Best Water Treatment Solutions in Albuquerque NM
Extremely delayed review regarding my experience with Albuquerque Plunbing, Heating, And Cooling. Had these folks come in a few years ago to repipe all my supply lines and hot water heater and learned last night a couple things were never done properly. The guys that came out were very friendly and punctual. Overall a project that was supposed to take a week turned into more like 3 weeks if I can recall, BUT here's where things go negative. My thermal expansion tank for my hot water heater was not installed right. From the factory thermal expansion tanks ship at 35-40lbs of air pressure(from what I've seen so far) and part of the install process SHOULD BE to check water pressure at a hose bib and increase the pressure on the tank to match whatever that water pressure reading measured. I know for certain I never saw the crew check pressure on the house or fill the tank. I took a lot of time off work to watch and familiarize myself with what they did and how and this process is critical! As I said, I learned last night this wasn't done properly after a pinhole leak developed in the tank, causing water to spray all over the inside of my utility closet, close proximity to electrical receptacles and our central heat unit.ALSO, this tank weighs about 5lbs out of the box, every gallon of water weighs 8lbs. For a 2 gallon tank, when it fails, weighs 21lbs. It may or may not be code, but plenty of stuff online recommends strapping this tank to a wall to provide support and not 21lbs floating on top of fittings should it fail and completely fill with water.Watch your crews, and specifically when it comes to these tanks be sure they are pressurizing properly. These tanks are only expected to last 5 to 10 years from what I've read so be ready to swap frequently as well.

Called them to fix a noisy swamp cooler, they came right out that afternoon. Told me I needed a new belt and bearings. Gave me an estimate for 1.5 hours in labor and parts. They did not have any parts on the truck, so I guess they had to run to Home Depot. The job was completed in 1 hour even with the parts run. I have the time they came in the gate of my complex and the text saying the job was finished. I was still charged for 1.5 hours. When the tech finished the repair he came down and said there may still be a little noise as the bracket on the fan was bent. I said OK. He told me I would probably get another 2-3 years out of that cooler. It was quite for the rest of the day and then back to the same clattering I had before. I call them back and they said it would be the end of the week before they could make it back out. He did arrive on Friday morning at the agreed upon time. He went up on the roof and came down saying the bracket was now broken and jumping all around. I asked for him to show me where this was in the cooler. We were both on the roof and he took the bracket and shoved it back and forth and said see. I told him the other repairs should not have been made if that part was in that condition. He got quite defensive and said is was all bent up and he could not tell the condition prior to the original repair. The cooler was functioning when he arrived the first time, nothing had ceased or was bound up. He raised his voice to me as we both stood on the roof. I had to tell him not to yell at me. He then said maybe he could get some JB Weld to stabilize the bracket..... but he did not have any on the truck. He said he would be back at around 5pm to do the job. Then just a few hours later I get a call from the tech saying that the owner of the company was willing to deduct the price of the repair from a new cooler and install. $1,475 less the repair of $229. I told him I thought that price was inflated. I have priced a similar cooler for about $600 or less, the motor can be reused and installation should not be any more than $400. I told him I could not afford to replace at this time, and just come out to so the weld on the bracelet to get me through the season. They never showed back up. I even called the next Tuesday morning and got nothing but attitude from the office girl. So this bad review could have been avoided if they had just done what they said they would do.
