When we built our new home in the Hill Country almost 30 years ago, we settled on Malco Electric as our electrical contractor and were very pleased with their work (we had some pretty unique requirements for back then!).Fast-forward almost 30 years, and we needed an electrical service design and installation for a new workshop and a future home. With no hesitation we once again called Malco and the work they delivered was beyond my expectations. The new service rack they built is commercial quality and will serve us well for many, many years. Randy's team - and Randy himself - was prompt, courteous and professional throughout the whole project. The combination of Malco + PEC was a joy to work with!

It's Christmas and all the outside lights suddenly went dark. We called Malco Electric and they were able to work us in and send techs out the same day! The techs were courteous and professional. They quickly identified a failed GFCI and replaced it with a high-quality replacement part. We have used Malco Electric several times before and have been happy with their response time and service every time. We highly recommend this business.

Dale Christal and Austin Baker are amazing, personable electricians. After calling numerous electricians and being told it would be over 3 weeks before they could come out; Dale and Austin came out the same day. Their work was swift and efficient and they were happy to take the time to explain the repairs they were making after a previous electrician's botched work. Everyone at Malco Electric did fast, fantastic work when a tree branch took out our electrical mast during the latest freeze disaster. They communicated the issues really clearly, handled the permitting with the city, fixed the mast promptly, and checked in on us. Trustworthy, expert, and reasonably priced work! The team serviced my property multiple times for various work. Always professional quality work and friendly staff. Very much willing to work with constraints of getting the work done while other contractors are also on site. I will be calling them again if additional work is necessary.

A breaker tripped and suddenly the outlets for my oven, washer, and dryer weren't working. Resetting the breakers didn't seem to work. I called the office hoping someone might be available even though it was a holiday- I was able to reach someone on call right away and they headed straight over.I'm embarrassed to say that when he arrived, the problem was that the breakers weren't in the correct position on one side - sigh. Of course was ready to pay for his time but he was kind enough not to charge me - incredibly generous. 100% would recommend for any electrician work needed.

Called about a GFCI plug that kept tripping. The electrician was able to help resolve the issue over the phone at no cost to me. He also offered some suggestions for improvements to get our home up to code. Decided to book them to come out and look at some other electrical work we've been putting off in addition to the suggestions for code improvements. Really appreciated their help getting our stuff working again without charging.

Unbelievably great service. Less than four hours after the power company shut my power due to a dangerous situation, they had my necessary repairs completed for $1000 (30%) less than their initial estimate.

The guys from Malco were fantastic. My experience started with a very helpful 11PM call due to power issues and concluded with them coming out the next morning to investigate and ultimately solve the problem. I hope I don't need them again anytime soon, but I will absolutely use them the next time I need electrical work and will refer them to friends without hesitation.

I bought 2 houses that both needed a major electrical overhaul (rewiring, new outlets, electrical box upgrades). Jimmy came out for initial inspection, and Cody Jemes was a total ROCK STAR electrician (did great work)! He helped me upgrade everything necessary for safety, and was super professional and helpful in explaining what/why the upgrades were needed. He works fast and was extremely thorough. To be honest, my husband and I didn't think companies like Malco existed anymore. To make a long story short, we had been having some serious breaker issues at our home and with the heat wave that is currently occurring in Central TX, we were very concerned about our toddler having to endure any chance of our air conditioning going out for extended periods of time (which it had started doing more frequently a week prior). Chris and another individual came to our home to inspect the issue and they just blew us away with their professionalism and kindness. They worked in the sweltering heat and even waited once the meter was reinstalled by the electrical company to ensure there were no additional issues. If that wasn't enough, Chris even texted my husband a few hours later to ensure that we were able to run the ac/dryer/fan/etc without the main breaker tripping.This goes far beyond simply being a good employee and a good company. We called Malco Electric to replace our electrical panel after two separate recommendations from family and our realtor. We were impressed from the start when Randy, the owner, came out to our house to give an estimate - and the man is beyond gregarious. Unlike the other companies we called, Randy noted the need to ground the new panel. We were also anticipating a months-long wait time due to city permitting turnarounds but Randy also offered us an alternative to that - we had to move out for a couple weeks but are so grateful to Randy for thinking outside the box for us. Once we decided to move forward with the work, Randy called me almost daily with updates from the city from the time the power was shut off until we got word that the work was approved and electricity would be turned back on. The day the work was done (yes, just one day for a full panel upgrade), Randy was out there with his guys getting his hands dirty. We appreciated the excellent work and the customer service and we plan to use Malco Electric for all our future electrical needs.

I am VERY happy with Malco Electric! I called them soon after they opened at 7 a.m. with a list of things I wanted done at my house. Within 90 minutes, 2 technicians were at my house already and started working on everything. Chris and Javier were entirely professional and conscientious as they worked. Chris took the time to explain what he was doing and why. While I know my repairs/installs are probably not the most challenging, they made me feel like I was their best and most important customer. They finished all of the work, cleaned up afterwards, and made sure I was entirely satisfied with everything. I will contact them in the future and would highly recommend them for any electrical work.

Chris and Elliot were great. Both were friendly and personable as well as being professional and thorough. They worked hard fixing an awkward problem (a dining room chandelier had pulled out of an 18 foot ceiling!)and went the extra mile making sure things were done well and to our satisfaction. I found Malco Electric online, and after reading the many positive reviews, I reached out for a consult with Jimmie, and scheduled an appointment for the Journeyman and Apprentice to come out and take care of the job. Loving the finished product! Everyone was professional and friendly, and really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the placement and overall job. Would recommend this company 100%!

I was trying to plug something in and it wouldn't budge, so I forced it in. The outlet sparked and the whole room shut off. We tried flipping the breaker switch but the room's electricity wouldn't stay on. I called Malco, they came out within a few hours, fixed the outlet and then didn't charge me anything because they felt they didn't do anything significant. (It was very significant to me! It is great having my electricity work again.) The men were so nice and courteous, and I will definitely call them again with anything else I need. I wish I could give them more than my appreciation and a 5 star review. They have my future business.

Our AC, and the entire circuit it is on, went out on a Saturday night in the middle of the summer. Thinking it might be an issue with the circuit, I called Malco to schedule an emergency service for Sunday. Obviously this couldn't wait a day with it being in Austin in the summer and having a young family.Jimmy answered the phone and walked me through the problem, which ended up being an issue with the AC itself, not an electrical issue. Over the phone on a Sunday morning at 7am he helped me diagnose the issue and told me how to solve it. He refused any form of payment even though I took about 15 minutes of his time on a Sunday morning.I am sure somebody this helpful and honest over the phone, after hours on a weekend, does great in-person work as well. I will be contacting them again for any future electrical needs I have.

Great service overall. Quick response, ongoing communication, and they took care of all communication with the city/utility. They showed up on time each time they visited. I would definitely call them again if I had a need.

Cody with Malco Electric was terrific. He installed a new kitchen light fixture very quickly and efficiently. Then he very patiently tracked down the wiring pathway for an outside GFCI outlet to a light switch in the garage so I now know how it powers on and off! He replaced the outlet and even switched the way the door to the outlet opened to make it easier to access! Plus, the trip charge was better than other companies and it was clear what they charged. I would use Cody and Malco again.

Called Malco because we were having some issues with tripped outlets. Our house is older and we knew we needed some electrical work done. They sent Cody and he was fantastic. He checked everything and gave us multiple options of how to get the work done. Once agreed, he showed up on time and he came in even a little under the original quote! His work was great and ai will definitely be calling them if we need electrical work in the future!

We have always used Malco for our electrical needs, commercial and personal, and we are especially appreciative of their service at our home yesterday. They had a list of about 6 items, ran into a 7th and an 8th item, but they came on time, prepared, and literally crawled in and through our home to accomplish their list item by item! We thought the work would take much longer, and were told to allow that, but they were amazingly fearless and amazingly efficient! They might consider renaming their business to something like, Malco Ninjas.' They were even kind enough to give our daughter advice on an electrical matter the evening before her recent home closing, so I know they have a second generation customer in our family!

We bought a small food trailer from China, and we went through several other electricians to try and figure out how to get power to it and all the equipment inside, all of them were either too afraid to even look at it, touch it, or gave us extremely dangerous workarounds that still didn't work.These guys came and looked at it and within about 5 minutes they knew exactly what needed to be done. They created us a new hookup adapter, rewired the entire interior to make sure it was safe for us and our equipment, and everything is working fantastically. HUGE thanks to Jimmie and Greg for coming in clutch and saving our butts big time. We will definitely be bringing any future work to these guys because we're confident they're the best.

Malco electric made me wait a month for my appointment for a backup generator estimate, which was fair as generators are in high demand. However, Jimmie, who was meant to show up on February 7th never showed up.I have attempted to contact him and never got a response.

Can’t say enough about this company. The lady that initially answered my call was so friendly and just a real pleasure to speak with. She got an electrician out within a few days ( I didn’t really have an emergency issue) and he was courteous enough to call me to let me know he was going to be late. I feel like that’s a rarity these days, but it really meant a lot he did that. When he (sorry, forgot his name) finished fixing my issue he explained to me everything he did and answered any questions I had after the job was done. Maybe my expectations were unreasonable. I get that some people have bad days or that circumstances make things into a difficult situation. I honestly felt very unsatisfied with the level of service I received. They left after 3/5 things I needed fixed did not get fixed. I felt that they were unprepared, not having the right materials/equipment necessary to properly fix the job. They also came unexpectedly 3 hours before the scheduled time without warning.With all that said, I know that you can't control everything. In the end, I think there is value in customer service. They did their best to make things right and that's above and beyond what most other businesses will do.

This company is the best! Malco Elec. installed several plugs and switches in a party barn as well as installed a huge ceiling fan and three lights for the area. This is the 2nd time I’ve needed their help and both times everything went very smoothly and was done with the utmost in professionalism. Chris even went to the store in north Austin on his way home to pick up the ceiling fan for me when there was a mistake in the delivery! Otherwise I would have had to call them back out to install the fan another day. I’ll definitely hire them again.

We had an emergency outage of epic proportions when a different company made an electrical error causing most of our brakers to be fried!! They came quickly and worked tirelessly for a day and a half to correct the problem. Very friendly, helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. Explained process each step of the way. Above and Beyond! - If you need electric work look no further. I needed some outdoor as well as indoor work done and they finished in a fraction of the time I expected. I even noticed that they replaced a cracked switch cover without me asking. They do great work in record time.

MALCO responded to a short notice change in schedule of my concrete contractor, who wanted to pour foundation for my outdoor Swim Spa 2 weeks earlier than originally planned. MALCO was the only co. willing to bid at such short notice for running the needed electrical supply to the planned Swim Spa location.Despite the short notice, MALCO's price was competitive with the original Electrician who was not able to accommodate the charge of schedule.The primary work scope (running the electrical supply in prepared trench) was completed on time and very professionally.A month after the concrete was poured,MALCO returned to fit the needed GFCI and secure the local Swim Spa disconnect to the edge of the cured concrete slab.Unfortunately, MALCO had great difficulty in securing the planned GFCI breaker as the manufacturer of the style required to match my main electrical panel was not able to quote a firm delivery date. This required a change of scope and a third visit 3 months later, after the Swim Spa arrived, to complete the installation and hook- up of the Swim Spa.Throughout this project MALCO kept me informed and was very professional in the way their Electricians completed the work!

Epitome of making things right. Tech came out and made a mistake, led to an issue the next day, but Cody came out late at night got our issue temporarily fixed and then stayed on top of it and had everything made right in less than 48 hours. The true test of a company is how they act when something does not go perfectly and what they do to make it right. Malco aced that test

There’s no value as a consumer in paying for an apprentice and a licensed electrician, when all that was needed is a licensed electrician. It’s like being charged twice for the same work.

They take two weeks to come out then cancel the appointment. Found a different company on yelp that came out same day for amazing price.

Not a customer and I never will be. One of their crews driving in heavy traffic refused to let me merge in front of them where lanes narrowed on 290. I know traffic in Austin can be frustrating, but everyone else was being decent. This is probably how they conduct themselves all the time. Businesses need to understand they have an image to maintain at all times. Common courtesy can go a long way.

Malco was great to work with. I'm a repeat residential customer. The receptionist is super helpful, and the electricians performed good work. Our light fixture updates throughout our house were finished in less than half a day.
