Dick Ray Master Plumber Heating and Cooling

My AC stopped working. Called my home warranty company and they told me to call Dick Ray. Was told it would be 1.5 weeks before someone could get out and look at it. After seeing all these reviews saying we received same day/next day service I decided to call Dick Ray from a different number to see how long it would take for service. Was told next day. Seriously? Pay by cash/credit, we will be there! Deal with warranty company, eh, give us one and a half weeks.

Spent $22,000 to have 2 furnaces and 2 ac units replaced in my house. They were the cheaper option by a few thousand dollars. Installation took a few days, and then they rushed out before walking me through the final work. Huge read flag.

When I went to look, one line set was haphazardly placed across plumbing and electrical, and the problematic line set which was a major driver for me replacing my systems wasn’t touched.

They came back and moved the poorly placed line, but told me the problem line wasn’t part of the scope, but for a few thousand dollars more they would take care of it. I was invoiced for 2 full replacements, but a full replacement doesn’t necessarily mean a full replacement I guess. So, I’ll have to hire someone else to take care of this now.

When they came out to fix the line set they placed improperly I asked them to test the ACs so when summer came I would have a working AC. They must have turned on the units, but not verified they were running. When It finally came time to turn on the AC this week one of the units didn’t have power.

They came out a 3rd time, and were able to identifiy the electrical hookup didn’t have fuses. Told me I needed fuses, and my electrician should have taken care of that, and then left me without a running system.

Trustworthy, great quality. We will always use them.

They had a $99 special for cleaning the sewer line. Was a difficult job because I have no cleanout port but the plumber was tenacious and got it done. They did not try to upcharge me, so I am very satisfied.

Had a broken PRV and water was leaking in my finished basement. They came out the same day, replaced the part and did quality work. Very fast and professional. The bill was not very well itemized, the replacement part was around $500, and they were at my house for about an hour. My total bill was $1090, essentially billing around $500 an hour for the repair I am not sure because the invoice did not give any specific details. Make sure to ask what the hourly rate is before they show up!

He was supposed to come and give me an estimate my faucet is dripping on the outside of my house. Got a call one hour before he was supposed to be here never even looked at my house, never came, instead gives me a price of $500 to $700 ......ridiculous

I had a leaky faucet i loved the faucet and did not want to replace it. They came out and rebuilt the faucet so it worked like new again!

update: faucet still working great! so when I was woken up by somebody from Missouri Gas Energy about a huge, deadly level carbon monoxide leak spewing out of my home (the gas guy was surprised anybody was inside my home the carbon monoxide leak was so strong, then was surprised I was alive) from my furnace exhaust pipe I knew exactly who to call. Dick Ray understood it was a serious emergency and had a technician out within just a couple hours. Zac was extremely friendly and did a great job of explaining what happened and even took the time to show me exactly what he was talking about and explained in great detail how the furnace system works and why mine failed the way it did. In the end I unfortunately had to replace the whole system due to the failures and danger the current system posed, but I was presented several options at different price points with a great explanation on why the prices varied from system to system. I opted to go with a nice Lennox system that cost a bit more, but comes with a great warranty and is much more efficient. I had 1 small issue about a week after the install (the way the furnace is sideways in my crawlspace was causing some issues with it kicking on and off correctly), but Zac was back out in no time to get me fixed up and running smoothly again. Super happy with the system after several months now and I already can see a noticeable difference in my monthly utility bills. I wouldn't (and don't!) hesitate to recommend Dick Ray to anybody looking for a fix or upgrade.

The service technician was professional and customer service staff were great; however, company practices promotional catch that is not easy to understand by regular home owner. The company stated promotional price to clean the sewer line to the main and camera for a special price $79 per service, totalling $158 for our home. The service man started cleaning from drain which was closest to the street main. When indicated we needed the cleaning done starting from the back where the sewer line started within the house, he had mentioned each point of entry would cost us additional $79 per service. If we had known the total service would cost us over $500 before start of the job, we would have gone with hydro-jet service available by another plumbing companies around town. Very disappointed that the service man was unable to clean the sewer drain and after video recommended a huge repair bill over $9500 while there are no backups in the house. Very disappointed!

Had a gas leak due to a broken valve and an old water heater. Called to replace water heater and they took care of us right away. Technician was very prompt, polite and thorough. He even stayed until the gas company turned the gas back on so he could make sure everything was working great. Will definitely use Dick Ray Master Plumber again.

Crew installed a new gas line to our kitchen. They were very professional and the work was good quality. Made sure that all my questions were answered and that I was satisfied before leaving. Will use again in the future.

We had our a/c checked today. Dennis found a part that was failing so we were able to replace it before it conked out in this hot weather.

Still not complete this a rental home and this was a bigger job than expected due to the information at hand my address is on hold till the home owner decides on what to do .

I had them come because I thought I had a leak in my kitchen sink. Coriell was able to evaluate the issue, verify that my sink wasn’t leaking or stopped up, but that the issue was actually with my dishwasher. He was able to shut it off after making sure it was fully drained...I can use my sink and I have time to shop for a new dishwasher. I have used the folks before, they do excellent work and I highly recommend them. I will use their services again.

I was needing some help to address an issue before going out of town. The team worked with me, the technician was very professional, and the communication exceptional.

Zac came to my house to install a gas line for the new gas stove and water line for new fridge ice maker. He then was kind enough to look at a toilet and fixed that too. He always had a smile on his face and such a personable guy. What a great representative for his company.

I would give them no stars because they are unprofessional and very rude on the phone. Called to remind them that 3 months ago they worked on our pipes and they had to rip out a slab of concrete from our walk way and they still haven’t came to finish it( still in the middle of our yard).. the lady on the phone said she “runs” the company and that her manager already knows about our problem... and that they will get to it when they can.. I highly recommend if you need some plumbing done to not go through Dickray.

Thr plumber from Dick Ray was able to come out to my property very quick . I had been having reoccurring problems that another plumbing company was unable to fix and they finally told me they were unable to help me. I was referred to dick ray and they came and diagnosed the problem then fixed it the same day. Dick Ray will be the only plumber I call from now on

We had a horrible odor that previous plumbers could not locate and told us that we were out of options, that they didn't know what else to do. Dick Ray's came in and solved the problem. From speaking to Lisa on the phone to when Zac came out, the company is just great. Zac is clearly very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. We'll definitely use Dick Ray again and would recommend them to anyone.

My service was to unstop the main drain. It was not unstopped because the camera would not go past 40 feet. I don't care about a camera, I just needed my drain unclogged. I spent $79 and wasted a lot of time for nothing. This was a total tipoff, never again.

The manager called and said this is not reflective of their company. My fee was reimbursed and I was offered other options. I am impressed with the updated actions from the management.

I had an issue with water backing up from my washing machine. I had 2 other plumbers come out that could not fix the issue. These guys fixed the issue on the first try.

They do nice work. Very professional staff to include the receptionist. Cody is helpful and friendly. And he double checks not only his work, but the other guys work too! Kind of impressive to go over someone else work and tuck things in and such. Recently used them again for a new line set to the fireplace and Dan did a nice job. I feel like this company probably takes pretty good care of their employees as everyone that has been out to my place has experience already and they seem happy.

Is majorly overpriced It shouldn't matter what business your in you shouldn't charge people 300% labor and 2-300% parts pricing. And plumber didn't even do the half the job right took shortcut that took same amount of time as if replaced the whole thing rather than caulk and hope... A plumber should know that. Talked to owner sounds like nice sincere man but wouldn't budge or compensate. .. Being they were recommended by friend I would of hoped for better but I wouldn't recommend. Watched you tube videos and got tips from home depot to do it right myself. Cost 30$ and few hrs vs 100 patch job.

If I could give them a negative 6 I would!!!!! We have Choice Home Warranty and they dispatched one of their techs to come and work on our air conditioner. The guy didn't have the correct part so he jimmy rigged 2 parts together instead of going to get the correct part. Well, this didn't work and when we called them (work and parts are guaranteed for 39 days), they refused to come back out!!!! SO, CHW dispatched another company to fix their shoddy work!!!! BEWARE...this is NOT how to do business ... extremely disappointed with their service!!!!!!

I had a wet ceiling and leak in a shower. I called and someone was out within three hours! Diagnosed and fixed the issue quickly!

Our technician Dan was on time, very thorough and did a great job in repairing our air conditioner. He had a difficult time with the replacement parts for our particular brand AC, but was able to repair the unit despite the obstacles. Thank you Dan for your tenacity and never give up attitude!

Wow! What a great experience! I called with a leaky shut off valve and in less than an hour, a technician was here and had the issue resolved. Prices are reasonable and service was fast.

If he sees something else that is amiss or could be improved, he gives me the options available and explains them, without pressure. I feel David is looking out for my best interests as a home owner.

Seen the truck working on my neighbors home and decided to give them a call after my dishwasher got clogged and caused a leak under kitchen sink. This was right around the holidays and they came right over after working on the neighbors place. Very professional and got everything done in an hour or so. The people were pleasant and professional however it was a little difficult to get what I wanted done difficult to get what I wanted done from past experience I knew that a regular 100-ft cable wouldn't reach out to where my problem is I made it very clear that they had to bring extra cable and was okay with paying extra for it they came out the first time and either something broke is what they said or they didn't believe me and didn't bring the extra cable they did come out the second day and did a fine job and it is done I would recommend them to a friend

We had a toilet installed. We appreciate that they came the next day after we called. However, $574.00 seems overpriced to install a toilet when there were no complications and we had the new toilet unboxed next to the bathroom door and the old toilet had already been removed from the home.

I spoke with Lisa on the phone who was polite and reviewed with me what my home warranty insurance did and did not cover regarding my AC so there were no surprises. I had them come out for a plumbing issue after finding a recommendation on Angie's List. I didn't even bother with following up because their free estimate came in at 2 1/2 times more than the other estimates for the same work. I'm looking at a major plumbing repair not a clog or toilet reseating. They may be more in line with others for that. Office Staff and Technician were very nice.

I know Vincent other than through his job, so I contacted him when my AC went out. He was very helpful and courteous and I booked an appointment. I booked through after hours answering service for a 12-2 time slot. When he didn’t arrive as I thought I called the office and was told it was because I booked through answering service. That’s my only complaint. Vincent was quick and knew what he was doing, brought the parts with him that he thought I would need. Would definitely recommend.

Sewer backup main line. From the secretary to the plumbers in the field, everyone was very professional and punctual. They went to extra mile to make sure that my household was taken care of. Special s/o to Lisa and Cain for all your help.

My furnace went out 3 days after I bought my short term rental home and the first day of a guests' stay. They were able to get someone out within a couple hours to repair it and I'm so thankful! Kitchen sink was backed up. Called on a Saturday and they came out the same day. Rick was professional, friendly and very helpful. He happily spoke with my home warranty company allowing me to be reimbursed for the entire job minus my deductible. He cleaned up after he finished and did tests to show the line was successfully cleared. Very impressed with their work and would recommend. Only drawback was the person I spoke with to schedule the appointment quoted me Starting at $99 dollars to snake the sink. My sink isn't on the main line so it cost more to snake an indirect line. Understood, but still reasonable at $262. Again, would highly recommend this company. Was pleased with Rick's job.

The crew at Dick Ray Master Plumber did an excellent job at locating and replacing our 60 year old sewer line which was filled with tree roots. They were at my house on time and even worked hard in the pouring rain in a muddy pit. They only dug enough in my to remove the plugged clay pipe and was able to pipe burst the rest the decayed cast iron under our house. They even worked into the evening when they ran into issues due to the rain and mud to guarantee we would have a working sewer that night. The office manager was extremely helpful in getting the right financing for the project.

Great job of providing answers on a water heater replacement on a Saturday. Service was scheduled for early Monday. Replacement went well with a professional installation and removal of the existing unit. Will definitely use again for plumbing and HVAC needs.

I had a newer air conditioner that needed freon every spring. I called these guys last year to service my air conditioner. They took the time to figure out what was wrong with my system. They replaced the line set and the air conditioner has been perfect since then!

I woke to a flooded basement and a sump pump that had died, when I called for help they were at my house within the hour and replaced my broken pump.

Do not call this place--highway robbery. The technician came out and checked my HVAC (it is on the roof), didn't do any work, other than fixing my thermostat, which I pointed out and was gone in 30 min or less--$181!!! The technician was nice, but this is outrageous! Not to mention the secretary told me they charge about $100 per hour. Needless to say that was completely misleading for no work done. DO NOT CALL

My A/C failed to turn on this year. A quick call to Ryan at Dick Ray answered my questions and had me set up with a new, efficient, 2-stage Lennox Elite system to be installed a few days later.
I recieved a text reminder the day prior and the morning of my appt letting me know the technician was en-route to my home.
Install was done quickly and the tech left my home as clean as it was when he arrived.
The new system looks great and is nearly silent compared to the old unit. Excited to see the drop in my energy bills next month!

After reading some of the owner's replies to bad reviews, I'm not surprised I was treated the way I was over the phone. I cannot in good faith recommend this company to anyone.

Zach came out to fix my A/C on an unseasonably warm day. He called about 30 minutes before he showed up to make sure I was still available. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. I highly recommend this company, these guys are reliable, friendly, reasonable, and they know what they are doing.

My appointment was scheduled for 10:00 and Zac arrived a little before which I appreciated. He was very professional and installed my new sump pump very efficiently. He did a great job of explaining my options and told me the exact price. Excellent job, Zac!

A scope of the sewer line is a great value at $79. Though my first appointment was not completed due to the technicians delay in another job, the rescheduled appointment was on time and the scope was completed in short order.

Your commercials are distasteful and will keep you off of any my list of contract suppliers. Don’t bother with any smug replies as seems to be your usual approach to criticism. Why don’t you just clean up your messaging.

Dave was our plumber and he was pleasant and a very hard, diligent worker. He kept us up to date on situation as this took 2 full days and an hour on the 3rd day. Our final cost was within $100.00 of the estimate. No problem with this overage considering how out of date our entire house’s plumbing system. We are extremely pleased with the service and the cost. We would highly recommend their services to anyone! 👍

We just had our free plumbing check up from our regular service guy, Dan. As always, he was professional, friendly, explained what he was doing and what he saw, offered suggestions for things we can do as well as what they could do!

I had a whole house humidifier installed. They use Aprilaire brand humidifiers, I was able to get a 10% discount since I subscribe to their maintenance plan. The technician arrived on time, was respectful and wore a mask while in my home. I also had a new air conditioner installed last spring by DR. I’d recommend them.

The plumbers were honest, professional and friendly. I will use them again.

While I am happy with the price of my repair and how quickly they were able to get it done, I am not happy with their contractor who filled my sidewalk back in. The sidewalk overall was sloppily poured, they left cement on both sides of my grass that ended up drying and they did not collect the caution tape, steaks holding it in, or the planks to form the concrete slab. I have called multiple times to have it cleaned up but never received a resolution.

Terrible told me they can do the job then back out. Would not recommend to anyone, no communication what so ever! If I could give them a zero I would!

We had an drainage issue that several plumbers either couldn't figure out or applied quick band aid fixes that quickly broke. The plumbers at Dick Ray were able to diagnose the problem correctly the first time and come up with a permanent fix that was very reasonably priced and quickly done. We will be calling them first from now on.

Maintenance on humidifier system

Friends of mine highly recommend someone else. Don't always trust everything you see on TV. Not recommended

The service tech did an outstanding job! Previous drain cleanouts had gone through the floor drain to the horizontal pipe that goes to the main house drain. Instead he went into the cap at bottom of the vertical sink drain pipe and cleaned to the main house drain. Then he also did the sink drain line, which was severely clogged and likely had never been done. Many thanks!

Narwarriow was amazing....he answered all our questions...and was able to fix our problem for the time being. We plan on using them to help fix our root problem.

What a terrific company to take care of our heating and cooling needs! There are few businesses where, occasionally when I call, I actually get to talk to the owner of the company. I can always count on my heating or cooling challenge being taken care of within 48 hours and often, the very same day. We have never been disappointed in their service or the cost of the project. Due to the size of the company, I also know the gentlemen that will be coming to my house by first name. As long as we have furnaces and air conditioners, we will be relying on Dick Ray to keep them working!

The technician checked out all that he could with the antique a/c unit and got some cool air running. With a home sitting at 78°, that’s what we needed.

Great experience with this company. Started with my initial phone call for service with Kelly. I was scheduled for later in the day but they had a cancellation so she called me back to get me in several hours early. Coriell was super nice and more than efficient. I not only would recommend them, but will use them again in the future!!

Cleaned main sewer line

Friendly receptionist, made it easy to work with our landlord, and quickly came out to fix our sink. The plumber was in and out in 30 or less with the issue fixed. Will use this company again when possible.

Cain helped me find a septic tank when the location was unknown. He was quick and efficient and brainstormed how we could find it. I think most guys would have given up after the 2nd attempt but he called with some options to consider that he thought would work and it did! Saved me a lot of time utility probing that is for sure! Excellent marking in the yard and showed me the underground live feed to ensure I understood it all.

I would give these guys 10 stars if I could. Cain was extremely responsive and attentive when I first contact them about our sewer issue. I knew what my issue was and Cain was able to confirm that with just a few photos - saving both of us time and money. Travis and Jason were out the next day replacing our house trap. These two were courtesy, professional and two of the hardest working plumbers I've ever seen! I've been dealing with sewer issues for 20 years including a full replacement 13 years ago. These guys were the first company to ever give me a full diagnostic of the problem. Cain is continuing to work diligently with the city to resolve the issue on their end. Can't recommend these guys enough. Initial bids I got were $9,300 - $25,000. After phase one I'm up and running for $2,700. These guys are great. Thanks Dick Ray Plumbing.

Would have liked to give 5 stars for how quickly the technician was able to come out and fix issue with toilet. However I deducted two stars because David (technician) wasn’t very friendly and lacked communication. His attitude was unacceptable and slightly offensive!

Guy came out and did nothing and was wanting to charge $865 to replace toliet. I’m like where do you get those kind of prices you can buy one for $200 at lowes. He said toliet was old and needed replaced not for that price!!!!

Came to fix a burst pipe but then said they didn't have time to fix it but charged me $374 to cap it with a sharkbite in about 10 minutes. Then advised I need another appointment to actually fix the issue. The response from the company was a complete lie. They never told me that it was emergency rates or that they would not have time to fix the issue. Avoid this company!

Lavar was courteous, knowledgeable, prompt, and cleaned up after himself. He took his time to explain what the problem was and how to troubleshoot even further to correct the problem.

Very pleasant company to deal with, Dan came in and analyzed the water heater issue and eventually found a gas leak in the piping leading into the heater, he tightened the union the prior installers missed.
