$488 to replace in innards of a toilet! Completed job in 51 minutes. They wouldn't tell me how much it would cost to replace the toilet innards on the phone (I specifically asked: valves, gaskets, and float) but would charge me $89 to come and look at the toilet and then give me the cost to replace the innards. To my shock, it was an additional $399.64!!! And only a 90 day warranty.
I've since gotten two other estimates: $135 and $75.
We have used Mr. Rooter Plumbing for a variety of plumbing needs around our house. Last week we had them come out and reinstall a sump pump for us in the crawlspace due to issues that arose with the pump during a recent home inspection. The pump had been intstalled by another plumber, and not correctly according to the inspection. Mr. Rooter's technician Troy was prompt and very professional, ensuring that our pump was reinstalled correctly this time. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter for any plumbing needs you have, as they are always professional and stand by their work.

This company was very quick to respond and the two plumbers were excellent. But, after diagnosing a full septic tank, they could not drain it! Large fee for basically confirming what I already knew. Next time, please tell your customer whether tank draining is possible THE DAY OF SERVICE.
Robert did a good job installing disposal and solved other plumbing issues pertaining to Miele dishwasher.
I have no complaint about the prompt service or the courteous plumber (Shawn) that replaced a toilet.
However, $650 for the same toilet that Home Depot sells for $200 is criminal. The total came to $756 and I am just sick about it. I take responsibility for signing off on the work...that's on me. I can't compare Mr. Rooter to any other plumbing business but if this is standard practice, it's not only wrong but immoral. GOD help you if you need a toilet replaced.
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 17, 2018.....
After some research, I have determined the extent to which I was gouged by Mr. Rooter.
As I stated earlier, Home Depot has the exact same toilet for $200 including tax. That is retail and does not take into consideration the contractor discount that Mr. Rooter would have received. His cost would have been about $150.
I contacted 3 plumbers to get a quote for removing and replacing a toilet. That cost would be between $100 and $125 depending on what may need to be replaced such as the flange.
So, if I would have purchased the toilet myself and had a plumber install it for me, the total cost would have been between $300 and $325. Now, I understand if the cost of the toilet had been $50 to $100 more for his profit but how do you justify more than $430 in cost to replace a toilet.
The invoice that Mr. Rooter gave me did not breakdown or itemize the $756 charge. The invoice simply states AMERICAN STANDARD CHAMPION WHITE ELONGATED TOILET $756.75. NO COST FOR THE TOILET.....NO COST FOR THE LABOR.... NO COST FOR ADDITIONAL PARTS....NOT EVEN TAX According to David W. Napier, the owner of this Mr. Rooter franchise, he doesn't break down his invoices'.
The work was done on a weekday during business hours.
For those who are trying to get by on a fixed income be prepared to pay dearly for the services of one Mr. Rooter.

Justin was friendly and professional. He assessed the leaking under the kitchen quickly and efficiently. He explained what was and what needed to happen.

Mr. Rooter is the best. I called yesterday afternoon late, and the guys were here at ten this morning. They did an excellent job reinstalling the commode and unstopping the drain, were quick and efficient and left the bathroom clean and neat. Everyone should have them do their plumbing work.
Very professional service. I called to request appointment, service was completed the next day on time at the price discussed. I’ll be a return customer.

Gave my parents (elderly)quote for $4000 to replace galvanized pipes in house(3 brm, one bath, 1100 sq ft). And yes they supposedly crawled under house and looked. Got second quote and turns out the pipes had already been replaced. Hmm.

Mr rooter was here to hydro scrub our main drain clog. Accidentally or unaccidentally left cap to main drain off and allowed house sewer to flow into crawl space creating giant sanitation issue. Company denied ever leaving cap off. Never thought reputable plumbing company would be this sloppy in their work.
UPDATE: when I saw the company’s apologetic google response I called them thinking that they had changed their minds and were now willing to remedy. However, instead, the company once again denied leaving cap off gave me an earful about how, since we had already filed a complaint with consumer complaints, they only wanted to deal with situation through their lawyer. All we wanted was a complete or at least partial refund for a job that caused us a whole lot of headache and distress. I don’t feel that’s a unreasonable request. From our point of view, there was no other way the cap could have just fallen off if it was secured. I really had hoped that we could have avoided a lengthy legal case, guess we’ll just have to have hope that Kentucky’s law systems will be on our side... will update as things progress.
They came out quick to resolve our issues. The gentlemen were professional and showed my why I have had multiple issues from the previous company repairs and they guaranteed their work unlike the last company I used. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Extremely nice people, excellent service was provided to our family during a very difficult situation. Replaced our sewer using trenchless pipe replacement can’t even tell they were here. Beware using new plumbing companies in Lexington was almost scammed by new start up business. You get pay for cheapest isn’t always the best.
Justin was great. Besides being very friendly and professional, he gave me some good tips on avoiding future clogs and also adjusted the slope of a drain pipe which had created an artificial trap which resulted in the clog. Justin also served our country so kudos for that as well! If you schedule an appointment, ask for Justin!

In August 2020 I called Mr. Rooter because the drain line outside the house and cleanout were infested with roots, blocking everything going out of the house. They assessed the problem and the solution was to replace the cleanout and 4 of pipe under it. No other solution was offered and I thought this will address the issue. The experience was good and I was happy to pay the $950 repair cost.
However in October 2021 I started having the exact same problem again. Called Mr. Rooter and it was determined the roots have gotten into the cleanout and pipes at the same location again, even after I removed all the shrubs around it last year after the repair. The specialist told me the job they did last year was not nearly enough, and at minimum the yard will need to be excavated and 10 feet of the pipe replaced. I feel I paid for a subpar solution that resulted in having the same problem just a year later, and asked if they will factor in what I already paid or at least a discount. Was told I am 2 months past the warranty and there's nothing they can do.
I signed for the larger repair since I need to have it fixed before the weekend. And they were able to send people out the next day, which is appreciated. However seeing the cheap flimsy pipes and cleanout from just last year replaced with the much sturdier schedule 40 really made me feel that this should've been done last year. I tried to call the office to see if they can offer me anything, but was simply referred back to the specialist who couldn't help me before. Ultimately I am happy with the repair today, but feel let down by a large reputable company that didn't do it right the first time and won't make up for it. Overall dissatisfied.

Bryson and Trever took care of my problem with my hot water heater in a very profession manner.. They were prompt, courteous and patiently explained the problem and how they corrected it. Before they left they assured me that if I had any further problems with the situation, they would promptly return and fix it.
Mr Rooter of Lexington helped me when my toilet over flowed after a service they had done. Not knowing the exact cause at the time David sent the technician ( Can’t remember his name) back out late that night to soak up the water, he even put up fans and left them on my carpet all night. The next day he came back and scoped my drains and busted a clog in our main line all free of charge. Thank you for your help cause I didn’t know wth was going on.

I’m somewhat new to Lexington and not dealt with any local plumbers. I had a situation that popped up on a Sunday Afternoon and needed help right away
I was pleasantly surprised to find Mr. Rooter answered my call and sent Shawn Smith their “lucky” on call plumber on a Sunday afternoon at 6:00 PM. Shawn arrived and fixed the immediate emergency with an attitude that was infectious. A guy doing a tough job but doing it because he cares and likes helping people out.
Thank you Mr. Rooter and Shawn Smith, you’ve earned a customer. In my mind, there’s no better company, no need to call anyone else.
I had a huge job, and I could not have asked for better quality service. Mr Rooter (David) showed great attention to the smaller details, and did a great job at explaining step-by-step what was going on, what was needed, what the options were, and what the best courses of action would be. As with any large job, there were some scheduling hiccups along the way, but they were sorted quickly and mostly seamlessly to me (as a homeowner.) I would very much suggest them for large or small projects.
The main components of the job: reroute drains from septic to sewer, replacing all drains, and draining and filling old septic tank. remove all steel inbound water lines (including supply from meter), replace with pex. replace and move water heater. replace all faucets/fixtures including shower. change outside hose bibs. replace sump pump with newer model.
Basically, I wanted everything that could be replaced to be replaced--it was a complete rework of the plumbing system, with the goal of not having to think about it for at least 20 years. In the end, moving the water heater was not a good plan--it would have caused more issues than it would have fixed. I mention this because I really appreciated how well the issues and options were explained. If it had been moved, the loss in square footage would not have been worth the gain of moving the appliance. Instead, the water heater was re-worked where it was and brought up to a better standard. David also reworked the drain on the dishwasher, and put in a better system for the icemaker--things about which I would not have even known to ask. I truly couldn't be more pleased with the quality and end result.
The quote I received was inline with the other quotes. It was slightly higher, but offered a much longer (2 yr) warranty--which goes a long way toward my peace of mind.

Trevor was out to our home today for several leaky sinks. He did a great job for us and made sure everything was sealed up good before he left. I have a duplex Mr. Rooter has serviced over a couple of years. After a 6 1/2 hour drive from SC, I wasn't here 15 minutes before being informed the sewer line was plugged. My 2 kids are the tenants. I immediately called Mr. Rooter again and they were here a couple hours later around 7:30 pm. Attempt 1 with the auger didn't work. Clogged at the Y connection so the auger didn't know which way to go. Attempt 2 the next morning with the water jet got us cleared. Douglas was our tech and he is a great young man. Everyone at this company is friendly and professional. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter for all your plumbing issues.

My husband and I purchased a home, after moving in we realized all the plumbing was cast iron, breaking up, backing up and needed to be replaced. Second time using Mr. Rooter. Rusty pipes in laundry room pipes needed to be replace from floor to ceiling. I was very pleased with work that Trevor Smith and Austin Bowling did work on Friday. Trevor checked out what needed to be done he explained everything and cost. Once they got started more issues came up. He informed me what else needed to be done. He was so nice and said he was so sorry (my birthday) Trevor informed me about their three year warranty with it I ended up paying less. The pipes were so rusty, when they started cutting it fell from ceiling. They worked late that night, Trevor returned Saturday morning with Brayon Sheppard. They replaced pipes plus repaired and moved pipes under kitchen sink. Wow, everything looks so much cleaner and neater. I'm very pleased with their work. I'm really glad to have meet all three of them. They were polite, friendly and professional. Trevor kept me informed how things were going and why they needed to leave to get more parts. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter and ask for Trevor. He's young but knows his plumbing. Thank you Trevor, Austin and Brayon.

I have exclusively used Mr Rooter for years and have never been disappointed. All of their plumbers have been friendly and knowledgeable. This time Eric was our person and he was awesome. Very helpful, courteous and a delight. He did a superb job and would ask for him again.
I feel I was taken complete advantage of. I did a little research on the Internet and found that cleaning out a sewer main at a house cost between $250 and $450. Being a holiday weekend, I expected to be in the high end. But the $811 bill I got shocked me! Since I knew the location of the clog and had everything ready, it took less than 2 hours. $400 an hour is obscene.
Plus I had to wait all day because they had a flat tire and said they weren’t coming. I already had another plumber on the way and had to cancel them when these guys showed up with little warning. Since I had to catch a plane at the airport, they had me in a corner, they knew it , and took complete advantage. I would recommend to anyone to stay far away from Mr. Rooter!

Technician was Troy, A-1, clean sharp uniform, knowledgeable, work site left so clean you wouldn't know work was done in the area. Great customer service too.
Price was double this time. They been to my house a couple times for the same issue, but for some reason the price doubled! Two guys came for one job, so I guess I had to pay both guys, for a one man job! The job is usually around $225-250, but this time they wanted $524! You shouldn’t do repeat customers that way. Bad business!

Communication was poor. The technician arrived over two hours after the arrival window. While I was waiting I called twice for an update and both times was told I’d get a call back and didn’t. The third time I was told he was on his way and he didn’t show up until over an hour later. I called with a follow up question twice and never heard back.
The technician was courteous and I haven’t had trouble with the work done.

Mr. Rooter is the second plumbing service I have used since moving to Lexington and I can't imagine using any other service now. Our Technicians Shawn and Alex, along with our estimator Erick and the office staff that communicated with us were very courteous and professional. The response time between the initial call, the quote, and the work being performed was fantastic. We needed a main line replaced along with the majority of our plumbing system under the house and at no point did they leave us without service. The amount of work to try and put everything back as it originally had been is greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter for anyone in their service area!

My wife and I called Mr Rooter because of a kitchen drain that was clogged and our garbage disposal stopped working. Come to find out, the garbage disposal is rusted and will grt replaced this coming summer. The drain pipe got cleaned with a 25 foot wire. The clog is no longer there and the drain works perfect. We look forward to using Mr Rooter to replace our garbage disposal this coming year!

Trenton showed up on time and was very professional. Had my problems diagnosed with an estimate within 10 minutes. Had my washer valves and drain replaced and brought up to code in no time. Very pleased would highly recommend
If I could give this zero stars, I would. We called them out becaus we had some sort of leak in our dining room ceiling. After spending $153 on the diagnostic fee with no diagnosis, we were told to go about our normal business and try to catch it leaking. We caught it and it seems that the problem is something that a very novice plumber would catch - the tub overflow. I practically had to beg the guy to investigate beyond looking at the shower with a flashlight. I am so unimpressed and we will not be using Mr. Rooter again.

I was very satisfied with my technician, he was professional and explained everything going on and involved me with everything, I didn't feel like I was over charged and I was satisfied with the price.
The service tech was very friendly & professional and did great work.
The guy who came out to check the system seemed to know his stuff and did a good job. However the dispatcher told me that they would not be able to pump out my system for a few weeks until they got a part for the truck in stock. I was ok, with that since the system was working OK. Then I was advised by the tech that they didn't even do pumping for Fayette Co and I had to call another company AFTER paying for the initial visit.! So two bills. Not totally satisfied.

We can’t say enough good things about Mr. Rooter. When our block had a sewer emergency, we called Mr. Rooter after a recommendation from our neighbor. Douglas was at our house within an hour. He was professional, polite, and answered all of our questions. Because Douglas serviced our neighbor’s home as well, he was able to help us quickly mitigate the issue. We also had great service with Erick, who completed some follow up work the next day.

Always call around for a bid! They came half hour too early and cancelled my appointment.
Left a huge mess behind, will finish cleaning on my days off. Told me I need to get a shop vac. Like I’m going to do that effort to spend over $900 have them come out and do this work. Didn’t even bother to cover up the entrance to my crawlspace.

Analysis of the issue was done well in a short amount of time. It was determined that the clothes washer drain was clogged as opposed to a broken pipe.
I couldn't recommend unless you're desperate and no one else is available: No over the phone quotes, they'll send someone out who tries to sell you much more than you need done because they won't waste their time with small jobs, and the prices are egregious. You'll have a tech in your home that can do a job in 5 minutes holding you over the fire for an outrageous repair fee.

Unclogged a drain and reset a toilet (had new floor installed). I happily give Mr. English a 10+ because he represented the company well and is a very valued employee representing Mr.Rooter.
I give the company a - 9. The only negative i will say is it was $200.+ to just to set a toilet. Flange was ok, i had a new seal already to use and he only had to supply new bolts. It is what it is and i agreed to it prior, but i felt that price was extremely overpriced (no fault of the tech). After the services were completed and the service paid for, i was presented with a business card for 20% off FUTURE service. It would have been nice to use that savings at the time the service was performed, especially on setting the toilet.
Brandon Sheppard was a very respectful plumber and knowledgeable of what he was doing, and helped us with our issue. He fixed our problem and we even had a pleasant conversation, highly recommend his services and will request him next time I have an issues.

We had 5 clogged drains which affected showers and the kitchen. We fully expected for next day service costing 200-300.
What we got was nothing less than awesome. The technician was on sight with in the hour of calling, and a supervisory technician completed the job right after lunch. Job was completed quickly and professionally in under 30 minutes. After seeing what we feel led to do in this ministry, the final total nothing short of the biggest God moment of the day. Well under $100.

Tyler R spent the whole day doing a hydroscrub on some extremely gunky pipes. He was pleasant and helpful the whole day! Best part is that he got the issue resolved and I can now resume water usage as normal.
Our technician was highly knowledgeable and considerate- he took ample time to investigate his finding and relay them to us without feeling rushed. They are very professional! Their communications are clear. They show up when they say they will and in my case they unclogged a drain that I spent several hours with an electric snake trying to unclog. Their pricing is fair. Their technicians take the extra steps to get the job done!

Matt and Alan repaired the new but failing septic system and plumbing system the previous ex-plumber and ex-septic installer attempted but failed miserably to install. My basement flooded several times due to a previous shoddy job. To take on a repair job of such magnitude would scare most away. Not Mr Rooter. Matt and Alan of Mr Rooter were absolutely the most courteous, hard working, punctual, and thorough workers I have ever seen! They were in my house for 5-6 days and were amazing in every aspect. They even stayed until near 8p on a Friday evening! They explained everything in detail and cleaned everything to a point where it was cleaner than when they found it. I was initially impressed by the owner - David - and a manager - Eric - who came twice to evaluate the situation and measure. I have already requested additional service for inspecting the septic system in the horse barn, the spring fed water trough for the cattle and the other cattle auto-waterer. As a recent widow, I am so thankful and relieved that Bryan of Pro4mance Industrial Cleaning - who had to sanitize my basement too many times - for referring this fabulous company!

A utility company was digging in our yard and smashed the water main, ripping it out of our house. Mr. Rooter had someone over a few hours later to evaluate the problem. The next morning, Matt Dopal was here to fully examine in greater detail and made sure the contractors didn't try to attempt a low quality outdoor repair.
The next day, Cole Johnson was the installer who got everything hooked back up and our water restored. He did a great job and explained everything so we have peace of mind that this will be a lasting, safe solution.

I was so pleased by the service of Mr Rooter Plumbing. I had a number of plumbing problems occur that included a pressure problem with my toilet, a stopped up toilet, a backup with my dishwasher and a couple of problems with my faucets. All of this just happened at once while I dealing with caring for a critically ill family member in my home. I called and they were there right away. Within a few hours everything was fixed and working perfectly and the technician was extremely respectful of my situation. It certainly helped relieve some of the stress I was going through. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.
Trusted Mr. Rooter with a four-figure renovation of my drainage system last year; called them back yesterday in an unrelated emergency to fix a bathtub tap that wouldn't turn off (scary!). Lane was a total professional, showing me what I should have done to shut the water off, as well as quickly and efficiently providing the proper repair. This company was called for a basic toilet clog and was specific about what the problem was. I was told they could do it, but would be charged $59 for the call. That $ would be credited to actual work done. When tech came out he informed me that they would not do a simple toilet clog, but would have to take out the toilet replace parts and re-install. Quote was over $400. This was unprofessional and misleading on both the tech and the call center. Do not use the company in Lexington.
Had an issue with our septic tank. Turned out there was a blockage. Cole Johnson took care of it quickly and professionally. If it happens again Mr. Rooter will be the first one I'll call. Very pleased!

I called Mr. Rooter for an estimate for a battery back-up for my sump pump, turns out, I needed a new sump pump, which I had my suspicions. Ironically, I had my last sump pump installed 10 years to the day the new one is being installed. Just had work completed by them today and was very pleased with the service.
I needed someone to come out ASAP due to an event we have coming up. Typically I try to find small mom and pop operations to support them. Unfortunately, It’s getter harder and harder to be sympathetic when many of these businesses/individuals can’t even return a phone call or message.
I did have concerns about pricing due to some of the previous reviews. I did feel the pricing was fair and reasonable for the service. You probably could find cheaper service in the “good old boy” network, but good luck with that. You will get what you pay for.
My only real complaint was that I had to clean up multiple rubber gloves from the crawl space that were left behind and some scrap piping. Not sure what the policy on removing material is, but trash should be removed without question. Not a huge deal because I felt tech went above and beyond in other areas.
Brandon and Gabe went above and beyond. They returned today after reviewing photos to make a minor adjustment. So nice to have workmen who are dedicated and talented.

Mr. Rooter provided good service and did a good job. The down side is that they charged $400.00 to clean out my line to the septic tank. This is a common plumbing problem and only took and hour to complete. Come on guys don't you think $400.00 per hour is excessive!!!
The two technicians, Brandon and Kevin, arrived on time and explained what needed to be done and how they would accomplish that. They were very knowledgeable, efficient, and most of all very courteous, all qualities rarely seen in the service industry today.
I also appreciate Amanda and Presley for their kind and courteous responses on the phone.
Robert showed up earlier than our original appointment time and had my problems diagnosed with an estimate within 10 minutes. He was very patient with our credit card issues and made sure everything was working correctly before leaving. We were very pleased with our service- would highly recommend!

Matthew from Mr. Rooter plumbing really came through for us today. He was thorough in his investigations, took time to answer all our questions, and left our home cleaner than he found it. He was polite, professional, and was above and beyond in providing the kind of care and support you need when you have a scary plumbing issue.
I have recommended Mr. Rooter to family and friends before, but I can't recommend them enough. If you need an honest, highly qualified plumbing service, call them first.

Called late at night for problem with toilet backing up and asked for someone to come out first thing in the morning. Don showed up in the promised time frame (one hour). He clearly explained the the type of problem we had and did a careful check to locate the clog. At all times he was careful and polite. I would definitely call Mr. Rooter again if or probably when I have more plumbing problems.
Within 1 hour of my initial phone call to Mr. Rooter, there was someone at my house to help fix my drain. he was polite, professional, worked quickly and cleaned up after himself. I was more than pleased with this service.

Employees were all very professional. I had extensive work down over a three day period. They removed all cast iron pipes that were aged and deteriorating and replaced with PVC pipe. I am very satisfied with the finished project.
Mr. Rooter responded the same day I called them, and I was really glad about that. ERICK and his partner arrived right on schedule and performed laundry room sink and the kitchen sink on both cleared the blockage. Second time Mr. Rooter saved the day! Our first experience was their quick and expert diagnosis and repair of a large septic leak. Yesterday, our service call was expedited since an upstairs toilet had leaked into the drywall downstairs.

I appreciated the quick and easy arrangement for a technician to come out to the property and solve the issue. Between the call and the technician the next day my problems were solved within 24 hours.
Rudest “office manager” around. Prices are RIDICULOUS! Had an emergency last night, paid them 200+ to unclog a drain with a “30 day warranty”, then next day my sink in my bathroom stopped up! Had them come back out, and they say ohhh well this is unrelated it’s anothed $229.00! What kind of service is this!? A bait and switch!? So immediately after the guy leaves I call the “office manager” and she argues with me telling me oh well there is nothing I can do, I can write down your complaint and have the owner call you, then hung up on me without ONE APOLOGY.. WARNING***AWFUL COMPANY DO NOT USE*** Had trouble with a leak on my hot water tank. Mr. Rooter sent out an alleged serviceman who looked at the tank and immediately said it needed to be replaced (at a cost of approximately $1,500.00). He refused to diagnose the cause, and refused to repair, stating it must be replaced REALLY? The issue was ultimately solved with a simple .50 cent rubber washer that a non-plumber found and fixed. The question is how many other people have been ripped off by Mr. Rooter???

The pump to our outdoor holding tank went out and tripped the breaker, they were able to come out timely to pump out the tank and send another technician to install new pump and discuss why the pump alarm didn’t activate. Explained how they can provide a reconfigured system for the future and will provide that estimate/service in near future.

I’ve lived in Lexington for 25 years in an older historic home. When our cottage sprung a massive leak, Mr Rooter sent ‘Doug’—an amiable hard-worker who found MULTIPLE leaks in an old system. As the repairs grew immediately costly, he offered several on-the-spot options and solutions to easy my pain.
He was professional, fair, and I got the real sense that he cared about my situation and duress. He made a horrible situation manageable and his demeanor engendered my confidence in his knowledge and skills.

We had a dramatic increase in our water bill indicating a possible leak. The water company recommended a plumber come inspect the property since we could not hear or detect any leak ourselves. Very professional. New sump pump was put in but due to an honest mistake, sump pump back up failed and it cause damage to my kid's closet and bedroom. That being said, the company was out quickly, fixed the issue, got restoration coming out and is handling all repairs. Mistakes happen and it is important to me how people handle their mistakes. Mr Rooter charged me $178.68 to Diagnose my valve and that my cartridge was bad. I was quoted $389.00 to replace the cartridge. I declined any further service. I went to Lowes and bought the cartridge for $59.99 - installed it myself, faucet fixed! $178.68 to tell me the cartridge was bad and $389.00 to change out a $59.99 cartridge? You do the math. The last time I will ever do business with this company.

Allen was fantastic! He installed our kitchen faucet and soap dispenser after we got new countertops. We were in a bind but he was able to come out the same day (on a Saturday) that we called. The soap dispenser came loose a month later and Allen came back out an hour after I called about it to fix it. Excellent customer service and I love how they guarantee their work.

I took a chance and called the Mr Rooter company from the internet, they advertised a coupon. The service I got was above and beyond what I expected. Matt G and Alan M came to my house, diagnosed a very tricky problem, jackhammered and repaired PVC pipe and cleaned everything up to perfection. They could not have been more professional and were a pleasure to have in our home. I'm so thankful I called Mr Rooter, so thankful Jenn sent Matt and Alan. Because of these qualified and kind technicians, I'll never call another company.
Technician did a professional and clean job, but when he quoted the project he said the cost was high because we were getting a commercial water heater. When asked to provide a invoice with labor and material cost he said he couldn’t. After speaking with a company rep she seemed amazed someone would ask and said she had no way of knowing the cost. After researching the cost of the water heater on line the hourly cost is about $400. Can not recommend Mr. Rooter due to cost

Mr. Rooter was the only one that would come out to see me without charging me an up front fee. Some of the fee were $80+. Unreal. I think the mans name was Troy that came out to see me. He was in a GREAT mood, he seemed like he really was having a good time. He was very honest with me and told me that I could fix my water heater myself for a fraction of the cost. He walked me through how to do it and told me to call him if I ran into any issues. I was blown away and Troy's helpfulness and honestly he brightened my day. Give Troy a raise! Mr. Rooter has earned my future business because of this interaction.

Tyler R. was my service technician and solved every problem on my list in an extremely thorough, timely and professional manner and I couldn’t be more pleased with his service over the 12+ hours he was at my home. I think when you pay for a service, you should get a good faith effort at success.
Sure he was late. Sure the charge for clearing a clog would be exorbitant. Over a barrel, though, right?
The tech was friendly enough, but after trying to snake my kitchen sink for 5 minutes or so, he said he couldn't clear it from the sink. Down we went into the crawl space and found the joint where the clog probably was. To our good fortune, the pvc pipe had been spliced about a foot from that joint. So it should have been easy enough to unscrew that little splice and run the snake from there. I suggested as much and he said, I will not do that. First it was because if it worked, water would come pouring into the crawlspace, then because it risked damaging a pipe (although I had already released Mr. Rooter from liability for things like that).
So rather than the $300 it was supposed to cost to clear the drain, he only charged me $100 for his 30 minutes of not fixing it, or continuing to try. But no worries of course, because they can send someone out to replace who knows how many pipes. (You saw that one coming, didn't your?) So they got my $100 and they would want well over a thousand to replace some pipes.
I think any service implies a good faith effort at success, and this service fell short. It is really that simple. They should be ashamed. Their premium prices should reflect a premium effort.
Be warned, if your sink is clogged, it is probably because Mr. Rooter thinks you need thousands of dollars of new pipes.
PS- After he left, I went down with my dollar store hand snake and cleared it by going through the splice area like we had discussed.
PPS- I notice that their website includes numerous positive reviews, all of them 5 stars in fact. The most recent was 2020. Just saying.
To owner's response: You don't show me as a customer? Does my situation ring a bell at all? Funny how you think all these negative reviews come from people you never dealt with. You are ridiculous charlatans.
You ask for a chance to chat? I chatted with you at the time of the incident, you said to look at the agreement I signed. Bottom line: you did not provide a good faith effort at fixing the problem, and instead suggested a very extensive and expensive fix. Yes, your prices are exploitative in any case, but I'd at least expect you to do what you were called to do not try to upsell me by thousands of dollars. Facts are facts.
I called mid-morning and a technician was at our house by 2 pm. Lane identified the problem, fixed it, and was on his way in less than an hour. We couldn’t be happier with the service we received. Hopefully we don’t have more plumbing problems, but if we do I’m calling Mr. Rooter!

I called them on a Monday morning, didn’t really expect them to be able to get to me quickly but they arrived within 4 hours. I’ve lived in this house for almost 40 years and nothing has been done to the sewer lines. It took quite a while to remove the actual clog and clean out the lines. They had everything with them needed for the job and even though it took a lot longer than anticipated, they honored the original estimate. I will definitely use them again next time I need a plumber.

Mr. Rooter responded the same day I called them. Trenton arrived right on schedule and performed a toilet removal. He worked with me on a timeline to install the new one and when I was prepared, I called Mr. Rooter and received same day service. Trenton and Brandon arrived and installed in less than an hour. I was in the middle of working from home and didn't even notice they had completed the task. Both were extremely respectful and didn't hesitate to answer my questions. They came out and gave me an estimate on an outside sewer repair which I ultimate had completed at a third of the price they quoted. Their quote was ridiculous with no details behind it. Suggest checking with others before using them.
I was able to get an appointment surprisingly quickly. The young man who came to do the work was incredibly courteous and capable. He explained everything to me very well.
You are way over priced. you damaged my newly tiled floor (the grout is stained) because you did not put anything down around where the toilet had been even though you could see the line was full and you were splashing around with the camera and the snake.
Also the guy tried to tell me the reason this backed up was because the house went from having multiple people using the bathroom sending more water through the system to keep it flushed out to having only one person. What a joke! I lived for 8 years by myself in my last house and never had it back up on me. SERIOUSLY! do people really believe that line?
UPDATE
One of the things this company told me was that they could not get the camera into the line to check the line going out from my house and that because of that I would need to install an outside cleanout in front at a cost of over 1500 dollars. So I called another local plumber to schedule that project. When they got here they said they will not install that until they know what is going on out there and where. They referred me to another company to run a camera (as this first company does not do this). This new company had the camera in the line and run the length of the pipe in under 15 minutes. He then sent the snake into the drain with a small blade and sent it a second time with a larger blade and opened my drain at 1/3 the cost and without having to install an outside cleanout.
Mr. Rooter belongs to a family of companies called a neighborly company. If this is how one branch of the family operates, in my opinion, there is a good chance they all operate in that manner. I will not do business with any A Neighborly company family member.
Oh by the way. I spoke to the boss about the tile issue. she sent a cleaning company over to clean it at their expense. When the service rep was finished he told me that more than likely it will not remove the stain. He was right. They charged me 500 dollars just to pull one toilet and snake from the toilet to the horizontal drain. it did open my immediate clog, but I later learned that I could have had that much work done for about half the price. And I am left with stained grout on a brand new bathroom floor. Buyer beware.

We live in an old home that comes with a 100 year old clay sewage pipe. Tree roots have comprised it to the point that we had to make the investment in a liner repair. I have used every plumber in Lexington in the last 5 years for cleanup and bit the bullet for this repair choosing Mr. Rooter. Hands down the most informative, patient, professional group I’d talked to. They gave me product information, alternatives and walked me through all aspects of my situation- and allowed me to research materials used. Erick quoted me and I had Alan and Trent who performed the 3-day liner repair. These guys were incredible and worked hard, quickly and respectably. This is not a fun thing for a home owner to have to do, but I felt taken care of after the job was completed. 100% would use them again and recommend to anyone in the Ashland area who needs to protect their old sewage pipe without the trench option.
