Technician Joel phoned prior to arrival giving me an estimate which is appreciated. Arrived as scheduled. Perform the needed maintenance on said unit. Advise that there was a part that needed to be replaced. Provided me with the information and options available discussed in length. Agreed upon service returned with said part and replaced. Technician Joel was respectful of the property wore footies inside the home due to the weather. American heating and air is one of the best companies in Columbus and is highly recommended. Their customer service their technicians and prices are outstanding.

Great experience with American Air, Joel, the technician showed up when he said he would. Very courteous and knowledgeable young man. Went to work right away and was kind enough to explain what he was doing. Cleaned and serviced my AC, and gave it a clean bill of health. Very satisfied with American Air and will be calling in the future when I need service again.

I appreciate American Air for the quick appointment in a day just before Christmas to fix the HVAC issues. This is a true customer service. ‘Destiney’ performed the service in our home and she was professional and quick. I appreciate her for her dedication and passion towards the work. She explained the workings of the HVAC system and warranty details. She performed some tests on the first and second floor and found the faulty thermostat on the second floor and replaced it. Provided knowledge about doing good maintenance on the system.
There isn't a more overpriced option in the general area, they treat their employees like dirt, and are extremely litigious if you want to continue working in the field once you've worn out from their inter office politics and toxic work environment. Use a fan a space heater or a better company. I wouldn't call them for anything and Id sure has heck never work for such a toxic company. Save your time your money and your energy for a company that values you and their employees. You'll have a better experience. Whatever you do, do not work here, they will do anything they can to make your life hell once you leave. They've gone so far as to call a coworkers new employer trying to have him fired once he left their goat rodeo. DO NOT WORK HERE. DO NOT PATRONIZE THEM. Do better. Technician called to say he was on the way within the promised time window. He knew what he was doing and made the necessary repairs in short order. He was efficient and professional. I was pleased with the result and will choose American Air in the future.
James came to help with our routine preventative maintenance. He was very professional, polite, and informative, helping identify issues with our system. He was extremely knowledgeable, and educated us on the equipment and the solutions available. We greatly appreciated his good work. Not good. Maybe this review is a build up of all the poor services I’ve had this year, but this one is the last I can handle. Paid over 400$ in arrears for winter/summer clean and maintenance and had to call them to schedule in the summer. The person came out, left a mess, did a job I could’ve done for free, and departed. It’s time consumers stop allowing poor quality when we are also dealing with inflation. That’s mulch and mud in my air conditioner from him “cleaning” the unit

Last February 9, 2022 6:10 pm, we paid $99 service fee for American Air Furnace Company to look at and service our furnace. Our furnace was making a loud noise. Service man, 901 Vu-Young (Tech Code) did not service our furnace at all, he did find that water was in the fan causing the loud noise. Vu-Young's work order noted, work description: Find combustion fan assembly had water inside, repair code M8B = $990. In addition, he suggested that we replace our entire furnace/HVAC system. We believed he was being unreasonable and looking to take advantage of us, as our furnace is still working and in good shape. January 2023, our new neighbor, an HVAC specialist, heard the furnace working loudly and asked if he could look at it. He cleaned water out the fan, cleaned a tube and debris out and he has no other concerns for our furnace. Our furnace is running quietly and smoothly after 15 minutes of maintenance. I do not recommend or trust American Air Furnace Company. If you decide to use this company, I recommend that you get a second opinion. This company is not trust worthly or honest! I recommend that anyone that has plumbing and HVAC needs to shop around, research the average national price to save money. I DO NOT recommend American Air Heating Electric for any services!

I bought my furnace and ac through American Air a few years ago; so on December 23rd, when my furnace wasn't keeping up, I called American Air. The tech came out, and told me that my furnace wasn't going into the high heat stage because the control board was bad. The tech said he would call me when he could locate a new control board. A week or so later the tech called me. I asked how much the labor would be to replace the control board (parts are still under warranty). He said he would only discuss that in person so he could give me all my options. Red flag #1. Yesterday the tech came back out to replace the control board. He told me that since the furnace was still under warranty I would get $225 towards my repair. He shows me, on an ipad, 4 options for my repair ranging from bandaid at $718 to I forget what the high end was called at $1149. Red flag #2. The basic difference between the 4 options was the length of warranty that came with the repair. I would also like to note that I asked to look over these options on his ipad while he got tools from his van, and he said that was not allowed. Red flag #3. I tell the tech that I am not sure that I need a control board as my furnace started working fine on December 26th when the outdoor temps were above 10. He was able to verify that the furnace was going into high heat stage. At this point he says that there is no way of knowing how long it will work. Red flag #4. I tell him that I'm going to let it go for now, but could I take a picture of the 4 plans on his ipad so that I know what I'm in for should it stop working. He refused and said copyright issues. Red flag #5. And I'm done.
This is not how hvac repair works.
We had the furnace checked out several months ago, but they haven't returned to address a venting issue. I have called multiple times and the front staff is very nice, but there's no resolution and it's frustrating and disappointing.

March 2023: We had great service by James. He was very polite, courteous and friendly. James did a general maintenance and cleaning of our furnace, and while doing so found a problem with the gas supply. Columbia Gas came out right away and fixed the problem. James returned later and verified all systems were good with the furnace. Great job all the way around.
We called American Air at 9 am and had a scheduled appointment between noon and 5 pm the same day. Fifteen minutes later they called back and said there was a cancellation and could be here in 45 minutes. Tom arrived promptly and was very courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, went to get the parts and the AC was back on and running properly by 11 am. Tom was friendly and knowledgeable and took good care of us. Would definitely use American Air and Tom again.

Shawn is fantastic. Professional and quick. He has helped me with multiple plumbing issues and always does such a good job. Today we got a new hot water heater, new bathroom fixtures, and had outdoor spigots replaced. He has also helped me with my sump pumps. He books up well in advance but it is worth waiting for him to ensure it is done right.

Tried to put in my original thermostat as I'm selling my house. While switching them out, the HVAC unit completely stopped working. They came out at 11am, found out some fuses blew and needed to be replaced. Determined my old thermostat was likely defective and suggested I not switch them as it would likely happen again

American Air installed my furnace 3 years ago, and gave it an annual checkup today. Their service has been impeccable, and the furnace has performed flawlessly.
My gas bills have been lower than with my old furnace, the house is warm, and the furnace is remarkably quiet.
I got a call this morning 20 minutes ahead of arrival, and service was done in an hour. Could not ask for better service.

I called for emergency service on a Saturday at 1pm. They were able to fit me in, although arrival time was slightly delayed due to existing calls before me which is understandable. When they got there, we only had 30 minutes before having to leave for a family outing, and they were able to wrap up the maintenance in that time. Grateful, warm, and will be contacting for future issues.

Destiney Went above and beyond to address a problem that could have gotten worse over time and did not try to oversell me on a maintenance package. She was very honest and upfront on what was needed and advised accordingly.

Sean Carte installed a new hot water heater in my home. He showed up on time and did an expert job. Explained the workings of the heater and explained the warranty coverage. Left a neat workspace when he left. I was very pleased with his work and American Air should be proud to have such an excellent employee.
Guy did a good job as always. Found potential issues and provided helpful advice.
Tech called ahead and showed up when he said he would ready to go. Tech knew what he was doing. Made two repairs, one an adjustment the other required replacing a failing electronic component. Although the replacement part was covered under the service agreement and on the truck, the cost was still quite expensive, especially considering the furnace is only three years old. Thanks for watching out for us.

ZERO COMMUNICATION IN THIS COMPANY... Inducer motor completely disintegrated on Sunday morning at 6 am, called there 'emergency' service and get a call from a service tech. Described the issues and sent pictures with model and serial numbers. Tech said he would leave a message for the parts company so installation could happen the next Monday at a reasonable time. Meanwhile with no furnace and only a gas fireplace, the temp in the house dropped to 55 degrees overnight thinking American Air call first thing in the morning to estimate a timeline for the repairs. Never assume anything with this company, I texted the Tech at 8 am and with no response I called American Air to follow-up on the info I gave them Sunday. Nobody had any idea who I was or what my issue was with the furnace. They said they would dispatch another Tech between 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm to get information on the part numbers needed to repair the furnace. This is completely unacceptable... wait an entire 24 hours MORE to complete an 'Emergency' service call. While I understand parts are limited on the weekend, especially on Sunday, this company displayed NO urgency or willingness to retake the furnace information and solve the problem. I stopped at West Jefferson Heating and Cooling, gave them the part numbers and they called the parts into will-call at a local wholesaler and I picked it up and installed the new inducer. Willing to pay American Air for parts & labor, even pay after hours fee, and all I get is excuses. I've used this company in the past and will not use this company at my residence or any of the three commercial buildings I own.

I was taught that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. So, here are a couple of positives:
Setting an appointment was easy and I was scheduled for the next day (convenient)
The technician was on time, polite, respectful of my home and wore appropriate PPE
Now, the review:
After inspecting my air conditioning condenser unit (but having not inspected the evaporator coil, blower motor, thermostat or any portion of my furnace), the technician informed me that the cost to refill my refrigerant, with leak inhibitor, would be “over $1,000”, and that I “should put that money towards a new system instead”.
This is fair advice, albeit misleading, and could be interpreted as an effort to help drive replacements over repairs. To future customers who need HVAC service: Please be advised that refilling R-22 (“freon”) refrigerant is NOT illegal in Ohio, or in any state in the nation as of August 2022. R-22 production and import was made illegal in 2020, but the refrigerant is still widely available and completely legal to use to refill existing systems. It is *recommended* that a leak inhibitor be used in addition to the refrigerant to help prevent additional leakage.
The wholesale cost of R-22 in Ohio is between $20-50 per pound these days. That is not the customer’s price, because companies need to make a profit and the refrigerant doesn’t install itself. Customers should expect to pay between $90-$150 per pound of R-22, including labor. If you have an average sized HVAC system (call it 3.5 tons), you’ll probably pay around $600 (including retrieval fees) for an R-22 refill. That’s a fair price these days, “over $1,000” is not.
I asked the American Air salesperson with whom I had an appointment scheduled if it would really cost over $1,000 to refill my R-22, and he avoided answering the question masterfully. After making it clear that I wanted a straight answer, he eventually told me that, “with repair costs”, refilling the R-22 could be well over $1,000. See the difference there? Who asked about repair costs? Superb dancing, but not what I wanted to hear from someone that I needed to trust to give me a fair price on my HVAC system replacement.
It’s one thing to give customers advice. To be clear, refilling my 23-year-old air conditioning system with R-22 probably isn’t the best thing for me, my home, or the environment, but giving a customer misleading information on the costs and/or legality of a product or service does not instill confidence in the company providing the service. I wanted to buy an HVAC system, but I also want to be able to trust the company that I hired. American Air lost my trust and my business.
If you want to have your R-22 refilled, don’t bother calling American Air. If you want to buy an HVAC system at a fair price from a company that you can trust is being honest with you, I recommend that you don’t bother calling American Air, or at least be very careful and get multiple bids.
I’ll give the same advice to the owners of American Air that I gave to the salesperson who was assigned to my project: Previous success is not an indication of future success, and misleading customers is the best way to lose business.
Don’t worry, I won’t charge you the $99 I paid for the “advice” your technician gave me. Calling it a “diagnostic”, especially considering the fact that the technician never even stepped foot in my basement to inspect the other half of my HVAC system, is a bit of a stretch.

They installed a heat pump/ AC in Oct of 2021 it has not workedat all.. There has been 6 service calls and now they are saying my furnace is bad. My furnace was running just fine before they did the install. So now I'm sitting here with NO HEAT NO AIR. . They should have told us on day 1 that our furnace was not compatible to there heat pump, at least I would still have heat.

American Air bought out a smaller company we had been using. I have been impressed with everyone I have dealt with, from their sales folks who didn't try to over sell me when my furnace died on the coldest day of the year a couple of years ago, to all of the technicians who have been back to maintenance the units. The most recent Tech (Joel) spent extra time to track down a problem that wouldn't be going on in a two-year-old unit (thankfully still under warranty). His diligence saved us from a bigger problem down the road.
American Air did all of the mechanicals in our home when it was built 7 years ago. We continue to use them for the follow up maintenance needed to keep the systems running properly. They all do a great job but their plumbing expert Shawn stands out. He's friendly, knowledgeable and gets the job done right every time!
Back in January I had Tom out to do a furnace cleaning. I was not happy because he was here about minutes and I feel he cut corners. I know for sure my sensor was not cleaned. He said my blower was bad and that he would give me a call for price. He did call and said it would be $900. I checked blower prices on line and the y ran about 100 dollars so I was very suspicious. I ended up getting a new furnace through Fire and Ice. He talked me into getting a service contract which really only meant that I would get and Air Conditioning check. I had a check up scheduled for today and low and behold Tom was my service person. He did not remove debris from inside the unit. Still leaves and gunk there. He did not clean my coils because he said he needed a hose to clean it. In all fairness my faucet was not working but he made no attempt to clean it at all. And he asked me about how much my furnace cost me which was not his business. I recommend Fire and Ice for professionalism.

I had a tech out to evaluate an isssue I was having with
two tankless water heaters on a house that was just purchased. I was not getting any hot water from either tank. The tech arrived at 11:27 found the isssue to be that the control wires were disconnected from the mother board. He plugged the wires in and the issue was solved and he left at 12:10 PM. My issue is not with the tech, but the pricing policy of the company. I was told that I would be charged a $100 service call for each hot water tank. The tech plugged in the wires to the mother board and I was charged an additional $98.
I paid a $298 invoice for 43 minutes of his time.
A very costly experience to plug in two wires.
Furnace went out one morning. Called American Air because they installed a new air conditioner a year and a half ago and we were pleased with the job. Service person came same day. He explained what was wrong and gave options for repair and replace. We decided to replace and that was done the next day. The company gave us different options for replacement. Price was reasonable. Installer was on-time and did an excellent job and kept the workspace clean. I recommend American Air to anyone.

Have you ever felt like you had been bamboozled or hornswoggled? I recently did business with American Air in Grove City. For $119 they said they would check my unit and clean it. When their employee checked the unit he told me it needed coolant and there was an iffy capacitor that he would provide at no charge (wink, wink) He then sat down with me and said that I should purchase the full year tune up and that it would allow me to purchase a maintenance plan that would cover every thing I needed at a discount. At no time did the gentleman offer an estimate for the repairs . He came back a few days later to add the coolant to the system and replace the capacitor. He was finished in a little over an hour. After he took my card for payment I asked him what he had done for the money I was paying him. He said he added coolant(how much?) and installed the capacitor and he had cleaned the coils. After he left I partially removed the AC housing and saw that he had only cleaned one of the four sides. I have the photos. I called to complain to the manager and instead my call was returned by the service guy. He returned the next day and did the job properly. I asked him why I had to purchase a package instead of being provided an estimate and he told me that nobody does that anymore, it was old school. Not true, it says they give free estimates on their website.
The man had looked me in the eye and lied to me twice. I'm a senior citizen and I should have known better so shame on me, but I will never do business with American Air again and neither should you. Like everybody else in this world I just want to get what I pay for. What started as an AC tune up, basically cleaning and seeing if any repairs were necessary turned into $874, $99 for the check up, $775 for the service package.

I’ve had American Air maintain the HVAC on my house since it was built. They do good work, are great at scheduling and always follow thru on what they promise. Their charges seem to be competitive and they offer additional services like plumbing and electrical if needed. The same repairman, Tom, has done all the work on my system for years. It’s great to see a familiar face when dealing with the maintenance of your house

They charged us $600.00 to maintenance on our AC Unit replaced a part that would have cost much less else where. I am very mad just found out we got ripped off. The worst thing is the way he presented him self giving us a price after the work was done then wanted to buy our house. He wasn't here to buy our house he was here to service our AC Unit which isn't that old. They are crocks just makes me mad. He was here maybe 20 minutes if that. We just had our heating system serviced for much less then they charged total rip off they over charge. The guy that serviced our heating system was here 30 or 45 minutes charged $139.00 did a great job told us everything he did, and showed us. American Air wanted over $200.00 for maintenance on our heating system if I wanted these crocks over here again. Won't be calling them again. Makes me mad companies take advantage of people. Also he wanted 1400.00 to 2000.00 to service our AC Unit he made me think he was giving me a deal for the $600.00 after speaking with others found out we were ripped off. Just sickening the sales tactics they use to rip people off. I am in sales know the sales process, and I do not do business like this give an honest price every time. Use My Heating and Cooling if you want an honest service with an affordable price. They are wonderful. I have told everyone I know how American Air ripped me off they all said yep you got ripped off. Use My Heating and Cooling they are so good at an affordable prices.

We had called to have American Air come out and do an inspection on our system, as we hadn't had one done for years. The scheduling was easy and Jason W called prior to coming, per our request. He showed up during the time they had stated he would and was extremely courteous. He was extremely professional and then took the time to explain what he had done. Great job American Air--great customer service from start to finish.
I was able to schedule my service easily online when it best fit my schedule. Tom came within the scheduled time frame after a call alerting me to his impending arrival. He checked my equipment and found an issue which he was able to make a recommendation for resolution and scheduled to complete in less than a week. I am very happy with the service I receive from American Air.

Store hours are terrible for working people. Says they close at 430pm during the week, pulled up to the door at 428pm and the doors were locked and phones were turned off. Wasted 35 minutes driving here to replace a filter that they are the only ones who keep in stock. Awful to feel forced into buying expensive filters at a store across town instead of being able to buy online or in any hardware store. Would love for a manger to reach out to me if possible.

Nick did a great job, he arrived early, got started, and exceeded expectations. I have used American Air to service my equipment for 10+ years and have never had any problems. They did a great job on both my AC and Water Heater replacements. I completely recommend.

Your response is a lie. The technician definitely quoted closer to $3k for the parts and labor. Said he didn't have the sequencers (even thought when I call the service manager he said they do have the sequencers).
The technician most definitely did not put the furnace back together and left everything open and unsafe. I have 3 small children that could've put there hands into the open air handler.
He never offered to fix anything, he in fact said there was nothing he could do because he doesn't have the parts. I DID NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DECLINE SERVICE. NONE WAS OFFERED!
For the record I still haven't received my refund!
Completely disappointed with the terrible service I received. I called for an inspection for my furnace and the technician left the sequencers unscrewed and the furnace left open when he left. I had to put everything together after he was gone.
-He told me I had a refrigerant leak without even checking for leaks. I had to locate the leak myself. Tried to tell me my furnace wasn't registered for warranty (when it is).
-He quoted around $3000.00 to purchase sequencers and check for a leak. (Sequencers are anywhere from $30-$70 apiece).
-Charged me $99 and didn't even provide a receipt or write up for what was done. I called to ask for my receipt and it took 5 days to finally get it.
-I brought up several of my complaints to the service manager and he denied them and said his technician disagrees and wouldn't lie to him.
-If you are looking for a reputable company to handle your HVAC needs, please look somewhere else.
The technicians were prompt, courteous, pleasant and professional. Matt explained the problem with the system and kept me informed of what they were doing and the status of the repair work. My wife and I were very impressed with the workmanship and efficiency of the repair. If repair of our air conditioner, furnace and plumbing becomes necessary, I will call America Air to conduct the repair.

We signed up for the annual maintenance/cleaning program for our A/C and furnace. On a routine inspection, the technician discovered that we had a natural gas leak. We worked with Jeff to get estimates for replacing our 28 year old furnace and air conditioner. Jeff gave us a number of options and all of the prices were reasonable. American Air was able to complete the job within days of making our final decision. The technicians, the office staff who helped with financing and scheduling, and Jeff were all knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient.
I have been a customer of American Air for several years now, and have always found their staff to be customer friendly and knowledgeable. My most recent service was a tune-up/inspection on my emergency generator they installed a year ago. As usual, the technician arrived on time (after giving me a call that he was on the way), took care of business, and was out the door in less than an hour. I will continue to look to American Air for my heating, cooling and plumbing needs and would highly recommend them to anyone.
My American Air Service representative was Tom K and he was timely on arrival and called before he came to alert to me regarding his arrival. He performed the necessary inspection on my AC system and informed me that our system checked out and no repairs were needed. No leaks were discovered also. Highly recommend this company for their customer service and repairs only as needed to keep my HVAC system operating properly.
We had a great experience this week with American. Travis was at my home and had diagnosed and fixed the issue in about ten minutes. We were glad to have our Ac unit back up and running again on such a hot day. Professional, courteous, and able to quickly resolve problems. This is how you get return customers.
I called at 12:30pm on a day that was 18 degrees outside. My furnace was out and the temp in the house was dropping fast. Tammy was my first contact and she was so helpful in arranging for someone to come out that afternoon. By 3pm Joe had my furnace up and running and gave me lots of useful advice regarding our unit. The cost was more than reasonable. We have a service contract with American Air which helped but it was still great to get such fast, helpful, efficient service. I would highly recommend them for both heating and AC.

We used American Air to install a couple center ceiling fixtures (one inside, one on our front porch) and an outdoor outlet on the porch. The installer, Joe, was awesome! He was very professional, did great work, cleaned up nicely afterwards and even mounted my ceiling fans - I was expecting to do that myself. The price was very reasonable and we're very happy with the finished product. Who knew that American Air did electric work?!? I'm glad we were referred by a friend, we have already referred some other friends.

My furnace went out due to a power surge and American Air Heating was the only company I could get to come out same day. Tony worked effortlessly to help my family get a new furnace installed later that week and get us back in our home before Christmas! He was a pleasure to work with and highly recommended!
The technician, Tom, and his assistant arrived per their notice, quickly diagnosed the problem with the fan for my furnace. Estimated the cost and came back the same day and quickly and efficiently repaired fixed the problem. Tom was competent, friendly and sympathetic to my situation. Very professional excellent results. American Air is an excellent company that delivers in the most professional way. Heather was a joy to work with on scheduling and answering questions. Tom K Is an outstanding technician, highly qualified, professional and very personable. No need to consider anyone else.....American Air exceeds expectations.
The technician was prompt and polite, but the company does not favor the customer nor employee. I get the impression that American Air takes advantage of the lack of customer and employee understanding. I had a simple coil replacement job that needed done. I was quoted from a pricing chart that ran anywhere from $2915 up to $5830 minus the price of the warrantied coil (so $2500 - $5400). What! I asked for the company's general hourly rate, knowing that the coil replacement shouldn't take more than 4 hours. I was told around $200/hour. If that was the case they job should cost $800 plus the cost of additional refrigerant. But the poor tech isn't authorized to setup the service at an hourly rate. American Air doesn't even tell him the true hourly rate. Why would they when they are charging $200 per hour and paying him $15/hour. So I called the service manager to get the true cost and schedule service. I am routed to voicemail. A day later and I never received a call back. At this point I without AC for 3 days. I have had enough and decide to call another company. Sure enough, they quote me $600 to $800 in total to do the work. They gentleman that shows up to look at the job even tells me that he used to work for American Air. I wonder why he left.
Same day service. Price quoted over the phone was accurate. Tech was very professional and knowledgeable. Tech was quick to troubleshoot and diagnose the issue and was helpful with deciding how to deal with the issue (my Nest thermostat was the culprit and he advised to contact the company for a replacement as he had heard they had known equipment issues). One quick call to Nest and my replacement thermostat is in the mail. Tech also showed me how to temporarily fix the issue until my new thermostat arrives. I feel he went above and beyond. They even called the following day to ask about my experience.

Great Service, Jason W did very good job explaining my furnace and AC unit. Gave me ideas to help save me money in the future. I have been using this company for years. They have done HVAC, plumbing and electrical work for me. I will call them anytime I need service. I called them and they were able to come out the next day.
I use American Air for my home and two rental homes. They have always done an excellent job. Most recently one of my renters noticed the AC was running continuously. I called American Air and they were able to go out the next day. The tech called me and said the cost of the service needed would exceed the cost of a service agreement so it would be beneficial to me to buy the service agreement and then he would apply this service call under the service agreement. The service agreement also entitled me to a furnace check up that I used later in the year.
James was very friendly and did a good job of servicing my furnace. He arrived on time and did a good job.

Called American to have them come out to look at a problem I was having with my hardwired smoke detectors. They were able to send someone out promptly. Brandon G. was very professional and identified the problem quickly. I was able to get the repair scheduled soon after the initial diagnosis and everything is now working great. Thanks to American and Brandon G. for a job well done.
Matt called before arriving at my house. He arrived on time. Matt is a very professional yet personable individual. He knows his job and is very thorough in his duties. I enjoyed having Matt in my home and welcome him back any time. An extremely pleasant experience and I highly recommend him to everyone.
We had a new furnace and central air installed by American Air. They were very professional and courteous. They also installed a new stand pipe in our basement. Everything was reasonable priced. They explained their work and answered all of our questions. We would definitely hire them again.

While they were a little later than our scheduled time (to fix my A/C), it was also the hottest day of the year, so I couldn't really complain too much. Once he arrived, he was quick, polite, willing to answer all my questions and probably would have stayed there an hour if I'd needed him to even though his day (Saturday) had been extended as well. They were kind and understanding when it came to billing issues too, which I greatly appreciated. I've been a customer since at least 2010, maybe longer.
Another great experience! We just converted our second furnace from electric to gas...American Air did a fabulous job. Very reasonable pricing, very easy to work with, and reliable service techs!

As a former Senior Vice-President of a major Consumer Electronics Company, I certainly realize and recognize great customer support and service. Travis epitomizes this statement. I called in the morning and someone was out to give me an estimate within hours. Once the estimate was discussed, I was told he could begin right away. In short amount of time my ceiling fans were up and running. Joe was GREAT! He was very concientious of my house, wearing booties over his shoes, laying tarps to protect my carpet and furniture. I have already recommended American Air to my friends.
Larry did an amazing job! We had a lot of plumbing issues and he took care of everything in one day. He is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He cleaned up and hauled off all of the old stuff too. When I returned home from work, I couldn't even tell he had been there except for all new plumbing fixtures and all working properly. I will recommend Larry and American Air to all of my friends and will request Larry for any future issues we may have. Thanks again!
Called because water was backing up in the kitchen sink and disposal. My call was answered within two rings and I was scheduled within 10 minutes of calling to have Kevin out the next day to make the repair.
Kevin called ahead just like I was told and he said it would be about an hour before he arrived. He was on time, asked a few questions, looked around upstairs and down. We had already cleared the contents from under our sink so he could get right to work.
After about 90 minutes of persistent effort and going through multiple options to find the clog, he found it and removed it.
The price was fair, the service was great and American Air continues to be my go to company for Plumbing, HVAC around our home.

Wow! Talk about fast and friendly service. I had an employee come to our front office at about 2:30 pm to say that there was a pretty bad leak in the men's room at our facility and that they couldn't get it to stop. After taking a look, we realized that we needed to call the professionals. We called American Air and they put us down for an emergency visit. Within an hour, they were on our property and fixing the problem. They had to drain the water from our building to do their repair but were nice enough to turn the water back on so my filthy mechanics could wash up to leave for the day. The gentleman got the problem fixed in no time. I am so thankful that we had American Air in our contact list of places to call because we sure did get fast and friendly service. I'll be sure to recommend them to anyone who needs help with their heating, cooling and plumbing needs.
I have been working with American Air and more specifically, Tom K, for many years. Tom is extremely friendly and feels like part of the family. He not only knows his HVAC stuff, but has gone out of the way to help us on several occasions when our heating or AC went out. I highly recommend both Tom and American Air.

I called American Air on a Wednesday evening about my A/C unit had frozen up. The gentleman on the phone explained it would cost $150 for someone to show up that night or we could wait until morning to allow the unit to unthaw and get a proper diagnosis right away this would be the $99 rate. Matt arrived at 9:15 the next morning found the issue quickly, the A/C was up and running fine by 11. American Air did not try and up sale anything, they were totally honest. We are considering getting a maintenance package to have them come twice a year to make sure our HVAC are in working order. Thank you for your promptness and professionalism.
Tom has done all of the PM on our furnace/AC since we had it installed. He's always on time and friendly. I would recommend him and American Air to anybody having a problem with their system.
The technician was a nice enough guy, and I know the prices quoted weren't necessarily his fault..(he should probably seek employment with a better company) Anyway... I called American Air out two days ago, for a leaking faucet in one of our bathrooms. He was transparent in the initial pricing...$190ish for a replacement valve assembly... Cut to 30 minutes later... he claimed he couldn't get one of the nuts off that attached to the assembly, he claimed it had essentially welded itself onto the metal. The quote shot to $600 and he stated that he would have to do a whole lot more.(cut into the drywall, knock some stuff out, etc.)
I sent the guy home... And paid the $99 diagnostic What a joke, thanks American Air.
Well guess what? Called another plumbing company out today and he gave me a quote of $260... Sawed the nut off that was irremovable replaced it, and had it fixed in 20 minutes.
I had two more jobs that needed done as well, and the quote American Air gave me were just plain nuts...
$200 for replacing a flapper in the tank of a toilet
$200 for a CLOGGED garbage disposal.
Both which were quoted wayyyyy way lower from the competition.
Please do yourself a favor and stay far, far away.
I had a whole house humidifier installed and the technician was very friendly and explained the installation process and how long it would take. He completed the job on time and everything looked great! The humidifier is up and running and working like a charm!

Had American Air and Heat out to do a panel service upgrade. Electrician's name was Lonnie. Lonnie was amazing, Couldnt ask for a more knowledgeable and professional electrician. While performing the work, He encountered probably one of the most Bizarre and unexpected situations anyone could have done. When he disconnected the guide wire from my house, the Pole that supplied the guide wire and power ended up toppling over onto my fence and into my neighbors yard.
Luckily Lonnie had already disconnected everything so no additional damage was done. After Lonnie and my self collected ourselves after what had just transpired, we inspected the remnant of the pole. Completely dry rotted. Lonnie explained that he believe that the pole was already broken or was to weak to support itself and thus my meter was supporting that pole. He felt that there was far to much tension on that guide wire to begin with. Luckily this happened when he was out there and during good weather cause had it happened during a storm or during the winter, there would have been devastating damage to my house as the meter and pole would have been ripped off and taken a large chunk of roof with it.
After all this......HE STILL COMPLETED THE WORK! He recollected himself, Made the appropriate calls to AEP. Finished his work about 3pm, Still had to wait for AEP to come out but All power was restored by about 7pm.
If your looking for a Electrican or HVAC/Heat, I highly recommend American Air, And highly recommend Lonnie as the electrician.

Our hot water heater died, and we have been trying to decide whether to go with the tank or tankless models of hot water heaters. The technician came out to provide us with estimates for each. However, he was unable to give us a complete estimate for the tankless model. On the whole, the technician was prompt, polite, professional and knowledgeable on the subject. We were looking for a more exact estimate.
Larry arrived early and we discussed the plumbing issue. He was very professional, covered many options to address the solution and worked quietly and on task. He calmly answered all my questions and supplied details on how the plumbing issue would be corrected.

American Air performed service on my 87 year old father's AC July 5th. He was overcharged hundreds of dollars for services not needed. After weeks and 5 calls, Joe, the service manager contacted him back and promised money back, blaming his tech, Tom, for the overcharge. I called back the following week, and was told the same thing. Nothing was itemized on the bill for over $900 for low Freon. Joe admitted at least a $395 overcharge for services rendered previously under warranty. This call took place almost 2 weeks ago and no refund has been issued and no return calls from Joe. We've disputed with the credit card company. Terrible customer service! Shame on American Air for taking advantage of a senior citizen!!!!

My tankless water heater stopped working. I called for a diagnostic and described that I needed to check the gas pressure and that I needed someone familiar with the machines. They sent someone without tools to check the gas and in 3 minutes, he was happy to charge me $99 to tell me the water heater wasn't working. He offered to call the same 800 number from the manufacturer that I was talking to to troubleshoot for $149 per hour. What a waste of time and money.
I had a complete HVAC system installed by American Air. They did a tremendous job with preparation, installation and clean-up after the job ! What a fantastic team effort from start to finish. I highly recommend American Air for your heating, ventilation and air conditioning needs.
It's a super job performed by Jason W. for the heating unit in our house. We have been bugged by the intermittent issue of the heat didn't come out even though the unit was humming to be energized to kick the heat on. It was Jason did a thorough checks and figured out to further check the air inlet pipe. He was right! Not enough oxygen to help the burner to catch the flame. He also evaluate the humidifier and found out the cause of water leakage. A great job done by Jason. We like his service, nice and courteous.

Showed up on 3 different occasions with out a ladder knowing they had a roof top unit. Last time tech needed to call for another tech to bring a ladder total time waiting on them at this point was 4 hours from promise time. Then the tech didnt know how to read a volt meter...in addition the tech said the a electrical relay was leaking oil. Really....leaking oil. Almost 1,800 dollars estimated for parts....curcuit board , motor, and relays.. Come to find out it was a motor for $600 from Techno Air fixed the problem....
Thanks Techno Air for not screwing us...
After speaking with American Air manager he still charged us with a service call that i lost 6 hours total time off from work do poor service from American Heating.

I've tried this company for several items (plumbing, electrical work, heating and air) and every time it's been a worse experience. I kept trying to like them because I like the idea of using one company for all my home maintenance issues. The people that take the appointments do not listen or rely the right information to the technicians, so when they come out to do a job they have no idea what's going on.
For example, I called to do a tune up on my heat pump, made an appointment and told the lady we had a an all electrical system (no gas). The technician that came out had never worked one a heat pump or electric furnace before- he did nothing and actually did damage to our heat pump. Such a waste of $100!
This is just one example. Every time we have used this company there has been some sort of issue. Never again!
Don't waste your time and money- go elsewhere!!

Our rheem ac is out - called a contractor on our home builder's list (American Air)
- Wants $2000 all together for labor for a $500 defective part which is covered under
warranty - many rockford home owners with the same problem. Rockford won't help us at
all. Most contactors that I have called either want us to go back to the builders contractor
or want just as much money, or won't give me a quote on the phone, and we've already paid the
builders contractor $380.
Update- Found an honest contractor that replaced the coil for $700 with a year warranty,
compared to $2000 with a 6 month warranty - February REALLY????.
What a scam. Even quoted the price before coming out - as long as they agreed
on what the problem was, as American Air initially told us the wrong part last
Friday, but after questioning and pressing them about a leak, he came back and said yes
there is a leak in the evaporator coil. Luckily we did so or else we would have been
back in the same situation next summer. As they only wanted to give us a 6 mo. warranty,
February - really. Who uses the air conditioner then. He also jacked up the price of labor
from $780 to $2000.Not happy that we have to go thru this or pay anything for a 2 year old
house with a defective part, but at least not as much with this contractor. Won't use anyone
on Rockford's list anymore, and definitely will not use American Air. Should have known better,
but I had to use someone to cover the warranty (at least the part), thought I was doing the best
thing by going back to the builder's contractor. Again, should have known better.
Rep was very professional, he did a great job.

We had 2 ceiling light fixtures installed in our upstairs bedrooms. Very professional and didn't even leave a mess! We were extremely happy with the service. Thanks American Air!
We were having an issue with our thermostat constantly shutting down and resetting so we had American Air come out and look into the issue. They put the heating and cooling into our new home. The technician arrived at our home on time and quickly determined the reason for our issue: a dirty filter. The dirty filter was causing the furnace to overheat which caused the furnace shut down, which cause the thermostat to reset. Felt really dumb that a dirty filter caused such an issue, but the technician was very nice about the whole thing and even provided a new filter.

Quick service. Knowledgeable and took care to make sure we had heat before he left even though he could not fix the issue that day. Had to come back the next day after a parts order and completed the job quickly. Would absolutely recommend.
Homeowners proceed with caution! Their proprietary structured pricing sounds like a scam and in my case I was given misleading information to try to get sold additional services that were not needed. After some basic research into what service they performed and what I paid, I feel like I was duped. I feel even worse for the people that fall for these tactics. I have used them in the past for maintenance and had been pleased, but I need to have someone I can trust so I will look elsewhere in the future.

GOUGED IN GROVE CITY!!!
My furnace wouldn't ignite so I called American Air. The technician called and arrived within 30 minutes. So far I am very satisfied. There is snow on the ground, cold outside and getting colder in my house. Within 2 minutes I am told the ignitor is bad and he thinks he has one in the truck. I am very happy I might have heat again soon. He tells me the part is $221 on top of the $99 service call. Now I'm not so happy because I know the part doesn't cost near that but what am I suppossed to do. I have a wife and 3 children that can't come home because the house is too cold. He puts the part in and in total he spent 30 minutes at my house. He leaves and I research the part (yes I have him leave the old one and the box the new one came in). The part is $20. I was told it was some special ignitor and that they cost more. I called back because I thought there was a mistake. I was never given an estimate and I was never told they charge a flat rate for service. In fact when I called to ask for an estimate I was told it depends on what is wrong. I was not able to speak with a Manager and the lady on the phone was really rude. All I wanted was to be treated fair and not taken advantage of. Total bill was $320 for a $20 part and $600/hour labor (remember he was only here for 30 minutes). They also do electric and plumbing and now I know why. They are really good at flushing your hard earned money down the drain.
Mr.Todd is a very nice guy. He helped me to repair our generator. I like the service he provides. And all of the staffs of the American Air Hearing,Cooling, electric very nice. Thanks!

American Air's customer service was very friendly and helpful. The technician was courteous and his work of installing a whole house humidifier was of top quality.

i always dread having to deal with plumbing, heating, electric and even appliance issues primarily because i don't understand anything about them. i almost always think i'm being taken advantage off because they know that i don't know jack. so if i find a technician, a company or even better, a local business that i can trust, i'm not only a customer for life, but i'll recommend them to anyone willing to listen.
i had zero issues with my furnace, but no matter, when the weather takes a dip i can't sleep at times thinking that the furnace will stop working at the worst possible moment.
i went down to change the filter and for some reason started looking around at the furnace and discovered a sticker with dated service calls. i noticed two things, one, they were done once a year and two the last one was at the end of the 90's!
i got wind of american air heating cooling electric and plumbing (say that three times) from a couple of local friends here in grove city. i also learned that the dude attends my church and i got good words about the company, so i figured how far can he run from me if i was not a happy camper. so several weeks later after the last cold spell and many sleepless nights, i called for a service visit.
even though i felt a bit more relaxed about this company, i still worried that once the tech would get one look at my furnace, i'd get dinged. old habits are hard to break.
to my surprise and delight the furnace was just fine and the tech told me so. i asked him, so i don't need a new furnace? he said no, it should be fine. i paid a very reasonable, peace-of-mind price.
my furnace is over 20 years old and i know it's headed south and eventually it's going to either break or continue to become less efficient. so on my own i asked if they could sent someone over to give me an estimate if i had to replace the furnace sometime down the line. the financial consultant dave ramsay, always recommends to save in advance for emergencies. and since i'll be saving, when i need a new furnace, it won't be an emergency.
a day of so later another dude from their company visited to make the estimate. it's a big ticket item to be sure but i feel way better about dealing with these guys, now that i feel that i can trust them and they have a track record with me.
estimate still pending but one thing is for sure, i'm not waiting for the next cold spell, i'm having a furnace evaluation and inspection annually.

We have used American Air for a number of home problems such as replacing the sump pump, replacing our air conditioner, adding a gas line for a new stove, etc. We have always been pleased with everyone who has come to our house and the quality of work performed for the price. They are our first call when anything goes wrong.

Joe did an excellent job doing annual checkup of our heating, humidifier and got water tank systems. Very thorough and very professional.
Two weeks of misdiagnosis and failed arrivals while my Grandmother (who is a cancer patient) sits in her 88 degree house. Ended up stating the the motor had failed and pushed to have an entire new unit installed. Contacted another company who confirmed the motor was fine and the capacitor was the issue, which they fixed same day. Do yourself a favor and forget this company exists.

Tech showed up 40 minutes late. After doing the $99 diagnostic, found a dirty flame sensor. Was charged an additional $125 for the tech to take off 1 screw , and then cleaned flame sensor with a plumber's brush and emery cloth, which took a few minutes to do. Felt I was over charged for the service of the cleaning a flame sensor, when I could of got a new one installed for $160. I will let you be the judge as to if you want to call this company to service you HVAC or plumbing needs.

Called American Air for a service appointment because my furnace was sporadically kicking on. They scheduled an appointment and sent a service tech out who cleaned the furnace and it is working perfectly now. Thanks American Air.

Have had American Air doing the Furnace and AC for about 15 years or so, they do a very good job, always been satisfied with their work. They also put a furnace in for me several years ago.
Had 4 techs on 3 visits.. first tech called himself a dumb ass 3 to 4 times. freaked me out saying this is bad this is bad you are going to need all new wiring and with the finished basement that is going to cost a lot 10 mind later I am a dumb ass, it's your AD unit so he unhooked some wires from that. ... guess what he's a dumb ass... now it's my thermostat that I just replaced two days prior. I asked him to double check my wiring and I did have one wire wrong (lol now who's the dumb ass) so he went down and put a new fuse in and what do you know nothing blow a fuse (2nd one) so I asked him why is it blowing a fuse he stated he was not sure (surprised! ?) nope you got it dumb ass so like the common sense person I am I asked him to knock out the common sense stuff first so he tested a few wires pushed some buttons and finally finally turned the blower motor and he (we?) got it figured out. he said it would take a day to get the part in I told him no big deal it's out of your control when can we have it in he told me tomorrow so I set appointment up for 12 to 5 for next day he told his dispatcher and not to charge us $100 service call because he feels like a dumbass service charge was waved ... The two men that showed up next day had a better understanding of what was going on they said they had two different motors they will check and make sure that they are correct sure enough not correct they told me they will call the company off Hudson road their supplier and they will have to pull the parts that will cost $100 but we will eat that cost. I told them do what you have to do they SAT for almost two hours outside waiting for a phone call back never heard back from the supplier so furnace torn apart told me they will be back on Monday I explained to them that is fine once again out of your control someone else messed up they apologised I asked to have one of the two men come back on Monday they said they will let their dispatch know but it was highly unlikely I left a voicemail for them on Sunday letting them know I will not have anyone at the house until 11 a.m. They said that's fine we will have someone there around noon 1245 pm no one has shown up I called their office and spoke to a lady explain to her someone was supposed to be there at 12 and no ones there she said you have a 12 to 5 appointment I said no 12 o'clock can I speak to the lady I spoke to this morning she explained my appointment was after 12 I argued nicely and said okay.... Tech showed up 1 hour later different tech of course install new furnace blower after asking for a discount they said no they discounted parts and waved first appointment fee total cost of savings of $200 that is fine great save me $200 but I took 2 days off and my wife took one day off $200 does not cover 2 days off of work understand one day is the first day that's on me second day had to order parts expecting to be completed so really third day is on American air needless to say furnace is running good bad customer service very bad sorry for the long rant but it was very stressful 49 degrees in my house for 6 days wife and kid left town to stay with family

These guys are crooks. A part that normally costs $25 retail, they charged $251 dollars for. Price gouging at its best. Not to mention the $199 service call. $450 in total for a service call. My suggestion find someone else who aren't out to rape you.
We had a great experience with American Air.
Our air conditioner went out just before we had family coming for a reunion.
American Air moved us ahead in their schedule and got it fixed in time.
My service tech was prompt, new what he needed, Had to order the part & come back to install & worked very well with my busy schedule.
I would certainly recommend American Air.

Ed came to the house and was professional. He took time to explain to me what he was doing and why he was doing it. He answered my questions. He even went the extra step of removing all of the dust from the main unit by hand as he was testing the various components.

Woke up on a Sunday with no Heat 10 Degrees out side We have two little ones. I called American Air Heating, Cooling, Electric & Pluming. Tom called back and was here within an Hour. Tom K found the issue and got Heat back to our House. Came back out on Monday to replace the Part. I will always call American Air they have always fixed the what was needed and Very Professional.

AMERICAN INSTALLED NEW FURNACE, THE INDUCER MOTOR MADE A LOT OF NOISE VIBRATION COULD BE FELT AN FLOOR ABOVE, SERVICE MAN SAID IT WAS NORMAL. THE INDUCER MOTOR JUST FAILED, REPLACED WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. NEVER USE AMERICAN AIR. zero stars.
Couldn't meet the 4 hour window they scheduled to show up. They never called, and 8 hours later they're still not here. That's not respectful of my time.

Problem: No heat. Technician called to setup time. He arrived on time. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Very satisfied with the service and the technician.
Had my yearly furnace tune up . Was very pleased with the technician.
I was pleased with the service provided. Very professional, on time and did a good job. I will recommend them and use them again.
Buyer beware. Get a 2nd quote!!!
