I have had the luxury of having Cronin plumbing work on my home. I have been restoring a 120 year home. Cronin has replaced the bathroom plumbing as well as the boiler and several smaller projects. When asked if i got estimates my answer is why, I would choose no other. The professionalism, work and cost is beyond reproach.

Royal Heating and Cooling is a diamond in the rough. If you are looking for a company with good techs who know what they are doing, will show up on time, be cordial, do the right thing the first time, and then send you a bill that is more than reasonable considering all of the above, then these are your guys. Royal has helped me out of several jams over the years and every time i call them they amaze me with their level of professionalism. I really can’t say enough about Royal. If you are using another company in Jersey City, you are probably not as happy as I am.

The plumber who came out was a nice guy, and successfully did what he needed to do, which was not easy. However, I asked to empty my bathroom before he started to work. He said okay, then proceeded to go to work anyway, trashing towels (he even took towels off the rack and used them to clean up sewage without checking with me), leaving items in the vanity drawers that he pulled out and piling debris on top of them, put sewage covered items on a wooden shower stool, it goes on. Then, I found out that he should have tried to keep the sink and faucet from the vanity, but since he didn't insurance may not replace it. I am not impressed.

Dan and his team performed an emergency repair of my father-in-law's bathroom floor. He ensured the repair was done correctly and the floor was level, since my father-in-law uses a walker to move around. Sherry, the office manager, communicated prices, timeframes, and other details in a timely and efficient manner. The repaired floor looks great and my father-in-law can now use the bathroom safely.

Firstly, I think it s important that people understand something from the get go. When you go to the Doctor or a lawyer...you pay for that service. I think its unfair that Aumenta PLmbg is getting bad reviews because of why? they actually charge? is that the problem?...The person who thought he was being treated unfairly because his sewer was backed up and Aumenta charged 190.00. Secondly, when you call any service professional you should expect to pay accordingly. And thirdly, Shame on Mr 190.00 for actually moaning and complaining....that 30.00 snake compared to professional equipment is the difference between a Mercedes-Benz and a Match box car.....your right ...there is no comparison..!

Not recommended. The technician broke the shutoff valve while fixing our bathroom sink.
We had called about a small leak. The tech came to assess and said we needed a whole new faucet. We agreed and he installed a new one. While doing it, he broke the shutoff valve. He did not try to fix it; after charging us $450 for a new faucet, he simply just left.
When we called the company again for support on replacement valve, they said they would need to charge for the replacement. Charge us for something their own technician broke.
Great business model, old as time. Make something worse, and then charge customer to fix.
I **think** the team leans on a task rabbit type of hiring. So luck of the draw on the technician. This is a guess, as when we first called the company to complain they said we don't have record of sending anyone. We had to send a picture of the receipt from the tech as proof. Even after this, they did not take any responsibility for the poor work of the tech they sent.

Now after a I arranged an appointment here in the company, the man came and finishes installing the doors ahead of time. He was so hardworking and is really smiling. We’ve used Kook and Son exclusively over close to 15 years in multiple residences because of their professionalism, promptness and the quality of their work. The technicians are also trained in current equipment (tankless water heaters, high efficiency furnaces, etc)
In our most recent engagement our tankless hot water heater developed a leak overnight. I called Kook around 9 am and they were able to get someone there that morning even though the techs were already at another job (great in and of itself!). The technician then worked with the manufacturer to troubleshoot and determined that the unit needed to be replaced and was under warranty.
This is where Kook really shined: the manufacturer needed to review pictures of the unit, where the leak was, etc. before approving the claim and allowing us to get a replacement unit so there was no way to schedule an appointment with Kook since we didn’t know specifically when we’d get that info from the manufacturer. Kook worked with us over the two days it took getting the manufacturer the info they needed and made technicians available the minute I was emailed the return authorization. They arrived within a couple of hours with the replacement unit (again, without a previously made appointment), replaced the defective unit and had hot water up and running again in a few hours. Howard Kook, the owner, also called me personally several times to let me know they were on the case, working with their staffing to ensure someone would be available when needed, etc. since he understood that being without hot water, even briefly, is a big problem and he didn’t want us to worry that we weren’t being attended to in the background even as we waited for the return authorization to take the next step.
We have and continue to give Kook and Son our highest recommendation.
