His only explanation for this is that the unit is old so the heat strips would need to be replaced. $600 for new heat strips and $400 for wiring repair. At this point I was pressured to purchase a new complete HVAC system rather than waist $1000 on an older system. I thanked him for his quotes and got someone else to address the problem. $100 later the wires are repaired and the unit is working fine. This is not the first time Penguin has tried to pressure me into buying unnecessary utilities. I was told that I needed a new water heater about a year ago and it is still working just fine. This company has definitely changed it's business model since I first started doing business with them. I was very pleased with them originally but no longer. I will be ending my maintenance contract with them.
