Mike the owner took a personal interest is my desire to purchase a new furnace he said all the right things, he knows his business and products.
He assured me the furnace is right for the house and will provide comfort all winter long. HE WAS RIGHT! I've purchase three furnace from 3 different dealers over the past 50 years and Restano came out tops.

Our home air conditioner died after 27 years during one of the warmest weeks of the year. We have heat sensitive pets living with us, so I was in a panic! Restano worked quickly to help replace the air conditioning as soon as possible and at a very reasonable price. Thank you again!

In today’s world, can you think of anyone who would leave people without heat, communication, and money only because they hold the keys to energy infrastructure? Well.. whoever you may have thought of, this company would do it to you too. Read on.

My furnace started malfunctioning and I could smell a car-exhaust-like odor in the house. Called Restano, and they were able to dispatch a technician right away, within a 4-hr window on Monday. The technician diagnosed a blocked secondary heat exchanger that needed to be replaced, all covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. The warehouse confirmed that all the parts were in stock, - just needed to be delivered to Restano’s office locally, which they said could take a couple of days and the office would call me once the parts order was placed, so we could schedule the service. Great! I approved the plan and agreed to pay a hefty $950 labor charge for the work.

That’s where the pleasant part of Restano experience ends. Why? Because they knew they got me. The office never called back, so I called them end of day Tuesday. Olivia on the phone was not able to confirm if the parts order was placed and/or give me any status update. She said she’d call me back, but – you guessed it – never did. I waited for another day and called the office again, only to speak with Olivia and get the same answer. No information on the status, parts delivery (or even if they were ordered), scheduling, etc. Instead, she promised to call me back and… never did.

So, I started calling around. Spoke with several contractors and picked one of Restano’s competitors locally. Compare and contrast: 1) They were able to place the parts order immediately, 2) called me back within 15 minutes to communicate the estimated parts delivery date (Friday), 3) scheduled the service for Monday, and 4) offered a better price.

This was end of day Wednesday. By Thursday, the heat exchanger blockage had gotten so bad that the furnace has stopped working (tripping the rollout switch). Here I was.. Freezing temperatures outside, two kids in the house, no heat, and still no word from Restano..

With little hope, I called the competitor again to explain the situation (no heat) and see if there’s any chance the service could be expedited. They: 1) sent someone to go and physically pick up the parts for me from the distributor (Thursday evening), and 2) reworked their schedule to have a technician out to me Friday morning. (Fast forward, - in less than 48 hours from my first call, including ~5hrs of work, they had my furnace back up and running) :)

Restano woke up on Thursday. They actually CALLED me (ta-da!) to schedule the service for Monday. At this point they were irrelevant. The office manager, Dawn, apologized and tried to remedy the situation by offering a discount and speeding things up. Mr. Restano called to explain it’s a busy season right now. If they choose so, they might leave an apologetic (or un-) comment here. Bottom line, for those considering Restano, ask yourselves if the apologies would make your home any warmer when there’s no heat. Ultimately, there are those who leave people without heat, communication, and money, and those who don’t. The difference is customer CARE.

First, Matt came out on a Sunday as the backup to the regular technician. We couldn't have asked for a more thorough and courteous diagnosis of our furnace problem. He also explained the various options for repair and/or replacing the unit. He presented the various models available and we decided to proceed. He left two space heaters for us to use.
First thing Tuesday, Chris and Jeremy arrived to install the unit and were very competent and professional. I enjoyed Chris' sense of humor. They took time to answer more questions that I had.
They work out of the Plum Boro office.

New furnace and AC installed. A previous visit by Perry occurred to repair my non working furnace. That appointment was made quickly and Perry was able to fix with a part he had on hand. He then gave me estimates to replace my aged furnace and AC.
I scheduled an appointment to replace per one of the estimates. Paul and Jeremy arrived on time, were polite and professional, and installed both the furnace and AC in under 6 hours. The price matched my estimate, they explained what they installed, showed me the furnace filter and how ti work the programmable wifi thermostat. Then they cleaned up after the job.
Also important to know is that everyone who serviced my furnace worked for Restano and were very skilled. They obviously had done this many times. They were not sub contractors.
I am pleased.

I had excellent experience with everyone from Brian who came to the house and explained the different AC units, pricing, and scheduling. The technician was very nice and kind. Austin was very knowledgeable n explained everything to me about the unite n answered all my questions. Austin was very efficient in his work very professional. He went above n beyond, Restano should be very grateful for such a awesome and dedicated employee. Thank you for making my experience positive doing business with Restano.

Replaced a heat pump and condenser with a Carrier Furnace and A/C unit, and went with Restano (after comparing bids). Restano's work is always top notch. Teams are always hard workers, efficient, and easy to talk to about the work being done. I would highly recommend them (and always do).

We've had two projects done by Restano now. A tank-less water heater install and a major outside underground downspout repair. Both times the work was done promptly and any minor issues were resolved quickly. I usually don't mention names in reviews, but the master plumber who did the work on our outdoor drains (Frank)deserves a mention. Very professional, detail oriented and very personable, his vision for the project and the manner he accomplished the project was well above what I expected. I won't hesitate to use Restano again and I recommend them to those who need a plumber in Pittsburgh.

I don’t have a bad word to say about the service visit, the purchase process, or the installation. I feel I got a good value, and Jake & Chris worked 7 hours without a break installing the furnace and new venting. I’ll come back to them when the AC finally konks out, too.

I use Restano for my furnace and AC checks, so when my water heater broke on a Sunday night, I called them. Frank (the service tech) was polite and answered all my questions. He cleaned up perfectly afterward as well. I've always used Restano, and will continue to do so! Great service!

A tech diagnosed that my furnace needed a new heat exchanger. I was told it would be in stock in 1-3 days and ready for immediate installation. After a week went by I called Restano back and got some sort of call service that never called me back. I called 2-3 times that day and each time they acted like they didn't know who I was and had to take all my info down each time, and said someone would call back right away.

A day later, I finally received a callback and they had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about my heat exchanger replacement. They finally were able to look it up and found that they never ordered it.

After finally ordering the part, my furnace was finally repaired over 2 weeks later from the initial diagnosis. I paid via check to the tech, and the next day, they called me and said I never paid them and tried to make me pay again!

The actual work was done well and quickly, but the entire experience was very frustrating and there is extremely poor communication among the different parts of the company. Definitely would NOT recommend.

Upon discovering that my basement was full of sewage at 9:00 pm on a work night, I called the first company (franchise on the list), but they couldn't come until the next day. My wife and I were so beside ourselves and needed the problem resolved that night. I then called a local company, Restano and boy was I glad I did. Within seconds after I called their 24/7 line, Nick the plumber...contacted me, asked what the problem was and indicated that he would be at my house within the hour since he was coming from across town. As soon as Nick arrived, he assessed the situation and took the time to explain the issue, how my system works and how he would attack the problem. Although the job wasn't easy and it took some time to clear, Nick worked extremely hard and tried various options until the problem was resolved. Within 1 hour, he fixed the issue and indicated that if it occurs again (within a reasonable amount of days) that he will be back at no charge to once again snake the drain. He also explained other options if the snake doesn't work, which would include the need of a camera and more, but at additional reasonable costs for which we completely understand.. Nick also explained other options to receive discounts on any plumbing issues within the future, upon signing up annually to have my furnace cleaned and checked,. This would give us some peace of mind if this would occur again, but most importantly help with additional costs per an emergency call. Considering that I had similar issues in the past, I'm going to call their main office to make sure I sign up first thing in the morning.

From the very minute that I contacted them and from the time Nick left our home, their customer service was outstanding (above and beyond) and we couldn't be more pleased with Restano. Thanks Nick and thanks Restano!

Please don't waste your time on the national chains if you live in the Burgh. So glad Restano answered our call for help.

Restano always does great work in plumbing, heating and air conditioning! Matt came this morning and did a great job getting my furnace prepared for the upcoming winter. I have the service plan so they come out twice a year to make sure everything is working just fine and gives my furnace or AC a tune up. Great people work for Restano and I have never been disappointed!

The furnace at my dad's house (he is 99 !) went out on Sunday afternoon. An emergency tech came out later in the day and gave us the news. (old unit, bad heat exchanger) After a phone call early Monday morning, two installation reps came to install a new unit. It was finished by 4 and the heat was back on. Thanks for the great service. Matt came by on Sunday, and was a big help, Austin and Jake did the installation on Monday. Everyone was great, Thanks to all !!

Late last summer my 20+ year old A/C condenser coil began freezing up. Then in Winter my furnace, which was just as old, began making strange noises. So in the Spring, I called 4-5 local cooling & heating companies to get estimates for repairs and/or replacement. After much research, I chose Restano Plumbing, Heating & Cooling in Plum Borough to completely replace the whole system with a new high efficiency Carrier system. The old units were at the end of their lives and the new one is 15% more efficient. Restano scheduled the installation just a few days after I call them - a good reason to choose Restano since other companies were weeks behind. Restano's installation team showed up at 7:00 AM and began work immediately. There were five technicians involved and all were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and polite. They put me at ease right away by answering all of my questions and the entire job was completed by around 1:30 PM. During the install, the techs kept me well informed of their progress and involved me in decisions about pipe and duct placement. Lastly, when the job was finished, they left my basement cleaner than before they started. I am 100% satisfied with the results and love the new Carrier system, which by the way works perfectly with my smart thermostat that I had previously installed. I am also happy with the total cost and would highly recommend Restano for any heating and/or cooling job.

I called restano for a service call and was told that they charge a $69 service fee which is fine and standard. The guy who came out DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT! I got charged $150 for the guy to tape my wires together and not even give me the correct diagnosis. He tried to say my boiler was over 40 years old when I just got a new boiler installed in 2017 then he tried to say I didn’t have a flame in my boiler when there was indeed a flame then told me my stone valves would stop Dripping once the pressure built back up. Well it’s still dripping smh these Powell don’t know what they’re doing
