Best Annual Testing in Portland OR
I believe the technician that checked our backflow system broke a valve on the system and left it in a closed position, preventing us from using our irrigation system. He did make a note of the leak in our system (an apparently pre-existing problem).
Someone from American Backflow came out to check our system to see if something was amiss and other than noting the standing water from the previously noted leak, did not check the valves and said everything was fine except for my leak.
I had MP Plumbing (who I highly endorse) come out, return the closed valve back into the open position, allowing me use of my irrigation system. I then had MP Plumbing dig up the backflow preventer system, repair the cracked system and replace the valves and repeat a check of the system - at a cost of > $1000.
I don't think American Backflow had anything to do with my leak or the costs I incurred from the leak, but it seems reasonable to expect that a competent technician/plumber should have avoided damage to the valve, and at least left the valve in the open position which is how they found it. At the very least the American Backflow troubleshooter should have been able to find the troubles they had caused.
