I wish I can give them an O star.

My toilet is clogged, and the dirty water penetrated through the ceiling and dripping down to the downstairs level. I found this company from yelp and had them come to do the work.

The plumber George showed up in 60 minutes (at around 5 pm CST) and charged us $170 emergency fee right away (Yes, perfectly match the company's name). He ran a sewer snake drill to try to clear the clog but failed. The drill bit broke inside the drainpipe. Even the work was not done, he charged us another $200 for his effort. He said he has to bring a camera to check the drainpipe the next day. So we pay $369 for nothing on the first day.

George and his manager came four days later (yes, they are surprisingly busy). They ran the camera ($355) through the drainpipe and found the big congestion is gone. They said it could be due to the flushing from downstairs. However, they also found another small clog which could cause problems in the future. I asked them to run another round of snake drill to clean the little clog spot. They said that wouldn't work. They ended up cut open two drywalls ($150). One is in the back of the toilet (totally unnecessary), and one is the ceiling downstairs. After that, they said they need to charge me another $2700 to open the pipe and remove the clog (the price does not include fixing the drywall). I stopped their service at that point.

Two days later, I had another plumber company to check the issue. They ran the camera ($250), identified the spot, drilled the drainpipe ($380), reran the camera to make sure the clog is gone. They recorded all the videos and gave me a copy of them.

If I had the 2nd company do the work in the first place, I should only need to spend $630 and get everything done. Now, I had paid $875 to Right Away and another $500 to fix the drywall. I could spend another insane $2700 to have them open the pipe and remove the clog if I listened to them. A good company should find the most suitable solution for the client, but not the most expensive and unnecessary solution.

I called Kavana's Plumbing around 11:30 p.m. I had an emergency when my pipes burst suddenly due to the extreme weather and I had no water in the house. I called several other plumbers looking for help, but all were booked or either closed due to the late hour.
Thankfully, I came across Kavana's Plumbing and Heating which were highly rated and spoke to Henry. He was Courteous and Professional and came right out to our home. He assessed the situation and immediately went to work after we agreed upon pricing. He was very thorough. He fixed the busted pipe and also took the time to correct a few other leaks that resulted in the pipes starting to thaw out. I would highly recommend this Plumbing service. I am so thankful I was able to find a Plumber who was willing to come right out and Henry did an excellent job.
I highly recommend this company. So happy to have running water again!

I wrote a review for Kavana’s Plumbing and Heating about a month ago. During the severe cold, my pipes burst and I needed an emergency 24 hour repair service. I surfed the internet and found several 24 hour service providers, but they had restricted hours listed despite the fact they advertised as 24 hour service. I came across Kavana’s Heating and Plumbing as a 24 hour provider and spoke to Henry who immediately came out and repaired the damage to our pipe and restored our water.
We have an old Victorian built in 1894 and the plumbing system is delicate. Henry had the knowledge and resources to correct the situation without causing us to go into extreme debt in order to correct the problem.

Sympathetic to our budget, he also recognized a few other issues in the piping system. If left, they could potentially cause more severe problems in the future.

In our neighborhood, our house has stood as a historic landmark for the community. We are known as the Pink and White House of the West side of Chicago. My dad was dedicated to preserving the integrity of the home and the frequent repairs needed when preserving an older home. Since his death, the house is in need of many repairs to our great concern.

Mindful of this, Kavana’s Plumbing and Heating was willing to donate their time and service to repair and fix some of the other plumbing issues that was detected in the home. Mike and Kevin did a great job. They did their job the right way and found the problem to the core. Even saved us some money by finding the root cause. Now our plumbing is better than ever thanks to Mike and Kevin. We will be using these guys again for any future plumbing needs!
