Best Electrical Box in Philadelphia PA

Our home had an electrical box from the 60's which was likely the same time as when the service wires from the street were installed. In the middle of a Sunday night I was woken up by a loud bang and all of our lights flickering. I went to the basement to find the wires entering the house scorched, smoking, and buzzing. Since the wires in the wall were still live, we shut the power off to the house. I spent the rest of the night with a flashlight, fire extinguisher, and googling local electricians.Since this was an emergency situation I called several electricians the next morning with the hope someone would get back to me asap. Lauterborn Electric had great reviews and even had examples of our exact issue on their website so my hope was to get through to them.One of the reviews had mentioned to call the mobile # for Lauterborn and to not be discouraged if you went to the voicemail because Larry, the owner, would call you back in a few minutes. Sure enough, this is exactly what happened. I left a voicemail and he called me back within 5 minutes. No other electrician called me back, still hasn't.Larry was very friendly, listened to my issues, and said he would be out that afternoon to look into it. Him and his son Larry showed up, assessed the wires, let me know exactly what I needed and the exact cost it would be and that they could get it done the next day. They also cut the lines to the house so I didn't have a live wire in my wall over night.Sure enough, they showed up when they said they would the next day and finished everything up by that afternoon. Larry and his sons were very courteous, kept the work space clean, and took any residual trash with them.I have some electrical knowledge so I can tell you the work they did was beyond exceptional, they built a wall for the new service box and meter, they installed all of our existing circuits into the new box extremely neatly, they properly grounded everything with the cold water line and a ground rod (which you don't typically have in older row homes), weather proofed and protected the service line from the street all the way down and into the house, and did it all at a great price.I can't say enough good things about these guys. Larry said they do work all over, but we're in Port Richmond so they're local and will be who we call for any electrical work in the future. Thanks again Larry.

This guys did great work. They worked fast were friendly and cleaned up before leaving. Great work very happy with the price and the care taken when doing the job. I recommend then to anyone who needs electrical work done.

Tom and his At Home Electric team were on time and were extremely professional. They put ceiling outlets in for the new automatic garage doors we are getting, put additional lighting in our garage, added switches and outlets on both sides of the garage, installed a new bathroom light, and replaced an attic light switch. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. In addition, they were neat and did not leave a mess for us to clean up later. This is a company we will be happy to use again for our electrical needs.

The electricians replaced the worn plug on an appliance at no charge during the outlet and switch replacement, and they were very efficient, knowledgeable, and timely in their work. I highly recommend them!

George and his team did a couple of jobs for me over the past month. Relocated a chandelier and replaced my electrical meter and outdoor wiring.They were on time and responsive through the process. I find it difficult to reconcile the favorable reviews here with my distasteful experience with Theo Linde. He won't answer his phone -- ever. He insists his customers communicate with him only by email, even to schedule an appointment. He takes forever (WEEKS!) to respond to emails. He refuses to discuss his proposed work -- including specifications. (Reputable contractors don't do this.) Then, an hour before he was scheduled to begin work, he sent me an email increasing his price significantly, saying he was just getting around to reading his emails. Really?! He may be a decent electrician, but not worth the frustration of dealing with him.

What a wonderful and reliable and inventive person! I am thrilled with our experience with Steve! He came over and was able to install all of our fans so beautifully and with so much attention to detail. He also was able to come up with a way to fix one of our old fans that wasn’t working anymore. I look forward to hiring him again when I have some electrical things in my house to fix!

Clyde from Eagle Electric came out today. He was on time, courteous and COVID compliant. He completed his task in no time. I will call this company again as they took care of problems without a hitch.

Al, contacted me and scheduled an estimate for work I needed done at two properties. The prices he quoted were very fair. The work was done in a timely manner. He and his workers also did a good job of cleaning up their work materials. They were also very friendly and respected the current COVID-19 protocols. I would definitely recommend people call Delnico electric for their electrical work. I will definitely call them if I have any future jobs that need to be done.

The Addis family did a fantastic job on a series of interior and exterior electrical jobs at our home. They were very consultative as we scoped out the work and were always on-time and courteous. The work was done efficiently and with attention to detail. After the work was completed, they always cleaned up and reviewed the completed jobs with us. You may find a less expensive electrician, but Addis was worth it.
