After a large rainstorm this past July, I noticed a few plumbing concerns in our downstairs bathroom, which I assumed were unrelated, a slow draining shower, and what I thought was the seal on the toilet. I had a another plumber out, who took one look at it, and said that we had a sewage blockage. We hadnt noticed the blockage, as the floor drain is ina part of the basement that is not visible, and I didnt think to check it, as it has never been an issue. However, when we did, it was very clear that there was a blockage, but nothing much had come up through the floor yet. He said there was nothing he could do, and to call a sewage blockage repair person.

I noticed someone out on the street parked, and just asked them to come in (a mistake, but was desperate, and wanted it quickly fixed), and they came in , and made a huge mess. They were dumping buckets of water down the drain, as they attempted to clear it with an electric eel, which proceeded to spread a large bit of sewage everywhere in teh basement (as it was completely blocked, and would not clear). They did not clean up, and left me with sewage all over, and a worse leak. I stopped them before they broke up the floor (without using a camera). I was left with a mess in a finished basement. I then called Mr. Rooter.

Jeff was here at the first available appointment the next day. He worked for almost 3 hours from every conceivable direction (main stack, floor drain, outside cleanout, etc) to try and move the blockage, which unfortunately was not able to be cleared. He went above and beyond to try to get our plumbing moving. He was very apologitic and kind in a very difficult situation. He explained we had a full blockage, and a likely p-trap collaspe in the floor, and what are next steps needed to be (including relocating out of the house, as we could not use any of the plumbing, until things were fixed). He gave me the names of a few drain contractors to touch base, as we likely needed the line replaced. With Jeff's direction I was able to get in contact, with the right people right away, and start the process to have this repaired. I ended up needed a full sewer line replacement all the way to the road, as well as the the collasped pipe in the basement floor replaced, and had a backflow valve preventer installed (since the were ripping everything out anyway, and to hopefully stop this from ever happening again!).

This was a horrible situation for any home owner to go through, and a long process to get plumbing fixed and then have the interiors refinished (but thankfully, all done now), but Jeff was incredibly kind and helpful in an awful situation and did his absolute above and heyond to help us out.

Going forward, I plan to use Mr. Rooter for plumbing issues, including having our system checked yearly, to ensure things are in working order with no issues and perform any maintenance. I trust them completely after our experience with Jeff and Mr. Rooter. Their complete honesty, kindness and direction in a very difficult time, was much appreciated. I have been meaning to leave this review for some time, but it has taken two months to get things refinished in the basement and for life to return to normal again, but wanted to ensure that I did leave it, even if it has been some time since Jeff was out in July 2021.

This review is for Mr. Rooter in the Metro Detroit Area: I am happy that I decided to call them. I had already called 2 other local companies and they did not show up. Mr. Rooter was the 3 company that came, they gave me a quote and on the same day started the work the same afternoon. They brought the jetter and worked for a few hours and since they did not finished they came back the next morning. They completed the work and suprisingly the price was about the same as the other 2 companies.

The only thing I wished they had done is that they forgot to wipe a few areas that ended up dirty.

Very knowledgeable, quickly found the problem, and made the extra effort to look past the initial leak to ensure that there were no other leaks throughout the system.

Today started off very upsetting after the recent storm my garage flooded my crawl space was under water city came out said it was an inside plumbing issue a close friend of mine called Mr Rooter Plumbing they text me with photo ID of the employee named Jeff Rivait extremely professional but friendly and wow the knowledge he has for the job was outstanding and explained what he was going to do and said he would do everything possible to resolve the problem. I was worried that this was going to be a huge expense not only did he solve the issue the pricing was a pleasant surprise not a job that alot of people would do but was happy he did as he was excellent and he cared and understood how worried I was and he put a smile on my face as that was a job well done and one less stressed issue resolved. I highly recommend this company and if they have more staff like Jeff then that's an amazing team keep up the great work .

Mr. Rooter Plumbing offered us a wonderful service. The appointment scheduling, the reminder and everything related to customer service was outstanding! They fixed our Dishwasher in a couple of mins. I called Mr Rooter for a sewer rooting originally. We had a bit of a problem because my sewer access wasnot easy to reach. Steve came and helped us get the job done but we decided to not get to invasive and see if doing things without tearing out my utility sink would work. Unfortunately, it didn’t get all the roots. I called Mr Rooter back and invoked my 30 day guarantee and requested same day service (we are doing this to sell our house). They understood the urgency and my situation, were very sympathetic and nice through it all. Jason showed up the second time and went above and beyond. Realizing what went wrong the first time, he removed my utility sink completely so he could get full sewer access and made extra sure the job was done! Once done he (and Steve did too) cleaned up after himself and even put my sink back together. The service was great and the guys were both very helpful in trying to get the job done. The communication and responsiveness at every step was excellent. We had the same technician (Robert) give us a free estimate and then complete the work and he was very friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable in terms of the pandemic as he wore a mask throughout the process and immediately disclosed that he was fully vaccinated. I want to give a shout out to Mr Rooter employees, Jeff, George and Rob.

First to Jeff. One year ago, in August, just before the big flood in Windsor, my drains between the kitchen and the bathroom clogged up (not the first time). I could not get them to move. This was extremely bad as my husband was very ill in a hospital bed in the living room. We called a neighbour, and he could not get it open either. So, I called Mr Rooter for help. But I kept trying to plunge the drains. By the time Jeff arrived (it was not a long wait) I had managed to get the drains running. However, I knew the problem was not going away.

I showed him the tangled mess of old cast iron drains in the basement. He said it was too risky to put a snake down the pipes because of their condition and age. He sold me a $25 bottle of drain cleaner that would not hurt the pipes. It worked, and managed to keep the drains clear for a year. He didn't charge me a service call, and he said when I was ready to give them a call. My husband passed a few days after Jeff's visit.

Fast forward to spring and my second job with Mr. Rooter. I had a bad fall in my back yard which gave me a 3rd degree sprain in my left ankle. I fell while trying to weed whack around a large tree stump root. I contracted a company to grind the stump. Unbeknown to the contractor and myself there was a sewer clean out buried next to the stump. It got damaged. I called Mr. Rooter.

That's when I met Rob and George. They repaired the clean out, and raised it above ground so it could be seen. They also fixed another clean out so that I could open my gate. All for a good price.

I asked them to give me a quote for the replacement of the house drains. They called in their supervisor and between the three of them they made a plan and I had their reasonable estimate in my hand that very day.

I was unable to get the work done right away as I was leaving town, but we scheduled the work for the moment I got back.

Rob and George were punctual, worked all day and took only 1/2 hr lunch and one morning break. They had to demolish an enclosure to get at the pipes. They did this without causing a lot of damage to the surrounding walls. They removed all the old cast iron drains, replaced tub, toilet, and 2 sink drains. They discovered the sinks were not vented, so that task was done as well.

Rob returned the following morning to complete the job. They place was left clean. Amazingly, they came in under budget! Cast iron pipes are unpredictable, and there was a possibility that the main pipe might be clogged all the way under the floor. So they quoted me the worst case scenario. It didn't happen.. They didn't have to break open the floor which saved me $1,200.

I am over the moon happy with the work and the price. These men are polite and hard workers. They cleaned up after themselves. They had my best interest in mind and didn't try to up-sell me. They got what needed to be done, and done in a timely fashion.

My ego had me hesitant to call a plumber for something I felt I should be able to diagnose and repair. After a few failed attempts and once the seven stages of grief had passed I decided to call Mr Rooter. Robert arrived quickly and in no time had found the issue and repaired it for free. He explained what the problem was, how to fix it should it happen again and gave me a free estimate because we both know I'll be calling him again after I make it worse.

I would not hesitate to call Mr Rooter again. I wish I had called sooner. Friendly, knowledgeable and truly professional. If you're reading this review because you need something fixed but aren't sure where to start, don't make the same mistake I did. Call now.

I hired theses people because they claimed to be “local”. It turns out local means 1 1/2 hours away. Strike 1! I specifically requested they bring specific equipment with them for a specific job. They showed up more than 2 hours late( with no call to explain) WITHOUT the proper equipment I specifically requested. Strike 2! Because they were so far away, they had to reschedule for the next day, because they had to go back to the shop to get said equipment. They then showed up more than 1 1/2 hours late again with no phone call. Strike 3! They were nice enough, but when they completed the job 48 minutes later, they presented me with a bill for $1148.50 for jetting out the outdoor drain. I expressed concern about the amount, and they told me it was usually over $1400. Strike 4!? I called the office soon after to express my disappointment, and to try and find out why it was so much. I was promised a supervisor would call me back, but never received a call back. I called again, and am still awaiting a call back. Strike 5!? To be honest, I would NEVER EVER recommend this company to anyone ever again! This experience had left a bad taste in my mouth. To make it worse, this job was done for a nonprofit organization in Fenton, MI.

Called on a Sunday to book an appointment . Got the answering service. The service Took my info and said they would leave msg for company and I would receive a call next day. They called back before 9 am and could book me between 10:30 & 12:30. They called back at 10:45 to tell me tech was 15mins away. He was professional and extremely polite the whole time. Service was very professional and informative. Jeff walked me through his procedure and my options, made sure I understood what he was doing and why. Very transparent in their business practice.
During the service, he was very clean. Wore shoe covers as he entered the house, and brought his own matting while he worked. Also cleaned up and put everything back to the way it was.
After fixing my kitchen drain problem, Jeff walked me through some preventative measures, maintenance options and recommendations to keep an eye on some other issues that may come up in the future.

The guy that came out spent more time sitting in the van than working on the drain. Then left a big mess with sewage all over the walls & floor. He didn't do a good job because it backed up a day later. Had to call another company to do the job right.

My basement flooded with about half a foot of water, the technician, Joey N. was an absolute pleasure. He was well informed and knowledgeable. conversing with us, he told us ways to prevent further issues and the best brands of products to help us. He was polite and although the smell was terribly pungent, he did not complain once. Always speaking with a smile and well groomed we were extremely lucky to have been blessed with such a sweet understanding young man. 100% will use this company again. thank you for helping us same day and at such a reasonable price.

The agent who attended our property was very courteous and knowledgeable. He told us what the problem was and rectified the problem quickly.

I called to fix up the clogged drain and they ran the cable and the person talking was very rude. They said that they fixed it and left. They left without repacking anything and and left everything open. My tenants this morning called and saying again the water is coming out.

I had an issue and called 2 other companies in regards to my issue with a hot water valve that wont turn off and would leak water. I called Mr. Rooter for help and they came 20 min later but no other plumbers even got back to me at all after ive been chasing them for help. I ended up getting Jeff as my plumbing tech. He was very open to me about what are my options. After driving across town to get the part for me i was very glad that someone cared about my situation. I was very glad to get Jeff's help and expert knowledge. He finished everything in a blink of an eye. Any employer should be glad to have this man under their belt. If I had a business, people like Jeff is what we need more of both for a buisness and consumers aspect. I wouldnt change anything that happened today. Not only does he deserves a raise financial but im sure that good thinks will come his way for this guy in his future. Reliance home services started our clogged drain and let us down big time. Had enough of them and called Mr Rooter. Within the day the Mr. Rooter technician came out and cleared the pipes quickly and professionally. Many thanks to the professionals at Mr. Rooter.

Called to get service over the weekend and was told no membership no weekend service. Asked how to get a membership was told call back during regular business hours. I found service elsewhere

When I called Mr. Rooter a couple of months ago, my call was greeted with enthusiasm and with professional attention to my questions by Mr. Rooter’s receptionist. I firmly believe the receptionist is the Director of First Impressions. As a new potential customer the person answering the telephone could very easily disway the caller if there is an uncaring, robotic replies and an urgency to dispense of the caller. This was not my impression as the receptionist gave me the level of confidence to meet with their plumber on the schedule day.

When I met Jeff, he was very courteous, diligent and attention to detail and particularly had taken the time to explain what was being offered, costs associated with my selection and the time frame to complete the work. He ensured the area was cleaned with no debris after his work was completed. My wife and I were very pleased with the work performed and jokingly I said I would I hope never see him again.

Well on January 1st midafternoon, I had a pipe burst and called Mr. Rooter. The technician on call was extremely helpful and walked me through what I should do to close the water supply to my home. I received a call the very next morning and I accepted a service call that morning. To my delight Jeff arrived and after a few hours, my fears were laid to rest, job completed with new copper piping.

Because of his diligent and caring nature I requested a quote to have more work done in our basement. All of this because originally we needed to replace a dripping kitchen faucet. I recall I reached out to three different plumbers and Mr. Rooter was not only the first to call me but the only company to call. I guess replacing a faucet did not command a lot of money. But Mr. Rooter welcomed that call and with that got more business.

Jeff did a fantastic job replacing my kitchen sink drain. He was very upfront about what could go wrong (it's a very old, very odd sink), but luckily, nothing did, and he was done in under two hours. I would definitely recommend Jeff and Mr. Rooter to anyone with plumbing problems.

I arrived home to discover a small amount of sewage entering my basement due to a blocked drain. I called Mr Rooter and Jeff came. He was very professional but also good natured and friendly. In a short matter of time he had the drain unblocked.

He could have stopped with that but, being thorough, he worked on the other portions of the drains in my basement and found another, more minor problem and corrected that as well.

I am very satisfied with Mr Rooter here in Windsor and highly recommend them for plumbing needs.

Very honest company. I wasn't promised something that couldn't be delivered and I was warned, in advance, of possible complications and cost overruns. Jeff, the plumber, was very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. If I need a plumber again, this is who I'll call.

I recently had galvanized pipe replaced by Mr. Rooters. Rob worked on the whole thing and I must say he did a very neat and clean job. I would highly recommend Rob for any of your plumbing projects. The customer service and professionalism is top notch.

I initially booked an appointment online. I received two phone calls prior to the appointment. One was from a technician the day after my appointment which was totally unprofessional because they let an entire day go by without addressing my scheduled appointment. A receptionist called following day to say that a tech could be sent out but it would be a 100.00 fee for a tech to come out. The fee needs to be explained online when the appointment is made. Why is it they missed an appointment then call two days later saying they’d send someone. First time I spoke with a receptionist and asked why they’d charge without giving estimates over the phone, she said she didn’t know. I called the following day to get a better understanding or to see if I may have just talked to the wrong person. A new receptionist then tells me the tech travel fee is 49. At this point I’m not ever going to deal with these con artists

Jeff R was very professional and clean during our interaction and service. He was also very knowledgeable and provided helpful advice on preventing future problems with my sink . The only miss was not offering the 20 dollar coupon for first time customer, other than that excellent!!!

I like that they try to get a technician out the same day. Technician always explains everything in detail before he starts work also suggests preventative maintenance and cleans up after himself before he leaves

Very rude company from the inside out. Tim was my technician and he was rude from the moment he walked up to my house. I shrugged it off and let him do his job. But then, he got really disrespectful. I have shoes at my back door because we dont wear shoes in the house, mostly my sons different sport shoes and a pair of my boots because we had water in the basement so i had to wear boots when i go down there. As he was going out to get his camera, he started flinging the shoes in my kitchen and they landed every which way. I have blood clots in my lungs so it takes me a great deal of time and energy to do very simple tasks but if he needed more space, he should have asked me to move them and i would have. I called the supervisor and she didn't seem to care. Now that im reading the reviews, i guess being rude is apart of their job description. If you need plumbing services, please go elsewhere!!! Tim is racist, rude and he doesnt think that tenants matter, only landlords because they are the ones paying.
