Good Guy Backflow Plumber
Mac has done the backflow testing for my house in Shoreline for the past 3 years. Scheduling my backflow test has been easier that with other testers I've used in the past. He has always been on time to the appointments I've made via his website.

I've had him conduct two backflow inspections during this pandemic and he has been very careful in regards to wearing a mask both times. (Really appreciate this!)

On the day of testing, he submitted the reports required by the city of Seattle via email and cc'd me.

Good Guy Backflow works well for me.

Seatown Electric Plumbing Heating and Air Plumber
I had contacted Seatown because my gas water heater stopped working, I was advised by someone close to me that works with these that it was most likely the thermal coupler that needed to be replaced (unfortunately that person lives 300 miles away). Seatown sent 2 guys out, Anthony and Daniel, who seemed nice enough. I was told they thought it might be the thermal coupler too and quoted $367+tax to replace it, but instead of replacing it they told me they tested it and the unit was toast and would need to be replaced, to which I was quoted $2650 + tax for a new unit and installation. This price seemed high to me so I decided to do some research on my own. I located the hot water tank (same one as quoted) for $679+tax at Home Depot. After talking things over with my significant other we decided that we wanted a 2nd opinion. I had another person come out and take a look at it, he said the thermal coupler replacement would do the trick (he only charged $200 for all of it). He replaced the part and I now have hot water again. I would like to think that what your guys told me was because they aren’t as aware of the life span that this hot water tank should have, but instead I’m left feeling like they saw me as a woman that they might be able to pull one over on. I really wanted to like Seatown, but after all of this I’ve decided I’ll be sticking with the smaller locally owned businesses that only specialize in 1 trade.
