GEN3 Electric & HVAC

Our technician was so considerate and thoughtful while giving us an estimate. We need an outlet moved for our dishwasher, but it turns out there's more to it-- the outlet should also be on its own circuit. He explained everything he was doing and why it was necessary, he cleaned up after himself (and he saw a small mess from a previous contractor, and cleaned that up as well!), and he locked the door behind himself when he left. We liked being able to schedule online, they had availability quickly, and we get all our receipts emailed to us immediately. It's wonderful dealing with Gen3.

My experience with Gen3 was excellent. ILive in South Philadelphia. The service was exceptional. I was having problems with my electric in my home. Our heating went out. Gen3 came out days before we originally scheduled and were able to get it working within an hour. We were prepared to shell out 5k+ for a new furnace, but they were able to fix the issue in under $300. Their technician was cordial, amicable, and highly professional. He explained everything to us and gave great advice on what to do with our HVAC system.

They installed three mini-splits in my bedrooms that got so hot in the summer. The crew was professional, friendly and got the job done right. They didn't rush through and really listened to what I wanted in terms of where to install. Overall, very happy!They also replaced an aging water heater and added an electrical leak shutoff mechanism. Overall, the technicians were great, friendly, response & on time. Quality of work was exceptional, everything was explained to me and done on time. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Definitely recommend Gen3 electric. Ed, Jacob, Griffin and Mike were truly the dream team!I had someone come out and inspect an extremely old house that needed a lot of work - they had the estimate ready in hours and I was able to get those four super heroes out to execute the next week. What should’ve been a 2-3 day job (where power would be out throughout all days) was condensed into a 9 hour day thanks to these guys. They were respectful and polite, punctual and efficient, and walked me through the updates in super understandable and to the point terms. I’ve used them before and I will use again!

I’ve used gen3 for a few small electrics jobs in my home and have always been pleased by the quality of service and work. I’ve had great experiences working with Jordan and Josh on assessing projects, and they both exceeded my expectations with their professionalism, patience and ability to explain complex details in a straightforward way. I will continue to make gen3 my first call for my future electrical needs.Update - had more work done with Gen 3 and I continue to be happy with the great service they provide. GEN3 was able to schedule someone to come out to give me an estimate for my light fixture installation within 2 business days. The technician came out, provided the estimate and once accepted, removed by old fixture, moved the electrical box and installed my new fixture in less than 90 minutes. He was clean, professional and personable. 5 out 5 stars!

I have used Gen 3 for a number of electrical needs over the past few years and I am always pleased with the work they perform. Gen 3 technicians are personable and professional, and get the job done. Manny was no exception - got here on time and performed the work and provided good recommendations. Gen 3 systems are good- notification that the technician is on the way, etc... I highly recommend Gen 3!

Gen3 has been pleasure to work with. They’ve gone above and beyond to accommodate my erratic night-shift schedule: by calling at particular times, reaching out via text, and easily scheduling at preferred times. Evan was prompt, thorough, effectively explained what he was doing, and very mindful of the two cats in our house. He was honest, upfront, and made it easy to understand what was crucial vs preferential, thereby allowing us to make informed decisions. I can hardly believe that he wore shoe covers and vacuumed when done. Will continue to use Gen3 for all my electric and HVAC needs.

Almost a month ago we had Gordon Coleman from Gen3 out to install a circuit in our kitchen for a new induction range. Gordon came out to provide a no-obligation quote for the install and Gen3 waived their usual fee for this because we were still not totally sure we were going the induction route or not. Gordon was professional and communicative throughout the entire process. He completed what, in my opinion as a theatrical master electrician, should have been a two-person job, both competently and efficiently by himself. My only regret is not writing this review sooner. Thank you Gordon for your effort, we appreciate you.

Have used GEN3 for everything from a one month, full house renovation of our old electric system to installing a switch or switching out a light fixture. Kevin helped walk us through everything and we’ve had great luck with Dan and today with Evan coming out to do the work. Evan explained everything, made sure we were ok w the estimate, and did the work and cleaned up with no trace. Always a pleasure to hire them and we know the work will be done well and safely.

George was awesome! GEN3 has been around for a long time and have always represented themselves very professionally and swiftly. Their computer software and payment through their installers tablet made the whole process from estimate to completion seamless. The installation was finished in a half a day and looks great.

Working with Branden today was nothing short of amazing. He was professional, proficient, positive and considerate. Not only did he solve my problem but he did it in a timely manner.....very efficient! I love my new door bell!!!!

GEN3 was recommended by my family member. Upon my initial call I found them to be extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. The gentleman (Manny) that came did a thorough inspection of the issues I inquired about. He explained the problems he noted and went over the quotes with me and answered my questions. He was courteous and very professional.

Jeffrey and his associate were communicative and arrived on time. They were able to quickly diagnose the issue with our boiler/heater and explained what they would be doing every step of the way. The cleaning and servicing of our boiler was quick and efficient. Thank you, GEN3!

Electricians Prince, Joe, and Mike rewired our entire old house - all lights, outlets, switches, and ceiling fans - and did it without tearing out walls or leaving a mess. They were very responsive to the contract and even did a few extras to keep the customer satisfied. Our house is no longer a fire hazard and we can sleep peacefully thanks to their expert work.

Evan came out to do an estimate for me today. He was on time, professional, and detailed with his estimate. He was a pleasure to work with and left me with a great first impression of the company whom I have not hired previously. I would hire and recommend the company based on my experience with Evan today.

Dan came back to replace a wall remote that was broken (factory issue). While here he also put a wall plate to cover up a receptacle around a bulb light. He replaced a top hat ceiling light at no charge. We were able to get an appointment next day when we called. Dan did an estimate for a new project we have in mind. He gave us three options to achieve our goals and separate estimates for each. We will definitely have Gen 3 back to do additional projects. I left a negative review recently but they have gone above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied. I would recommend Gen 3 to friends and family.

Kevin was empathetic, went above and beyond the call of duty to investigate and solve the problem. Dan Giuliani is the best electrician. Patiently he explored the wiring and discovered wires hidden in closet and corrected the error. I’m very grateful. He is a super technician at Gen3.

Our experience with GEN3 Electric & HVAC was excellent. Technician Aston was very considerate and polite. Having problems with lights flicking .He checked out panel box, outside wires, & light switches in our home. Explained that issue was not in our home, but a problem with PECO. Service was exceptional. Recommend this company to family and friends. Will use this company again. Once again very pleased with this young man

George Clanton was a lifesaver! He came out to our home late Friday at the last minute to diagnose and provide a solution for an urgent electrical issue. Had an appointment with technician Justin. Arrived promptly and he was able to determine the issue with the boiler right away. Answered all my questions thoroughly and solved my heating problem just in time. Highly recommend!

Gordon came and gave me an estimate for some work. He explained everything very thoroughly and was attentive and very courteous. He was specific with what we could have done and gave us detailed steps on the issue and what it would take to get it resolved.

I am so happy with my decision to put in an inquiry with Gen3. Dave, the technician that came out to my house was AWESOME! Bill and his apprentice were here for 2 days installing a ceiling fan and recessed lighting in a few rooms of my house. He talked me out of making a bad decision with track lights and I'm very happy with the results. He was also very friendly and personable. I will be requesting Bill to come back when I need additional work done.

Had to do several electrical repairs & upgrades in Norristown. Discovered the need right after the winter storm in December. Spent two weeks trying to get electricians to show up for quotes and to do the work. Called 5+ other electricians. Some from Google, Some I'd used before, etc... Everyone was booked up or failed to show up. Finally got recommended to try Gen3. They gave us an appointment within a few days of my first call, showed up, sent us the quote immediately, and when I discovered additional work, amended the quote to include it within 24 hrs. Then they showed up and completed the work well and in a timely manner.The Electrician I worked with was Chris, and I was very happy with his work and professionalism.

I had Evan as a tech come out to do a walkthrough and estimate. Evan was on time and called while on his way. He was very professional, open minded and detailed with his estimate. Cliff was great! He came out shortly after I called and was extremely helpful. He didn't try to upsell me, nor was he pushy, but he was very honest about the repairs that needed to be performed. I am glad he came and he was able to resolve our heating issue in less than 2 hours.

The outlet we use for our washer/dryer stopped working. I called GEN3 and they sent an electrician out that same day. Nate Flanigan was great. He diagnosed the problem, explained everything, reviewed our options, and answered all our questions.

Our Rep, Chris McDevitt, was punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable. He listened to our concerns, and diagnosed the issue in a timely manner. He explained the additional work that needed to be done and promptly scheduled a new appointment with us for Monday morning. More importantly, Chris would not leave until we were comfortable, by making sure that we had the comforts that were needed until the repairs on made tomorrow. Thank you Chris!

Jim, Tara and Brian were a terrific team installing 5 mini splits in my house over 4 1/2 days. All questions answered, always considerate of my house and pleasant to deal with.

My experience with Josh was great. He showed up on time. Although we could not complete a thorough assessment of the job for hire, Josh took the time to educate me and provide options for my project.

Matt Gatens came out this afternoon and handled service on our Lennox heater. It’s approaching 20 years old. We might need to upgrade soon. Matt was informative and confident and know what he was doing. GEN3 continues to impress us… We will definitely use them again.

My heat wasn’t working just as the random November warm front was ending. Gen3 was quick to bump up my appointment when an earlier slot was available and got my heat working in less than an hour once the tech arrived. I could not be happier with their service, professionalism, and responsiveness.

They installed new HVAC systems & a hot water heater in our condo. This was not an easy job as these systems were located in the walls and on the roof of our unit. Gen3 is fantastic!! I’m so happy I chose them to replace and update my outlets when I moved into my condo. Plus they have a 2 year warranty so if anything goes wrong (like you think an outlet has broken but you actually just need to press the reset button with more oomph than you expected) someone will come by and “fix” it. I feel silly for not figuring that out on my own but not silly at all for choosing Gen3!

We asked Gen 3 to diagnose a problem we had with the electric to our refrigerator. Jordan worked quickly to identify the root cause, clearly explained the why and what the fix would entail. He designed a plan for how to fix it with the least headache to me as the homeowner. We will schedule the work soon and I am confident the work will be done right.

His explanation of costs and answers to all my questions was very helpful and he did not push to sell items but provided a helpful professional opinion on requisite work.The crew that arrived to install the new system was headed by Charles Smith, assisted by Steve and Alex, and they performed admirably in Philly summertime heat. The team was professional, courteous, hard-working, and efficient. They explained the steps of the installation and answered all questions I had. Use Gen3!! Amazing company. I have used their services more than once and never disappointed. I really like their model: visit, give a quote on the spot, and if you agree they start right then. My latest service was to install four high hats in a room with one center fixture. Removing the fixture, installing new high hats and patching the ceiling took half a day. And they vacuumed and removed the trash. Can’t recommend them enough.

We've always had good experiences with Gen3, and this time was no exception. Bill did a great job replacing old wiring to our second floor--I was thrilled that he didn't have to make any holes in our first floor walls! He and his helper, Mike, were friendly, happy to explain what they were doing, and patient with our suggestions and questions. Bill did several extras we weren't expecting, including relabeling our electrical panel with easy-to-read printed labels. Two thumbs up!

I've had Gen 3 at my home for a variety of services, including but not limited to ceiling fan installation, replacement of knob and tube wiring, outdoor outlet installation, and most recently, mini-split installation. I went with Gen 3 for this because the technicians have historically been professional, punctual, considerate, knowledgeable, friendly, tidy, and all around good folks. The techs that came to my house this time, Eric Z, Jamie T, and Jerome D, were all of those things. They respected my time, my home, my decisions, and me. I ABSOLUTELY recommend Gen 3 and those gents to anyone who needs good work done by good guys in their home. The sales fellow, Dave Capeci, had a very easy job with me, I already knew I wanted the mini-splits! But his knowledge of the systems educated me and made my approval of the project immediate! And the folks I spoke with over the phone, Jessica, Janay, Melissa, and Matt, all very pro!

Everyone was amazing - from making the appointment through to the end of the repair. The technician was prompt, professional, and did excellent work. I was bummed that because my repair was under $250 that the appointment fee couldn't go towards my repair (The repair took only 15 minutes) but again, it was excellent work and the tech was knowledgeable.

Today Jordan K, came over to look at an issue we had with our bathroom light and was extremely polite, explained all of the issues in way that made sense, and provided us with options based on our budget. I will continue to use Gen3 for all my needs and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Gen3 Electric and Mike J were great to work with and persevered to find a solution to my electrical woes. I had an unusual issue with some AFCI breakers nuisance tripping almost constantly despite no clear issues with any components of the circuit. Ultimately through extensive testing and troubleshooting on two separate occasions performed by Mike J, and some trial and error, he found a solution to the issue. Mike J was professional, responsive, and a pleasure to work with and clearly cared about finding a solution to my unusual breaker issue.

We used Gen 3 to do a complete assessment of our home’s electrical needs. The technician was on time, respectful, and thorough. He walked me through our needs in easy to understand language. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Gen3! Everyone we dealt with, Cyndy, Brittany, Matt, and, of course, our amazing electrician, Dave C., were OUTSTANDING! Cyndy, in the office, was so efficient and on the ball and such a pleasure to work with.Our electrician, Dave C., replaced an outdoor light which was on our roof, with a motion detector light and camera. It ended up that he had to run a whole new electrical line through walls, a crawl space, and siding. He did such a tremendous job that you can’t even see where it was installed.Living in an old house, Dave came across some problems requiring him to do some extra work, but that didn’t deter him. He handled the entire job with professionalism, speed, neatness, and a great attitude.We would HIGHLY recommend Gen3 (out of 26th Street, Philadelphia) and would not hesitate to use them again!

Armando was here for furnace preventive maintenance. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. Answered all my questions. Checked all the things I would look at as a home inspector. Measured CO and supply/return differential. Kept work area clean and respectful of my home. Would highly recommend company and technician.

We had a leaking mini-split unit in our master bedroom and were tired of getting the runaround from the original contractor. Gen 3 (specifically Jeffrey and Armando) were awesome! They were very knowledgeable and responsive, and they did an awesome job. We subscribed to the service plan immediately after working with them.Separately, while our problem ended up not being covered by our home warranty, Jeff and Armando did a great job working with the home warranty claims representative. I’d highly recommend them if you are unsure how to proceed with a potential home warranty.

These guys are great - they’ve helped us out a few times with electrical issues and are always responsive, respectful and professional. Reasonable pricing as well and I can trust that they’re doing everything up to code and safely. Gen 3 is our go-to electrician - so glad we found them!

GEN3 and its technicians, Evan and Brandon, were wonderful to work with. Not only did they do a great job replacing our electrical panel and installing fixtures throughout the house, they were punctual, respectful, and fun to work with. When you have tradespeople in your home, it's always nice to feel safe and develop a rapport with them. These guys not only know electricity they know how to deal with people, which is a huge bonus -- but it shouldn't be! Highly recommend.

Jeffrey W. was great he explained what was going on and talked with me while he was tuning up the furnace. He gave me additional advice on things to help the conditions in the area were the heater was installed.

We had Justin from GEN3 come out and help us with some HVAC issues we've been having. He was very knowledgable and helped to quickly diagnose a few issues that were in our system. I loved the communication from GEN3 around scheduling as well. Will be using them again if/when we need more help down the road.

The compressor for our AC stopped working in the evening of one of our heat waves and they were able to see us the next day. They tried to make it here by noon as scheduled, but got held up. Our house was a mess of bad decisions by the prior owners, and we've needed a ton of rewiring, dangerous sub-panels replaced, old junk removed, etc etc. GEN3 is always great and for this round of work, Aaron was fantastic.
