Best Excavation Work in Portland OR

Lovett Inc. Plumber
Loved our experience with Lovett! We came in to the office and the water heater had leaked all over the floor and hallway carpet. Lovett sent out a technician (Andrew) within 2 hours. He was prompt, courteous, friendly and able to replace our water heater within a few hours. We are so grateful to Andrew and the Lovett team for resolving our water heater leak so quickly!

Axiom Sewers & Plumbing Plumber
Avoid this contractor at all costs. They bid low but it shows when it comes to their professionalism and integrity. After contractor hit gas line (where they weren't supposed to be using mechanical excavation methods), the field workers admitted to hitting it. The next day the crew changed their story and the office staff became very rude. One month after the sewer repair I received a change order for the additional work. DO NOT HIRE. My advice to anyone looking to repair their sewer - Find a contractor accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

JH Kelly (formerly Portland Mechanical Contractors) Plumber
I called Portland Mechanical Contractors. I told them that they would need two people and two ladders for saftey. They said they would be at the store at 8:00 am and call before they got there. They told me it would be 60.00 one time travel fee and $122.50 an hr for two guys. Any other trips would be free since It is no longer an estimate but a work order.
They called at 7:58 telling me 8:30, There was only one person, so I helped him set up ladders Rope and get the tools up on the roof, took 5 Minutes. We found the problem quickly. We were off the roof by 8:55 am less than ½ hour. He was going to find out if they had a (Draft Motor)in stock . I texted him at 9:15am,to tell him I wanted a quote first. I was a bit surprised he was still outside at 9:45. He said he was still on hold to see if they had the part. He was frustrated he was on hold. So he left to Oregon city to see if they had the part, because he would have to pick it up anyhow.
I could buy the part for $202.00 (online)I knew this because I helped him on the unit. Well, He texted me at 10:48 to tell me it was 382.86. I thought cool $202.00(Parts), $60.00(travel), and 122.50 for labor. (really only 30 minutes and one person) 382.50 was just about right according to my calculations. So I called him right back to say cool go with it. But he told me 382.50 for parts and 3 hours of labor and still adding up. First of all it was only 10:55am I pointed that out to him. He got to my place at 8:30am. I asked how he justified the price for the part, I’m sure he gets wholesale prices. Plus I’m sure it would have been another 1 hour to install and He was an hour out and charging for drive time. He said his time started when he called me at 7:58. What the hell was the 60.00 travel for? I’m suppose to pay for him being on “hold” (45 min) with his own company and venders and his drive time to pick it up and deliver it at 122.50 an hour. I could have had the part delivered here next day delivery for 245.00. No hold time, no drive time, what a waste of time.
