A friendly plumber gave me an estimate on fixing a leak in my crawl space and moving my water cutoff above my floor. Everything was good until the $750 estimate. This estimate was way, way too high. How do I know? After I declined, I went to Lowes and spent $100 on supplies, then fixed it myself in 2 hours. It would have been much less for Roby, as I had to buy tools and 100ft of pipe, when I only needed 4. In other words, if the professional was as slow as I am, they were asking $350/hour.

Plumbers need to figure out that with shark/gator bite connectors, amateurs can do a sufficient job easily. I would have preferred to pay a fair price to have a pro do the work, but I'm not interested in getting ripped off.

We had an emergency situation on a Sunday. I made about 10-15 calls and was only able to get 1 company (which wasn't my preferred choice) to come out. After an enormous estimate that included everything other than our immediate problem, I couldn't wait to get the guy out of here( without fixing our issue). The next morning ,Jennifer, from Hellyer plumbing was the only person who called back, and I'm so glad she did. Everyone was so professional, efficient, timely and fair with the pricing. I called Steve to replace a water sprocket and then he agreed on a time in the afternoon, I was traveling out of town and on way home and his guy came out pushed his way through and my wife is working remote so she was occupied and then he finished gave her a $600 bill and she signed unbeknownst he was supposed to give. He never gave us an estimate on how much just rushed thorough and charged, very unacceptable and if we knew we would have not used them.

I then disputed it and he keeps harassing me, very unprofessional and inappropriate for s business leader and he uses old scare tactics to get his money so old school and dark, I wouldn’t recommend anyone do business with him.

We hired them to run completely redo our outside spigot. It has never been connected since we had the house. They ran pvc, connected it, and replaced outside spigot. They were very professional, friendly, and worked in a timely manner.

Damaged my floors - Had a water heater with a defunct gas valve. They came to replace it. A few days later I noticed the floor buckled with water damage. Pulled the plank up closest to the water heater and there was standing water under it. Extends to the wall of my laundry room. No damage near the washer so the obvious source is the water heater. Old one not leaking. New one not leaking. Used towels to clean water during install so there was a water issues at that time. They ignored my first call and contact via website. Second call they answered but took no accountability for the damage. Laughed at the suggestion the replace the damaged area. Unprofessional. Unaccountable. Bad hearted person to leave the job like that and leave the homeowner to deal with it.
