Alex, Kevin and Crew have taken on several project for us in the last few months and have Knocked it out of the park. I generally tend to avoid posting for doing your job but I felt it was important to point out that they were always early or on-time everyday and always made sure we were up to date and went out of their way to make sure we didn't overpay for something that wasn't needed on these projects. Our business keeps odd hours for our event space and a Big Thanks! to Alex and Kevin for finding an unforseen issue and staying until 10:30 Pm to make sure it was complete properly and our event went off without a hitch! I had them come out to give me an estimate for a project. The electrician talked to me about the project, measured, had me pay for the estimate, and said someone would call with the pricing in a few days. I didn't hear from the company so I called them. The person on the phone said they didn't get the paperwork from the electrician so they couldn't give me an estimate. (Family emergency, I don't fault them for that.) I had a copy of the paperwork and offered to read the measurements but was told the paper I had was useless and he couldn't give me an estimate based on it. I called a few more times after this and left messages to see if they ever got the paperwork they needed from the electrician but didn't hear back.
I ended up filing a claim with my credit card to dispute the charge since I paid for a service that I never received. In the middle of this dispute, they sent a bill marked overdue to my mother (who owns the house I live in). The credit card company ruled in favor of Bates Electric because I signed a receipt agreeing to the charge. I only agreed to the charge because they were supposed to call me with the estimate. I still haven't received an estimate, this project started in May. They were more responsive to Chase during the dispute than they were to me when I was trying to get what I paid for.
I paid $180 for an estimate I never received.

Could not be happier with our experience! Gary was able to fix everything we needed to fix and the cost was very reasonable. Highly recommend!

I have honestly not had their service, but just wanted to comment about their company vehicle driving like a mad man this morning at 630 AM in the rain. He was driving extremely close to vehicles and speeding around them. Not sure what the rush was, but we would all like to make it to work alive today. Thanks.

Second time using Mr Electric out of Franklin. Michael and team did an excellent job. Took their time to explain what needed to be done and recommended a job I was considering already.

These people are so unprofessional. If i could give them zero stars I would. So much happened I will try to give a brief synopsis so no one else has to deal with what we had to deal with..

Darryl Riggs came out to give a quote. He was so nice, understanding and accommodating at first, but it took him over an hour to give a quote. After the quote, he left, an agreement was made. He sent a materials list. (He was suppose to return to complete the work the same day).

He did not come back on the scheduled date. He called hours later and requested to come the next day, he was asked how long it would take because our daughter had a birthday party on the day he was requesting. He stated it would take him 3 hours to complete the job. He was advised he would need to come early to allow enough time to complete the job and he was reminded again that no payment would be given until all work was performed as we had discussed. He assured us it would be taken care of and he agreed to start at 6am. He arrived at 632am and began working. At 1pm he was still not close to being done; he was reminded that we could not miss our daughter's birthday.. he became angry and started to yell and threaten us in our home.

Later on, the police were called and he was instructed by the police to complete the job and get paid or not complete the job and not get paid.

He requested payment for 1/3 of the job.

He was advised that was not the original deal, we refused to give money for the work because he had not completed it per our agreement. We requested he complete the work and get the full payment.

He then requested gas money, we gave him gas money and then he stated he would not be back to complete the job(he told us to trouble shoot it).

He was told to never come on the property again.

Now we have to find someone to fix the things he messed up and someone to repair the drywall he messed up in the process of messing up the electrical work.. do yourself a favor and run, these people have split personalities, one second the are smooth talking business people and the next moment they are acting like raging animals!! ??
