ARS/Rescue Rooter Heating Cooling Plumbing Electrical Plumber
We’ve been having issues with our A/C cooling our master bedroom over the last 18 months. We’ve had ARS out two other times to look at the system (as part of normal maintenance). The previous answers were just that it may be warmer in that room because it faces west.I should note that this A/C was installed about 7 years ago by ARS, and for the first 4-5 years and worked great. Something changed about 18 months ago when we had some other construction work done. This past time, I called ARS to come out specifically to address the warm room issue (rather than as a side issue).Robert was the one all call, and first thing out, Robert assured me he would look things over and get to the bottom of the problem. He went up into the attic and immediately found that our ducts had dampers installed, and that the master bedroom damper was almost completely closed (that will do it). I could immediately feel the difference. In addition, the last two technicians out had added coolant to the system because it was below pressure. We were afraid we had a leak in the coil. Robert suggested that we perform a leak test, which cost around $190. As soon as he removed the panel to perform the stress test, he noticed that the insulation on the inside of the unit had come lose, and was obstructing airflow. This both reduced the efficiency of the A/C, but also lowered the refrigerant pressure. With the obstruction removed, the pressure went back up, and we could further feel an improvement in air flow. He said he now recommended against the leak test, since he doubted the we had a leak.Long story short, Robert pegged the problem within 30 minutes of investigating. They didn’t end up charging because it was a follow up to the original maintenance call (I’m on the home plan). Our bedroom is no longer hot at night, and our A/C no longer struggles to in the afternoon to hold the temperature in this Texas heat.I’m ecstatic at the outcome. Our house is cool all over, and I’m guessing our electricity bill will drop as well. Thank you Robert so much for being thorough and applying your expertise to our problem. I’m super pleased with this particular visit.
