Helpful, great work, no mess! Highly recommend Speake's Plumbing!

We have used Speake's several times over the years and have always been reliable and professional. The only thing we weren't thrilled with the last two times they've come out they have charged for two plumbers hourly rates (100 and 60) which adds on a lot more $$$. I feel like this should be a option on the simple things like a faucet leak in a bathroom.

I highly recommend this company. They are very friendly, and quick to respond. The guys gave me an estimate over the phone and after the water heater was installed the charge price was exactly what was estimated. Other people were going to charge me double the price.The guys who installed the water heater were friendly and worked very swiftly. In addition, they were very conscious of keeping the house in clean order as they worked. Give them a call. A+++

Roy and Dakota came out first thing this morning (I called yesterday morning to set up the appt) and tackled 3 jobs (hose spicket, shower drain clean out, and replace a water hose on washing machine) around my house! They were very professional and courteous. I will definitely call them back if/when needed.

We have used Speakes twice. Once for installation of a garbage disposal, second time was a kitchen sink faucet. They are a local Garland based company. Prices are way cheaper than corporate plumbing companies. Good service and prices. Service people are local, friendly and professional. We will continue to use them in the future.

Not professional at all. The tech didn’t do the diagnosis and just go ahead replace the part without approval. They didn’t fix the problem and initially still want to charge the full price ~$300. Will you pay someone $300 within 1-2 hours without the fixing issue ?

We noticed our old water heater leaking and called them in the morning at open. By afternoon we had a new water heater installed. The prior water heater was poorly installed and the plumber took the time to correct everything and install new pipes, turn offs, exhaust, and connections as needed. The install took a lot of work and a trip back to the shop for equipment due to the old heater not draining but we ended up with a professional job at the quoted price. Would not hesitate to use or refer to Speake's.

My home warranty company originally sent out an awful company to replace my hot water heater. Speake's was recommended to me by my mother-in-law who has used them for years and I am glad I listened. I paid out of my pocket 3 times what my warranty wanted to pay but it was worth every penny. Got the brand water heater I wanted and they got it from the warehouse in 1 day which shocked me since we have a less common style tank. Communication was great, always called me back promptly and kept me informed. Roy and Quincy came out to do the install and were awesome. Super friendly guys, honest and knowledgeable. I caught myself wanting to hang out in the garage talking to them and watching them do the work cause they were so good. Super clean install, made it look better than the original install by running the t&p line better than original. I had to leave before they finished but came home to hot water and my garage cleaner than when they started. I will always use Speake's for any future plumbing needs.

The most honest business I have worked with in a very long time. On time, professionals that I will use again, and would recommend highly to everyone with a plumbing issue. These people are THE professionals!!!

I’ve used Speakes for a couple major plumbing projects, and really like them. Very nice to work with, high quality work, and fair prices. My dad and grandfather used them before me. I’ve referred friends to Speakes, and they always come back to me with high praise.

I found Speake's Plumbing via references on NextDoor, and called them for the first time yesterday, explaining it was not an emergency but looking to get on their schedule as a new customer for a slow toilet leak. Rusty said they could come the next day for sure, but asked if somebody would be home in case they had something open up later that day I called. Well, they did come the same day, and Garlan immediately identified a potentially serious problem with the drain pipe and flange, saved the day (and my nerves) with a highly-skilled and thorough multi-step repair, and did it all for an extremely reasonable price. I was particularly impressed with how Garlan made a point of showing me everything he found, explaining the situation and the fix in detail, showing me the repair job before replacing the toilet, and generally being the consummate trustworthy professional. Speake's is our new plumbing company from here forward!

Absolutely top shelf service. I called several times with tons of questions before committing & never did he tire of answering my questions. Very honest & up front. I was calling on behalf of a loved one who needed a new water heater & ended getting one myself as a preventive since mine was manufactured in 2009.
Both replacements were done in a timely, professional manner within the quoted price. I was quite impressed & that's not easy to do.

Speake's plumbing came out to help me with a leaky exterior faucet. The gentleman was very professional, he answered all my questions and was very personable. While he worked I asked questions and he explained what he was doing when I asked. He got the job done quickly and was very fairly priced as compared to a quote I got from a different company. Will do business with them in the future. A fellow teacher recommended this company to me.

Mike is a superb plumber! He is professional and knowledgeable about his job. If I have future plumbing issues, I will return as a loyal customer to Speake's Plumbing.

I would use extreme caution when dealing with this company. I called to get a quote for a specific problem for my elderly parents who were without gas until the problem could be resolved. Initially I️ was given a very reasonable quote over the phone (replacing a metal riser, city permit, and city inspection). The same work quote was provided by 3 other plumbers who came to the house to provide estimates. The quote given by Speake’s was in the middle of the road compared to the other quotes that were given. We decided to go with Speake's because of availability and the reviews I read online.

When Speake's Plumbing arrived they told my parents that they needed to replace the entire line to the meter(which they stated was metal)and the cost of the job more than tripled. I advised my parents that we go with any of the other plumbers who provided quotes. Ultimately my parents selected a different plumber to fix the issue. The newly selected plumbing company arrived and replaced the metal riser. They then stated the line to the meter was poly not metal and did NOT need to be replaced. They also showed my parents the poly line in the ground to prove it was not metal and did not need to be replaced. Speake's charged my parents $130 for the quote at the residence. In summary, Speake's had no issues attempting to charge thousands more to an elderly couple that were in a tight spot. These people seem to operate dishonestly. Beware.

Owner refused to give me an estimate because I left a bad review 5 years ago (they did not show on the day they promised). Who wants to take a day off work only to get canceled and then have to take another day off? So now I'M THE BAD GUY!! They could be the best plumbers ever but with customer service like that who needs them! My advice is to go find a reliable company.

I highly recommend this company! I have used them several times over the years. Randy has always been very pleasant and helpful over the phone and the technicians are skilled and efficient. I think they offer a good value for their services and I would recommend them to all my friends.

Update: Used their services, again. Called for a slow drain fix. Dakota and Aundra were very professional. The clog was WAY, WAY down the line but they got it cleared. Highly recommend this company. They answer the phone and everyone I've dealt with either on the phone or in my home has been very pleasant to deal with.

Prior review: Excellent experience. Was referred to Speake's by a company that does gutters and siding and that sort of thing. I asked them who they recommended for plumbing. Phone is answered promptly and as if they are happy one called. Got a date for service and a 4 hour window. I was called when plumber, Roy Bass, was on his way. Mr. Bass is personable as well as very professional. He did a great job replacing an outdoor faucet and fixing a leak under a sink. I am so pleased that I called Speake's. Highly recommend. The price for the service was very reasonable.

Honest plumbers who take the time to do it right without trying to upcharge everything.

Sewer line cap fell down my sewer line a long time ago. Dealt with clogs continuously because of it. Didn't want to deal with it because I heard from the Internet that it could cost thousands as a deep trench would have to be dug and the pipe cut to remove it. Called Speake's plumbing as they were a popular choice on my neighborhood forum. Travis and his assistant came out, cleared my sewer line AND RETRIEVED THE CAP !! No trench had to be dug. They worked a long time with the camera and auger but finally got it. Can't say enough on how happy that made me.
Customer for life now and will always refer them. Thank you Speake's plumbing !!!

Since moving to Garland I have used Speak’s. They are always professional and thorough. They discuss needed repairs and verify before making changes/repairs. I had them out today to fix a leak in the front shrub line. Not only did they find it and fix it they ran new pipe and made sure to put the new levers in an order to leave outside water available if the inside water needed to be shut off. They cleaned up all of the mud and made the once lost valve cover accessible again. They also made a small repair to a dripping shower faucet, which was not part of the original call. Quincy and Trevor did a great job. I highly recommend Speak’s for any plumbing issues. UPDATE: we used Speak’s again today 02/09/23 to repair/replace the two outside spigots. Casey was here first thing this morning. He fixed the front spigot in 5 mins because it just needed a new part. He fixed the back spigot which needed to be drilled out and replaced. Took a little under an hour and looks like new. The Brock repair looks great as well. Price of as reasonable and I am always impressed with their work quality and price.

Outstanding service from Daniel and Randy....repaired the toilet leak and showed me what he replaced. Professional and prompt.....Speakes is definitely on my list for plumbing repairs!

Called and made an appointment to have someone come clear a clogged bathroom sink.Jerry and Jacob came by about 3:30. They were able to get the line checked out and snakes in about an hour. Very thorough and give us tips on how to prevent this in the future. Would definitely use them again.

I called on a Tuesday morning to have someone fix my toilet and they were able to have someone out Thursday morning. Roy came out, he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing and why I needed certain things fixed/replaced. He also made it a point to clean up the area he worked in. I am extremely pleased with the friendliness, knowledge, quickness and price of the service. Hopefully I wont need their services anytime soon but if I do I will defiantly use them and recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work done.

This has been the worst experience I have had with any service company.
They made unnecessary repairs to 2 warehouse heaters that we do not use without any approval. The bill came almost to $1000.

Speake's has been out twice to repair and install: toilets, valves, trim et al. They have expertly rectified shoddy work by previous journeyman plumbers. I trust them completely as they consistently execute with best practices.

Had them out twice for unrelated work. The first time, they were thorough, efficient, and applied themselves well enough that I had them come back to do some work I was planning on doing myself. All work was done well. Since they applied themselves so well, I was able to afford to have them do the extra work that otherwise I would have had to do myself. HONEST and RELIABLE! We called Speak’s on a wing and a prayer after many failed attempts at getting our laundry drain flowing. They sent someone the very next day, in the rain, to correct the incorrect 2” pipe replacement, the drains were cleared out and everything was explained in a courteous and professional manner. Oh, and they left everything clean like they were never there! All friends, family, and neighbors will be using Speak’s Plumbing.

Mike and Greg came out to check my shower for leaks. They resealed all of the points on the shower and were out in an hour. Appreciate the quick service.

It was the WORST service from a “professional “ I have EVER experienced! They charge by the hour and made sure to drag out every possible moment. He tried to pass off an old part for a new one without telling me. He didn’t even fix the problem I was having ! I was able to do it after 10 min of reading the manual! I talked to a service man and the manager Both just said we were not a good fit and to not call them again. It was Crystal clear how little respect they have for their clients. I can’t explain just how horrible their attitudes were to me and will NEVER use them again!

Have used Speakes twice and had great service both times. A competitor quoted us $450 to install what they called a luxury kitchen faucet. With Speakes it was a quarter of that.

I thought I needed a new water heater. One look at and they said no you don’t. Replaced leaking drain connection and were in and out within the hour. Very professional band all around good guys. I’ll never use anyone other than Speake’s Plumbing.

I had a waterline blow out on my water heater at 8 in the morning. My wife called Speakes Plumbing, and a few hours later two young men showed up with a new water heater. These guys were professional, courteous and kept me informed during the process. The installation is top notch, professional in every way. I’m thankful there are still businesses that demonstrate integrity in everything they do. I’ve been impressed with previous experiences as well, these guys are the real deal. I highly recommend Speakes!!!

Beware of pricing since they charge by the hour! The lead tech (Kasey) stated at billing time that the repair took 1 hour and 5 minutes. Those 5 minutes cost an additional $160 on top of the $215 for the first hour. Additional Hours: 1 Man @ $110 and 1 Man @ $50. If it had been 15 - 20 minutes, I could stomach it...but 5 minutes?! Perhaps they needed to work 5 minutes faster. He said it was policy. My policy is to find other repair people if I feel that they do not reflect fair practices. I was a repeat customer. 20/20 hindsight, I should have blocked their exit so they would have to stay at my residence for the additional 55 minutes that I paid for. Would have made them late for next appointment and those down the line for that day. Trust your gut...I mentioned to my neighbor when they first arrived that I did not like the lead tech's attitude!

I had noticed a leak under master bathroom sink. It took less than 5 minutes to diagnose the issue. 1 went out for the boot part. I had unlocked the door as soon as i saw them pull up and they sat out there 10 minutes before coming in. After he put out on the part and wiped the floor it took again a tad over 10 minutes to come back inside to hand me the receipt. I had to rewrite check for the correct amount. Not in the house 30 minutes. After he he walked out continued to stay outside for a bit before driving off. Knowledgeable yes. No AARP/seniors discount either.

Mike promptly came out after our call today and took care of several of our needs, including unstopping a drain, repairing three toilets and replacing two outside faucets. He explained everything in advance, with costs. He was professional, thorough and courteous, and the cost was reasonable.

Had a problem with my water heater and they came the next day and on time. Two techs came out and they were very professional, and even gave me some tips on resolving the issue in the future. Highly recommended!

Sunday morning City notified us our water meter ran all night. I turned water off at the meter.
Called Speaks voice mail Sunday and explained our problem. 7am Monday morning was talking with Speaks. Hour and half later Quincy and Trevor was here repairing water line to the house..
Since this was the 4th time our water line had to be repaired, asked Speaks to replace line. Scheduled dig Tuesday am and line replacement scheduled for Wednesday.

I've been using Speakes for many years now. They've always taken care of my plumbing needs quickly and honestly.

Very disappointing after several years of being a client, I called to ask for a gas leak inspection and they announced they will not do that anymore, or did not want to take the time to do it~ So how can you repair a gas leak if you do not do that? they mentioned many guys quit on them! What is going on? Are not interested to service a faithful client? Not making enough money on the job? I was very surprise by the lack of motivation, carelessness I would not recommend them as efficient and are not responsive to the care of their clients!

These are the most can do plumbers I have ever encountered. They have helped us with multiple problems but today they amazed me.
It's 2/23/22 and freezing. We have no heat because 2 days ago Atmos detected a gas leak outside the house.

They came exactly when promised, fixed it and worked with Atmos to get the gas turned on today.....something that I understood to be highly unlikely. Cannot say enough about how grateful I am and .....our dogs really liked them.

Noticed a stain in an entry way, suspected a leak from the upstairs. Speake's showed up, determined it was from a toilet upstairs. Started and completed the repairs in just a couple of hours, also replaced a value on another toilet downstairs while they were here. Very pleased with the work, and the price.

These guys replaced my entire toilet only to find out a year later they used OLD AND USED PARTS!!!! And the toilet started falling apart again! they totally ripped us off. Don't waste your money.

Used this company to repair a gas leak in the line coming to the house. Very professional and on time! Couldn’t be happier!

Once again Speake's saved the day. Last week I had 3 disc in my neck replaced. Sunday evening the wife informed me that the kitchen sink was draining slowly. Me not being able to do anything I called Speake's first thing Monday morning. The dispatcher informed that they were booked up for the day, but he would try and work me into the schedule. At 10:30 they called and told me they were on the way. 30 minutes later drain was fixed.

Randy that answered the phone was super friendly and accommodating and the two gentleman that came out to fix the toilet valve were timely, friendly and quick. I highly recommend them. My wife had used them for her business multiple times as well with similar results.

Had our pipes burst due to the Winter 2021 catastrophe. They were out working overtime to help their neighbors get through it. Such great service and very reasonably priced.

We scheduled an appointment and Daniel and Max came out the next day replacing my water heater with such professional, helpful attitudes. The total amount for the installation was reasonable. The next day I had a minor issue and Speaks sent Mike out quickly at no charge to fix the issue. The company deserves your business and support. Very honest and dependable. Not a review about service, wasn't able to use them for what I needed. However, they're very professional, polite, and a pleasure to work with, Even if it ended out of scope for them. If I need a repair in the future I know who I'll be calling first.

My husband and I have used Speake's Plumbing for over 10 years and have been more than happy with them. They have always been fast, efficient, and do a fantastic job. Several years ago we moved over 900 miles away and rented out our property, and we continue to use them for all plumbing issues at the property. They have always been a company we felt comfortable dealing with, even from a distance. We recently had a small misunderstanding about a project, and the issue was resolved within two hours. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We had a simple drainage problem here and I thought they would give me a fair price but that's what I get for assuming. They worked about 40 minutes had the drain cleared didn't have to get on the rooof and charged me $245. I'm feeling ripped off. I told him Google estimated the price to be between $100 and $250 and that I guess they charge the highest rate... he's like I guess so. WHATEVER. I will look elsewhere next time.

The best that I have run into. All I do is call them up, tell them what I think I need help with and they come right out, let me know what is wrong how much it will cost. They are pleasant, clean, great to work with and do not try to sell me extra services. I have owned more than one house in the DFW area. I have been using them since I moved to the DFW area. Since I have lived all over I do know the difference between service providers.

This extortionist extraordinaire lost a repeat customer. Set timer when our plumber Garland arrived for the repair. 56 minutes 22 seconds start to finish. Charged me 1.5 hours and complained because my toilet is on the second floor. Do yourself a favor chose any other plumber. I expect some kind of reply, and if they actually do something to account for the horrible service experience I will modify this post, if I do not say anything you will know it is bologna. Best of luck finding a honest plumber.

These guys are wonderful. I called for a leak diagnosis and repair. Daniel and Randy showed up on time and really knew their business. They explained where the leak was, repaired it in short order. I had a bathtub drain stopped up in a 50 year old house that had never been cleaned out and tub faucets dripping.
Roy the Master Plumber cleaned out the drain, fixed the faucets in a short time with hard work and reasonable price. Great Job

Definitely avoid Speake's Plumbing. We gave them two tries to fix the same problem and they did not honor any warranty. We paid over $500 both times and we still have the same issue. When I called a third time with the same problem (upstairs guest bath use causes pipes to leak in the downstairs living room), they tried to claim that something must have been put in the pipes to cause them to back up and leak, but they haven't been used since Christmas time when we had guests last. It's just me and my husband and no one has even had access to the upstairs bath since then. Very disappointing they don't honor their warranty and make assumptions about causes over the phone.

Will most definitely use them in the future. I recommend them to anyone.

I've been running into bad luck lately with plumbers in Garland. Right before Christmas I had an issue requiring a professional. Decided to call Speakes who said they would call the day after Christmas and they did. Daniel came to the house and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. We had a leaky pipe underneath the house and Quincy & Randy came out and located the leak (after we had to have water restoration guys come extract out over 150 gallons of water that was standing under the house!). They went above and beyond to make sure we got our water turned back on and didn't charge us an arm and a leg!! We LOVE Speake's Plumbing!!!!!
