My wife and I did a lot of research collecting and formulating in advance our goals for our kitchen remodel. Steve Shinn and Aaron Thomas were extremely professional in every phase of the project. Our 1981 semi-custom home in Tempe was not an open floorplan by design. Steve listened and looked at all our research and together we came up with solutions that met our expectations and budget. Steve applied the classic work space triangle concept that is the cornerstone to making our new kitchen chef friendly. He included some extras like the pull out vertical pantry cabinets, deep appliance drawer cabinets and two waist-high spice drawers that are all utilized daily. Soffits were removed to allow full height upper cabinets greatly expanding cabinet capacities.

We wanted the warm look and feel of wood cabinetry. In particular we liked the minimum reveal look associated with modern European style cabinets. Steve did trade-off comparisons for us on locally crafted vs factory cabinets from the east coast. The local source worked out well as some unplanned adjustments were quickly crafted with little delay to the project.

We further challenged Steve with our lighting and power requirements. We have zoned ceiling lighting with small LED can lights as LED's were then becoming reasonably priced. All the appliance power outlets are hidden under the cabinets and under the granite breakfast bar. This solution allowed for a plug free stainless steel continuous backsplash with under cabinet mounted LED lighting.

In summary: Our experience using Homework Remodels was beyond our expectations. They should be high on your list to talk to and see if they can be the solution you have been looking for your remodel.

I have done work as a sub contractor (plumber) with many contractors over the years. I have found that Gilbert and Centennial Builder’s truly care about the clients and the end result. As a business owner and sub contractor…. I wouldn’t hesitate to have them in my home.

Buildco transformed our backyard. As soon as I made the phone call they came out to discuss our ideas on the yard, gave a fair estimate in a timely manner and started and completed the project as scheduled. They were by far and away one of the best contractors I used when doing a full remodel of my home. They were extremely attentive to my needs and wants and really went above and beyond to handle things when they were convenient for me and not necessarily for them. Their crew was awesome. Super nice. Great attitude. Would explain to my wife, son, and myself what they were doing and why throughout the entire process. Would use them over and over again. Great process and great results.
