Mister Sparky of Indianapolis

I don't recommend this company at all.I'll start with the good news, which is that the wiring that they did works.Now with the negative. Thus was the sloppiness interior work that I have ever had done and there is permanent damage to a wall that will require drywall repair and repainting. Previous interior work that we have had done (electricians, window replacement, shower door installation, etc) left no signs of any work ever being done. They were meticulous and cleaned up after themselves.Mr. Sparky was the sloppiest work I have ever seen. It appears that they may have used any other tool besides a saw to make the holes for the wiring. They then tried to cover it up with another electrical plate on one wall and they lusy left it as it was on another. They damaged my paint in other areas.They also left a huge mess.Naturally, I called and complained. They sent the technician back out to correct some things, but he couldn't fix giant hole in the wall.They put me in touch with a general contractor to fix the damage. We are still waiting for the work to get done.

We called and had a technician out the same day for a comprehensive quote. We need quite a bit of work done from replacing an entire circuit breaker box to adding new lines and fixtures. They brought a team of three professionals out the same week and had the job accomplished in a day. They all were polite and professional. Mr. Sparky will absolutely get all my future business as we continue our renovations. Solid 10/10!

This was my first “annual” checkup since we have had Mr. Sparky on our home (condo) electrical plan. Tyler was very nice, taking the time to explain everything he was doing. In addition, I enjoyed Jennifer the communicator on the phone. She called me to say they were running a little late which I appreciated. Then she called me to let me know they were on their way. All in all, a nice experience.

Martin L. with Mister Sparky came out to fix a closet light that stopped working. He did a great job for a reasonable price, and we'd definitely use their services again. I found them on Thumbtack and office staff responded to my inquiry immediately. Very impressed!

Very happy with our service from Mr. Sparky. They were quick to respond and schedule. Steve Lockman was very professional. He did a great job in repairing what I had broke (even taking the time to explain what he needed to do) and stayed to complete three other jobs we needed done. Brett who came to help me with options for the car charger at my property was very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. He was very patient in understanding my needs and proposing several solutions. I have still not gone ahead with their services yet as it costs quite a bit and I have to wrap my head around it. But this is a very professional company and quite punctual.

Xavier was a pleasure. Very friendly and professional. Installed a ceiling fan with ease. We will be requesting him for our next service.

Brett was fantastic. He was timely, professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and really helped educate our household on our electrical system. We had absolutely no power for over 2 days and are so relieved he got the job done. If we ever have any electrical issues going forward, he’s our guy.

I called Mr. Sparky looking for same day service. They were able to send someone out within two hours. I was surprised and very happy for their response. Everyone I talked to on the phone was extremely professional and polite. Then our electrician, Mark, showed up on time and was very professional, and explained not only what the problem was, but explained how it was that he was going to fix the issue. His main concern was the safety of our house because we had had a power surge that had affected a couple outlets. I appreciate his concern for the long-term issue. I can’t say enough how much we appreciated Marks help. He was very thorough, cleaned up when the job was finished, and kept us informed along the way as to what was happening. Because of my excellent experience with Mark and Mr. Sparky, I will be calling them again for other electrical needs that we have. I gave them a five star review, but if there were more stars, I would give them a 10 star review.

Called Mister Sparky this morning around 8am and Tyler, our tech, was at our home within 2 hours. Amazing service and quickly resolved. Tyler was professional and had such a positive attitude! Will definitely continue to use this company for future projects.

We called Mr Sparky after our old panel caught fire. Robert was able to be there in just a few hours and quickly assessed that it was loose connections between the breaker and the bus bar that had caused the fire. He was able to replace the whole panel while he was there and was great at answering my questions while he worked. You could tell he cares about doing his job well. He was even willing to take a look at some of my appliances to confirm that they hadn't been damaged by the arcing and power fluctuations that had taken place when the old panel burned up.

Robert did a fantastic job! He was timely, always communicated what he was doing next if it affected what was going on in the house, and overall was very pleasant. He did a great job placing a new outlet for us, repairing another, and stopping power to something we were no longer using. Plus, we booked last night and were able to get an appointment this morning to get the work done. Highly recommend!

Brett met with me to provide an inspection of electrical needs including updating the breaker box and components. Brett was very professional and helpful in his knowledge. He carefully explained why and how wiring upgrades would be protective and efficient for my home's needs. Trustworthy service!

Steve is an amazing. He knows his work and what he is doing. He is very professional,kind and caring. Martin was good but Steve was awesome. The other crew members are a joke and disrespectful I was not happy with them and there was no communication at all from the team lead Jerry. Brett was a jerk when he came out both times not friendly at all. But over all Steve was a 10/10 hands down.

Brett was great. He showed me burnt wires in the attic that could have left us homeless or worse. He got rid of old wires and installed new ones quickly & professionally.I’m going to request Brett this spring when I have the whole breaker box replaced.

$560 for light installation and to problem solve a wiring issue keeping two rooms from getting power. Martin and Mark (?) Got everything up and running in an hour or two, and explained their work and what we can try next time we attempt to hang a fixture ourselves. Thanks guys!

Called Mr. Sparky as they were the top result in Google. Technician came out next day. Technician seemed knowledgeable, but he wanted to charge a $346 diagnostic fee on top of the $89 trip charge just to identify the issue. Cost to replace an outlet was quoted at $119 per outlet.

Business responded quickly and took care of the problem. Mark was very professional and explained everything in a way that I could understand. My only complaint is that the company called to say he was on the way and he was still an hour and a half away - could be more specific.

Mr.Steve did an excellent job. I will ask for him again. I have more things to be done at a later date.

Called Friday, scheduled for Monday. Professional, knowledgeable electrician, Tyler, arrived on the front end of the time window. He completed an inspection of our electrical system, installed a new fixture efficiently and explained in detail all of his findings.

Marquevis was very professional. Very thorough in finding the problem, explaining what happened and what he was going to do to fix it. If I ever need an electrician again, I will definitely call Mr Sparky. I'd never heard of this business before I had to use you. I got your referral from Angi.

Someone came out to do a quote for me for from this company, and after he poked around my house and left, the electric in my kitchen was not working which has never happened before. I am certain it was caused by something he did. It took until the next day for someone to come out and fix what he broke, and they charged me almost $500 to fix a problem they caused when all I wanted was a quote for a project in a completely different room (the bathroom). I am a single woman and the person who came out made me feel uncomfortable, touched my shoulder at one point, and I didn't argue the unfair payment because I wanted him to leave my house. I would never use this electric company, especially if you are a woman or someone who doesn't know a lot about electric and can be taken advantage of.

Brett was so informative on things our house needs in regards to wiring. He was only here for a quote but he explained everything and took time to make sure I understood what needed to be done.

y home was only running with half power so anything that was 220 would not work. The electrician showed up at 8am expecting to have a helper but with all of the tornadoes and bad storms he was on his own to start the long job of replacing 1 leg of my power which was a 10 hour job. It was cold and windy he never complained. He was very helpful and explained everything he had to do and told me to step out and take the pictures I needed for my insurance company. So as the day went on He never stopped working he did not take a lunch or any breaks it was like he was in his own little world as he wrapped up what we thought was the end of his day. He called the power company to hook my service back up and what started out as a 10 hour day turned into a 17 hour day. When the power company arrived and hooked my power back up they had a problem in he main box and quickly disconnected my service and placed a call to have a portable power supply delivered after it was delivered they had to call a different crew to hook up the power supply so finally at midnight the crew showed up. He never left he property he never took a lunch or a dinner and made sure that everything was working and that all of the trash was picked up. This is the second time I have used Mister Sparky and I will use them again. I have no complaint they have great customer service and a well trained staff.

Xavier was very professional! Arrived in the time he said he would arrive and after he found the issue spent the time to explain the situation and why the issue came up in the first place. Prices are high these days, but with a Pro like Xavier it was a little less painful. And having the safety of knowing the job was done properly makes it a little better too.

Brett filled me in with details and simple explanations of the work to be done, completed the work without delay and left the space clean. When the work was completed, he walked me through the work that was done. Very satisfied with the whole experience!

They told us on the phone it was an $85 charge for a diagnostic fee and then when the repairman showed up he told us that fee is to just get them to your door the charge is actually $359 for him to run a diagnostic. Sounds so shady to say one thing and then when we said we didn't want to go with them he said well you still owe the $85 now.

Had our light switches updated as well as had smart switches installed. Jerry did a great job and was professional.

I have requested a receipt for the work they performed four times, and they have never sent it. Three times they said they would send the receipt via email, and it was never in my inbox or junk box. The fourth time I asked them to mail it to me, and it never arrived. So unprofessional.

They came to remediate a ring doorbell installation. Also to install to homeowner supplied LED lights for Canlite replacement. Lastly, to diagnose a different Canlite problem.Well, the doorbell now rings on the outside, but the chime does not work. I was told to buy a 30 amp transformer. You think a professional installer would have the appropriate parts and include that in the quote supplied. Not the case here.I can light replacement was fine and operates as expected.The remediation ultimately produced advice that I should buy a replacement switch that is rated for LED lights. Again, installer did not include that in his initial estimate.So, $678 later, I’ve installed a new switch for the Canlite and a transformer for the doorbell and the doorbell chime still does not ring.At these consulting rates, Mr. Sparky should work for Accenture consulting!Underwhelming.

They caused a whole house power surge that took out a tv, our furnace, and every surge suppressor we had in the house - which burned a hole in our carpet. And made us pay to fix our furnace and for their services. Do not use unless you want to pay for their mistakes.

I cannot say enough good things about our interaction with Mr. Sparky. We came home from a vacation to find a failed electric panel in our home. We called Mr. Sparky and they were at our home within 2 hours, had a game plan and completed installation of a new electrical panel within 2 days. The technician was friendly, competent and efficient. He also cleaned up his workspace and was easy to interact with. Well done, Mr. Sparky!!

I met with Brett for a quote and he was very knowledgeable, didn't try to upset me and made me feel comfortable with all of the work that needs done. He even gave recommendations for other contractors that could help with other work I need done. He was able to give me options and was honest about thing he wasn't 100% sure about. Highly recommend.

Jerry was punctual and nice. What was possibly going to just be a walk through ended up being a completed job/installation same day which was wonderful. Jerry is professional and hardworking. We plan to use him again if we needed any more help with electrical. Things installed: Ceiling fan/light, Kitchen pendant lights, office light and bedroom light. He also installed 3 dimmer switches

Robert was able to come out same-day, which was crucial because we were without heat and it was dropping to under 20. The issue was one that AES was required to come fix, but when we mentioned that we'd had them out in the past to look at the same problem and hadn't been taken seriously, he stayed (for hours) to make sure that the AES technician came out the same day and fixed the issue. Thanks Robert!

We were remodeling the bathroom in our 1910 house and found a live fuse box behind the shower door. We called all our local electricians and they were backed up for weeks. We decided to try further out of our area and called Mr. Sparky. Not only could they get is in the same day but Xavier was Olathe our house within a few hours. He was very polite and professional. We will definitely be calling them for other electrical issues/services in our house and will request Xavier if possible.

I called on a Friday afternoon and a technician was at my house within 2 hours!! Robert was very attentive to my needs, and solved my lighting problem in no time. He also fixed the seal of my shower light.

They checked to make sure the fuse in my outdoor breaker box was still good. Also inspected wiring from breaker to hot tub and found issue with hot tub circuit board.

I am terrible with wiring. Xavier was polite and professional, and figured out the problem in 30 seconds. He fixed our wiring and pointed out what was going on with the wiring in our home (it's an older house). Would use again.

We received a confirmation on who the assigned tech was and a photo also! Tyler was prompt, polite and efficient! Communicated the problem and fixed it quickly…even answered other questions we had. Mr. Sparky was the only company who answered our call right away and was able to respond within a reasonable timeframe, especially given current standards. Would use them again.

I had Mister Sparky service my house that had an outlet out in a kitchen. They insisted I get a new main breaker / power box outside and inside. This cost me 6,000 dollars. Within a day, the house didn’t have power and outlets went out throughout the house. I set up several appointments, two of them they no showed. They came back out and said I needed new circuits which would be 600 dollars and I said no. I called the district manager over 15 times. They finally agreed to come out and service the house. They only put in a circuit, made it sound like everything was a miscommunication. But guess what? Still no power in rooms of the house, which they blamed wiring. Turns out they left brand new wiring (live wiring) upstairs in my attic and the wires had been cut and laying hot on my floor causing it to smoke. The manager denied faulty work saying Hendricks power approved the work. Hendricks power stated they never went inside, and only approved main power lines to the outside box. Mister Sparky caused so much damage to my house, that I called several more electricians for quotes to get power back on and people are quoting me over 30,000 dollars due to the damage they created. They also commented that my tenant “was turning off power in the home”. Like seriously? They also caused two refrigerators to short circuit, costing me several hundred dollars. Absolutely the worst experience of my life. Never ever would I recommend this company. DO NOT CALL THEM!

Very pleasant experience. Got me on the schedule quickly and were responsive to calls when I had a question. The electrician who came out was very nice and quick and told us it was just a problem with the power line. Appreciated that he didn't try to pretend it was something else so he'd get more money, nice to have trustworthy people to call!

Our neighbor inquired about a repair and was quoted $3,000. Turns out it was an issue that AES replaces for free, and said any electrician would know to just call [AES] Seems scammy.

Had an appointment for these guys to come out and they charged me $89 for the visit. Ok, understandable. But then they proceed to tell me that it will cost almost $400 for them to diagnose the problem. $400!! So your business charges to come out AND a fee for troubleshooting?? Im out of $500 before anything is even fixed? No thank you, take your $89 and leave. Mr. Quik is a way better deal. Will never call again.

Power kept going off in part of our house. Jerry evaluated the electrical panel and determined that we need a new one. Scheduled for him to install new one next week. Very nice guy. Mister Sparky should give him a raise for sure.

After conversation with him and his suggestions I am considering changing more then just the one in ceiling light. He was very personal and kind .

Robert did an excellent job. Robert checked the switch and knew it was the light fixture. He installed the new light fixture we had with no problems. Was here less than hour.

Here were the notes from Mister Sparky on our invoice, “Customer had three fixtures that she wanted us to switch out to new fixtures. Two were regular light fixtures and one is a ceiling fan. The fixture in thedinning room was over 20 and told her we unfortunately don t have a tall enough ladder to reach the light fixture. Customer had a ceiling fan that was in her family room that she wanted removed. Unfortunately, our ladder would not reach that either. Customer also had a light in her front door entrance that we could not due to the amount of space that is provided in the front entrance”Mind you, when we originally called to set up the appointment, we told them the ceilings were 27 feet tall.They showed up at 1:13 and left my house at 1:22.They charged $89.95 for this…. $89.95 to tell us they don’t have tall enough ladders for the job.I called to speak with a representative as I was not home when the technician was at my residence. The call taker advised a manger would reach out to me. I did not hear from a manager.Again, that’s $89.95 to walk into my house to say they don’t have a big enough ladder and leave.

Tough job done timely and well. On time. Professionally completed. Wil use Mr Sparky again. Have recommended Mr Sparky to friends.

Mr. Sparky's repairman Robert was very nice, respectable and knew his job. He was on time I recommend this company and am very pleased. The price was also reasonable.

Needed assistance installing some high end switches. With the tech's help, we were ultimately able to see that the switches would not work with my home's wiring or something to that effect. Still worth it as it saved me time and headaches and the silver lining being that returning the switches would cover the service call.

Replacement of old circuit breaker panel, weather mast, surge suppressor, ground, and two outdoor outlets. Hard job in chilly weather! They stuck to the job and left the site with hardly a snip of wire.

Jerry and his team upgraded our electrical system. They asked questions ti ensure that every outlet or light switch was serviced. Each person quietly got the job done. They worked from 8:30 am - nearly 9 pm . It was a lot of work but it was worth it and our system is working perfectly.

Bret was on time, personal, professional and knowledgeable! We had fire inside our panel box that was discovered by another fabulous company employee named Doug that was working on another issue for us. We phone Sparky and in less than 15 mins we received a text with Bret’s photo in his company uniform standing by his service vehicle, letting us know who we could expect. Outstanding communication!! Within the next 15 mins Bret with a smile was ringing the doorbell! Bret inspected the box, turn off the power, removed the burnt fuse, rewired them to extra slots we had and suggested, we upgrade the service entry panel box, as he noticed some things were not safe nor up to code. So we took his advice and had Sparky complete the work.

Chuck was knowledgeable about what was needed and fixed all the repairs my inspection sheet advised. He was pleasant and respectful. I would recommend his services again. Thank you!

The technician, Eduardo was extremely professional and communicative. He recognized that my wife was wanting to work from home so he set up a generator to power our home wifi while he installed the new electrical equipment. He deserves a little hazard pay for working near an active Yellowjacket nest that was being exterminated as he worked. Very satisfied with the outcome.

Robert has done work for me before. He is always on time, courteous, professional, conscientious, friendly and very knowledgeable of his craft. He answered my questions and was reassuring when I had doubts about my lighting selections. I had 2 outdoor lighting installs, 1 indoor lighting install and 1 bathroom vent w/lighting stall. Had a multiple outlet fixture that was throwing sparks and causing an outage along the line. after several attempts to fix it myself by watching YOU TUBE, I realized this best be handled by a professional. I called Mister Sparky and they sent Chuck Hill I don't know how we got this lucky, I asked for a pro, and we got one. not only is he very good at his job he is a wonderful person, if all the folks at Mister Sparky are like Chuck Hill It's no wonder they are as successful as they appear to be. Called about a serious electrical issue but the guy over the phone was more worried about getting out the business spiel. Tried to ask a question and he only wanted to schedule an appointment instead of answering the question, made sure to keep repeating the business spiel. Barely listened to me while also making sure to get the business spiel in again. Tried to schedule an appointment even though I needed to figure out when they could come out. I hung up on him in the middle of maybe the 4 or 5 business spiel

I had a whole house surge protector installed in 2013 and the storm at the end of May zapped a few things. They were not covered to replace what got zapped but all my plugs in my house now work so that's a plus. Robert is a very personable guy that knows his stuff!

Chuck was very professional and knowledgeable. I had requested an estimate on what it would take to rewire my whole house. Chuck did a full inspection and let me know the price to rewire the whole house. However, he also let me know that I probably didn't need to do the whole house (just a few new circuits in my kitchen).I appreciate that he didn't try to sell me more than I needed and diagnosed my problems. Very professional, very quick repair and it was a large, involved project. Plan ahead, tho, appointments are usually 2 weeks out, so if you need an immediate repair you may have to wait. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Tyler from Mr. Sparky has done a great job.Even though on our end as the consumer, we have had difficulties with my mom being elderly and needing her caregiver to be the point of contact for the install. We have had transformer troubles due to older home issues. We have had internet problems due to mom not using it.Then on top of that, while Tyler was in mom's home she began to show symptoms of having a stroke. He was there when the ambulance came and was forced by the situation to postpone the completion of the Ring doorbell project he was there for. I made an appointment with Mr Sparky to 1.) install a bathroom ceiling fan and 2.) replace a second fan. I was very clear up front and with both confirmation calls on what i was needing done. After being late, the technician said they don’t do installs. After calling the same scheduling lady back to ask what gives she basically said “yeah sounds right blah blah something code” so i asked him to leave. Company is clearly about valuing your time. Would not recommend.

Robert was punctual and careful in his assessment why I lost power in part of my house. He tested all the outlets and found a loose cable in the switch panel that affected a number of outlets and light switches. He did much work in not much time. His demeanor is friendly and professional. Good job.

We needed an outdoor garage light fixed, a microwave circuit breaker checked, and an electric socket replaced. Robert and another repairman came to our house early during the allotted time and made the repairs quickly and efficiently. Robert fixed a broken screw on one outdoor fixture and made adjustments to both outdoor garage lights. When I came home from teaching an evening class, both lights were working well, which made me happy. The other guy, and I forgot his name, confirmed that our problem was the microwave itself and not the fuse. He also replaced the old electrical socket at my wife's request so when we get a new microwave the fixture will be able to handle it. It took about three weeks to get the appointment, but the assurance of a job well done with a guarantee was worth the wait. It's not the cheapest service, but it's the best quality, which may save money in the end.

I had Mr Sparky give me an estimate on some electrical work I need to have done. They were thorough and gave me more information than the other companies gave me as far as what I needed, so at this point I'm not sure what all I need to have done.

We had a great experience! Had a tree removed last year that severed the electric to the light pole in the yard and have been unable to turn the light on without it blowing the GFCI. Had them out and with 20 mins we knew the electric line was severed. Once they got to the house to do the repair they were professional and worked quickly to get it fixed.

So I set the appointment and then waited 3 days which is fine but I explained to what I can only assume was an answering service that set appointments? I told the gal I needed a EV-2 Car Charger installed and I knew it would take a special receptacle (we discussed this and I mentioned should I buy it, but was assured the tech would have the necessary parts and such. I thought I made it very clear what was being installed and in the garage, need to tap into the main panel and again what type of receptacle was needed. Well, the tech comes out and no complaint to him but he just estimated the work...hell he asked me what I thought I wanted to spend and I had already figured on 500 bucks...so I really did not need an estimate of services...I wanted the EV charger installed. Well 50 bucks for the estimate and they will come back out on Monday. Well in the meantime I'll call around as I wanted it done today not tomorrow and not Monday. Keep the 50 and call it a learning experience. The l only reason I called the company was I figured with the big vans they drive they would be ready to go. I'll keep the appointment but now I have an estimate and I'll shop it out to whomever wants to get here today, tomorrow or a Friday and do the work.Again I do not fault the tech, I fault the service that sets appointments and the company itself...it took 5 days to set the appointment, so why not call the consumer and go over what it is. I am in real-estate and if someone wanted to sell there home and gave me 5 days to come over and see it, I would have asked for details about the home, I would have run the comps so that when I do show up at their door, guess what I am prepared and can tell them the value of their home...oh and guess what I do that for free...what a concept.

Had Mr. Sparky come out to look at some dead outlets for me. Got Chuck, told him what happened and let him have free reign. Was super friendly and an amazing help. Will definitely be calling Mr. Sparky out for any future repairs. On time and well priced.

I didn't use Mr. Sparky for my needs so my review is limited. They showed up on time, very professional, great communication during the request for quote process... but, spent 50 dollars (service fee) to learn they are very expensive. They were 50% more than my lowest quote from 3 other service providers. The 3 other service providers ranged from small to medium businesses, where the lowest quote was not from some person that knows some stuff. I understand electrical components have increased recently in the market but the quote was very salty.

I had Mister Sparky come out for a quote on mitigating/replacing aluminum wiring in our house. No complaints about the techs that came out as they did a thorough assessment of all the aluminum wiring and provided a quote for alumiconn repairs. I however also asked for a quote to replace the wiring so it's a permanent fix in which the techs said they'd need to talk to their manager about this as it would obviously be a larger expense. Fast forward to three weeks later and I've called 5 times trying to get the quote and can never get past the customer service reps that answers the call. Again, no fault on their part either I'm sure as they're sending emails and adding notes to my file for the correct people to get in contact with me, but no emails or callbacks yet.

Robert knows his stuff, found the problem, and made/executed a good plan to correct a jerry-rigged situation with wiring in the attic from years ago under previous ownership of the home. He ran wire to the bathroom from the attic and then installed a new light fixture that I had purchased that wasn't working with the old wiring. He was professional, respectful and friendly. We are very happy with his work and I am very happy with my new vanity light in the bathroom!!!

Matt was quick and professional. Only complaint I have is I wish he would have been more upfront on how much it was going to cost. What happened was I had switched out a few light switches and a flouresecent light. I had an issue with the breaker box tripping in the kitchen after I made those changes. I couldn't figure it out so I called Mr. Sparky. It ended up being a very simple issue that Matt had solved in minutes. He diagnosed and fixed the repair and said he'd be right back with an invoice. I understand that calling out an electrician isn't cheap but he ended up coming back with an invoice for $289. I was hoping for around the $100 ballpark at the most, considering all he did was move a ground wire in one of the switches I replaced. It was my fault that I had the wires touching and I take full responsibility for that, I just wish he was more transparent on how much it was going to cost me. He maybe could have just told me what was wrong and I could have fixed it myself no problem for a cheaper price? I remember the lady on the phone said when I scheduled the appointment something about a $49 diagnostic fee minimum? Why didn't I just get charged that instead of the $289 for our standard charge is what he said. I still gave you all 4 stars because of the quality of work and the professionalism of Matt and the speed that he got there, I'm just confused on the price and I wish he would have been more upfront about it.

Communication between the company and us was great. The electrician was running late and the office kept us updated. Brett had a morning appointment to provide an estimate for some repairs/additions I wanted around the house as well as any suggestions he would make to improve the electrical components here. He provided an estimate while still onsite and was able to return to complete the work yet this afternoon under some really cold conditions. He was very patient with assisting me in understanding the type of fixtures he replaced/added as well as being so patient with my inability to work with devices.

Chuck called and told me when he would be here so I could kennel my pups. He was very friendly and listened to what we needed. Found them through Homeadvisor and was very disappointed. I've worked on around 100+ renovations for myself or with my clients. My normal service providers were booked up so I reached out to Mister Sparky. I knew exactly what needed to be done. They came out and quoted $3500 for about $500-$800 worth of work. I asked them how long it would take to complete, and they said we could have this done by the end of the day. It was already 2pm. So.. this means they were going to do 3-4 hours of work and expect to be paid ~$800/hr?? I've since had the work done by a more honest, transparent company.Also, my handyman called me a few days later and told me one of his clients called and told him Mister Sparky did the same thing to her literally the next day. They suggested the panel needed to be completely replaced. That must be their default to rack up a big bill.Don't get fooled!

We were panicked by hearing a loud buzzing sound coming from our crawlspace. I called Chuck directly and he was extremely responsive to our concerns and questions, coming to our home in a short time. We had lost our electricity upstairs due to very old wiring and bare wires touching. My husband called Mr. Sparky and Brett came within 15-20 minutes. We have a service plan and are supposed to save money. I have only good to say about Brett. He worked very hard to get things fixed for us and was very nice and very professional. He explained in detail what he had to do and got our approval before doing it. I liked Brett and his approach very much. I don’t know how much things cost, but our bill was a lot of money. $508.00 with our savings.

Utilized Jerry today, as Eddie is on vacation. Found out some of the information Jerry gave us, was not true and led him to cut two 12in x 4 inch holes in my ceiling, claiming there was no attic access above my hallway. After he left, we walked the attic and found the entire floor to be accessible via the attic. Not sure if it was the heat or simply him being unaware, but now we have to hire a ceiling repair company, when the spot was accessible from above.

Eduardo came and quoted me a price to repair damage from a wind storm. He and Patrick immediately started working and got the work done in about 4 hours, and called IPL. We had lights and heat in about six hours after he came. Great work and I highly recommend Mister Sparky!

Brett was able to replace the wiring and install new switches that had been damaged when they caught on fire. We had thought that it would be a much more major problem than it turned out to be. He did an excellent job and also inspected the breaker box to let us know what was all connected and give advice on which outlets would be better to use.

Eddie the electrician was thoroughly professional, calm and pleasant. He and a helper, Jerry, arrived on time and went right to work. This was Eddie's work for today: Two new Dedicated circuits were installed One for washer 20amp rated 120v and the second was rated 240v 30amp for dryer.All was installed and tested properly..I might have answered the services section above wrong. i know nothing about electricity. Following is why Eddie came to my house today. I am turning a first floor bedroom into a laundry room, which meant increasing power for an electric dryer (not installed yet). Eddie installed a four-plug outlet thing, a breaker, drilled the wall in the laundry room and did some work behind the wall; he also spent some time in the basement with the fuse box (or wiring?). The washer takes 120 amps (volts?) and the electric dryer needs 220 and now my new laundry room is ready for appliance hookup (set for early October).. All Eddie's work was neat and tidy. The wall he drilled looks excellent. The helper had to leave to pick up the right breaker, which Eddie first had to seek out electronically. This was accomplished quickly and efficiently. Eddie gets an A-plus. He is experienced, competent, self-assured, capable and CALM. (Nobody wants a jumpy electrician ... or a jumpy surgeon, dentist, tree-trimmer, tightrope walker, tattoo artist, the list is endless.) I appreciate everyone Mr. Sparky has sent me over the years. Mr. Sparky saved the day! Our original contractor wouldn’t come make a repair for us and took forever to finally let us know that. But, Mr. Sparky came out next day and completed the repair in an hour’s time and had a better way of wiring the job! I posted 2 stars due to price for work completed. Matt was great. Did a great job and efficient. 219 I feel is a little high considering he landed a pre existing wire and added a breaker. I left work early since he was done earlier with his other appointments. He literally did 10 minutes worth of work. Like I said Matt was great. I will price around next time before using Mr. Sparky.

My original call to Mr Sparky's dispatch center led them to send out Ben Franklin plumbers instead. Not sure why other than the call center not understanding my request to bond a gas line to the electrical system. Had to reschedule! That was disappointing & frustrating. Resheduled for a week later - which was still pretty good considering that the 4 other electricians i called were booked out for weeks or were not taking any new jobs. Mr. Sparky called 30mins ahead as promised and they arrived on time!!!! (the 30min call-ahead is a big deal for me). Robert showed up and was down to earth yet very profressional, and gladly went after all the items that we sprung on him when he showed up. He wrote up the report the way we needed him to for our real estate deal, and it was a great experience! Robert was clutch!! Shout out to Mr. Sparky and Robert!!

Called them to ask for a quote to move an existing outlet approximately two feet from its current location in a situation where the walls would eventually be totally gutted and they would have total access. Told me they would have to have someone come out to look at it and there would be a $49 service fee and that there was no way to get a free estimate even though the job should be extremely straightforward. Offered no other solutions to try and provide the quote other than pretty much take it or leave it with the fee. Given my walls would not even be gutted when the technician would be here, the visit would seem to be fairly useless anyways if indeed the point of the visit were to uncover certain specifics that would make the job more complicated. Not sure how I am supposed to compare their prices to another contractor and make an intelligent decision if I am going to be on the hook for $49 at minimum for them regardless. Doesn't seem like a great way to entice customers.

Nice guy and was very helpful. He even helped point me in the right direction and helped set it up when he told me that it was something a plumber had to fix. Even answered any questions I had. Definitely call again.

From my experience, their business model must be to make $49 to come to your house and then never follow up again. The technician came, looked at my job, told me a ballpark of what it would be verbally and said he would follow up with an email proposal. I paid $49 as he left. I waited a week and didn’t hear from them and followed up by phone. The person on the phone said he would pass the message on to get the proposal to me. 2 additional weeks went by and I moved on. I called for a refund and the operator insisted that I must have received a quote because her system was showing it. I asked where it was and she could not answer. I still don’t have a quote but am out $49. That bugs me as I was simply trying to give them some work.UPDATE: I can now confirm, at least in my case, that this company is in it to get your $49 dollars and that is all. Two days after I posted my review I received the quote in the mail which was a full 3 weeks after the technician visited my house. At the bottom of the quote it showed “$49 paid in full” and was highlighted in yellow. It is clear that once I posted this, the company moved to send the proposal. They clearly don’t get it. I moved on after calling them 2x with no response. I just want my $49 back!By the way, the proposal was garbage. Made no sense and was way overpriced.

My front front porch light was not working. It either would not stay on, or would not turn on at all. After having one electrician come out (different company) the light still did not work, so I tried Mr. Sparky. Brett was professional, knowledgeable, and did a great job diagnosing what was wrong and pointed out wiring that had not been properly twisted causing the light not to work. Brett resolved the issue and I am looking forward to scheduling some additional work (bathroom vent and Nest doorbell installation).

In the aftermath of a bad windstorm in the early evening, our outside electric meter and assembly were severely damaged by a fallen tree. As a result, our interior breaker panel was fried. The power company had to come and shut off our electricity until an electrician could repair it. The next day Mr Sparky dispatched one of their technicians, Brett G., who volunteered to tackle the big job solo.Brett (a retired Navy vet) came to our house in the afternoon after gathering all necessary parts and a code permit. (He had already helped customers in the morning.) HE WORKED VIRTUALLY NON-STOP FOR OVER 12 HOURS DETERMINED TO FINISH A VERY CHALLENGING JOB -outside and inside our house - that normally would call for two technicians (or two days).After spending several hours completing the rigorous and in-depth outside work, Brett contacted the power company lineman who came in the night and reconnected us while he labored in our basement installing a new, larger breaker box and components. (Our damaged 1973 breaker panel was a mess).He persevered patiently until 0430 am when all was completed and we had power! Our family was so grateful to have electricity again.Brett's steadfast endurance and outstanding work ethic reflected great credit on himself and upon Mr Sparky Electric. If you need a diligent, ace electrician, he's your go-to guy!

Mister Sparky is the way to go if you need any electrical done! Everyone I have spoken to on the phone and I have had working on my house has been unbelievably nice, understanding and great to work with. From getting someone out quickly to give me a quote, to a quick scheduling to get the work done, to the whole team of multiple electricians working to get my large projects all over the house taken care of in ONE day even staying til almost 8pm to get it all done without adding another day, to their immediate responsiveness in sending someone out at night when I had a problem I couldn’t figure out myself. They are amazing. I will never call anyone else for any electrical work.

Chuck came out to diagnose our sudden electrical problem. He came and found the issue within minutes and told us exactly what to tell IPL, as it was an outdoor problem that the power company had to fix. He even stayed until I got through to them. Great job!

This was a terrible experience. Their services are over priced. I was told that the $49 fee to perform an evaluation would be applied towards the work. When the electrician told me that the $49 would not in fact be applied and quoted me almost $450 to do 2 tasks, I knew this company couldn't be trusted. This feeling was further confirmed when I called their office and while they listened and promised to get back to me, two weeks later, I still have no response from their manager.

Absolutely terrible! I literally spoke with these people 6 times about the appointment. Everyone blamed someone else. Not only did they wast time by scheduling an appointment window and not doing the service, but I'll have to wait longer now to schedule with a different company. If you value your time or need prompt service, you should find another company.

Jerry from Mister Sparky was incredibly thorough and patient in digging into the details of a very complicated renovation of our master bedroom. His attention to detail and flexibility with time was greatly appreciated.

They did an excellent job. The light/fan they replaced has never been on in my lifetime, but it works great! And the fixture in the kitchen as well.

Breaker tripped, and all outlets in living room were out, but I was unsure why, b/c all other outlets were working fine. I couldn't reset the breaker. Mr Sparky tech pointed out how to reset breaker, and safety with using electrical outlets, and how many amps can be used at one time. Mr. Sparky will educate you on do's and don't's when using electricity, and he will point out anything dangerous to help prevent a fire, and may show you photos of outlets, faulty plugs, and what people may do if not educated on how to use electricity correctly that can start a fire. Mr. Sparky is my go-to-company for any electrical problems in my house. I will continue to use them and refer them to friends, family or anyone who needs any electrical servicing. They are the best! The work was very good, each step of the job was explained to me. Loved the end results, only thing I found wrong was a box of metal scrap was left weighting about 15lbs. I don’t feel I should have to throw out.

Brett for mister sparky was nice and identified the issue quick. He Fixed it and was very professional. I will ask for him again. I am on the fence about there parts. He had to replace a rotary dimmer light switch and an on/off switch. For both parts it was $150. I later looked online and could have went and bought them at Lowe's for less that $30 for both. I understand you need to mark up prices some but $120 mark up is ridiculous. So I'm on the fence if I will use the company again.

He was amazing, he pointed out which items were fire hazards. Which items needed to be replaced with both the lighting and electrical. He gave us a quote for all the repairs. As always we are totally satisfied with our technician.

Our electrician, Chuck, was great. On time, friendly, and quick but thorough. I was told the service fee would be applied if service was done, but that was not the case. I’ll take that up with them and I’m sure they’ll make it right.

On time - service completed quickly - cleaned up mess when finished. They always do a great job. This job was a simple smart outlet install.

We had someone come out about a month ago to fix a switch, outlet and ceiling light that weren’t working. Our electrician essentially just disconnected the switch from the circuit. This cost us $280, after he discounted us $90. A month later, we have the same problem. An electrician comes out, finds that it’s a different outlet and replaces the outlet. He spent a total of 20 minutes here this time and we were still charged a $70 service fee. I’m just disappointed that the initial repair was so expensive and we had to have someone come out again and pay them again. I thought they guaranteed their work?

They came out and did a repair and what they repaired is already not working again. Wants to charge me to have the technician come out and analyze to confirm. Charged $300 to fix one outlet and a small fixture.

Work was performed on time for quoted price. They also coordinated their work with the Duke sub-contractor without delays or issues.

Tried to charge us for a new power box $1600 or more for a larger one. Got a second opinion and only needed a ground bar. They didn't even address the issues that I called them out for and wouldn't till that box was fixed. Plus charged us for a service call even though I had a coupon for a free one.

On their first visit, Mr Sparky gave me information that was incorrect and installed something in a location that would have been against code for the intended purpose - which they should have known before doing the job. On the second visit, their technician Matt came out and was very rude. Instead of offering a solution to the problem and working with me for a resolution, his answer remained it's against code (which they had installed knowing the the intended purpose). I had to ask him to leave my house. I've hired another electrician that came out and reviewed what work was done. He also knows my intended purpose and was able to come up with a solution that works and is within code. He is now re-doing Mr. Sparkys work.

When a professional electrician kindly notices and points out residential code violations that were not addressed by a previous used electrician from another company, one knows I made the right call. The quote for the upcoming project to address aluminum wiring issues is very reasonable. We'll sleep better knowing that our 50 year old home is up to code and the chance of fire due to aluminum wire will be mitigated.I enjoyed the visit today and I have a lot of confidence in the quality of the work and the skills of the experienced electrician

I made an Appointment with Mr Sparky for 12/27/19 between the hours of 8am & 12N. Having heard nothing from Mr Sparky by 10:45am on 12/27/19, I called in. Was told that I was scheduled for an appt, but technician couldn’t be reached at that time to provide an update. Was advised to call back later. I called again at 11:20am & was told at that point that I did not have any appointment scheduled on 12/27/19. After some “back and forth” Mr Sparky agreed to come on 12/27/19. Unfortunately the required transformer had to be ordered, necessitating a return visit for installation by Mr Sparky when part arrived in about a week. Guess I appreciate the fact that they came to see my home at all on 12/27/19

The electrician was great. He took care of the issue within minutes. I had to wait almost a week for an appointment. The down side was charging $213 for a $20 part. Not too pleased about that.

After 4pm we rescheduled to the following Wednesday with a specific request to be sure to schedule my appointment for first on the route from 8am - noon. Today was second time when Michael provided service to our house. First time was about a year ago when he replaced all electric panel. Today he installed 2 outlets for new connectionion of water softener & tankless heater. He also today replaced on the electric panel swiches to 120V . What look very complicated and dangerous to me for Michael is easy. He fast fix all problems, provided excellent communication and information what and how it can be fix or replaced.

Mr sparky told me that my whole panel needed to be replaced because the metal was discolored. He could do it for $2,500. When I got a second and third opinion from other electricians they all immediately said Mr. Sparky? Nothing but a scam. Do not use this company! If I could give them -5 stars, I would.

We had someone from Mister Sparky come give us an estimate yesterday for installing a GFCI unit for an above ground pool. His quote was $1234. That seemed outrageous. A few hours later, we had another electrician out and his quote was $250. Saved us nearly $1000. Do NOT use this company. They will try to scam you out of money. Plus, he tried to charge me $50 just for giving me a quote. Ridiculous!

2 weeks of my life were wasted - if you have something urgent that doesn't count as an emergency prepare to get endlessly delayed or worthless.May be good for regular electrical jobs, but if you have something low voltage go elswhere - they will waste weeks of your life.

I was changing the battery on my smoke detector (as admonished for when we change our clocks). When I removed the old battery, the detector bagan to chirp. No matter how I tried to insert the battery, it continued to chirp. I got out my flashlight and tried to find the proper points of attachment and it continued to chirp. It was 10p.m. and I was at the point of tears knowing I couldn't sleep with that chirping. I called Mr. Sparky and Brett came to my rescue. He not only put the battery in the chirping detector, but changed them in the other two detectors. Not only that he changed some light bulbs in my dining room while he was at it. Brett has been to my house before and is always cheerful, but at 10 p.m., that was a blessing.

Came home to wait on the technician. They continued to call my work phone after I left, not once calling my cell. I left work to meet them there, you would think they would call the cell phone too.

Disappointing experience with Mister Sparky. Called because I had a light over the stairwell that needs replaced and mentioned to them that it was high up. When Mister Sparky came out, they looked and immediately said they couldn't replace. Finding that out cost me $49.
