I called ALD and they quickly got me scheduled for my service. Great communication before my Leak Specialist arrived. Kyle Norton was very knowledgeable in diagnosing my issue and then doing multiple test to pinpoint the area of the leak. He gave me recommendations and options on how to complete the process of getting my leak fixed.I feel much better now and I know they will do a great job in completing the repair of my foundation water leak.
Dean and Travis were very friendly and just as important did an excellent job in less than a day Ken did our leak detection and was very focused and diligent in his search for and finding the leak.

Chase, our technician at American Leak Detection, did a great job. He located a leak that another company was unable to find and provided the least intrusive option for getting the leak fixed. He fixed it quickly and correctly the first time. Great job!

Kyle Norton was the best! Professional, through, and determined. He ruled out all possibilities by testing the systems, not guessing. After ruling out any major concerns, he asked permission to access through the water damaged cabinet floor to positively locate our leak! Slab leak repair was made but it took 17 days to finish the job. I had to do all of the checking in and follow ups to get this job across the finish line.
We had hot water pipes leak twice under foundation this year!

After receiving astronomical estimates from other plumbers, American Leak Detection was recommended. Their estimates for repair were far more in keeping with the local market rates.
American Leak Detection identified, documented and presented the Problems as well as multiple solutions w different price ranges in a colored report with actual pictures of the problem. Each Solution Option detailed steps necessary to resolve the problem along with associated costs.
Once the job was done, testing completed and signed off on, a summary report was provided along w the warranty, documenting the work in it's multiple phases… we have used AMERICAN LEAK DETECTORS for four separate leaks now. Each time we were pleased with the professionalism and knowledge of both their onsite and administrative personnel.. There is no other company to call when you have a pool plumbing problem.

ALD was able to quickly identify our leak problem and gave us several options for repair with their opinion on which would be the best option and the reasons why. In our case, it was the least expensive. When they returned to repair the leak, they were efficient in their repair and respectful of our house. I would highly recommend this company if you think you might have a slab leak.

They were very friendly and persistent in finding the pool leak. They were also very professional in repairing the leak. Once they fixed the leak, they pressure tested the line and found another leak. The technician stayed all day to resolve the leaks found. Although the plumbing issue started small, it quickly grew into a large project. Working with American Leak Detection of Dallas was always pleasant, no matter who I spoke to - everyone was kind and courteous.
Elvis was our main point of contact. He is always calm and willing to take the time to reassure you. The team shows up on time, leaves at 5 pm, and always keeps you informed.
Our project was under the house. It rained every week, but they kept working. They started the project in late December of early January and finished by the end of January. It was cold and wet, but not once did I hear anyone complain. This crew is incredibly professional. I cannot express how much confidence I have in this company.
Would I hire them again? I hope I never need to, but if I do, they would be the first company I would call. No doubt!!

American Leak Detection did an outstanding job on our slab leak. The technician we used was Chris Martin. His work ethic is one that you don't see everyday. He did an awesome job and didn't leave until it was done right. He didn't cut corners on anything. We were completely impressed with him. It's because of Chris that I am leaving a 5 star review. He was great! Also, the people in the office were outstanding as well. We worked with Denise Hawkins due to an insurance claim. She was extremely helpful in handling all the paperwork, etc. Overall, our experience was great!
Conducted camera inspection of complete sewer system. Found and documented 4 separate breaks and blockages. Tunneled over 60' under slab, replaced damaged pipes, re-tested system, had system inspected and replaced and refilled tunnels. Job was done completely in 8 days with very little disruption to occupants. Upon completion, it was hard to even tell that they had been there! I highly recommend this company.

After locating a small leak American Leak Detection followed up at my request with a repair crew. They arrived promptly as scheduled, dug through the floor into the foundation, located the leak and made the repairs in a highly professional manner. Both of the team members were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. They made the repairs as quickly as possible, minimizing any disruption in out daily routine and left the area clean and ready for me to serve replacement tile. Great job guys.
The technician took my money but did not find any leak water source and still left us with the water leakage problem as it was before their service...
But he told me that we have to pay the company again for them to come out to do a so called “origin analysis” for more fees. I wonder why he cannot do the analysis at the first place?
I do not think this company did a decent job to locate the water leakage...for us, at least.

We used ALD several months ago for our pool. The guy found one leak, and he was convinced it was the only one. I called to voice my concerns that I’m still losing water. I was told I would need to pay for another call. So I did some searching on my own and I’ve found 2 more! I don’t think a 33% success rate is worth what I paid. My issue is that I’m not convinced that the person who comes will provide the due diligence to actually find any remaining leaks.
I’m still losing water, and working on it myself.
The guy also smoked the whole time. Even while in my pool! I saw him dip his lit cigarette in the pool to put it out! Not professional!

From detecting the leak to the repair work complete, everything was done in a timely and professional manner with texts confirming names and arrival times. The quotation, after detection, was quickly sent with 3 options for repair with the highest comparing favorably to other plumbing services. Part of my wood laminate floor had to be removed and it was done so carefully, we were able to have those pieces put back down.

I've used American Leak Detection a couple of times. First occasion was to look for an issue in the outside of house for a potential leak we were concerned about. Jeromy identified a spot in the sewer line where something was penetrating the pipe. The area was dug up and the sewer line fixed. Everything was put back as best as could be done (the issue was in an area in the garden). The next occasion was soon after where we had another slab leak test after foundation work. Again Jeromy showed up and was quick and efficient with the work. He also patiently took the time to answer all the questions I had about that and other concerns. I feel very confident in the work done and with the expertise of Jeromy. I would definitely recommend American Leak Detection based on my experience.

Justin was American plumber and did both the leak detection and the leak repair. Tunneling was required to access the leak so it was expensive. It was a lot of labor so I understand why. Be careful with this company, I am not sure how experienced their leak detectors are. They were 8 foot off on detecting my leak and because of their lack of competence ended up costing me $2,000 in extra repair work. I cannot get their manager to return my calls and provide a refund. I ended up having to get another leak detection done.

Our Specialist, Javier , was very thorough, informative, and really took the time to explain the whole process to me and my husband.
Hired them to do a leak detection on my pool. They did not perform the scope of work that I requested. I could not get them to come back to complete the work. They demanded 100% payment before they sent me the report which was worthless and inconclusive.
Great service quick turnaround
Cody, the Leak Specialist, did a magnificent job detecting and fixing our leaks. He spend enough time underwater in our spa and pool, successfully, trying to find the leaks. Once this was done, he gave us our options and pricing.
I will ask for Cody if I need ALDD services again (hopefully in many years from today).

This is the 2nd time I've used American Leak Detection of Dallas (ALD), and again, I'm very happy with the service received. My technician, Jeromy McDevitt, went out of his way to work with me, after I briefed him on what I had found already-Jeromy is extremely professional, courteous, and does a great job with customer education. The fact that he took the time to read up on ALD's previous visit to my home was a clear indicator of what a professional he is. Unfortunately, his visit this time is being broken up over two days, but he resolved the most immediate issue (leak in the kitchen) and we will deal with the leak in my yard tomorrow.
I can honestly say, after dealing with numerous tradesmen at my home over the last year and a half, Jeromy is easily the best tech I've had at my home. He is truly an asset to ALD, and I know if I need to use their services in the future, I'll be getting the same great service I've received twice now! I highly recommend ALD!
I am not too happy with the service I got from American Leak Detection. In my opinion they charge a premium price and I expect premium service in return. I paid $1400 to have a single line leak detected and repaired. The fix was in a very accessible place about 1 foot down so I don't think it's a very good value. Here are my complaints:
1. They cancelled the morning of the appointment twice after waiting over a week for each appointment.
2. They have different crews for everything. They use an outside company to dig the hole which has to be scheduled separately from the actual plumbing repair. The whole process from calling for an appointment to actually getting the line fixed to finally getting the dirt put back takes like a month.
3. I actually did like the guy that did the leak detection and repair but for the repair he put in 4 - 90 degree elbows when there was a straight line there before. See the attached pictures. It seemed like the way a homeowner would fix it and not a professional. This is a pool suction line for a pump running an infinity edge and I don't think adding 4 elbows is good for the water flow.
In the end, the line is fixed but feel I could find another company to do it for less money or with less issues for the same price.
Update- I got a call from their manager and he listened to my story but that's it. Nothing changed about my experience.

I can not say enough about this company. A friend referred them to me to find a leak in my pool. It turned out to be the old skimmer. From the beginning they were very courteous and friendly. When Cody came out he was very helpful, didn't mind me asking questions and he explained everything to me. On the day of the work he was on time, efficient and was very meticulous with his work. After the second day, him and Bo made sure everything was clean and just like it was before. My skimmer isn't leaking anymore and the price was very affordable. This is an awesome company from start to finish.

We were very impressed with Brad and American Leak Detection. Brad thoroughly inspected the pool, inside and out even when the water was 65 degrees. He identified the issue on his first visit, then we were able to get scheduled relatively quickly for the repair. On the repair, he found the leak under our pool decking, dug down to it, repaired the pipe, and then filled and patched the pool decking. We hope our pool leak days are done, but we know who we will call if we need assistance with leak detection! Thanks Brad!

I have been fighting a spa leak for nearly 2 years (it was small), and went through 3 different companies before I contacted American Leak
While they were by far not the cheapest or the quickest to get an appointment, they are certainly the best
The leak was quickly pin pointed on the first visit and fixed a month later on the second.
Again, while not cheap, I would have ended up saving 3-4x what I spent if I had only called them first. Other companies were trowing fixes at the problem, while each time costing me more money. I would have saved myself a lot of grief, and would have enjoyed the spa this past summer
Technician arrived right on time, explained the process that he was going to take, and was exceptionally professional. There were absolutely no surprises
I would call them first if there is a next time (I hope not!)

We had put an offer on a house. American Leak Detection knew this was time sensitive and we needed the report quickly. They came out to the house for a sewage pressure test. The technician was late and the report was not made available until nearly 5 days after the technician came out. Throughout the entire process they were aware we needed the report by Saturday, but we didn't have the option to see the report until the following Tuesday. By the time the report was available it was useless.
If they couldn't deliver in a the time agreed to prior to the service, they should not have taken our business.
The person who did the leak detention was helpful. He offered to follow up the next week with a bucket test, which is a part of the service - and never showed up! Hmm.
We had a water leak from the pipe under the foundation and had a very very bad experience scheduling a fix for the repair with the office staff. I was willing to pay up-front and The repair was pre-approved confirmed by my Insurance to me and to them with Employee-A and still Employee-B, C were not ready to schedule saying they are still waiting an approval from the Insurance.

Fantastic communication and a dedication to find the hidden leaks in my pool. When one technician had trouble locating the leaks, he had his supervisors come to double check for no additional charge. Both technicians had a great attitude and seemed eager to find the issue. Their office was quick to answer the phone and very responsive. American Leak Detection is basically having to redo previous work done by another company for the same leak! I wish I would have just called them from the beginning. Don’t waste your time researching different leak detection companies out in the metroplex. Go with the most recognized and trusted. Tony - pool specialist was able to quickly diagnose the problem and offer a solution. Extremely knowledgeable, polite, and responsive. Price is competitive and fair. So far I feel great about my decision to trust ALD. More later when my pool is fixed. On a side note this is officially my 4th leak detection in 6 years... hopefully my last.

Had a really great experience with American Leak Detection. The technician, Justin, and his apprentice were both very professional, nice, and detected my issue very fast. ETAs and text messages were provided which was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
We had a slab leak under our water heater in the garage that occurred around Thanksgiving and our technician, Dean, was professional, found our leak quickly, and proposed two reasonably priced options to repair the leak. We went with American Leak Detection to fix the slab leak. They removed the water heater, gained access to the faulty pipe, replaced the pipe, and put the water heater back while ensuring that everything was cleaned up/working accordingly. The leak is no more and Dean and his team did a fantastic job. I will go with American Leak Detection for any future plumbing issues!

These guys are the real deal. I've been chasing a leak between house and meter for a year (400', unknown line location) and used different companies with no success. As so many homes the age of ours, it became necessary to replace all of the old cast iron sewer lines under the foundation.
Had heard of many exasperating stories and experiences from friend and others about timelines, inconvenience and cost when having this kind of work done.
Happy to say, this was not at all the case with American Leak Detection!
My technician, Marcus Shoemaker, came out and did a very thorough investigation, the report that I received was well documented including video clips.
This made it very easy to work with my insurance company.
During the course of the installation, I received both text and email notifications on arrival times and work to be done.
Both Marcus and the company that excavated and tunneled under the home were cordial, efficient, cleaned up thoroughly every day, with little interruption to our daily life.
The project was executed in just over a week, and when done my place look as though they had never been here, amazing considering the amount of soil excavated, they protected my pool from any spoils and we were even able to swim in the pool during this process!
I again received a thorough final report from Marcus after the plumbing had been repaired which allowed me to get further coverage from my insurance company!
I will recommend to everyone, don’t go anywhere else, use American Leak Detection!

After much digging looking for an irrigation line leak I gave up and had American Leak Detection come out. The tech was named Ken and he showed up on time(a little early), was very pleasant, got right to work and found the leak in a hour or so. Very pleased with their service. Wish I had called them sooner.

American Leak Detection is a company that no one enjoys working with, simply for the fact that they are going to tell you that you have a leak in your pool. That being said, Trevor was courteous, direct and to the pool. He also took the time to educate on some simple pool knowledge, and s this is the first pool I have ever owned. I feel the price is fair for what it will entail to fix our leak, and would definetly recommend them to a friend.

After several months of plumbing problems ( clogged sewer lines under slab) my regular plumber suggested that we call American Leak Detector. We took their suggestion and called. American Leak Detector response was great. Within 24 hours a technician arrived. Using some very sophisted equipment he identified the problems and showed us videos of where the problems were located. Within 24 hours we received a formal proposal with cost estimates. we accepted their proposal and work was started The technician assigned to the project kept us up to date on progress and the project was completed within the time specified. I was very satisfied with all people involved in the project. I would definitely recommend American Leak Detection for anyone with under slab plumbing problems.

Trevor came to do the test. He is honest. After he asked some questions how much water was lost, he explained it could be due to the natural evaporation. He suggested to me to save money, to do bucket test for $125 instead of full leak test for $425. I told him I did bucket test myself few years ago but I thought it was not accurate since I couldn’t measure it accurately, and to have a peace of mind, I still wanted a full leak test. He did that and the result was no leak detected. But he still offerred doing a bucket test with no extra charge just to have another proof. He came a few days later setting up the bucket test, and came to check it next day. But I forgot to turn off automatic refill, and water was refilled previous night. He is kind enough to reset the bucket test and come the next day. I highly recommend him and the American Leak Detection of Plano! — Jonathan Wang

DID NOT UPHOLD THEIR WARRANTY. We had a leak repaired (tunneled from the outside) and the excavation company was less than mediocre. They did not properly backfill the hole created for the repair and now we have STANDING water and a gaping hole/void space under our foundation.
VERY unhappy with their personnel and not standing by their warranty. KEEP LOOKING!

I am in love with your company. I have never experienced better service in my entire life. I was extremely stressed out about our issue, but once Kyle located the problem and explained the issue I knew we were in good hands. The excavation crew was incredible too. In fact when the city inspected they said they had never seen such an amazing job. The team left our home in better condition when they left than when they got here. They cleaned up the area meticulously. If I ever have a problem again I will only call american leak detection of Dallas. This is how customer service should be!!!!!!

This is the ONLY company we use for leaks in our pool. We have had 3 homes (so 3 pools) over the years and they are always out first call. If there is a wait because they are super busy, we wait, because we trust them and know they will get the job done!
ALD was recommended by the sprinkler repair company to find the location of the sprinkler leak. The appointment was promptly made and the service delivered efficiently, accurately and timely.
We had a leaking return line on our pool. Service tech was very knowledgeable, communicated well, and did what he said he would do. Highly recommend!

BEWARE. This company falsely advertises that they guarantee they will not charge if they don’t find your leak, including on their recording when they place your call on hold. They then insisted on taking my credit card in advance of service, asked me insufficient questions about my leak, and sent the wrong technician who stated he was not trained to diagnose an underground spa pipe leak and that the company would need to send a spa leak technician. When nobody got back to me, I called American Leak and spoke to a manager who informed me that they would not refund the $295 they charged to my credit card for a worthless visit in violation of their own advertised guarantee, and that I’d have to spend an additional $400+ to find out if one of their spa leak technicians could find my leak. I do NOT recommend this company.
We had a sewer line leak fixed by them. And very pleased by both their professionalism and the quality of the work. The front office was very responsive, patient and helpful as we were going through finalizing a loan with the lender.
What I truly amazed was the cleanup job the crew did after the work was done. They left the backyard and patio as it was before. Which is remarkable since there was all the mud from a 30 ft long tunnel under the house.
Also, Dean was very professional and honest in his judgement of the issue and possible solutions.
We had some ridiculous quotes from some other companies.
I would definitely do business with American Leak Detection again , though I hope I don’t have to don’t want any more leaks :)

I had a great experience with American Leak. They explained issues and the process for me and my husband going through our first major plumbing issue in a new home. Travis goes over and above to be polite, informative, and helpful in any way he can be. While I don’t ever hope for more plumbing issues, I know I’m in good hands with American Leak and plan to use them as soon as any other issues arise.
Excellent service from professionals. First call for plumbing issues at my house. Slab leak fixed. Burst pipe from freezing fixed. Always very professional and detailed. Good people!!
Marcus, along with the other gentleman, showed up on time and were very professional. They discovered a leak in a pipe buried in the foundation. They jackhammered through the foundation, made the repair, and refilled the hole in the foundation. We only lost 4 tiles and they kept the dust to a minimum. They did what they said that they were going to do and were in and out within 2.5 hours. I would highly recommend American Leak Detection for their work and professionalism.

After contacting the BBB we received a full refund.
Total rip off!! We called American Leak detection because we had used them in the past for leak detection in a slab foundation and they did well. Their websites says that they do drain clean out and sewer clean out so we called them. We told them that it was a clogged drain. They said they would be out the next day and their flat rate was $695 to clean out the drain. They came out with a camera but nothing to clean out the drain. He found where it is clogged but could not unclog it .. he tried using the camera he brought.
How ridiculous... Any company that claims that they can unclog a drain should have a snake. Not only did he not have one on his truck they don't bother to use them at all. How can you claim that you'll unclog a drain if you don't carry a snake on your truck or at least have access to one?$295 to tell us that we have a clogged drain!! We knew that!! Do not trust them to do the job that they say they can do!!

I had to do a mold remediation which required me to tear down and rebuild my kitchen cabinets and walls (over 10k worth of work). Before doing so, I needed to confirm the leak was fix before construction. American Leak Detection came out and and reported everything looked good so I went ahead with the tear down/rebuild. After months of construction and finally putting EVERYTHING back, I was upset to find that the leak was still there.
I ended up getting another plumber who had to cut a hole on my new cabinets and confirm the source of the leak (an aged copper pipe). Next I will have to re-patch the hole. American Leak Detection did not offer any help, so I am leaving this review.

Walter Reynolds came out and did a great job. He found our leak in less then 30 min. We highly recommend American Leak detection. After spending some time and hearing how he trouble shoot the issue I knew he knew what he was talking about.
American Leak Detection came to the site, thoroughly investigated the conditions and determined the most likely location of the suspected leak. Fortunately for us, they were able to access it from the exterior of the home by excavating back a short distance under the grade beam. ALD secured the necessary city permit and the excavation was accomplished on a Wednesday; the repair crew arrived that Friday, found the source of the leak (a tiny hole in the house main copper water line) and made the repair. The repair passed the city inspection and after that the earthwork crew returned to backfill the excavation. ALD came back after that to verify that the water pressure was satisfactory. All in all, they provided excellent service and we are very satisfied with the result.

Very professional and efficient with the locate and repair of my slab leak.
Contacted American Leak Detection to locate a possible leak in/under the foundation. Justin came out quickly and was able to pinpoint the area of the leak, and explain options to access the area to make necessary repairs. Justin coordinated tunneling under the slab to access the leaks, replaced a section of pipe, and backfilling tunnel once complete. All of the staff working on this project were very knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend that you consider American Leak Detection should you ever have need of these services.

Our insurance agency requested American Leak Detection and I could not be more pleased with their service. They were on time, figured out where the leak was and were we able to schedule the repair. They were responsible for the repair of the slab leak. The excavation crew was neat and didn't leave dirt everywhere. Travis fixed the issue and we have hot water again! I would call them again with any leak issues.
The customer service was above and beyond from everyone I encountered. They made sure that everything was in place and covered with the insurance before doing any work. Also, they kept me up to date on any additional findings and scheduling as it arose. I was given all the options they could perform without any hesitation and allowed to make my own decision. The work was completed with professionalism and rapid response. I will use them again without even going through the insurance company if needed.

American Leak Protection did a great job of confirming my appointment. Chris arrived. Right on time and explained the process. He was very efficient in finding our leak and explained our options in an understandable way. I’m very thankful for their service.
American Leak Detection (ALD)- Leak detection appt. was within a day of contacting them. Quickly and accurately identified a slab leak. ALD provided multiple options for repair based on access and pricing.
Scheduled the repair, which was estimated to take 1 to 2 days. The only concern was scheduling the repair was a week out. However, it was a hot water leak and did not require the water be turned off so it was a minor inconvenience. Arrived on time about 9am, worked quickly. They minimized the access sites to reduce post-repair renovation costs. They even ran into one issue that was quickly resolved and fixed. Completed the repair by around 4pm so about 7 hours from start to finish, actually 6 with a lunch break.
Cleanup well done. The required inspection set up within 2 days. Excellent experience. I would highly recommend American Leak Detection!

The repairmen were fine & work was excellent. The office staff was polite & helpful to a degree. However, the billing with the insurance company was not acceptable. The Ins co sent ALD to us to do the work but they could not communicate with each other and get bills paid. I had to pay for everything and then get reimbursed. I’ve never had to do that with any company referred by an ins company. I’m unsure whose fault it was, the ins co or ALD. Had the billing been done correctly, I would have given a 5 star rating.

Mediocre customer service, below average technical ability.
Hired them to check for a leak in the pool. They stuck this device in for like 7 minutes and left saying I didn't have water loss. Had to argue with them for a while until they finally came back out. Finally found an issue with both skimmer faces, then wanted $900 to fix it. Search around a little more because another expert fixed both skimmer faces for $300.
Great job locating my under slab sewer leaks. I had 2 under slab sewer leaks in different spots in the house. I did my own repairs after the leaks were located and found that the locations were spot on.
Had leak under slab due to foundation shifting. Called ALD to perform repairs. They found two leaks and tunneled under the slab rather than drilling through the floor inside the house. Chris and his crew worked diligently to find and repair the leaks. They are highly skilled and professional.

Elvis Castellanos with American Leak Detection of Dallas replaced a broken cleanout and tested for leaks. (No leaks - good news!) He had to remove two shrubs to access the pipe. One was dead from the February freeze, so no loss. I was really stunned to go out and see that he had replanted the other shrub. This was not expected, but truly appreciated. Other than the missing bush, you would never know they had dug a huge hole in the flowerbed. I was very pleased and impressed with the attention to detail. Thank you!

I knew going in that this company was very popular and booked well in advance. So I had no problem waiting 6 weeks for them to come out and fix 2 leaking skimmers. What I did not expect was for them to cause 2 brand new leaks (both Jandy valves) before the were done. /in the initial inspection, the tech even said all the pool equipment and valves were working fine. However, I left them to their tasks, they then disassembled the Jandy vavles to inspect them further anyway. Not only did they not tell me the valves were now leaking when the were done, but 3 weeks of phone calls and text messages to them went unanswered. I am now fixing the Jandy valves myself instead of continuing to chase them further.
It was great you fixed the original leak --it was not cool that you left me with 2 new ones (and ignore my attempts to contact you). If not for that, you probably would have received 5 stars.

The entire staff was so friendly and efficient, from scheduling to work on our home. They made the entire process of finding and fixing our leak (which can be very frustrating for a homeowner) easier to deal with for me.

I would recommend them if you have lots of money :)
They did amazing work, but it was super expensive! We had a 40 foot supply line replaced for a total cost of $4,148 (not including the $295 to locate leak). That included $1,755 for trenching and and backfill, an *additional* $455 *each* for the access pits at each end (that were basically done as part of the trenching), and $470 for city inspection, among other line items. The trenching crew put in a total of about 11 man hours, and the plumber about 4 hours. So obviously overhead is by far the biggest portion of the bill!
On the positive side, the trenching crew did excellent work, cutting out sod squares and putting those along with removed dirt on plastic sheeting. Five sprinkler pipes and our Internet cable ran across where they needed to trench, and they only accidentally damaged one sprinkler pipe, which they repaired before leaving! They put yellow caution tape around everything, and pieces of plywood to cover parts of the trench close to the sidewalk and our walkway. They put everything back together beautifully.
Javier, the plumber, was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, great attitude, willing to explain things. The office would text when he was on his way, saying Javier, your American Leak Detection specialist, is on his way...When he arrives, be prepared for efficient service with a smile! And that is exactly what we got! (Another technician who came for the leak detection, not so much...)

They spent about an hour investigating the issue we reported. They reported what they thought was the problem. It seemed logical and acceptable.

Called American Leak Detection as we had a hot spot on our floor in the kitchen. They had a cancellation, so they were out the same day, ran the test and found the leak (there is a charge for this). The Tech sent me a quote for two different options, after reviewing verbally with me what he found and what he felt were the best two choices. We accepted the quote and got on their schedule.
Work was delayed a bit because of the rain, but once started, it was done in no time. They showed us the leak (via text and only one thankfully) and fixed it. Came out a week later for final inspection to ensure no more leaks. Price was as quoted; work was complete successfully. That is all I wanted and that is exactly what I got. Five stars and if I have another issue like this (hopefully not), I would call again with no hesitation.

Made an appointment for leak detection which was confirmed by text message in the days leading up to the appointment. I took the day off to be there. When they did not show up I called back and was told that the technician was sick. It is a big deal for me to take a day off and schedule this in. I am now resetting the appointment for next week with one of their competitors (Legacy Plumbing), who I expect to actually show up.
I know that may expectations may be high, but I am a business owner who has clients who make appointments to be seen by me (Optometrist) and I have missed 15 unscheduled work days over the prior 35 years of seeing patients. I expect a similar level of motivation and professionalism from the people we work with (though I know , as an employer, this somehow never happens with paid employees).

Paid $300 to be told I don't have a leak but the $300 doesn't include any effort to actually fix the problem. So now I have to call a plumber to fix the problem. Strange considering their work vans advertise that they are plumbers. Do yourself a favor and call a plumber who can do leak detection and fix your plumbing problem at the same time. American Leak Detection just ripped me off as far as I'm concerned.
I've already written one review that addressed to how rude and incommunicative the ALD tech who came to our home was, and how sloppy and slow the follow up to our overpriced leak detection played out. After submitting my complaint to ALD via email, a representative phoned me. After telling him what had happened (our leak was set to be repaired 10 days post diagnosis and the next day our kitchen floor buckled under the water pressure - we had to have an emergency crew out on a Saturday to fix what ALD should have told us was emergent). The gentleman who called me back said we are very busy and everyone thinks their leak is more important the next person's. This is a LEAK DETECTION COMPANY. This would be like your Dr. telling you everyone thinks their heart attack is worse than the next guys. He then told me he would speak with the owner but believed we would get our money back. Two days later I get an email (he didn't even have the guts to call me) that they wouldn't be returning it as the owner felt he'd upheld his end of the deal. Run from this company. A house leak IS an emergency and they offer nothing in terms of prompt response. Their leak detection is also triple the price of EVERY other company I phoned and they did exactly the same thing. Actually, the company who did the repair was more thorough because they told the time to talk with me about the issue and how best to remedy it. ALD never did that. Worse company I've dealt with in the DFW area. They portray themselves as specialists and yet now that I've been through this I've been told (by every plumber I spoke to) that this can be dealt with by any plumbing company. Learn from our mistake.

On the 6th they call and accuse us of not payythem and arguing with me when I told them we had paid. Only to find out a few hours later the plumber did in fact have our payment. Horrible company!

We used an American Leak Detection of Dallas professional to check for a pool leak and a different professional plumber to evaluate the foundation for a leak. We were satisfied that they provided expert evaluation and information to us for these important home areas.
Javier did a leak detection for me. Yes he was the bearer of bad news but I'm not going to kill the messenger. He did a very thorough job. He was extremely courteous and took the time to educate me on the situation and explained in detail all the options. I also worked in detail with Denise, Melissa, and Tanyea in the office. All of these ladies also took the time to listen to my concerns and help with all of my needs under a time crunch that I was faced with. This process was about as simple and seamless as one could hope for. During the scheduling I was given a date that was confirmed with a 2 hour window the day before that date. I was notified by text message that Chase was on the way within that window and he arrived about 15-20 min later. Chase was clean, professional and courteous. We took him to the area where the water was being observed and he quickly diagnosed the suspected origin to be a leaky gasket in our shower. He followed up with a pressure test that further supported his diagnosis. He then gave us all the info we needed to fix the issue since American Leak Detection does not do exterior hardware replacements and left the house as clean as when he entered. All told he was at our home for under an hour and we now have a point of origin and resolution plan for the leak.

I paid over $300 to detect a leak that was never found. Ended up paying additional money to simply have the piping re-routed and no refund allowed.

Outstanding service! We had a leak under our house for over a year and tried two other plumbing companies to detect the leak - which both were unable to do! The second company suggested we contact American Leak Detection because they have better equipment for locating hidden leaks. The gentlemen who came out were extremely professional and worked really hard to locate the leak which, as it turns out, was extremely hard to locate since it was in the cement!! One of the men then came back to repair the leak and they did an outstanding job. Even though this is a big company, their prices were the best. They gave me multiple options with quotes and I felt like I could trust them. I do a lot of home renovation and I tend to hover, and these guys were really nice and answered all my questions. I have already recommended them to people and I will continue to do so!
Just recently I hired American Leak Detection to repair a very challenging leak in my pool. The scheduling process was simple but they had to reschedule it a few times due to a personal emergency for their tech. They were very proactive to call me ahead of time. The tech - Robert - was very thorough, courteous, professional and explained things to me with a lot of patience. Because of the nature of the leak, it took him a lot of time and multiple visits to finally get it fixed. If he was frustrated - he did not show it. Very pleasant to work with and very sincere and honest. I would recommend this company and this tech especially to anyone needing pool repair.Great job Robert!

Please beware of this fraudulent and unprofessional company. In 2020 I hired them to detect a leak to my pool. The guy came and detected the leak and said it was a leak due to the building process where the plaster did not fully seal the light which caused water to seep out. He mentioned he fixed the leak but did not tell me it was only a temporary repair (me not being the specialist I took his word for it) months to a year later I started loosing water again. I called ALD they came out and told me it was the same leak and that the repair they made a year ago was only a temporary repair. 6 months ago he came out to perform a repair after my pool was drained. Shortly after the repair I start losing water again. I called ALD to schedule another inspection telling them I believe the repair that was made has failed. ALD said that it was covered under warranty if it was the same leak. Of course another specialist come out and said the leak is the same issue but in the spa now (which is odd because I am not losing water in my spa that is separate from the pool) also, if its the same issue why was this not detected in the initial detection? The last issue was from the building process because when the plaster was sprayed it did not fully seal the light not an over time issue. This company is lying about an additional leak to not cover the failed repair. How can you tell me I have a leak to a spa that has not lost water and that is separate from the pool? Not to mention the initial guy never inspected our spa per the camera footage from our home surveillance. Also, if the spa is leaking due to the building process why wasnt this detected (simply because he did not inspect my spa)
Needless to say, I have been dealing with this for going on 3 years. They promise a warranty but try to lie so that you will pay and they do faulty repairs. Please stay far away from here.
The individuals who came out were great. They were professional, prompt and courteous. They were able to schedule me quickly. Good company. My only reason I did not rate them higher is because they could not find a leak. However I had water leaking just a day prior so I know something is wrong just hope it was an anomaly.

I have had American Leak Detection out to my house on several occasions over the last several years and have found them to be very punctual, professional, and fair and reasonable in their pricing. Nobody likes having to deal with issues such as leaks, but if you think you have one I would recommend you deal with it head on as they don't repair themselves. They only get worse. These guys do an excellent job in my opinion.

I’ve used American Leak Detection twice in the past six months and my experience was first class. In July they replaced our entire sewage plumbing and their whole crew was awesome, the master plumber explained everything very clearly and we didn’t go without a bathroom the whole repair. Last week they repaired a pool plumbing leak and once again everything was explained clearly and the work was first class. After both repairs the cleaned all the debris and patched the concrete holes made to do the repairs. I would definitely call American Leak Detection again.

ALD showed up exactly when they said the would and performed a very complete test of our pool to determine a leak.
This team deserves a sincere review writing effort from a never-review writing person like me. Long story short, a very slow meter movement, almost unrecognizable but steady, was pointed out by an inspector. 3 different plumbers came, vaguely suggested replacing valves here and there around the house, which cost me 1,500 bucks anyway in total, none of them able to find cause of possible leaks before running away. Frustration was understatement as it was by then almost a deal breaker after signing contract and all.
As last resort, I reached this company. I called 8:30 in the morning, and by 10 am, Brian was at my door step. He was calm, professional, found the cause of meter movement - which was never a leak - and stopped the meter just in an hour. As easy as that!
You can't imagine what kind of nightmare previous plumbers - including big name ones - gave me over the past 2 weeks. They mentioned something like digging up the ground, tearing walls, or repipe around the house, you name it, when the actual cause was something as minor as water filter under the sink. Without Brian and the company, I don't know what situation I would be now. My gratitude is beyond words! These people truly know what they are doing.
I have years of property managment experience, and consequently have had occasion to hire numerous tradespeople over the years. The American Leak Detection folks are very prompt and professional. The technicians I've dealt with were friendly and willing to explain all of my options. Pricing is very reasonable, these are good people to do business with.

The entire excavation crew and the plumbers were courteous, professional and did a great job of protecting the interior of our house while excavating and then refilling the trench after repairs were completed. The service team shared the steps to fix the lawn system leak. The replaced the issue in timely manner. The Irrigation system is working with no leak.
Our recent slab leak was very professionally diagnosed by our ALD technician, Justin, who then explained in detail our repair options, the time frame for repairs to be completed and the total cost from start to finish.
Although the repair took a little longer than normal due to a holiday schedule, the leak was repaired in an efficient and expert manner.
Justin went over and above his repair services to answer all my questions in a timely manner and provide guidance for our daily needs of water usage during the period our water needed to be turned off to avoid further damage.

Ken & Ron were real nice guys and got right to work to trace down my leak. After they were done with everything they were very honest and upfront in stating they could not trace down my leak. After flushing my hot water heater the leak stopped, which is not uncommon to the houses in my neighborhood. After all that work they didn’t charge me for the call, I was shocked but happy for now. They suggested I call back in a month or so and schedule another service appointment to recheck. Will definitely call them again.
What a strange experience. Nobody quoted us the $310 detection fee for the guy to arrive for 45 minutes. They won’t provide pricing or any explanation without paying the fee. And even if I approve the work they won’t waive the fee. I’m not paying $310 to find out the estimate is $50k. If you can’t give me basic pricing, then you aren’t getting my business.
The lady in the office is so weird and condescending. I can’t stand her. And the guy that came to do the detection was in jeans and a tshirt, not uniforms like on the website. My wife questioned if they were even licensed based on his appearance
I think I’ll keep my $310 and go to a company that is focused on customer service and not just accounts receivable. I guess all those radio adds cost so much you cant afford good staff.
I’m not impressed nor am I even clear on what occurred at my house today.

We had American Leak Detection to come out and assess the leak in our pool. It took the technician more than a couple visits to detect the leak. That was fine. In the process of fixing the leak, the pipe to the water supply in the pool was damaged, at the hands of the technician. We noticed it that same evening, and called them. They came out a few days later, and fixed the pipe but in the wrong way, not like the original- so that the skimmer basket could not be taken out. When i called the technician, he said that it was an easy fix, we could just cut the pipe ourselves and put in a new joint. When you pay a $1000+, it is a reasonable expectation of a customer to get the job done properly is it not? So after a few more phone calls, and an email correspondence with pictures, another technician was sent out, who just came out and cut the pipe. So we still do not have the water supply pipe into the pool as it functioned before, and will not be able to use it at this point. After leaving 4+ messages to have the manager call me back, i have yet to receive a return phone call addressing our problem. If the technician said it is an easy fix, i do not understand why it cannot be done by them, as they are the ones that caused the damage. This has taken up a lot of time, and we are really disappointed with the customer service. Poor service and follow thru.
Addendum: so first I had given ALD a one star review, but changing to a 5 star due to the corrective action they took in the matter, in addressing my needs. Received a call from James after this review. He came and looked at the work, and easily fitted the pipe joint on the pool pipe. He also sent a senior technician to redo the patch. I appreciate that they were fair and did right by me as a customer. If/when there is a leak, we will call them out again. Thank you.

Contracted for swimming pool leak detection. Referred by a pool renovation company to American Leak Detection. Generally, I was pleased with the value and service. My issue was that my appointment was postponed twice, so I had to fill/top off my swimming pool 3 times in order for it to be in condition to be tested for leaks. Not very convenient (or cost-effective) for me. But, they found my leak, confirming where I thought it was.

Repaired slab leak, which required a 20-foot tunnel. They repaired another leak for us 5 years ago, that required a 15-foot tunnel. We were so satisfied with our experience then that we didn't even bother calling anyone else for the new leak. They were just as professional and helpful this time around. Maybe better. Awesome customer service! We had a leak in our yard. We had a plumber and an irrigation company both come out and they couldn't find it. We called ALD and they came out and determined it was in our irrigation system. They saved us a lot of money not having to dig up our entire yard to find the leak. Highly recommend them.
Great job ALD. Called on Tuesday and we scheduled for Friday. They called Wednesday and said they could see me Thursday. That’s never happened before. One check for ALD. Ken M. came out and searched for our leak. He was great. He knew exactly what he was doing. Showed me that we didn’t have a leak that it was possibly ground water from all of the rains. I had two other companies come before and both just tried to up sell me. What a great value and an honest plumber.

I had a hot water leak under the slab in my kitchen.I had contacted the American Leak Detection company to detect the Leak.They sent Marcus and another guy to detect the leak within a day and I was very impressed with their professionalism,honesty and arriving on time and decided to use them to fix the leak too. Marcus and Mario fixed the leak.The work they did was excellent.They cut the slab to make a hole to get to the pipe without any damages and only removed one tile.They did the work so calmly and professionally.If I need I would use them again and would recommend to others too.Thank you Marcus and Mario for your excellent work.

Not thorough. I bought a home with a pool and had American Leak Detection in Plano look at the pool. They found one leak by the equipment, but never dove in the pool, which is part of the process to search for leaks. The pool was needing to be filled every day almost and when I called to have them come back out they said they would look at the previous repair and fix it if needed but still charge me to re-test the pool for leaks, which I thought was unreasonable considering they must have missed some leaks the first time. Also, they DON'T fix leaks at the equipment, which I've been told is one of the most common places to leak. I decided to go with pool surgeon and they found a small crack in the pool, which they showed me was leaking when they injected dye into the crack. There was also two other leaks. They are currently doing the repairs and taking their time. I feel much more confident in their work, thus far.

We are beyond disappointed in the quality of the service from ALD. They came to our home because we knew we had a leak under our kitchen. The first red flag was that they required a signed contract before they even came to the house, so that was our mistake. The tech that arrived didn't introduce himself, was non-communicative even after my husband and I asked numerous questions (mind you, they charge just shy of $300 for something I now know other companies charge $99) and left our house with A. no sense of urgency about our issue B. told us it would be very expensive but didn't give us any idea how much. I phoned the company numerous times over the next 48 hours to get the report (again, something the company who had to handle our emergency situation was able to produce after re-diagnosing the leak). The report we were eventually sent included photos that were not even of our home, but someone else's. We did schedule the repair with ALD but the earliest they said they could come was 10 days out. We woke up Saturday morning to find our kitchen floor split from the pressure of the leak and I had to SCRAMBLE to find an emergency plumber. Thankfully we did, they were responsive, said we should have been told this needed to be repaired ASAP, and they did so. ALD owes us the money for the appointment back but I assume their signed contract is a way to insure that I never see it. I don't know how this company has such positive reviews but our experience was horrible.

This was honestly the best service experience I've had in a while. I called my technician, Justin, multiple times a day and he answered every time and gave me updates. I was under a time constraint and he made it possible to get the job done fast and correctly. I would leave 6 stars if I could!

So glad we were referred to this company when discovered water leak. There communication system is great- phone calls, texts, and emails. All were timely. Crew that came out to detect leak were excellent as were crew that made repair. First class. Highly recommend. Fair price.

Wow! They guys were professional in all regards. Very efficient, thorough, found the pool leak and fixed it. Very friendly. Highly recommend them.
We never received a call from the manager their responses are BS in order to keep their ratings high. We had to call in another company who came out found the leak and fixed it for 10% less than what American charged us just to find the leak and then break my pull equipment. Had to hire another company to come out and determine why the pump was not working properly after American leak detection tested. Figured out American leak detection took a plug out of the pool that is necessary to provide back pressure for that pump. It cost me $700 to have the pool technician diagnose that problem and the other company to come out and find and fix the leak. paying American leak detection was like flushing money down the toilet I cannot express to you enough not to use them. All they did was try to lie their way out of every problem they caused and it took them months to come out and find the leak all the while we were losing money on water.
My original review:
We have used American Leak Detection in the past and called them back out for a second leak. They ran a pressure test on our pool equipment and dove the pool and could not find a leak...the pool was obviously losing a lot of water. They sent out a second tech. It took nearly 2-months for them to get to both appointments. Both times the tech's came out, when they were finished running the pressure tests they did not put the valves back in the proper position the 1st time they nearly burned out the polaris pool pump because they cut off the water to it but i caught it before it burned out. The second time I was out of town and they did burn the motor out. They came out and looked and said the main pump was not running when the polaris pump was and that is what burned out the polaris pump...that is impossible as the polaris will not run unless the main pump is running. I clearly saw the valves shut off and was able to get to it the first time but was out of town for 4-days the second time so the pump burned out. They do not take responsibility and they outright lie...crazy way to do business. It's a shame there are people like this in the world.

A leak was seeping all around the outside of our house. Brian found the leak and the quote was reasonable. Work approval & payment was through email and online signatures; so easy! Then Dean came and did beautiful repair work. Thank you!

They came out to my home on 7/13/2020, and incorrectly marked a leak inside my house (it was in my yard). Total excavation of my dining room was done under the foundation, no leak. When I contacted management, they refused to pay for the damage to my home and left me on the hook for their poor workmanship. Please don’t use this company.
