Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I was extremely impressed with my Roto-Rooter plumbing experience. I called around 5pm on a Thursday with a non-emergency bathtub plumbing problem and they sent someone to my house by 5:45pm for a free estimate on service. The estimate was considerably lower than two other plumbers that I had previously called and the plumber (Dennis) was able to schedule me an appointment for first thing the next morning.

Dennis was exceptional in explaining everything and getting it all done correctly and quickly. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about either Dennis or anyone I talked to on the phone at Roto-Rooter and am very satisfied with my service.

March 13th a Roto-Rooter plumbing specialist came to the house to fix a plumbing issue. This specialist, named Carlos, was told there was an open pipe underneath, walked through what needed to be done, and was told the water was turned off because of the open pipe. Carlos then goes down to the street (he's working alone, just one of my friends was at the house) and turns the water on, when he gets back up to the garage, my friend is yelling that the kitchen is flooding. Carlos goes back down to the street to turn the water back off. He shop vacs and wipes down the kitchen. Patches the plumbing issue and begins to clean up. My wife gets home at this point and see's Carlos stepping on the floor in the kitchen and then wiping something up, we learn later this was some sort of whack a mole game where he was getting water to shoot up from underneath the flooring to try to get it cleaned up. The next day I call Roto-Rooter and speak to the assistant manager (I don't remember her name) she tells me it's not Carlos' fault or Roto-Rooters fault, but she'll follow up with her boss to see if they can have someone come out to take a look.
A week passes.
I call back, speak to the same lady, she tells me she's going to speak with her manager and get back to me.
Again, a week passes.
I now start calling and asking for Lee Leonard, he is the owner of the local Roto-Rooter.
I am calling and talking to him a few times a week before he sends his team out, a lot of calls end with him telling me he'll call me back, but he never does. He sends his team out and they confirm, our flooring has been damaged due to the work of Carlos.
A few more weeks pass of me calling and being told from Lee, that he has reached out to a contractor to have the work quoted and completed, but never hearing from the contractor or Lee any definite timeline.
Finally the contractor reaches out to me, tells me a similar story to the above, that he hadn't been asked by Lee until recently to reach out to me. He checks the damage and quotes the work to Lee.
May 13th, after two weeks of calling every day and being told Lee is either not in the office or that he's busy and will call me back, but not hearing from him at all, I email Corporate Roto-Rooter
Corporate gets in contact with Lee quickly and Lee tells them the contractor was supposed to reach out to me weeks ago to schedule and that it's the contractor slowing everything up. I get a call from the contractor the day after I email with corporate. The contractor tells me Lee just gave him the go ahead to do the work, but to save money Lee is going to have his team come in and do the demo the day before the Contractor is going to install the flooring, then return the day after to put everything back. We set a date, things are seemingly finally getting taken care of...
Last wednesday June 5th, the Roto-Rooter team comes out to do the demo of our flooring. At one point, one of the Roto-Rooter guys peaks his head in my office and asks for me to come take a look. They've ripped up about a third of our Dining Room accidentally, they were doing the demo to save some money, but end up tearing up the flooring in a room they weren't supposed to touch. They also take an entire door frame off to get my fridge out of the kitchen, damaging the paint and some of the trim around the doorway, instead of taking the doors off the fridge. Then as they're packing up and tell me they're leaving, I notice they've left the dining room partially torn up, I have to tell them that they have to finish tearing up that room, as the flooring doesn't match 100% and won't line up.
The contractors doing the flooring work have been fantastic, more about them at a later date.
Friday Roto-Rooter comes back out to put my things back, but tells me their Project Manager is the only one who can put the door jam back on and he won't be back til Monday (6/10). Their PM came out on Monday to assess what needed to be done and told me they were too busy to get it done that day, but they'd call me back in the morning on Tuesday (6/11). 3 months still not done

It is Monday morning and while cleaning my kitchen I found that my drain is clogged and backing up. I called Roto Rooter thinking the problem was going to be a lot worse than it was and thankfully it wasn't. The friendly person who set up the appointment said to expect a service man between 11 - 1. In less than 30 minutes I had a call from Ami Bikri telling me that he was on his way and would be there a little after 10. Found that it was just a clogged drain and no huge deal. Ami was informative, tidy and friendly. If you need a plumber in the Memphis area they are the one to call. Thanks for making my day less stressful.

These guys do really good and solid work. Kelly really knows what he is doing and he treats your plumbing like it is his own and he really cares.

We had a leak coming through the ceiling in the garage from upstairs. Problem was determined to be a leak coming from both upstairs bathrooms and was repaired the same day....
Everything was wonderful. I personally was not there for the repair but my sister was and she when I checked in with her while the tech, Shawn, was there she told me everything that was going on. She said he was very nice and professional. He fixed the leak and also replaced tub spouts in both bathrooms. We will be using Roto-Rooter again if ever needed.

Update: Once again satisfied with the services of Roto Rooter… we had another leak from the same issue from a few years ago… on today Allen was our tech… very nice & explained everything how it would be fixed… and then the manager Samuel stopped by after Allen was done just to check out... BEYOND WONDERFUL SERVICE!!!

On 12-13-12 I was so frantic that the kids had loaded the toilet with tissue. that I was literally in tears. I had called my plumber but he was unavailable to assist me. I'm normally a strong woman but current health issues cause me to worry alot. And then when I found out how much it would cost. I was discouraged. I say that it all worked out. The technician couldnt bear to leave knowing I couldn't afford the service. He gave us a site to find a coupon and showed so much empathy for ME. That it was unbelievable. You can call it what you may, he was an angel for mr that day. I Thank God for send ing the right Roto Rooter technician out. he saved me and my childrens one day restroom insanity.

The employees were friendly, professional and answered all of my questions. Fees were not charged until a resolution was reached (for example, no charge for the service call or rooter device that was tried unsuccessfully. I was only charged for the jet device that actually worked.). The price was in line with having a couple of plumbers and machines on site for a couple of hours. Never used a service like this before but would definitely use Rotor Rooter again.

About 730 at night they called us and said we can't come out but can get a appointment for Monday. Keep in mind we started this calling at 10 an the morning. So taking my business somewhere else.

August 2012 - When I found my carpet soaked with water and needed a plumber on a Thursday night, I called Roto-Rooter Memphis. I promptly heard back from Joe and he arrived at my house quickly. Little did I know that my job would be one of the most difficult broken pipe jobs he had ever faced. But he, and later another plumber named Billy, worked together to fix everything perfectly. The entire time I was completely impressed with their work ethic, professionalism and true concern for the situation I was facing. They made me feel better by doing an excellent job. We had a clogged sewer drain on a rainy Sunday and we called Roto Rooter, they explained that Sunday's were after hour rates, so we asked them to call us Monday to schedule a service call. Within 30 minutes the tech on call for Sunday called us, JOSH WAS AWESOME, not only did he come out within an hour but he only charged us the regular rate. LOVE THIS COMPANY!!! We have used them several times through the years and we have always been very satisfied with the service we have received.

Roto Rooter saved us from purchasing a home we were going to put an offer on with thousands of dollars of needed sewer/water line work. The tech who came out, Shaun, was friendly, effective, smart, and honest. What seemed at first to be a complex problem was actually something simple, but it took Shaun's patience and detective work to figure that out. Frankly, it would have been the perfect opportunity for gouging. The only reason I knew that the problem was simple was that Shaun was honest and told me it was simple. I seldom post Google reviews, but my experience today was outstanding.

Carlos performed an excellent and timely repair on my broken water pipe. He went out of his way to get my problem fixed the same day and was helpful in explaining the issue and how he resolved it. Will definitely use again in the future if I have any other problems!

Waste water backed into the house and the shower we caught it in time cut off all the water. Roto-Rooter and Kelly Gibson did troubleshooting and discovered there was a blockage under the patio at the back of the house. Used a backhoe to carefully uncover the problem which was an issue with a clean out that had never had a lid installed. The clean out was 3 feet under the ground and had tree roots growing in it. A quick cleaning and then run the camera both ways to make sure everything was clean and the work was done in an hour and a half excellent excellent excellent I can’t say enough about Kelly and his help. Installed a proper clean out pipe when finished. Wonderful. Highly recommend Kelly Gibson and His crew.

These guys are crooks they tried to charge my mom 10,000 to replace 3 gas pipes then they charged her 1000 to look and find the leaks. Then he had the nerve to say well you won't find no one cheaper I laughed and call premier plumbing they charged us $3000 to repair everything. These guys are funny as hell.

Roto Rooter is so prompt, helpful, and reliable. They are quick to resolve our issues and reasonably priced.

Repair man was prompt and courteous. He could not find my clean-out, so he had to call another man and they went down through my roof vent. Shortly after they left, I flushed a toilet and it ran over. I called and they were back here quickly. This time they ran the cleaner line further and pulled out roots. Everything works fine now.

Both men were very polite and courteous, and did not waste any time.

Roto-Rooter's Ami did a great job fixing our laundry line. The response time was quick. Ami was very friendly and informative. While snaking our laundry line, some dirt was splashed on the door outside. When I returned, he was Windex-ing the windows to remove the grime. Really awesome how he went the extra mile! On 1/25/13 we called Roto Rooter in Memphis with issues of our backing up in our master bathroom. It got to the point that the toilet would not flush all the way. A plumber from Roto Rooter came and also another guy and they fixed the back up issue of toilet paper and such. He was very informative on what they were doing. They stayed until they new the problem was completely fixed.

I contacted the company late on a Monday evening and got a call from the technician (Lyle) within 15 minutes. His estimated time of arrival was 45 minutes later, but he actually arrived about 20 minutes later. The technician was very nice and provided very helpful advice on how to keep my drains running free and clear. I will definitely contact the company again if I ever have another issue, but considering his tips I don't expect that to be any time soon.

The quality of Roto Rooter's work is great! Carlos was very friendly and helpful, as well. I can't think of any reason to not use this Memphis plumber again.

Hattie-Roto Rooter's Ami Bikri, the plumber, did an excellent job coming to my home to work on my kitchen sink. I was having trouble with my kitchen sink clogging up and leaking for a few weeks. I was using Drano and other types of unclogging solutions, but it seemed as if nothing was working. He came in and fixed my sink in no time. He explained to me why my sink was so clogged up and even replaced a part to stop the leakage. Thanks Roto Rooter's of Memphis for saving the day!!! Awesome service!

I contacted Roto rooter on 5/14 for clogged drains and was told that someone would be contacting me shortly. Well I was contacted about 10 min later and was told that someone would be out between 9-11 the next morning. The tech arrived on time and was very professional. He did a great job removing root from my drain. I will definitely continue to use Roto Rooter.

My water heater was leaking so I had Roto-Rooter come out to look at it. First guy seemed knowledgeable and friendly and told me the actual tech was on his way. Tech gets there, looks for a minute or two, and then says they don't work on water heaters. While the service was fine, it was really just a waste of everyone's time and could have been avoided if they'd just told me that when I contacted them.

They charge $258 to unstop a toilet. The guy was literally in my house for 5 minutes! I would never call them again. It’s clear they only want money!

The Best plumbers in Memphis! They are always able to fit you into their schedule and they are fast and effecient. I call early in the morning and they are normally there by lunch time, if not sooner. They also give you a 2 hour window which allows you to still enjoy your day without having to wait around. I set up a service call online, and got a confirmation immediately for a plumber service call in the Memphis area. The service technician arrived early, and was clear in explaining the anticipated cost based on his findings. Within just a few minutes, the problem was taken care of.

The service Tech, Joe, Tech number 7, was friendly, professional, and efficient. I will definitely call Roto-Rooter for any future needs.

I paid $89.00 to receive an outrageous quote of $2200 to replace a 30 gallon water heater! The water heater retails for $469.00 at Lowe’s and it took 20 minutes to let the old one drain & 1 hour to install it. Roto-Rooter replaced my water line last year so I trusted this company. The online ads say 24 hours of emergency service but I was quoted it would be done 4 days later. I have lost all trust in this company due to false advertising and outrageous prices.

Mr. Barry Brewer was very patient. I was running a little late returning home and when I arrived he greeted me with a smile. Mr. Brewer explained the duty of the machine he was using to clear my washer line. He also suggested pointers which may assist with clearing the washer line every other month. Mr. Brewer was very professional and we appreciated his time. Be Blessed to be a Blessing!!!

While unclogging my kitchen drain, it was suggested that I might have a break in my line and he could call a buddy of his who has the camera to come over and take a look. I asked him about the cost and he said it was normally rolled into the repair charge as long as I let Roto-Rooter do the repair. I then asked what the charge would be if I did not let Roto-Rooter do the repair and was told $ 289.95. That's when I thought I was being scamed and told him I did not want the camera service. He packed up his equipment, told me the line unclogging would not be covered under warranty since there could be a problem and left. The main drain plug was left sitting on the floor underneath my sink. I put it back in and tightened it down.

I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter Memphis. They were prompt, professional and did a great job. I would definitely use them again for any plumbing issues.

The serviceman was very knowledgeable. He repaired the leak in the joint near the high pressure regulator in just a couple of hours.

My double sink/disposer was clogged so badly, We plunged it, took the trap off, augered and cleaned it, then poured liquid plumber into it...Nothing worked. It was about 8PM and I couldn't reach my regular plumber, so I got online and called Roto Rooters 24 hr service..To my surprise, we actually had a drain man there within the hour.

They quoted us $1600 for two pipe repairs. A licensed and well reputable independent contractor that i found on thumbtack did both for $300, the same day, in less than 4 hours. This company is extorting an already struggling society. Do not support this!

Good service. Very expensive for what I had done. Ran a snake and unclogged quickly. $350 for less than 30 minutes of work. Had guest out of town so had to have it done.

Rude, rude people. My landlord uses them to flush the main drain and they ALWAYS block my driveway and are very rude if I tell them I have to be somewhere.
My landlord called them a few months ago to fix a clog in her line under our house and they went back and forth about not being able to pull anything out. Then they said they pulled a mass of grease and tampons (none of which go down our drains) but couldn't show us this mass of grease and tampons and ended up charging us $680. 2 weeks later while repairing another section of pipe, I realized they had duct tapped my pipes back together. I will never use or recommend this awful company.
