Over a week ago, I contacted John Moore Plumbing about a hot water heater that wasn't working. A technician came out and told me I needed to replace the Thermal Pile Assembly (pilot light) and they would be back that afternoon to install. Later that day the technician called to say it is not a generic part and I should contact the manufacture since it was still under warranty. The original work estimate was for $1350 and I paid a deposit of $700. Per the technician, I ordered the part and paid $50 to have it overnighted to my home. I arranged with the technician to have the installation done Wed. (6.22.22) morning between 8-12. Just to be sure I called Tuesday morning to confirm; however, there was no record of the work order. I asked to speak to a manager who danced around a bit but agreed she would have someone out this morning between 8-12. This is particularly frustrating because both the technician and service manager knew I was in Galveston with my family and would need to drive back for the appointment this morning. Well at 11:00 this morning I called John Moore to check on the status. Per the person I spoke with, the technician that had my work order had been reassigned and I was no longer on the schedule. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they would get back to me in 2-4 hours which seems to epitomize the service experience I've had with the company. To be fair, they finally got the message when I told them I planned on posting a very unfavorable review. I have since had several follow up phone calls and a technician is on his way; however, no customer should ever have to deal with this level of incompetency, particularly after you've paid them $700.
