Even though I didn't use this business, I felt I had to show my appreciation to Marina and Gil Jones. When a water pipe burst on my front lawn, I called and spoke to Marina. She was so sweet and empathetic. She put a priority on my call so someone could come out to my house as soon as possible. Gil Jones arrived, and unfortunately, my brother had called another plumber, who was already present. I let Gil know, and he graciously said no problem. He left but came back soon after to explain the process of fixing the leak and the work involved. What makes him special to me is that he didn't want me to be taken advantage of, and he took the time to make sure I knew what to expect from the other plumber. Fortunately for me, the information that Gil gave me was the same as what I was told, and the leak was fixed. Even though I didn't use Radiant Plumbing & A/C, I am so grateful to them for being helpful and kind. I will definitely reach out to them if I ever need to. I'm sure their services are worth 5 stars, just as Marina & Gil are. Thank you guys so much!?

I noticed a leak under the kitchen sink on Thursday evening. and called the 24hr. service line. Spoke to a articulate and helpful person who scheduled us for the following day (requesting a morning call). Was contacted by Radiant Dispatch around 0800 the next day (Friday) and was informed a plumber could be at our place within an hour or so. Mr. Jason Repman showed up on time and with a great can-do and cheerful attitude. After examining the issue he exited to his vehicle to prepare a bid for repair. I braced myself for an incoming bid-missile. The bid was very fair and reasonable; relief! The work was efficient, extremely thorough and actually exceeded my expectations because Jason was noticeably careful to make sure any peripheral issues were addressed as well. Bottom line: When we need a plumber again, we will be calling Radiant and requesting Jason in particular.

Troy has performed maintenance at our residence before and he is always so thorough, professional, knowledgeable, but most of all Troy takes the time to educate us on everything about our HVAC system. He is patient in explaining all the maintenance and what he recommends has always been the BEST advice. We request him to come back EVERY time. Always reliable and makes us happy to stay with Radiant. 5 years now!

I learned so much from Radiant Plumbing sending Gill out to my home today. He tested the hardness of my water and explained Texas' water to me. I felt reassured that my showers weren't leaking, but may need a new water heater. Please come down on your prices. These guys are great, so long as you can afford them. If you use them ask for Gill. He's great!

Jason did an outstanding job he was able to fix my leak quickly. He was very professional and kept everything clean while having to cut open my wall and roof to repair my pipe. I highly recommend Jason and if I need any work done in my house, I will be giving him a call.

Troy was excellent! He was on time, explained everything he was doing and looking at in detail so that I could understand what the issue was. Let me start with saying that Alex, the technician was great. He was helpful and informative, as much as he could be. My complaint is more with the company practice than anything. I called and was told that there was a $39 service fee and that they would send a technician out. I asked about additional charges and was told that if we accepted services that the initial fee would be waved. What I was not told was that once the tech gave a cursory glance at everything, any checking of the system beyond that would increase the charge by at least $120. After taking a look at everything, he brings us several quotes, in which even the “bare minimum” included some upsell, and at worse is recommending a new system for a 3 year old model. Over $170 to do nothing. Went with another company, paid less than their “diagnostic” to get the whole thing fixed.

John Akamine Came out we went over the work that needed to get done and added more work that I had not planned on due to age of home. Over all great experience super knowledgeable and friendly will be using them again. Very happy with the work and the price. Thank you John you made my weekend.

Wayne, Jake, Garrett and John are the personification of extreme customer service and professionalism. One does not see those qualities very much anymore. My water heater issue started as a simple restart. It then mushroomed into a factory defect and these gentlemen took it all in stride and delivered what they said they would with total professionalism and dedication to the customer, their assigned task, and their company. These men are wonderful. Thank you for hiring men with extraordinary qualities and standards.

I contacted Radiant Plumbing because my home was no longer under warranty and I saw the great reviews online. My technician Gil Jones and Joseph McGow were very professional and provided great value. They provided several solutions for my plumbing issue that would help me save money. Furthermore, they factored in a quote where I was able to trench a new hole for them that would allow me to save even more. Plumbing issues can be expensive but I believe I was able to receive a quality solution at a great price.

Henry did a wonderful job. I needed to have my HVAC serviced for the sale of my home (something I should have been doing regularly but didn't know). He arrived on time, serviced my HVAC, changed my filter for me, and even educated me on some things I wish I would have known when I purchased my home a few years ago. Once the work was completed, I received a detailed invoice and pictures. The price was also very reasonable considering the quotes I received from other companies. I've since moved so I won't be able to use their service again. But I highly recommend them! Thank you to Henry for your work and professionalism!

His years of experience in this field insured, a proper diagnosis and the mitigation steps necessary to initiate repairs. There are many dishonest and/or inexperienced HVAC technicians, and companies in San Antonio that do not have their customers as their highest priorities; they only care about the bottom line, and the money derived from erroneous and overpriced servicing.Radiant air conditioning company is not one of these. Had them come out to service my tankless water heater. Jason Repman was very friendly, informative and thorough. Troy inspected the HVAC systems in my home, and provided a clear, thorough explanation of issues and of ways to address these issues. He was calm and patient in his explanation, and showed me photos to highlight issues he thought were especially urgent. Troy earned my trust and I would like him to continue to service my heating and AC needs.

Called last night about a possible leak and they were able to come today and run a diagnostic and find the leak and repair it. I then asked if he could install a water softener and RO system and he happily obliged and completed this also! I couldn't be happier.

The technician, Gil, was great! Very knowledgeable and professional, I could tell he actually wanted to help us get our water leak issue resolved. Will definitely recommend the company to anyone needing plumbing assistance.

Jason replaced the broken pipe under the house, leaving it in better shape than before. He made sure the new section was wrapped tight for the next freeze and shoveled the dirt back along the edge to keep rain from having quick access. Jason was friendly and helpful, so we will ask for him next time.

Radiant was super quick to respond to my inquiring! Jordan Valles was awesome. He fixed 3 faucets and a garbage disposal fairly quickly and brought some sunshine in after not having water access for a few days!

We had an issue with water temperature and pressure at our home in Austin, and contacted Radiant who sent us Gil. Despite our house putting up a fight, he faced and overcame the challenges as a professional, took great care and respect for our home, and solved all of our issues and then some. I would happily recommend him to anyone.

We asked for a second opinion because the first company tried to sell us a new hot water heater. It turned out to be a regulator and water softener issue. Our tech took the time to explain the problem and gave us options for how to fix it.

We had an underground water leak, 2 1/2 gallons per minute. Repair and all work was completed next day. Radiant representative is prompt, and he has a nice personality.

Well from the start I was really dissatisfied this man got off his truck smiling like one of my cats that swallowed my granny's cannery and really love it, and as the he looked over the job inspect it and really tried to save it but I knew you can't save a dead horse so we settled on what we needed to have done no push what so ever he worked hard all day with out even taking a brake and not just that as far as the job he reminded me of my drill sergeant saying if you don't go do not just your best but go above and beyond on everything you do the work would be a waste of time as for my disappointment I love a good fight and there as none not even a sand kick, I would say if you don't keep Jason your hurting your business Jason keep it up kid your going places.Charlie Astorino The Texas Italian Stallion yall

My AC went out after hours(9:30).I called Radiant. The dispatcher was very kind and ensured that they would make sure I was taken care of. Within, 30 minutes, the technician Alex, called me, gave me a couple of options of services and arrived at my residence within the hour. Alex arrived, he introduced hisself. Explained all fees in a professional manner and maintain his professionalism, even at 11pm. He was Thorough and ensure that I understood what the issue was. I contacted Radiant for plumbing issues. It was my first time to use their service and boy am I glad they popped up on google. I had Jason come down to check what the problem was. He instantly knew what the issue is and got right into it, after explaining everything to me and being informative about the process. He was very professional, very nice and kind, and most importantly the most experienced professional I ever dealt with. He really knows his stuff and I highly recommend him. Will definitely be using the services of the company when needed.Also, I really loved the text with the pic of the person I should be expecting and the little fun facts about them.

Alex Rymers was so incredibly professional, kind, and attentive to detail with the inspection of our A/C system. Alex R. came out to give my parents AC unit a second option. The first company that did our system maintenance said we had a leak so we called Radiant and Alex R. said there was nothing wrong with the unit. Glad I called Radiant. Troy Barnett was a joy to work with! He genuinely cares about his clients and wants the best for them. I’m a young women and I always get nervous about doing stuff like this because many companies take advantage of my lack of knowledge and love to tack on the fees for stuff. We bought our house 3 days ago and are about to leave for vacation when we had a large ceiling leak from the from a/c. I called and had a tech, Lucas out within an hour. Lucas was awesome from the time he showed up until he left, found and solved the problem in record time. Recommend us the next steps to get things fixed and was very nice the whole time.

Gil and Joe replaced the water heater. They kept me informed of each step in the process. Thoroughly explained any issues as they arose. Very friendly and professional.

Jason Repman was great! He was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He looked at our leaking bathtub faucet and explained what the cause was pretty quickly. He also checked other areas of our plumbing and the water pressure for us and explained everything very thoroughly. If we need this company's services again, I'll definitely be requesting him.

Alex arrived at the appointed time. He was professional and very knowledgeable. He took his time and explained everything that was going wrong with our system. We appreciated him providing us with different cost efficient options, that worked best for us. We know who to call for any future A/C or heating issues.

Our AC stopped working and Anthony came out at 6p to look at our system. He checked out our unit, took pictures and video then explained our options. Given that it was after hours, he assured us he would look into the parts and give us an estimate first thing in the morning. He kept his word - called us first thing and explained all of our options. A few hours later we had AC again. Anthony did a fantastic job but more than that he was just a great person and very personable. Thankful for him and his skills to fix our unit.

1/23/2023 Continued great service. This time Jason from plumbing division provided a plumbing inspection and I added in a hot water heater flush. Thorough inspection with tiered options for some repairs and mx. The hot water heater flush went great with informative explanation of the process. Great work.6/24/2022 second A/C unit went down today. Great service like last month. I called for the servie in the morning and technician arrived few hours later. Prompt and courteous work. Technician Lucas explained the process what he was checking and the plan of action. A/C was back up and running in no time.5/10/2022 I cold called at 1000 am for A/C repair service for a failed system not working and the tech arrival was only 2 hours later. Dispatch called and sent a text when Tech was 20 minutes prior to arrival. The technician, Troy, was polite and explained his plan to troubleshoot problems and what to expect along the way. Each step he explained items he was finding in system causing system to not work properly. It took some time for him to research parts and carefully put together pricing to repair sytem or consider replacing as this A/C system was 12 years old. He provide a tiered set of options from bandaid fix solutions, to mx items probably should fix as well as they were close to failing and estimate range to replace system. His truck had a supply of necessary repair parts to get system running again while I considered replacement options. Great service by Troy and Radiant support team taking call to set up and keep me informed of tech arrival.

Gil was great. Answered all my questions and explained all options. Took care of the leak and was professional courteous and personable.

First off, I loved that I got a text of a picture of who would be conducting the visit so I knew who to expect to come to my home. Second, Alex was GREAT! Super personable and very respectful. Finally, He he kept me updated throughout his process. The reviews for this company definitely held up!

We’ve used Radiant Plumbing for years, but this was our first experience with Radiant HVAC - they didn’t disappoint!!! The installers were on time, professional, and efficient. They fixed the problem faster than expected, and left the house cleaner than when they started. Great service!!!

Had cooling problem last summer and thought ductwork needed upgrading. Turns out attic was severely lacking insulation. Jared did a great job of assessing the best solution. I got text messages that Albert and Alan would arrive around 9am. They made no mess, no noise and cleaned up after themselves with no critique needed. I am confident the home will be more comfortable this winer and next summer with the right solution. To finish the great story, they provided the paperwork to get a $445 rebate from CPS - what a great experience. Wish everyone took as good care in ensuring customer was satisfied.

Called Radiant this morning for an AC unit that was not cooling the house. Within hours they sent a technician, Anthony, to my house. Ended up being a classic 'turn it off and on again' issue. Despite the easy diagnosis, Anthony educated me on how the unit works and how important maintenance is. This was going above and beyond, and was certainly not necessary. Greatly appreciate the help today from Radiant and Anthony. House is cool again, and I learned a ton. Will be calling them in the future if issues arise, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone with AC or plumbing issues.

Lucas Gamboe showed up to repair my Hvac unit. Very professional and knowledgeable of his job. He didn't have part on his truck to fix my unit. He went out of his way to drive back to San Antonio to pickup my part and repair my unit. Lucas to time to explain why my system froze up and caused the problem. With in 30 minutes had me back up and running. I will recommend Radiant in the future for repairs to Hvac and plumbing. Very professional company they do care about there customers. Alex Rymers was very friendly ,kind respectful and informative.He Explained everything to us and showed us our options.Also he showed us proof of the pictures of our unit and the concerns he had. Kept us informed throughout the entire visit we trusted what he told us.Was not pushy on the repairs ,but he explained what would happen in the future if not maintenenced. We knew the repairs had tobe done to avoid future costly damage and so we gave the ok for him to do the repairs on the same visit we got our Springtune -up.This was Alex's 2nd visit ,and I requested him and I'm so glad that he was available!!I highly recommend Alex!

They fixed my air conditioner within 24 hours of calling them. Other companies would have left me waiting two weeks in 100 plus degrees. Problem was thoroughly diagnosed and the repair was done professionally. Troy is outstanding. Thank you so much!!!!

Our technician, Troy, arrived promptly. He was thorough in his inspection. Troy explained some features I didn’t know about on my thermostat, made sure everything was in working order and gave me some options for a new maintenance agreement and two maintenance updates needed. VERY knowledgable and worked hard to educate us on our system as some problems are always your own understanding. they quickly found the issues causing our AC to perform slowly and fixed it all in one visit. the pricing is super fair, and before they left, our house was cooling better before they left than it ever has.

Troy was very knowledgeable and professional. I have 2 very old HVAC systems and he went thru each very carefully to find what maintenance could be done to extend the life of each unit until I begin a major remodel of the house and full system replacement within the next 18 months. While he did not perform any maintenance due to the coils being so old, he did give great advice of what to do and how to do it. He also did not try to up-sell me a new unit or new coils, but just let me know the possibilities of probable failure soon so I could perform possible maintenance and be prepared for when the units do fail. Troy is very kind and it was a pleasure having him in our home.

Troy replaced UV lights in our AC and repaired the leak that occurred near the water pan. Troy does out maintenance and any needed repair. Today we thought the fan was broken, but he determined it was a motor that went out. We have been very happy with the work Troy has done. Radiant (formerly Schmidt mechanical) has provided Heat pumps for 3 of our houses. Our house, my mom’s house and a rental were all outfitted with heat pumps from Radiant. We continue to use them for all our needs and recommend their service department and Troy!

I would like to thank Humberto, Matt, and Joey who did an excellent job of installing new air ducts and replacing vents in our 42 yr old house. They were an exceptionally knowlegable, professional, and polite team who got the job done in a timely manner. They made sure all traffic areas were covered with drop cloths, and after completing the job, made sure the areas were vacuumed. Thanks to Ken, the HVAC Systems Specialist, for doing measurements detailing the space between and the location of the air vents as part of the pre-installation process.

My AC stopped cooling with 103F highs forecasted. Radiant got me a diagnostic appointment right away. Alex Rymers was very professional. He did a thorough check of our aged A/C system and did an excellent job explaining our options for repair and replacement. I would not hesitate to call them for any other issues we face as new homeowners.

UPDATE:Our ceiling collapsed as a result of something from our AC. We called Radiant to help us identify the cause and provide a fix.The beginning process with Radiant was very positive. Everything was explained clearly and work seemed diligent. The day they performed their repair I asked for verification to show that what we were replacing was infact leaking once it was removed. Upon testing it, their diagnosis was wrong. There was no leak in the pan. We had just spent a lot of money out of pocket to get this fixed and the proposed solution was wrong. I asked if they could swap it back, the answer was no. Now we are out a lot of money and still don't know what caused our ceiling to collapse. We were told we needed to finish the process and that they could leave a note for their manager to call us back.I was very empathetic and understanding and have been waiting to hear from a manager. They said they would call Monday. No call. They said they would call as soon as they were in today, no call. This is very frustrating. People make mistakes and I understand, but they also need to take responsibility for their mistakes and make things right with customers. I am very disappointed.Original Positive Review:We have been in the process of working with Anthony to determine the source of water in our ceiling. His approach so far has been methodical and he has been extremely forthright and honest with us on his findings. He wrote up an ABC solution so we had options on how to proceed with our HVAC problems. We appreciate his professionalism and are happy to be working with him on fixing our issue.

Had a different AC company come out about two months ago and basically did more damage than good. Had Troy from Radiant come out yesterday and did a pretty amazing job at fixing everything that was broken. He also took his time to show me everything he did and little tricks that I can do to keep my AC running till my next scheduled service. Needless to say I’m very pleased with Radiant and Troy will be my go to guy.

Had a technician by the name of Alex R (from San Antonio)came out to service our AC unit and thermostat. He was professional, kind and knowledgeable. He excused himself amd ask permission which is hard to find now and days. I do recommend this company to anyone, especially our technician Alex.

Troy was our tech and did an excellent job! He was very thorough and explained each step along the way. He had us up in running the same day, and we’re nice and warm tonight. We would highly recommend their HVAC services, and will also give them a shot at our plumbing business next time we have a need.

Lucas came out and gave me a friendly analysis of my AC unit and what was going on with it. Sucks that I have to probably get a new Indoor AC unit or take my chances with just adding a couple pounds of Freon and doing my “band aid” procedure that who knows, probably not last so long, but that’s why they call it a band-aid lol. Anyways, let’s see what I’ll do, in the meantime but thank you Lucas our HVAC tech, he was very friendly and helpful and very informative!

My AC stopped working. I was told my coil needed to be replaced as well as the fan motor. The replacement happened the following day which took most of the day. The unit appeared to be working when they finished on friday afternoon. The repair was pricey despite the fact that i was told the parts were under warranty. I asked for an itemized receipt and have not received one which i find inappropriate. I have a right to know what i am paying for. Additionally, the new merged company (i was a Schmidt Mechanical customer) no longer gives an estimated time for appointments unless you insist on the first appointment in the morning nor do the technicians text when they are enroute. All that having been said, Heather got Troy to my house on Tuesday first appt after i came home Monday at 6pm after a day of hiking in the heat to a house with no AC. Troy quickly found the problem related to how the condensation pvc pipe was installed. The poor connection to my pump allowed water to fill the pan and caused the cutoff switch to activate. AC is now working. Troy did great.I am not a big fan of many of the changes i have seen since Schmidt became Radiant.

Great technicians all around! Troy is a wealth of knowledge! Experienced technicians who know how to diagnose the AC system in and out and, better yet, explain it in plain English too! I'm glad I got their maintenance plan. Service contracts and repair services are a bit pricey though (its why I took off one star), but hey...you get what you pay for. With these guys you definitely get what you pay for.Had him work on my AC for the 2nd time. Gives it to me straight, the good, the bad and the ugly and always leaves me with options on which path to take. Now the prices are fairly high but you get what you pay for in this industry.

Today on august 25 2022 Alex repaired my AC, it was leaking water from the air ducts and since that was happening I was afraid my home would be damaged by water. The technician, Alex Rymers, that came to do a preventive maintenance and service on our furnace was fantastic. He was very professional and thorough and made sure to explain all his findings with us. We had an older unit that we knew would need to be replaced and Alex caught the problems before they became huge failures. We worked with Graham Jaroski to get a new unit. He was excellent at explaining all the options, getting financing set up and even got us scheduled for the next day. The crew that did the install did a great job. Called Radient on Sunday afternoon because my AC stopped working. Was pleasantly surprised when Heather answered the phone. She set up an appointment for a technician to come by the next day. Troy (tech) showed up on time and replaced a part that thankfully worked. He went over some repair options and suggested I make an appointment to get an estimate for a replacement of my HVAC.

The technician Troy Barnett was extremely detailed and provided extremely helpful information about the condition of my unit. He was on time and was able to explain what was wrong with the unit and what needed to be replaced in order for the unit to be working. He went over what the components where and why they needed to be replaced. He was extremely honest and professional.

We needed to replace our 24 year old air conditioner. We entertained several bids and chose Schmidt Mechanic. Their sales rep, Jared, was professional and knowledgeable m, giving us 6 options. We were able to tailor the unit to our needs and budget. The unit was installed in one day and the two installers, Jonas and Alan were so professional. We are very please with the work done and can’t wait to see how much we save on our electric bill next month!

It is obvious that when Schmidt switched to Radiant, their friendly customer service model changed to a corporate style business model. I had a problem with my heating unit. The Tech walks in and first thing he immediately shares with me is a laminated price list. I listened and asked him to see the unit. He seemed like a salesperson with not much technical experience. He went by the book and listed many things that could have happened to my unit. I left him in the attic for 30 min, then went back in and he was reading a binder and told me he is studying the circuit diagram. I immediately called another HVAC company and made an appointment (without telling him). When he was done after 1 hour, he gave me a shopping list of what needs to be replaced one of which was a $3,500 heat exchanger. Long story short, he left. The tech from the second company came and told me it is the fire sensor. To be sure, I made an appointment with a 3rd company and was told about the same thing. I specifically asked them if the heat exchanger was cracked. Both explained in the same way that IF it was cracked, the fire etc should look like this…, showing me a video and assuring me that the hear exchanger was just fine. I say bye to Radiant. I wish they stayed true to the Schmidt business model that did not involve scare tactics.

I couldn't believe we were able to get an appointment -first of all on a Sunday, on the same day I called, ON EASTER. From the initial phone call/texts to wrapping up the service call we couldn't have been more grateful. Each interaction was professional, kind, knowledgeable, and extremely timely. First off loved the Ad commercial on the radio so decided to try them. Met Anthony in parking lot, was very professional. respectful, and courteous while on lunch break. Very knowledgeable. Anthony was fantastic. He Installed my ecobee thermostat fixing wiring problems. Would recommend to anyone. Also verify my gas heater was properly venting.

Mitchell arrived in a timely manner and claimed he did a thorough inspection of our HVAC system. He was friendly and professional. He presented repair options and arranged a conversation with their sales team to discuss replacement options too. Happy with the service I received.Update: What I left out was he was willing to attempt a repair with no guarantee it would work. Regardless, it would run about $450 for one of two units. The second, he insisted, could not be fixed. In total, he suggested that the heat exchanger can be repaired, but will cost over $2000. The follow motors will cost about $4000 to repair/replace.The sales person reached out a few days later and explained that based on the repair cost is would be beneficial to replace both furnaces at a cost of $9K-$20K each.A second opinion from a licensed and insured repairman, confirmed that the faulty part needed replacing, but it could be done for about $500 for both units. Neither furnaces were in bad enough shape to warrant replacement in any regard.I opted not to use Radiant Plumbing and Air Conditioning. Not a fan of being mislead to spend thousands of dollars when a couple hundred dollars and 30 minutes would do the trick.

Lucas was wonderful adjusted the system and I can tell the difference and he only left 15 minutes ago!!!Great communication!!!!! You always know what is going on, from when you call in for service, your appointment set, they call to remind you, call if tech is running late, call when tech is on the way. Once technician is on sight introduces themselves, listens to what your complaint is, they inspect, diagnosed and then they give you several options to choose from being from just the Band-Aid on it to keep it going or to fix it totally and everything in-between.

Alex performed the winter service on my unit. This business along with Alex, are very professional and upfront about everything. To be transparent, this is the maintenance included with the purchase of a unit from them. I was informed about everything to include pictures as proof. I was told that my unit is 100% and very clean and again pictures to prove it. I was reccomended this business by a friend and glad he did. The initial purchase experience was also amazing. I had contacted 5 other businesses to get quotes about a new unit as my upstairs unit failed. 2 were outrageous quotes and I am technically still waiting on the other 3. On every instance of getting a quote, I waited about 1 week. Luckily my house has two units but still, un acceptable especially during the summer. I guess they all had so much business they did not care for mine. When I called this business not only did they come out the same day, I had the new unit installed with in 48 hrs. Oh and let's not forget the quote they gave me was the lowest of all. I can say enough good things about this business. Keep up the great work.

Jason Cruz was the AC service technician that came out to do a standard cleaning on my AC system. He was extremely patient with my questions as he walked me through everything he was doing. He cleaned the outside AC unit all the while talking and petting with my dogs who would not leave him alone. Extremely friendly! I was set up with a 10-12 time frame, and he showed up at 10:10! I was the one who was late, as I was running a quick errand.

I've been using Schmidt Mechanical for a year and they seem pretty competent and honest. Their annual maintenance plan is a pretty good deal, $79 for two check-ups. Jose did my last A/C maintenance. He found a burnt-out capacitor and gave me several options for replacing it without being pushy. I told him I was thinking about replacing the whole system, and he gave me some information about that, too. He was very neat, polite, and respectful.UPDATE: Schmidt Mechanical sent Jared out to survey my system and give me a presentation on replacement options. He gave me 6 options. His presentation was polished and thorough. He explained the different options and features in a way I could understand. I feel like he listened to me, was respectful, and was responsive to my subsequent emails. I got a 2nd quote from another company, but they gave me only 1 option, didn't listen to me, didn't give any sort of presentation, and took over a day to even get me the quote after I reminded them. Consequently, I chose Schmidt Mechanical to replace my system. Now we'll see how the install goes.UPDATE: The install went well. The technicians were neat & courteous and explained how to use the smart thermostat. I've had no problems so far.UPDATE: The thermostat stopped working, so I called Schmidt on the Sunday before Labor Day, and James came out within 2 hours. He diagnosed the problem right away, corrected the problem, and was on his way a short time later, and I had A/C again.UPDATE: The thermostat stopped working again. Matthew came out within an hour and diagnosed the problem as a wiring short. However, after installing a new thermostat, there was still a problem, which took several hours to troubleshoot and fix, but he stuck with it until it was resolved.

Schmidt Mechanical serviced my air conditioner. It was blowing hot air. I called them today, and a service person came within an hour, which was much faster than I expected. He diagnosed the problem, fixed some wiring and replaced a blown capacitor, and got the AC blowing cool air again. He was professional, knowledgeable, polite, and wore a mask and shoe covers over his boots. I am a repeat customer of Schmidt, because they are honest and have always provided excellent customer service and skilled workmanship. I have an older AC, and their service plans for maintenance are great. As a platinum plan member, my service call fee of $59 was waived, and I simply paid for the repairs today.

This was my first time having them come over to fix my AC and it was a great experience. The company provides outstanding customer service and are very professional. I like the fact that I get a phone call approximately 30 minutes from the technician’s arrival time AND a text message with a picture of the tech along with their biography. It is such a unique experience and I love it. Our tech Jose Aranda was amazing too. We explained our situation and he identified the issue right away. Once he confirmed the issue he went out and got the part and had us fixed up in no time. This review doesn’t really do justice to the high level of knowledge, professionalism and courtesy we received from Jose and Schmidt Mechanical group. We needed a new air conditioning system because ours was over 15 years old. I decided to get several estimates from different companies here in San Antonio. Each company seemed to have outrageous prices and wanted to put me into something that was above what I needed. I decided to try one more company, Schmidt Mechanical. I went on their website early in the morning and filled out my information asking for someone to contact me. By the end of the same day, Jared was sitting at our table. I told him specifically what I wanted and what I did not want, since I had gained quite a bit of information from my interaction with other companies. We had a lot of fun sitting at the table and talking about many things, but when he put pen to paper, and gave us three choices of product, service, warranties, etc., we knew right away that Schmidt Mechanical was far superior to other companies in town. We sealed the deal and decided that the following Monday would be installation day. Keeping in mind, that would be one week from the day that we sat down and closed. The very next night, our old unit decided to call it quits and we still had six more nights to go until we get the new system. I called the after hours service line and they sent someone out by 10 o’clock that night, but unfortunately the unit couldn’t even carry electricity to be repaired. They didn’t even charge me for that service call. The next morning I called the company to ask if they had any suggestions on what we could do in the meantime. They put their heads together to come up with a solution. We were very thankful to Keith when he called to tell us they were able to rearrange schedules and carve out time in order to have our new AC unit installed two days later. Schmidt Mechanical Group as a whole is amazing, Receptionist, Dispatch, Senior Mechanic and of course the Owners.I work from home now so having a working AC is pretty vital and every second it's not, seems like an eternity.I have received quotes for quick fixes and for complete AC replacement in the past. I just knew this go around I was going to have to break down and purchase a new AC unit. The owner sent their Senior Mechanic, Troy, to assess the situation. I could not be more pleased with the service Troy provided. He was honest and thorough. I will need to replace my outside unit at some point but for now there is still some life left in my current, 20 year old unit. Troy replaced a few parts and before long, cold air was blowing. Another great service call! Same day I called for service. Troy came out to service what I thought was my AC unit but turned out to be my thermostat. Changed it out and we are back in service again! I called Schmidt Mechanical to get a second opinion on duct work repairs and I'm glad I did. Jared came out and did am assessment on our house and offered several options to fix out issue with certain rooms being hotter than others. They were able to rework a few runs and seal all the others. We weren't completely satisfied at first but Schmidt sent a technician out and he was able to resolve our concerns. Again this was a second opinion and they saved us over $8,000 and completed work another company said couldn't be done. They definitely earned a customer for life and I was very impressed with their knowledge, professionalism, understanding, price and willingness to continue to come out until the job was done to 100% satisfaction. You don't often find companies like this so definitely refreshing when you do and to know they are not out to charge you for things you don't need.

I love RADIANT!!! ALEX was wonderful!!!! I am disabled and have a young daughter. Our A/C went out, and I called Radiant to help, Alex came out, looked everything over really well, Then, asked me where my main breaker box was,so I showed him, the thing had tripped!!! I removed one star from previous 5 stars!!!!The installation team left the trash, the replaced old parts in my attic and even didn’t tell me. I emphasized couple of times to Ken and installation team, “don’t leave trash in my attic”. They promised me but they didn’t do it. I shouldn’t have told them that we hardly entered the attic!!!Today12/10/2021, they came to do the heater turn up. Very careful inspection and detailed report from 8:00am to 1:00pm I’m appreciated it, but not what I expect to hear. I know my machines are really old and poor. If I want to extend their lifespan, I should put a lot of money on it. But I paid for the yearly turn up maintenance in order to know what you can do to help with it not only a money plan for me. For example, falling leaves in the machine, cleaned for me or not? Why not? Have checked and adjusted anything related to the heater? It’s not only a hvac inspection. So I should give one star on the detailed report and multiple suggestions of plans, but didn’t do so for not hearing anything done for helping my poor machine.Six months ago.We replaced our 2007 hvac. We met two dealers and chose Schmidt because of cheaper quota and longer warranty. Especially, sales man Ken promised to come on the installation day to tell their technicians what I was concerned. He did come the next day with technician and supervised on their setting up the site. We used new machine for one day. We only need to set 76 degree in the afternoon instead of 72 before. Good machine.

Troy was amazing! He is very knowledgeable and honest. I called them out for a second opinion on my broken air conditioning unit, because the company that my home warranty sent out told me it needed a new compressor and several other parts that would cost me $3,600. Troy found the REAL problem, which was just a bad contact, and was able to fix it for 90% LESS! He also checked out the entire system, changed the filter, and gave me a lot of advice on how to keep my system running for many years to come.I HIGHLY recommend Schmidt Mechanical for all a/c work!

The snow storm of the century killed my hvac. I filled out an online request on Sunday morning. Technician arrived by noon. He informed me of the problem with the unit and made recommendations. He contacted their system engineer and he came out Sunday evening, did a walk through to determine what was needed then presented me with 7 different options. Monday morning they sent a driver to Austin to pick up the new unit and had it installed by the time I got home from work!!! Amazing professional service! I wasn't sure if a potential leak was just runoff from the AC unit or not. Lucas identified the issue was with the water heater and called in for another technician to come check it out. While he was here, he did a routine maintenance check on the hvac. He identified some pieces that were a bit scorched, and replaced them without issue. He even called and found out that I was still under warranty for some of the pieces. He was extremely nice, polite and personable. I will definitely call Radiant again!

Schmidt Mechanical Group came highly recommended to me by a neighbor, and it was an excellent recommendation. I received a call about an hour before arrival that the tech was on his way, and he arrived in an hour. Johnny G. was courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. He explained what he was going to do before he started, wore foot covers when he worked inside our home, and went over the results thoroughly when the work was completed. I was able to extend the coupon discount I received (half off) for an additional year of service.Great service!

Overall, very professional, but overpriced. They were a couple hours late, but dispatch did a good job keeping me updated on ETA. Was impressed with the tech and his thorough diagnosis, but their prices are ridiculously high. They lure you in with a very reasonable diagnosis fee, but beware - labor and material are not competitive, at least not for plumbing services.UPDATE: Reducing the review to 1 star. Why? Because even the diagnosis of the main issue I had was completely wrong. Had a pressure issue and was told I needed my PRV replaced at the main line. Found out from new plumber I don't even have a PRV! The real issue was my water softener, which wasn't even on Radiant's radar of things I needed to fix.

Called and managed to get service the same day. Troy was great, very helpful! Besides looking at the issue that I called for he made sure that everything around the issue was functioning.

Kudos to both technicians, Mason Lucas & Juan Rubio!! Not only did they do a great job of installing the new unit, but they did it during a massive down pour. I was very impressed; they did an awesome job of cleaning up, inside and out. No mud tracked through my house. I would recommend they to all my family and friends.

From the time we met Jared for the estimate until the 2 installers left, we had a completely professional experience with them. We had questions during the installation about the work being done and Jared was able to answer them to our satisfaction with a phone call. They were very kind, respectful, and responsive.I contacted 3 companies for estimates and the others did not follow up and one took days to reschedule the estimate and then didn’t even send it to us. Schmidt is what you should expect in customer service. We got an 18 SEER 5 ton Trane unit to replace our 20 year old system. We are super happy we found Schmidt Mechanical.

Good value for my money. Was fortunate to get an earlier time than my scheduled visit offer from them. Very knowledgeable technician and explained everything clearly. Performed my scheduled maintenance and offered suggestions for additional repairs which we went ahead and made. Additional repairs were priced at industry standard price which was more than fair and we got a discount due to having purchased the platinum package before hand for yearly maintenance. Definitely a good call and more than recommend.

Troy Barnett came over and was able to fully check the system and also had a starter kit and surge protector installed upon our request since the unit was extremely loud when it was turning on and was chewing through capacitors. Also fully cleaned the drain line on top of the full system check and was thorough on explaining what to keep an eye on in order to keep the system running in top shape. We have been using Radiant (formerly Schmidt Mechanical) for the past 9 years now since our first home and have always been pleased with the service.

Whereas most AC companies I've dealt with have complicated / confusing pricing schemes and their representatives are more of a sales reps as opposed to honest advisers, Schmidt Mechanical Group's representative was very thorough, professional, responsive, and simplified things to ensure I understood each product and cost. He provided me estimates for five different options. My neighbors recommended this company through our FB page and I'm glad I hired them as my AC replacement and service provider. I truly believe this company to value integrity and felt the representative was very honest. Their honesty, value, and quality of work (they back this up) is what sealed the deal for me. The independent reviews substantiate this as well.

Had 3 different systems installed by them approx. 3 years ago for a total of approx $20k. I was quite happy with the install until the year later when they came for a maintenance call and started finding deficiencies in their own install. they wanted extra money to address those deficiencies. Now I am in the process of selling my home and an inspector has found a few items that need to be addressed and they will not even look at the report unless I schedule a $139.00 service call. Very poor customer service.. This company does not stand by their work and would not recommend.I am revising my review of this business from 1 to 5 stars. After my original review I was contacted by the company's service manager and he made sure that I was taken care off. I had a team of 3 technicians coming to my house to double check the system and make the necessary adjustments. I was very satisfied by their attention to details and professionalism.

We (I & my wife) have hired this company to replace our old A/C system with a new Heating & Air Conditioning System, and we are very pleased and satisfied with all related jobs done by this company. Shawn Pickens, replacement specialist, was the total professional, very knowledgeable and educated on the product he represent. This is our third experience with Schmidt in the last 6 years. They installed our new unit in 2012 and we've had no problems with it beyond expected maintenance. They have always been dependable and reliable, communicating well about arrival times and estimates so there were no surprises. The two technicians that have been to our house were both professional and knowledgeable and gave us good advice. I don't know if they are the least expensive service but I think you get what you pay for and the peace of mind that comes with their service is worth it. I have been very happy with my service from Schmidt. They do an excellent job of communicating with their customers and on this most recent call were able to send someone the same day. Richard has serviced my unit twice and both times found very minor problems for which there was no charge. In addition, their spring and fall checkups have kept my unit running well.

Cesar our technician was great . He showed up on time and was very professional . We just moved into this house so we were unaware of some of the systems and this was our first winter season . Cesar was able to quickly identify that our gas had somehow been disconnected and was preventing our heater to go on . What a great blessing . He partnered well with the CPS technician and We now have heat He tested everything and we are good to go !

I have used Schmidt for the last 3 years. In Mar my service was performed by Greg Thomas. He is knowledgeable, outstanding, professional & courteous. In mid May was having issues with my A/C, called for service and Greg was the technician who responded. I explained what I was hearing and that I turned off the A/C since I did not know what it was. Told me I did the right thing to turn off the A/C. He was thorough and professional as always. Found the issue and fixed it. As he was leaving he said he will check on when my next service is due. It is because of the outstanding service of technicians like Greg and Richard who listen to my concerns that I will continue my business with Schmidt Mechanical Group Inc..I have used other companies before but Schmidt is the best. Redeemed an Angie's list coupon for a checkup and freon recharge if needed. My AC is an older unit. Schmidt was very quick to respond and called first thing next morning to set an appointment. I got a 4_6 window appt for the following week. Which was today 7-16. Schmidt did a great job with communication. Called day before and sent text updates day of complete with pic of the tech . Tech Juan showed up at four thirty. He went straight to work looked at my system checked it out and quickly found a problem. A bad capacitor. He was very honest and willing to work with me on how I much I wanted to spend or not. I decided that I just need a fix for now so I paid for the capacitor replacement. He is going to work on a competitive estimate to replace the whole new system. I look forward to seeing his numbers.

Our experiences with Schmidt Mechanical is shown in every star of the 5 star ratings. I would have clicked the maximum number whatever it was! Service was simply stellar. We had Heat Pump problems, Drain problems, and Hvac problems. We experienced the worst contractors over time and eventually got lucky getting Schmidt. Each service tech they sent fixed our problems, took the time to explain the situation and did the job quickly. The best thing I liked was learning how my house handled the different issues that I had. They took the time to listen to my questions while getting their job done expertly the first time. A wonderful company and with always cheerful, pleasant people when contact with them was necessary. Any A/C problems and we'll be back.

Great service. Our A/C stopped blowing cold air on an early Monday morning. After many calls to other business, the earliest anyone could come to our home would be Tuesday afternoon.Not so with Schmidt Mechanical Group. They offered a time frame from 4-6 that day, arrived right at 4, with a 30 min ahead call and a picture of the tech being sent to my home.Courteous and respectful, the job was done quickly and we are now in a comfortably cooler home :) highly recommend.

This company let me down. Had a 10am appointment and no one showed. No phone call, text, email or voicemail as to why there was a problem. Called customer service and just got a very rude and argumentative individual who said I should just wait until a technician got around to calling me. Really?? This company seems to be more plumbing centric than HVAC centric now that they've merged with some plumbing company out of Austin. Haven't had any problems in the past. Only now.

The day before my appt Radiant contacted me with a timeframe to expect my tech. 20 minutes prior to his arrival I received a text with a picture and name of which tech to expect. From the time I spoke to the main office, to the time Eric arrived, I felt that my problem could and would be solved in short order. I was made aware of the weekend pricing for a service call and anything that needed to be done. Since week days are hard to be at home I opted for the weekend time and rate. For me it was well worth it to get my AC back up and running.Eric arrived as scheduled. He was knowledgeable about our AC system and took care of our plugged outlet line. He spent time answering my questions and explaining the problem. He was very courteous and cleaned up the area when he finished. Highly recommend them for their customer service and professionalism.

Had Schmidt install a mini-split unit in our master bedroom, they were extremely professional and very accommodating. They worked with our schedule and left everything spotless. The unit is fantastic, I wish we would have installed it years ago. This is our second experience with Schmidt and they have been fantastic both times. That is exactly the reason we went to them the second time we needed air conditioning services.

What I liked about Schmidt Mechanical was all the pre and post communications that happened before the actual visit. I also received a text, with the technician's photograph, indicating that the tech was on the way and I could expect him within a certain amount of time. That is so very helpful and unlike other companies who keep you waiting like Time Warner...James Melton, the technician, was courteous and knowledgeable. I appreciated his 20 years of AC experience and his explanation of the work to be done as well as the benefits of the three levels of plans available. He told us that we could save money by going with the second level, the Gold Plan, and did not push the most expensive plan.We would like to request that James conduct our fall checkup as well.

We had issues with our AC. Schmidt offered same day and/or next day availability. The tech was professional and genuinely concerned in addressing our issues. The pricing for a replacement part was high, but when added to a low service call fee, the overall service cost seemed to be competitive with other companies.

On the day of my appointment, I received a call that the tech would arrive in 20-30 minutes. The technician, Gilbert, was prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous. After inspecting my system, he explained the problems he found and gave me available options. He even put on shoe covers when he came inside my house!. He discovered that the condenser motor was running at almost double the amps. Since the unit is still under warranty, Gilbert was able to resolve the issue with the manufacturer, get the new motor, & install it all on the same day! He also checked the whole system and added some Freon. He left all contact information about my system including photos & stats. I appreciated the time he took to make sure we understood maintenance options. Thanks!

I have had a lot of A/C issues in the past 6 years... a lot! And every time my home warranty sent out a company, they were shady, did a patch job, and at times I was concerned for my safety. But this time they sent out Schmidt!! Wow! They called me right away, had availability right away and showed up when they said they would. Great communications...I received several emails reminding of the date and time of the appointment & received an email on the day of service with the technicians name, picture, and background to include his family (number of kids, grand kids, etc.). Schmidt also called me (Autumn was her name and she was great!) to let me know the technician was on his way to my house. 2. Outstanding service...Jose was the technician and I've never had better service than what he provided. He kept me informed on what he was doing, what was malfunctioning as well as what he had to replace. A total professional! If you get Jose, you're in good hands! 3. No pressure, no trying to up sell me...Jose explained the companies membership/periodic maintenance programs thoroughly along with some recommended upgrades (e.g., circuit breaker box surge protector) as well as the costs associated with the different levels. Very reasonable introductory Annual Plan with both an AC and Heating Unit Check-Up; also very good with maintaining contact and updating You with scheduled visits! Had my initial appointment changed due to high emergency call volume but they were able to accommodate a late visit request and Tech contacted with a detailed e-mail & text and even sent a pic of himself for security purposes!! First time using them but, all in all, so far so good--keep everyone updated should things change! ??

Air condition went out in the heat of the day on July 5th and my wife and I called several companies but received no response. My wife made a call to Schmidt and within 10 minutes we received a phone call from Technician Troy. He gave us a time of arrival and was there on time. Troy was very professional and tackled the issue right away. He got the job done in a timely manner and most importantly did not leave a mess. We really appreciate the call back and the quality and professionalism from Schmidt mechanical and will recommend them to family and friends.

We knew nothing about all the different types of units and when he was done we felt very educated and informed. He was patient from start to finish. I located Schmidt Mechanical Group through my home warranty provider. I was very impressed with their initial service performed and agreed to have their new system salesperson, Jared, come out and provide a quote for a new system. Jared arrived on-time and did a phenomenal job providing recommendations on what we needed to replace our 15-year-old system. We agreed to a new installation and scheduled it for August 9, 2018. Overall, I am pleased with our new system and the comfort it provides.

Excellent work and follow through. We signed up for the yearly inspection, and we're so glad that we did. Schmidt employee came out to check our cooling system and fixed our air conditioner so that it worked less hard and more efficiently. In the fall, they found nothing wrong with our heater. I've used Schmidt three times in the last sixmonths for different issues. I liked that they were a neighborhood business and knew that the owners lived in the neighborhood. When I called the first time and gave my address, they recognized me from the description of my house AND my dogs!Both times the service I got was extremely good. The first issue was with a broken thermostat, and the technician listened to my needs, and recommended that I use the more economical one due to my lifestyle .The second time the problem was different , and more serious. The technician, Ray, quickly familiarized himself with our system, diagnosed the problem, and repaired it quickly. I was highly impressed and will be calling them back again to provide regular service.I have had occasion to have Schmidt out for a third time. After the very cold weather hit our heat pump was not working. After replacing a control board on the unit it still did not work properly. I mentioned that the heat pump function had never seemed to work and that for the unit to heat I had to turn the thermostat to Emergency Heat, a function the new thermostat didn't have. The technician replaced the thermostat with a upgraded model and the unit still didn't work. After an hour or so of experimenting, he determined that the original installers had switched and mismatched the color coded wires from the unit to the thermostat at a now inaccessible point under the house. He then went out and rewired the unit and now the heat pump works as it should and better than it has since it was installed.Most recently I had them scheduled for routine check up. Weather was hot humid and horrid not to mention the dangerous heat index. My units were working fine. They called and politely asked if they could reschedule as they had a couple of elderly customers who hadn’t had air conditioning in two days. I love their concern for the customer. They came this week checked both units, confirmed they were working fine and gave excellent advice about oldest unit.

Alex was wonderful and answered all my questions and concerns that I had about my unit even showed concerns that he saw that might affect my unit in the future and gave me options to take. Very good customer service. Will ask for him on my next service.

My wife and I returned from a five-day trip to find our air conditioner out in our main living areas. The cumulative effect of days without cooling and outside temperatures near 100 degrees was stifling. I contacted my home warranty company and they put us in touch with Schmidt Mechanical Group, an organization I had never heard of before. The following day, well ahead of the time our warranty folks had told us to expect a call, we heard from the dispatch folks at Schmidt. They scheduled us for the next afternoon, the earliest they could send a technician. Forty-five minutes before the appointment, we got a call from that technician, Eric, telling us he was on his way. He arrived on time, in a neat uniform, and ready to go to work immediately. He checked the inside thermostat and the outside cooling unit, determined the likely cause of failure, replaced the part, and then ran water from our hose over the overheated portion of the outside unit while giving my wife and me a brief recap of what he had done. Eric was on-time and on-course with restoring my family's comfort. After hearing air conditioning repair horror stories from others in the vicinity, I was delighted that Eric professionally completed the repair and made no attempt to upsell us on parts or a new unit. When the time comes when we do require a new unit, I will remember that. Bottom line, our experience with the Schmidt Mechanical Group was first rate from the time they made initial contact through the completion of the necessary repairs. Definitely a thumbs up.

I got a great deal on Groupon! As soon as I requested service, they called me right away to set up an appt. I received several reminders via call/text/email. Alex showed up during the scheduled time, shortly after receiving a text that the tech was on their way (even included a pic of the tech). He was quick to get to work after introducing himself and finished fast. He showed up in a mask and left it on the entire time. Did a review of his findings of my AC tune up and topped off the freon for free (as part of Groupon deal) before he left. Very satisfied with this service.

The company as a whole is very professional. What started out as simple maintenance on my old unit, turned into having to buy a whole new unit. The salesman wasn’t too aggressive when I told him I’d have to wait a couple of months to make my purchase. Entire unit was installed on the scheduled date and was complete within the quoted time. When I was having issue using the new thermostat, they came back to the house and walked me through the steps without hesitation.

called on a Friday about my AC issue and could not get an appointment until Tuesday morning between 8-10. At 0930 Tuesday morning still no technician and when I called dispatcher advised he was tied up on a call from last night. Finally got the text that my technician Greg was otw and they provided a picture. Love this since it gave a sense of security. When my technician arrived, he was professional and cordial. Greg explained what was going on and assisted me through the process. He also explained why I could not get an earlier service(warranty calls are only done M-F 8-5). Greg overall explained what next steps I needed and the best course of action; he also assisted me in getting service calls for a year. So despite the beginning issues and hassle, my technician Greg made it all better. Thank Schmidt Mechanical for sending me someone with great customer service. *Edit* I'm dropping my rating for Schmidt Mechanical, unfortunately. My air conditioner wasn't able to keep the house cool again, so I called them back out to figure out why. What the technician told me was my condenser coils on the inside and outside units were both severely clogged and believed that was why the AC wasn't able to cool the house properly.The first time I had them out was around late April or early May for a maintenance check. Based on the amount of congestion on the coils, the technician admitted it wasn't possible to accumulate that much by the end of July and that it should have been addressed on the initial maintenance check.The second time Schmidt came to the house was July 3rd because the AC wasn't cooling at all. When the technician arrived for that appointment I was told the capacitor had blown out. I had it replaced and things seemed fine. Today's technician told me he believed the capacitor blew because of the clogged coils and should have been addressed at that time as well.So, twice a representative from Schmidt missed a potential serious problem when servicing my air conditioner. I'm told that to properly clean the condenser coils will take time and may not be able to done today since there's a lot to do for it. Also, it requires an alkaline solution which isn't in the service van.Fortunately, when I spoke with the service manager he agreed that the cost of the second service call where the capacitor was replaced should be deducted from the cost of the new recommended repairs. I am also being placed on tomorrow's schedule early in the morning so I won't have to worry about the AC much longer. * End Edit *Today was the second time I've had Schmidt Mechanical to my house. The first was from a Groupon for a maintenance checkup for my AC that would fill add up to 2 pounds of freon for free. The tech that came was on time and very professional and courteous.Today's visit was because my AC wasn't cooling. I called around 10:30 Friday morning on July 3rd. I was expecting either to have to pay an after hours fee to come out on the weekend or wait until Monday. This was the Friday before a holiday, after all. Instead, I was able to get an appointment between 2 and 4 the same day. A tech became available before that and Schmidt called to see if we were available for an earlier time. I thought that was great considering they didn't need to offer that. The capacitor on the outside unit had gone bad. I was shown the bad part and was explained why it was not working. The tech told me other possible problems that could occur from the part going out and what it would cost for a new one. The tech had the part available and was here and gone in less than an hour. And I had cool air again!Both times a tech from Schmidt came out we were texted a picture of the employee who was coming. They were masked and followed social distancing guidelines. Very pleased with this company and feel comfortable recommending them to anyone needing AC service.

I have used Schmidt Mechanical sine 2012 - so they have seen me through seasonal maintenance, replacements of thermostats and HVAC units, repairs on a weekend and of course - replacement of ducts under house due to enthusiastic urban raccoon population. They are knowledgeable, fair and trustworthy - they do not try to sell you something that is not necessary, but if you ask - they have good recommendations on what might make your system more efficient. Jared J the sales rep (Comfort Advisor) was very pationate and Profesional. He came to our home assessed our needs and gave us multiple options to choose from. He explained the benifits of all options and answered the many questions we had. We were able to take advantage of 0% interest for 72 months. The technician helped set up our iPhones to link with the system and explained how to operate the new system. Excellent technician, Richard Gutierrez, diagnosed why my AC primary drain line was clogged again after one year. He replaced the nylon pipe with PVC pipe and flushed the drain. There was no damage to carpeting, and Richard cleaned the work area when he finished. He carefully explained the options to handle my problem and all aspects of the servicing he did. I would definitely trust Richard’s expertise.

My technician came at the exact time he said he would be here. Had a couple follow up calls from the office about the service Inrequested. Everyone was very professional and could not be more pleased. I went ahead and agreed to a maintenance check on my systems because I had never had that done and James explanation was very detailed and honest that I agreed to get it done same day. We had our compressor seize up this summer and was looking at having to replace a whole AC unit in this triple digit heat. I was looking at a couple of bids but settled on Schmidt on the recommendation of one of my friends in the neighborhood who also had his AC replaced by them. Jared was great listening to our concerns and was the only one who addressed an issue about our master bedroom being warmer in summer and cooler in winter due to the fact we had no return exchange in the room. They were able to install the AC and put in an exchange the very next day! The crew replaced the old unit professionally and were fast. Took them maybe 4 hours to put in. I could not be happier with the install! Plus the maintenance and service calls are so much more affordable than the last company I had used for the last 10 years.

Unfortunately for some companies, all it takes is one employee to ruin your impression. By the reviews, I can tell this is a good company.Our AC went out in September when it was still very hot. We called our warrant company and they assigned Schmidt Mech. to fix the issue. Luis came out on a Wednesday and was very nice. He collected their $60 service fee and looked it over and added freon. That didn't fix the issue. I called Schmidt on Thursday, the next day. Of course they don't have same day service, so they had to send someone out Friday. Luis came back after 5 pm. He said there would be another $60 fee.I asked why. He said for the service. I said the service was not completed and there should not be another fee. I'm just doing my job is what he told me.It's after hours so I can't call Schmidt. I called our warrant company who verified the contract said there should not be a fee for fixing the same issue. The rep asked to speak to Luis. Luis refused to talk to the rep. That's not my job.He said if we don't pay him, he has to leave for another job. It felt like bribery since that would mean the whole weekend and Monday without an AC.It made me sick to my stomach but I had to go to the ATM and pay him.The good news for Schmidt is that when I called the Monday morning, their office could not have been more apologetic and worked diligently to get the problem fixed and give me my money back.They told me Luis was new and just didn't know. I said, no he knew. If i don't know something I'll search for the answer. He refused to speak to the warranty company rep and held his ground.This is a good company, no doubt, but all it takes is the actions of one employee to leave a lasting image.

The check up on our new unit went great. The tech was very professional and very informative. We are very happy with our decision to have Schmidt Mechanical Group replace our system. We will continue to call them for service as it is needed.

One of our units went down around 7pm and they had a technician by noon the next day. Pretty fast since it is busy season. James Melton came out and found our capacitor went out and needed to be replaced. The price was good and he fixed it quick. Would recommend Schmidt Mechanical to others.

From the first consultation that I had with Jared to reviewing options and available promotions and financing packages to agreement to purchase, and final installation, I came away a satisfied customer. The most important aspect of this is knowing that the job is done right the first time. Both service technicians Stephen and Albert were prompt, professional, and courteous. The quality of the installation was noticeable and the instructions on setting up the thermostat were clear and easy to understand. I turned to Schmidt after a poor experience with another vendor; I was frustrated and apprehensive of potentially experiencing another headache, but was not only wrong, but gained the trust of a company I know I can turn to with all future issues with my AC. The issue we experienced was not a typical commonly seen problem so this repair required several days and several different repairs, yet each time the Tech came to my house I was given honest feedback and explanations that allowed me to better understand why there seem to be such a struggle with fixing the AC. Regardless, after this experience I know that when we have any issues I can turn to Schmidt and I know I will receive top of the line honest service.

Had the unfortunate experience of an AC going out in the middle of the night. The next morning, I reached out via social media asking for referrals of an AC company that would NOT try to rip me off. Schmidt Mechanical was given the most referrals from my friends. Placed a call to them and they were out the same morning. Rusty came out and was very polite, courteous and knowledgeable. He quickly assessed the problem. Was given a fair and reasonable quote. BEST part was that my house was cool the same evening. Can NOT tell you how extremely happy I am that we used Schmidt. I recommend this company to all!

I bought a very expensive unit from Schmidt Mechanical two years ago. Three weeks ago, the indoor unit began leaking - yes, inside my house. Their service tech has been out approximately six times since then. The unit began leaking again over the weekend. I called them first thing this Monday morning and told them I needed them to come out AGAIN and that I also wanted their service manager, Ward, to call me. What did I get? Nothing. No call, no appointment, no service visit. Unit is still leaking. Wonder if the owner cares....

I am recommending this company to all of my friends and neighbors! They sent me a picture and bio of the technician (Eric) that would be showing up so I could verify it was the right person. Eric was on time, was respectful of my house and wore footies over his shoes, was honest and didn't try to up-sell me anything like the company that came out previously. He explained everything he did, answered all questions, sent me a printout of the tests run on my ac units and the results. Told me I did not need all the things done or replaced that the sketchy company told me I needed just a couple of days before (which I didn't believe anyway but it was nice to have it confirmed). Their $49 checkup included a service the other company tried to sell me for $189, in addition to all the other stuff they did. Very happy with quick response, pricing, and service. Will use again.

The zoning feature wasn’t working on my unit, I sent a text message and within an hour I received a call back and the service tech arrived less than an hour after the call. I highly recommend Schmidt Mechanical Group when you’re having AC problems. I’ve been dealing with Schmidt for years and I appreciate their honesty and outstanding customer service! Since I bought my house, I got a lemon of an AC unit. After the first summer, my AC went out. I used the company which installed it only because it still had the warranty on it. They basically just put a “band-aid” on it. This continued for several years. Eventually the warranty expired and I needed AC service badly! Schmidt came out serviced it and informed me a new evaporator coil was needed. After speaking with the technician and the owner of the company, he reviewed what was needed and gave me a quote. I was a divorced mom, living from paycheck to paycheck and had to come up with the agreed upon price, which I finally did. The tech replaced the evaporator coil and after seeing the bill, I freaked! That wasn’t what the owner quoted me! Well, there was a miscommunication on the depth of the problem, but the owner spoke with me ensuring me he was gonna stand by his quote! That meant he would’ve lost a couple of thousand dollars, but said it was HIS mistake and he was gonna honor the price he quoted me, therefore he made NO profit on that installation! That in itself made me cry as to the moral ethic, honesty, and worthiness of this company’s word and you don’t find that too often when dealing with a business. We purchased a brand new unit from them about 4 years ago, we always get the annual service contract, my daughter even replaced her entire AC system with them, and other family members have used them as well. So because of Schmidt’s exemplary customer service, moral ethics, and outstanding work, I’ll ALWAYS recommend them and contact them for my AC service. I was having problems with the AC and very high amount of drainage. Robert from Schmidt Mechanical was super professional, explained my problem to me, and told me what he was going to do. He recommended I look into getting a new AC unit since mine is over 20 years old but was not pushy or did not try to sell me anything on the spot. It's great to know that there are still companies out there that tell you wants going on without trying to upsell you on the spot. Honesty and integrity.

What a great company! Yvonne answers the phone with a welcoming tone and Autumn in dispatch ready to schedule the service technicians. Both ladies listen to what is needed. I received text and emails updating the arrival time of the technicians. They also sent a picture of the technician. The technicians were very thorough in diagnosing the problem. I will definitely use Schmidt Mechanical again.

Very punctual and the tech was very nice. The blower fan went out and was making loud noises when the ac kicked on. I checked the ac and saw no damage to the assembly or motor. I was about to repair it myself but remembered I had insurance and had them schedule a technician. I informed the tech what was wrong and he said the whole unit needs to be replaced even though it was just the blower. Waited to see what they were going to charge since it was under warranty. They wanted $1.7k to just install the new inside unit. I was upset and refused, found the replacement part and swapped it out. Took me 30 minutes and 46$ to fix. Heat is back on and only short the money I paid for the service call...70$ charged to me and a high amount to the insurance. I felt like it was a scam, I get what they were trying to do, prevent future issues I just want to have heating and replace the old unit later when I have the money. Their tactics to get you into buying a new unit seem sketchy. Don't forget you can always get a second opinion.

We just moved to San Antonio last year and, as new homeowners, are doing our best to make sure everything in the house continues to work efficiently. The technician that came out was name raymond he come to perform work on a Angie's list coupon that I brought after finishing that job he told me that I needed to add a safety overflow valve and a secondary motor controller. Raymond came out a second time to replace the parts that needed placing. Schmidt Mechanical was recommended to us when we needed some AC work done due to a roof leak. Our first maintenance checkup today was careful, thorough and we'll communicated as far as steps and result of cleaning, flushing drain, filter change, testing temperatures in two cents and testing the whole system.Alex wore PPE and cleaned up afterwards.Our 2nd maintenance (10-6-20) was equally thorough and professional. Cameron arrived earlier than appointment, but only after the main office called to get my permission. I appreciate the dispatch/scheduling staff asking if an earlier time would be convenient. I recommend customers register for Schmidt Mechanical's annual maintenance visits, especially if they plan to stay in their home for a year. Still, the company might be able to transfer the plan to a new address, but I don't know the answer and cannot vouch for that possibility.

Very disappointed in the service and the company overall. I have a service agreement and called them to look at my AC as it was leaking into my ceiling. The tech came and said nothing was wrong, but I needed new duct work and blown insulation. They sent an estimator that came later in the day. The estimate was $5770. 2 weeks later, my ceiling was pooling with water in a larger area and a remodeler friend looked at it and found a leak. He fixed it and found other issues with the underside of the unit, that the Schmidt Mechanic didn't bother to even look at. I called Schmidt back and had them send a tech at a no charge fee since they missed the leak 2 weeks prior. The tech came and said he had to have another guy to fix the plenum and it would be $600.00. I told them that was absurd. I hired a true, honest A/C tech who fixed the issue for $150.00. I would never recommend this company and am extremely disgusted as now I have a huge mess of a ceiling to fix from water damage that they neglected to find on the first visit.

Eddie first let me know that I had microbials in the supply plenum and that needed to be replaced. There prices are reasonable, but more than that they are honest. You get what you pay for sometimes. They were very helpful in resolving the problem. A 23 year old unit that needed replacing on a very hot day. They were able to obtain the equipment and install it on the same day. This was in a rental property and the tenant had medical problems so it needed to be repaired/replaced quickly. Very satisfied with their work and the time to get the work done.

I was needing a routine service check on both AC units - James came out right on time - actually he was early, which worked out great for my husband and I - but SMG called and let us know that James would be a little early ( about 30 minutes) - I know other companies that would not have taken the time to do that. James did a complete and thorough check on both units - he topped it with Freon - and boy, could we tell the difference! It was cooler at 73 than it was at 69 - it was great! He explained everything that he did and made some suggestions. I always listen to what is recommended and then I set up another appointment with a different company for a second opinion - this has always worked for me even though I might pay extra for their service call - in the long run it is worth it. I guess it's like a doctor telling you to get an operation and then going elsewhere for a second opinion. It doesn't mean you don't trust the doctor, you just want to be sure. The same is true with AC units - they are expensive and I just want to have a second opinion before I just jump in and spend 10,000.00. But all in all, I highly recommend James - whether you are looking for someone to check your AC unit or just wanting a second opinion .......

Our AC is now working perfectly!Additionally, I feel that JR went the extra mile to point out a few potential problem areas such as our filter being inadequate and a potential problem with the unit in the attic. Today AC Technician Luis Huerta came to my house to fix my AC. I was impressed with his knowledge and great effort in making sure that my AC unit was not only fix but that was performing correctly through the different cicles. His professional attitude and genuine desire to excel at his work was very evident. A great company to work with!!!!

We needed to get a new ac unit since ours was not cooling... we had 3 companies come out and give us estimates. Schmidt by far was the best. They actually asked us about our allergies (which are horrible by the way lol) and other things like, how often we are home, what we like to set our unit at and all kinds of things... I felt confident in choosing them. They helped us with financing and everything. The technicians were great and worked around us and our kids while they were here.. I highly recommend them and will be using them for all of our servicing issues in the future!

We have used Schmidt for several years for routine maintenance. Our system recently went out so needed to replace. Jared provided various options with clear explanation of the differences. Install- including relocation of outside unit- was accomplished on time and very effectively. We did get a couple of other bids and found price to be competitive. Highly recommend Schmidt!

This company came out to my home, told me that my AC Compressor was done for. I had a second opinion done, and all my AC needed was freon. Schmidt is unprofessional, lacks knowledge, and its very difficult to get someone to come out to your home. These people ripped me off, and have not come back out to fill my freon tank for my AC unit. They have not yet made this right. I'd choose another company, someone honest, and more experienced.

Jose Aranda was awesome! Not only did he arrive early and did not keep me waiting all morning, he also was very professional and just a nice person. I love how they text you when the technician is on their way. They give you a whole bio on your technician.

Schmidt has been my go to since I had another company try and scam me out of repairs that weren't needed. They looked over their recommendations and saved me money by telling me none of it was needed. I use them for regular maintenance inspections twice a year. 10/10 would recommend!

We had our AC go out when it was rainy and muggy -- so hard to work in Powerhouse Bakery! I tried several AC Repair companies before calling Schmidt but no one would come to our rescue due to rainy conditions. But I will go straight to this wonderful company next time! James was knowledgeable and professional when he came for initial service call. Jared also was thorough and professional as the engineer looking for solutions to my problem. So far so good. We will see if they can solve the temperature issues with the master bedroom. Saga to be continued...Okay, the new duct is in and all ductwork has been sealed. Didn't add insulation at this time, but the crew sealed all the openings that shouldn't have been left open by the previous company. Surge protector is in place. We will see how the temp is this weekend when the strong cold front hits. It's 5 degrees warmer than it was but still 5 degrees cooler than the back of the house. The guys did a beautiful job of keeping the area around the work site clean, were friendly and knowledgeable. I give the high marks!

Today the Engineer that evaluated my Air system explained all about it. I was relieved that he knew what could be done to make one room in my 4bd house cooler. It never seems to be cool enough. This company seems efficient and what my unit needed was reasonably priced. Thank you for courteous phone service as well.

Repair took about 2 hours and costs about $940 for a new compressor fan and capacitor. Repair was made with 6 hours of calling with a broken Air Conditioner. Technician James was very helpful. I feel that service was great though prices are a little bit high.

Frustrating. 2 months & $3000 in and my grinder pump still isn’t repaired. Poor communication. I’ve had to use an electrician and pluMber for the issue and I never know who or when they are coming. Each person tells me there is a different issue and they don’t seem to communicate with each other.

Called on Monday, informed the agent I had a mini split unit that was not heating. Emphasized mini split. Was told a tech would show up on Friday or before. Tech showed up Friday at 2pm and immediately informed me “I know nothing about these”. Service went downhill from there.

I also received a text with a picture of the technician who was coming over. Jose Aranda was the technician who was sent. His professional manner took the sting out of me having to call to get my heater fixed. Turns out I had my thermostat set up wrong. But he took the time to explain everything and still inspected the unit.

Our church unit went out on a HOT (104 deg) Saturday afternoon. Called Schmidt’s after hour service and they had someone there in 30 minutes and had the unit running in 15 mins. The technician was professional and clean cut. Definitely recommend.

They called ahead that they would arrive in 20-30 minutes and did. They got the new part installed much faster than I had anticipated, checked the whole system, and added some freon. They put on shoe covers when they came inside our house - veery professional and nice. They did forget to reinstall the black ring that had fallen down inside one of the units. hopefully they will swing by next week between jobs to do it.

I had to use this company thru a Home warranty, they replaced a condenser and coil early 2019, a week later it leaked Freon out where they welded the copper, they came out and fixed the problem, no biggie. Fast forward to now my Unit is not blowing cold again, called the after hours “24/7 service call” and that’s all they do just answer the phone but won’t actually send anyone out. The person I reached said they will call me between 7-8am the next morning, but go figure they open at 8am and no call was received, called about 15 minutes later Expecting them to already know my situation but they had no idea. When I called i asked about my warranty on the unit and workmanship, the lady said they don’t see anything and that they Can have someone out way later in the day? Ugh no thanks, they mentioned my warranty when I first got the unit installed but now that I want to find out about it they “don’t see it “. Will be using a different company.

My technician, Greg was on time, professional and proficient. He identified my problem within 2 hours, to include the travel time it took to get the necessary part. Another company that called themselves working on it, took 4 trips and would have to schedule a 5th because they couldn't find the part in my area. I've used Schmidt before for an ac problem. They don't disappoint you.

Really good experience with this company. I called after-hours and left a message for getting AC system serviced the following day. They called back within 30 mins and let me know that they could get someone out in the time block I needed. The technician was quick and friendly he accepted a coupon I had for a free service call ($60 value) with no problems. There were no extra hidden fees and I paid only for the part I needed. Great service!

Reviews are sort of funny if you give them too high of a mark you think hmmm wonder what he got free?. Well that is not the case with these folks. I purchased their yearly maintenance package, following a horrible experience from DUNN AC (blacklist him), and they came to my rescue and turned my horrible experience into a really pleasant one. And for them to come back after someone had completely botched the previous job and simply jumped in to fix my heat pump, which was destroyed, I can't thank them enough. This is my first post on this site so sorry if it is long, but I have been with these folks almost a year and have had better experience than all the rest put together. They know me by first name and as usual these folks go above and beyond the call of normal duty. I can't say enough about these folks and the promptness, kindness, professionalism of their staff (from dispatch to site professional). What a great team. Rusty just finished re-locating my thermostat and completed my summer tune up. With older systems there is always the 'inheritance' issue with systems and Rusty inherited a challenge for sure. Not sure what the 'other' guy had done before, but Rusty took a deep breath and attacked it head on...Keith is the 'boss man' and he is always willing to take your calls and re-assure you that what we customers may seem as a huge issue is actually not all that bad. I haven't gone wrong with these folks and I doubt you would either. With so many AC companies why not give them a try?

On 12/14/15 we were notified by our tenants in our rental home that the furnace had quit working. We had Schmidt Mechanical go out there the same day to see if it could be repaired. Unfortunately the 30 year old system was obsolete and the parts were not available. Mr. Schmidt called me at 6:30pm and went over our options and we agreed to replace the entire system. To my surprise he stated that he would have a crew out there at the residence by 8:30am the next day. I stopped by that day to see how the progress was going and they had the system installed and running by 4pm. Needless to say our tenants were ecstatic and I was very pleased with the job and professionalism of his staff. I would not hesitate to call them for all of my heating and cooling needs.

This is a first class operation without the high prices or the price gouging that you would expect from most big AC companies in San Antonio. They do incredible work and their people really do care about the customer. I needed a new AC unit to replace my old machine that was barely getting the job done. I received four estimates from big AC companies and I decided to go with Schmidt. Not only was their price competitive but they seemed to be the only company that cared to get the job done right. My AC closet was small and they could have just thrown a unit in. It would have been a tight squeeze and they felt I wouldn’t be happy with the results of the air flow. Jarod spent countless hours trying to find the right unit that would fit correctly in my home. They stepped out of their box and went the extra mile to order me a unit that would fit. Who else would go that extra mile to make the customer happy? Long story short… it is now freezing in my house when it is 100 degrees outside. We are no longer sweating in the middle of the night. Since I had my A/C unit installed, the guys from Schmidt came back several times to do more small projects for me. They added an extra air vent in one of my rooms and made some modifications to my condensation drain line. Cameron, the service manager, came out to do some of the work for me! Sending the big guy out is how much they cared about me as the customer. The most recent project I want to mention is they came back and added more insulation to my attic. They sent Albert and his coworker out to do the job. They were on time and did an incredible job with zero mess which is amazing because they had to come through the entire house and upstairs to get to the attic. I went up to inspect the attic and they did a great job spreading out the insulation and I give them a lot of credit for crawling around up there because it is really tight. It is to early to tell if the added insulation will help because I will have to wait for the summer. But these guys at Schmidt are amazing. They do EVERYTHING and they do a great job!

Great company! When I noticed that my utility bill was awfully high, a friend referred them to me. The technician that came out, Johnny, was a very professional and nice, young man. He found some torn duct work in the attic. The necessary repairs were done well, quick and very reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again!

I began to experience problems with my AC, the same day I called, a technician was sent to my house. I received exceptional service from Johnny. He explained everything he was doing to the unit and gave me some tips on how to keep my system running at an optimal level. He did warn me that my system was old and that I should be prepared, which I thought this was it, but Johnny was able to find the problem and get my system back up and running. My Ac system was installed by schmidt mechanical group 4years ago .It works great no problems The installer were great and very courteous the installation was very clean and the unit works flawlessly. I am on a yearly maintenance program they check every function and component to be sure the system is reliable specially in summer and winter. their personnel are great.Thanks.

On April 26th, 2016 I had Schmidt Mechanical service my A/C units for maintenance purposes. Less than two months latter water had built up in both units causing a leak that resulted in extensive water damage to the ceiling of my son's room. The cause of the leak and water built up was that the condensate lines were clogged. Another A/C repair service came to repair my units and told me that the lines had been improperly cleared or not cleared at all. The lines should have been disconnected from the vanity to ensure that they were clear. Schmidt Mechanical did not do this. Schmidt Mechanical customer service called me a few days after I gave negative feedback to their company, and stated that they do not disconnect the condensate lines from the vanity. They do send nitrogen through the lines to clear possible clogs. However it is a simple process to disconnect the line and makes sure that water runs through the line to ensure they are properly working. This is the first year I have had any problems like this with my A/C units. I have had them service every year since buying this house in order to prevent problems like this. I will definitely not use Schmidt Mechanical again.In addition, I found similar complaints on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that matched the problem I had to a T. If you decide to use Schmidt Mechanical to service your A/C units, I recommend you make sure they service the condensate lines properly.In all, the problem caused by the clogged condensate lines cost me $1,100 to fix the A/C(s) and $1,000 to fix the the ceiling and insulation. Of course Schmidt Mechanical did not offer to reimburse me for their mistake.

Installed two new toilets. They look great. He was fast and did a great job I will definitely be calling again when I need their services.

I recently had my A/C unit checked out by Schmidt Mechanical. They were very responsive and did a thorough job. They identified a problem with my Condenser fan motor and capacitor. I was given a price to replace the items. I mentioned to the technician that I felt the price quoted was a bit excessive for the parts & work to be performed. Regardless, I decided to have the work done. They did the work at the price quoted and the unit is working fine. Afterwards, I decided to check the price using actual parts & actual labor and even after considering a reasonable markup, I feel that the price was 30% higher than it should have been. In the future, I will check pricing in more detail before authorizing work. I like the company, they are responsive and do good work, but I am concerned about the high cost.

Eric B. was great. He fixed our a/c clog once we found the drainage pipe that was buried in the dirt by the previous owner . He gave us pointers on how to keep the drain line from clogging again. Eric even went out of his way to make sure that the outside unit was working properly and tested out the coolant. Kudos to Eric B.

Terrible customer service and terrible Technician support. We were on their maintenance plan. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! They never fixed anything or cleaned anything. I truly had to call back one time after the tech left because our Units weren't working. Come to find out the Tech had forgotten to turn back on the electrical panel for the units!!!!! Then another time I had to call literally two weeks after service because of an issue and come to find out that it was something that could have been cleaned the two weeks prior!!! They still charged me for the fee for coming out the second time and to fix the cleaning issue. I do not recommend.

The price was fair, professionally done and completed in a timely fashion. They replaced my air handler unit which went bad and was 11 years old. I will have them back again for future maintenance.

Called Schmidt for their cooling checkup with a coupon. Called on Monday, Rusty Cain was here on tuesday afternoon. The time frame was 3:00pm-5:00pm and he was here by 3:30. Did a good inspection of our system and basically found the same issues I assumed he would find. We sat down and talked with Rusty about new systems to fit our needs, and he gave us multiple options to consider without pushing any particular system. I had a number in my head for what I figured we would end up paying and they were just under that. We scheduled an appt for Thursday morning at 8:00am to install our new system and Rusty and Gilbert were at our house by 7:45 to begin the installation. All of the crew wore shoe covers every time they entered our house, they laid plastic on the carpet and were quick and efficient with the installation. The new heat pump system they installed as well as the changes they made to the draining system were really top notch. They installed a great touch screen thermostat that was very easy to program. It makes our old system look like a ceiling fan. The company owner Keith even stopped by just to introduce himself. We are not a high spending customer by any means but we sure felt like it with this service. If you have air conditioning needs, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Rusty, Gilbert and Keith from Schmidt.

Schmidt AC has done a great job in keeping my system checked bi annually for years. My unit had been acting funky for a bit and then decided it would shed its mortal coil and go to the next life. I called an another company lets call them company A since I had a warranty with them thinking I could save a few bucks. They showed up 2 hours late of given window. Warranty didnt cover any of the perceived issues ( not really their fault, maybe). Double billed me (why pay 700 for a service call when you can pay 1400!!! ie: they ran my card twice) and then even though issue still wasnt fixed wanted to upsell me some more for close to 3k or get another sweet unit for an overpriced amount.I'll admit I was getting desperate. Do I let the giant commercial bad guys win? Give them all my money I could be using on fishing gear? My neighbor happens to work at Schmidt Mechanical Group (shout out to Jared) and got me in touch with their service technicians for a 2nd opinion. ENTER Richard Moreno. Showed up at the beginning of time window. Diagnosed the multiple issues in a timely manner. Explained to me what was going on and why and hand held me through what needed to be done now and what to expect in the future. Worked on both of my units. My bill came to a FRACTION of what was recommended by company A. Mr. Moreno was very professional, kind, and honest. As a first time home owner whos been bamboozled by companies like company A, Schmidt Mechanical Group just gained a customer for life. Look forward to doing more business with them and their techs are awesome. Dont be like me and use company A first. Use this company.

Like clock work, he was very respectful and didn't waste anytime getting to work. After diagnosing the problem, going to get the part, replacing it and cleaning up after himself, he apologized for taking so long. I thought he finished everything in a very short time compared to other companies I have used in the past. This guy is amazing and very respectful. Switched vendors after years with another to Schmidt. Very knowledgeable and they went above and beyond. Their bid was just under a competitor's bid, but not inexpensive as they deal in Trane which is top shelf. You get what you pay for. The previous Trane unit lasted almost 20 years and was still running (granted inefficiently) when I had the new one installed. Great product with Trane and their employees are punctual and do great work. Highly recommend! They cared and I would get them out to bid a new install if looking.

These guys are legit. They came out, identified what was wrong, offered solutions ranging from a quick bandaid to full rehab, made a recommendation on which to pick and patiently answered my questions without any apparent bias toward anything other than fixing things right. Then, without rushing, waited for me to make my decision. My decision was to hold off repair for now. This is where you usually get the huff n puff and fear mongering but not here. He, as eagerly as he diagnosed the problem, cleaned up after himself, left me with instructions on how to move forward if I decided to, and was on his way. Pretty awesome and I never have to call Jon or Will or those Boys again.

We chose Schmidt Mechanical Group to service our A/C unit because of their positive reviews.Jose Aranda was the technician who came out to diagnose why our unit was making a strange humming noise. He was incredibly friendly, polite and informative when providing the different options available to us (our A/C unit was 20 years old). We decided that replacing our A/C unit was our best option. Jose was able to call and make an appointment on our behalf for someone to provide us an estimate for a new unit.Jared Jaroski was able to come out the same day to give us several different options. Just like Jose, he was very friendly and informative. Once we chose the unit we wanted, Jared scheduled our A/C install date for the following week.Juan and Alan were the install techs. They arrived on time and worked efficiently to install our new unit. Once the unit was installed, they took the time to pair our phones to our wi-fi enabled thermostat panel.A day after our A/C unit installed, we noticed that the A/C was not cooling our home. We contacted Schmidt Mechanical to inform them of the issue. They were able to send out a tech the same day.Jose Aranda came out to our home once again and identified that the issue was with our breaker. He was able to quickly fix the issue for us.Overall, we are very happy with the service provided by Schmidt Mechanical and will continue to use them for future A/C needs.

While the technician who came out was courteous and professional, topped off the refrigerant as we suspected we needed, when he left our air conditioner ran twice as loud as it previously had. We called to see if they would send another technician out to fix it, and they had someone out that evening. However, he informed us it would be another $30 charge to diagnose the problem, and was completely unrelated to anything the previous technician had done. Before we had had someone come out, our air conditioner ran quietly and the only problem was that it wasn't running as cool as it should. When he left, we had a whole new problem, and now are woken up in the middle of the night when our ac comes on. Never had this problem before and it seems like quite a coincidence.

Excellent overall experience. Jared Jaroski supplied a detailed and precise quote with multiple options. He answered any and all questions I asked. Alan Rubio & Johnnis Pujols performed an excellent installation and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. I found a small leak in the AC drain pan and they returned promptly the next day to correct the vendor's defect. Overall an excellent experience at a very fair price. My neighbor, who is planning to replace his old unit, was very impressed by the installation.

I keep getting emails to write a review, don't like writing bad reviews but here it goes. When i called i was told the service fee of $ 29.00 was to let me know what was wrong. Well the Tech came out charged me just to tell me that if i wanted to know what was wrong he would have to charge me 225.00 an hour. So I asked for an estimate to install a new system and was told someone else would have to come back out. I did not see the point of having to pay their service fee when all he said was If i wanted to know what was wrong i would end up paying by the hour. I have been waiting for the estimate but just gave up already. The good thing about the entire process was the tech was on time.

If you’re like me, you probably read the reviews for certain products or services you’re purchasing. That’s I how came to have Schmidt Mechanical Group install a brand new HVAC in our home. We had been informed by our home warranty company that Schmidt had been assigned to service our unit. We, however, after having several reps servicethe unit in the previous two years, decided to upgrade. Right before we contacted Schmidt to cancel the service call, my wife asked that I look at their website and see what others were saying about them. I was surprised when I learned that out of a 5.0 overall rating, Schmidt Mechanical Group was rated at 4.9. That led me to start reading the reviews. Most of them were rated 5.0. Wow!!! I was hooked. I contacted Schmidt Mechanical Group and was informed that a sales rep would be in contact me. Sure enough, within an hour, I was contacted by Jerod. He informed me that he would be able to meet with me the very next day! During our 1st meeting, Jerod informed that the system could be installed the very next day. We had previously been informed by Lowes and th that their contractors couldn’t install the unit for another week. What??? No A/C for a week. This happened during that little hot spell we had earlier in May 2017. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when in fact, just like Jerod stated, the boys came in the next day and hooked us up with a new system. I am rating this Group a 5.0 due to their keeping their commitment and overall professionalism. Being retired military, I was impressed that they sent out a Supervisor on the day of installment to check on the work being done. Reminded me of how The Chiefs would perform back in the days. Same Supervisor came back out the next day after being informed by Mr. Jerod (the Sales Pro), that he felt the unit was not calibrated to its full capacity. Richard, technician was thorough, professional and was able to troubleshoot, answer questions as well as explain so that I could understand the extent of work needed on my A/C to make it functional. The technician went ahead and checked A/C before leaving and found another issue and went to get the needed parts to fix the system. I will use Schmidt again.

***UPDATE*** An hour after posting the review below, the owner of Schmidt Mechanical, Keith, called to ask about my experience.He explained to me that these cleanings are required by the warranty company in any case, so the facts had been misrepresented to me by Cameron (who implied that he had spoken to the warranty company in regard to my case). Keith also informed me that Cameron was wrong; I would not be charged for the cleaning if the part didn't work.So a agree to have a technician try to clean the coil and fan motor housing. As soon as the technician opened the coil housing, we could both see that the coil was greatly damaged beyond repair. We found documentation that the unit was installed in 1993; making it 27 years old. The previous technician (who said it need to be cleaned and NOT REPLACED despite my immediate and persistent protest) never even looked at the coil!Now I'm told a coil needs to be ordered (which will take several days) and the soonest the would come back would probably be in a week! And it will cost $995 to do a retrofit of the coil to my system, half of which was due UP FRONT. So I had to pay $447.50 on the spot, and now I am waiting a week for potential work. And none of this guarantees that my condenser will work after all this retrofitting is done!I'm noticing a pattern of deception. Keith assured me that my unit would be running when the tech left yesterday. I guess it's blowing air now....but its hot air.The worst part of this is that I told Keith that this would happen! I knew my coil had failed because it was blowing hot air before the fan motor died. I told the secretary, both technicians, and the owner of the company that these parts need to be REPLACED because they are failing due to age. Keith said if he just replaced all the parts it would be insurance fraud, citing that the warranty company is his customer too. But he also assured me several times that if i buy a unit from him at full retail price, he could have it blowing cold air in my house tomorrow. How is that even possible if their next available service isn't for a week? Obviously using some high pressure sales tactics to try to sell a new system to a man that has had no a/c for 3 weeks and counting, despite full warranty coverage.ORIGINAL POST: This place has gone down hill FAST. I have had no A/C for 3 weeks now. All their adds about same day emergency service are completely untrue. Every time I call to ask about job status, they say we will call you back. And they do not call back.When I finally spoke to their services manager, Cameron, he rudely told me I needed an $800 coil cleaning before any work could be done. He said it was my home warranty company's policy and they would not allow him to replace any parts until i paid $800 to have other parts (which are 15 years old and need to be replaced) cleaned.I then called my home warranty company to find out that Schmidt hadn't even filed a report about my A/C yet, so the home warranty company was not yet aware of any of these required cleanings. Cameron the service manager admitted that the $800 would be non-refundable and would not ensure that any of the parts being cleaned would work properly once clean.He also told me that because this work order was for a fan motor, he would have to make a separate one for the coil (invoking another trip fee). The work order I submitted to my home warranty company specified A/C does not cool. Cameron informed me that because they had determined that the fan motor was dead, that was the focus of this work order and anything else would have to be a separate one. Will I be charged a trip fee for every single part in the system individually when the whole thing doesn't work?BE CAREFUL.

Was totally bamboozled by the $69 ac tune up. Bought it on groupon with the understanding it included freon. Call to make the appointment and was told that if my ac uses r22 I would have to pay extra. What?! The freon included is apparently only used in newer model refrigeration. Left me wondering how many people actually need tune ups on newer equipment. Joshua, the technician was prompt and courteous. Really the only reason the company got a star. If you absolutely have to use this company, don't fall for the inclusive ac tune up. Just call for a $49 service call, but be prepared because the office lady has no idea what the cost for any of the services are. $283 to refill my freon. Total RIPOFF!!!

Great Customer Service from Susan who answered the phone and professionally scheduled our service, and then on short notice rescheduled our service after a personal scheduling problem, to Quincy, the service technician, who showed up on time, and who was professional and courteous in handling our entire service call. Quincy professionally explained concerns about our HVAC unit so that we could easily understand current needs, and future needs down the road. He also took time to crawl up into our small attic, on a day that was 100 degrees outside, and must have been over 150 in our attic to carefully assess our aging duct work system. Great Job Schmidt...I would definitely have you back to service our HVAC, and will definitely refer you to our family and friends!!!

We installed a new Trane heating and cooling system with Schmidt Mechanical in August 2013. We were very happy with the system and the installation. Today Johnny G. came to do our cooling check and we couldn't be more pleased! Johnny was polite and competent. He even let me video record him showing how to clean the filter! Seems it was 3# low on freon, so we suspect that on the original installation barely 3 yrs ago (new home) that it was never filled properly! Anyway, we purchased the annual maintenance agmt.; there are about 4 neighbors to whom we have given a business card, and we all will be calling for an appt. in early Dec. for maintenance on our heating units. Had and AC issue thinking Schmidt Mechanical Group, Inc would take care of it. They sent one of there A/C tech's named Adam to my house to correct a leak issue but a week later the unit froze up again. We even purchased one of there warranty plans come to find out it wasn't even a warranty. We called back and they said they would send out a more experience tech lol which I thought in the beginning thats who they sent the first time. The next A/C Tech said the A/Coil needs to be replaced so they said they would credit the $619.00 to the new expense of $2900. I called three times to get in touch with Keith(owner) and days later he calls me saying well will give you a portion of your money back and Hung up when I told him I disputed the charge. DO NOT USE Schmidt Mechanical Group, Inc total rip off. If you do a job do it right the first time and call your customers back not a week later.

One day service in a heatwave when the system just stops and the house is reaching over 85f. Very thorough inspection was done ithe damage to our system was quickly resolved. If you don't have their silver plan where you received to get you 2 inspections a year, this is the year to get it.Overall the last 3 years of having the silver plan has been great system clean and you also get people working with you who know your system and get the whole job done without much BS. We will be using them a lot well hopefully not, lol.

The Maintenance guy came prompt at 0700 before the shop even open. i scheduled regular maintenance check for summer and was pointed out to a different potential problem. the part was not available on the truck, but the maintenance guy ran to shop and fixed it while i had to leave for work. I came home to a better than usual cooled home and no mess at all outside. I recommend this company to all. In the past i have had a tech wire my unit wrong and broke the motor . 4 thousand dollars later i never made that mistake again.

So far, so good. I have been searching for a reliable, trustworthy and COMPETENT HVAC technician and I think I have found it at Schmidt Mechanical. Cameron and Troy were timely, professional and competent in their initial diagnosis. We have a newer Trane model which it seems no one in all of San Antonio can repair/maintain. One of our last technicians (NOT Schmidt’s) left the house without even replacing the air filters! Verdict is still out as work won’t be completed until Trane fabricates a new coil, but we’re optimistically hopeful.

He wouldn’t answer questions. The when he came inside to collect payment, he said “gimme my $$ so I can get outta here!!” He wouldn’t tell me exactly what he did just that it needed Freon. Wouldn’t tell me how much or anything. The one star was for the great office staff. I hope it’s not ok with management that their techs act this way. If this is the only ac company my home warantee uses then I will definitely be switching to another wars tee company. Schmidt mechanical will never be a choice of mine!!

I have had nothing but trouble since this company touched my air conditioner.Once they didn’t mount something and one of the inside units fell, next installation they broke a coupling and flooded my attic. Now, some pipe thing that should not have come off has fallen off.Their billing department is rude.I will never recommend this company. I’d give zero stars if I could.

I have used Schmidt for several years now for all my AC needs. They're prompt, super friendly, straight shooters. Great service and reasonable prices.

The serviceman did well, his name John, It was determined it was freon deficient and replaced that. He asked how long since it might have been added before, the most I could remember is 2017 some was added by another serviceman that the warranty company sent. John hooked things up and looked at the air unit in the attic and then went outside and they determined to add freon for now. It brought the temperature upstair down good. Upstairs feels much better. John did good as far as I know. Not being versed in AC I really can't technically review him. Just to say he did what was needed and I am cooler.

They are unprofessional.They then post this comment Our records indicate we performed a tune up in August 2015 and have not returned to your home since. Proving how unprofessional they are. Posting customer history online. DO NOT USE SCHMIDT DO NOT USE SCHMIDT. What they are too stupid to realize is the previous work was done through my insurance company. Idiots, rude, unprofessional, intrusive, and many other things. Stay away from them. Use Champion AC or Aramendia or any other San Antonio company.

We had them come out on Monday 6/14/2018 for a check up of our AC. The AC just wasn't blowing as cool as it used to so I assumed it was probably low on refrigerant which is why I purchased the Groupon that included a refill. The gentleman shows up does his service and informs us that our unit was 2lbs low but our Groupon does not cover the specific refrigerant. Our house was built in 2003 so I didn't do the research on which type our takes before purchasing it...I don't know a lot of people that would actually research that before making a Groupon purchase but none the less it didn't cover it. He then goes over the options of sealing the unit and adding the particular refrigerant my unit takes. Given the fact that my unit was still cooling I didn't take them up on the offer. He calls back later that day to ask if its okay if he came by to pick up a tool he forgot upstairs in our unit. A short time later that afternoon he comes over driving a red Dodge Challenger and very unprofessionally spins his tires on the way out...I kid you not....its not as if he was mad or anything he was just a young kid and that's probably how he drives away from most of his friends houses to just how how much power his car has...but I'm a customer so I'd expect a certain amount of professionalism. Jump ahead 3 days later and now our outside unit is not turning on. It keeps jumping the breaker and will not remain engaged. I called the company back and after a lengthy conversation with the owner informing him that this was not, and has never been, an issue with our AC he tells me that the expectation of having them come back out here for free is not going to happen and they only make $20 off the Groupon deals. It was going to be a $29 assessment fee and then whatever it costs to fix it. I declined the offer. So now my kids and I are stuck in a house that's currently 88 degrees inside. You make the decision if whether you want to use this company. I'm only explaining my experience.

I had a tech named George. He arrived 30min early , that was good. But that was it. I had purchased a tune up through Groupon. I don't know if that's why I got the attitude I did, but figured I'd mention it. He didn't change filters, didn't clean outside unit, I don't know what he did honestly. He told me I'm low on freon, must have a leak, and a dual capacitor needed replacing, but that could wait. So then he tells me about stop leak, not 100% guaranteed, and it was $495!! And to not gamble and find the leak, would start at $235,no parts, just for him to look. So, of course, I needed to discuss with husband, but the way he acted was horrible. So I had to pay for freon, $50 a pound. When I'm signing, he tells me these are the options you have, but I didn't tell you bc you denied our services! ! If I had options maybe I wouldn't have denied! ! I told him that, and he still did not tell me. Then I gave him my credit card to pay the freon, and he tells me I should have told him I was paying with a card bc he now has to walk back to his truck, to get a machine! ! It was not raining! It is not even far from street! I was even more upset, when I went to garage and he did not put my ladder back up. The ceilings are tall, ladder folds 3 times and is heavy, and I had to get a ladder to do it, to get my car back inside. He didn't close the side gate either. Needless to say, they called asking how it went, I told the girl, and haven't heard back.

Our AC stopped blowing cold, so we opened up the yellow pages and called 3 different AC companies to come out and give us a quote. The first one told me I needed a brand new system that would cost about $10,000. The next company told me it would cost $5,000. The last company charged me $351. I was glad to be dealing with a fair and honest company and worker (Raymond). I will definitely use them again in the future for any additional AC work.

Technicians always come when scheduled for the bi-annual servicing, and they are very professional. Just don't call with an emergency because their after hours service is non-existent. My capicitor went out during the summer on a Sunday afternoon. I repeatedly called Schmidt over a 1 hour period, but never got an answer. Needless to say I called another company to fix my capicitor.

I had Richard G. check my cooling system. He was extremely professional, courtesy, and very helpful in diagnosing the problem and repairing. Glad to have him as the tech if I need another visit!

Horrible experience. Scheduled service between 10a-12p and they didn’t show up until 1p. When they finally did come they said “tell me why I’m here?” Husband said the guy didn’t really do anything except look around. Still not even sure anything was done for an AC service and adding Freon! I want my money back and an explanation of what happened! Let alone what service they supposedly did.

Cesar was a great guy. He checked our very new AC & Heating units. Answered our questions and was very professional.

Called them on Friday, early afternoon. They said they couldn't get to me until Monday afternoon. $60 diagnostic charge to come out. I had no heat in my gas furnace. Over the weekend, I found a red light blinking 6 times. Chart on furnace said it meant that the electrical polarization was reversed. Monday afternoon repair man shows up. I tell him what I found about the 6 blinks of the red light. He looks everything over and says I need a new thermostat. I asked if there was a way for him to confirm that? He looks around some more and says these wires here were reversed, it should work fine. It was fixed. He goes out to his truck and comes back and says that will be $134! I said WHAT? It had been 30 minutes since he arrived and he misdiagnosed it at first - after I had correctly diagnosed it, then tells me it was $60 to diagnose and $75 to FIX! The diagnosis WAS the fix. I wasn't given an option to spend $75 more to fix it.

I really appreciate the super fast service in this hot weather. I would give you five stars, but it just seems wrong to charge $283 to replace a $16 part. I know that all HVAC companies charge a lot. It is about the highest profit business in San Antonio in the summertime. Anyway, your tech was prompt, knowledgeable and helpful, so thank you for that.

We found our A/C pan leaking and went thru our Homeowner Warranty company for service. We were scheduled for a Wednesday visit, but had a tech out on Tuesday due to a cancellation. My warranty company stated to replace the evaporator coil and pan, our out of pocket costs would be $1,250 for non-covered modifications. We just need the pan replaced. This is outrageous since they can use the existing drain lines, ducts, and copper water lines. Based on the cost of the items below they can probably stock 4 trucks with the cost of the items below. My family is going through a tremendous amount of aggravation as a result of poor workmanship by this company, and their failure to stand behind their promises and warranties. We hired this company in June 2014 to perform annual maintenance on our home a/c units (which are regularly maintained). After $3,500 in services they recommended, one of the units leaked a significant amount of water due to a clogged drain pipe. This happened within a 30 day warranty, which they ignored. They wanted more money to come look at the problem that they caused. Now we are left to sort out the mess.We will not use them again.

I have two air conditioners and they were given service. They gave us very good service, both checked, changed the filters and informed me of everything they had reviewed.Greg Thomas was professional and very helpful.

All went well, except that a screw was not put back in the compressor housing. I discovered this when I noticed it was vibrating loudly after the preventive maintenance visit. I have put a substitute screw in place, but it is not be correct type. Please come and fix properly. Thanks.

A supervisor, Cameron, said that he would phone be back, but never did. I wondered why they didn't check for a freon leak and the man who checked the unit told me they made a mistake last year not putting enough in. Received email stating I bought a Baid Aid fix ($225 after coupon) and that $79 maintenance was correct repair?Very disappointed, as my family has used the company for years since they started, as the owner lives in the neighborhood. They put in two pounds of freon, as the man said that last year they didn't put in enough when they put in a compressor. I wish that I knew that it was freon. I would have used the $69 Groupon. One year warranty on compressor expired.Last year they were a no show. I overlooked that as as Schmidt said it was a computer error. Usually they come within a day unless there is ice or snow. I lost a half day's work. The year before that the thermostat and condenser broke. Dont buy a Comfortmaker! (Moneytaker)

He was very honest in the information that he gave me to help me decide which system to get in my home that would be beneficial for my family and I. The installation process went smoothly as well. He scheduled a crew to install a new A/C. Thought it would be a day or two. The crew showed up with Jared at noon. Did the install and was done by 5.Try to get some service like that some where else. I would not recommend ANYONE using this company.1. Work that was supposed to take 1 day has now reached 4+ days over the span of 3+ weeks.2. Work that did not pass San Antonio City inspection the first time for a major issue.They did not pull permits to replace our ductwork, hadn't laid down a wide enough catwalk, and placed the unit too close to the trusses of my attic, requiring that it be moved completely.3. A service manager (Ward) that asked if I was on my period because I was upset that the work did not pass inspection and that I would need to relocate for work for the 3rd time.4. When they came back to fix things, the service manager wanted to just cut my attic trusses rather than moving the unit. My husband had to encourage them to contact the city inspector to verify that this was okay. They informed them that they would need a structural engineer to sign off on this.5. Finding out that we had already been charged for the work days before anyone from Schmidt had come out to our home to fix the issues that the inspector found.6. Nearly 2 weeks after that *hopefully* final work had been performed, we still have not heard anything from Ward regarding the inspection and duct work test that needs to be completed for our duct work to pass inspection.
