This is my second encounter with this company and both experiences have been awesome! They are knowledgeable, professional, and actually try to help you solve your problem without overcharging. This is my go to plumbing company and will recommend to my friends, coworkers, and family!

The folks at Kirkwood Plumbing are great. Over the years I have been able to work with all their plumbers, offices staff and even the owner. I found them all to be just the type of people I want to give my business to. I recommend them all the time to friends and neighbors because I respect their work that much. Journeyman Plumber, Mike Harris, did a great job. Very professional very knowledgeable and has multiple years experience. The leaky pipe was in a precarious area and he was able to remedy the situation without having to cut through drywall ceiling. I'll use Mike again.

Great service- very professional and friendly. Our hot water heater went out over the weekend. I called Kirkwood Plumbing this morning at 8AM, and they had a plumber at my house by 8:45. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it right away. No more cold showers in January!

I was impressed with the communication and the professionalism of everyone I dealt with. They were able to address the job very quickly as well, which is why I chose them.
My only complaint is the high cost. This was a pretty simple job of replacing my outside faucet with a new frost free one and adding a different cut off valve. It only took about an hour and my charge was $589. My water main had to be shut off while I tried to find a plumber, so I was not in a position to get multiple bids. I do recommend the company, however, if cost is a concern, I would get bids before using Kirkwood. In the future, if I have plumbing needs, I will get bids, but I will consider Kirkwood among them.

I called Tuesday night around 4pm. They were here the next day at 840am. It was not an emergency but was very happy to get it fixed so quickly.

I was very happy they were NOT Roto Rooter.

There is a void of good plumbers in the NW STL County area. We ended up with a cracked stack pipe that needed to be replaced ASAP. I called everyone in the area I could find and asked anyone I could for recommendations. Barely got any response from other plumbers and a few were clearly scheming [Trio Plumbing refused to give us a written quote=SKETCHY].

At any rate, Kirkwood said that they DO service the Overland area and had a technician [Michael] arrive within like 30 minutes of me calling! He was very professional and clearly had a drive to do the job WELL and up to code. Even better, they didn't charge to just come take a look at it and give an estimate [Others, like Hoffman Plumbing, which we will never use again, charge to come out and give a quote. Awful.]

Michael was able to arrive on the next business day with one other crew member and they fixed the whole thing, and even some related smaller issues with a tub drain, in one day. They were very prompt, very professional, detail oriented, and the price was better than what some of the shadier companies in the area were quoting.

Kirkwood will be our go-to plumbers going forward and I feel confident recommending them to anyone else in the area. Thanks!

The lady that answers the phone was obviously having a horrible day. Twice interrupted me during my attempt to use their service. Once to put me on hold which was fine and then asks me how can they help. I go to explain I have a simple request to come out and snake my pipe as she interrupts she says well not to be rude but? Completely blew me off. I've paid other companies $250 to come out and do that job in 30 minutes and just wanted to see if they could do it less expensive. Never before calling a business has somebody been that short with me before I got ten words out of my mouth. I'll pass! I'm in sales and that's not how you earn business. I live 2 miles from here but I'll call somebody that cares :)

Dustin installed two bathrooms and did some repairs elsewhere in the house. He was knowledgeable, through, professional, friendly, and in tune to me plumbing needs.

Their tech spoke of a repair costing over $1500 after not even looking down inside of the vanity!
I spent $15. at Ace hardware for a replacement trap and rubber sleave to connect it to the drain pipe and about 2.5 hours later the job is done. Much better than their FLAT rate.
Beware of these companies that only charge a FLAT rate because if the job takes a lot less time than they thought...You won't get a lower price. Highway robbery is what we used to call this.

Toilet clogged yit was opened in about 10 minutes.

One of my toilets starting leaking from the shut off valve. Kirkwood Plumbing fixed it for a reasonable price.

Despite being extremely busy they were able to fix our pipe same-day. Knowledgeable and efficient.

The young man was professional and able to fix the problem.

Noticed water on the floor in the basement near the sewage pipe from the two bathrooms above. Assumed blockage and called them as an emergency. They were at the house within 20 minutes and identified the problem to be a bad hose to the toilet leaking water to the basement. Simple solution but it could have been much worse. Happy for their quick response. Paid only for the call plus parts since it took less than 15 minutes. Would use them again.

Kirkwood Plumbing didn't show up, Mr Rooter showed up. The plumber came in looked at the tank and said he could work on it because it was out of warranty. That's like taking my truck for an oil change and being told it's past the warranty so all they can do is sell me a new truck. Then he charged me $60... to do nothing. I paid him his money and told him we would get someone who wasn't just out for a payday come out and that because he did nothing and charged us that we not consider his company (Mr Kirkwood Plumbing Rooter) if we did need a new tank. He said he'd have his manager call me to see if he could do anything. I have no idea what that means because I just wanted him gone and of course no one ever called.

The three other plumbers we called had never heard of a plumber not being able to do anything but install a new water heater because it was out of warranty.

My sump pump stopped working. Story came over and we tinkered with it and got it moving again. He didn’t try and push a new pump, but did give me a Quonset a new one if interested.

After minor hiccup with office, I was very pleased with the work done which was repair of entire plumbing stack and sewer line inside the basement. Special thanks to Glenn, Eric, Brandon, Dakota, and Nick for a job well done. Would recommend to friends and family.

I found myself in a pinch on a Friday an afternoon, I just had surgery and the toilet tank on my main floor cracked and the valve wouldn’t shut off so I could clear the tank. The team at Kirkwood plumbing had a plumber there in 45 min. The valve was repaired and Trent came back to install the replacement toilet a few days later. Very responsive, respectful, and helpful in my time of need. I would highly recommend them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am a commercial landlord (so I'm familiar with the trades). We had a car crash into our home and needed a PVC drain pipe repaired in our crawl space. The 1st appointment was set for Fri. 10/7. After waiting several hours I called to verify that the plumber was still coming. I was put on hold and when the operator came back she said YES the plumber would be there within the hour. Another hour went by when I got a call that the plumber could not make it at all. I waited for him from Noon till 4pm. Another appointment was set for 8:30am the next day. Plumber Dylan arrived on time, checked out the repair and said About an 1.5 to 2 hours for the repair plus 6' of PVC. He then said he had to write up an estimate. After a few minutes in his truck, he came back with a cost of $850 !!! ??? So $50 worth of PVC/fittings plus 2 hours of labor is $850...That comes out to $400 per hour!! His only explanation is that they do not charge by the hour but by the job... BEWARE, this company is preying on those who know nothing about the job being done. A total scam (at best) or outright thievery (at worst). Call a real plumber who will quote you an hourly rate.

I had to get my home winterized for the season. Curtis was great and very knowledgeable. Terrific overall experience. I even enjoyed listening to him sing while he worked.

We had a slow bathroom drain, and in my attempt to fix it I created a leak. We called KP, the serviceman was here the next morning, early, and fixed the problem promptly. Sure, it was on the pricey side, but everything is pricey nowadays. Another plumber was going to charge $200 just for a service call and couldn't show up for a week. I recommend Kirkwood Plumbing.

We had a leaky tub that has dripped since we bought the house. It took them two days to fix what I would have thought was a routine problem. We picked them based off of past reviews. I know they recently got bought out or merged with a national chain. That may have contributed to the drop in quality.

Replaced the toilet and the main shutoff valve. Very pleasant and professional. Cleaned up and gave me the rundown of what they did.

Just had some old spouts and valves replaced. Great workmanship. Great service. Been using this company for decades for major and minor plumbing work. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Especially with my old house.

5 stars is not enough. Nice, professional, very competent, timely, etc... Kirkwood Plumbing - Mr Rooter was awesome. Curtis and Dylan were like the younger, nicer, plumbing versions of Batman and Robin. Curtis gave Yon leaky pipe a lean and hungry look... then it stopped leaking. Curtis then used his x-ray vision to see another problem, which I had not seen, and Dylan fixed it with some exotic machines. They were also nice in explaining how and why things were important. According to some local legislation somewhere, passing within 5 feet of Dylan or Curtis is equivalent to a college degree from Valparaiso.

We were updating fixtures in our bathroom remodel and Kirkwood Plumbing - Mr Rooter was awesome. They did a quote within a day and it was professional and on budget. The team that came out did a beautiful job. They were courteous and on time. I highly recommend choosing them as the first call. We will use them again for sure.

Couldn’t be more impressed with this company. Completely over communicated the whole time not only when they would be here but when the service tech did get here he was fast and efficient and fix my problem for a small service fee.

Used them for Water heater service as my pilot light would not come on. Good news is I also asked the tech if they did some pump service and they do and he immediately quoted me on the spot what it would take to replace my sub pump system. I will most definitely be using this company again.

My toilet is leaking less than a year after the installation. They also poor installed the fixtures in my bathtub that shook back and forth.

We had a small water issue discovered on Friday. The plumber was not able to get to our house until Sunday morning. We determined it was NOT a plumbing leak and we were not charged for the service call. I was very appreciative of that!

When they arrived, they listened to my issue and took the information that I had and solved the drain clog. Biggest thing for me was that they DID NOT dismiss my knowledge of my specific problem. They listened!!!

I don't hav an issue with the service. However I do have an issue with the $375 charge for less than 30 minutes of work to unclog a kitchen sink drain. Don't know if this is the going rate but seems extremely step for the job done in less than 30 minutes. Shame on me for not doing my research until later.... look for Budget Heating and Cooling St Louis who has a coupon for the same job at $99 (regular price $229).

$285 for a 20 minute visit to replace a $30 part, that they installed less than five years ago. I was told it was a set price-after it was installed. I'm no math wiz but I think that works out to be $750 an hour. I could live with a minimum one hour service charge but this was excessive.

We had a gas leak which most companies do not see with. They came out the next day and repaired the pipe quickly + quietly. Dustin was great to talk to, informed me about everything he was doing. He was also great with the kids + pets being nearby.

This place is essentially a scam. They charge a $59 visit fee to come to your property and then they will give you a fixed quote for your job; the visit fee is then applied to any work you have done. Fair enough. The scam is that if you ask ahead of time for rough hourly rates to try and determine if they are priced fairly they will tell you they don't have any set rates like that. Well let me tell you the real reason they wont give you any indication as to their cost of service is because its EXTREMELY high. My job was quoted to take 2 hours and cost almost $600 in labor alone. This is for a simple valve replacement. They said it worked out to $330 for the first hour and $250 every subsequent hour. I went with another local plumbing company that charged $150/hour. I never write reviews but took time out of my day to warn: STAY AWAY

Ended up with one of these guys contracted thru Angi. What a joke. They replaced the kitchen sink but wrecked the counter around the sink. They were an hour late and extremely expensive. After a full week finally resolved the issue by getting a full refund. Thanks.

Better than new—replaced three shower “cartridges” as they failed almost simultaneously. Showed up same day. Cost was within expectations for the job. Showers work better than ever—house was new construction and shower faucets did not operate as smoothly 6 years ago. Left bathrooms clean and tidy like he otherwise was never there.

Called them to do a commercial job for me because they claim they do commercial work all over their website. The ‘technician’ that showed up had zero clue what he was looking at and just took pictures for his project manager to write up an estimate. After waiting 2 weeks for a response I had to call several times to find out they weren’t interested in the job. They didn’t have the decency to even tell me. Wasted two weeks of my time on a multi million dollar job.

Company does not come through on their promises.

Great job with cleaning out our drain, however it was Roto rooter who came out. I guess they have some sort of agreement or they merged.

Kirkwood Plumbing was prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. We have used them on a few occasions and every time they fix the problem the first time.

We had a slight leak in a toilet. A plumber was sent the next day since it was not an emergency. The repair was made very efficiently with no mess. I recommend Kirkwood Plumbing and will use them again if I have a problem.

This is a renewed post. We had some communication issues first time around. But, they came through at the end. I appreciate the quick service on one of our main issues the 2nd day they made it out And they got back to us real quick with their bid on the rest of the project. Their master plumber was professional and had great ideas along with his apprentice. Stand up company. We will use them again for sure!

Quick and quality service!

Kirkwood Plumbing did a sewer job on a prior house we were pleased with, so when the sewer backed up on our new house they were our first call. They recommended cameraing the line, however they were three times the going rate for a camera. But they were there, so we had them do it. That's when their tech told us all the cast iron under the house was completely shot, missing sections, would all have to be replaced, quoting a 15k repair.

I sent their video to three other plumbers, and we had another company come out and recamera the line. All of them said the line was fine, and there was no need to rip apart the basement. It was just a simple soft blockage.

I'm not a plumber, and I know there can be differences of opinion. But everyone I talked to who wasn't trying to sell me on a 15k repair said the line was fine. I will say that the folks I talked to at Kirkwood Plumbing were very respectful, but continued to double down and insist I needed the repair. And the folks I talked with on the phone were talking about a single tree root (which the other company said was a tampon string), and were all talking very differently than the original tech. And they never refunded their original camera.

I'm really not sure what to make of their service. They were responsive and respectful, but very expensive, and tried to sell me on a repair that everyone else I talked to said I didn't need. Perhaps time will prove them right, but for now I cannot recommend their services.

Edit: After posting this review, I was contacted immediately by Kirkwood Plumbing, and after talking with the gentleman was offered a refund of my camera, said it would go through in a couple of days. However, it took nearly three weeks and another call to their accounting department to actually receive it. But I did receive the refund and again, everyone was very respectful. It was just a minor mistake that was easily rectified, but I can't say it was exactly the confidence inspiring remedy they might have hoped for.

It's no longer Kirkwood Plumbing, the business has been sold to Mr. Rooter.

Apparently CLOSED as of April 2021, no notice even after 30 years as a customer, phone transfers to a franchise operation that kept no people, had no info, wouldn’t even provide owners name. Good grief. Kirkwood Plumbing was great but the transition is NOT pretty. I’m going elsewhere for another local company.

Had a pipe break open over the weekend behind a wall near the main floor bathroom. Pipe began leaking into the wall down into the basement so we contacted Kirkwood Plumbing. Cannot say enough great things about this company. The initial call was incredibly informative and we scheduled an appointment to have a technician out to the home as soon as possible. Our appointment was scheduled for 10AM and the technician arrived by 930AM. Dustin was so helpful and so patient and explained every step of the process. He found the leak and fixed it there on the spot. He also connected us with a reputable water damage restoration company who arrived to our home shortly after Dustin located the issue. The customer service has been nothing short of exceptional.

We needed emergency repair of burst pipes. After the snow ice storm. These guys came earlier than expected, waded through water and mud and were able to fix it the day we called. Thank you!

We had a very positive experience with Kirkwood Plumbing recently. We had a difficult time with another plumber trying to troubleshoot our issue. Kirkwood plumbing came in with a plan, confidence, and professionalism. They may be considered expensive, but each repair they made has been thorough and of very high quality. Jason worked quickly. Which makes their service at any cost a good value. We will definitely call them the next time we have a plumbing need.

WIll NEVER call them again. This business appeared to be helpful AT FIRST. They agreed to come the next day. But, that next day appointment was cancelled BY THE COMPANY.. No more next-day service. Three days later, the plumber was at my house for LESS THAN ONE HOUR-. I was charged $410.00. A leak in the dishwasher hose needed replacement. Parts cost $20-$30 according to my internet search. Yes, I consented to the cost, as there was a forfeitable $79 service fee and I was in a huge time pinch to get to work. So this common repair ended up costing $380/hour. I tried to reason with them, but You're screwed-you signed for it was the comeback. Unconscionable!

They fixed an issue that two other plumbers could not figure out. They were fast and professional. They did another one of my listings and were amazing on that job as well.

The tech that came out couldn’t find where it was leaking underneath our sink. We came back home yesterday with water still coming in. The tech didn’t look at the faucet to see if anything was loose. Now my husband and I are trying to fix that issue

Great Work, but the fix didn't resolve the issue. Kirkwood Plumbing did a sewer job on my property, where the sewer backed up in my basement. It looks fantastic! Really professional looking. The unfortunate thing is that didn't correct the problem I was having. So 14k later, I still have water backup in my basement. To top it off, according to what I was told, they can't even perform the actual fix! Thank you Kirkwood plumbing!

During a home move, the moving company inadvertently turned off a shut off valve to my 2nd floor when disconnecting an appliance. I had no idea how to find it. Kirkwood sent a plumber when other companies couldn’t, and he got the water turned on quickly. He arrived as scheduled, I was notified that he was “on the way”, he was very professional and efficient. And the price was extremely reasonable.

This is our go to company. We also request Story Hatchell EVERY time we need a service done. Story is so informative, knowledgeable, and genuine. We love him. We will be customers for life because of him. He gives us more than a fair price every time and never tries to take advantage. We had him look at a valve thinking it needed to be replaced and he was like nope just needed a tightening. Highly recommend this company.

I thought I was getting a toilet and a shut-off valve communication was poor. So they sold me a toilet for $750 bucks outrageous. This is a total total rip off I despise them and they're liberal. Kirkwood Plumbing bought out Mr Roto-Rooter or something like that don't do business with either of them

I’m am very disappointed with Kirkwood Plumbing. While they were able to do the work same day, their protocol for scheduling an inspection after is terrible. I took yesterday off because they told me the inspector would come from 8-3 and not call before they came. I am selling my house, so I sat in a house for 7.5 hours with no internet/tv to wait. By mid day, I called Kirkwood Plumbing to make sure the inspector would still be coming, they assured me that they would be coming. By 3:00, no one had shown up. I called Kirkwood plumbing and they said they made a mistake and that the inspection was changed to the next day. I told them I could not take another whole day off for a less than 5 min inspection and needed a smaller window so I could be there. They told me there was nothing I could do. After I argued with them and tried to come up with other options, they finally said I could give them a garage code and have a project manager wait until the inspector showed. I was happy with that answer. Today, I was at work and get a call from Kirkwood plumbing asking why I wasn’t at my house because the inspector can’t get in?! I asked them about our conversation yesterday, and they had no answer. Luckily I was working close to my house today so I was able to fly over to my house before the inspector left. He told me he never received a garage code or info about the project manager being there. I get that my house isn’t big money for Kirkwood Plumbing, but this is affecting my ability to sell my house. A call to say they would not do what we agreed would have been better than them just not doing it. Not how you treat costumers!

Water heater repair; kitchen sink faucet supply plugged. Paul did excellent work, explained his plans and the problems. Did effective repairs.

We had an emergency repair and called several emergency plumbers to come... Kirkwood Plumbing answered the call first and we were very impressed by their employee... Greg! He came right in and got the work started - working quickly he resolved our problem.

The were able to get to the source of the problem and get it taken care of promptly, with no surprises.

We had a technician come out to fix our hot water heater, the pilot light would not come on. When replacing the parts, the technician that was sent out had to keep calling his journeyman to ask questions on how to properly fix the water heater. This isn't the tech's fault, why would the company send out somebody along that hasn't been sufficiently trained? Once the repair was finished we started to smell gas in the house a couple hours later. I called Kirkwood Plumbing and they said it could just be some leakage that would dissipate, and if we still smelled gas they could come out in the morning. A few hours later the smell was worse, and after another call I was told to call Spire (our gas company) to come out and shut off the gas. Spire showed up quick, thankfully, and found that a couple parts were either not tightened fully or the wrong size nut was used and allowing gas to leak. Spire's employee's words were: This wouldn't have lasted until tomorrow. I ended up being charged $600+ for labor alone (parts were covered under warranty) for Kirkwood Plumbing to leave myself and my family in danger. The only positive thing I have to say is they did come out early the next day to fix what they had installed improperly the day before. For professionals installing or fixing gas appliances, I would have expected that safety would be at the forefront instead of an afterthought.

We hired Kirkwood Plumbing to reinstall a toilet for our customer. Turn around time was extremely fast. I have a happy customer, therefore you have a happy customer. We (Prestige Flooring) will definitely be using you and referring you again. Thank you
