Benjamin Franklin Plumbing

I called them because I received a post card in the mail for a free trip call charge, I needs a kitchen faucet that I had purchased installed. The plumber seemed nice enough, I had tried to get a ball park figure when I called and was told that could not be done. When he came to the house, on time, he quoted me $315 to put in a faucet and wanted to replace the two shut off valves for $250 each. The total would have been over $850 to do a job that would not have taken him an hour. Those are ridiculous charges.I guess most people call a plumber in an emergency and really don't care what it it costs to fix the problem. Seems this company takes full advantage of that circumstance. What a shame, what ever happened to a fir price for a fair job! If you call them be ready to pay through the nose..

Great experience! Jason Holder was quick, professional, courteous, thorough and committed to perform the job from start to finish! They also made sure that we didn’t have to go through the weekend without water because he came back to complete the job Saturday.

3rd time using Ben Franklin out of Plano and these guys have been consistently awesome. Had a total emergency this weekend. Kids broke the tub handle on the second floor and we couldn't turn the water off. Called BFP around 8pm and they got one of their guys out ASAP. Needless to say, saved me a ton of money in potential water damage costs. Once again, you guys hit it out of the park. Thank you Art and BFP!

The crew has been great repairing our gas line. Professional, quick, even worked through adverse weather conditions to get this restored. Phillip, Matt and Cody have gone above and beyond in the customer service dept.

Used them multiple times, thus today when HWH failed, I call them shortly after 8a and they were at the house by 10:30a, we discussed and reviewed options, they replaced and done by 2:30p, all is good.

6/9/2022 I'm disabled so getting around the house isn't easy. Our home is old, so they had to access the main clean out on the roof.Reason for lower stars. They did a good job, but 2nd technician left our back gate open. Was told toilet tank has a cracked, so I asked them to replace it. Then I was informed there was any in stock. Technician didn't tell me rough in size, so I've have no idea, what size to order. So I called & asked for information to be relayed to me, never getting a call back, that day. Next morning I call & am told they can't service my area! So they are suppose to have the manager/supervisor call...name of Pat.Edited 6/14/2022 Spoke with Pat & discussed, we still have problems. Technician coming in am, to check with camera & give estimate on possible collapsed pipe.I will give this company credit, for being on time & punctual. That I give 5 stars.Edit 6/15/2022Haggi & Devin came out this morning to check the sewer line again & give me an estimate for repair. I also called the city, because the break involves a section of where it hooks into the city line. They came & also looked at the problem & hydro'd the line. They told me & the plumbers that part of the line is the cities & they will fix that section, which will happen within the following weeks. But there's also a section that's on my property that I'll need to fix. So Ben Franklin Plumbing will be sending me some estimates for the repair.I'm changing my 2 star review to 5 because of these 2 gentlemen from Ben Franklin today. Now will see what my insurance company will cover.

Replaced a bad mixing valve on my tankless water heater that was a few months out of warranty, but fixed it as a warranty service because, as the tech put it, they didn't feel right about charging me. I thought this type of customer service was long gone. Thanks BFP!

Ben at Ben Franklin did an excellent job. I had a problem with the cutoff valve for the water in my condo that was important for replacing my dishwasher. He made sure the water line was intact and kept my dishwasher man from electrocuting himself (which wasn't part of Ben's job but was something he did because it was the right thing to do). My day would have been very different if Ben has not been there to save the day. I work as a doctor and can tell you unequivocally that he kept me from having to run a code in my own home because he prioritizes safety. He made sure to protect my home from damage and tried to keep the dishwasher guy (outside company) fron damaging my new dishwasher as he installed it. Ben did all of that while doing his plumbing job and training an apprentice. He was professional and on time. I will hire Benjamin Franklin plumbing in the future and will request Ben in the future. My family has several rental homes and will let our property management company know that Benjamin Franklin Plumbers is our plumbing service of choice. Thanks, Ben!

I want to commend Charley W. for his great customer service today. It took him 4-hours to locate and fix my plumbing problem, but he stayed focused and with it until he got it - having him on my roof until 8 p.m. I appreciate his professionalism (which is what I've experienced any time your plumbers have worked on my house) - because of your excellent customer service, I always plan to call Benjamin Franklin Plumbing when I need plumbing work done.

I was charged 400 for replacing pressure balance which cost $50 part for 30 min labor.

These people won't tell you what they are going to charge ahead of time, they have a price book they go by, and kn9w what they will charge ahead of time, but won't let you know so they can come to your home and charge a 40.00 service fee to tell you they want over 350.00 to replace a kitchen faucet. What a scam! Spoke to the Operations Manager and he was extremely RUDE, and combative over the phone. Would never call them again!

Ryan, with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was extremely helpful and professional with a recent repair at my mother's house. His attitude and demeanor exhibited the best of this holiday season -- December 2015.

Timelines, friendliness and quality of parts used in repair were all “over the top.” They even checked other commodes for similar issues without being asked. Will definitely post their card in utility room for future reference .

Technician was able to determine the problem quickly, while others wanted to charge expensive testing.

Did not make it clear that I would be charged a Trip Charge to come out and give me an estimate. Most company's provide free estimates. What the heck is happening to our service industry. They will not even provide plan old plumber services, like hooking up a water heater I intend to buy from Home Depot. It has to be ours or we will not touch it the tech stated. Then he proceeded to bash Home Depots Water Heater line. Really P's me off to think he charged be $60.00 bucks for a estimate and he was here about 10 minutes.

This office doesn't know what they're doing. They get around the If there's any delay, it's you we pay. by never actually putting the appointment in their books. Great way to waste taking a day off of work. Horrible service.

Had to have someone come out to see if I had a gas leak in my attic after having a new roof installed on my house. He was great at explaining to me what real gas should smell like and everything I needed to look out for with a gas leak. Fortunately, I did not have a gas leak. The company was recommended to me by my air/heat maintenance guy and I'm very pleased with their service.

Mr. Smith and his associate were punctual and polite. They understood and replaced my faucet in a few minutes. I have had other people tell me it would be a difficult area to reach but they remedied the leak without a problem.

I was so satisfied with Haggai work,he was determined to get the correct pipe that was clogging up our bathroom and laundry room clean. The technician was on time, and even texted me two hours before the scheduled time of arrival To let me know they had finished another job early and could arrive sooner if I want it. They were able to assess the job, give me a quote within a couple minutes of being there, and then execute the job quickly while explaining to me everything that was needed, what was done, and what warrantees they have for the work. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely be calling them back for future plumbing work.

Michael and Alex came to our house to repair a damaged pipe near our water heater. They were professional and kind, and did an excellent job.

I had a situation where my circulating hot water did not work. I had hot water at only some locations. After BF was working for quite a while replacing the pump and correcting the way my two hot water heaters were plumbed (by another McKinney plumber). There was no difference. After some head scratching the BF plumber decided the return line was also installed wrong. (again by the same other plumbers). In removing the way the return line was installed it was discovered the drain line on one tank was completely clogged due to corrosion due to copper connected to steel. It was repaired correctly and it works perfectly. My wife and I want to thank David Gilmore for his professionalism and knowledge in repairing the screw-up from another plumber.

Needed problem with washing machine water valves fixed on a Sunday. Finding a plumbing company that will promptly respond to calls and actually send a plumber out on the weekend after hours was challenging, until I called this company. They did inform me several times that a Sunday call would be much more expensive than scheduling for a Mon-Fri, so they gave full disclosure on that; we still chose Sunday for our scheduling needs fully understanding it would be expensive. I originally called the number on their website on Saturday night to try to schedule for Sunday morning and was told that they don't get into the office until 9am on Sunday and someone would call me then. Before 830am, I received the call from their phone scheduler person to see what service was needed. She said she would call the plumber to see how soon he could be here, and called me back 20 minutes later to say it would be about an hour, which was great. Plumber came to our house promptly. He called to let me know his approximate arrival time. He was courteous and pleasant (not grumpy about having to help us on a Sunday). He tested things and fixed the problem. I definitely recommend this company.

We had tree roots growing through our connection to the city sewer, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was able to diagnose and solve the problem within a few days of the problems manifesting themselves. Corey Boyer and Jeff Baer specifically were very professional, courteous, and helpful in diagnosing and solving this problem. Corey found the problem initially, and Jeff was able to help me determine the best course of action, then personally kept me informed throughout the process. I cannot recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing highly enough! I have told all of my friends about them, and should anyone ever had a plumbing issue big or small, I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

Ben Franklin hires shady employees who are not legally certified or hold valid plumbing contractor's license. Ignacio Mena had his contractor license revoked in CA and he was arrested in Placer County CA in 2015 for performing plumbing jobs without a license and is currently on probation in CA. He is also a thief and stole a check in July 2016 and forged the signature to cash it, probably to pay for a new license in Texas. He is a true con artist. BEWARE!

My Benjamin Franklin plumber installed a new water heater after my old one busted and flooded our house after hours. He worked till 10:30 PM tonight . This was fourth plumbing company that I called after others wouldn't even look at the water heater in an emergency.

Tony is the smartest, hardest-working home services professional I've ever worked with, and I have worked with dozens of professionals. He is thoughtful and detail-oriented. We had several mystery plumbing problems and he figured them out when all others - 3 visits from Roto Rooter, 2 visits from a mom and pop plumber and 1 visit from Baker Bros - could not figure it out.

He was kind, patient, and so willing to take the time to explain all our options and help us come to the best fix within our budget. This is why they have our continued business.

Chuck was awesome both in personality and skill level. It was a pleasant experience.

There was a shut-off valve leaking on a toilet. Jeff came to the house within the time window allotted. I had another appointment and my wife was there to let him in. When I returned, he had done a great job of removing the old valve and replacing it with a new one as well as a new connector tube from the valve to the tank (total parts cost about $25). He cleaned up the area nicely after finishing. The reason I can not give 5-stars is that I feel the charge was too much. The old connector valve was soldered on, so it had to be cut off. The new valve was put on with a compression nut; however, when I looked at the invoice, I was charged for installing a soldered valve, $223, instead of the compression nut fitting which would have been $117. The job took approximately 1 hour to perform, he wrote on the invoice the arrival time of 0905 and my wife said he had left by 1015.I do want to emphasize that the work that Jeff did was exemplary, but I do have the sense that I was overcharged. Perhaps this could have been explained to me and straightened out if I had been able to be at home. No explanation was offered to my wife.

We had a sewer line backup over night and flood the first floor of our house. I called first thing in the morning and they were out within 30 minutes. I did wait until 8:00am so I was not charged the after hours premium. The plumber was very knowledgeable regarding the type of sewer line issue we had and had the blockage cleared very quickly. The plumber was very clean cut and answered every question we had. Going to work with the insurance company now and try to retain Ben Franklin Plumbing to repair the separated pipe under the foundation. I think they are a little more expensive than other plumbers, but they have a good warranty and I believe you get what you pay for...

He did what I asked, nothing more nothing less. No upsales, or any of the stuff you see from the competitors. Have used this company before and will continue to do so. GREAT JOB

Worst plumbing experience I have ever had. We had a dripping bathroom tub, now we still have a dripping bathroom tub and more issues. I was at work so my wife had to handle everything. The first time they came out they diagnosed the issue has a special part and that they would need to order it and come back. While here they tried to sell my wife on new fixture heads throughout instead of worrying about the issue. The next day they came back out with the special part. The special part was not the issue and instead they tried to sell us on replacing the whole bathroom. They installed the part and it didn’t stop the drip. While here again, they tried to sell my wife on fixtures for the other bathroom (which we have had no issues). This morning I get up to shower after they have done their “work” and it appears everything was taken part when it was just a hot water issue. When they put it back together they messed something up because the center handle which controls the shower head or tub faucet won’t go all the way in one direction. This was never an issue! Now while we take a shower, the shower head has no pressure because all the water is coming out of the tub faucet. I will never use this company again.

Sink pop-up drain was jammed down. James looked at the problem, got it fixed, then tested the draining. He found the installing plumber had fouled the drain with putty when installing the sink drain.

The technicians that Ben Franklin sent to our house for a failed hot water heater did anEXCELLENT job. The first team attempted to repair unit but they were unable to, so Ben Franklin replaced under warranty! The second team completed install today and we have hot water again!!! I can not say enough positive and good about the response and service from Ben Franklin!!! Highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs!

I felt very unsafe when one of their workers in a tarnish uniform, almost like a cop came to to my dooor and looked at our water line without our knowledge and tried to scam me out of my money claiming its broke let alone pushy as hell!

Had an issue with front desk not following instructions on calling me on my cell phone. This happened not only once but three times. I knew I was not going to be home so I gave out my cell phone and told BF only to call me on my cell phone. Each time when I got home there was a message on my home phone from BF. Never once did they try my cell phone,Tim was great at fixing the plumbing problem. I wouldn't hesitate to ask for him again.

We did some price comparison and by far BFP was the best priced. But really what puts BFP ahead of the competition is the professionalism of Cindy, who took my trouble call for action and Jeff Baer, the tech. who ultimately performed the work. Thank you both Cindy & Jeff. I would not think twice to call BFP to do any plumbing related work for us in the future, be it a repair, replacement or renovation. First of all the office staff is always helpful and goes the extra mile to help out, even on weekends! My technician, Ben arrived here on time (usually a 2 hour window), quickly fixed the issue and kept the mess cleaned up, he explained the process step by step and offered helpful suggestions for future but was not trying to sell me on anything I didn't want or need, it was a painless, comfortable experience, he was friendly and courteous, very professional and efficient, I only call Ben Franklin for my plumbing needs.

I needed a leaking hose faucet replaced and called BF Plumbing hoping to get someone out the next week. To my surprise their excellent customer service had a service technician available in one hour. David Ray was at my home on time and with everything he needed to replace my faucet. He took the time to explain why the old faucet failed and what I can do to prevent future failures. Overall, the service and workmanship were excellent, the pricing fair, and the entire experience enjoyable. my original builder left a pipe uncapped inside of wall and placed ordinance tape that eventually broke loose causing leak. The service was very timely and courteous.

We had a water heater suddenly start leaking from the tank into the pan on us last weekend. I called Monday afternoon and Benjamin Franklin was able to schedule a crew to come out first thing Tuesday morning.Since our unit was > 10 years old I expected to have to replace it, but our lead plumber Ben was able to work things out for us economically given the larger job, and we threw multiple other items in to save even more while we already had their attention.There was no hard sell and Ben and Logan were honest and trustworthy and performed high quality work.We are very satisfied customers.

I needed a plumber with a camera to unclog my main drain and they had a special going on. I set up an easy appt online and they came out the next day. Don was very knowledgeable and I found out I have a broken pipe. He then gave me an estimate for repairing it. They were very prompt and texted me for an earlier appt when they had a cancellation. Great service!

Arthur did a terrific job replacing a refrigerator water inlet valve which had malfunctioned. He had to cut a section of drywall out in order to access the connection. Then he soldered the new valve in. His work was neat, complete and professional. He left the work area very clean even though the job itself generated a bit of residue. I'd use him (and Benjamin Franklin) again in a heartbeat!

Do NOT use this company! Had a leak under our slab, they dug up 19-foot tunnel under the house to fix the leak at a charged of $10K. 2 weeks later ANOTHER leak in the SAME pipe and they want to charge another $10k – CRAZY. They claim it is not covered under their warranty which states “covered for 5 years if not in the “same area”. They do not believe that 18 inches on the same pipe is the same area. To add insult to injury, have been without water for 2 days and they can’t get a plumber to our house until tomorrow.

At 7AM Monday, I got a call from the office to confirm my requested time slot!On the day of our appointment, I had a call from the office telling me that Howard (our plumber from Ben Franklin) would be with me at the allotted time as well as a text message with his photo!Howard was very professional and friendly - he did an initial inspection and explained the cost to me, then just got on with the job! When he finished, the bathroom was left neat and tidy and of course our toilet was fixed!I would highly recommend Ben Franklin plumbing (and Howard)! They were on time as advertised. That's the only thing I can say that is positive. I changed the float assembly and flapper. When securing the line from the wall the nut on the supply line cracked. This is all that needed repair. Instead, another new float assembly and flapper were put in. In addition a new fill tube and seal between tank and bowl was installed. Claimed a crack in the fill tube had to be replaced. There was zero leakage between the tank and bowl. So, leaving my wife at home to take care of it I ended up paying $467 for a $150 repair and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing stole my brand new float assembly and flapper. Will never use or recommend. Take advantage of women and very overpriced.

We needed a total sewage line replacement -- 60-year-old cast iron pipes were heavily corroded or altogether gone. This was honestly my nightmare, and hit. We got quotes from a few places and they all came out to approximately the same.We went with Benjamin Franklin because Jeff Baer, the project manager, walked us through the process, answered questions frankly, and went out of his way to make sure we were involved in every step and just to see how we were doing day to day.The biggest piece was digging out a full tunnel under the house -- the company they work with to do this was quick and professional. They even finished half a day early.Justin was the on-site plumber overseeing and doing the day to day work, and he was friendly, knowledgeable, and good to our pets! I was never in the dark, and even though i'm working from home I was able to do so with little disruption in my day to day work.Crucially, Justin was able to figure out a way to get the work done under our kitchen sink without busting concrete.That's kind of the story of this: Ben Franklin was a little more expensive than the other places we looked at, but they figured out how to get the job done right without adding on a ton of other headaches that we'd have to deal with. They did have to cut some drywall, but were able to recommend a service to help with that right away.Stellar service, top recommendation.

Nathan, the plumbing technician that repaired our leak was above all, very professional, but also friendly, courteous, and prompt. He called me personally during each step of the process, and focused on doing the safest and least invasive repair given the nature of the hot water line slab leak. Clean up was stellar. We have used Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for years and will continue to do so, and would recommend calling them if you find yourself in need of a repair.

I should have read the reviews that say this companies employees are rude and the repairs overpriced. I felt trapped by the service charge and had the repairs done. I tried to use a $50 coupon and was told waiving the service charge was a discount and you can’t use two discounts. So why is the coupon offered? The employees are not so much rude as they repeat the same “that’s the way it is” verbiage in response to complaints. I am going to start researching plumbers now for the next time so this doesn’t happen again.

Our water heater decided to go out on us Saturday evening. Even though we have had it for 22 years it's never a good time for this. I tried to shut off the water to the tank and that broke as well. So, it leaked all night and flooded our laundry room the next morning. I called Franklin and they sent Kenny out to give us an estimate. He also capped the pipe where the valve broke. It was certainly not cheap but Kenny was out the next morning at 8:15 to take out the old water heater and installed the new one. He was friendly and worked hard. I spent most of the time watching him and asked questions. He was very patient and explained the process and ways to make the new one last for many years. He was finished by 12:30. I was very pleased with his work.

Steer clear. Technician did not arrive at the scheduled time and called 15 minutes before to say he would be another 3 hours. False advertising on the “punctual plumber” promise that they will reimburse for every minute they are late. Clearly a gimmick. Have made x4 attempts to call and resolve the issue and have never received a call back from a manger named Pat. The customer service rep said I could not speak to him even though he had just asked him a question when we were on the phone. This business does not seem to want to have transparent conversations with customers. If you value your time, stay away. We have had a great experience with Sunrise Plumbers if looking for alternate options.

We called and asked if they provide free estimate. The lady said No, we have trip charges, from $39 - $59Then we ordered their services and confirmed the trip charge is $59 due to 2 hr timeframe. It turns out plumbing is fine, the leakage is coming from roof. BUT we were charged $126 for inspection!! The lady on the phone did not mention it at all....The plumber insisted he would not find out the issue without inspection, so there is no way I'm only responsible for trip charge.Texas Green provides estimates at $75 and it can be deducted to the final bill....I should have worked with them 😢

First time was great this time it was absolutely awful, Gross overcharge of service. The man was here for 30 minutes to include writing up the bill. He ran an auger down one shower drain $199. The bathtub next to the drain he removed the stopper and pulled hair out - took a couple minutes. The charge for for that was $108. With a $59 service call the 1/2 hour cost $362. Ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, EVER! BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER. PRICING RIDICULOUS.

Fine job of doing a simple main line drain cleaning. They do the small stuff well. Pricing is competitive (especially if you use one of the coupons). Technicians are competent. Not sure if I'd want them to do big stuff though..I used them one time two years ago at a different house and they recommended a $6000 replacement of the entire 50 foot main line from the house to the street. My regular plumber replaced a 5 foot section for $1500. Nonetheless, this experience was positive.

Here's the deal...we all know plumbers can be expensive. That being said, I tried everything DIY off the shelf to fix my problem on my old house and it didn't work. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing because I was at the I don't care what it costs phase of the repair. Ben and Logan came out and took a look and said we got this...and they did. They were professional, personable, and more than competent (and the repair wasn't as expensiveas I thought it was going g to end up being). I couldn't be more pleased and will call them again. My Angies List purchase was followed up immediately by an email from Benjamin Franklin and shortly thereafter by a phone call helping me schedule their service. Adam came exactly as promised. Adam is exceptional in manner and competence. He determined that our gate valve was slightly leaking and needed to be replaced. He quoted a price ~$171 to replace it. He said that the moisture problem on our slab causing our wood flooring to fail was caused by surface ground water and not from a pipe leak in the slab. He suggested we get a chlorine filter because the high level would cause copper to deteriorate and eventually leak. He quoted a price of $3503 for that. We did not purchase either suggestion but continue to consider them. We have a flooring problem to solve first. Adam was very helpful and a great salesman. We will certainly us him for plumbing service in the future.

Water tank Very professional and polite

We had an emergency situation with a 50 gallon tank-type water heater in our second floor attic which had failed and was leaking. The weather was terrible and roads were icy; traffic was slow. James Barker, our Ben Franklin plumber, called ahead to alert us that he was on his way. When he arrived he analyzed the situation, explained everything to us in detail, organized the delivery of a new unit and parts, replaced the old unit and got the new one into service.He and his assistant were polite and helpful throughout the visit. They were careful to avoid damaging any fixtures or furnishings while removing the old unit and replacing it with the new in our second floor attic (a delicate operation). Throughout the procedure James was informative about what he was doing and how the system would work.This was thoroughly professional service and very helpful. Can you find cheaper? Almost certainly...but these guys are honest, stand by their work, and are very punctual...especially in an emergency. They show you what's failing, show you the repairs, and it's done right...all with a 2 year warranty.

David was very nice to work with and even ordered a camera to use with the drain clean out. He pointed out branches that were coming thru the pipe at about 67 ft out. We could not find the city clean out but now I know there might be one and will call the city to ask. For now, my main drain is clean enough for another few years! Be sure to get the price quoted clearly at the beginning with the trip charge included. Those online coupons come in handy. Make sure to print them out!

Timeline: Tech departs my property at 10am after servicing 2 water heaters in the attic and flushing them to the upstairs bathroom. Good job, no issues, nice guy. 6 hours later, I find water dripping from the downstairs bathroom fan. I go up to the attic and investigate. I call Ben Franklin and they tell me to turn off the water, we'll come out in two days. Not the answer I expected with water running through my walls. Later in the evening, I go to the upstairs bathroom to get a towel and step in water. After investigating, it is leaking from the toilet. My daughter left for the Navy 2.5 years ago, so nobody uses the upstairs bathroom. I shut off the water. The only person that has been in there has been the technician, odd coincidence. He leaves and a few hours later it's leaking. 1 day later, nobody has called to follow up and see if shutting off the water has fixed the issue. 2 days later, the technician shows up. I explain the situation and he looks at the toilet and says it's leaking from the bottom, the bolt is loose. I ask if it can be tightened? No, the seals are probably bad so it's no use, better just to replace it. So, to find the leak, we had to turn on the water, so now it's leaking again. The valve won't shut, now the water is flowing through the fan again downstairs. He explains that, There is no proof that our technician caused this, It's just a coincidence. But, we can replace the toilet for you. He leaves, I have water flowing back through the fan. Mind you he never tried tightening the nut, not their problem. I go upstairs to try and stop it at least temporarily and tighten the nut. Guess what, the leak stopped, at least long enough so I can get a competitor to Ben Franklin to my house to replace the toilet. Never again will I use them. The water heater flushing fine, customer service and follow-up would get a zero if that was available. I asked about the company wanting to provide good customer service for word of mouth advertising and such and he calmly explained to me that realistically they may only get a few referrals from me. Again, he reiterated, There's no evidence that it was our fault I know it seems unlikely, but there's no proof.

The first time I have used Ben Franklin. I thought they were as good as I could hope for. Arthur gave me options and he worked to give me the repair with the greatest savings. Next time I need plumbing services I'll call Ben Franklin and ask for Arthur specifically

However, in the process he noticed we had some water damage on our walk behind the washer and felt like he needed to check our washer return drainage and sure enough it was also clogged and he took care of that as well. We’ve been having a lot of issues with water in our laundry room and I feel like Derrick resolved some long standing problems in our pipes.Well done Derrick- thanks for your persistence!!

Great to work with and very responsive. Had to replace a leaking water heater in my condominium which was not only hard to get to but also involved shutting the water off to the entire complex. My technician, Chris Reeves worked with me by first draining and turning off the water heater so we didn’t have to worry about more water leaking but he also was flexible enough to wait until I got HOA approval to shut off the water to finish the replacement. He presented me at the start of the job with the job cost, so there were no surprises. What they quoted me is what I paid.

Dispatcher Called to make appointment earlier today 11/12 at 11:26am, I called back at 12:08 left job in Dallas drove home to N Richland Hills, called 1:28 pm to find out where plumber was, sat on hold on 3 minutes only to find out theycalled me by mistake. So, not happy. Wasted 3 hours of my day now and can not drive back to work ,since they MAY show up at 3- 5pm, as scheduled.

Great and quick response. They were able to get my water fixed same day. I was so happy to have water. And there is also a 2 year warranty on the work performed.

We had a clogged drain due to roots, and they fixed us right up. They had great communication by text and email beforehand, and someone ended up being available about an hour before the scheduled 2-hour window. They gave fair options on what to do next, including attempting fixes on my own. Would probably use again, though it was a little pricey for what they did.

Howard communicated directly and was very helpful. He let me know everything that was going on. He has fast and very effective.

I had request a service from Benjamin Franklin for a possible leak in the bathroom. I was told that service call fee is $39 for four hour window to arrive and plumber will give estimate. At that moment if I agree to Benjamin Franklin to continue with repair, the service call fee will be waved. When plumber arrived he asked for authorization to start work and quote a diagnostic charge of $125. I asked then what is this $39 for?? I was told that it was to show up at your door. Now if you want us to find the problem and give you estimate you have to pay additional $125. Once estimate is given if I decide to go with them only $39 will be waved and not $125 diagnostic fee. I was surprised to hear as who ever I called for repair, the service call fee includes the finding problem and estimate provided. Looks like Benjamin Franklin has different business model than others. Beware and clarify all kinds of service fee before you call them. Plumber even told me that once they are there at your property they charge different pricing for different leak test which is on top of estimate to fix it. So you pay service call fee, diagnostic fee and repair cost. I do not see them competitive in pricing. Not sure if ever call them again.

Juan the technician arrived on time & fully masked, gloved, & with booties which was wonderful for my families safety during Covid 19. Juan was so professional introduced himself went to start the process of draining & cleared the line & than put a camera to check that all was cleared. So satisfied & the company had a special so saved us money. I now have a plumber I can trust for any problems. Juan made the whole process thorough & explained everything. Satisfied & truly a God sent company. I would recommend them to anyone.

This was the only company in the area that has the ability to send someone the same day, which is so appreciated. This is about the 4th time I’ve used Benjamin Franklin. For this visit, from my phone call to request service to the completion of the job it was stress free. Jason was on time and replaced a leaking outdoor spigot and then returned the very next day to remove a failing Bosch tankless water heater and replace it with a standard tank water heater. His work was of the highest quality. He was neat and installed it with perfection. He worked constantly all day in the garage and attic and on the roof - such a hard worker! I liked that I knew who was coming out to our place and exactly when to expect them. When David arrived, he gave me three very clear options and then quickly got to work on the one we chose. He was professional the whole time. I will definitely use them again!

I hired Benjamin Franklin to fix my water heater. It was a Rheem water heater less than a year old. They did the job and replace the lower element. However they cannot break down the invoice for me the labor in the parts are all one number. Rheem will reimburse me my money if they have a breakdown of the labor and parts on the invoice but Benjamin Franklin refuse to do a simple task and give me an invoice with the labor and the parts separate. Thus I cannot get my money back from Rheem. Do not do business with them. I’ve been trying for two weeks about a simple invoice correction.

They checked all the leaks but they did not fix the shower head leak. They charged me $545 for nothing. They are a scam. I do not recommend to anyone

I can't say enough good things about BF's plumber David. A+ Professional, nice young family man and very smart. Arrived on site quickly, diagnosed problem right away. Ended up installing new tankless heater. He removed current system while the new one was being delivered and was ready to start installing it as soon as it arrived. He worked consistently and quickly. He cleaned up everything after he was finished and took the time to explain and show me what he did step by step, answering all of my questions. Wow! Fabulous work ethic, exceeded all expectations!

Technician dispatched on initial visit, diagnosed shut off valves needed to be replaced. Upon replacing them, noted that we had no leaks, everything working as normal. However everything was not working as normal, one of the valves was not flowing water to the faucet at a normal rate, actually lower than it was flowing previously. At the same time a leak had developed under the faucet.A second call to Benjamin Franklin plumbing dispatch the same technician, who this time said the faucet would need to be replaced to repair the leak. He did not repair the flow issue that was created as part of his first service visit, and before we could hand him a new faucet to install, he got in his truck and left, said he didn’t feel like waiting (5-7 minutes, even though he had not finished the repair issue we originally called him for).Benjamin Franklin then communicated that they did not have anybody else that could help today because they were all busy, despite the fact that this is not our problem, and they actually created the problem with their initial repair. If you contract with Benjamin Franklin plumbing, and technician they dispatch is named Corey McCutchens, save yourself the hassle and send him away… incompetency is his only job title.

We have used Benjamin Franklin nearly every year for various issues on our old home. we have always felt they have done a good job and been fair in their pricing. This year, we needed some new faucets installed. Because our home is old, we chose to bring out a professional plumber over handyman in case any issues came up, so we called Benjamin Franklin. The job ended up being 100% standard hookup, no valves or anything needed to be replaced. Plumber came out, was here for 1.5 hours, tried to talk me into several issues to “fix” that I needed to agree to up front before we even knew they would be issues (in which they were not issues, after all) then charged $720 to simply install the faucets. Our garbage disposal was also unhooked due to getting new countertops, and I asked for a price quote to simply rehook (again, simply rehook something that was already there) and he quoted me over $500.Shame on you, Benjamin Franklin for price gouging and taking advantage of your customers. We won’t be returning customers and I have learned my lesson.

Had a great experience with an extremely professional technician. Recently had our kitchen sink start to back up / drain very slowly. I did some troubleshooting and initial repairs myself but reached the end of my experience & my tools, and the issue was not solved. We scheduled an appointment with one phone call. Day of the appointment we got a text letting us know that our technician was en route (on time and as scheduled) along with a photo of the technician. Nice extra touch for safety & security. He identified the problem and was very honest about repair options and what may be needed. Once underway the repair was completed quickly, and he left us with some future guidance.I don't have enough experience with other plumbers to know how the cost of this repair would compare with other companies doing the same thing, but for high quality work and professional service I felt the price and value was fair.If we experience plumbing issues in the future, I will be calling them back and requesting the same technician.

Contacted them this morning for the guest bathroom sink drainage problem. Ben Masquelier came a couple of hours after my contact, who was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Technician Haggai did a great job diagnosing the issue even with a camera through the cleanout to verify problem was localized in the bathroom, then came in and cleared the drain quickly. I liked the fact that clearing drains is Haggai's full time expertise. Never seen this specialization in a plumbing company! Rate was reasonable and they were definitely on time.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use this company! They do not take responsibility for anything they mess up. If you have a maintenance plan with them, cancel it NOW! They will blame YOU for not doing something they are responsible for telling you about AND for not calling THEM when you had a problem. This company has caused me multiple A/C problems from burning up my heating element, to missing days from work because they were trying to fix it and now to almost making me lose my entire A/C unit because they missed a hole and failed to put the schrader caps back on my system. But it's my fault for not calling them and paying them to fix a problem. NEVER, EVER USE THIS COMPANY! But, whatever the issue, it will be YOUR fault and you will not be reimbursed for your time, your money or loss of income. PATHETIC!

I’ve never used this company for plumbing but by golly their drivers are horrible. I work down the street from one of their offices and a driver almost runs me over once a week. It’s terrifying. I normally wouldn’t use reviews for something of this nature but it’s concerning that your drivers are tailgating and almost running into my car weekly. Please address this!

Great service used them many times

It was 1 AM early Wednesday morning and we needed someone quickly as water was pouring out from our laundry room into the kitchen. Our kitchen sink was also backed up. There was food coming up the drain in the laundry and the sink was filled too. ​Honestly, we initially called our usual plumbing service, Baker Bros. but were told the earliest they could have someone out was Thursday; no time was specified.My son began to google emergency plumbing services and came across Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. Micheal Jason was at my home by 2:30 AM and done by 4:30 AM. We're very thankful to have come across BFP and will definitely be using BFP in the future as long as the price is right! Now I will say this, the emergency service fee/overnight charge could have been a little less in my opinion... It was $289.

A toilet improperly flushing. After exhausting DIY remedies called Benjamin Franklin for professional service. (Used them years ago with much success.) Cory was prompt, efficient, very knowledgeable, personable but professional, and went through steps before diagnosing the problem. There are plumbers & then there are good plumbers. Joseph came over and he was very polite and ran some tests but unfortunately we couldn’t determine what it was so he offered me a service by his supervisor.Next week, Mr. Cory Greenwood came over and wow!! He is the man!! He was very very knowledgeable, honest, alerted and cautious with what he was doing. I was very impressed. He would only tell you what needs to be fixed, he won’t try to sell you things that you don’t need just because you have no clue when it comes to plumbing.There are many plumbers that think they’re plumber but this guy here is a real plumber with a heart. He would explain everything to you. He would stick around and clear all your doubts.Benjamin Franklin got another customer for life now.

They WAY overcharge for repairs. You have to pay for them just to come to your house and they make you wait a few days- so by the time they come you’ll pay anything. If you need it done; they will do a good job, but if you can call someone else you can save about 1/2

Have used them on multiple projects. This last time new tech came onsite and did requested work. Then took a water pressure test after work was done. No tech has ever done this. He then said that he wouldn't warranty the work he just did unless I payed over $3,000 for some pressure regulator. Trash practices.

My whole experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was professional. They responded quickly to my call and sent James to find and resolve a gas leak issue. James is knowledgeable and explained everything to my satisfaction as he completed the necessary repairs.

It started as a simple problem - the pilot light on our two-year-old Rheem water heater went out, and I couldn’t get it to re-light and stay on. I called Benjamin Franklin, who installed the water heater two years ago. They sent out Ben Masquelier, and I’m glad they did! Ben diagnosed the problem as a faulty gas control valve. Apparently the gas control valve on Rheem water heaters manufactured in 2000 tend to have problems. Ben first tried to locate a replacement gas control valve in Dallas, and then ordered one directly from Rheem to be delivered to our house for Ben to install. It turns out that that gas control valve was on back-order with Rheem. Since we had been without hot water for three days at this point, Ben said that he would replace the entire water heater, still within the original ten-year warranty period. He came out the same day that he learned that the part was back-ordered. Ben and his partner Logan expertly installed an entirely new Rheem water heater, with a newer gas control valve. Throughout this process, we appreciate Ben’s professionalism and expertise, and we appreciate Ben’s concern that my wife and I have our hot water restored. Thank you, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing!

We called Benjamin Franklin to unclog our sink. We were notified when Corey was on his way and could even track him. He arrived within the timeframe they gave us and had his mask. Corey figured out the problem quickly, fixed it, and was on his way.

I had annual maintenance on my water heater done this time. The team called to remind me of it, schedule it, and then I got several texts updating me on the status of the technician prior to the appointment - which happened well within the window. Timothy was professional, courteous, and he was VERY thorough on his inspection. He found something that needed to be repaired and he did it promptly and I can tell it was done by someone who knew what they were doing. Thanks for the GREAT service!!!I will say that I was not thrilled with what I considered a high price for the water heater up front. But the included annual maintenance so far has made that high price worth every penny! BTW: I always told myself that I would do the maintenance when I installed them myself - but in 25 years, I probably did it twice on three water heaters. And that's why I had to replace them more often than I should have. I feel much better now.

Had a leaky shower facet that needed a pressure valve replacement. Unfortunately I had to turn off the water to my home until it’s replaced, because the shower won’t shutoff otherwise. I was glad that they provided same day service, so I was ok with the $79 service fee. After arriving, he confirmed the small part needed replacing. However, he was going to charge me almost $450. Mind you, the replacement part costs less than $40 and the labor less than 30 mins to replace. What you get for in flexible appointment scheduling, you more than pay for in parts and labor. Definitely will not use them again. My advice is to look elsewhere.

I've used Benjamin Franklin several times now and every experience has been wonderful. Today I woke up to a pipe leak that left my yard a swamp. After my intial panic and turning off the water shutoff , I called to get an appointment. My call was at 8:26 am and the plumber was leaving at 10:14 am with the pipe fixed and water up and running. Yes, less than 2 hours! Expectations completely blown away. Thank you so much for such great service.

David was very knowledgeable. He saw the problem with my Rinnai tankless water heater. Confirming the diagnosis Rinnai had given me. While he was here I had him trouble shoot the toilet in master bath. Had him fix that too.Very satisfied and impressed.

From the time I contacted Benjamin Franklin, they were extremely responsive and punctual.They give a 2 hour window vs an all day window some service providers give. They text a photo of the technician they are sending, which I found to be really nice. Good to know who you’re letting into your home. Chris arrived and walked me through exactly what he was going to do, and his communication throughout was exceptional. I never felt like he was out to make a buck, but was really genuine in explaining what needed to be done and providing his professional opinion on the scope of work. Unfortunately due to living in a condo, I am at the mercy of this HOA, so Chris will have to come back on Monday to finish the job (no fault of his or Ben Franklin) - just glad they were able to make the job a priority and are ready to come back ASAP.

My plumber, James was absolutely the BEST! He did an incredible and professional job of replacing my water heater. He single handedly wrestled the old beast away and put in a new one. He was experienced and outstanding in all aspects of a complicated job. He did all the details well and cleaned up when he was done. The place I have the problem is with their order and scheduling folks. Initially, I was told that a plumber would be out that afternoon. Then the plumber assigned called me at 5PM and said he didn't have another water heater on his truck and the warehouse was closed. He wasn't coming. So, with NO water of any type in the house, I was scheduled for the next day with the same man. When I called back to double check I was fortunate to get Debra who discovered that the plumber I was scheduled with had the day off and would not have come as scheduled! Fortunately, Debra saved the day and scheduled me with James, who did a great job. But that mistake by the other scheduler almost caused a catastrophe. Most of their staff is great but that one weak link almost made this a zero star rating.

I had a very bad experience with them.Our water heater was not working.it would try to start but the water would still be cold. My husband googled and found them online. They came out looked at my water heater just the outside and said you need to change the whole unit out will cost $6000 plus. Then said probably between $6000 to $8000. Very intimidating and said its a safety issue and said will not touch it unless we agree to fully replace it. Just to come out there was a fee. So basically paid them for intimidating us. We had another plumbing company come out who said that the copper wire needs to be changed and very common issue and charged us less than $160. Since then no problem water heater has been working perfectly. I don't know about the good reviews here. Maybe a different person came out to them. So please get quote from different people before deciding who to go with.

We had a sewer line clog on a Sunday morning. Benjamin Franklin promptly came and cleared out the roots.

Horrible customer service that suggests an opportunistic and unethical company of plumbers from the beginning. I called the answering service at 9pm and was told that the after-hour rate is $189. I agreed and was told a plumber would call me back in a few minutes to tell me his ETA. More than 45 minutes go by before a plumber calls me back. The plumber then tells me that he would arrive 15 minutes past ten and so the after-10pm rate of $289 would apply. But I called an hour ago I explained - well before 10pm. He tells me it doesn’t matter. I told him no thanks. Waste of my time.

Everytime we call Benjamin Franklin we are not disappointed! Mary was nice and efficient scheduling our appointment, and Aaron H. was amazing. Very polite and clear with his explanations of what needed to be done to fix our pipe problem. Got the job done in a timely manner and gave great advice. Will definitely call again. Both Plumbers were polite and helpful but they should be to fix such a minor repair near the gauge of pvc that had minor cracks and took a few hours of labor and $25 of material at the most for $2005.00. If someone told me this story I would be completely in disbelief. Who can validate such an exorbitant amount for a repair that any layman could do with no special tools or crazy hours or days of labor? I am beside myself with disgust and aggravation for being taken advantage of in this way. No explanation will or could pass this as reasonable and fair pricing whatsoever and managements reasoning was basic and not really in any way sensible. Unless you are completely hard up or desperate do not use Benjamin Franklin's Plumbing Services. They have lost their ever-loving minds on what is prudent and fair in their pricing. I have no idea what folks who are not as flush as I am with capital would do but pay the $285 trip charge and send the plumber on his way with nothing to show for their money. $2005.00 for replacing cracked pvc and only a foot with some minor turns that a fairly intelligent 10-year-old could've fixed. I am disabled and 65 so I was at their mercy. Otherwise, the repair the first time needed another plumber to come back out to repair it properly a second time. I still feel as if they have money charged that should be rebated back to me. Welcome to USA 2.0 where you have the right to get screwed and treated like a moron for premium extreme prices and no rights whatsoever. BTW they did not charge me for the second trip and like I said the Field Supervisor and the Plumbers were good to me and this is not something they are in charge of. This is upper management having absolutely no idea what fair market value and price for a laundry list of very minor services should be. Wake up all you Companies who think this is legit. I did not get what I was promised. Technician showed up without the promised advanced phone call. Did not give me a quote before he started working and I was charged $388.00 to install a new cartridge in a sink and a new sprayer. I provided the parts. Worked out to just over $300/hr. Now my sink faucet is not properly seated in the counter and it is loose. My other repair to an inline filter required plumber to order part. I had to call for follow up information, if they could get it, when they would be back, etc... Not a great experience and the price was ridiculous

Late on the evening of 30 September it came to my attention that I had a water leak connected to my washer that would not turn off. My house is older so of course this was concerning. I tried calling several plumbers in the area they were all booked until Friday!!! On 1 October I reviewed the ratings for Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, I called & they scheduled me for earlier afternoon. I was fortunate enough to get Ben Masqueller! He was just awesome!!l Ben was polite, professional & efficient. He wore his mask 😷 in accordance w/safety guidelines, introduced himself to me & that put my anxiety at ease. Ben assessed the problem & reviewed w/me the 3 possible outcomes & potential cost. He fixed the problem & was finished in less than 45 minutes. The total cost was reasonable. Should I have a need for a plumber again I will definitely use this company (Benjamin Franklin) & I will ask specifically for Ben

This is the second time I've used Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, and I asked for Chris specifically this time since he did such a great job on the first issue. Called for emergency service and was told $289 dispatch fee, credit card number please. Four hours and three phone calls later no one ever showed up. At 3 am I gave up and told them to not charge me for their no show dispatch. Could have had someone else fixing the problem while they wasted my time.

The pricing is 2X ($6000 for a 1/2” gas line for a grill!) the other 3 quotes I received for the same work! The owner would not let me dig my own trench to save on cost...( I’m a civil engineer and have previously called 811 to properly mark and confirm that no obstructions were near the trench location). This companie’s pricing is predatory! Will NEVER recommend! I also had to pay them $60 just to come out and give me this ridiculous quote!p

Everyone (from the person who answered my call to Ben (the plumber they sent out) all of my interactions with each of them was professional and they seemed to really care about my problem. I came hone Friday night to a swampy front yard. Had to turn all the water off and Ben Franklin originally thought they couldn’t get to me until after 5 Saturday night But I got a call on Saturday morning and the girl said they were working me in sooner since I had no water and they got here before 1:00. Ben was honest and kind and he and his co-worker went right to work and were done within an hour. I’m so happy! And during a time when I have found people aren’t as friendly as they once were- does not hold true here. Sooo friendly and a great job!! Thank you!! I’ll be a customer for life.

Jeff did a very professional job resetting a toilet, reconnecting a stove gas line and reconnecting a refrigerator water line. We elected not to replace a faucet due to $390 labor estimate for installation.

I had installed flush valve on toilet. When putting it back together, the feed line to the bottom of toilet leaked. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, and they were able to come out the next day (not a crisis). Ryan found the source of the problem very quickly and repaired it. He charged a reasonable price for his efforts.

The water heater quit heating at my mom's house. I went over to check the pilot light and it was out and would not light. The unit is only 2 years old and apparently has a faulty gas valve that Rheem is covering under warranty. (you do have to pay labor to have it swapped out)Benjamin Franklin Plumping quoted my mom $1,476 to FIX the gas valve.The entire 50 gal water heater didn't cost this much to have installed, TWO YEARS AGO!!! They were clearly taking advantage of an 80+ year old woman. Oh, and that $1476 included the Senior Discount they offered her. She told them no thank you to the job!This is ridiculous! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!

Everything was great until the quote came in-- ridiculous pricing.The service tech gave a quick look at the problem, pulled out his price-matrix sheet and robotically quoted me $1,100 for the repair. When I said that that was too much for a connector replacement, he replied We are a premium service.Well, Ben Franklin just premiumed itself out of a job. I paid the man the $59 home visit fee (he was there for less than 10 minutes) and he left.I had the repair completed by Ajax for $305.Ben Franklin may be good for after-hour emergencies, but their pricing is ridiculous.

We used Benjamin Franklin to clear a main line clog over the weekend. They were quick to respond, the pricing is competitive (around $175), and the technician (Juan) was very professional and did an excellent job. Chuck Smith and his associate with Benjamin Franklin were able to come out within an hour of me calling for a bathtub faucet that wouldn't shut off. They arrived quickly, sooner than expected, and quickly repaired the faucet. Not only were they helpful, they were both very friendly and professional. They saved me money and time--and likely saved me from a massive water bill! I would call them again in a heartbeat!

He unclogged both toilets in the house and checked the line to the city service. He advised that we should begin thinking about a new sewer line and prepared a quote.

Ended up needing a new toilet which hurt but they had it delivered and installed relatively quickly. Very polite and courteous plumbers. Only issue I had and may have been my fault but the price they quoted me for the replacement didn't include the house call charge and I thought it did, so it was a bit higher than I expected. Overall satisfied.

$650 for replacing two $5 washing machine valves - total of 20 minutes service. They said the valves were 298 on the phone- I assumed he meant $2.98 because the valve cost $5 at Lowes - I was wrong - it was $298 for a $5 valve. The charged $79 time for trip charge so they were already covering their overhead cost. If you want to give away a $650 for $10 in parts and 20 minutes of service - use them. I won't use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again.

Easy to deal with on the phone, they scheduled the appointment quickly, and called as soon as the plumber was on the way. Chuck was quick and helpful in offering options, giving us a good price quote, and finishing the repair in a timely manner.

Wanted to charge us almost $2,000 to replace a shower valve. Got a second opinion and they said they can fix it for $200. I thought it would be best to call a big company because they would be more trustworthy, boy was I wrong! I think they thought because I was a woman home alone that I am stupid, they just lost my business and hopefully a lot of other people's after this review.

We had someone come to our house Wednesday evening, 2/7/18, since our upstairs toilet was leaking and it had soaked through the sheetrock and our garage ceiling onto the garage floor. Our Technician came and was a nice young man who seemed to know what he was doing. I had shut off the water valve and drained the toilet prior to his arrival. He surmised the situation fairly quickly and determined the toilet had to be re-set on a new wax ring. I explained that we had just changed the fill valve and flush valve the previous Saturday and felt it had to be one of those since we had never seen a toilet that had to be re-set in all our years. That was too coincidental. He was adamant he felt it was the toilet that had to be re-set. I told him that the water line also had a slow drip leak and asked if that could cause a leak. He said he did not think so but possibly so he should replace that too. I told him he was the expert so go ahead. He did the work very well and I was charged $759.00. The toilet did not appear to leak and he left. (I wish we and/or he would have checked the fill valve)Friday, 2/9/18 when I got home from work, I noticed the water leaking through the ceiling again. I went upstairs and took the top off the toilet. The water was overflowing over the top of the toilet due to a small drip leak on the new fill valve we just put in. We called Benjamin Franklin to see if they would send someone out to replace it and check everything out again. They said for a $189.00 after hours fee to which my husband asked for the owner or Manager. The Supervisor on duty put him on hold and came back and said his Manager would call me at 6:30PM as she was out with her family. I said that would be fine. Nobody ever called as of 12:52PM on the 10th. My husband went to Home Depot, bought a fill valve and replaced it himself. This corrected the issue. We will never do business with Benjamin Franklin again.

I had an issue with puddling under my HVAC and Benjamin Franklin only offered to dig under the unit, change the pipe and re-do the concrete. I had another company take a look at the same issue and they fixed it by just snaking the pipe under the HVAC unit. Benjamin Franklin came twice to see it and never offered anything other than to dig etc and quoted $9,000 vrs $215 which it cost me to actually get this fixed. You should have your team try to fix the simple solutions always as a first priority option. Instead I feel you always try to find the most expensive option and see if the customers go for it.

Called to fix a leak I found in the line from water meter to sprinkler valve for my 80 yard old mom, a leak within a 6' distance. Technician preceded to measure entire length from street to house and quote for $1K before doing any work. Told him to go rip off someone else. Was able to get a smaller shop out the next day and fix the leak at a T joint a foot from the sprinkler box for literally half the price. Hope the $59 fee was worth it, will not get another dime from my family.

We noticed a severe drop in water pressure from our kitchen faucet right before a big winter freeze, so we figured finding a plumber in a timely manner was going to be difficult. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing came through in a big way. They were able to come within a couple of days (much better than the week wait every where else) and were following COVID protocols. The communication from scheduling to payment was on point.Robert was our plumber and was extremely understanding and accommodating with our strict N95 mask policy (which we provided) due to our high-risk household. He came in, assessed the problem and found that both valves were old and leaking. I also asked if he could replace our faucet while he was there which he was happy to do. He provided about a 2 hour ETA for completion. We had our valves replaced and faucet installed quickly, provided photos of the damage, kept the box on hand of the new faucet so we could record any needed info, and was on his way in about an hour.Received all receipts and documentation electronically and within the hour of Robert leaving. The service was quick, we were well informed, and treated courteously. I'm very grateful my mother recommended them and I will definitely use them again if needed (knock on wood!)

Used Ben Franklin last year and was pleased with the services. Used them again this past week and will NEVER use them again. I believe I was misled with the pricing and when I complained the Supervisor refused to do anything, not even a token offer to give me a $100 or $200 additional discount. They clearly are not customer-experience focused nor do they care about client satisfaction. Plumber came out and told me that the work would take most of the day, so my water would be off pretty much all day. Gave me a price of $2200. I asked if they do a military/first responder discount and they gave me a 10% discount taking it down to $1985. I did some quick math in my head, 2 techs, $100/hour for each, 8 hours work, equals about $1600 plus 3 ball valves with markup - maybe $100-$150. Then add on the $60 service fee, an additional fee of $100 for overhead/management; $1985 doesn't seem out of the ballpark for an all-day job. This was a Friday and they said they could come back Monday to do the work and would I like to pre-pay (never again), and I said sure, since I wasn't sure if I might be on conference calls when they wrapped up. They showed up on Monday around 9am and were done by 11:30. 2.5 hours!! The work was done fine and I was happy with the finished product, but I feel like I was misled and taken advantage of by him telling me it was going to be an all-day job. If he had quoted me the final price of $1985 and told me it was a 2-3 hour job, I definitely would have gotten other quotes. I called them afterwards to complain that I was misled and overcharged for a 2-3 hour job. After a lengthy conversation with Supervisor, David, he basically told me there was nothing he could do. NO COMMITMENT to Client Satisfaction, no desire to try to resolve the issue, no offer of even a token $100 or $200 off. Unless you want to be misled and price-gouged, take your plumbing business to someone else because BF doesn't care about client-sat, just the almighty dollar.

I had service done in my master bath room due to a leak. Because I was replacing the vanity, the plumber put caps on the pipes. Come to find out later that these are not the type of caps you can just pull off, you need a special tool. Luckily I found the tool at Ace Hardware for $2 after spending nearly a half hour stuck on the phone with their call center who refused to give me the contact information an actual plumber and said the only way any one would come take those off would be if I paid a $60 visit fee and the cost for whatever labor. Seems pretty shady to put something on that I can't remove without paying them to get it off again.

A hot water pipe was leaking under the foundation of my house. Jack Nester was the plumber who found the leak and repaired it quickly. They did this all before the bad weather came, which helped a lot. They had to dig under the house, and even that was a good process. They repaired the pipe, filled in the hole in my yard, cleaned up and did a great job on all of it.Jack is a very knowledgeable, experienced plumber. He explained the problem and gave me an estimate that was very accurate. I called on Saturday, expecting to wait until mid-week for an appointment.Received an appointment scheduled for Monday between 10:00 and 12:00. Received a call at 9:00 Monday asking if we could start early. Bottom line, Don arrived before scheduled and completed the work before the scheduled time.All of this at a fair price. Glad I called Benjamin Franklin and really appreciate the work Don provided.

Is there a half star for these crooks. $350 to replace under sink tubing that has $20 in material. Tech came out to the house without material. Took a total of four hours to do a 1 hour job. I will give him credit on doing a decent looking job, but with 4 hours I could train a monkey to look up enough YouTube videos to make 3 feet of piping happen. Sink doesn't even have garbage disposal . Very disappointed. Will never ever recommend or use again. As a man I would've never let this happen but I guess since they saw my wife alone with a child they took advantage.

I was able to further check in the wall thru an access hole that I made before Donald arrived. It was not a slab leak but a leaky pipe running along a wood stud. Donald confirmed that my leak was coming from the wall behind my water heater closet. He gave options on the quote that was economical for my pocket book. I will try to attempt to fix it myself but will call Donald if it’s over my capability.

These guys came out when they said they would, much quicker than the local guys that I have used in the past. The tech Matt was a nice guy. He got my drain cleared and gave me an assessment on the cause of the issue. All for a reasonable price. I have used Benjamin Franklin plumbing before and based on my experience with them they will now be my go to plumbers. I highly recommend them.

Ben and his partner were great! They quickly assessed the issue with my tankless water heater and repaired it. They also shared that due to the age of my water heater, a future repair or replacement may be needed, so I can be looking at my options and pricing things in advance.

Call them 8/13 @ 4:30pm. Make an appointment for 8/14 @ 8:00am. Was told it was the first appointment of the day with arrival time of 8am. If they were late they were supposed to pay you (discount) $5 per minute up to $300. They came 8/14 @ 8:29am. Estimate to replace a shut off valve was $1600 or $1300 to stop the leak. OUTRAGEOUS. I declined and they wanted to charge me the calling fee of $59 because the service window was between 8am and 10am. If they can show up anytime between a 2 hr window why they advertise themselves as the PUNCTUAL PLUMBERS!!! and even have a $5 per minute pay off policy???? I was never told about a service window.I had to remind them their late policy in order to get the call charge waived.BEWARE and ask questions before you book them. My estimate was not detailed.UPDATE: Do call WATERMANS PLUMBING. They came in a timely manner and explained everything to me. They fix the same problem for only $ 339. See attached picture of my bank statement for prove.I feel Benjamin Frankling Plumbing tried to rip me off. Please review your business practice.

Ben Franklin plumbing technician Todd D. came out last night to investigate why we had water backing up from both of our toilets. He arrived exactly 30 mins after he called us and told us he would be here, and then immediately recognized the problem. He was able to quickly identify that we had a break in our main pipeline, and what the next steps were to getting it fixed. He also personally called the water repair specialists to come out that evening (it was already around 10 pm at this point) to make sure that the areas of damage were quickly identified and that we would have no problems when making our insurance claim. I highly recommend this service for their promptness and professionalism.

This company called ahead to give me at ETA and ID info of the tech Juan Morales before his arrival. He came exactly on time and wore a mask during the entire job. His assignment was to repair a long-standing problem (no pun intended), replacing a 6-foot section of a stopped up/slow draining pipe inside a kitchen wall... a pretty big job. The repair was pricey, but the drain works well enough now, but I happy with the work and would invite this company back again. ;-)

I used them to service my Gas Fireplace. The day of the appointment they called me and offered to come early if I was available, which was great. They were courteous and did the job well. The technician went up to attic to inspect my gas water heater, which is getting up to the age of replacement. I will most likely use them to replace my water heater in next few months.

Tony does not cut corners and made sure everything was up to code. I felt the quality of the installation was top notch. I was very pleased with the install and customer service rep Brett D. had Tony out within the hour of my call. They are very well qualified to do the job and I would highly recommend them.

I called and received timely, same-day, service. The personnel who replaced our leaking toilet were all professional and friendly and took the time to explain our issue and different solutions (at different cost points). I will definitely call them again if we have any future plumbing problems, although hope we don't!

Just moved into a new house which had a couple issues. They were on-time, professional, and knew exactly what needed to be done. I am getting all of my issues fixed within 24 hours.

They came out on Labor Day to check on a water heater that was not working, which I appreciate, although they charged several hundred dollars for a service visit and did not actually repair anything. They then did not honor a coupon that their answering service said they would honor. They also quoted costs to replace the water heater that were 2x more than I got from other plumbers. Double check their price quotes.

They installed our tankless water heater in 2013. We called them out to look at it when we lost hot water. Technician didn't even lay hands on the unit. All he did was climb to the top of the attic ladder, looked at it from a distance and then said they don't wervice our model since it is discontinued and parts aren't available. He the proceeded to tell us we needed a new unit at a cost of nearly $8,000.We called another plumber for a second opinion. There is nothing wrong with the unit. The drip pan filled up due to a clog and condensation from the AC units, because a proper upgrade was not done when Ben Franklin installed the tankless heater. For only $75, the new plumber drained the pan, reset the water heater, and we now have hot water again.

Had a pipe issue after the 2021 Snowmageddon and was without hot water for two weeks. Corey showed up and fixed the issue, restarted the hot water heater and made sure stuff was working before he left. One of the many reasons we continue to use Ben Franklin Plumbing.

After years of maintaining a problem drain, we hired Benjamin Franklin to fix it for good. Unfortunately, because of the slab foundation, the drain was not easy to access, and repair involved digging a huge hole to access it. The technicians were professional from start to finish: on time, if not early, laid out the timeline, and set expectations up front. They were very communicative with updates along the way, and they fixed the problem. When the hole was refilled, they even replaced the sod that had been on top. We highly recommend Benjamin Franklin.

Mr. Gentry was on time, actually early. Performed a inspection of the water heater; determined it’s age and provided good information about the tank. When I described our shower he indicated there could be a problem with the cartridge which could be an added factor I was not aware of. He was knowledgeable and thorough. He did an excellent job and inspection. His information will be of great value in our future decisions on the hot water heater.

Water heater failed in the morning, James arrived earlier than scheduled and a new water heater was installed the same day!! Efficient, courteous, thorough, answered all my questions and left the work area tidy. Very happy with the employee and company!

I have worked with this company multiple times with plumbing projects in our home, toilet replacements, HWH maintenance, etc., and I will say they do an amazing job. They are a bit more expensive than random plumbers but the quality of the work and the guarantee they put behind it is worth every penny. Quick and quality!

Chris was super helpful in figuring out our kitchen sink problem after we had 4 other plumbing companies come by who did not resolve our problem. Chris sent Cory to our home and he fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. We will be using them again and hope Ben Franklin will become our go to plumbing company.

Appalling Price. Double the price than two other companies. Wanted 3200.00 for a hot water heater. Got a quote from two other companies for 1400.00. What a joke, DO NOT ever hire this company.

We had a hot water leak under the slab of our house. The job required a tunnel dig and 3 feet of copper pipe replaced. The work done, from the excavation to the repair was all top quality. The plumber (Arthur) was very informative and gave me several options of how the work could be done. We were lucky in that he was able to complete the repair without having to go through either walls or foundation. I can't really make a comparison in terms of price as they were the only plumbers I had look at it (although I did later talk to a friend that had a similar repair done several years ago and he paid about $3k more than I did, but that could have required a larger tunnel) but Im very happy with the work that was done and will use them again. I also appreciated the technology they use to let you know they are on their way and even let you track the service person coming so I knew exactly when they were showing up.

Right after my review posting regarding the pricing for the work needed, I was immediately contacted by Tony, the service manager, at around 10PM. He asked what was going on and was genuinely concerned with my dissatisfaction. After I explained my situation, he provided some knowledgeable information regarding the pricing and the need for flat rates. In addition to the previous information, he made it a point to let me know that his company is top notch and has very experienced plumbers. After about 30 minutes, he agreed to make things right and had Tony come back the next day and take care of my issue for a very reasonable fee. I have to make sure that everyone knows that Tony, my plumber, was very courteous, polite and quick. I was very satisfied with his work and demeanor. Ben Franklin should be proud to have an employee like him. Thanks Ben Franklin!
