Appointment window 10AM - 2PM. Tech showed up at 2:30pm. Showed the problem(clogged drain pipe) to the tech. He quoted a price. $570 plus tax to snake the drain. $602 dollars seemed expensive just to snake a drain. But he assured me he could accomplish the task so I went with it. In total he spent about 10 minutes attempting to clear it. 40 minutes overall at my house. Needless to say he could not clear the drain. So for 10 mins of work Roto rooter wanted to charge me $385 service fee for a job he failed to do after assuring me he could. Not to mention, that fee should have been stated at the beginning, and it's NOT on their contract. I refused to pay that.The Tech called the manager. Manager stated that's the fee if the Tech is there over an hour attempting to fix the problem. Wasn't at my house for an hour. Again 10 mins of work. Most time was spent going to get his tool from the truck(about 10-15 min.) Manager quoted a price of $165. I paid that for nothing. Oh, Roto Rooter you should also mention at the beginning that you dont accept cash. What a waste of time and money. Never again!!!Update : A manager from Roto Rooter reached to me in regards to my unfortunate incident. Another more experienced Tech was sent out to assess and if possible unclog the drain pipe. Great guy! However after assessing the situation I was informed that the drain line was no good. (100 year old house) The effort was free of charge. Although my situation require a more expensive fix. I Appreciate the Managers resolve to have a fully satisfied customer. That's part of the professionalism you expect from a major company. I change my review to 3 stars.

Not recommended. The technician broke the shutoff valve while fixing our bathroom sink.

We had called about a small leak. The tech came to assess and said we needed a whole new faucet. We agreed and he installed a new one. While doing it, he broke the shutoff valve. He did not try to fix it; after charging us $450 for a new faucet, he simply just left.

When we called the company again for support on replacement valve, they said they would need to charge for the replacement. Charge us for something their own technician broke.

Great business model, old as time. Make something worse, and then charge customer to fix.

I **think** the team leans on a task rabbit type of hiring. So luck of the draw on the technician. This is a guess, as when we first called the company to complain they said we don't have record of sending anyone. We had to send a picture of the receipt from the tech as proof. Even after this, they did not take any responsibility for the poor work of the tech they sent.
