The true test of a company is how they handle problems that arise when something is done unsatisfactorily. We have spent in excess of 10k with affordable on a variety of issues including two external gas line leaks. In the course of our dealings we discovered things that needed updating and replacing and one of the items was our 75 gallon water heater. After a lot of discussion, Ben and I decided a tankless system (although almost 4k) was going to be the most reliable and trouble free. The old tank was removed and the new system installed with an immediate problem with the gas valves in the attic. According to Affordable the $200 piece needed to be replaced which we agreed to. Well then after some time waiting for the part, then waiting for the schedule to clear the part was installed but the system still did not work properly and did not get hot water to our kitchen sink instantly as promised. Ben and Ron came out and spent several hours, Ben was on the phone with Navien and at the end nothing improved. Now Affordable is claiming we need an inline system (approx $1,500 more at least) which should have been advised/diagnosed at the very beginning, not after the fact. Ben is a great guy and isn't shy to inform you that he has been a plumber for some 25 years and has installed dozens of these systems. We have suggested that either Affordable removes the system and replaces it with a 75 gallon water heater or adds the inline system at no additional cost to us as we are at approx 4k for the system. So far they have stated they are unwilling to do this and have refused to take any responsibility for the problem or stand behind the product and installation.
We have scheduled a Navien rep to come out (10 days from now) and assess the issue but to date Affordable Plumbing, Rooter and Water Heaters has not given us any assurances they will do the right thing and make us happy. We will update our review according to how they handle the matter going forward.

CUSTOMERS BE ADVISED THAT IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A VERY EXPENSIVE TANKLESS WATER SYSTEM THAT YOU MAKE SURE YOUR HOUSE IS PLUMED PROPERLY FOR IT. THIS STEP WAS MISSED PRIOR TO SELLING US THE SYSTEM AND IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD. THERE HAS BEEN ZERO IMPROVEMENT IN THE TIME IT TAKES TO GET HOT WATER TO OUR KITCHEN SINK. AFFORDABLE PLUMBING (which by the way is no cheaper than anyone else) REFUSES TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION THAT IS SATISFACTORY TO US. THEY CLAIM TO BE STAND UP AND TO STAND BEHIND THEIR SERVICE BUT WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT FROM THEM. BUYER BEWARE. Unfortunately we have no other choice but to file a complaint with the ROC and sue Affordable for misrepresentation. Ron stated he is willing to handle this in court rather than do the right thing and fix the problem at his expense.
