Best Preventative Maintenance in Plano TX

My daughter broke her shower handle on Super Bowl Sunday. We had to shut the water off to the whole house. I called a different plumber to come out the next morning. They never showed up. LUCKILY, after the no-show we called Gem Plumbing. Stan answered and I went into my story. He let me know that he wouldn’t be able to come out that day but started asking me questions about the situation. Stan ended up speaking with my husband and walked him through fixing it! Gem Plumbing is now saved in my phone and will always be my go to. Amazing customer service and just a great person!

Robert was very responsive and quickly came out when we had a plumbing issue at our home. He took the time to carefully investigate what the issue was and he explained it to me so well. I appreciated that very much as he took time to tell me what the problem was and what the options were to solve and repair the problem. He completed his work and he was so kind to explain all of it to me. If I have any other plumbing issues, I will call them again, it is an honest and caring company.

I first used Gary's Quality Plumbing services when I moved into my house in 2011 to do a plumbing check and then fix several items from the inspection report. Subsequently they replaced my two water heaters in 2015 and 2017. Work is always high quality. Adam came out this month to fix my leaky shower, a faucet stem had to be replaced. I also asked him to put in quarter turn valves and hoses under a couple of sinks so that faucet replacement becomes easy to do myself. He did all this and was also nice enough to wear a proper N95 mask while he did all this. With the BA.5 variant spreading rapidly I did not want to expose some high risk people in my house to it. I am very appreciative of that.

The only plumbers I could find available on a Saturday. They came out that day to clear our sewer line. Was in time, did a great job at a reasonable price. Will definitely use these folks in the future.

On a Tuesday evening I heard a hissing noise in my wall near the floor. A few hours later we started to notice water seeping onto the floor. The dreaded water leak under the foundation. I shut the water off at the main valve and called Plano Plumbing early the next morning. They had another job that morning but got to me by noon and began to search for the leak with their special leak detection tools. The owner of the company and his crew seemed very experienced and knew exactly what to do. It was obvious they had many years of experience doing this type of work. I was also impressed on how their equipment could locate the leak, trace the entire pipe section under the slab and then know where the pipe is actually leaking below the slab. In a couple of hours they had rerouted the new pipe, above ground, through the walls and had the problem fixed. I prefered them rerouting the entire pipe section versus jackhammering the slab and replacing only a small section of pipe. If you do the repair under the slab you leave an big section of otherwise bad pipe that may soon begin to leak again. I couldn't sleep very well knowing there was a new patch in an old string of pipe that could spring a leak at anytime. Rerouting the entire section makes more sense in the long run and is also less expensive. Will not hesitate to call Plano Plumbing & Leak Detection in the future.
