Zoom Drain from Pittsburgh, PA, is a fantastic plumbing service. In light of an emergency, they were able to send a plumbing technician out within the hour. I found this service on Google and was able to set up a quick service appointment via text, which can also be done by phone. Everybody knows how stressful a plumbing situation can be, and many times, it can be very costly. Zoom Drain was able to work with me in terms of financing as I was in a bind. They made a call to their office, and I explained my needs; they worked with me to split the cost. Not only was that excellent customer service, but their quality of work was great. They were able to identify my issues and gave me some pointers on how to mitigate future problems. I'm thankful I was able to get this fixed today, and it has substantially reduced my stress. We had water coming into our living room and called 6 plumbers who were unable to come out for various reasons. 412 Plumbing answered right away and had someone out to our house within a few short hours. Greg, the plumber who arrived, was professional and personable. He set our mind at ease regarding what happened (a flooded toilet) and what the next steps would be.

Things I particularly appreciated were that Greg put shoe covers on every time he entered our home-- this was not necessary but demonstrated respect, which I appreciated. He also had to snake our toilet, and he put the tools in a bag before heading back through our house. I'm sure this is standard procedure, but we haven't had cause for many plumbers, and I appreciated that Greg took care of our house.

At a certain point, Greg had to address something in our basement, where we had a litter of foster cat + 5 kittens. Greg was very patient and gentle as I moved the cats out of his way. At one point, the foster cat mom even walked across Greg's shoulders! Again, he was very nice to the pets.

We would definitely call 412 Plumbing in the future should we have additional plumbing needs.

The water tank in two of our bathrooms needed repair because of loss of water due to mechanical problems. A person from Miller Plumbing came to take a look at the toilette tanks. He proceed to tell me that he was going to charge me $39.00 for the visit and also said something to the effect that it would cost me $379.00 to fix the bathrooms. I guess it was my misunderstanding but even the price quoted was quite steep to fix the leaking problems in the tanks. Furthermore, he said that he would be returning soon to fix the issues with the toilettes. In fact, he came the next day in the morning. To my surprise, once he was finished with the job, he proceeded to bill me for another $727.00 on top of the deposit of $100 that I had paid him the previous day. I assume that the fixtures that he bought to replace the ones that are in the bathroom could not have been much higher than $50. That means that I paid about $750 for Miller Plumbing for less than an hour's time of one of its employees. That's the time he took to fix the plumbing. I told the person the the price was outrageous but he told me that is the price to fix a bathroom, 379 for each, plus $39 for the visit and the rest for the fixtures that were provided. Highway robbery to say the least. If you are looking to fix anything in your bathroom keep away from Miller Plumbing. I could have bought two new toilette bowls and have them installed for the price that I paid to fix some minor plumbing issues. I tried to put a stop payment on the check but it was too late to do so. If I could give less than a star to Miller Plumbing I would gladly give it to them.

While the repair went well and the team was courteous, I found them to be overpriced, not completely honest, lacking in transparency about charges, and the office unresponsive to a request.

AG quoted me 1K for standard replacement of waste and overflow/trap piping on a bathtub, largely because the ceiling below had to be opened up for access. So I did all the legwork of opening the ceiling myself in advance for easy access, but they only took off 30%. The plumber said that this was still a 4-5 hour job. They completed the job in an hour an half, at which was (apparently) about $500/hr. and charged me *extra* for parts (cost of parts not included in the estimate, which was not communicated to me. I also had no say in what kind of tub drain/drain stop mechanism they were putting in, which is not what I would have chosen. If I had known the part wasn't included in the quoted price, I would have purchased the part that I wanted myself).

Plumber then assured me on day of install that I would get an invoice itemizing all charges but this didn't happen. I called the office to request list of charges, which they said they would email the next day, but didn't. The only reason I agreed to this work is for a quick repair. In my experience, the company is negligent on some really basic good business practices.

Take note that the good reviews are all old!

I contacted them on a Monday and described “in detail” the job I needed done and that it was a VERY time sensitive job. On Wednesday they sent their man out and he spent over an hour reviewing the job with me. He estimated to be about $10,000 and I said that was a lot more than I was expecting but it was perfectly fine because the job needed to be done ASAP. Not hearing from them for two days, on Friday I called them and they don’t answer! However late in the day on Friday I get an email saying they’ve decided not to do the job. Now I’ve lost an entire seven days because it’s the weekend and I can’t call anyone else and this job as I stated is extremely time sensitive.

To have one of their office ladies send me a short email after wasting a week of my time for a $10,000 job instead of having someone in management call and express their regret and apologize for wasting a whole week of my time… Very unprofessional.

As my mother always used to say “if the rolls arrive at the table and they’re not warm you can tell the foods gonna be lousy too.” I’ve never found her to be wrong yet!

I own multiple rental properties in the city and my business partner owns many more. I originally recommended Davey plumbing to him because on my initial call the ladies in the office were so nice. Well… Lesson learned.

Very professional.:40 minutes of total gentle labor plus 40 minutes of driving to pick up the piece and bring it back to install it. A small resistor, which should not cost more than a few dollars. Total: US$ 399. My bad, I should have asked the hourly rate.
