Best Electrical Safety Inspections in Phoenix AZ

Had Parker and sons come out this morning after my AC unit stopped blowing cold air. Not a good thing in Phoenix when we are having 100 degree plus days still in September. I am a “Preferred member” so I was hoping that would get someone to my place quicker than normal. Called at 10pm and they were out at 9am so that was a relief and refreshing to see. Cesar was very nice, professional, and quickly diagnosed the issue. I have no issues with Cesar as he was everything you would want in a service person coming out to your home. However, I was told my AC safety switch was the issue and it would be $500 dollars to fix. I quickly looked up the part cost and saw that you could get one for under $50 and that it could be installed in an hour or so. The $500 seemed very expensive but it was getting hotter by the minute in our home and I didn’t have the energy to argue the matter so I gave him the go ahead to fix it. He fixed it in half an hour and we were then back to feeling cold air.So, the response time, the technician Cesar, and how quick they were able to have us comfortable again we’re excellent. I would expect this as a “Preferred customer” but it was still nice to see. However, I feel taken advantage of in that I had to pay $500 for a $35-$50 part and a half hour of labor (that’s like a $800-$900 an hour equivalent labor cost!!!) Cesar was kind enough to waive the $79 trip fee as he could see that I was a little irritated at the cost (once again Cesar being awesome). He seemed even a little embarrassed at how much this cost me for such a cheap part and easy install. Don’t get me wrong, company’s need to make a profit and with how good they were in the other departments I was prepared to pay more for that level of service. However the cost for this $35-$50 part and 30 mins of labor felt obscene.I don’t mind paying big $$$ for big repairs on cars or big ticket items when things go wrong. I don’t mind paying a little more for quality and service. I don‘t believe in buying just whatever is cheapest. And, I also am not the type of person who even leaves reviews like this…I have only really ever left positive reviews when a company has done really good quality work or their employee did an awesome job. However, I needed to leave a negative review here as I feel that I was taken advantage of by Parker and Sons during a time that I really had no other options. What was I going to do? Tell them to not fix it so that I could shop around for a few days while my fiancée, our pets and I are extremely uncomfortable sitting in a 90 degree house? Of course not.I don’t know if there is a definition for this kind of excessive overcharging and taking advantage of customers financially during times they are without other options. Whatever it is called it sure doesn’t feel good to be on the wrong end of it. This is not what you want in a service provider who AZ families depend on for safety and comfort during the summer months. Hopefully, this review will make others think twice before calling them. However, if you want great service, prompt attention, awesome technicians and don’t care about being excessively overcharged, then you’ll probably love Parker and Sons! If this is how Parker and Sons treats their “Preferred Customers” (from a cost standpoint), I shudder to wonder what their costs are for “regular” customers.
