I called and Terry answered. He was honest, and said he had just shown up on another job but would call me when he finished it. And then he did call me.

He said he was about a half an hour away. And he got here in half an hour.

My main drain had clogged. My homeowner style snake was not up to the job. My basement had some standing water.

Terry asked several intelligent questions in order to diagnose the most likely problem, and then got to work. In not much time he had the drain open and cleaned up some of the water.

He charged me the low end of what he estimated over the phone.

A-Reaction Rooter Corp is the only plumber I will ever use or refer. I have worked with Terry for a number of years and have found that his work is consistently excellent and highly professional. In addition, A-Reaction's prices are incredibly resonable! My most recent experience was awesome; they responded quickly, confirmed the problem was fixed before leaving, cleaned up after themselves (Terry even swept the water out of my garage) and charged a very reasonable fee for everything. We have a kitchen drain that's been clogging up every 2-4 years. I keep 'blowing' it out, but over time it's poor design allows buildup to overwhelm my simple efforts.
Terry came quickly and put in more effort than I'd seen of the many previous plumbers. He took a goodly amount of time running the rooter back an forth, explaining how he hoped that would keep it clog-free for a longer time.
It was obvious that pipe got a more thorough cleaning than in the past.
He also suggested a tool to buy and use should this clog again in the future.
A real pro, Terry Wilson did a complete job. I was impressed with his work - I'd call him again.

Terry did a terrfic job and saved me a lot of grief. I had an emergency with the septic system and called first thing in the morning. He came right out and started assessing the problem. We have a 100 year old apartment building in St. Helens. We have used A-Reation several times and have always recieved great service at a fair price.

We decided to call up A-reaction rooter based on all of the great reviews to check out some issues with our new house. I had 3 items that were looked at, which took one guy a total two hours. First was a bathroom tub drain that was draining slower than others in the house. This took about 30 minutes (including setup and clean up), and this drain is now in acceptable condition. Next we went outside to inspect a rain/gutter drain pipe that wasn't flowing. After about an hour, we got it cleared enough (using a power auger to remove some roots) to at least have some water flow. This was also acceptable (knowing I'll have future work I'll have to do regarding the roots).

My only problem came with the third item that was looked at. It was another outdoor gutter drain pipe that drained slowly (but did drain). In total, around 20 minutes were spent on this line item, where his auger (a long metal cable rod that get's sent into the pipe) got stuck on some roots just a few minutes in. During his retrieval attempts, he was pulling on his auger line, and the underground pipes broke and were pulled to the surface. In all, roughly 5 feet worth of pipe was broken (and dug up) before we successfully retrieved the auger tip. No further work was done to (yard dug up, and my gutter doesn't have a place to drain now).

It may sound like I am angry about the broken pipes - this is not true. I have no problems accepting that there are problems with my pipes and that I'll need additional work done to remove the root problem. The real problem lies in the billing. This third item was included in my work performed section. When I am effectively being charged $160 per hour, it feels wrong to be charged for this line item when my situation is now worse off than I was before I called A-Reaction. If this had taken him an hour or two, I would be more sympathetic to being charged, but this item only accounted for maybe 10 minutes (plus 10 minutes to pull it out, which I helped with I might add).

In conclusion, A-reaction did 2/3 of my tasks successfully, so I can round 3/5 stars. Considering the higher cost ($160/hr), I would probably try another company next time.

Terry answered his own phone on Saturday.
He was clear regarding billing and projected show up time.
He actually showed up a little early and went out of his way to shorten the time required to snake the plugged waste line.
I thought his billing was fair.
The occupants of the two units that now have functioning kitchen and laundry facilities are much happier than they were earlier this morning.

I live out in Damascus, and after the flooding rains we had last week, I discovered that our 190 foot, 8 inch storm drain was plugged with rocks and debris. And with more rain on the way, I needed it unplugged NOW!!! My regular plumber did not have equipment big enough to handle this problem, or enough time to call me back, so I called Terry. He came out 2 hours after I called him, and he had the right equipment!!! It was a powerful hydro jetting pump that made short work of my problem! And his hose was long enough that it was able to clean out the entire drain with out having to add extra sections. I will save Terry's number, and certainly use him again if our drain gets flooded! Terry's work is quick and courteous. He made every effort to accommodate my schedule to fix our problem as quickly as possible, and is extremely pleasant to work with. Our drain is unclogged and he left our tub sparkling. He found a fault in the overflow drain but did not push work on it when we didn't want extra service. Terry came out to our residence on Memorial day week end to check our hot water heater that was leaking with NO charge. Tank is very large and is up on a stand and recommended another plumber that maybe able to help us that has more employees as it will take more than one man to move this monster. I would call him again if I had any other plumbing issues.

It's typical. The day before Thanksgiving a deep clog somewhere in my home's pipes caused my washing machine to empty it watery contents directly into my downstairs bathroom's shower, and subsequently onto my bathroom floor! The ensuing flood made my bathroom unusable and I was left with the daunting task of finding a plumber who could come out on short notice to tackle the problem at hand.

We have used A-Reaction Rooter a handful of times over the past 5-6 years. They are quick to come out, professional and offer friendly service. We have used them for various issues that range from helping pull a toy fish out of the toilet to fixing our garbage disposal. The prices are fair and reasonable. I am happy to recommend A Reaction Rooter to you all. I had a clog that was backing up half the plumbing in my house so it was an emergency. Terry came out that morning and cleared it. The clean-out was in a tight and tricky location but he was able to do the job. His attitude is professional and his price is reasonable. Terry came out within an hour and got our kitchen/laundry drain open and working. I'd use him again for a plumbing issue with my house.

Terry came out on a Sunday afternoon to deal with sewer water leaking back into the basement through our clean out. After trying to snake the clog out, he was still determined to solve the problem and used a hydro-jet to clear the line. Most others would have quit and said you need to replace your sewer line, but after the hydro-jet and second camera inspection, everything was working as it should. Honest, reliable, fair, trustworthy and reasonable rates are all things that a home owner seeks when in need of major repairs. A-Reaction Rooter, and Terry are all of these. We would highly recommend him for any plumbing need.
