Charlie and his helper came for a second opinion after our 1st plumber hired didn't even come inside and rushed to judgement. Charlie took his time to fully diagnose the issue, testing all 3 bathrooms and two stacks, to find the exact issue AND a satisfactory resolution. Very satisfied. Will absolutely hire again.

Hired McClain Bros for Deck Replacement. There were some issues with initial materials order and cost that was addressed immediately to my satisfaction. I highly recommend them for a Deck build or replacement and ask for Tony and his crew! Professionalism, high quality work, great communication throughout the project. Everything you'd expect from a contractor and more.

Made an appt to get a repair estimate, plumber and electrician showed up but the owner was a no show (scheduled a meeting for same time AFTER making appt with me) and never even called. 9 days later I have plumbers estimate but nothing for repairs or electrical, and no date when it should be available! No calls from them, no contact unless I initiate it, then just vague answers and excuses. Seems to me they don't want the work so I moved on, suggest you don't waste your time waiting for them either. Unprofessional!

I contacted McClain Bros after trying to call multiple other emergency plumbers and having no luck. I had a basement full of water and was feeling desperate. I reached Rich right away who immediately figured out how to get a crew out to our place, and then he even talked me through turning off the water to our house in the meantime. Mike and his team arrived way quicker than we had expected, they were professional, efficient, helpful, and explained everything so clearly to us. They determined where the leak was coming from and what would need to be done. I would 100% call McClain Bros again and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a plumber!

The list of what went wrong with renovating 2 bathrooms is too long to post. 2 years later, look at what was discovered by my contractor. McClain Brothers had installed a new tub in my house by cutting a five foot piece out of joist- without replacing any support. Needless to say the tub has settled and grout has already begun cracking. This was and continues to be a nightmare. Buyer beware.

Angel and Randy were phenomenalI was assigned this company by Home Serve for my hot water heater. I didn’t have to lift a finger. They worked things out with Home Serve for me and also manufacturer of hot water heater (still under manufacturer warranty). They had one guy remove old one while other went to go pick up new one. They cleaned everything up. Between diagnosis, removal and replacement was 3 hours. Highly recommend and extremely professional!!

Absolutely amazing! Highly, HIGHLY recommend. I called them with an emergency kitchen sink leak on a Saturday. They came within a couple of hours and ahead of the scheduled time. Clean, professional, and quickly resolved the issue. I asked them to come back during the week to look at another issue. Again they were early and fixed the sink properly. I had 3 other plumbers fail to actually fix this crazy kitchen sink. The guys were super friendly and guaranteed their work. It's been a couple months and everything is still working great.

Edited to add: I called McClain again when my sewer line was clogged. They came out within a couple hours (on a Saturday) to do a temporary fix, and by Tuesday afternoon my drain is now completely replaced and working perfectly. If you need emergency plumbing work they are definitely the guys to call!Original review: Found them on Home Advisor - the leak was fixed within an hour and a half of contacting them. I was recommended to use McClain Bros by Home Advisor to build a deck for me. It was a huge mistake. They are ignorant of Philadelphia building code, dishonest, careless in their work, and cost me $3000 for no deck.Rich C. (their Project Manager) came to my house and told me that permits would be hard to get but we could go ahead right away because of connections he had at L&I (a guy named Barry)They asked for half up front. (Red flag.)They provided an estimate with no itemization (Red flag.)They showed up in a plumbing truck despite claiming to be a construction outfit (Red flag.)They got off to a bad start when their master craftsman Walt poured a concrete footing in the wrong place. Sort of thing a tape measure usually helps you avoid.Though I'd been assured they were making the deck to code, L&I was called. (Barry was nowhere to be found.) L&I shut the project down. It stalled for 5 weeks. I had to chase Rich C. and Mark the owner for answers.It was a disaster. I feel they were less than honest and the result is that I got half my deposit back. Every aspect of dealing with them was unprofessional and I think you should probably avoid them if you can.

McClain brothers was recommended by a friend of mine. I used them in two occasions and attempted to use on one more occasion.In the first occasion, they worked on a burst pipe in kitchen, and then ended up redoing the entire bathroom! They said insurance will cover and started working on demolishing, and then guess what insurance didn't cover and I ended up paying +8K for a burst pipe. The bathroom they ended up doing was very poor in quality.In the second occasion, they replaced a faucet with no issues.In the last occasion, they just didn't show up. No text, no emails, no phone calls, no response to my follow upsDone with them.

Great service I had a water problem at 9:30 in the morning they had a plumber out by the afternoon!! Same day highly recommend the plumber came To my house very professional and clean highly recommend this plumbing company I will always call them for plumbing stuff Steve.

McClain Bros. was referred to me by a business associate who knows the owner. They came to my house in Doylestown and quoted what ended up being a one hour propane hookup for a new Kohler Generator for $ 500.00. Yes you read it right $ 500.00 for a one hour job. It gets better.... the plumber did the hookup incorrectly which was pointed out by the Kohler guy I hired to perform the startup of the system. The Kohler guy was nice enough to call McClain for me and speak to the owner Mark McClain and explain what was wrong with the propane hookup and the best method to do it by adding a new regulator. You would have thought the Kohler guy was speaking another language because Mark McClain did not want to listen and did not want to come back without charging me. The Kohler guy told McClain what needed to be done with exact detail of each type fitting that was needed. Luckily I am in the trades and had a good grasp on what needed to be redone and I was not paying for anything other than a few fittings that were necessary for the repair. So McClain comes back to make the repair a day earlier than they told me and doesn't call me with a heads up like I specifically requested. So I have to leave work and meet the plumber who again dropped in unannounced to make the repair on the outdoor generator. I pull up at my house.. walk over to where the unit is and the plumber is doing something completely different than the instructions we gave the owner just two days earlier. I asked him why he put the regulator where he did and what about the mega-press? He states, my boss did not tell me any of that. I said pack your stuff up and get off my property. I am now going to pay a new company another $ 300.00 to do the job McClain couldn't get right on two attempts. My guess is McClain was happy they didn't have to come back but what a $hit-show. Total lack of attention to detail and they gouged me with the initial price!! Now this is a guy that was referred to my by someone that personally knows Mark McClain. Where is the accountability?? Total incompetence on behalf of the owner and I could see that the plumber they sent out could care less. Avoid this hit and run contractor everyone!!

This is a plumbing company, but they advertised that they also did decks in Philadelphia. We had an absolutely miserable experience working with McClain Bros. on a new deck. We were told we would have a deck in one week, by Father's Day. Now it's mid-August, and their partially-built, structurally unsound, illegally-built deck has been removed and we are out thousands of dollars and back to square one. Tough lesson to learn.

Scheduled a sewer inspection. I was not home, wife was home. I was told the line was holding 25ft of water and it was rotted out. Repair cost $4350. Came home from work and watched the video provided by them and barely seen any water in the line or any rot. Had another plumber come snake the drain and clean it and record another video. He says the drain is fine, no rot, no water, just some grease build up. McClain said they would come back out 2 days in a row to look at it again and never showed up. DO NOT USE. Trying to SCAM people and do unnecessary repairs. Not trustworthy at all.

McClain Bros. was performing work on my neighbor's home. During this process, they drove their truck onto the sidewalk and destroyed our brick and mortar flower bed/planter in front of our home. Three of our neighbors independently witnessed this, took photos, license plate, etc. McClain denies they did it and refuses to repair the damage or take responsibility. Further, their employees were extremely rude during my follow up interactions (with one exception). I would not recommend working with such an unscrupulous outfit, wish I could give Zero Stars.

McClain Bros do amazing work!! also the guys work well together to get the job done , We had them here a couple times and each of the times they did an outstanding job i could not be any happier ! they are all so friendly i would welcome them back any time i highly recommend if you are looking for a great company to do some plumbing work you give them a call they are also on Facebook so like their page !!!! We had a hot water heater leak Sunday night (Veterans Day). They came out the next day and took care of the problem. Fast, efficient work. If I ever need plumbing service again, I'm going straight to them.

This guys were , fast , efficient , professional , friendly and great plumbers . They were knocking my door 20 minutes after I called them when the ETA was 1/2 hr . This guy rock and I'll make sure me and my family will keep doing business with them .

McClain Bros. plumbing replaced 2 leaking pipes in my basement. 3 months later, one of the pipes is leaking and they won't return my calls. Do not use the McClain brothers!

Mark arrived at his stated time, and it only took him 15 minutes to complete the service. If I ever need another plumber McClain Bros. will be the first I call again.

Awesome friendly service!! Might i add a pipe mastermind. Not only do i highly recommend them but i will be using them again. Their prices are worth the service.

They did a great job, superficially. But underneath the pipes were busted. Cost $2700 to repair.
