We used Heartland Plumbing after a neighbor recommended them. Angel and Benny were great! They were really quick and very helpful with other questions and plumbing issues. We are very pleased and will request them again for future service.

We have had a furnace that has been on its last breath for quite some time, and I had spoken with Mike Hartlaub several times, and we finally pulled the plug after some safety concerns with the furnace in regards to CO leaks.

The scheduling department contacted us immediately, and got us on the schedule for the week after. 👍

Today's install went very well, notification prior to arrival with the install technicians photo, technicians were well dressed, friendly (even called before arriving wanting to know if I wanted him to get me a coffee) and was more concerned about protecting my house than I was, booties over their boots, laid down rugs to protect the floor. 👍

Technician's arrived at 8:30am and left by 3pm, very nice clean install.

I would highly recommend Hartlaub Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric, they may be a bit more expensive than some, but...You get what you pay for!

Hartlaub has been nothing but amazing every time I use them. The ladies who are dispatchers are super friendly and understanding and the plumbers I have worked with, James and Kyle, are great too. Our bathroom was in the midst of being re-renovated after the previous contractor basically ruined everything he touched. Our current contractor was hoping to at least salvage the bathtub, but that hadn't even been installed correctly and he wasn't entirely comfortable installing a new one (he was doing the floor and other things). As he was pulling it out, I started calling plumbers to see if we could get a new one installed asap; everyone was booking into next week. Then I called Hartlaub - and I'm so glad I did! First they said they could have a guy come out the next morning, first thing - then they called back and asked if we had the new tub yet and if they could have their guy come and do it that day! I was so grateful that our project could stay pretty much on track, despite the expensive snag... SUPER nice guys, prompt, and they did a great job. This time, I feel confident that the job was done correctly - I'm grateful for our primary contractor for being honest enough to admit he didn't feel comfortable doing it and grateful to Hartlaub for their OUTSTANDING service and sympathy to our situation.

Andy came out and diagnosed the situation a day before the original appointment was scheduled! And today I have a new sump pump, with battery backup, a project I should have tackled years ago! And I also have a proper discharge line. These are “to dos” I really ought to have handled before this but I kept putting it off. Now it’s done and completed. My home is safer and I can rest easier!

I had two sinks that needed repair. They fixed one and said the other was fixed. They charged me 600 dollars and left with only one sink repaired! They also told me I needed my hot water tank replaced. They should have completed the job they were hired for before nosing in on possible other jobs for them in the future. No thanks. I’ll be going through another plumber for future jobs.

I liked that they did not charge an hourly rate and instead quoted me a price for the project as a whole.

We needed a vent pipe moved. And it was on short notice. It didn't seem to be any trouble. Other places we called we're booked a week or two out. We said we were on tight schedule with our kitchen remodel. So they said they would squeeze us in. They sent over Isaac. He called us 20 minutes before he was gonna be there. He was right on time. He offered to grab us a coffee or sandwich if we wanted cause it was around lunch time. We declined. But knowing he was going out of his way for us. That makes you feel that much better about the company. He did a great job and we would definitely use Hartlaub again.

I appreciated that Angel was attentive in his listening to me and in his explanations. He kept me updated as he was working in the bathrooms and basement. Angel was most thorough as well as so neat! I will be glad to call Hartlaub for other jobs! Thank you!

Angel came and did a plumbing inspection and he was so polite, on time and explained everything to us.

Hartlaub reached out to me to make this right. I appreciate the effort to win me back as a customer. They did replace the window and covered a portion of my outstanding bill which I do appreciate. Ultimately, I chose to go with a competitor but I have to give them credit for reaching out to me several times to make it right.

My nightmare plumbing problem only got worse using Hartlaub. My family and I have been dealing with sewage backups in our basement for months so I turned to Hartlaub to finally help alleviate our issues. I called to get an opinion on a main sewer line that I had another plumber inspect with camera, but they wanted to do it again. Andy, the tech, appeared super nice and honest about my problem and recommended a hydrojetting thinking it would clear the debris. All is fine until he calls me afterwards and I could tell in his voice he wasn't confident my problem was fixed. The next day I go downstairs to see another pool of sewage on the floor. I'm not sure how but the problem appears to be worse than before. I call Hartlaub and talk to Andy again who suggested some type of de-scaling. Again, another short term or no fix in my future. I finally say I need this problem to go away so he quotes me for a partial sewer drain replacement. I go outside the next day and notice one of my exterior basement windows has a huge crack in it. I know it was them because my baby sitter mentioned how much trouble they had opening the window. So not only did my problem not get alleviated, the techs didn't bother telling me they cracked the window. I don't know if they thought I wouldn't notice? I call Hartlaub and they dispatched someone to take the window out same day. Andy calls me and apologizes and admits he knew it happened but it wasn't him. How can I trust these guys to advise me to do the right thing and trust their expertise if they tried to hide this from me? Also, the quote to replace a part of the drain was outrageous (almost $10,000).
So not only have I spent nearly $600 on a repair that hasn't fixed the issue at all, they sent me the invoice for the remaining $600. The window was finally replaced yesterday, nearly a week after I told them about it. I got a quote from a very reputable competitor nearly $3,000 less to replace the whole drain, not just a part of it. I would not recommend Hartlaub after this debacle.

Our Technician Jack called before he drove out, He performed his safety inspection and found a problem with a leaking pressure relief vale. He quoted a price to replace it and did. I now have the confidence that my water heater is within proper operating boundaries and should not surprise me with unexpected failure in the near future.

This company is bad in the worst way. I don't just mean bad as in typically bad. I mean borderline illegal scam level. Their responses to the one star reviews resembles gaslighting.

When I called to complain I was told that they are the type of company who has integrity and that they can bring their dogs to work. Something that is completely beyond the point. Chuckled when I saw their company photos involve pictures of dogs and some underprivileged kids while they engage in unethical practices. I'm sure the response here will mention integrity.

Dig through the reviews here and it's either one star or five star reviews. Whenever you see this type of situation it's suspect. Look more closely at the five star reviews. Most of them written from first time reviewers. Also please take the time to read the one star reviews.

I will be making a consumer complaint and I urge anyone who have experienced issues to do the same. Also if this was a home Depot reference please take the time to contact them. Eagerly await their strange gaslighting response

My slow draining kitchen drains were becoming a nuisance so I called Hartlaub to schedule service call. Angel came out and diagnosed the problem right away. Snaking the pipes was not going to work, since the run was so over 50' to the main drain stack. Somewhat typical in a '70's ranch home. He gave me some options and I decided for him to return to cut the pipe near the elbow to the stack and install a secondary clean-cut connection. Angel and Beni returned as planned and did an excellent job executing the quoted work. I was shocked at the amount of sediment in the pipe once he cut it, and I have the picture to prove it. Angel really knows the plumbing business! Everything from proper pipe pitch and anchor hanger positions to the exact location of the blockage. Everything works great now. So glad I called Hartlaub!! Thank you Angel & Beni for the excellent service!

Called Hartlaub to remove a drum trap from a bathtub drain line. Area was in a tight space. Nick and Ben did a fantastic job! My first time using Hartlaub. Very professional company. They text a picture of the workers coming to the house. They came at the time stated and did great work. Very satisfied!

Had Hartlaub install a new faucet, garbage disposal and air gap in a new sink. First want to say the work was done perfect and the plumber who came was very personable and professional. No issues at all with the work, looks great. The 3 stars are for the scheduling issues and cost. As far as scheduling we had initially planned on a Monday afternoon install, I took off in the afternoon and shortly before our time window received a call they had an emergency and could we wait until Wednesday (10-12). Then was called Tuesday to confirm Wednesday 8-12. Took off Wednesday morning and waited until 12:15 before calling to find out where the plumber was just to be informed it was supposed to be 12-3. Because of the screw up they did reroute someone at 1:00. Not the end of the world but not a great start. My biggest complaint is their policy of not giving any idea of the price until the plumber is there and you already committed to $99 service fee. I was a little shocked at the price for what seemed to be a simple job. 3 hours at $250 an hour, I’m in the wrong career :). Anyway we needed it done and price shopping would have been difficult, if all plumbers work this way so I agreed and the work was done. While I think they do great work, will try and price shop before we try them again for our bathroom projects.

Allen did a great job, came out for a consult and installed new faucet all on the same day! We've never been able to use the sink since we owned the house for over a year, so my only regret is not calling Hartlaub sooner for this service!

The plumber sent was friendly and seemed to know what he was doing. The old plumbing was incapatible with a new dishwasher and hopefully his updated plumbing work will have corrected that problem when the new appliance is delivered.

Angel and Nick were thoroughly professional. They were on time (early, actually!) and were easy to communicate with. The repair was for more $$$ than I had budgeted, but Angel explained exactly what the costs were and WHY they had to be done, and it all made sense. The repairs were then done in a timely manner. Good work!

I recently had a leak in my copper pipe behind a wall and Jim from Hartlaub was sent out for an estimate and his professional advice.
I will say that I have never used or even heard of Hartlaub before then, but they were recommended by another contractor friend of mine and he told me they are a small family business that does a great job. Jim was punctual, professional, kind, and finished the job quicker than expected. In addition, I asked Jim about a leaky cartridge on another faucet, he had a new one on his truck which was the exact match I needed so he took care of another issue which I would have had down the road. Jim left all of the areas he worked in very clean and I did not have to go back and clean up after he was done. I will use and recommend Hartlaub again. Jim

I’m not going to go into specific details but I used this company against my mothers referral based on making my own opinions. Well, in this case I should have listened to my mother.

I had a large project done. All of the techs were nice, professional and informative. I had an issue with something leaking after my install and the company refused to fix what was damaged during the project.

Unless some miracle happens and they decide to take responsibility for possibly damaging something I CANNOT say they uphold their values in their business model.

I STRONGLY I DO NOT RECOMMEND based on my several appointments I’ve had. ESPECIALLY at the cost.j

Hartlaub provided us with the most professional and complete service we’ve had in the process of renovating our home. Andy Gomez assessed our needs, addressed our immediate plumbing needs, and expertly coordinated completion of the additional work needed to bring our kitchen plumbing to code, and to install our new dishwasher. We signed up for a service agreement on the spot, I look forward to working with Andy in the future, and have recommended Hartlaub to multiple friends.

My complaint is in the pricing. We bought into their 3 year service plan for heating, cooling, and plumbing, costing us $500. Twice, upon the semi annual inspection of our furnace, we were told some minor part needed replacement at $200 a pop even though everything was working fine. Then, late this October, a pipe sprung a pinhole leak. We were just getting ready to leave on a trip. My husband wanted to fix it but with time constraints we called them. Even with our service contract, the tech couldn’t come until the next day. When he arrived, he shut off the water, removed two laundry hoses, valves, and nipples and plugged the pipes, then turned the water back on. This cost us $450 for 30 minutes of work! Price gouging you think?

We've called upon Hartlaub to help us now on two different occasions. The first time they installed a new hood and fan over our oven. Their representative took time to meet with us beforehand, review our needs and help highlight features to look for when purchasing a new hood. With their advice we purchased a hood and had it successfully installed in no time. Incredibly, their estimate was significantly lower than any other contractors bid. The installer was very pleasant and easy to work with and happily answered all our questions.

Today, our needs required a plumber. Jeff was sent out and he too made a very positive impression. First we asked that he install a new kitchen faucet which he did in the shortest amount of time possible. Then, he fixed a toilet problem in an even shorter period of time! Next, he analyzed a slow running tub and leaky drain. Old pipes and drains were removed and replaced very quickly. Jeff, learning of my husbands passing only days before was exceptionally considerate and demonstrated a wonderful kindness to both me and my son.

While he was here working, I was flabbergasted to receive a floral tribute of sympathy from the folks at Hartlaub. What an outstanding organization. I wasn't at all surprised to learn how much Jeff enjoys working with the Hartlaub folks and has remained with them for 18 years. We needed a number of items addressed due to the sale of our home. I called Hartlaub on Wednesday and they were at our house the following day and were able to complete all work in a timely fashion. Jake was our plumber and he was kind, respectful, and explained all his work as he went making sure we fully understood what was being done. Great services and will definitely use again in the future.

Great experience! The guys were on time, professional, and very efficient. I had a well closed, sump pump line moved, and an outdoor water spigot repaired in just under two days. Jeff showed up just before noon and he had a new pressure tank installed before 5pm. Polite, respectful and he cleaned up behind himself. Cost was a little less than I thought it would be.

Extremely pricey for furnace repairs. I paid over $300 for a repair and the furnace was still not working! To actually fix the furnace they quoted over $1,300 to replace the board. Turns out the technician quoted the wrong board, but for $140 am hour you would think they would be better trained. Watch some YouTube videos and you can do most of the repairs for yourself much, much cheaper. I replaced the board for less than $300

Came out the same day I called, were able to fit me into their busy schedule and solve my leaking toilet.

They were efficient, friendly and got the job done.

My pipe under the kitchen sink started leaking badly Saturday night. I called Monday morning and they were able to fit me in on Tuesday. Jeff was awesome. Very professional, kind, and he explained everything in detail. I also appreciated that he checked the remaining pipes under the sink to ensure there would be no further issues. I just want to say from the moment I called them at 4:55pm they didn't say call back in the morning, first plus sign. I spoke with a very pleasant young woman told her my furnace finally bit the dirt and I had no heat, she had me talk with TJ who took some information and about an hour later he was at my home checking things out. we discussed my options . I wanted to finance the new furnace so he called them and about 5 minutes later I was approved Second plus He called their dealer to see if they had the furnace I was going to need they had one so had them hold it and next day had my new furnace 3rd plus. Want to give a big thank you to Pat and the other young man (sorry forgot his name) who came put the unit in . They cleaned up an mess that was made. I had my sewer pipes in my home completely needing to be replaced and we called Hartlaub. It was a big undertaking, concrete floors in the lower level needed to be opened and the pipes dug out and replace. They did a good job and worked hard to minimize the disruption. Over all I am very happy with the work they performed and give credit to the 3 workers who were on the job each day, Jeff, Jack, and Omar. All of them worked hard to get our home back together. Andy Gomez was so efficient not to mention very pleasant. He told me what he was doing & replacing with detailed instructions on checking out my new pump.
I would have signed on to the service contract if it wasn't that I was already locked into another agreement.

I started getting my pluming issues fixed about a year ago. Jack Hanley has done all the work for me. I always ask for him when I need work done. He is very friendly,and does great work.

We called for after hours emergency service on a Friday evening because our sewer drain was clogged and backing up into our basement. Hartlaub called us back within minutes and we had a plumber arrive within the hour. They were professional and provided updates on the status of the service. We liked the text message informing us when our tech Angel was on his way to our house. Angel did a great job explaining everything. We really appreciate the high level of customer service.

We had an emergency on Sunday and Jack came out to us. It was $199 for them to just come out and and additional $289 for the ‘snaking’ that we needed. Jack was polite and got the job done in a timely matter. He even called before hand to see if I wanted a coffee or anything! He went above and beyond and provided excellent service.

We had a plumbing emergency at 2am on a Sunday during the week between Christmas and New Year's. I called 10 places with 24/7 emergency lines for immediate assistance. Most didn't return my call, some were rude, unwilling or unable to come quickly, or had unfair emergency service prices. I spoke to the Hartlaub emergency line and Jeff called me shortly thereafter and was ready to warm up his truck and head right over. He was friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with great service in the quick time frame we needed. The price was extremely fair and was clear upfront. Next time we have a plumbing emergency, we will just call Hartlaub right away.

First let me say, Jack presents an Outstanding image in the field for your company. I needed some educating, which he was more than willing to provide. He checked everything out, arrived at reasonable remedy. Them he made the corrections. He had done work with Jeff for me before. Both are very good at what they do. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Debbie. Two thumbs up for her, she is the best on the phones.

Needed a new sump pump with a battery back up system. Came out to give us an cost estimate. Answered questions about that project, as well as a few others regarding other plumbing issues. Were able to set up appointment to complete job, in just a few days. Would have liked more information on the equipment that was going to be installed. Did get that info, upon asking for it. Very patient with all our questions. Very respectful of our house, wearing bootie they brought to wear over shoes. Cleaned up everything afterward. Everyone we talked to, including office personnel, did everything they could to make sure we were satisfied customers. Would hire them, again.

FIVE PLUMBERS in my basement. Nicest most courteous ever!They introduced themselves becauseit's nice to know who is in your house.
They put in new sewer pipes, covering the basement steps at the very beginning of the project. So efficient, quick, friendly. One man told me he was leaving to buy a piece of wood to put under the base of my commode. Stated to be careful who you call. Some would have said the wood was soft & refused to reset the commode, but we don't leave our customers in a lurch like that. What concern for their customers!
Hartlaub did not charge for extra materials to reroute piping to kitchen drain. That they actually went to the store & bought a piece of wood and replaced the soft wood under the commode still amazes me. It is rock solid and level. No extra charge! Head guy told me that when all 5 men got together for the project, they wondered why all such experienced people on one project. The owner had originally planned the job to take 2 days. When I explained my limitations, he put 5 people on the job to complete it in one day so I could have use of the things I needed, especially the commode. One of the men told me that when they saw all they had to do in 8 hrs, they understood why they were all on the same project. They completed it all in less than 7 hours. One man is a master plumber & all were top notch experienced upper level technicians working together. Thank you to my Lord for His provision.... and thanks to Hartlaub that truly has a heart!

I had an awesome experience with Haurtlaub Plumbing , I called them because my entire sump pump system needed renewal , actually I called several companies , but Hartlaub was the soonest to answer my call , they sent me an awesome service expert his name is Jack Hanley , it was a Thursday and it was my first day off work after working 11 days back to back and I had a jam packed schedule that day I needed to do a lot of things , Jack called me on the phone he said he was ahead of his schedule and wanted to see if he can come in early and I definitely said yes , he showed up after 15 minutes from the call , very polite guy , very decent , very patient , he answered all of my questions so patiently and explained in full details what he was gonna be doing and gave me options to pick from and gave me sincere advices about which route to go and saved me a bunch of money , got all the work done down the basement and outside the residence on time , he promised 3 hours of work and three hours was what the entire job took to be done , very clean guy cleaned the place very well after he got the job done , very into business , a very nice comforting smile on his face the entire time he’s talking and explaining things

Can’t say enough. Very professional, knowledgeable and qualified folks not only that come to your house but who you talk to on the phone. Even their communication system is top 10. You might be paying a bit more, but you are certainly getting what you pay for and more. If you don’t care about quality and just want the cheapest price, or you are just the reactive type and not proactive in sharing to make sure things are covered before they break based on good professional guidance like Hartlaub provides, you most likely will look and go elsewhere.

Hartlaub responded to my phone call within a half hour. Cesar was very polite and wore a mask. He cleaned out the clog in my kitchen sink. He also removed some icky stuff from the pipes and hoses. Fantastic customer service and tankless water heater installation! VERY straight forward, punctual and extremely professional. They didn't just patch things together, they ran whole new gas and water lines to avoid contamination from our old pipes to avoid future corrosion. Worked same day of estimate! Had a new water heater by the next morning. Their service is expensive but they have financing available. You're paying for a team, not just one guy.

Called Friday late afternoon had a plumber at my home within an hour. James did a great job with our clogged sink. Very informed and did a great job cleaning up. Saved our weekend plans.

When I recently needed a plumber, Hartlaub Plumbing sent Andy and Angel to attend to my repairs. They were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and efficient in assessing my needs and achieving a pleasing end result. I chose Hartlaub Plumbing because they are near my home and have excellent reviews. They have outstanding employees in Andy and Angel and I would definitely recommend them. Thank you for the wonderful service that sometimes is so hard to find.

I had a great experience - the technician, Andy, was very thorough in explaining the options available to me. He presented me with different scenarios, and the pro's and cons of each. I was impressed, and would use them again.

I disappointed to leave this review as we have had good service prior to the change to Mr. Holland's. I was told when I called that they could send one person to quote two jobs we needed. The first guy took 2 hours and provided no quote. They sent another person who indicated the notes from previous tech were not clear. They quoted part of the job and said the rest would be in the next day. I waited two business days before following up and was told they had to ask management about my job. I had three techs to my home and lost three weeks to only be called and told they don't want to do the job. This will likely be the end of our membership and time with this company.

Simply great service.. Angel knew what he was doing and fixed the downspout issue very quickly. Explained what he found and recommended the next step to resolve the actual problem which was tree branches. Would and will have him back to remove tree branches. I highly recommend him. Pricing was good and fair.

I called Hartlaub around 8 a.m. and by 10 a.m. Jeff R. was out to look at my newly deceased hot water heater. He was incredibly thorough in explaining what likely happened, what our options were for replacement, and improvements that could be made to the setup to prevent issues like this in the future. It was not long after this time that I found myself with a new and improved, fully functional setup. I started off the day with no knowledge and a busted hot water heater and ended the morning with a brand-new hot water heater and enough knowledge to keep it going well into the future.

I also mentioned we were having another company come and perform annual maintenance on our furnace the next day (planned weeks in advance) and instead he had Adam L. from Hartlaub out there within an hour to perform the service the same day as part of a maintenance agreement that basically paid for itself with discounts on today's service. Adam spent a great deal of time checking over everything and answering all of my questions fully before giving us all the all-clear.

We had Jack Hanley install our water heater last week, and he did a fantastic, professional job ~ we would highly recommend him for his skills and his personable manner. He made sure everything was perfectly installed, which was not easy since the day of our installation the weather temp was nearly 25 degrees below zero. He kept all walkways covered to prevent messy cleanup of our floor surfaces, and was a wonderful representative of the Hartlaub Plumbing firm!

Hartlub was amazing. We called them with an emergency after hours and they arrived within ten minutes of notification. Issac was very knowledgeable, calming, and compassionate in our time of distress with the flooding. He turned the circuit breakers off where the smoke was coming from and checked all floors of the home for water damage. I thought the salesman that came out did a very good job and it was very knowledgeable of the products that he was selling. We still have not decided on which furnace to get. But his quote came in within reason. Have not decided on which brand of furnace to get. It it will be a rheem, or a Goodman.

We went with a Goodman it was put in starting on May 22, 2018 took them 4 days and the in can out GREAT! The installers worked all day with only and only a 1/2 hour for lunch each day. If I could give zero stars I would. Way over priced. Tecs seem to have quotas to up sell. When they came out first time to fix the sump pump they broke a pipe that was outside the home. As a result when the water came up in went right back down the side of the house. I did not notice it till he had left a couple of hours later. I went outside and I seen that the pipe outside the house was not attached to the pipe coming from the basement. I called Hartlaub and they said it was not there fault and they changed me to fix it. I also have nothing but problems with my sump pump the switch stops working 3 times now. The pump they sold me did not have enough horsepower to keep up with a heavy rain storm and I had a flood in my basement. Do not use Hartlaub.

Our heating and cooling systems have been most professionally maintained by Hartlaub Plumbing for over 20 years. We travel often and they maintain a 24/7 watch over our sump pump system in case the pump stops for whatever reason. They have also done major bathroom remodeling for us to update our bathrooms. Their technicians are all well trained and know what they are doing. Very very happy with their service all these years.

Origionally from the city and not knowing much about wells, septic systems, water softeners and sump pumps; Jack took the time to answer all my questions while explaining how everything works. Definitely a professional making it a comfortable experience for me!!

We hired them to replace the shut off valve for our outdoor water spigot two years ago. When we turned on the valve this spring it had a massive leak from where the pipes were soldered. When we called them to repair the leaky pipe they wanted to charge us a minimum of $175 for a service fee. We feel that they should have repaired the leaky soldering for no charge because a soldered pipe should last much longer than two years before it leaks! Because of the poor quality of the work and the fact that they do not stand behind their work we will never hire this company again!

Jenny taking my call was very nice and professional. The technician Andy Gomez was also very nice, professional, and answered my questions. More importantly, Andy took the time to investigate, diagnose and fix the issue where I thought for sure that he would need to rip into my wall to fix it instead it was something much easier.

Overall the labor was a little pricey (would’ve put 4.5 stars but rounded up) but it’s still better than paying $1500 + because insurance company sucks.

They then determined we were outside of their service area and never notified us, leaving the issue for another full 24 hours before we finally received notice. Although we thought the price was high, turned out to be worth it for the service we received. Water heater needed replacing less than a week before Thanksgiving. Hartlaub was able to come out on Monday. Our plumber, Andy G. discovered a dent in the new heater from Ace Hardware that we had supplied. I needed to replace the water heater in my condo, and the crew @ Hartlaub did a terrific job. The project involved replacing a short 50 gallon heater hung in a tight closet over my stacked washer/dryer - something many contractors wouldn't want to touch. Customer service is unmatched. We recently had our laundry sink backing up and they were able to come quickly and resolve the issue. We were so worried that it was going to be crazy expensive, but it was reasonable and most importantly done quick and well (on a Saturday!) Andy called before the appointment, inquired about parking, and even offered to bring coffee (I'm not used to the five-star treatment). He was friendly and detailed throughout the appointment. We had Jennifer from Hartlaub come out to give us an estimate on remodeling our basement. While we did not end up choosing Hartlaub to complete the project due to having some neighbors highly recommend someone else, I wanted to write this review based on the estimation process. When reading reviews for Hartlaub, I was unable to find ones for their remodeling side of their business - most were plumbing reviews. So, I am hoping this helps someone looking to have them come out to remodel. We were very impressed with the estimation process - Jennifer came out to take measurements of the basement and talk about a general design. She then came back a couple of weeks later with her design - this included a CAD drawing of our basement and a very organized and details proposal. She sat down with us and walked us through each of the sections of the proposal and answers our questions thoroughly. Based on this experience, we were very tempted to complete the project with Hartlaub, but ultimately went with someone who our neighbors had used and recommended. So, recognizing the power of reviews and recommendations, I hope this review helps people looking for someone to bid on a remodeling project in their home. While I can't speak to the finished product, the estimation/project proposal process was impressive.

We signed up for Hartlaub's annual service (as recommended by our inspector) and the pricing was excellent compared to a variety of other companies. Hartlaub makes 2 visits per year, one in fall and one in spring to check everything out, make any recommendations, and then the company makes a follow up call from each visit to determine if you want to move forward with any of the suggested services. We've only had the fall visit (furnace and plumbing, spring is A/C and electrical) but they were very thorough and I am happy with their work. We were debating having a water softener installed and they assisted with testing our hardness/water quality for no extra charge. Their customer service and professionalism are great. Their techs are always very knowledgeable, patient and answer any questions we have. They also each give you a personal card which I think is a nice touch. I also really like their website, easy to navigate. Highly recommend!

They replaced my central air unit today. They did good work despite the rain.🌧The duo worked well together. They were very knowledgeable even when telling me about my new what I thought was energy efficient furnace. Letting me know it wasn't energy efficient unlike the other company that put it in told me it was. Hartlaub also put in my water Heater in 2017 after home depot's contracted crew said that they couldn't do the job once they got to my house to install the new water heater. hartlaub's guy had no problem and didn't say he couldn't do the job. I asked if he needed to come back once he came and assessed the situation. He said no that he will do it right now👏👏.he was highly skilled in his craft. We've used Hartlaub several times for work at our home. The work done by their service people has always exceeded our expectations. The plumbers (we've also used them for electrical work, so this comment covers that as well) always call ahead, text a photo of the technician and arrive on time with all the tools and parts needed for the work. Andy was so friendly. I had received quotes in advance with different service options so I knew what was coming. I had a battery backup sump pump installed with WiFi alert add-on. They were flexible, kind, and completely up front.

We noticed that there was water dripping into the basement, and quickly traced it back to the kitchen sink. Hartlaub came out the very next day to fix it. Andy and Jack were extremely professional and quickly determined the cause. Since they carry everything in their truck, they were able to replace our ten/fifteen year old faucet with a brand-new one right away. While Jack installed the new faucet, Andy also checked and fixed our shower handle (which had become sticky and difficult to turn). The entire process (diagnosing the issue, choosing a new faucet, installing it, and checking a few other plumbing complaints) took just over ninety minutes. I was very pleased with how efficient, professional, and skilled Andy and Jack were.

Let me tell you something, it’s very rare that I leave good reviews, but this company definitely deserves it! They are honest, reasonable, knowledgeable, and professional. I called them to repair a tankless water heater I’m having issues with. Unfortunately they were unable to repair it at this time because the unit isn’t showing any error codes; but that doesn’t stop them from still trying until they figure it out. Andy was the technician they sent out, he is AMAZING! Thank you Hartlaub for restoring my faith in plumbing companies. I always wait a few weeks after having major work done to see how a company responds during the inevitable follow-up period. I'm happy to report that Hartlaub did great and was responsive for a couple things that came up in the next week or so and I have had a fantastic experience with them from start to finish. A few weeks ago I had Angel out to check out what I was hoping was a minor issue but deep down suspected much more was going on with the plumbing system in the house we bought last year. As suspected the job ended up being a bit of a emergency and Hartlaub was able to rearrange their schedules so they could do the work that week which I really appreciated. Everyone was personable and friendly and able to explain things to me in an easy to understand way and they kept me updated throughout. Over the week I had Angel, Jeff, Jack, Benny and Al and everyone was universally great.

Their billing process was a little confusing when I first called but I came to appreciate it because once they quote you something the price doesn't ever change no matter what comes up. Yes, they probably are higher priced than some other operations but plumbing is expensive because it's a hard job. They do seem to schedule based on the criticality of your job which I certainly benefited from but on the other hand it took nearly 2 weeks for them to come back to fix a running toilet which seemed long since I was supposed to be getting priority scheduling. In the end though I understoodd. A running toilet is not a crisis and since it was ultimately considered warranty work on the initial job they didn't charge me which I appreciated.

I also had Michael out from their HVAC group to check over our furnace and he was friendly and pleasant as well. We will continue to use Hartlaub for services going forward.

Hartlaub services lived up to their name and business motto on my project. Jack was a very trustworthy, friendly, knowledgeable individual who takes pride in his work. We are so thankful to have found a company with employees that we can trust to do a good job, and respect our home & pets, when we can not be home to watch over during the project. Jack was on top of all communications at the drop of a hat during the project. he would take any time needed to answer our questions even at less convenient times. Jack went above and beyond by talking with our family members in the trade and assuring them that the job will be done correctly. Our tankless water heater works VERY well and all of our plumbing looks professional and top notch! Very messy job but the crew was always careful to clean up after themselves to not track it all around our house. Hartlaub did a great job in replacing our sewage pump.

Jack came out after hours and stayed for hours! He came to install a new water heater for us after ours broke the night before. Right before he came our sewer drain began to back up into our basement. He was able to clean out 3 clogs from our drain on top of what he originally came from. He was honest, professional, clean, friendly and trustworthy. We will definitely be using Hartlaub and Jack again!

I learned of Hartlaub through the ProReferral program at Home Depot. I prefer to support companies that have been reviewed by Home Depot, as I know they are very thorough in the qualifying process. As soon as my request was entered, I received a call from their office. We set up an appt., which had to be changed by Hartlaub, due to unforseen circumstances, but Ann Marie was very professional in explaining the situation and working with me to schedule another date. My next appt. was scheduled and I received a call from tech Jeff, advising me that he was on the way. I appreciated the heads-up! When Jeff arrived, he put shoe covers on (thoughtful) and inspected the job, which was installing a new bathroom sink fixture and a new shower fixture kit. He informed me that the P-trap for the tub, was not up to code and explained what type of problems it could create. As I had experienced problems with drainage, it made sense to have it updated as well. The tech was unable to start the job that day due to the time needed for the work, but still checked with the office and another tech to see if it was possible. We planned another day, where they could get started early and attack the job with two techs versus one. On the day of the install, three techs arrived! Eric, Angel and Issac. All wore shoe covers as they went in an out for tools, etc. They arrived at 9 a.m. and I had errands to run, but felt comfortable leaving them in the house while I was gone. I came back in the afternoon and they were wrapping up. The areas were being cleaned of any debris and even wiped down (the tub) with a cleaner. Eric went over the work that they had performed and showed me that everything was functioning. To confirm that there was no residue, or air in the system, he checked the kitchen sink faucet, which he tightened and cleared of mineral particles (thank you)! I was satisfied with the work and with the consistent communication provided by the office. Ann Marie did a great job of explaining their service program for HVAC tune-ups, service etc. I appreciate everyone's professionalism regarding the service I needed. I work with pro's everyday and will make sure to mention Hartlaub to my associates and customers. Thank you for a pleasurable experience!

We’ve had work done by Hartlaub a few times. The service is well done but the customer service not so much. Trying to call into the office and ask question you will be constantly interrupted and made to feel stupid. I think we’ll go elsewhere for future service.
Update - we recently had them maintain our furnace and a/c as a part of a maintenance package we had previously purchased. Somehow one of the propellers on our air conditioner is bent. The tech also never even came back into our house after we signed to have him treat the drain pan. He said he needed to run out to his truck and never came back in the house.

Andy was helpful and professional in assessing what was going on with our water pressure. He was willing to test different equipment and make calls to gather details on our equipment that I did not know. I appreciated the effort for determining the cause to our water issues.

During the holiday season discovered significant issues with basement drainpipes requiring significant rework. Hartlaub was quickest to respond and Jeff R was even quicker to schedule a visit. Chose to work with Jeff R based on comfort level and price. Great decision. Jeff R established a plan in short order and executed through completion. Great communication from Jeff R and the entire Hartlaub team throughout the project as well. Everything was explained along the way and some additional no pressure upgrade recommendations were suggested with pricing provided and we moved forward with those suggestions. We joined their Total Care Club before the work was even completed and look forward to having them provide their other services moving forward.

We had a water heater issue on a Sunday afternoon. Called and the person who picked up was knowledgeable and able to provide a rough estimate on the spot. I agreed and they were there within the hour. Solved the issue promptly, and were very friendly. Highly recommended! Will call again for any plumbing or heating and cooling issues.

Water heater went down in winter another contractor couldn’t fix it they came in 15 minutes. He was super down to earth highly recommend.

I recently used Hartlaub for both HVAC and Plumbing. I had two technicians (Wayne - HVAC and Issac - plumbing) come at the same time. Both technicians represent Hautlaub very well. They both are very professional and extremely knowledgeable about their profession. They each took the time to explain what they found, what they were going to do for any fixes and then either resolved the issue or provided a detailed estimate of the recommended fix. What I appreciated the most was they were very personable and honest. Instead of saying, 'you need to fix this now' they explained findings of potential issues just to make sure I was aware of them. They also left each area they worked in just as they found it, no mess left behind.

A bit pricey but very professional and great customer service. Worth the money!

I handle affairs for relatives that are cognitively delayed. I live in a very small community that is hours away so Milwaukee has been culture shock for me. I soon realized how fast someone will take advantage of a situation like this. After getting burned a few times, I read up on reviews and chose Hartlaub. I cannot say enough good things about them. Their workers have always been professional, patient, and understanding of the situation and the client's disability. They fix things correctly and point out issues that were done wrong by the previous maintenance workers. They make suggestions to the boys and myself on how to prevent future problems. Everything is done via phone or online, including payment. They send before and after pictures and now even send a picture of who is arriving to do the maintenance, which would be nice if I actually lived there, lol. I feel they get to the job in a reasonable time and once had an emergency, where they came the same day. We do most of our own maintenance at home, so I cannot make a judgement on cost but will say I have not had to pay to have anything redone and have never been disappointed or have had concerns about their work. For me, it all comes down to trust in their work and their employees and we have that with Hartlaub.

Recently, I had Isaac Klahn, a plumbing expert from Hartlaub, fix four different plumbing issues at my house. He was professional from start to finish. Isaac told me that first, he would assess the problems and then would give me a written plan which included both “the very best option” and “the great decision”. Each option included the price. I chose the “the very best option” and he immediately went to work. When he was all finished, he showed me his work, and explained how everything would work now. Each area was cleaned up, and the price quoted was what I was charged. The entire experience was positive and I highly recommend Hartlaub Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric.

When our hot water heater suddenly went out we called Hartlaub and they were available to come out the very next morning. I am a first time customer, I had a sewage back up in my basement every time I flushed the toilet. My wife is pregnant and needs to use the bathroom when need be. I was in a panic and needed this fixed asap. I got a call from Issac and he asked if he could make my terrible day go better by getting me a coffee, soda or even stop at the grocery store for me on his way to my house. I thought that was extremely thoughtful of him and I knew right away he was definitely going to do his best and make sure the problem would be solved before he left. Issac went above and beyond and was very knowledgeable. He used an auger to clear the roots from my drain as well as a camera too look down the pipes and see if there were any other issues, then he put roto x down my main pipe to prevent this from happening again anytime soon. He didnt force any extra sales on me like some companies will. He suggested certain things that I needed and things I didnt need he told me the issue wasn't big enough to go that far He wasn't out to scam me, he was there for THE CUSTOMER. I have used other companies in the past but after tonight's experience i will now only be using Hartlaub.

I had a maintenance plan with Hartlaub. They did good work and were attentive when I called. They were also kind when I asked to end my maintenance plan early because I got a new furnace and an A/C with another company. They get three stars because while the product and service is great, Hartlaub is extremely expensive. As a result, I ended up having another company install my furnace and A/C.

Don't waste your time calling them.
Go with Milwaukee plumbing & piping!

Here's what happened. Needed a new water heater at the home. 40Gal Gas.

Your pricing is out of control for services. Water Heater $2,000 or supply your own for $1,250.00 to install. Your competitors are at $490 to install your own water heater & $1,300.00 with a new water heater from them.

I will share on New Berlin, Wi. website and other sites on how you're ripping off your customer base.

I had to replace the utility basin in the laundry area and was told by two companies it would take 7-10 days to get here. I phoned Hartlaub and when they heard I couldn't do any laundry a plumber was over the next afternoon. Andy examined the problem and advised that my 90 year old pipes should be replaced when the new utility sink was installed. The estimate was reasonable and four hours later Andy had completely modernized my set-up. The work was sturdy. looked good, and gave me more room to work. I can sincerely recommend Hartlaub for its quality of work and consideration.

I had used this company when I first bought my house 3 years to clean out my cast iron pipes that backed up into my bathroom. They were fantastic, efficient and thorough. 3 years later the other side of my house backed up due to the pipe underneath my house that completely broke and disintegrated. Again, they came to my rescue and were able to open my basement floors up replace the underground pipes, replace the exposed pipes and made them up to code within 4-5 days. Angel was the main contractor in charge of the whole process and I couldn't thank him enough for how courteous he was, efficient, explained exactly what needed to be done to make it correct once and for all. He didn't hide anything. It was a little shock, but he was so honest about what I needed to have done. I can't thank him enough for how thorough he was in caring for my plumbing issues.

Despite it being a stressful time for me, the Hartlaub staff did an excellent job at making it a very smooth process. My furnace went out on a Friday afternoon and they were over Saturday morning to install a new one. Pat called 15 minutes prior to arrival. He offered to bring me additional space heaters and hot coffee! They put down runners and wore shoe covers to keep things clean. I would highly recommend them for all of your HVAC and plumbing needs. I would not hesitate to call them again but hopefully it won’t be for awhile!

Thought I was dealing with a reputable highly rated company. Communication was good, courteous and friendly on the phone. Technician arrived and charged $628 to replace a shower cartridge. 30-40 minute job, only had to screw off and screw on an easily accessible cartridge. The repair didn’t stop our shower head drip. After the shower head was still dripping the technician told my wife we should replace our shower head because that’s why the water is dripping. Excuse me but we called them to stop the drip. So we were charged $628 and the problem wasn’t fully resolved.
Called a reputable company to come out and found out there was nothing wrong with our shower head. The problem was still the shower cartridge. So I have no idea what they actually fixed because nothing was resolved and we were out of $628.

I guess they would’ve wanted $600 more to screw on an unnecessary new shower head. I’ve never been charged so much for such a simple straight forward plumbing job. To throw salt on the wound, the issue wasn’t resolved.

We were extremely overcharged for a very simple fix. They are quote based and ovrerquote. We thought the repair was going to be involved so accepted the quote but it ended up being a very simple and quick fix. Paid double what we should have. Would never call them again.

Our entire experience was top notch and professional . Our sump pump broke and was spraying water all over our basement . They answered the phone right away at 7:00 pm on a Saturday night . Our oven, fridge, microwave and half of the outlets in the kitchen stopped working on a Sunday. Hartlaub answered my call immediately and asked us some questions trying to troubleshoot it first before making a trip to the house. When that didn't work they showed up and had the problem figured out in a matter of minutes. Always friendly and always awesome!

Overcharged me by hundreds of dollars on a small job. Not worth your time.

I got home Sunday to find a wet basement thanks to a water heater that rusted a hole in the bottom. I was first impressed at how soon they could have a professional here. (Monday morning!) Angel Rivera worked very efficiently and we had the replacement done within hours. He also noticed a few other things we need to address. I was impressed by his depth of knowledge and willingness to explain things in detail. He provided me a quote on the other work same day, but also was clear that it wasn't an emergency but needed to be addressed - I felt no pressure from him. I would recommend Angel from Hartlaub to anyone who could benefit from his expertise.

I have two emails confirming estmates for HVAC and plumbing tpday between 1and 3. The estimates are performed at a cost of $99 for each professional. My projecr was hooking up a sink and removing an extra nonworking a furnace based on an energy calc. Two office untrained staff called at noon badgered me for detailed information about work scope, , then cancelled because I could not be there an hour earlier than the window. The badgered me I could not explain the scope of work in more detail. I do not think the owners or professionals there condone how their staff handles scheduling and that untrained staff made the decision that the professionals could not do the work without consulinh them. (Lila). Paid quotes are fine. I needed two pros out there and was present , prepared and agreed to meet with them at this cost. i I obtained two professionsl quotes as scheduled at no charge. I would skip this place with the paid quotes and horrible office staff that obviously erred in their scheduling. My experience was not cinsistent with the revielws.

Yay Wayne at Hartlaub! Contacted them at 6:30 this morning and they were here about an hour later fixing our dead air conditioner. They did a great job installing all of our systems 2 years ago. (Air conditioning broke because our dog was determined to get at a rodent and tore the outside wires - not Hartlaubs fault or equipment failure.) I would highly recommend them!!!

We called Hartlaub plumbing at 9:00 on a Sunday night after our sump pump and backup sump pump failed. We live on incredibly wet land and our basement was flooding. They sent someone (Jack H) out within an hour. He was incredibly knowledgeable and professional, especially for having to come after hours on a weekend. He was able to provide insight into our system, repair it and give us estimates/options for future repair. So thankful for everything!

Very excited about our first experience hiring a plumber! Isaac, our plumber, created an outstanding customer experience, starting with calling to tell us he was ahead of schedule and asked if it would be ok to come by early. He asked where would be a good place to park which seems minuscule, but my husband needed to leave for work soon so it was nice he didn’t block the garage for him to get out.
He then asked me if there was anything he could pick up for us on his way, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, or even something from Sendik’s!! I couldn’t believe he was going to pick up a coffee if I wanted!
Once he was here he made sure to place his bag on a floor mat that he’d brought and placed “booty” shoe covers on as to not drag in the rain and dirt from outside.
Isaac continued to explain everything he would do and let my husband and I walk around with him, upstairs and down and into the basement to check the piping, explaining what he was seeing and doing the whole time. He took his time, which was fine because they do not get paid by the hour. We were quoted prices from the beginning based on what he believed he had to do to fix our two clogged toilets and if it took longer than expected then we weren’t charged more. The jobs were done efficiently and our toilets are now fixed and now we both have a better understanding about how it’s all run.
Overall we had a great experience and definitely would recommend Isaac and Hartlaub to anyone looking for an honest home system service company. We are definitely going to turn to them for any other HVAC or electric problems or maintenance we may need in the future as well.
