When we decided to gut and remodel two bathrooms in our home, an inconvenient and messy project to say the least, we were determined to find the right contractor, especially since we have had less than enjoyable remodeling experiences in the past.
As soon as we met Jon, we knew he was going to be our guy. We immediately saw that he had the personality traits that would make working with him very comfortable. He is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy. His communication skills are stellar. He stayed in constant contact throughout the entire project and gave daily updates regarding the schedule and any other pertinent information. We were never in the dark about what was happening.
Every trades person who came into our home, was polite, clean and respectful and their work was excellent. Jon helped us initially define and then refine our vision and delivered it with perfection. Our new bathrooms are beautiful and we couldn’t be happier. Jon has our business for life. I can say with complete confidence that Maple Avenue Construction will not disappoint.

Just got finish. Way ahead of schedule to our surprise. Our Kitchen reface job and beautiful new granite counter tops, just breath taking.
Republic West representative suggested that we did not need new cabinets, and ended up refacing. He suggested that the boxes were in great shape and why spend the extra money. Hew was right.
With refacing they look brand new. We couldn't be happier with Republic West Home start to finish experience.

I hired McCurdy to do TI work for my new small business and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. I had the unusual circumstance of beginning construction right as the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown hit. I was worried that my construction would be significantly impacted, but that didn't happen. They rolled with the punches and adjusted things as necessary to keep the project as on track as possible given the situation. I really appreciated the attention to detail and responsiveness the project coordinator Greg displayed! Any issues that arose were dealt with promptly and fairly. The crew doing the work were fantastic as well - friendly and they do great work. My salon looks awesome and if I get the opportunity to open another location I will absolutely call McCurdy!

His crew, the painters, drywall, tile guy, and his worker Kris were all very polite and knew what they were doing. I'm glad that we went with him, he turned our vision in to a reality.

My wife and I are extremely happy with how everything turned out! We had a entire bathroom remodeled, part of our kitchen updated, and had tile installed in majority of our home. The value was great compared to a couple other estimates that I got. They don’t try to upsell you on anything and actually help you on what will best suit your vision on a remodel. My wife and I hired Rick to do a major renovation of our home (all bathrooms, garage, kitchen, laundry room, floors, etc.) in February of 2022. Our initial meetings with Rick in January 2022 were great. He was very responsive, friendly, and communicative. That was until we signed a contract with him and paid a $4000 permit retainer. As soon as we paid Rick the communication and proactiveness disappeared. To summarize the details below, it was a nightmare of 8 months just to get a permit approved by the city.
We were told he would have the initial plans ready for us within 2 weeks. It took over 6 weeks and multiple follow-ups just to get him to provide a draft of the remodel design which had numerous mistakes. The following day we sent an email with a list of all the mistakes that needed to be fixed including measurement corrections that I had to take myself.
3 weeks later and no word from Rick, I follow up to check and he indicates that he will be submitting the plans end of the week (April 12th). After many more follow-ups and involving the Refresh Renovations corporate we finally get him to submit the plans to the city on May 13th, 3+ months from signing the contract. Note, the contract indicated that the project would start in mid-April.
The plans that were submitted were riddled with issues and required THREE rounds of corrections! We finally got the permit approved at the beginning of October. Rick provided excuse after excuse throughout the whole process. I have worked with dozens of contractors in the past and Rick and Refresh Renovations were BY FAR THE WORST!
We canceled the build contract and have found much better professionals to complete the elements of the renovation.
