Absolutely the best experience, I would recommend them to anyone. Very responsive and gave me a breakdown on costs before hand. Ben gave me a call with an approximate arrival time, showed up on time and did an amazing job. I also really appreciated that he took pictures of not only what was wrong, but of the completed repair before reinstalling the toilet. You can’t beat the price for the quality of work you receive.

Mike Smith arrived early and got right to work clearing the drain pipes from our kitchen sink. Then he was on to do what was expected to be a simple replacement of the wax ring seal on one toilet. However, he ran into something totally unexpected when he removed the toilet. I won’t go into detail here, but in my opinion Mike went above and beyond in handling the unexpected problem and then completing the toilet repair. He went to great lengths to keep the mess to a minimum and did a nice job of cleaning up.We used A1 before to fix a leak at the back of a shower valve and they did a great job then. We will definitely call A1 first for any future plumbing problem.

We had a pipe burst in the snap freeze over the holidays. Zach M. came out and fixed the problem quickly and explained what he was doing the whole time. Very professional and I'm getting a water heater replaced by them next!

Chandler Cobb arrived earlier than expected, which was great. We only had to wait a couple of hours for service, and he took care of the job very efficiently. We were very pleased!

I had a clogged drainpipe causing the raw sewage to back up into the house. I had called A-1 on Sunday because of their 24hr. service. They showed up the same day. The technician was very nice, polite and went to work. He had trouble with his equipment and fought more with that then working on the problem. Once he got it working, he found out that the pipe layout was not allowing the snake to go in the direction it needed. By this time, it was late in the afternoon, and he could not fix the problem. I was still charged for the service call. When I called A-1 the next morning I was told that was a 2-man job and it would be two days or more before they could have someone come back. This was unacceptable as I could not go two days or more without working plumbing. I had no choice but to call someone else to fix the problem at an additional cost. The other company came in and within 10 minutes had the problem fixed. I don't feel that I should have to pay the service calls full price for something that didn't get fixed and the lack of concern of having raw sewage backed up in my house.

Technician arrived within the estimated time. He was very polite, friendly and informative. Did an immediate inspection of the job, explained the problem and provided the cost estimate and the time it would take to complete the repair. After receiving my OK, he went right to work and completed the repair. He did a very good job. He cleaned up throughly when he was finished. I was very impressed with his professional manner, ability to clearly explain the problem and to solve the problem. This is the second time we have used A1 and both times it was an excellent experience. From now on they are our company of choice!!!

I called because I needed a service done but did not want to wait for several days before it could be completed. Call around and got a couple of quotes. By far they had the best rate. When the technician arrived he was very courteous and professional. Had the job completed in a timely manner and cleaned up behind himself. Would recommend to anyone.

What should have been a couple of pipe repairs ended up being much more involved. Tanner was great. He took his time and made sure everything was installed correctly. He went out of his way to get the job done right and make sure he didn’t have to come back!

Cortland was the technician who came to my home to install 2 new toilets. I had a few issues several days later which they returned and fixed immediately. He also had to come back a third time for an issue related to the toilet I had purchased and took care of the issue at no charge. He was very polite and patient each time. I would recommend A1.

A-1 has been incredible to work with as we make changes on our home. All the techs we have worked with have been excellent in their work and friendly as they helped us solve plumbing issues. Scheduling staff has been great in getting techs out to us as quickly as possible.

Chris came to our home from A-1 on June 28 to problem solve several plumbing issues in an upstairs bath. He diagnosed the problems quickly, explained what was wrong and how to fix them. He explained what he did afterwards so we would understand the job that was done. Chris was so nice and respectful of our home. He worked efficiently and did a wonderful job. This is the second time he has helped us and we just think he's great.

I had an appointment set for 9:30am however technicians didn't arrive until 1:48pm. No one from the office or project manager caiied about the four hour delay. The hourly rate for the five hour repair was $300 which I believe was ridiculous but I needed the leak fixed. Keeping a customer informed about appointment changes and offering a military or senior discounts would've been appreciated.

I called late on a Saturday evening and received an appointment for Monday. My problem was not urgent. I received text alerts and a phone call to confirm my appointment. Chandler Cobb was the service tech. He was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. He explained the problem and process to me. For any plumbing needs in the future, I will DEFINITELY use this company again, and will also recommend to my family and friends.

My husband and I called A-1 at around 10pm on 7/1/19 with a severe issue. We received a call back within 10 minutes from one of their technicians by the name of FARO. He stated that he would be arriving within 30 minutes which was extremely accurate, but before he even knocked on the door, he had already assessed the situation as to why our bathroom toilet was overflowing. He fixed the problem within 15 minutes and might we say he was very knowledgeable and pleasant especially at that time of evening when most people will just come get the job done and be gone. He conversed with my husband and I as though it was the afternoon which made us make a decision that A-1 will be our go to company for any of our plumbing needs. A1 did a fantastic job repairing and fixing our clogged drain. A1 plumber, Lamont was so honest and efficient. He explained everything he was doing while fixing the clogged drain. Lamont acted like he was fixing the problem like it was at his own house. I can't thank Lamont and A1 for their professional service. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing issues. They are constantly communicating when the service man will arrive and were up front on the hourly cost before performing the service. There were no fees added. We were very impressed with this company. Their 24-7 call center made it so convenient to schedule an appointment. Though they offered to come that same day, we opted to schedule an appointment the next day. They were incredibly easy to work with and got the problem fixed within an hour of the tech's arrival. The prices were fair and made known to us before service which was very helpful. They will definitely be our first call if we have any other plumbing issues at our home!

I used A1 recently to get some leaks fixed, and they got me scheduled right away on short notice. My technician was Mike Smith, and let me tell you, this was one professional and courteous young man. He quickly trouble shot my issues and had them all repaired within 2 hours. Once it came time to pay, I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable they charged me. I have used Rotor Rooter previously, and I paid three times more for similar work through them. A1 will be my go to for all plumbing needs in the future, and I hope they send Mike out our way again.

This review is not based on their quality of work as I did not end up using them after receiving a quote, and is instead based on the quote I received. I wanted a drain put into slab for a shower. They quoted me roughly $5,250 to put in one drain. In this quote nothing is itemized. Just quantity: 1 price: $5,250 with a list of things they would do. There was no estimated material cost or labor cost in their estimate. They expected me to accept their high price with no good explanation on why it cost that much. After getting a quote from another company I was told the way A-1 wanted to do it was not at all the easiest way (they wanted to break up all the way to my toilet, have the new drain go to the toilet and run a new vent line to the attic and connect into the existing vent stack) since there was already a vented shower drain pipe of adequate size right behind where I want to put the the new shower drain that would require less slab to be broken up, less materials, and less time than the work a-1 was trying to do. The new company quoted me over $3,000 less than a-1 and they are even doing the supply line work that a-1 didn't include in their quote. A1 sent out an inspector for the quote but then the inspector relied on a plumber who was not even on site to tell him what the quote would be and the best way to do it. Turns out the actual best way to do it is to hire another company other than A-1. Will not consider this company again.

A-1 treated a clogged drain in our kitchen sink. The technician did his work fine, took about 45 minutes to unclog the drain. My issue was not with the work the technician performed, but the lack of professional care for our home. The technician walked outside in the mud and did not even attempt to wipe his feet and tracked muddy footprints from the back of our house all the way to the kitchen, including all over a rug. Now we are having an issue with a sewer smell coming from the pipes that A-1 pulled apart and put back together and I am being told that I will have to pay $200 in order to have someone come out. A-1 has been the only company to treat our pipes in the year of living at our house and after the lack of professional care I received during the first visit, I do not feel confident paying $200 to come look at a problem that may be a result of the work their technician performed.

A-1 was great! Buck came and assessed our water heater— it needed to be replaced. They came the next day, took the old one out, installed the new one, cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. Very friendly.

Called at 8:30 am on Saturday morning to have 3 sink drains Plumbed in the tech David showed up at our home at 9:50 am walked through and looked at what needed to be done was done with all 3 jobs and ran all faucets for multiple minutes to check for leaks then walked around with me to verify his work. He did not in any way take his time he had what he needed knew what he was doing and knocked it out. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Bottom Line: highly recommend! I used Angi to find A1 Sewer & Drain and they were timely and responsive to my inquiry. They were courteous, communicative, punctual, and efficient! Drew, the technician, was personable, communicative, courteous, and super efficient. Swapped out my garbage disposal in under 30 minutes. He cleaned up after himself and quickly talked through the extra talking points. Drew is a valuable asset to the A1 Sewer & Drain team!

I was very happy with your service. You were prompt, efficient, and you were honest about the charges. When you came the last time and you thought I did not need anything done, you did not charge for the visit.

The tech was very knowledgeable and friendly and HELPFUL!! He explained things well and offered the best course of action. He told us our water heater was still under warranty. He also helped us find a new one and will be coming back to install!

First and foremost, A1was available the same day that I called. Zach immediately heard and responded to the sound that I was hearing, which turned out to be a leak under the house from an incorrectly installed freezer line. He was able to stop the leak and walk me through next steps in a significant remediation process. Very personable and easy to work with. I am so glad that I found A1 and will DEFINITELY use them in the future.

Mrs. Chambers was very professional and knowledgeable of of the task and to be performed I had several projects goin at the same time and she was the last to show up and the first to be completed. She also gave me a quote for a future project that's most important for the value of my home. She did an awesome job. I'm very pleased with the results.

After calling, I was told there was a 15$ travel fee, which is fine. I was also told it would be 170$ for the first hour of labor, also fine, had something actually been done about the leak near our water heater. Our tech arrived at 1516 exactly, I know this because I texted my husband when he arrived. I showed the tech where the leak was, he diagnosed it immediately and called his warehouse/store for the part. This was about 15 minutes later. He informed us the part would be 648$ plus about an hour of labor, which is fine. What is not fine is the fact that we just paid 185$ for what was 30 minutes of simple diagnostics. No labor. No parts. Nothing. The tech had called the supervisor to see if this could be waived, as I wanted to discuss over 700$ in what would be plumbing costs with my husband. This was not okay with whoever supervisor this was discussed with. I am not dissatisfied with the tech, I am dissatisfied and disgusted that I paid 185$ for absolutely nothing. And that the “hour billed” was actually 30 minutes at MOST. Had I known I’d be billed the minute he arrived (minus the travel fee) we would have gone with another provider. Also, this tech sat in my driveway for approximately 15 minutes, I know this because as I called my husband and was about to walk to our mailbox he was STILL sitting there at 1558. I don’t want to think this was to bill the full rate but I don’t have another explanation otherwise. I don’t understand the glowing reviews at all and hope this helps another poor working family like ourselves NOT choose to do business with this company.

Technician arrived on time, went straight to work on my washing machine which was leaking. Checked the hoses and discovered the leak and replaced a worn washer. Simple fix, cost less than $1 to repair. Next he went to my toilet which would make a bumping noise when flushed. He explained this is called “water hammer”. He replace 2-3 parts in the toilet tank and that problem was fixed also. He was at my house for about 1/2 hour. Well worth the cost to know the problems presented were both easy fixes. The technician was knowledgeable and courteous. I would definitely use this company again.

Zach, Lyndon, and Polo all went above and beyond with their work, and their patience in explaining what they were doing every step. Also, speedy response time, and very fair pricing compared to the first quote I got from another plumber. Finally, great communication from office staff, including Mike and several others whose names I can't recall ( Katie and Michelle, maybe), making sure I knew exactly when their technicians would be arriving.

My gas hot water tank leaked all over my garage and I called A1 Sewer and Drain to come and replace it. Amazing service!!! They had a plumber at my house within an hour and a half. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and very neat.The water heater was replaced and the mess, including all the water in my garage. It's not often that I write reviews but in this instance I felt it necessary. The price was fair, the company representative was very polite and explained everything about the job and completed it in a very timely manor. I had an emergency unexpected toilet clog and I called A1 and they were the only ones that I could get out on the same day!! When I called the lady who answered was very pleasant and advised me that my window was 10am-1pm. Not only did they come quick but I received my call for him to come around 15 mins after setting my appointment with them. Justin Dix was my plumber and he was great!!! He was quick, efficient, and able to spot the problem asap. He completed the job within an hour! His temperament and demeanor was very personable and professional! Also what I love about A1 was after my appointment was confirmed they texted me a picture of who would be working on my toilet, which I appreciate because I want to know who I am allowing into my home!

A1 gets 7 stars if that was possible.When you call a plumbing company many times you are totally under stress . I will say that every single worker that came to my home to repair and find my broken pipe was professional, kind and knowledgeable.The gentleman that came to find my leak knew instantly what was wrong.The repair people fixed the pipe and were kind and welcoming. I had a small leak in my main water line coming into my house so I Called A1 to come and repair It. The man showed up while i was at work to start the repairs and had them done by the time we got home. After the repairs I was left with very weak water pressure, so I called A1 back to come take a look, after about a 5 min walk around and a helpful tip of sometimes its the aerator in your sink that needs to be clean he then told me i would have to pay to troubleshoot the problem that was not there before the leak was fixed. So they tore up my yard charged me 5k to repair and did not restore my pressure, would not recommend.

I called after hours Tuesday evening and the person answering the phone was very helpful in providing a quote and setting an appointment for Wednesday morning. I got a call at 815am with the technician Buck on the way and he arrived as stated. He was wearing mask, gloves and shoe covers. The second technician arrived with the heater and the job was done in a reasonable time frame. It did come higher than the quote because a part broke but was still very reasonable. The only complaint I could say is I got inconsistent/ confusing information from the initial phone call about the need for an inspection from the gas company. However I would definitely use the company again in the future.

We needed our kitchen faucet replaced, which would have been very difficult for us to do ourselves because of how the water lines and disposal were configured.I called A1 and they were able to come out the same day. The technicians were very polite, pleasant, and quick. They replaced the faucet and cleaned up within 30 minutes of arriving.They were very affordable, so the money we spent was well worth it

Overall a great experience! Matt and Karon did a wonderful job installing an outdoor spigot and fixing a few leaks for us. They were on time, professional and able to answer all of my questions. Jeremy did a great job unclogging the plumbing under our house from the kitchen sink. He said he had to snake 30 feet out. I was shocked. He was clean, on time, and personable. My wife and I had an issue with our drain lines backing up into the house. We had a very nice gentleman named Leslie that came to our home and assessed the situation. He located and found the septic lid and opened it up to determine if it was a septic issue or a standard drain clog. Unfortunately he found that the septic was completely full which he unfortunately was not set up to handle that kind of service. Despite the fact that Leslie and A1 are not equipped to pump out a septic system. The timeliness and professionalism goes a long way. In addition the prices are reasonable considering the work they do. I would recommend Leslie and/or A1 sewer and septic service to anyone who has an a plumbing issue.

After trying to clear a stopped up sink for 2 days, which included different drain clearers and snaking the pipes, with little to no success I called A1, I got an appointment for one day later, the technician Steve was on time, professional, effective, efficient and got the job done quickly. I can't say enough good things about my technician Ben Cadena! I was no help finding the crawl space under the house since I'm not the owner, but he located it in a timely manner and got straight to work on it. He was very friendly to talk to and patient with my overbearing Rottweiler. Pricing was very affordable as an added bonus, I thought I was gonna have to sell a kidney to pay for it. I hope I don't have any more issues, but if I do, they will be my first call. Please give this man a raise, he truly deserves it

I called for an estimate for a gas water heater and they charged me 3x the cost of the water itself in labor fees! The water heater was $620 and they were charging over $1800 in labor fees! Unacceptable.

Greg was excellent customer service wise, and with labor as well. He was very personable and did great work. The only complaint I have is unrelated to Greg completely, but with the company itself. The rates and amount due by the end of the service was very confusing and I ended up spending over $200 more than I was estimated. The company was very kind in offering me a $50 credit on top of the coupons I was already able to apply. Although I’m disappointed I spent more money than I planned on, I am very satisfied with the customer service from everyone involved.

The technician Chris was very helpful explained everything he did and was doing. Gave me advise for possible future problems and cleaned his work area well. Having anyone out to have work done can be stressful. Although I felt at ease. Also for the work done the price was fair IMO. I will definitely have them back again if needed.

We discovered that we had a leak in the wall under our kitchen sink. Upon further investigation we found that the leak was more than we could deal with ourselves and due to it's location we had to shut off the water to the whole house. We called A-1 and even though it was after hours one of their techs was willing to come out and take a look at it. Greg S. was very polite & professional, he was able to fix the problem and we had our water back on again in under an hour. We have used A-1 in the past and have always had a good experience with them.

As someone who works in sales and understands the importance of an online review, I hate leaving negative feedback. The business I work for used A1 Plumbing for a pretty major repair that included replacing the lines from the toilets almost all the way out to the city line. A week after the repairs, the toilets began flooding from underneath as well. We called back and set an appointment for a technician to come out. The appointment was set 2-3 days out which was frustrating but I understand that they are a large company with tons of appointments. However, no one ever showed for that appointment. When I called to inquire why it was missed, the person who answered the phone seemed burdened by my call and offered zero explanation. The technician finally came out the day after the missed appointment and replaced a part in the tank of one of the two toilets. Only three days after that, both toilets began backing up again. I called on a Wednesday and scheduled an appointment. They set it for Friday between 3-6 p.m., which was acceptable. However, at 6:35 p.m. that day, I received a call from their technician that he was in Newport News. As a business that closes at 7 p.m., and that being the first call we had received from them that day, that was unacceptable. The technician said they could come the following day between 12-3 p.m. When I called back Saturday morning to confirm the 12-3 p.m. appointment, I was told there was nothing on file and that they would not be able to make it out due to only one technician being on call. Needless to say that we will be taking our business elsewhere. It is frustrating to see after giving a business so many chances.

My wife and I experienced water damage recently and this company was fast and responsive to our needs. I reached out to multiple companies in an attempt to address the issues and both times that we needed service this was the company that was able to get to us the soonest. At no time did they say they couldn't help us; some of the others did, or simply never showed up after we made an appointment. Even though the issue was complicated, they handled it well and shared professional insight that allowed us to make the best decision for our home.

Guy came out for an estimate and was told I had a broken sewer pipe that needed repaired/replaced along with old piping that should be replaced as well. He showed me a picture of the crawlspace that didn't really show much. When I showed other people the picture, they said it wasnt even of a pipe. It was duct work for my AC. The estimated cost he gave me was around 3500 PLUS an additional 3000 to clean out the underneath of house. Decided to get another quote from McPherson plumbing in EC. Literally all I needed was a $20 cap for the pipe. I'm highly disappointed that someone would try to screw me over like that. I can't imagine how many other people this has happened to.

He immediately diagnosed the problem and unclogged my sink. He also too the time to educate me on the proper use of a garbage disposal. I will definitely call A-1 again!!

The technician was very nice but was not knowledgeable on water heaters AT ALL. We ended up paying $195 for him to call the manufacturer on the tank and wait on hold for almost an hour before he basically stated he really dealt with the plumbing side of his company. My husband rejected his assistance since we would have to pay $75 after every hour. Make sure you ask these techs if they actually have experience with the repair you are asking for. We wasted our money and WILL NOT be using this company again. Thank you!

Great service and professional plumbers. I would say these are the most professional and honest people I have dealt with. Only reason not 5 stars is a 5 minute repair cost the full $195 service fee. Would be 5 stars if the service fee for quick jobs was a little more reasonable of a cost. Highly recommended either way.

We had water leaking in our house that was coming through the walls and causing more damage. The first plumbing company we contacted said they wouldn't be able to come out until the following day, it was morning so it would have been 24 hours or more of a wait. We contacted A-1 and they came out much quicker. The plumber we had clearly knew his job well and got it fixed quickly. He was also very polite and respectful.

Zach M was extremely thorough. He told me what he was going to do and why then kept me apprised of how it was going. Water was backing up at the sink, dishwasher and washing machine. My drains were clogged from the sink in the kitchen to midway through the house where they junctured to go out to the septic. When he finished everything worked wonderfully well. He even gave me hints to keep this from happening again. I will definetly use A1Plumbing and would hope my technician will be Zach M he did a really good, thorough job in a timely fashion.

A1 is the best plumbing company! I have had 2 other companies come out and they have given me the wrong diagnosis but A1 was able to get my issue fixed for good! I learned so much from Cameron and Willie today! They were polite, on time, and reasonably priced! I recommend these guys for any sewer, drain, and plumbing related issue. I contacted A-1 because they were local and had good Google reviews. Wish I could say I received quality service. They charged me $229 and created more issues than were here to begin with, now have even more bathrooms out of order, and then they denied any responsibility for their actions, noting the nature of clogged drains, taking no responsibility either for the outlandish cost they quoted me for my broken toilet, which I truly believe wasn't actually broken to begin with.I'd ask anyone who reads this to check out my other Google reviews. I don't normally take the time to leave a bad review. In this case, it was warranted.

A1 Plumbing was able to come fix our leak the same day we called. Chandler from A1 Sewer & Drain was excellent. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He did a great job diagnosing and repairing our plumbing issue and knew exactly where to get the part he needed (which is impressive considering our house is 121+ years old). We will definitely recommend A1 and will use them again for our next plumbing repair.

I needed to have my faucet repaired, was charged $185 only to have someone look at it and tell me they don't have the part to fix it and can't install a new brand of faucet without cutting in from the other side of the wall in another room, not the wall of the bathtub.. They said they would call me back after ordering the part. Never heard back, even when I called, they said they would get back to me... still never heard back. I called Worleys and they installed a new faucet instantly by simply cutting a bigger hole into the wall of the bathtub. Never calling A1 again. Felt like I was scammed out of $185.

I had a sewage back up in my home at 3am Sun morning. I called my home warranty company who wasn't open at the time and had to call back hours later at which time they assigned a plumbing company to come out that I never heard from until today (Tues). This was a very urgent matter so I called A1 who advertised having 24hr emergency serevice and I got the answering service who immediately had someone call me at 4:30 in the morning. I think his name was David. He gave me some advice on what to do as far as getting my warranty company to authorize them to come out to do the job so that I could be reimbursed what I would be paying out of pocket to them. The warranty company made me give the company they assigned to me 4 hours to respond before they would authorized A1 coming out, but in the end they did. When I called back to have A1 come out, I spoke to Carol who was very pleasant and eager to help me in my frantic situation. She really took the time to explain things to me, give me pointers and she just calmed me down and took some of the edge off. She kept me posted every step of the way as far as the technicians whereabouts and when he would get to me. Once the technician (John) got there, he immediately located the problem and got me up and running again, because before he got there, I was unable to use any water or toilets in my home. He was very knowledgeable and efficient. All and all these people seemed to be very honest and trustworthy. I felt comfortable with them and will definitely used them again and recommend them to family and friends.

BE CAREFUL and please READ the entire review! I am sharing the e-mail I sent to their management team three times. MISDIAGNOSIS TWICE and almost GOT SCAMMED for over $12,000. I’ve spoken to two management personnel and explained the situation. One of them is a plumber and he offered to do a courtesy inspection, which I later refused because I believe it was pointless. I will not name the Master Plumber who came to the house the second time, but for them to insist that I pay the second invoice (another misdiagnosis where I almost agreed to pay $12,000 and let them rip apart my living room) is EXTREMELY UNACCEPTABLE and just bad business. The last representative I spoke to threatened to send my $300+ bill to collections if I don’t pay.---------------Jan 23, 2023, MondayGood morning,I spoke with Cindy today at 11:15am. I'm attaching pictures showing that there's a clean out at my house and that the clog has been fixed.Your technician (name deleted) told me that the only way to fix my clog is to replace a collapsed line. That would entail breaking down my living room floors (concrete), removing and replacing the line and install a clean out in the front of the house. According to him, this job would cost $12,800. Desperate and not knowing much about plumbing, I asked him if he can go down with the price. He called me back a few mins later and claimed that his supervisor yelled at him for quoting $1,500.00 below actual price. I almost signed a contract with him yesterday (Sunday). Thank God I was able to find an honest and competent plumber who was able to find my cleanout in less than 30 minutes and fix my clog issue. I paid $400 after all is said and done, and on a Sunday job too.Either you guys have an incompetent plumber who would give me no other option but to pay $12,000 to fix what only cost me a $400 job or you have some very dishonest people. To say that I am upset and disappointed is an understatement.I don't know how A1 is going to make this right. But the least I am expecting from your Class A company is to NOT charge me for the second visit after he has given me a BS recommendation. I already paid for (deleted name)'s visit even though he was not able to either fix any issue or properly diagnose the problem.I have attached pictures of the cleanout and de-clogged toilet in my bathroom that none of the technicians you sent were able to fix.

I had high expectations for this company to help me out but unfortunately I was left very disappointed with the work they provided for me. For starters I spoke with the manager who gave me a “quote” for the work I was looking to get done , once papers were signed.. they claimed to only agree to do half of the work I needed . I tried constantly to get in contact with the manager in regards to the agreement and could never get a response! Not only that but their work FAILED the inspection TWICE for the plumbing!! They left my front yard an uneven mess ! They also cut up concrete on my walk way and “patched it back up” knowing it was going to rain that day ! It’s been over 3 weeks and not one person has came to check up on the job ! Working with this company has left me incredibly dissatisfied, and very upset.. don’t waste your money or time on poor quality work .!

I have used A1 many times in the past and today’s service has been the best. Jamie and his partner were very knowledgeable and professional during their time here. They both went above and beyond to help put my kitchen back to place and cleaned up after themselves when it was all done. I have had others who left it a total mess.

Brandon came out to check why my shower was clogging. Instead of snaking it or checking the pipes he just ran the water for 20 minutes and said nothing we can do, you just have an old house. And then quoted me almost $5,000 to replace all the pipes under my house. After that I still had to pay the $200 service fee. Waste of time and money, went to Michael and Sons for a second opinion and they were able to fix my issue same day. Don't waste your time with A-1. Their quality has gone down significantly.Edit as of 9/11- Candice from A1 reached out and was able to refund me the cost for the service fee which is appreciated and starts rebuilding the trust that was lost.

Your Technician Jeronmy was supremely helpful and courteous. He explained to me in detail upfront the process and how long it would take, and constantly kept me updated on the progress of the work of installing my new water heater. I appreciate the professionalism Jeronmy and Ben displayed and would recommend them to any friends who may need service.

I've used A-1 a few times. Customer service is always good and they are usually available to come out right away - let's be honest, it's always an emergency 😀.I gave 4 stars because the fee to come out initially was almost $200. The guy was there for 10 mins to say 'yup you need a new waterheater'...as it's spraying water all over the place. I get there's a price to come out/diagnose but dang!HOWEVER, I did get a $100 discount off the final bill, but only because I asked - that should have been automatically offered.

Earl Copeland is a excellent technician extremely professional and knowledgeable in his field. He has a “get it done” attitude and always makes sure the customer is satisfied. I was on a tight deadline and Earl came and saved the day! Thanks A1 for having reliable technicians!

We called spoke with a pleasant customer service person got an estimate over the phone accepted offer and we’re scheduled for service of a replacement hot water heater install in 24 hours. Excellent service professional installers. Not our first time using this company. We feel confident and comfortable with them.

The folks of A-1 Sewer and Drain Plumbing and Heating of Virginia Beach, have been very helpful and responsive to our requests. The installers were polite, efficient, knowledgeable and efficient in the work.The office staff have been a pleasant joy to talk with and they had answered every request quickly with politeness that is missing in a lot of other companies.Not only were the people were great, their pricing was better than any other operation we contacted by half. They took care of all the necessary permits and inspection in a timely manor. They are great.

Nick was absolutely fantastic. We thought our garbage disposal needed a full replacement. However he was in and out without having to in 5 minutes total. He was super accepting of the fact we had 3 dogs too, the lack of hesitation with them was comforting. Would definitely recommend.

A1 did an excellent job for us. JB and Andrew were highly professional and knew their job well. They were able to come to the job early which worked well for us. Once there they were very efficient and very nice. They looked over our situation and went straight to work making the repairs. The item they fixed was done quickly and very well. They discovered another issue that needs to be scheduled for a seperate visit due to parts needed and time on their schedule. I highly recommend A1 Plumbing and will have them do the additional work and will hire them again when I need plumbing services.

Had an appointment for 9-1030am with the understanding that I had a work commitment that required the appointment be completed by 1030 at the latest. The tech showed up at nearly 10:40. He was professional, polite and did quick work when there, but likely won't use them because I need reliable service and commitment to appointment times.UPDATE: They did call to apologize for the lack of communication and inconvenience for not showing on time. They obviously make an effort to address customers concerns, which is WAY better than most service companies.

Great experience with Brandon! They came to give me an estimate the same day I called and schedule to complete the major pipe replacement within 48 hours. They gave professional advice and recommendations for long term solutions that were most beneficial for our home and family. They replaced all 85ft of rusted sewer pipes in one day. They were also super helpful with documenting the damage to the pipes for insurance throughout the whole process. I would 100% refer them to friends and family.

My brother was out of town for the Christmas holiday. I was staying at his home. In the middle of the night I heard water. I went downstairs to find the water leaking from 3 different areas. I called my brother and we tried everything. Finally I called the first 24 hr plumbing service I saw. THANK GOD!!! The customer service was amazing at 3:30 in the morning. They got Mike Mullen out here and he was over an hour earlier than the quoted time. He and his partner were amazing!!! They were extremely knowledgeable. They were very friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure the work was done correctly and in a very timely manner! Special thanks to Mike and his partner. You Guys are the BEST!!!!!!

First, the technician, Chris B. was phenomenal. Very professional, did great work, and kept me informed along the way. That's where the good ends. Initial estimate was by a different tech who quoted me the price and I verified the initial payment was a deposit toward the full job - it was to replace the diverter valve behind the wall. It was even noted that way in the contract along with the balance due. He said he'd be back out the next day or day after. Five days went by without a word so I called. Found out that tech had quit but they'd put my work order back at the top. Chris B. came out the next day. It didn't start off well as he said the initial payment was the service call and the full estimate did not include that. I argued and even showed him that exact verbiage on his own iPad. He agreed but said the previous tech didn't do a proper estimate and didn't leave any notes. Chris B. called back to his boss more than once to get this straightened out, with Chris B. passing to me his boss's message that said I'm getting three discounts as this job should have cost nearly three times what I was quoted. This work was being done for my elderly mother-in-law who is on a fixed income. When the work was done, everything looked good and the shower flow was back to normal. 10 days later my mother-in-law said the shower head was replaced by the tech and didn't like how it sprayed. Come to find out the head was part of the shower knob kit and without asking, Chris B. replaced it with the much cheaper head and took the original with him. I called A-1 today but as expected, that shower head was nowhere to be found. A-1 did offer to install one that I purchase for only $75. Wow. You take something you shouldn't have and you not only NOT offer to replace it, but you want to charge me $75 to screw off one and screw a replacement back on. No thanks.

We had a pretty involved situation - toilets, showers, and laundry room had to be connected to outdoor pipes leading to city sewage connections. In addition a pump had to be installed and an old septic tank filled in. Joster and his crew were on time, were professional in their work, and cleaned up everything when they were finished. We are very pleased with the results of their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work; they know what they’re doing and do it well.

We called and scheduled a quote for a simple tub drain, faucet and toilet plumbing installation. We had all the parts. We didn’t want them to put in the tub or toilet simply plumb in the drains. We were quoted over $3000 for less than 3 hours worth of work. The estimator was rather arrogant, provided litter detail and really didn’t listen to what we were looking for. Their estimate was not broken down into detail and simply listed a lump sum price. Definitely do not recommend. If there was an option to leave a zero star review I would have done so.

We had a great service with the technicians sent to repair our slab leak. Vonnie was very professional, communicated well with us and was very polite. I will be using A1 again for other plumbing jobs.

In addition to a terrific job repairing/replacing our kitchen sink plumbing, on a separate occasion A-1 performed an on-site investigation for the source of a bad drain/sewer smell in the house. In both cases they were on time and completed the tasks in a timely and professional manner. We will use them again for any future plumbing issues.

After an obvious busy workday James arrived late to replace our water heater. He worked steadily and carefully until the job was finished and then methodically went over the steps necessary to maintain the integrity of the water heater. Without hesitation he helped us put back items that were moved to allow a new water heater to be installed. Kudos to James and his work ethic!

broken water supply line to bathroom sink was spraying water everywhere. 10pm on a Saturday night, repair was beyond my basic skills. Only way to secure the water was at the street. Due to medical issues, we need water when we need it. So glad i called A1. Caller was patient, took my information. Ben called back and said he'd be here in 25 minutes. He was on time, looked at the problem, said what needed to be done and it would take half an hour. Half an hour later the supply line was fixed, water turned back on and his workspace looked like it never happened. I also got some good advice on installing well placed cut off valves, a future project that needs to be done. All in all we are happy customers. Pricy, Saturday night emergency call will be expensive. That is not a criticism, just fact. Thankful for 24 hour service.

I can't say enough about Jamie from A1 Sewer & Drain. Give this man a raise immediately. Earlier in the week we had to do a sewage pipe repair, he did an awesome job and finished by the end of the day. Very communicative about everything that he was doing. A few days later, we had a water line leak that started filling the newly dug trench with water. (possibly because the inspector had slipped into the hole earlier) We called A1 and surprisingly although he wasn't working that late, he came anyway. In about 30 degree weather with a short sleeve t-shirt on, he was lying in the mud on his belly fixing the problem. I felt so bad that he had to do that but he said he just wanted to make sure we had water. A+ guy. Give him a promotion!!

I need to stress that I have not used this company. I feel like I need to leave this review because it is my belief that one of A1’s drivers was putting peoples lives at risk. This past Friday 08/18 at around 5:30 I was headed eastbound towards the oceanfront on 264 near the Independence Blvd exit in Virginia Beach when I saw one of your work vans going well over 100 miles an hour and violently cutting people off. A few different times the driver jerked the wheel so hard I thought they were going to flip the van. They got right behind me at one point with just inches between us. I didn’t get a license plate or any other identifier besides the company name. There really isn’t any excuse for this kind of behavior and I wanted A1 to be aware that this is how their equipment is being used.

A1 needed to come out twice, the first time was to clear the upstairs drain, then a week later to clear the kitchen drain.Both times techs came incredibly fast and service was very quick. We'd scheduled a plumber for Monday, with our water heater leaking slowly. However, by Friday evening, it was clear we couldn't wait that long~we knew this water heater had to go ASAP! We called A1, never having used them before, and (surprisingly) they said they'd be there the following morning to replace it.Steve arrived, bringing the new water heater on Saturday morning, as promised. He was pleasant, and clearly a professional, rapidly removing the aged, faulty, water heater. He then had to make a run for a pan to go beneath the new one, and handled that task in short order. He returned to complete the installation of the new device, still pleasant, still professional, and also recommending a company to call for water damage repair.We were incredibly pleased with Steve and his A1 service. 100% satisfied!

Jon was really great! We had a few busted valve shut offs for our washer as well as our outdoor spigot. He replaced a very nasty and old washer valve box and it looks and works great! He also fixed our leaky outdoor spigot with just an o-ring. Great work. A1 was super helpful! Thank you!

Update to my last review because needed to call A1 to my home again ( 2 years later). The toilets backed-up on Thanksgiving morning and family coming over in a few hours!! JB came out and fixed the problem quickly!!! He was very kind, efficient and saved Thanksgiving!!.Robin and his helper where very helpful. They resolved several issues that I had and that other plumbers took the easy way out and didn't permanently resolve. I am very grateful for this. I will definitely use their services again.

Zach showed up on time and fixed the leak that my HVAC contractor had found in my crawl space quickly and efficiently. Also, identified the source of a water pressure issue with my kitchen sink and fixed it with no trouble. Would use their services again for future plumbing issues!

There really is nothing quite like having a pipe burst in your house late on a Saturday night…3 days before your destination/out of town wedding.I ended up calling two places - one that I knew of and then A1 based on Google reviews. The other place got back to me immediately but we were still waiting to hear back on a time from a tech. Then A1 called and they had Pat B. out to us within an hour of initial contact which was such a relief.At first their price seemed a little high but that’s because there were no hidden fees and it was the actual cost to come out and do the labor…and overall it actually ended up being very reasonable and not expensive at all for a Sunday AM emergency call! Plus Pat was extremely friendly and knowledgeable…and diligent to get it fixed quickly and correctly. More importantly we felt totally comfortable having him in our home.Needless to say, I would highly recommend them and will absolutely be using them for any plumbing needs in the future! Amen for A1! They are the best! Greg is extremely knowledgeable about plumbing and doesn’t mind going above and beyond for the customer. I just bought this house a month ago and have been dealing with constant backups and clogged pipes. I am very happy with the service. My facet outside was not working. I called and the plumber was out the same day. He worked on it for a long time. He could not find the water line. While he was searching he replaced old lines. Still didn't find the line. I called A1 again and he came back out. He suggested to make a new line. I finally have water in my backyard. His dedication and dedication to help me is greatly appreciated.

I needed to have a bathroom vanity removed to get flooring installed. They were able to do it at half the price of others that I called and also scheduled a return trip to re-install for after the flooring was done.The tech was friendly and punctual and arrived at the front end of the time window that you are given. They sent me a text prior to arrival and even a picture of the person I should expect to arrive at my door. The service was fast and clean. I would definately use them again if I ever need a plumber again.

Both toilets standing water - would not flush - water backing up in the tub and the shower. Called A1 Sewer & Drain. Nice lady set us up with a technician that came out within one hour. Gregory to the rescue! I have never met a nicer, more informative technician like Gregory!! He had to dig in front of our home to find the main drain to snake it. But when he found it, he couldn’t go that route for it was a “Y” connection so he came up with another option. Took his snake, and was able to flush out what he called a “soft clog”. He also informed us of another option to the “Y” connection which would be a “T” connection that would have made the job go faster. While I had put off this repair for some time, I finally bit the bullet and called to get the appointment. A-1 had replaced my hot water heater after a major leak a few years ago and I knew that they were reputable. It was easy to ignore this new problem. Faro was extremely well spoken and obviously knew what he was doing. His work was excellent, well done and very neat. My experiences with A-1 have been top of the line. I highly recommend them.

Zach was very professional. He called in advance and gave an accurate estimate of when he would get to my place. The repair was done in under an hour which would have taken me two- three years of school to learn to fix because I'm not the best with tools.

Supervisor sets up an appointment for sink repair. Worker shows up 30 minutes past the slotted timeframe. The worker initially tells me my sink needs to get replaced due to rotting. I had him show me where, he pointed to a shiny spot that was sitting on a bracket.Three minutes after that conversation, he reports they do not do the type of repairs. I pointed the specific service out on there website. It was his last job for the night and he showed a large disinterest in working.This company is unreliable and dishonest. I recommend using another company.

The worst thing to happen is having a clogged sink drain at 1030 at night. We called another competitor and was told we'd have to wait around 1230am at the earliest. Did another quick search and found A1 also has 24hr service. We called and the representative took our info and within 2 minutes Tony had called asking if we'd like him to come to us. Absolutely we did. From the time he came in he was super friendly and got right to work. Didn't mind us asking questions. There was some difficulty getting the pipes off but he kept at it. Tony let us know along the way what was happening. He was able to get the clog free. He cleaned up and got everything back to how it was. Did a last final check before leaving. Tony was absolutely great! Thank you! Will recommend to friends and family.

Sent a request for service via their online system and received a response within a day - had a technician on-site the next day. That's outstanding service! The technician, Jeronmy, was on-time, very personable and professional, and explained what he was doing/going to do at each step of the process. He even checked back with his manager to discuss our particular situation - he didn't just make something up or throw up his arms. Although they were not able to correct the specific problem, we did rule out a number of things and brought some peace of mind that my house's plumbing was in good shape. Would highly recommend.

Mike, my A1 tech arrived within a few hours of me calling. I had raw sewage pooling above ground and Mike went right to work crawling under my house discovering the problem, snaking the pipes, and recommending further actions. He was friendly and professional, and went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction.

My water heater bit the dust after 10PM. I shut off the water and gas supply. Called the on-call number and made an appointment for the next day. I received a call back at 8:30 the next morning with an arrival time of 2 to 6 PM. Patrick and Terrell arrived early. By 5:30 they had removed the old unit and placed the new unit. This was an attic installation and was not easily accessible. The crew got it done.I have used A-1 Sewer and Drain for plumbing issues and installs of fixtures before and always found your technicians courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Leaves the work site clean. Pricing is excellent compared to highly advertised competition.

Jason was wonderful, he explained what he needed to do, to repair the leak in the pipe. He was very personable and easy to talk to, and he was quick. I would ask for him every time I need any plumbing issues. Thank you A-1 and Jason.

*UPDATE*Justin and John were sent to install the line, and were very courteous and professional. I had a few questions about the gas line, and they were very helpful and knowledgeable about their craft. They had to get access into my attic to reignite the gas water heater when they were finished, and were very insightful on tips regarding my HVAC issues. When they left, they immediately notified Sherry (their permits officer), and reminded me that now the county would have to come out and inspect the work. I was warned that the county is very hard to get an exact date and time with for inspections, and that do not schedule any inspection times with the individual, and usually show up at their leisure.Almost a week went by, and still nothing from the Inspector. Whole days were wasted waiting on someone who never showed up! However, A-1 Sewer and Drain were very understanding and sympathetic to my needs by frequently emailing and calling the county for any updates. They were finally able to get a hold of the James City County permits office - AFTER A WHOLE WEEK - to send an inspector out to test the gas pressure and fixtures that A-1 installed.After the inspection was complete, the inspector told me he wanted the fixture caulked in the crawlspace in order to give it a Pass. I immediately called A-1, and since they knew I'd been waiting so long, Sherry graciously re-routed a technician to my house to get the job done as soon as possible.David arrived less than half an hour later, and was very understanding and helpful with everything. He showed me how to tighten the gas fixture and flex hose he installed on my new stove, reminded me of the soap/water mixture test for leaks, as well as reminded me to make sure I mount the anti-tip safety bracket before the installation (we opted to install the stove ourselves to save on costs).I am overwhelmed by the courtesy, value, and professionalism A1 Sewer and Drain has provided, and my husband and I will definitely be using them for all our future plumbing needs! They have definitely earned their 5 stars!*INITIAL REVIEW*Robin of Truck 37 came out to give us a free quote on converting our electric stove to gas, by running a new gas line for us. He was very friendly and answered any and all questions I had about the process.My husband and I wanted to shop around for the best price on this project, and sure enough A-1 was the cheapest out of three different companies. We will definitely be using them to complete the project. I am only deducting one star (although I wish it was half) because he was about 15 minutes late to our appointed time, when he told us that traffic was not an issue.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had them come out 3 months ago because the main water line to my house burst. It was an emergency that I had to wait half a week before they started. They had to dig a trench through my yard and under my walkway to put in the new line. They also had to break the concrete under my water heater. After they finished, they filled in the trench and the backfill is awful. The ground has large uneven areas where rain puddles, the area the they dug up is so soft you sink into if you walk on it, and there is still a whole that goes under my walkway that you can see daylight through. My water heater is leaning cause the concrete they replaced isn't near level. I brought up the issues with the gentlemen doing the work and he said, Its nothing more than an eyesore and we just do things to a rough grade. When I told him that was the issue, he said he could fix it, but they would have to charge me more money. They also left all of the broken concrete and other debris at my house for which I had to call multiple times for them to pick up. While they were digging they also cut a power line to the street light on my corner. I've been calling them for 3 months about the street light and they only tell me that they will call me back. They have not called me back once. I have to call them every week to find out any information. Today I called to check again and they told me it was not their problem to deal with and I will have to be the one to get the city to fix their mistake. They seemed to only half care about me as a customer while they were doing the job, and once I paid them, they completely stopped caring about me as a customer.

Christopher was very professional and communicated every part of the process from his arrival time to work he was doing, with great patience. His experience and knowledge about what exactly was the problem helped eased my concerns about the problem at hand. He went above expectations by addressing an ongoing issue with another toilet that was not on the current work order and explained what may have been the cause.He ensured I knew exactly what I was paying for and was Efficient with his time. A fact I greatly appreciated considering all plumbing services charge a flat fee per hour, minus parts and labor.My boys made an appearance (as they do when a new person shows up in the home) and he was really kind and engaging to both of them.He informed me that services were guaranteed for up to 90 days which was also another relief. I have two small boys who use the bathrooms as their personal offices at times.I would ABSOLUTELY use their services again and would probably request Christopher in particular due to his professionalism and efficiency.Highly recommend this company!

They are a very busy company. The plumber got tied up with a previous job, but their supervisor came to my house and started the job for them. How many supervisors do that? Not many or none at all. That impressed me. The plumber arrived and completed the work. I give them 5 stars. I have had a horrible experience with my previous plumbers. A1 has restored my confidence back to the plumbing companies. Thank You Jesus.

10/10 would recommend! I called them up frantically about my washer drain pipe overfilling and spraying out water, they responded and came down the same day. Turns out my house being older had some very old piping. We just bought a new washer and the pipe couldn’t handle the water pressure. They ended up having to replace all the pipes under the house except for the sewer line because that’s another can of worms. They came back within 2 days, made the repairs all same day and had me ready to go so I could do laundry in no time! I had been without it for nearly 2 weeks. We were going to go through our home warranty but the company they sent was taking too long to respond. They were great, fast, professional, very responsive and efficient! It’s been a week and we’re still doing good! Also the explanation of everything was fantastic and they show you what is wrong before and after!

From the first call to A1 to the technician in our home, we were greeted by friendly professional people who obviously take pride in what they do. A1 answered immediately early on a Saturday morning when we were without water. We had a technician (David H.) onsite within the hour. David was extremely professional and knowledgeable of the issues we were dealing with and how to repair quickly to restore water.I would give 10 stars if possible. I hope to not need A1 any time soon but would highly recommend them to anyone for any of their services! Hands down best company/employees I've dealt with in a long time.

Had no hot water due to faulty temperature sensor in my water heater controller. The good: A1 Sewer and Drain had fixed it. The bad: it took them a week and a half to do it, which for us meant a week and a half taking showers at the gym, instead of at home. The water tank controller has a diagnostic LED and very clear instructions on how many LED flashes correspond to each controller fault. According to the instructions the number of flashes indicated that there was a faulty temperature sensor, but the thermostat was okay. The first A1 tech had come on Monday, said that they cleaned the sensor and promised that there we would have hot water within an hour. That didn't work. So had to call A1 the next day and ask them to order a new controller and to make an appointment to install it 4 days later, when the controller was supposed to have arrived. On the day of the install, Saturday, they called in to say that they ordered a wrong controller. But apparently the only person who could order a new controller had the weekend off and would be back on Monday, next week. On Monday I called them back and they said that the person in charge of ordering the part will only be back the next day, on Tuesday. On Tuesday they called me back and they said that the correct controller and the guys to install it will be there two days later. Not really sure why it took 3 extra days to fix the first incorrect order. The controller was installed on Thursday, a week and half after our first call to A1. We have hot water now, but the experience was really disappointing. Apart from one failed attempt to fix the problem and the incorrect order, this took way too long, and there was sense of urgency on A1's part, even though I had told them repeatedly that we had no hot water.

Highly recommend this company. The technician, Chandler Cobb, who did the work at my Mom’s home was timely, professional, neat and exceptionally competent. Will definitely use this company for all future plumbing needs and highly recommend to others. Sue Gonser

Nick was awesome! Showed up early, got right to the root of the situation, shared some advice for some other questions we had. We learned some things that will help us out in the future as well. He was down to earth, really nice, and let me tell am I relieved to get my dishwasher, sink, and washer back. All the reviews I read rang true and im so glad I called. Getting a new faucet and will be calling them again to help us get it installed.

So I called A1 out to clear a clog in my main line. Initially the service was a catastrophe. The initial service tech made some big expensive boo boos. But I don’t want to make this post about that. I am super impressed by the response and care given to my home by the staff of A1. They accepted the mistakes and rectified them fully. Very honorable and professional. Received their services regarding a hot water issue. During our service we had a total of three techs come out.We first called and had them come out to diagnose it. The first tech told us that the water heater was receiving power and that it was either the element or the tank itself, but there was no way to test the elements and it would be a 50-50 shot if we replaced them. He quoted this at $400. if we wanted to replace the whole tank, it would be $2,000. I wanted to check to make sure that the tank was under warranty so I called My warrant company to figure it out what they could do. The next day we had another A1 Sewer and Drain technician come out because we needed to know the exact part that was malfunctioning to receive the warranty replacement. This technician told us that we actually can check the elements and he noted that they were good so it must be the tank that has an issue. We contacted the warranty company and received a new tank. $850 later we have a whole new hot water heater installed (took like 45 minutes I'm not sure why it cost that much but okay). After about four hours with the new heater we still were not receiving hot water… we had the third tech come back to check... ONLY TO TELL US THIS WHOLE TIME THE WATER HEATER WAS NOT RECIEVING POWER. When I finally went into the junction box it was discovered the wires that directed power to the water heater were complete detached and capped off. So it never was receiving power in the first place. I'm now out over $1,000 all because several techs said the unit was receiving power. I'm feel completely swindled out of money because we never needed the replacement in the first place and they charged a rediculous amount for a couple wires and two hoses. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!

We had a hot water heater problem and David came to our home. He was friendly, polite and very confident. The company was very prompt as well! We got seen just a few hours after calling and the plumber was right on schedule. We will definitely use them again!

Todd was on time and very professional. He was very knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem with our water heater, both elements were bad. We went almost ten days without hot water so that was a major relief. We thought we would need a new water heater all together. He even gave us advice on how to fix our water pressure problem in one of our bathrooms. I can't thank A1 Sewer and Drain enough. I highly recommend this company. You won't regret it.UPDATE: 10/11/20Once again A-1 knocked it out of the park. We had 2 toilets clog and sewage back up into the bathtub at around 11pm. I really appreciate A-1 sending a text with the photo of the plumber that would arrive since it was a late night service request.Greg showed up at about 11:30 and got straight to work. He unclogged the outdoor drain lines and then came in to snake the tub. He wore appropriate PPE and his booties. He was friendly and professional. By about 12:30 we had 2 working toilets and an unclogged bathtub. I love this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants fast and efficient professionals. Thanks again!

I called A-1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing & Water Heaters to flush and clean my water heater also to replace my water heaters supply line due to the flexible rubber hose breaking down causing black disintegrating rubber in my water.Patrick was very professional and I was amazed how fast he completed the job. He did a great job and highly recommended him and the company!The company had a very reasonable price and was very good with their communication as far as keeping me up to date and booking my appointment in a timely manner.It’s very difficult to find a plumbing company that’s reliable, honest and has fast service. The plumber who came recently could have been more honest with my wife when he came. We asked for an anti siphon valve, assuming we would get a whole new spigot installed. What he did was install a screw on piece that I could have done myself. I need a plumber that can be honest about what kind of work is needed by a plumber and what clearly doesn’t. This should have been part of the initial consultation. $250 bucks for $20 of screw on parts- that’s insane.Edit:The management reached out and offered some concession. They were really nice and it was evident that they care about their customers. For full transparency, the work that was done, was done well. The underlying issue is that the work needed was a small piece we could have installed ourselves, and it was not communicated to us, and then we were charged an arm and a leg for the repair. We felt taken advantage of in the moment. However, we do appreciate businesses that care and it’s evident this one is one of them. We’re still out $250 for a $20 piece of work, but it is what it is.

Replacing main water line - Job started slow due to faulty equipment and waiting clearance from Miss Utility. Work was completed in 3 days. However, the company failed to request city permits until the day after they had completed the work. My yard now has 4 large holes that can't be touched until (1) permit is approved by the City which is about 5 business days and (2) waiting for an inspector after the permit is approved which is 2 more business days. Their crew doing the job were great. However, their office staff dropping the ball on calling Miss Utility and filing for permits is totally inexcusable.

Company was communicative from start to finish. At booking they gave me an hourly rate. Fixed leaking jacuzzi tub and kitchen sink, installed new bath sink and faucet. Zach was knowledgeable and efficient. Would use them again.

So my original experience with A1 was good, that is until I realized I had the same problem 5 days later(backed up main line from my upstairs). I called and was told I would be under warranty because it was the same issue. The technician I received was polite and tried his best but did not have the proper tools with him to fix the problem. In addition I was told the original issue was documented differently in the company's records even though it was the same issue, and that another technician will be there the following day but is not under warranty and that I would have to pay. I was beyond frustrated at this point and honestly wanted to go with a different company. I decided to stick with A1 because it was already scheduled. I got Pat B. On site he was polite, communicated well, asked all the necessary questions and was on his way. He cleared out my line and in addition made sure the documentation was correct. I felt he was honest and a hard worker. Hopefully I don't have issues in the future, but in the event that I do, I would go with A1 again and specifically ask for Pat B to save the headache.

I called A-1 at 1000 this morning, technician Mike arrived at 1200. In 2.5 hours he installed three water shutoff valves and flex hoses for two toilets and a sink, and also rebuilt and reinstalled two 70 year old toilets. The original 70 year old brass flushing valves on both toilets were corroded solid to the tank, but Mike worked with care, and was able to remove both, saving my original-to-the-house, color coordinated 1955 porcelain toilets. I was thrilled, thought it couldn't be done without breaking the porcelain. He also had to saw-off one corroded bolt. Mike worked efficiently and clearly is an expert in his field. Thank you, Mike!!

I highly recommend this business, Josh came to our house on a Sunday when we had a clog and fixed us right up. Very happy with his professionalism.

I did not like the fact that I had to “request” a breakdown of their $1400 estimate. Also most companies will subtract the service call fee if you have them complete the work. A1 offered a $100 coupon “IF” I scheduled the service for the next day. That is barely half of their $195 service fee. Nevertheless, the service rep, Pat B., was very professional. He was actually more professional than than the office staff.

I had Ryan Stephens as my plumber. He was on time, stepped through the door and went straight to work. Extremely knowledgeable, down to earth. I wasn't able to complete my project today, but I'm definitely going to reach out and give them a call again when I'm ready to get it finished.

A-1 responded within 24 hours. They tried to unclog master bathroom drain, but snake hit corroded collapsed 50 year old pipe. They offered to replace the under house pipes, only the pipes causing trouble now. Other companies tried to get us to replace all pipes under house and it was very expensive. We could afford what A-1 did. Great job. Thank you very much. Very knowledgeable workmen and very polite.

Antoine was awesome! A1 got him out to me the following day after I had a slight plumbing emergency (clog that overflowed the toilet) which was amazing! They worked nicely around my work schedule :) As for Antoine himself - he was amazing, worked super quickly and efficiently and gave some super helpful advice. I highly recommend this plumbing company. The office responded to my appointment request immediately. The lady scheduled an appointment for the same day and told me how much the visit would be based on my description of the plumbing issue. She called me during the day to let me know the plumbers were running behind and the plumbers called me when they were on their way. When David and Mike arrived, they put shoe protectors on to walk in our home. They quickly identified the problem and took care of it. While they were doing the work, Mike asked about a separate issue and took care of it also. When they were done doing all the work, David came inside and explained what had caused the initial issue. He gave me some recommendations on how I could prevent it from happening again. He also explained what was causing the second issue. Both David and Mike were very knowledgeable and professional. I felt very comfortable having them in our home. When I scheduled the appointment the office confirmed that both of them had background checks. I will call this company again in the future for any plumbing issues and will ask for David and Mike in particular.

I chose A1 to reroute a burst hot water pipe and they ran a new line through the attic for me. The tech forgot to install a new valve behind the shower per the instructions but the company came to correct it within a couple of days which I appreciated. They also replaced a few other valves for me on the second visit at my request.There is no longer a leak but I am knocking down my review a star is because of the number of push fittings used in the installation. I have been told that those types of fittings are not as reliable as traditional fittings and should not be used inside walls.

Update: Increased from 3 to 4 Stars. The Superintendent figured out pretty quickly what had gone wrong, ordered the replacement part, and got the dishwasher up and running again. We appreciate their willingness to make things right, and will absolutely use them again.Update: Increased from 1 to 3 stars. The Superintendent did come out and he was much MUCH nicer. He is going to try to help us fix the dishwasher, so this review could be changed again, depending on the outcome.My husband and I bought a new fridge, and we had to have a water line run to it in order to use the ice maker and water features. They didn't ask us any questions to determine if they would need to bring anything with them, but gave us a quote, and assured us the job was less than 1 hour from start to finish. They showed up fairly early in the window, and then told us they had to go buy another part. We were charged for the time they were gone not actually working on my water line, and took much longer than the 1 hour we were quoted. One of the two techs was incredibly rude, and yelled loudly each time he turned around and saw our cat. At no point did my cat attempt to go near him, nor did the tech ask us to secure him (which we would have done had we been made aware there was an issue).In order to complete the work, the techs asked to pull my dishwasher out. We agreed (I mean, we were paying them to do a job, and this was a very reasonable request). When they finished, they put it back, but in doing so, they broke it. The dishwasher was not screwed into the counter, and had not been since we purchased it at the recommendation of the appliance store delivery and installation tech. The techs who were installing our waterline for the fridge not only screwed it into my counter, they did so in such a way that left the bottom of it raised off the ground between 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, and sticking out almost 2 inches. The door wouldn't close properly when it was in that position, and it wouldn't turn on. My husband was able to get the door to close after unscrewing it from the counter, but it still wouldn't run. This was only hours after they had left, so we called them back, and the customer service representative was very polite. She sympathized with our situation, and very quickly set up a new appointment for the next day.The same, rude tech came out, and he had an even worse attitude from the get go. He continued to blame us, saying that we gave him permission to move the dishwasher, and that he didn't do anything wrong. My husband asked him to pack up and leave be ause he was no longer welcome in our home, and advised him that once he was gone, my husband would be calling the techs supervisor. The supervisor wasn't available, so we were told that they would get back to us within 24 hours. We believed we were being brushed off. Not long after that, maybe 45 minutes to 1 hour, we got a call back telling us that the Superintendent wanted to come out and look for himself. We weren't given a window of time to expect him. No, we were given a set time. That time has come and gone, and we had no word from him or the company. When my husband called to find out what was going on, again the Superintendent was not available. On top of that there was no record of our appointment or visit.

After an inspector found water under my house I tried to turn off the water to my house and the cutoff valve broke off in my hand. I called A1 Sewer & Drain and the plumber was very knowledgeable and professional. He isolated the leak to two valves in the wall and quickly made repairs, he then repaired leaks in the bathtub handles. I also had a leak on a toilet and he fixed the leaky cutoff and just replaced the toilet because it was really old and in disrepair.He also showed me how to cut off water at the street, and showed me how to tell if there is a leak in the house by watching the water meter (so I don't have to crawl under the house again).The plumber was just a really nice person, very knowledgeable, gave me advice about future projects I wanted done to the house. This is the second time I have used this company. I used them several years ago when the water pipe in my front yard broke open and flooded my front yard. They did a really good job on that repair also. I definitely feel like I was charged a reasonable price on both repair jobs. In my experience this is a very reliable and trustworthy company and I will definitely be using them for any future repairs.

Our hot water heater was no longer giving us hot water. I called on a Monday and they were able to come Tuesday morning. They quoted us to fix it and also quoted us a new one. We decided on a new one. They were very patient with us while we called back and forth to decide what to do (since I was at work while my fiancé was home). They got our water heater replaced the same day! Highly recommend!

A1 Septic and Drain Plumbing is top tier in my book. I had to employ them to go behind a previous company (Central Plumbing who I will never use again) to get me hot water. They sent out a technician (Pat B) the same day. Pat B went through a series of steps to identify the issue. He even made me aware that servicing the tankless heater that I have, was not his area of expertise. I already knew I had the right company for the job. He set me up with a technician that was familiar with the tankless heat the very next day. Now, Pat G and Chris D, we on it from the beginning. They did their part and went above and beyond to ensure that my system get fixed. They noticed that the filter in my system was clogged, which also mean that the plumber from Central Plumbing should have noticed and cleaned if he did his job correctly from the jump. Anyway, the part is on its way and A1 Septic technicians have saved me money and getting me hot water without purchasing a new system. Top Tier company with Top Tier staff.

So I wanted to share my experience with A-1 Plumbing to warn people about how disappointing my service was. So I made my appointment to get my tankless hot water heater serviced. When the tech called I requested that he call me when he made it to my house because I have a cat that needs to be put away and an old dog that goes nuts when you knock on my door. About 20 minutes later, he knocks on my door. Off to a great start. I let him know my tankless hot water heater isn't staying on. You turn it on, it works till you stop using it then it doesn't turn back on. The tech goes up to take a look, takes some pictures, turns on the hot water, does his thing then says he's gonna go out to give me an estimate. The estimate he emails me says nothing about a tankless system and just has a replacement tanked system. I told him I needed to get my partner's opinion, he said that's fine and that I owe $195 just for him to come out there. Fine, whatever, I pay it. My partner and I decided to get a second opinion. In the meantime, A1 calls me to see where we want to go from here and if I have any questions. I asked why there's nothing about the tankless system on my estimate. The lady who called seemed confused and said there was nothing in my file about a problem with the tankless system and that she would call a supervisor about my issues. About 2 hours later, the supervisor calls and says she can give me an estimate to replace the tankless system. I tell her no thanks, we are going with a different company. She then tells me if we go with their company my $195 I paid would go towards the price of the replacement system. I tell her no thank you again. So the next day I get a call from A1 asking when I want to move forward with my replacement tankless and tanked system! Like, WHAT?! I told her no thank you, we are going with a different company. I've now gotten texts and emails asking about my experience, so here ya go! DO NOT use A1 for any services!

When we called to get a quote for a broken drain pipe in our slab, A-1 had a gentleman (Andy) out first thing in the morning the next business day. Andy thoroughly explained how the job would be handled and what to expect should things be worse than a single pipe failure. As this is something I've never dealt with before, I had a million questions and Andy had no qualms answering each one. Within an hour, he emailed two quotes - a best case and worst case with a full breakdown of what each entailed. Thanks to Andy, I felt reassured and comfortable with the project and estimated timeline for repair.As for the work, Arty and his team member were absolutely incredible. Efficient, professional, and personable. Despite no plumbing schematics being available, Arty was able to quickly find a starting point that didn't involve unnecessary concrete removal. Throughout the process, they kept me updated on what they found and what their next steps were. They even gave me a heads up before starting the jackhammer so I could put on hearing protection which was SUPER appreciated. The repair took all of 3 days.It's one thing to just come in and fix a semi-major plumbing problem. What made A-1 shine bright were the personalities of each individual involved in the planning and follow-through. And for that, I will write paragraphs of praise and recommend them to everyone in need of a repair.

We called A1 because of the great reputation they had. The first plumber who came out was really nice and respectful and we liked him but he had trouble with the replacement of our garbage disposal. What should have only taken an hour took about 3 hours. However, with guidance from his Supervisor by phone, he was able to finish the installation and we were not charged for the extra 2 hours.Fast forward a few hours later, we tried to wash our dishes using our dishwasher and learned that our dishwasher was not using any water. Because of this, one of the plastic utensils in the dishwasher that fell inside was burned by the heating element of the dishwasher and caused smelly burnt plastic smoke to fill the entire first floor of our home. Our A1 plumber had forgotten to turn the water back on for the dishwasher. My 77-year old father had to crawl under the sink and had to turn the water back on himself. God bless him. He had a difficult time doing this but he got it done.We ran the dishwasher again but then learned that it was not draining. Dirty, stinky dishwater stayed in the bottom of that dishwasher for a couple of days until A1 Plumbing could come back to see what the problems were. I knew right away that the garbage disposal plug was probably not removed by the plumber. There was also leaking coming from a pipe attached to the garbage disposal.We called A1 back to let them know what happened and they scheduled a more experienced plumber to come out and essentially re-do everything the first plumber did. A1 stands behind their warranty which is the first reason why I am giving them 5 stars. Our plumber Pat, the one who fixed everything, did an outstanding job. He is the 2nd reason we are giving A1 5 stars. Pat was very efficient, knowledgeable, respectful and prepared. He is someone we will request should we need any more plumbing projects completed in our home. We highly recommend A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing because our initial experience could have turned us into disappointed customers but instead we were won over by the amazing customer service we received. We also appreciated the pricing of your service because it is a fair price and quite competitive in this market as I received quotes from 2 other companies prior to choosing A1. Thank you for that. We will be sure to use A1 Sewer & Drain again in the future.

We smelled a gas leak outside by the meter that Virginia Natural Gas replaced last week. The gas company guy came out and identified two leaks in the piping outside by the meter, but said that part of the piping was ours. He had to shut off the gas and put a lock on the meter and we had to call a plumber to fix the pipes, then the gas company would come back out.It was 8:30 at night, temps were near freezing, and we have a gas furnace, so I called A-1 since they provide emergency services.An hour later the A-1 guy showed up. I showed him where the leaks were at (there were still foam bubbles from the gas company testing). He immediately said they didn’t carry that size pipe in the truck. He said he was sorry but he had to charge me the $295 emergency service fee for the first hour. He was there for maybe a total of 5 minutes, most of which was spent charging my credit card.It’s 10:13 pm now, supposedly A-1 will call me tomorrow and let me know when someone can come out (with the correct size pipe in the truck?).So I paid $295 to be told they couldn’t fix it and wait until ??? for them to come back.We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.

Patrick was great! He was very knowledgeable about fixing a gas leak in an outside line. Took about 30 minutes and the problem was solved. We would definitely call them again.

We had are kitchen remodeled and the contractor plumbed the new sink in . We noticed it gurgling and knew this was not plumbed correctly so we called A-! Sewer & Drain to re-plumb the new sink. Jeromy was very cordial easy to talk with right away. He was professional and reassuring the job would be done correctly. He re-plumbed the sink correctly. I could look at it and knew it was done correctly as opposed to the way the contractor had done the job.

My experience with this A-1 company was outstanding from start to finish. Beginning with the initial phone call with Jessica who was polite, engaging, professional, knowledgeable, and convincing, to the actual installation of a new water heater later that same day. Leslie Vinson, the technician who installed the appliance all by himself, was likewise efficient, professional, patient, and a very pleasant individual to do business with. Everyone at A1 was professional and courteous. From the phone call to make the appointment to the individual who texted about the appointment, through the plumber, I was very pleased with the service from each person. Pricing was as told to me over the phone and I got good service for the price. In addition, the plumber who came was so professional and knowledgeable that he immediately made me comfortable that whatever problem he found, he would be able to fix. He was kind and patient in explaining what he found about the leak, as well as what he would do to repair it. It is not always comfortable having folks come to the house to make repairs but I felt comfortable with this gentleman. Highly satisfied, I plan on using A1 for all my plumbing needs.

The initial experience was great. Even the receptionist that took my call was very friendly and attentive. They sent a plumber, Chase out the very next day each time I called. He seemed knowledgeable and kept me updated as he was going. He did not give me unreasonable expectation and was truthful about what he would have to fix and how he would have to do it. He was on time and courteous of my time. He was proficient to locate the problems, he made every effort to correct it the most efficient and clean way. He gave his expert opinions and took his time to check his work. He showed me where the issue was and answered all my questions. I had my 50 gallon water heater replaced. The techs were great and did a clean job. The only issue was that the receptionist didn't ask me to measure my water heater height so I said it was around 4 or 5 feet tall. The techs given a 4 ft and it wouldn't fit so they returned early the next morning and took care of business.

I called A1 Sewer & Drain frantic on a Friday morning because a pipe was leaking in my crawlspace. I found their contact information through Thumbtack, and gave them a call right away. From my first interaction with their scheduling staff, I was reassured that they would be able to come fix my problem, and that they would be able to come that day (some other companies that I also contacted would not be able to come until the next week, of course unless I wanted them to come for an emergency appointment and charge me an arm and a leg to do so). The technician who helped with my problem, Zach, was very professional and extremely knowledgeable! He walked me through every step of the process, and pointed out some things that may need my attention in the future. As a first time homeowner, having situations like a burst pipe cause a lot of stress and worry. I had requested an estimate for repair to my well system and after paying the $200 evaluation fee. I was given a quote for $1500. After two cancellations they arrived at my house and added an additional $1800 to the quote. The technicians (who were new to the job) could not explain the change in costs or provide any transparency. I had to start over

We found out that our insurance would not cover the problem and after 4 plumbers came, gave an estimate, and suggested or next step, then NEVER responded... We contacted A-1.Jeremy came out, did his thing, found the leak, bypassed the main same backflowed the house and made it possible to clean our house, take showers, and use our own toilets.We have a long road ahead to a full repair, but are eager to work with A-1 moving forward.Oh, and by the way, our leak detection cost half the price of American Leak Detection. Technician who came (Patrick G.) was a cool dude. Showed up on time, was knowledgeable and tried several things to fix my issue. Although there was no fix for it that was cost worthy for me I was able to get the reason for what was the issue and was able to use his expert evaluation and diagnosis to find out what the problem was.It was 190$ for the hour he was here to do his assessment and would have cost me about 900$ for him to fix it but I went the route of getting the part I needed for 99$ and fixing it myself. He is a valuable technician and had an apprentice with him. Heard him coaching and advising his apprentice and allowing him to go through the process as well. No doubt that he will train him well and you will have another excellent technician.

I was lost had no idea what to do next. They swooped in and cleared the pipes. But also gave me the peace of mind that I had the next clear step in my issue. Sometimes even tho it was the solution he had the knowledge and full to speak up on my next step. More people like these fine men and women needed!

They are certainly transparent about cost, and the technician I met with was prompt and polite.Now to the negative: I called because my tankless water heater is installed improperly, causing some inconsistency in it's operation. I was already aware that the problem was electrical, and I said as much on the phone AND to the technician. I also said that what I wanted (I said this several times) was to get the system that is currently in place up to speed if at all possible. I was told that I would have to have it re-wired, and have my breaker panel modified (it IS possible to fix the one I already have).$170 later, I have a quote for a whole new larger system, installed. The price quoted to me is the highest end of average, according to another company I have called, and it is for the larger system, which I also said I am not interested in. I feel like they could have at least saved me the trouble by asking for a model number and pictures, which is all that the technician did the day of his visit. I had to actually call them 2 days later to get my quote sent to me, because they forgot to send it.When I reiterated the course of action I'm interested in on the phone, all they wanted to do is repeat the reasons for their recommendation, without allowing me any say in the cost-benefit decision of which option fits my needs (I do not need a larger system: I am in a one story home less than 2k sq feet, and even the improperly installed system I currently have fits my needs, it just has quirks).I don't think it's intentional deception, just maybe too large a business to put much thought or energy into actual customer care or relation.

Called on a Monday and the estimator came onTuesday and by 5p.m. the installation appointment was made for the next day. There wasn't a fee for the estimate. Don't be fooled! When you call for information or to schedule an appointment, their customer service is great, but if you have any issues/complaints, the customer service quickly goes down hill. The work done was good, although everything wasn't discussed prior to the work being done. When we had an issue with the billing, everyone from the owner, Jimmy, to the office manager, Candice and Cindy were all rude. I have never been talked to so negatively and from so many people at one company. I can honestly say they do not value customer service AT ALL. If you want to risk everything being done with no issues, then give them a call but if anything can possibly go wrong, don't expect them to be nice enough to fix/solve it. *If you don't believe me, sort the ratings by lowest score, you'll see for yourself how the owner handles his customers.*

We called A1 Plumbing out of the blue because they offered same day emergency service. We had a sewer blockage that needed same day attention. A1 Plumbing arrived just a few hours after calling for service. Chandler Cobb was our plumber, and he knew exactly what to do the moment he arrived. Main Sewer drain was clogged up. I called Michelle at 8am this morning she was very friendly and she told me she could have someone here by 10am!! I said great the other company the landlord wanted to use told me 2 days. When I say they went above and beyond at about 915 Nick calls me and says I will be there in 5 minutes!! So recently we had plumbing issues at our place of business Corey Jones State Farm and they have come out to “fix the problem” and everytime they have had to come back out. This is a place of business and we still can’t use our bathrooms. I have tried speaking with the manager but he is either in a meeting or out of the office unresponsive. So my business is suffering because they can’t fix the issue. I don’t know what else to do and still need bathrooms done. I don’t like to use these measures but it feels like we are being ignored.

We called A1 due to an unexpected emergency with a hose on the water heater. Pat B. came out and repaired it. He was super quick, knowledgable and professional. We called at 12:56 PM and Pat B. called to let us know he was on his way at 1:19 PM. He was done by 2 PM. The price was good/reasonable considering it was during emergency hours on a Sunday. We will use them again in the future if we are in need of their services. I highly recommend A1!

I have been using A-1 for many years. The first time I had to use them was to replace my Hot Water tank 13 years ago. Since then had to call a few times for various pipe leaks on the tank. Bert has come out these last couple of times and is always very professional, friendly, and efficient. Will continue to use them as I have been.

I am so frustrated. We have had these guys out twice to fix a mysterious issue with a toilet that bubbles. They were late to both of these appointments. Not a little late, HOURS late. We did some stuff on our own and did some more research to try to find out why after two visits it’s still bubbling. There is a vent pipe on the roof that is likely clogged. I call back for the THIRD TIME. They schedule me for 2-5. I get a call at 3 telling me they won’t be here until 6 or 7 pm. I get a call at 5pm telling me, sorry, they aren’t coming because it rained at our office and we can’t go on your roof.I said, “My roof is dry. It didn’t rain here.” So they tell me, well it doesn’t matter because it rained here and so we already sent the guys home.I asked if they could come back very first thing in the AM to fix the issue and I am told, we can have them there between 9 and noon, but it could be later depending on how long their first job goes.....this is crazy! I am 100% going with another company. Nobody was able to recommend anything that actually solved our issue in our first two visits, which we paid plenty for. We had to be detectives to try to figure out our plumbing issue even though we aren’t plumbers and you are incredibly unreliable!

When our hot water heater died I called A 1.and was told they could be out to replace it in the morning i was so relieved. Leslie was the technician that did the job. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. The old unit was taken away and the new one set up, filled and started. Very nice quality unit with a great warranty. I highly recommend A 1.

A few days after settling into my new house, I came downstairs to see my living room flooded. Immediately called A-1 and Justin came to take care of us. Checked out reviews for A1 and made an appointment. Logan came earlier than expected but that was not an issue. He promptly found the leak in the wall coming from my tankless water heater. He repaired it, checked it out to make sure everything was repaired properly, cleaned up and was done within an hour. He was very very personable, very funny, and I enjoyed talking with him. If you want an experienced plumber with a reputable company go with Logan at A1 sewer and plumbing in Virginia Beach. Great service!

Called for suspected partial block of the pipe in toilet. (Large bubbles forming in bowel). Did not have right size snake. Then diagnosed problems in tank replacing parts. We had the same problem plus the tank started leaking. When we called back to report the same problem with the new leak... we were told we'd have to pay another service call fee.We called Atomic.

A-1 sent Christopher Boyd on the same day I called. He arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed the problem and did the necessary repair to restore both pressure and hot water. Gregory S. Was the tech who came to unclog the main line from my house to the city sewer line. He made quick work of it, cleaned up neatly and was courteous, professional and informative. He took the time to explain why I had the problem and what I could do to avoid problems like that in the future. Greg explained the pricing which was reasonable and I felt like i was being looked out for. No business is any good if the people are not great and Greg is great, so my experience with A1 was great.

The service person, Justin did not do a proper analysis and review of our sewer issue that cause backup problems within our home. He briefly went under the house, left our enclosed crawl space door open, then made an assumption that our sewer line was in the front of the house without dropping a camera through sewer vent pipes. He broke our porch post lights and dig up a little in our front yard to try to find our sewer line. He then made an assumption and said that they would have to tear up our front yard, our sidewalk and possibly our fro porch railings and only patch it up. They gave an estimate of the work that included excavation that was 3.5 times more than the average price of a two-way clean out. He left without doing the work of clearing out our sewer line blockage that made using my of our bathrooms in the house. I immediately called another company and they gave us details of how they would review the issue. They unblocked our line and came back to do an extensive review and found our sewer line went to the rear of the house and not the front. Really disappointed.

We had great service from A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing. Our water heater burst overnight and they were very responsive to the situation. We were able to stop the water leak overnight so our dispatched technician, Mike Smith, arrived on time to our appointment the next morning. He assessed the situation and reviewed with me what had to be done. Because the job was in a difficult area, a second technician was dispatched (cannot recall his name) and both were professional and courteous. Job was completed quickly. I would recommend using A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing for your plumbing needs. You will be impressed like we were.

I have used A1 Sewer & Drain twice and both time I have been very pleased with quality of work provided. Th last time was April 19, 2022. The A1 Sewer & Drain service technician was courteous and respectful and presented a very friendly approach for his work. The work performed was completed within a reasonable, timely fashion. The price quoted was reasonable and fair and the service technician did not attempt to add on extra time. In general, I was very pleased with A1 Sewer & Drain and I will be using the company again in the near future.

The guy came was very nice! When I called for an emergency, they came really fast to repair and find an issue w my toilet backed up.I gave a low rate because they said roots is the caused so I hired another plumber to take a look at and ask for a quote, trying to compare the price to this company. Then.... the guy literally showed me a camera there's no roots or anything else in the pipe... so if I didn't hire someone else and I will be so scammed out of this company. 😔

My only issue is they gave me assurance and made me feel confident that the issue was fixed. It was not, not even three days later the issue is worse than it was originally.

I called A1 Sewer & Drain for problems with my hot water heater. From start to finish, every interaction with them – whether by phone or in person – every interaction was friendly, courteous and professional. A two-man team, headed by Buck, arrived at my door right on schedule. Due to the pandemic, they wore face masks and shoe coverings and maintained appropriate physical distancing. I knew in advance that my old water tank would need to be replaced and they came prepared with a new tank. After examining the old tank, they noted a couple of issues that were not up to code. They immediately informed me, explained what needed to be done and what the costs would be then requested my approval for proceeding. I especially liked the fact that they kept me well-informed throughout the process. They worked diligently, efficiently and answered every one of my questions. Their problem-solving skills were impressive and their work was excellent. Before leaving they carefully cleaned the area where they had been. Buck and his partner were respectful, informative and professional throughout the entire process. I received the invoice, as well as “before and after” photos via email – and all this before they had even left the driveway. I would (& will) highly recommend them to all my friends. If you’re looking for plumbing services, A1 Sewer & Drain are the people to call.

Quoted us over $2000 for a problem that another plumber fixed for less than $200.Maybe they misunderstood the problem, maybe they felt they could take advantage of us.Either way...doesn't build trust.Would recommend checking their quotes...or hey, maybe we were a one off and their prices are usually competitive.Now...the two guys that came were polite but I guess if you're looking to overcharge someone significantly ( > 10X) then you should probably kill them with kindness.Not saying they don't do good work as I'm sure they do based on their quotes. But sometimes an acceptable solution at an acceptable price is the best option, and that's what we found going elsewhere.

Leslie arrived on time and was a pleasure to talk to. Very down to earth and answered all the questions I had. He was able to discuss options on the spot and got me taken care of with the best option for me. Would highly recommend A-1 Sewer and Drain!

A-1 and Bert are angels sent down from heaven to help us lowly mortals when we are in peril. I thought I was a big strong man who could replace his own toilet. 2 hours and several disasters later, I had to call in the pros... They got someone to my house AND fixed my mess and installed a new toilet in less time than it took me to realize I needed a professional. ON A SUNDAY! Bert was a true pro amd even laughed at my dad jokes. A-1 also fixed my credit, lowered my cholesterol, and raised my low sperm count. They ruined all other plumbers for me. Would definitely recommend.

We had a QUEST plumbing issue which required Jeremy to cut into two walls in order to gain access to the house pipes. Jeremy and his assistant did a fantastic job of keeping the drywall intact, making my drywall repair job so much easier. Jeremy thoroughly explained exactly what needed to be done and was helpful in working through the options with me. He is very thorough in his work and the clean-up. I had no suprises. I originally scheduled a leak detection test to find the source of a floor leak on a slab, but the plumber (Jeremy Balmer) looked at the water meter and knew the test wasn't going to work.He proceeded to explore where the water was coming from and deduced that the source was probably the wet wall next to the bathroom. He opened up the dry wall and sure enough it was a pin hole leak that was draining on to the floor. He fixed it and gave me advice and references for water damage to the floor if I wanted to explore that option.All in all, very professional and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again as the price for repair was very fair. Again, thank you to Jeremy Balmer for the quick fix to what I thought would be a much costlier repair.

Joseph and Maurice were excellent! I just moved into my house and ended up with a very unexpected, large plumbing job ahead of me. A1 was quick to respond and talked me through the whole process. Joseph and Maurice were always respectful of my time and home. The job took several days and every day, they'd make sure to clean up after themselves. They did everything they could to make sure we were informed and comfortable during the whole process. I will absolutely use them again should I need more plumbing work.

Todd was my service man today and he was great! I have come to expect only the best when I have a tech come out! He isolated my problem and was professional with his explanation and was thorough. I do think they are pretty high priced for the first hour at $195 and I would like to see this price come down some especially for repeat customers but I understand it's the nature of the breast!Thank you A 1 for always having the best service techs!

We recieved great service from Zach M. on Saturday, May 22, 2021. The city came out the day before and checking the meter and found a leak in the pipe on our side. We were originally going to use a different company, but since they couldn't come out till the beginning of June we decided to call A1 (A1 had completed a job at my mom's home and she recommended them to us). We were scheduled between 8-11 (I think) and Zach arrived a bit earlier than stated, which I totally fine! Granted the leak was a small issue to fix, but he was able to complete the job quickly and professionally. I would totally recommend using A1 plumbers for any issue you have!

Jeremy was dispatched to unclog and fix our toilet last Sunday. I was amazed at the fact we could get same day service. Jeremy notified us when he was enrolled. He was professional, personable, and efficient. We were exceedingly pleased with him and his service. Also to his credit is he didn't freak out over my grandson's 14 foot snake in the habitat. Jeremy was our service technician who arrived on time as was stated and handled our issues promptly and professionally. We had a badly clogged kitchen sink as well as an issue with the hot water in our shower. He tackled both problems quickly taking the time to patiently explain what he was doing plus made recommendations for possible future tasks to improve the quality of plumbing in my older home. I was completely at ease with him and appreciated his courtesy in cleaning up after his work and wearing shoe covers to control tracked in dirt. We were honestly very impressed with this company. I took a bath in my jetted tub and water started pouring down in my downstairs pantry. We called A1 after 4 pm, expecting a huge bill for emergency service after business hours. Pat came out VERY fast, had everything checked and fixed in under an hour and we were only charged for one hour of labor which was a fraction of what we had expected to pay. He showed us everything and explained to us exactly what happened, and how to check for the issue in the future to avoid water damage. Pat even answered some random plumbing questions I had regarding our house and was very knowledgable in his explanations, especially since I know little about plumbing. I have recommended A1 to all of my friends in the area and will for sure be calling again!

I had someone at my house less than two hours after I called in my problem. Gregory was my tech and he was the most professional and courteous technician I have ever had experience with in my home. My piping under kitchen sink was replaced in 30 minutes with 0 leaks and he made sure to complete the job the most cost effective way saving me money. A1 has been out to our house several times, and each time they have been absolutely wonderful. Friendly, efficient, and they do a wonderful job. This is definitely a company that will go above and beyond for their customers. I recommend them whenever someone asks me if I know a good plumber. As an example, last year my brother came to stay with his wife and four kids including his two month old baby. His teenage son managed to block up the toilet at 2am (poor kid was so embarrassed), and we couldn’t get it cleared and called A1. Greg (love Greg he’s the best!) came out and quickly fixed everything, and did it all in whispers so not only did the baby sleep through the entire thing from twenty feet away, so did my brother and his wife! A1 Sewer & Drain plumber Pat Burns arrived on time today, taking steps to prevent compromise of our social distancing during the current pandemic. Pat is a polite, friendly man with a “can-do” attitude. His visit was pleasant and stress-free. He quickly cleared a difficult toilet clog, and easily repaired the flush mechanism in another toilet, which I’d been unable to fix. Our new condo came with undersized, under-height toilets that are very uncomfortable. Pat gave us a great price on installing 3 new full-sized Kohler toilets and hauling away our old ones. We’d expected to have to wait a year or more to afford this upgrade. We were also given a deep discount on today’s service call! Pat will be here Monday morning to install our new toilets. Awesome professional service. Leslie was dedicated in making sure that he corrected our plumbing issue with our sewer line that had cracked within our wall. We contracted A1 to install a water line for our new fridge. They arrived on time and did a great job with the installation. There was a small hiccup as my dishwasher door came unseated when it was moved, though we didn't know what was wrong at first. They came back out at no cost to us to fix the dishwasher and to make things right. We were extremely happy with how far they went to make sure we were happy. Despite the dishwasher issues, I would absolutely use this service again knowing they will make sure no matter what happens, we are happy with the end results.

David in truck #41 saved us, he came late cause our work schedules didn't allow us to be seen early, he came and replaced everything I messed up, plus everything we needed. Should be 0 stars!!! Just spent 525$ today for an A1 technician to replace the cartridge in my bathtub. Took him 3 hours .....as a novice ...2.5 hours of which it took him just to remove it. Oh but wait....it gets worse....when I started my shower at 11pm water started shooting out of the handle where he replaced the cartridge and when I turned the water off...it keeps coming out of the faucet. Unfortunately we don't have a shut off valve and I don't have a tool to shut it off at the main. Oh but wait...it gets worse...I call A1 and the on call technician is 2 hours away in North Carolina.....and he's going to charge me 235$ for an emergency call! I will be at there door when they open in the morning and then at the courthouse filing a small claims suit.

We have a commercial multi tenant property where the lines needed to be jetted. Brandon was the man for the job. He knew exactly what he needed to do and was extremely thorough and hands on until the job was completed. He explained the situation to us and answered every question we had while fixing the backed up lines. This was not an easy job snd Brandon handled it with knowledge and professionalism. I hired them to flush my tankless water heater, I felt their pricing was high but I was assured they did quality work. They did do a quality job and the service technician was informative. However I also needed to diagnose a problem with the water maintaining temperature during showers. The rate of $75 per half hour to diagnose and fix! I’m not sure if this is a regular rate for plumbers but I felt this was extremely high, especially when the technician was at my house for other services. Had that been the only service I needed and the technician wasn’t already at my home and that was the service fee, I might have understood.After the technician completed the flushed, I asked about the loss of temperature during showers and told him I had cleaned the igniters in attempt to fix the problem myself. He said that’s all he would have done and that combined with the flush should fix the problem. Unfortunately it did not but I am glad I didn’t pay the $75 per half hour to not fix the problem.

Our water supply line leading to our toilet burst and our spare bathroom was flooding with water. We called A1 at 11:30 am and their plumber was at out door at 12:30pm. Very professional and efficient. We will be using them again for our plumbing needs in the future.

We lost water on Christmas Day due to a broken pipe. We initially started out with another plumbing company that dug a hole and left me without water and said it would be a whole week to come back out. We had a gas smell coming from our gas stove and decided to give A-1 Sewer and Drain Plumbing a call. Their response was immediate and they had a technician come out the following day. I was given a window to be available, and the technician, Mike Smith, gave me a call to let me know he was enroute, which I appreciated. A short while later Mike called me again to let me know he was hung up in some traffic on the bridge but that he was still on his way. Shortly thereafter he arrived, introduced himself and set straight away to my issue. Throughout the entire interaction Mike was professional, courteous and polite. After he found and fixed my gas leak he answered my questions, ensured there was nothing else I needed before he left. In a day where true professionalism is hard to find, Mike was the exception to the standard. We will definitely be keeping A-1 on our list for the future.

Initially the A1 team thought they may need to cut into my wall to replace sink piping, but after closer inspection they found a way to make it a lot cleaner and easier. I'm happy with the work done, the professionalism of everyone involved and their willingness to explain every step of the project both before and after they've done it. Payment process was simple enough, and pricing is fair I believe. Customer service was helpful with scheduling. Installers were very good with my dog as well. Would recommend.

All of the work performed has been outstanding. Every plumber has been courteous, thorough, and explained what they've found at each step and possible paths forward. Could not recommend more. We were able to get an appointment for the very next day to install our gas stove after receiving quite the runaround from Lowes about installing the stove which was purchased through their website. Our appointment was scheduled for a 10am - 1pm window. At 10:15 I got a call from their office telling us that our technician was held up on another job and could we switch to a 2pm - 5pm window. Absolutely we could and appreciated their prompt communication with us. At 2:30 we received a call from our technician, Courtland, telling us he would be here at 3:45pm. He arrived at 3:45pm on the dot!Courtland was knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, and a joy to work with. He also did all of this while making the trip up to Richmond late on a Friday afternoon. We called A1 plumbing because of a hot water heater issue back in February at one of our restaurants. At that time we needed to replace it completely. A1 was efficient and responsive so that our daily operations were not impacted by this issue. Fast forward to this week (June 22). The same water heater they replaced in February needed to be replaced again! They came back out, assessed the situation in a timely manner and was able to diagnose the issue quickly. A replacement hater water was installed the very next day and we were credited for the one they put in a few months back. Good business all around. We will use them again for sure!

Excellent overall service! The team that came out were professional and caring. They made sure I understood what was the root cause of my issues and gave me multiple solutions all while not making me feel like I’m getting talked to like a child. Definitely going to use this company again if I ever have any other issues.

Had to knock it down from 5 stars. To be honest, I'm extremely disappointed in their restoration of my lawn after completion of the project. I fully expected A1 to restore my front yard to the same condition it was in prior to them digging up my yard. My wife had to call them back to fill in the potholes in the ground. A1 came out, threw some straw and seed on the ground and that was it. How is that supposed to fill in the holes? Months later we still have areas where it can be ankle deep. We have to warn delivery drivers to be careful on our lawn or they will twist their ankle. Piss poor restoration. I will say this, if someone does hurt themselves, I'll be sure they sue A1 as they have been warned already about this issue.

I contacted them to locate and unclog a leak and my drains for my home. They charge by the hour so they told me they were working the issue. They ended leaving without doing a water test, they said they fixed the issue but the drains were still clogged and I was charged full rates with no work done. I would not recommend this company as they work on commissions and want to milk their money with time wasted. 0/10.

A-1 worked with my schedule by coming out before work the very next day. I thought I would need a new water heater and was preparing myself for a huge bill. Jeremy was very helpful and polite. He quickly repaired my own water heater and saved me a bundle. He easily could have told me I needed to replace it right away and I would have done so. Because of His honesty...I will DEFINITELY call them in the future when it does need to be repaired or replaced. Thank you!One year later and I have called again. Jeremy, Andrew Paul and Greg were all very professional and kind and hard working. If you Have to call a plumber...this is the one.

They charge $215 to find and repair a leak for 1hr of work, but 15 mins into the appointment it was determined there was no leak--still had to pay the full rate. Plumber did not wear booties and tracked mud into the house. He stepped on the toilet to be able to get a better look at the panel in the ceiling, despite having a ladder, but did not wipe it down after. He also made weird comments about my room. Overall, bad experience.

I purchased a new bath faucet and contacted A-1 to install it. They were able to schedule me in quickly. I was given a window of time for the technician’s arrival and was contacted twice with updates. The plumber was courteous and professional and did great work!

We called to get an estimate done for pipe repairs for a business I manage. Christopher was on time, professional, knowledgeable, and so helpful. He recommended a camera be used for more accuracy. Christopher and Smitty came out to run the camera and were so thorough in determining our issue. We will definitely be using them for all of our plumbing needs! Highly recommend!

My technician Pat arrived early and asessed the issue of my leaking outdoor faucet. He proposed the plan to fix it giving me best case scenario and worse case scenario and executed repairs quickly. Turns out i had a leaking pipe in the walls of my home so he did have to cut through the drywall but he made sure there was no further water damage and everything was stationary and properly sealed.

I woke up one morning to find water dripping from my kitchen ceiling. A1 American sent someone out later that day. David was great about taking his time to locate the source of the leak to make sure he didn't have to cut into the dry wall if it wasn't needed. David was very polite and did a great job. Reasonable price also

I called A1 because we had a clogged drain in our sink and washing machine. When the technician arrived he spent 5 minutes trying to snake the drain then proceeded to tell me it was the worse clogged pipes he's ever seen and told us the only way to fix it was replacing all the pipes in my house. He tried to sign us up for a loan for $15,000 and continued to insist it was the only way to fix the problem. We called a second plumber the next day and he fixed it within an hour. This company is only out to get as much money from people as possible instead of doing their job. Avoid doing business with them at all costs.UPDATE: On Tuesday the 21st, management called me to ask about this review. The person on the phone wanted to know if I wanted a refund because I never stated I wanted one. She proceeded to tell me that she could ask her manager to get me the refund but they would be more likely to do it if I changed my review. This company only cares about their reputation and making as much money as they can. Also, check Yelp for more reviews similar to mine.

The technicians Chris and Shawn were awesome. They did awesome work. But..... after agreeing to have them move my water heater. The in office staff/scheduler did not schedule the electrician to show up. So Chris and Shawn installed my new water heater, had to leave the job half done because the electrician couldn’t make it until the next day. Then after he did his job, I called A1 back. The receptionist told me they “don’t schedule subcontractors (which is a straight up lie), and that they couldn’t get someone back out today”. Mind you this was supposed to be a 3 hr job turned into three days.. it took my husband talking to a project manager to get someone out here to make sure I had hot water. Techs were all great, the electrician was awesome, the guy who gave us the estimate was awesome... But obviously a gap between office and scheduling and actually getting the job done. Overall, happy with the outcome, but if you’re scheduling anything with subcontractors I’d suggest calling the day before to ensure it’s all scheduled.

Chris B & Buck were my service techs and both did a great job with the new additional bathroom for our B&B The Serendipity Inn I'm very pleased with the complete remodel and now one more additional room to offer for our Inn. They were professional, on time and through with their work especially after having such a bad experience with another local company. I'm glad I canceled the remaining service with the other company and choose to take a chance on A1 you won't be disappointed!

We had an emergency and I called them first thing this morning and they had a technician here within 2 hours when another highly reputable business was three days away...Mike was extremely professional and they were very mindful of the time since they charge by the half hour..prices were extremely cheap, I would have paid double what we were charged. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them in the future..

Such a huge overall thanks to Drew and Chandler! Drew came out to our house the same day we called and established that the previous install of our bath tub had cut a lot of corners. Drew and another technician, Chandler, spent the afternoon redoing all of the plumbing under our tub! I called A1after reading reviews on line. I had a leaking water heater.The young lady I spoke to told me they could have someone out the next day. I inquired about cost and she quoted me a amount for the unit and 2 hours labor. Unfortunately the labor was 5 hours, which was a great deal more then I had been quoted. The workman that did the work was quite diligent in getting the job done, however he was not very careful concerning the carpet and walls . I was upset concerning the dramatic change in cost and the mess that the workman made. I called the company and shared my complaints. The next day a manager came out and sat down and explained why it took so much longer then I was originally quoted. He showed me the price tier for heating units and why mine was so much more then an average unit. He also told me they would have someone contact me to clean the carpet and clean the walls. I was contacted that afternoon by a carpet service and scheduled a time to come out and take care of the problem. They came out and did a beautiful job. The walls were taken care of too.After a rocky start to getting my water heater replaced, I am happy to say that I understand the costs and the cleaning issues were dealt with quickly and beautifully .I would recommend A1 to anyone who need these services.

A1 came to replace our water heater and another time to snake a clog in the drain. It was very easy to get on their schedule and the guys who came out seemed very professional. The price is a little steep but I'm sure that's just the way it goes when dealing with plumbing issues. I would recommend and would use again.

Needed to replace hot water heater that died on a Friday afternoon. Found A1 on Google and called based on good reviews. Person answering the phone found a technician who was finishing up and sent him our way. He called to confirm the address and update on traffic. His name was Drew and he was very professional and courteous. Ordered a new unit and came back on Saturday morning to install. Whole experience was easy from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Chandler Cobb did an excellent job and was very professional. Took extreme caution not to damage anything while removing and installing the new water heater in the closet. Very professional and politeness.

They installed a new Sewer pump back in 2019 for over $1700 for the pump and $195 per hour for labor. About six months after installation, I was experiencing problems with the dedicated circuit breaker flipping off. After this happened a few times, I called them for service, they came out and checked, but found no problems and blamed the electrical wiring from the house and charged me $195 per hour for labor. I had an electrician come out and check the wiring from the breaker to the box: no problems found with the wiring. A few months later, I was experiencing the same problem with the breaker, so I called A-1 again and still found no visible problem. They said I would need to have the wiring checked again, if it wasn't the wiring it must be the pump. If the electrician says the wiring is good they will come back out and replace the pump under warranty, but still have to charge for labor. I had another electrician come out and they said there were no issues with the wiring or breaker. I called A-1 back out and they said there wasn't anything wrong with the pump and charged me $195. I have had A-1 come out about every four to six months and they have given various reasons for the pump not working and refused to replace it under the warranty. About six months ago they came out and said it was because the float line was too long and catching up on the walls of the holding tank. They cut the float line, said everything was good and charged $195 per hour for service. I called them again about one month ago for the same problem. They came out and said that there were flushable wipes holding the float down causing it to run continuously and then said there was too much grease build up on the walls of the holding tank causing the float to get stuck up on the wall. He removed a few pieces of tissue paper and ran some water around the walls of the tank and charged me another $195 per hour for his services; blaming my wife and I for the problem. My wife and I collect our cooking oils and grease in a can or bottle and dispose of it in the trash. There may be occasional disposable wipes flushed down the system due to our grandchildren. But we have removed all wipes from the bathroom to prevent accidental flushing.I called a few weeks ago because the breaker flipped again, they said they would come out, but they'd charge us another $195 per hour. I spoke to a manager, Candace, and she said she would have to talk to their overall manager and and would call me back within 30 - 45 minutes. Two days later I still hadn't heard from her, so I called her. She said the only thing they could offer was to come back out and only charge 77.50 for the first half hour: $20 off WOW! They have never honored the warranty. And now they are saying the warranty is voided because we put wipes and grease into the system.As many times as they came out they never resolved the issue nor did they honor the warranty. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!

I messed up my toilet trying to an install a Bidet. A1 was prompt, courteous, fixed the issue and installed the bidet properly. They even fixed a nagging handle issue we had for years in the process. Because it was such a quick job the technician even knocked 25 bucks of the price. Will hire again!!

A++++ I had a pool installed, the contractor washed grout and sand down the drain in the driveway while installing. The A1 guys came out, jetted it and it seemed to drain better. Sent them out a second time after it rained and I noticed it was still slow to drain and cleared it completely. Couldn’t be more happy with this company. Thank you A1! Susan D. Virginia Beach- Had a clogged kitchen sink since Christmas eve. Our home warranty company sent out a plumber from another company. He spent less than 5 minutes looking at it before trying to do something not covered by the warranty that would cost us an additional $275 on top of our $100 deductible. We sent him packing. We then contacted A1 plumbing. They gave us an estimate and we set up an appointment. The day of the appointment the gentleman who came to do the work took the time to actually look at the problem. He tried to get the clog cleared in different ways before determining that he would have to go up onto the roof. We were charged a lot less by A1 than the other company and the service we received was superior to theirs. We will definitely call A1 in the future if we have any other issues.

A1 did a fantastic job repairing my hot water heater. I did previously write a poor review based on lack of communication. A1 contacted me and apologized for the communication disconnect. They kept me informed on the status of the parts to repair the hot water, and then came out and quickly repaired the water heater. Our electric water heater was 15 years old, beginning to leak and was mounted in our kitchen pantry threatening our new wooden floors. A-1 Matt and Tyler pulled the old water heater out of the house and installed a natural gas powered tankless water heater outside, solving several problems. I hired this company to re-plumb my house after several leaks with Quest (polybutylene) piping, which was discontinued in the 90s due to the fact it fails after ~10-20 years. The company completely destroyed my house, much more than was necessary to replace the plumbing. I found damaged electrical cables from where they cut down drywall, which they didn't bring to my attention, and could have caused an unsafe condition in my home if left unnoticed. I also had to replace a ventilation duct that got damaged when they took down the drywall. The drywall contractor, who had done several replumb jobs, and is friends with one of my friends, said they were ruthless and it's the worst he's ever seen. Instead of making nice, clean cuts, so the drywall could be re-used and mounted to structural supports, they just hacked away haphazardly. All the cuts had to be cleaned up before putting new drywall in. There were locations that didn't house any joints, that had pre-existing openings that could have been used to route a pipe through, but instead they took all the drywall down. For example, the half bath ceiling was completely destroyed, even though there was a pre-existing hole for the exhaust fan, and holes in adjacent rooms where water damage had already occurred. It would have been easy to just route the pipe through without taking out any more drywall. I could've done it myself without totally destroying the bathroom, and I'm not even a professional.In addition, I was told the work would be done on that Friday. Before I went to work, I dropped my dog off at the house and left her in her crate in the bedroom expecting to move back into the house that night. I told the crew I was planning on moving back in, and if they had any problems getting the job done to call my work number, which I gave them. I was working second shift, and got home close to midnight to find the work was still not done, the water was still off, the toilets weren't hooked up, and someone pooped in one of my toilets which I had no way to flush. The smell was awful. Nothing was cleaned up and I had to wear boots through my house due to all the debris, which presented a safety risk to my dog. I also had to work the next day, couldn't take a shower, and it was too late to contact a friend to go stay at their house. They made no attempt to contact me. The manager took about $100 off the cost of the whole job, which totaled over $10,000, which is negligible compared to the inconvenience, the destruction, and the way they treated my home.I also had to have them come back out after they finished the work because my master shower was leaking into my living room, after they re-did all the plumbing. The guy who came back out to fix it was nice and respectful and had more experience than the crew that did my house. It seemed he got overworked and not treated well because he does a good job. This is not the way to run a company.

So I called A-1 after searching on the internet for reputable plumbing services in the Hampton Roads area ( A-1 did have good reviews). The technician David seemed nice enough and contacted me as I expected. Then he called me back and said that he couldn’t find a plumbing clean out and he had drilled a hole in my drain pipe to snake the pipe and was unsuccessful. This seemed odd, because I was pretty sure that the clean out was about 20 feet from the house in front of my garage. I was out of town at the time, so I wasn’t in much of a position to argue that, and had to take him at his professional word. Then he said that they would have to completely dig up my old drain pipe from the house to the street and replace it all to remedy the situation ( backup and slow draining). He gave me an estimate of $9000 dollars to run new pipe from the house through my back yard to the street hookup. None of this made any sense.Before committing to his plan, I called in a second plumbing company and not only did they find out that my sewage clean out was in fact in front of my garage, but that the line actually didn’t run through my backyard at all, it went under my driveway towards the front of my house, not into the backyard. Then the technician told me he could water-jet the system for about $500 and I’d be ok. I didn’t need to dig up anything!! Heres the bottom line. A-1 completely misdiagnosed the problem, and offered a very pricey solution that was unnecessary. I considered contacting them back to see about a refund for the $350.00 that they charged me to misdiagnose the problem, but honestly I didn’t want anything else to do with them. I’ll chalk it up as a loss and a lesson learned. Overall I saved myself a lot of headaches by finding another company to handle the work and also saved about $8,450.00 by not using A1. Best of luck if you decide use them, maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but yeah I definitely wouldn’t recommend them after my experience.

I needed my shower repaired because we couldn’t turn off the water and to see if a leak was under my house. I called this company because of the positive reviews and I hired them to complete their service. Well their is no leak to my understanding because every one else that went under the house told me their was a leak and showed me the water. The tech was very professional and polite. I paid almost $200 for a service that I am trying to fix. The tech didn’t have the knob to the shower and told me that if he goes back to the office to get the part I will still be charged by the half hour; I asked and this is what I was told! Why would I be charged by the half hour for you to return back to the office to get a part when I called and said that what the problem was? My kids still are not able to use their shower, I had to go and find the parts which I had to purchase a whole new kit, still have to go to a plumbing supply store because the knob in the new kit don’t fit. I am not happy with this service and would not use them again. I would have given them a 0-1 but because the tech went under my house and was professional I gave them a 3. I hope they take the time to read these reviews to make things better for their customers or fix the problem. I am not happy with this service!!

The responsiveness and friendliness of the staff were positive. I requested for a pipe leak repair and drywall restore. I got the quote based on the two tasks. But they only did the pipe repair and said that they have to leave the drywall open for at least 2 weeks. I was expecting a reduction in billing since they did only one task out of the two, but that didn't happen. Overall I feel that the billing is bit higher for the task and the items they bought for the task.

Yesterday, A1 Sewer&Drain responded quickly and reasonably to our plumbing issue. The appointment scheduled today was for a complicated situation which prior plumbers could not properly assess, or solve. Gregory Stevenson, and his assistant Willie arrived promptly, and conferred with us to clearly understand our situation, and explained their plan of action. Gregory was pleasant, professional, competent, considerate, and accurate. Both men were calm, and efficiently found the problem, its cause, and showed us ( additionally gave us photos). Most of the issue was clearly due to prior substandard repairs by insurance company contractors. The charges were fair for today. Gregory also made the plan to proactively remedy the situation, and we have scheduled the work to be done in a few days. I definitely recommend Gregory as a well-experienced, honest plumber with integrity and a true desire to help his customers.

During the installation of a new toilet on a Saturday in one bathroom some type of stoppage occurred in the plumbing that caused a backup in the master bathroom. I left a message at A1 Plumbing at 1:29p and in less than 2 hours a technician arrived. He cleared the blockage in a timely manner. Besides being professional and knowledgeable, he was courteous and respectful.

My house is over 50 years old and it was only a matter of time before the cast iron finally gave out under my house. Every other business I contacted for a repair quote gave estimates much higher than A1 and they insisted that the only feasible repair would be to demolish my slab and jackhammer the floor which would have led to even higher costs in remodeling after the repair. Not only did A1 have a lower quote, but they were also able to complete the repairs without having to jackhammer my slab or demolish my kitchen . Their technicians were extremely courteous and professional. They have my highest recommendation and a very sincere thank you.

Contacted the company for same day service due to no hot water and warranty company not being able to come out. Chandler was the technician that came out very friendly and professional. He diagnosed the issue and explained what the issue was. Long story short version need a new water heater. :( Chandlet did provide an estimate, going to see what the warranty company say about replacement and will make a final decision. Overall experience EXCELLENT!!! Have locked the company's info in my phone. Prices are reasonable.

I scheduled an appointments for increasing in pipe rattling in the ceiling. After being told that it would be helpful, but not necessary to have a recording of the noise…the tech that came out basically told me that it couldn’t be fixed.I specifically asked and the receptionist that took my phone call said they had diagnostic tests that could be performed to detect issues.The short of it…I paid $175 for someone to come out, do the diagnostic tests of flushing toilets and running water as well as putting his head in my attic. Nothing was fixed, there was no resolution. I spent $175 for 20 mins of “work”.I would have attached a photo of the invoice since you claim to know have my info. Very responsive and professional. Jeremy explained the reasoning for his recommendations and wasn't pressuring in any way. He was actually early each time. Get a second/third opinion. Tried to sell my wife on a $12,000 repipe with no photo evidence of damage. Had another company scope my drains and they recommended only replacing the toilet flange for $550 as it was the only damaged portion of our sewer line. I read down through several other 1-star reviews, seems they have a habit of recommending repipes at 12k plus to people only to find out from a separate company it isn't necessary.UPDATE: A1 did reach out twice to investigate the situation and try and resolve the issue. However, I already had another company do the repair, and I didn't need them to return for the same issue for a third time.

I called the office, explained what I needed done and I was scheduled a time for services but due to an unfortunate situation that morning I was not able to be at the house when the technician arrived, they worked with me on my time and the job was completed. The technician, Justin was very knowledgeable of what he was doing and explained everything to me in a manner that I was able to understand. I was well pleased with the technician’s knowledge of what he was doing, the service provided, the company’s consideration and understanding when I needed to reschedule within hours of service, their rates were reasonable and their promotions/discounts given. The only concern I had was when I specifically asked twice for Justin and the company still sent out a different technician so for that I give 4.5 stars but wasn’t sure how to add that half star on this page. The overall serves I received was defiantly “A-1” service!!!

So I am a little delayed in writing this but the impression this company had on me is still the same today as it was a few months ago when I requested service. Initially, I reached out to my home warranty to have a repair made - to find and fix a leak from my upstair shower into my kitchen. After reading the reviews on the company they contracted the repair out to I promptly cancelled and called a1. I couldn't have made a better decision that day. Buck came out and within less than an hour found the source and completed the repair with professionalism and enthusiasm. I would recommend any homeowner, new or seasoned, to use a1. Period. They will be my go to as long as I am in the Hampton Roads area.

Our tech, Jeremy Balmer was very professional and informative. I know he had a long day of work and we appreciated his flexibility in coming to our home later in the evening since it was the only time that worked for our schedule. He went above and beyond doing the plumbing leak detection to let us know what we can do to improve our water bill and what to look out for. Thank goodness no leak was found, but we learned so much in the hour he was with us. In addition, he even wore booties inside the house! Thank you so much again for your time and expertise! We’ll be sure to use you for any of our plumbing needs.

David was very professional and got the job done. I really am glad I hired them as I tried to unclog it myself using a 25' snake, and I was unable to clear the clog. The only thing was I asked for them for the $25 internet coupon and they didn't tell David. When I signed for the work I thought $249 was after taxes and my coupon was on it. I looked at my receipt in my email after he left. It was not. I will give them 1 more star if they do give me the coupon I pre requested as I hired them. Someone from the office says they will give me the coupon...we shall see. My job was cleaning the main and my washing machine line.

Pat B was awesome. He came to connect gas fittings for a new gas line going to my range. He was professional and very helpful. I’m renovating my kitchen, and not only did he attach the new gas line, he also gave me advice on how to connect my dishwasher. I’d use this company just for the professionalism alone. The price was also very fair.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! this company is as crooked as they come. they will fabricate issue and try to charge you to fix them. I know this cause we caught the Plumber lying to us and instead of going ahead with the repair we got a second plumber company to come out and do the inspection and there was NO issue at all. NONE. There was no $1500 repair needed.. CAUGHT STRAIGHT UP LYING.. CALL SOMEONE ELSE

Brandon and his associate were on time, polite, and professional. He took the time and walked me through the video that he took of the interior of my drain pipe while discussing options to correct the problem. I would recommend this company and Brandon.

Pat Burns came to look at our bathroom sink which was not getting very much water pressure. He was really nice and it was a easy fix. After a miscommunication with the first plumber, Andrew at A1 was very responsive, addressed all concerns, and sent a highly professional plumber the next day to install my tankless water heater. The coordination team worked well through the whole process. Happy with the results.

Ben showed up on time and was a complete professional. As life goes by the time Ben arrived the faulted tankless water heater that I stayed up till 1am attemtempting to repair myself with zero success decided to start working again on its own. I was prepared to pay the cost of the emergency visit due to it being the weekend. Ben wanted to make a call first back to his supervisor. He returned from the call and wished me a good weekend shook my hand and said no charge. It's not always about business, however all of the time how you do business determines your success! Excellent experience! This is the first time I've needed a plumber since we bought our house 19 years ago. I checked the usual sources in search of a company that did honest, quality work for a fair price. Everything I found on A-1 was very positive so I took a chance and contacted them. I'm very happy I did.My first contact was with Carol, who was friendly and knowledgeable. I explained my problem (a leak at one of the pipes running into my shower valve) and Carol was even able to provide a ball park cost estimate.AC was dispatched to my house and arrived within the window that Carol provided. He was also friendly and professional and completed the needed repair in less time than Carol had estimated, which meant the job cost even less than expected.When I find a company that does good, honest work for a reasonable cost, I stick with them. A-1 Sewer & Drain is the company I'll call for my plumbing needs in the future.

My husband and i had a pleasure to have Chrytian and Ryan come fix and replace our pipes. They have the best personalities and were a joy to have around. Chrystian is extremely smart and was able to tackle any obstacle that got in his way. Ryan was an amazing hard working guy. They both were. They even went as far as putting down our concrete and make it look flawless, like true professionals. We were so impressed and will definitely be requesting them again! They were an amazing team. We had a great experience with the A1 team. Alex and the team assigned to our sewer line replacement were respectful, communicative, and hardworking. Even through rain storms and unexpected obstacles that came up as work progressed they kept on top of everything and kept us in the loop with what needed to be done. Used A1 recently for a main line leak to the house from the street. They were fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. Communication was good on all fronts except they pulled the completion payment from the down payment method without any heads up. The workers did a great job not destroying my yard and putting what they did back in very good condition. Would recommend just keep in mind they will charge you when the job is done without notice.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We found our water heater leaking late in the day. After calling a few places and having to wait a couple of weeks for service, we reached out to A-1 and they were able to send someone out within a couple of hours. Matt came by and quickly diagnosed the issue. We ended up needing a new water heater and Matt patiently explained our options, and answered all of my questions so we fully understood everything before we made a decision. Ultimately we chose a tankless water heater. Matt saw we had 3 kids and made every effort to get us on the schedule for the next day, without us asking. The next day he arrived on time and got right to work. He ended up finishing before expected, made sure everything was in working order and that I understood everything before he left. I appreciated his professionalism, good attitude and that he treated me with respect. You could tell he truly loves his job. We are so glad we chose to call A-1 and won’t hesitate to call again in the future.

The technician Andrew did a good, thorough job in unclogging the line that was causing a back up of both our toilets. He located the source of the problem and made sure we were up and running before departure. He was also engaging and friendly throughout the ordeal, even when running into some difficulties with the equipment.

Don't be fooled by the good reviews. Everyone seems nice but it's extremly expensive to get the most basic stuff done. Paid $270 for someone to auger our shower drain pipe only to find out the smallest auger he had couldn't fit through the p-trap . So he kept trying for a good 20mins and still nothing. Nothing fixed but still have to pay. Our only option he explained was to pay another $290 for a separate camera person to come out another day! So we're looking at additional fees for another person on top of that to come out and fix, if any, issues the camera man finds as well! How does this equal good customer service? They're just here to rob people. Our drain pipes were all replaced last year and now I'm being told there's a good chance I'll have to crack open my slab again, before even talking about options?! NO THANK YOU! Stay away if you value honesty and clear guidelines to what they will do for you when they actually show up. Will deter friends and family from this company for as long as I live. I expressed my dissatisfaction and was upfront with the person that came out in a respectful manner, I just want others to be informed as well.

We had A-1 come out after we had a company come out before them, and the company before them charged us 100.00 and they were here for 10 minutes tops and said it was just bad soap. So they were rushed to come out and leave so fast. So then we called A-1 and they came out when said and were here for about 1hr maybe more to make sure the problem was fixed. They were outstanding and the problem got fix and it was a drain seal that needed to be fixed and it did the job. I would recommend them and hire them anytime. Great people very nice and took their time. Thank you so so so much. So we had to pay them 124.00 after the messed up company before them but they fixed it and so happy.

Great experience! Called at 8am. Water heater leaking. Said they would be there between 4-6pm. Jeronmy said he had some free time and came early, around 10:30. Had to replace old water heater. Pat came out to fix a severely backed up drain line. I was given a window for him to arrive, and he was on the earlier side which was great. Gave me call with notice that he was on his way, which I really appreciated. He did what he needed to do and fixed the problem. Showed me what the issue had been, and promptly cleaned up with no trace he had been in the main sewer line. A-1 has taken care of us 2 times now with great results, and their guys have been professional and personable.

To sum it all up, A1 Sewer & Drain is top notch professional. Period. I had a leaking toilet issue and when I called to make an appointment, the representative who took my call was very helpful, and was able to answer all my concerns/questions and they came out the very next day. They were available to come that same day but my schedule would not permit it, BUT they were available. The technician (Mr. Jeronmy Nixon) who came to service the toilet was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and very personable. We basically spoke almost the whole time he was servicing the toilet and yet he was done very quickly and made it look so simple. I am using A1 Sewer and Drain to install my Tankless water heater and specifically asked for Mr Nixon to install it. I told Jeronmy how I felt about his service and after he left I had to call and inform his management team how professional he was and that I was very satisfied with the service I received. I got an appointment quickly and was able to work with the same plumber so I only needed to explain the issue once. They were able to replace the anode in my water heater and that solved a water odor issue I was having. The only complaint was just that we seemed to have some scheduling conflicts but further communication sorted that out.

Dominion Power and their contractors Team Fishel / New Technologies, damaged my sewer line when they were installing underground power lines. They would not accept responsibility for the damages and would not fix it. Even after The City of Norfolk got involved and told them they needed to. I called A-1 Sewer and Drain, they inspected the damage, confirmed it was due to construction by the contractors that were digging around the sewer line. A-1 installed a brand new sewer line and backfilled all the dirt that was dug up (even the dirt that the contractors previously had dug up and were responsible for backfilling). A-1 was responsive, communicated almost immediately when i had concerns or questions. Went above and beyond to ensure the project was completed. I appreciate the hard work very much, great job! Highly recommend.

I needed a clogged sink repaired. I utilized another company and they were not able to clear the clog. They said I needed more expensive equipment to fix the issue. David from A1 was AMAZING. Our experience with A1 was excellent across the board. When we called in, we were able to get someone out to the house the same day. Chris B. our tech, did an excellent job. He took a look at what we were seeing, let us know what was going on (always good to get thorough explanations) and then did the work we discussed. Fast forward two days and we thought we heard the problem return, Chris was back out to take a look and provide some closure on what was going on. Professional, knowledgeable and efficient - can't provide a more positive review.

I would give them 6 starts if that was an option. I was having a hard time finding someone who would inspect our sewer line. After 20+ calls, we found A1 Sewer & Drain. My outside water facet was leaking, and I called A1 Sewer& Drain. From my first contact with the person taking my call to the excellent work done by Phil the technician; they were totally customer friendly. I would surely call them again and recommend their service. ThanksOn this occasion the technician Pat B. installed a bathroom faucet, and started to repair a kitchen faucet, but after getting into the work found that there was a problem with the parts that were sent by Moen. He did a good job on the bathroom installation. I look forward to getting A1 back to complete the kitchen repair.

Jeremy quickly diagnosed the problem with our water heater and provided us information on options. He was able to restore our service same day and helped us determine what to do moving forward. As part of his 1 hour call he also fixed a toilet we had problems with.

I had an emergency repair at night. I called another large name plumbing that advertised 24 hour service but their service reception was awful and told me I would be lucky if a plumber would make it out that night.I called A-1 and right from the get go their customer service was excellent, I got a call from someone in the field and he gave me an estimated time. He was at my home on time and ready to fix my large leak. Within an our he had replaced a pipe in my ceiling and cleaned up. Excellent service and will be using them from now on!!

Had a back up issue from a blockage in the main drainage pipe this morning. Called a contractor friend for advice on who to call. Made the call to A1 Sewer and Drain Cleaning It was a good experience. The tech, Zach M was excellent. He arrived same day, called to say he was on the way. He was able to unblock the main drain pipe and scheduled the install of a two-way clean out later in the week when it would be convenient for me. I recommend them for sure!!

Our warranty company sent out two different plumbing companies one could not locate the leak and the other quoted us a ridiculous price and said they would have to dig up our concrete floor to find the slab leak. Jeremy was able to find the leak and only had to put two holes in the wall to repair. This company had a fast response time and was able to send help the next day l. I highly recommend themand will continue to use them in the future.

I had a clogged wastewater line and called A1 Sewer and Drain and they set up an appointment time and their technician was on time and truely worked the issue as fast as he could to get the line open and flowing and kept it under an hour. Setting up my appointment was smooth. Response time was same day and as promised.Type of work was repair of natural gas line. Technician called and texted (with photo) when on the way. Arrival time was exactly as promised. I called based solely off their rating. Who locks the door so I cannot see the work being done to my house. Apparently the guy who came to fix my plumbing issue. While my leak is no longer an issue, my water pressure is way lower than it was before and charged an hour and a half because he took it upon himself to install a shower head sitting in the bathroom that I did not ask him to do.

The technician Jason Coleman showed up earlier than expected which I was thrilled about! He was personable and professional. He identified the problem and expertly, efficiently and quickly rectified it. Would definitely recommend them and use them again if the need arises.

This was not an easy fix recessing a natural gas line into the wall for a new gas stove. The guys both were professional and timely the only issue was lack of the proper box that like everything was out of stock so had to be ordered to finish this job on Monday. Had a main line water leak in the weekend. Jeremy was able to come out on a Sunday to diagnose the problem. It required some extensive digging in the front yard so they had to come back on Monday but they were prompt, professional and finished the job. I was extremely worried about my driveway so they did their best to disrupt the yard as little as possible. Would definitely recommend again!!

Edit: had to get them to come out again(but they worked with me and am thankful for that) a different Justin and Brandon had responded quickly in the window that was scheduled. This was the second time we needed A-1's service. Obviously, we were pleased with our first experience. But, the second experience was over the top outstanding. I was not at the property, but my friend was there to await their arrival. I was texted the information regarding the time to expect them as well as who would be coming to house. I also received a call from the office to confirm that the technician had arrived in the neighborhood. My friend, who is a Type 1 Diabetic had been working in the house and his blood sugar began to nosedive as the technician, Chris B. arrived. My friend was having difficulty standing and speaking. Chris B. caught him before he fell to the floor and helped him to sit up against the door. Chris B was preparing to call the paramedics. My friend was able to tell him to get a sugared soft drink for him and Chris B. watched and waited, hoping that things would improve, which they did. We are grateful for this coincidental arrival and assistance during this time. But, Chris B. then fixed several plumbing problems and the fee was extremely reasonable in my opinion compared to other plumbing costs I have paid to other companies in the past. A-1 and Chris B get a gold star for their business model and service as well as the Humanitarian Award for helping a fellow man in need. We are very grateful.

I had a pilot light go out on a hot water heater and couldn't get it to stay lit myself. Called A1 Sewer and drain and they immediately scheduled me for the next day for service at 3 PM. At 2PM the technician (Pat) gave me a call and said he was available early (off to a good start with the responsiveness!). Pat came, started the pilot light and noticed what seemed to be a steady drip coming from inside the heater. Within a couple of hours, Pat had diagnosed a crack in the tank, located a new water heater, found the additional helper (Smitty) he needed to perform the replacement, removed my water heater with the cracked tank and replaced it with a new one. Both were very professional, knowledgable, speedy, transparent about every aspect of the fix, and personable/friendly with me, my wife, my 18 mo old, and even my dog. COULD NOT recommend A1 enough and I would like to especially thank Pat and Smitty who demonstrated an exemplary customer service, professionalism, and sense of urgency in resolving my hot water heater issues. I wouldnt call any other plumber. They are always ontime and the plumbers are all well trained and /or experienced. They unclooed a backup from my septic system and completed the job in less than an hour, And it was a Friday evening. No OT charges and the prices were fair, I recommend them highly.

I have to say I was a little nervous to hire this place but the reviews don't lie. Gregory was the nicest. So professional and explained everything. Tried a few different ways to get this tricky clog that had gummed up my tub hard. He got it out and charged me less than I expected. He also gave me an incredibly reasonable price on some other work I needed done. He cleaned up all the mess with sanitizer and the whole time he was extremely aware of keeping my floors and home clean. I'm impressed and thankful.

frustrating morning, everyone getting ready for work and appointments of the day and what happens- the drain backs up. What a pain. Never has issues prior, so here it is 7:00 AM with two bathrooms fully non functional. Did some web searches and landed on A1 Sewer. Fully expecting to get and answering machine a person picked up, a real person. She ask would I like a morning or afternoon appointment, like yea AM would be great. About 20-30 minutes a get a call that the tech is in route. Duane arrived at 8:30 AM. The tech was personable and nice, in a nice banner truck, I said to my spouse this is a real company and ready to do work. Duane was on the roof in minutes with his drain auger and in about 30 to 15 minutes he has cleared the issue and we are back to full use of our plumbing. You could not ask for a more professional guy Duane in his work and cleanness on the job, he ask if there were any other issues he could assist with and did a visual inspection of Water Tank and disposal under the sink. Duane left me contact information for any future issues or problems. the most difficult part of running a business is getting and keeping good workers and acquiring new customers.. A1 Plumbing and Duane did that today, this was not a big job nor a big spend but boy was it a relief to have this matter resolved quickly and professionally.. for me and this job it was a great experience.

We installed a new dishwasher and did not have proper drain fittings. The old piping had rusted with holes. A-1 Sewer & Drain installed new plumbing and fixed the leaks. The service man was polite and knowledgeable, taking a reasonable amount of time to reach a solution to our problems. 2 stars because the technician was super cool, but the service was so basic for emergency services. We waited 2 1/2 hours for him to do the same thing my husband was doing for the previous 4 hours just snaking the toilet to remove what my 3 yr old flushed into the toilet. As professionals of the service provided we expected slightly more for $299 per hour for 18 minutes of service. Maybe our expectations were too high only to have to pay out yet another to go above and beyond at a fraction of the cost.Spoke to management and they really took our concerns seriously. I appreciate a business that does there best to meet the customers need and they did just that. 4 stars now because the second plumber was quick, efficient and cool as well. After collaboration with the issue we agreed on a quick resolve and the toilet was replaced. Thanks A-1 for your professionalism and quick response, we are pleased with the replacement toilet install.

(2021) Patrick was hard-working and knowledgeable. He came late at night and helped us out and came right back the next morning with another plumber, and they were able to get to the bottom of the problem. It looks like they might have to knock out part of our wall but they were able to go to our roof instead. We are very grateful for them!(2018)Justin was very personable and knowledgable. He got right to the problem we were having and helped us come up with a plan to solve it. We would definitely call A-1 Sewer and Drain again. We would also recommend them/Justin to anyone in need of a plumber.

I've used A-1 now on 4 different occasions and each time has been ON TIME, budget friendly, very knowledgeable and FAST!!!!!!! (did I mentioned fast?) One of their techs, Pat Burns, was so good I actually called his Supervisor to tell her how much her employee impressed me and that his work alone would make me call their company again to use their services. I cannot stress how great these folks are and, with me, have a customer for life. 5 Stars!!!! I'd give 6 if Google allowed!

After receiving our estimate to replace a huge leaking water heater and a damaged outside faucet two guys showed up on time the next day. They hauled that thing down from upstairs, replaced some pipes that were iffy looking, cleaned everything up and installed the new water heater. Then they finished the repair on the wall behind the outside faucet even going so far as to place plastic sheeting to catch drywall dust. I'm impressed and will definitely call A1 if we have any more plumbing issues. Thanks!!!!

My experience with this company was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I DO NOT Recommend. The technician was not personable or attentive during the entire visit. After calling to speak with someone about being displeased with my service and the fact that my issue was not resolved they then offered to come back at a “discounted” rate. However I paid. $269 dollars for the initial service (which I paid for in cash and was not given my change. When I spoke to customer service about that I was told that the technician was not supposed to accept cash payments….well HE DID!) and the discounted rate would have been $129 per half hour….Not much of a discount seeing as the technician was at my house for only little more than an hour on the first visit. I was given a quote for $6,000 for further repairs and was told that was pretty much all they could do. And that whatever they were able to fix would only be temporary. I felt like they kept trying to sell me extra services instead of the initial repair I requested. I had a pleasant experience with this company before but after this recent encounter I will never call them again. I went as far as to ask for a refund and they refused. They just kept trying to get me to pay more money. I highly RECOMMEND Worley’s they provide fantastic service and workmanship!!

Awesome experience with A1!! I had Patrick G. and Justin K. come out to my home to flush my tankless water heater from the 90s. I had previously contacted a different company that came out and told me that it was “impossible to flush” and that I needed to upgrade to a new $6000+ water heater... Thankfully, I called A1 to get another opinion. Justin and Patrick took the time to figure out how to flush my outdated water heater, and get it working like new again. I had Drew come out from A-1 for my water heater. I'll start by saying that I ended up calling the office a couple times because I had scheduled service then realized I had conflicting appointments on my scheduling. The women who took my calls were very kind, professional and worked with me even after I complicated things. On the day of service, Drew called me before he arrived to explain that the specific water heater I had been quoted for was not in stock at the warehouse, and for this inconvenience they upgraded my water heater at no charge. Drew showed up on time, well prepared and got right to work. He was very personable and professional. He double checked his work to make sure everything was right, and to no ones surprise everything was good to go! It has been three days with the new water heater and it has been kicking butt. Really appreciative to everyone at A-1 and especially to Drew.

Pat was wonderful! Worked hard and quick to fix the issue. We had a root ball in our main drain and he got it all fixed for us. Would highly recommend Pat and A1 to anyone! We had tons of extra questions for him and he was incredibly knowledgeable about everything.

We had two plumbers come out to our house, Leslie and Zach, both were amazing. We had been told we had a foundation issue causing water to be in our basement. However, Leslie came out, was in the basement for less than 15 minutes and found out the actual source was a broken pipe from our sink. He fixed it and recommended some other minimal work. Zach came out a few days later to help clear a clog from the pipe that had been broken. Both plumbers were amazing, explained in detail what the issues were, and the cost was great for the work done. It saved us a ton of money and they were a pleasure to work with. We will absolutely use them for any future repairs.

The reinstall took a couple of weeks to complete because there was an error when the water heater was reinstalled. But I called them back and they were able to fix it in no time. I had to call back again one more time because the temperature was off but they came again and fixed that too very quickly. Great service once everything was completed again. Easy to reach out to with questions or problems.

Our water heater was leaking which we found out at night on 11/02 - not a fun thing to come home to. On 11/03, Drew from A1 Sewer and Drain came to our house at around 11 am very quick and professional service. He inspected our water heater and determined that it was broken - it was 11 years old. After having a horrible experience with Drain Masters Plumbing & Drain (DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM) to repair my shower faucet knob and my Home Warranty company having issues of finding another company to come out and repair the knob on this holiday weekend, I called A-1 to see if they could come out and repair it for me. Responsiveness 10/10Quality of service 10/10My issue, Technician came out and informed my tenants that the hot water heater had a leak and needed to be replaced. However the good news was that my Hot water heater was still covered under manufacturer warranty so it would be replaced for free. Awesome news right! Wrong... I was then STILL quoted $700 to replace it. If my hot water heater was covered under warranty why am i paying $700 in labor when you can buy the exact hot water heater for about $500 from Lowes?But wait. The plot thickens. Next day Technician comes out and conducts the install, no issues however the final invoice I received an invoice for $215 for the Technician to diagnose that I needed a new hot water heater AND an invoice for $865 (not the $700 i was quoted for the the new hot water heater).UPDATE: Received a call and A1 honored my original quote. Apparently the Technician misquoted and nobody called to notify of the change.

A1 has great professionals working there. Every tech that has come to help has been quick, efficient and knowledgeable. I have never had a better experience and result. We had a toilet that had been connected to the hot water, and A1 came out quick, and fixed it without cutting into the walls. We also once had a leak from the upstairs tub into the first floor, and A1 was the only company that offered same day service and they fixed our issue before the first hour was up and offered to look over any other possible issues we might have while he was there. I highly recommend using A1!!

The clogged sink had been seen by another plumbing company and they told me the sink can't be fixed without tearing out walls. Zach completed the job in 45 minutes. The drainage line for my HVAC system was clogged meaning I couldn't run my AC on the hottest weekend of the year here without water backing up onto my floors. The HVAC repairperson couldn't help, but I called A1 and they came out promptly and cleared the drain in less than 45 minutes. The plumber was very professional and helpful.

I didn't even know I had a problem until I turned my garbage disposal on on a Saturday and my sink sprayed my kitchen with warm rotwater. I called my usual handymen and got told that the earliest they could see me was Monday. I found A-1 through good reviews on Google and they were able to see me right away.My experience was excellent from the very start. The call center was polite and professional and scheduled me for an appointment between 4 and 7. I was surprised when I got a call at 5 saying that the plumber couldn't arrive right away and he would be here at seven. I don't think I have ever worked with a company that was polite enough to call and let me know they would be on time (but toward the end of the window). I was very impressed.When the plumber, Ryan, got here he went to work right away. He was genial and knew what he was doing. He even tried to investigate whether or not it was a clog in order to make sure I got the best value. Ryan did great work and even swept the floor after he was done. Also he didn't mind my cat following him around so any pet owners who might be worried should know A-1 is good with them.Excellent service through and through. A-1 is going to be my first call for plumbing for now on.

A-1 repaired a water leak in a nasty crawl space under my kitchen. They arrived on time, fixed the leak professionally, the price was right and I would use them again. My overall experience with A-1 was excellent in every way.

The main line from our 1 bath home became clogged on Thanksgiving day. This meant our sewer line between the house and the city sewer hookup was clogged & any water or sewage was/would flow onto our front yard. Pressure from the clog had caused the cap above ground to pop off. We called MULTIPLE well known & highly rated companies who claimed to have 24/7 emergency service. Most had an answering service that quickly stated they had no one to send out. One called back HOURS after A-1 was in route to us, only to give an excuse not to come.A-1 had already quoted the emergency fee for each hour on site, dispatched a tech, and texted his name, photo & eta. Matt arrived right on time, cleared the line, quoted long term repair cost & was gone in 1 hour or less. Very professional, polite & even happy. Oh & he'd come from the Norfolk/VaBch area!!! The eta quoted was only his drive time. This SPOKE VOLUMS to the credit of this company! Highly recommended.

David unclogged my sewer line for us today. Showed up earlier than expected and was able to finish the job in the first hour! Very professional and personable. Went the extra step and checked the city sewer line to find out their line was backed up as well. David fixed our problem and provided us with excellent customer service. Got the job done, but arrived very late after scheduled appointment. The office never called us to update on technicians arrival. I had to personally call for updates. Still waiting for city inspector to review install. Never got any calls about city inspection. It’s been over a week and had to personally call back to office for update in order for office to schedule inspection. This should have been scheduled a week ago without my request. One of our copper pipes had several leaks and the entire crawl space ultimately needed to be changed, from copper to PEX. Chrystian was the plumber that arrived to do the job. He was not only on time, but he worked while in pain because of a sport injury from the day before, and without stopping or complaining.Chrystian was personable, yet professional and extremely customer-focused. He not only heard, but he listened whenever I interacted with him. He told me what to expect, then did what he said that he would do. This job took 1.5 days and he was consistent the entire time. When I had to change the schedule unexpectedly to make an appointment, he took it in stride and accommodated our needs. When the job was finished, he sent a text to let me know the status and everything was done exactly as he said it would be done (including remembering to turn off the light bulb under the house, closing the crawl space door and locking the door to my home).I would highly recommend A1 Plumbing. As a new customer I only had reasonable expectations. But Chrystian was an excellent ambassador for A1 and set the standard very high. Thank you, Chrys!

David showed up ahead of time and went to work. We started off with a leak (cracked pipe caused by a bad clog to our kitchen sink). Every issue that came up after the other, he found the solution. Highly recommend this place and David specifically. Very good pricing and good quality work.

We called our regular plumber but couldn’t get appointment so we called A1. The technician came before the time they gave us. Leslie the tech promptly assessed the situation and began work. His machine broke so he called and got another tech, Chandler, to come out. He completed the job. We were not charged for the time Leslie was there. Both technicians were prompt and polite. The service A1 provided was at a reasonable price. We would use them again.

Patrick was quite efficient. He changed the broken pipe and installed our new garbage disposal quickly, professionally and meticulously. This is the second time we use A-1 Sewer and Drain Plumbers and we are pleased with their overall performance. Will call them when we need them again.

Nick quickly identified the issue, but did not throughly caulk the area of the tub as needed. We had to re-do the caulking our self. basically paid 195.00 for 10 min and 3.00 of caulk .... and we still had to correct the issue.12/10/21 UPDATEThe shower was never fixed, we were not able to get the area to stop leaking until we took it all apart again, cleaned everything and did a very careful caulk of the area around the faucet handles. not worth the cost since we had to do it all over again.

TL;DR - Great service and price for quick water heater replacement, but not so great for plumbing service later.Needed a new water heater installed on short notice, they were able to deliver within a day at a reasonable price.Edit: Dropping two stars to balance a great experience with a bad one. A week after the water heater, we started having some drains back up. We've had similar happen before, and in the past, plumbers have had to go to the roof to clear the main line. The techs came out, and that day they weren't able to replicate the issue, so never went to the roof and cleared it out, thinking it had cleared itself. Charged me for an hour, and said if they started to back up again, call and they'd take care of it no extra charge.Fast forward three weeks, and the drains are backing up again. Called and explained things, and was quoted even more than before! No thanks! Went with someone else, and they wound up needing to go to the roof to clear the line, what we said needed done in the first place! Disappointed that they didn't hold to their promise if the issue recurred after spending a decent amount of money for the first service where nothing was done but running our water.

Although expensive for a Sunday, it was worth it. Our tech was on time, prompt and efficient in her response to my plumbing emergency. I will only use A1 for my plumbing needs!

Best experience with a plumbing company in ages! My kitchen floor had water damage and I did not know where it was coming from. Jeremy was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing during the leak detection assessment. They were able to come the same day I called! The first team dispatched landed up having equipment issues, so they dispatched another team. Second team (Cameron & Burt) did a great job. Since my problem is ongoing, they were the only plumbers that suggested ways to find why I continue to have this problem.Second visit was for a camera to detect if there were any drain pipe issues The tech, James Wilkins, was very professional and courteous.

After the initial installation of my tankless water heater, I encountered several problems and realized several items had not been completed as they should have during installation. I contacted A1 and they sent their supervisor Justin Kelty out to inspect the job. Justin looked at the issues with me, and immediately started working to rectify all the issues; but most importantly, explaining what he was doing and why. He also conducted a follow-up visit as promised to complete the proper installation of the unit; again going over what was necessary and why he was doing it. Not only did he replace my kitchen sink and faucet but fixed my slow running kitchen hot water.

Chandler and Tyler were prompt and professional, unlike two other local plumbing companies I used, they thoroughly explained what they were going to do, was honest about the findings of the broken drain line under my slab, and worked thoroughly to pin point the pipe location under my concrete. Chandler was very thorough in explaining next courses of action and getting me promptly set up with the upcoming repair job.

Mike and Tony worked on my home's plumbing over a 2 day, 4 hour period. They worked through a difficult issue to clear a pair of conjoined drain pipes and fix leaks I've dealt with for years. They where on time, quick (but did the job right), and very courteous. Mike offered options for me, and communicated what was needed and what was going to happen before the job started, which I really appreciated. A-1 was very responsive, attentive, on time and service people were very professional and helpful in addressing a gas leak under my house. I needed someone immediately to address the issue and they came to my rescue. I will definitely use them again!

Great experience with A-1. Excellent technicians and plumbers and when we had a small problem with the tankless electric water heater they installed several months ago they sent a master plumber out the next day and he took care of it! Jeremy was fabulous! Knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. A-1 is the real deal - they make good on promises and guarantees and deliver quality products with a smile:) You can't go wrong choosing them!

Matt and his partner were courteous and informative. My dishwasher leaked just as Matt came in with the tankless water heater. Matt gave me some hints about replacing my dishwasher, like possible brands and where he would go if I were to buy a new one and why. Also he told me A-1 could install it, etc. Very helpful.They did the work on the water heater promptly and explained about the water temperature and a little about a circulating pump, should I decide to go that route.

It's fixed so that's what's important right? I never knew when they were coming except for once when I received a text. I'm still waiting on them to tell me what caused the damage to my pipe so I can inform insurance. They had to fill in part of my walkway with concrete after they cut a portion out to repair the pipe and the concrete looks like part of it sunk in on one side and they left my hose on, which wouldn't be a big deal if I wasn't already about to have a huge water bill for having a water leak. Oh and they never told me when it was fixed and I could use my water. I had to call them for updates. They're very nice though, just lacking some communication.

Had a service appointment today, and was very pleased with the technician that came out, (Lamount Gatling) was professional, polite and kind. He explained everything he was going to be doing. And, got to work. I would highly recommend this company and Lamount, if he is available, to do you plumbing.

Had another company tell me a needed a complete replacement of the system that cost thousands of dollars. I got a second look from A1 and it was a simple fix. They fixed my issue in an hour. They were professional and treated me with respect. Will be going back to A1 again

The first guy was outstanding. Awesome customer service. He did everything he could to help me out. Well worth the $250. The second guy you sent out wasn’t worth the time of day. He ran his camera till he hit water and then told me I had a problem. I know I have a problem. Then he just tried to upsell me the rest of the time. So I pretty much paid $300 for your tech to tell me I have a clog. Not if it’s roots or if it’s clear until a certain point. Only that it’s gonna cost me between $7,000 and $14,000. I don’t think I’ll be a repeat customer.UPDATE: They did not contact me “shortly”. It’s been over 3 weeks and I still have yet to hear from them.UPDATE to the Update: They reached out to me the next day in order to resolve the issue I had.

Jeremy walked me through every step of his process very clearly & thoroughly. A1 was able to help me detect where the leak in my water line was & repaired the issue (2 running toilets) in the same visit. I'll be using A1 again for my future plumbing needs.

They came out, trobleshot the issue and were able to let me know how to hold over until my vents were able to be fixed (they came at night). Not to mention I had just mopped and they didn't leave a trace under the sink or on the floor. If you're wondering if you should use A-1, I'd easily recommend them.

The work was explained to me in terms I could understand. James was friendly and very efficient with his and my time. He was genuine. I would happily hire the company again. They delivered on time and affordably when other plumbers I called could not even call me back in a timely manner. In plumbing and sewer, effective and timely service is extremely important. I am very grateful to A-1 and would highly recommend them.

I very seldom ever give comments or reviews on companies I deal with. However, I need to make an exception. When my tankless water heater failed me, I called A-1 Sewer And Drain. From both the receptionist ( Jessica) and the technician (Nick), I received the most professional, prompt and courteous service ever. Should I need the kind of services they provide again, I will be definitely be calling this company.

Patrick was outstanding! He worked to find the solution to a problem left from a previous plumber, until he finally snapped the leaking disposal into place. And the leak was fixed in a way that I don’t expect any further problems. He also completed something else left undone previously in attaching a plate to the bottom front of my dishwasher. It was difficulty to line up the holes blind, but he did. Hexwascquick, but did the job right. He was also very friendly and likable. He is a winner.

Chris did an excellent job. He arrived on time and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He cleared our sink drainage problem very quickly and cleaned everything up after the work was completed. I highly recommend this plumbing company to anyone having sewer/drain issues.

Great service! I was able to request the times I would be home and they called to update the time when the worker was running late. The plumber arrived and got right to work, explained what he did and even showed me how I could do it myself. Chris was very helpful and I appreciated his input. A-1 always does a great job!

Taylor West was very professional. He kept me informed. Once the service was completed; he showed me the issue was fixed. He also explained what he fixed and corrected. The company also were able to come to our home after receiving our invoice from AHS.

Jeremy baller did a great job even though the rain was horrific. He isolated and fixed the problem in extreme weather. He impressed me with his work ethic when he did a repair at my primary residence. You should value him as a great employee.

I don't know the names for the crew I had out to redo my sewer and water lines but these guys were amazing. PROS:* job time cut in half* I never had to leave my house (as originally advised)* the crew were friendly, professional? Zach was very professional and courteous. He didn’t waste any time when he showed up to fix my problem. After the repairs were completed, he checked to make sure everything was fixed properly and that I was satisfied with the work and clean up, and then he was on his way. Excellent service! Very professional and prompt. Steve was our technician and he was friendly and very knowledgeable. He let me know what he was doing during each leg of the project and was a very hard worker. He was very conscious of my time and completed a huge job in around 2 hours. I had A1 install an entire new sewer line. This was a big job. It involved digging up my yard and jackhammering part of my basement. From problem diagnosis from Zach, to the excellent crew of Arty and the other gentlemen, they did an awesome job. I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively clean they kept everything. Was happy to see project manager Tim come out a couple times to check on things and to make sure everything was going well. A friend of mine that is a contractor and the city inspector both were impressed with the job.Thank you for the prompt response to our problem!

Had a pipe burst in our house Christmas Day had to call three time to try and get someone. Called the next day got someone and had someone at the house first thing on the 26th. The service was great and the plumber/tech (Taylor) was very thorough in repairing the pipe and explained everything as he was doing it and also helped us with situating the bill for our insurance.
