Justin and his coworker Dom were absolutely fantastic. He was exceptionally easy to communicate with and was very accommodating and flexible with scheduling.We needed to add a switch and wiring for a new pendant light over the dining room table. Justin and Dom did very meticulous and clean work in a timely fashion. They were considerate while in our home and cleaned up after themselves. The fixture looks stunning just as we imagined.They even came back to install smart dimmers I purchased free of charge.Justin takes pride in his work and also in offering very fair and reasonable pricing. Justin was the best electrician I have ever had. Not only was he prompt in fixing the issue, but when it later turned out that the issue was more complex than originally thought, he returned the same day and fixed the entire circuit. If that wasn't enough, he was kind the whole way through, while also explaining all of his processes and what they would do. He managed to do an amazing job, while also providing some really interesting information for the future. Extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. Cannot recommend enough.

I wanted to install a smart switch to control some low-voltage lighting. It turned out the surrounding switches and outlets made the installation far too complicated for me. I called Justin on a Friday and he was able to come the following Monday. He did a great job — he figured out how to make the switch work properly while retaining the functions of the surrounding switches and outlets. He trimmed screws to protect my tile backsplash and made sure to clean up meticulously when he was done. He explained everything clearly to me along the way. He’s a pleasure to work with. I will definitely call Tavella Electric again when I need electrical work.

I reached out to Justin for a small job, replacing a light fixture and upgrading a few outlets. He was immediately in contact and I had an appointment scheduled in no time. He stayed in communication up to and including the day of the appointment. Not only was he timely and professional, but he and Dominic also went above and beyond to ensure everything looked great and was cleaned up afterward. Justin is incredible! He helped me identify the source of an ongoing electrical problem and did a full meter and panel replacement. He is very accommodating - he even came out after hours on short notice to help me with a power outage and got me back up and running that night. He is far more affordable than other providers who gave me estimates. Not to mention Justin takes the time to thoroughly explain the issue and educate you on all the updates as he makes them. I had an electrical fault occur and I called 3 places. 2 were told to make an appointment (which I did) and a missed call from Justin. But he called back after a couple of hours and asked if I could send him photos. After seeing the photos of the glowing orange he called me back immediately saying he and his staff are coming to look at it. Because he can't go to bed without checking it out. He ran a new wire to temporarily fix the fault and also educated me and recommended what my next steps should be.My family is grateful for what Justin & his staff did. It's more than a service but a wholesome human being. I would hire them in a heartbeat if it's within their capacity.

Justin and his coworker performed a switch replacement. They are my guy's for electric. I called them and they returned my call within ten minutes and were pleasant and helpful. They came to fix our problem the very next day and had to climb five flights of stairs because the elevator in our building is always broken and they never complained. I cant thank them enough. I was at work when they arrived and fixed our problem. I wish I was here to meet them.

2023 - Repeat Customer. Had a light out and bathroom fuse kept popping. An illegal splice behind drywall was the culprit. Justin diagnosed and fixed in an hour. This was literally the smoothest house-related fix I've ever experienced. We called Justin this morning to ask about two outlets that weren't working even after resetting the breaker. He was in the neighborhood so he came over within a few hours, and he was great at keeping us updated about his timing/ETA. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it, and told us to call him if there were any future problems. Super nice, super efficient. I'd definitely recommend him!

Justin is THE MAN when it comes to electric work. This guy will be transparent with you about costs, the work load, and time in your home. We had our service line replaced, installed a ceiling fan and upgraded our electrical panel from the 70s about 3 weeks ago. He just came back to install a garbage disposal switch under the kitchen sink. He's friendly, responsive, and clean. Hire him for all your electrical work! You'll be glad you did!

Justin was extremely responsive and professional. We had a tough time finding an electrician that would take our (relatively small) job, but Justin was great - he got back to me within a few hours of submitting an inquiry, was out within a day or two to check it out and provide a very reasonable estimate, then came back a week later to do the job. His work was high quality and quick, and he and Sean were a pleasure to deal with. I'd strongly recommend Tavella Electric and plan to use them for future projects.

Justin was called in by our Realty Company to fix 2 fixtures in our house. He contacted me immediately, aske me to take a few screenshots so he could prepare, and kept me informed about every step of the process via text. TL;DR: Hire him, if you can catch him. :) He does good work, so he's busy! :)My wife and I just bought our first house in South Philly. We had a house inspection before the sale that pointed out some corrections needed. We have some loose plans to upgrade electrical outlets, add exterior lights, add a vestibule light, etc. I reached out to Justin by phone, and left a VM describing our needs. He got back to me the same day, and we arranged for him to walk through the house. I also sent him our inspector's report.He arrived and was so amiable and friendly, it was like we were being welcomed by the Mayor to South Philadelphia. :) He patiently walked with us as we told him what we needed, he offered options, and we discussed what we wanted. We also had a great conversation with him about South Philly living, and South Philly history! He gave us a proposal within a day - even though he has a busy schedule. His proposal was straightforward, and easy to read.We decided we needed to break up the work over several months, and prioritize some over others. He didn't bat an eye. He came by to do the work needed, and walked me through every step. He also took the time to introduce me to the existing electrical wiring, some of which dated back to the 1960s. He *really* knows what he is doing, and he does it by the book. He reduced the charge from the estimate to match the time he spent working! He was super conscious of doing tidy work, and following good safety practices.I would highly recommend Justin Tavella for all your electrical needs! :)

My experience with Tavella Electric actually restored my faith that there are honest, reliable contractors who will stick to their word-- AND provide great craftmanship. I needed outdoor fixtures replaced but my work schedule did not allow me to be home to schedule repair. I spoke with Justin on the phone and he told me if I left lights outside, he would come by my house and install them. I know sounds crazy, but I did leave them outside and he did come and install them!!! And cleaned up.They look and work great I cannot say enough good things. Beyond 5 star service.

I contacted Tavella Electric when I was experiencing a power outage during a severe cold spell. As I explained the situation and what I was experiencing to Justin, he identified something and asked me to send him photos of the main connection to the house from the outside lines. From this he was able to correctly ascertain that the issue was with PECO. Rather than take easy money and come out to my house, he suggested that if I called PECO, they would be able to fix the issue for free. He was correct, and saved me (and cost himself) probably hundreds of dollars.Honesty and integrity like this are rare, and are worth supporting.

We lost power to all of our kitchen outlets. I can do a little bit of electrical work by myself but I could not figure out the issue. I found Tavella Electric online and called. We are located in South Philly and I like to support local small business owners. I was hoping to get a call back the next day and maybe an appointment the following week. This was the best experience I ever had with a electrician. He got here and removed a broke ceiling fan and installed a new one that actually works.
