I wanted enough natural light for all my plants and when Lorrie suggested extending the living area into the patio to make a sunroom, I was blown away by her ideas. Scottsdale Kitchen & Bath has far surpassed all expectations. They have been an incredible company to work with starting with the initial visit and renderings. Their attention to detail is stellar, they do a very thorough job, at a fair price. Adrian and crew continue to go above and beyond. My bathroom project is still underway, but each day I'm blown away by their work, their cleanliness, and their communication with me throughout. I had a front entrance door that was rubbing against the door frame. The craftsman that came out was very friendly and said that he would replace a screw in the top hinge . He first tried a screw that would not go flush against the hinge. He then got two screws from his truck. He then took out another screw from the hinge and replaced two screws . These screws where both different in sizes the longer was close to 2” the other about an inch. It didn’t do much good and he recommended placing another screw into the jam on the latch side . I declined to let him do that. Based on what I observed when he started tightening my screw hinges. He was using a drill and not a screw driver. When I questioned him on this he replied that it would not strip out the screws . After he left I checked the screws he replaced and they are all stripped. They will not tighten at all. The screws had no issues before this and they all would tighten. Now I have stripped out screws and my door is still now adjusted correctly.

In response to the reply from this contractor: The reason there wasn’t a charge is because I had called to have you come out a couple of weeks ago and nobody showed up or called. So when I called the office they told me that the manager had failed to put me on the schedule in the computer. So no it wasn’t a courtesy.

When we spoke yesterday you said you could send Jay back out but on one else due to my vicinity. You also stated there would be a charge . I will be moving forward with a complaint to the BBB and the registrar of contractors . I had a reputable door company come out today and confirmed that the screws to the door hinges have become stripped out due to your service tech that came out yesterday.

Recently completed a major kitchen and master bath remodel. We are very happy with the results of both projects. We had to make a design change during the process, and Premier was very responsive and turnaround on the new design did not delay the project at all. The entire team was very professional and any issues that arose were quickly resolved. A great team and we would be happy to work with them again.

To be fair, the team at Design Lab did get our vision for the kitchen and bath remodel we planned, and their designs did, eventually, work out. HOWEVER, we’d suggest, should you opt for their services, to be very clear about what services they plan to provide and to be certain that they are doing what they promised correctly. In our experience:

1. Design Lab represented themselves as the lead team for our remodel. Without telling us, after we hired the contractor they introduced us to, they signed a contract with the contractor and Design Lab became a subcontractor. This created confusion for all parties throughout the project.
2. We kept the same footprint in the kitchen. Despite this, Design Lab did not measure the existing cabinets correctly. The cabinets they ordered for one wall would not have fit. Fortunately, the contractor identified that issue, but it led to a 2-week delay.
3. There was a gap from design to construction, which was our choice. By the time the project started, the kitchen cabinets we had selected were no longer available. Rather than telling us, Design Lab simply ordered different cabinets they thought we’d like. We didn’t like their choice. This led to a 4+-month delay, during which we had no kitchen.
4. Design Lab often did not order sufficient quantities of materials (like tile, cabinet filler, crown molding, kitchen cabinet knobs). In the deal they made with the contractor, Design Lab apparently maintained control over ordering materials and supplies. This added time and frustration, because projects could not be completed in one visit from the trades brought in by the contractor. All these issues led to completely using the contingency piece of the project budget, even though there was only 1 change order ever made.
5. Design Lab incorrectly ordered the backsplash tile, when they made up for the shortage of the first order. We had 2 different style tiles waiting to be installed, but fortunately this was spotted by the contractor before the tile was to be installed. Design Lab also ordered kitchen knobs that were different from what was in the specs.

All of this made a project the contractor estimated would take 6 weeks ultimately take 8 months!

This is THE company I would recommend for all of your renovation needs. Quentin is efficient, detail oriented, friendly and affordable...like REALLY affordable. I can tell that he puts a lot of thought into his quote to make sure you get the best deal possible. He works with you if you want to get your own materials so you can keep it in budget as well.

On this job, our guest bathroom, we knew we wanted Quentin to help us with it. Here's a rundown of everything they did...

1. Moved toilet to a different wall
2. Replace plumbing and put it in the wall to provide more space
3. Install floor tile
4. Install bathtub w/ subway tile surround w/ niche
5. Install shower pipes and fixtures

I enjoyed the experience of working with Luxury Remodels. A professional organization starting with an excellent design team who stands by the product they produce. Not easy to find. Quotes were given on a timely basis, and I was always informed of any change in pricing, which needed to be approved prior to completion.

My brother recommended Santa Cruz remodeling to me and they gave me a great price compared to other contractors I called. They didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need for my kitchen and it looks amazing now. I always get compliments on my new countertop and cabinets. I have a lot of respect for the way Ellie and Ivan do business, they always put the customer first!!

Brian walked away from finishing up a bathroom remodel project and stopped following up on a major tile supplier defect on another bathroom remodel project. He promised to resolve the issue but after stringing me along for about a year, he quit responding to my inquiries. So much for What you want, done right.
