In mid-June our decrepit HVAC system was on its last legs and the ductwork was shot. Armstrong Mechanical came out on top of several quotes. We got a top rated Lennox system, completely new ductwork, and blown insulation at a very reasonable price. Armstrong completely replaced the 3 foot plenum, which is the stack over the blower unit that connects to the attic ductwork. Some companies just slide a new blower unit in and connect it to the original plenum which can be caked with years of dirt. Armstrong installed duct elbows over raised rafters and dampers in the ducts. Both improve the airflow. Armstrong also put in all new boots, the metal sleeve that joins the air vent grate to the ducting. The installation techs cleaned the air intake vents embedded in the foundation using an extended vacuum hose. We had a glitch a couple of weeks after installation arising from Lubbock's changeover to ERCOT. Armstrong sent someone over within a couple of hours of our phone call. They installed a surge protector at no cost to us under our service contract. Armstrong Mechanical's Comfort Specialist David T and their service techs were wonderful to work with. They were very friendly, helpful, and patiently explained things. The installation was done carefully and efficiently. The service techs kept the areas they worked in clean.
