Free Flow Plumbing

I originally gave John at Free Flow Plumbing a good review until I went to my rental property and checked his work. He had installed a cleanout on my main, cast iron stack. Right after his work was completed all the toilets connected to that stack above his work, had heavy leaks, none of which were there before. I've been informed, this is a result of when someone cuts into the main stack not supporting it properly, thus creating the whole stack to shift (lower) and loosen the connections of all the toilets/fixtures above.
I requested a meeting with John and he reluctantly showed up, after telling me he wanted to make things right. He then proceeded to tell me that those leaks were there, before he commenced his work and that they were not his fault, which makes no sense because I've owned the property for 15 years and the ceiling and walls connected to those areas would have been wet and/or discolored.
He got very defensive and left quickly, then told me if you aren't satisfied call his lawyer. Not, let me make this right. Being a fellow contractor in the same city as John, for the past 15 years, I have learned over the years that things can go wrong at times, during those times it is an opportunity to shine and go above and beyond to make the customer happy. This isn't the philosophy at Free Flow Plumbing.
Not only were his rates are outrageous, the quality of work was beyond poor. He left the job site a mess, leaving the waste pipes, he cut out there at my property, along with dirt he tracked throughout the home. He had to cut out 2 boards to get access to the area and instead of re-installing them, he just left them on the basement floor. Being a contractor I talk to a lot of plumbers and I mentioned this job to them and it was a consensus that John consistently does poor work, and if there’s ever an issue he will leave you high and dry and direct you to his lawyer. Stay away from this company! I cannot stress this enough.

We had a new gas line run to the kitchen for a new stove. Excellent service as always!

John came out to the house same day to help us with a clogged bathtub drain. He ended up finding a solution to some poor plumbing choices of the previous homeowner, unclogged the drain, and did it all quite affordably. I highly recommend Free Flow Plumbing!

I had to call a real plumber to fix the problems they caused (which were on top of the initial issues we had). I would stay away.
Updated (I didn't know how to reply to a comment from the provider): Now you are saying I lied? I will amend my review from I would stay away to definitely stay away. If you can't take responsibility for your work then maybe you shouldn't be doing the work.

Nick saved the day , our toilets were clogged during an event and the team responded within an hour .

Our job was elective and non emergent involving the kitchen sink piping. John and Brian had to be pulled away from my job due to an emergency (which is a totally reasonable thing to do!). They showed back up at 630 after working 3.5 hours at this emergency and didn’t leave until 830 so I could have a functional kitchen sink. They could’ve made me wait until the morning but expressed concerns that they wouldn’t want to be left without their kitchen sink. Thank you Brian and John!

I called in the morning with a leaking outside faucet they were able to come over in the afternoon. They offered competent solutions for any problems they encountered. They are a little higher in price however they produce high quality work. I will call again if any other issues arise with my plumbing.

John and Josh really went the extra mile to get the work done on my bathroom. It was a remodel for us and wanted to make sure the work was done right. He was not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Worth EVERY penny. I had a vanity that was more than I bargained for and they got it installed and looking magnificent with the faucets, plumbing and toilet. THANK YOU for doing what you said you were going to do!

Charged me $83 for delta boots and spring kit. Should have done my own research to realize they are only $3.00 at local hardware stores, however trusted John as a professional when he did the job and that he had integrity.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this company is. We woke up on Christmas Day to a busted pipe behind our washing machine on our second floor which leaked to the first floor and basement. I was lucky to find this company online and within a couple of hours, Brian was out trying to locate the problem. He quickly found the problem and shut off the water to the pipes supplying the washing machine. Luckily we were able to then go on our trip to Disneyworld the next day. We returned on a Saturday and Brian came back on Monday to finish the job which allowed us to use our washing machine without any problems. We then decided to assure that the same problem would not happen again and Brian came out to our house with a couple of days and further insulated the pipe as well as fix some other minor plumbing issues, some of it free of charge.

I would highly recommend this company and Brian to others. They are courteous, professional, and quick to help.

The plumber I worked with should have provided more accurate information regarding the repair cost for a broken kitchen faucet handler.

Our drain has broken under the garage concrete. John's team has done a great job digging, replacing the water pipes, and covering the pipe with gravel.

Free flow plumbing did a super job in my basement. They replaced a leaky valve in the tightest of spaces; still not sure how John managed to do it. Super high quality work and competitive rates.

I had an extremely bad sewer backup in my basement about a year ago. John stayed late and worked very hard to clear the stoppage. It took about 3 hours (8pm to about 11) which was suprising, given the late hours. Any other plumber would have given up, but he stayed until the job was done. Would definitely recommend!

Free Flow Plumbing has been our go-to plumber for the past 4-5 years, and John has never let us down. He's always prompt, punctual, and professional. He has arrived for emergencies super quick, and is always helpful and friendly. His rates seem reasonable, and I trust him for all of our plumbing needs.

We had an old domestic water system that developed a leak. Brian Johnson and Nick Diodore were able to come out the same day as reported and repair the leak and remove the old system. What a relief! Gas company came out for reg gas meter check. Found small gas leak but it needed to be done right away b/c it was Friday and the gas co. doesn’t turn service back on during the weekend. John came out right away and turned this urgent repair into a non-issue in about 90 min. for a reasonable price. No gauging. Very grateful.

I was very satisfied with their work, I had a problem with the water pressure at the pipes and it caused loud sound in the pipes every time we used sinks or toilets, John was able to figure out problem quickly. Would definitely use again and recommend to friends and family.

We had been dealing with a number of plumbers trying to determine the cause of a sewer smell from our crawlspace. John was the only one who determined that our whole clay sewer line had failed. John then heroically worked for two days in the crawlspace to redo our entire line, fixing a number of other plumbing issues in the meantime. Definitely recommend Free Flow Plumbing..

On time, at budget, working clean, personable. Careful and considerate. Most professional plumber I have ever had make repairs....and I'm 68 so I've hired a few!

I was having some issues with my main sewer stack (100 yr old house, original clay and cast iron).

Took the time to explain to me what the issue likely was after trying to snake the drain, promptly scheduled and completed the work a few days later. The diagnosis was spot-on, they navigated my complicated sewer stack very well with the minimal intrusion and digging, and made a very-well executed repair.

It took the full day, but I'm incredibly pleased with the work and was happy to pay their reasonable rates.

Major repair: Stack had rotted out. They came out quickly and fixed it with a minimum of damage to the ancient tile wall behind the bad pipe. Then they cleaned up. And they were nice people, quick to understand what was wrong and good at explaining it. Hooray! Definite good recommendation for them!

Called to get an idea about replacing my leaking water main. John gave me a quote over the phone, was out here in an hour, and replaced the main in twenty minutes. On top of that, billed under quote. We even agreed that I could take the credit when I show my wife. He's our plumber now!

They were on time and quickly found the issue. They took the time to show me what happened and answer my questions. Their price was fair and the leak was fixed the first time. They were friendly.

Free Flow came out the next day to fix our garbage disposal problem, which was appreciated because we were unable to use our kitchen sink. The repairmen were friendly, professional, and punctual and luckily had a new disposal with them to replace our bad one immediately. The whole operation took maybe an hour, and the price was very reasonable. I would recommend Free Flow to anyone and will definitely call on them again should we have plumbing problems in the future.

Fast and a great job done

Talked about the problem with John and he was good to hear and made it safe for customer, surely will call back if needed.

John provided an estimate and followed-up as needed. He was in a minority of plumbers who understood what the problem actually was (back-flow from the city storm system) and provided a solution (installed a 6-inch backwater check valve).

The job was more complex than anticipated due to some perverse joining by the original nineteen-20s plumbers of sub-surface drain pipes, but was completed in a timely manner with no impact to the livability of the rest of the household.

Dust (read: jackhammer) on the job site was kept to a minimum, with concrete mixing done outside.

Only critique regards the two concrete patches applied are much rougher than the adjacent cellar floor (cement?) surfaces. I'll remediate myself or else just put some paint on and live with it.

Did a great job on our ancient plumbing during a bathroom remodel. Knows his stuff.

We have a basement drain backing up problem and Gabriel came on the other day. He first run a diagnosis, identified it was a clog in our kitchen line, then remove the clog. Trust-worthy guys.

I was refereed to Free Flow Plumbing and called last Friday. Spoke to John who said he would text me. Text never came.

Called back today and spoke to someone in the office. I shared our issue (leak from pipe) and was told that there would be a $125.00 service/diagnostic fee for the issue leak / location that I already shared. I asked if the fee would be credited back to the project and was told no.

If this isn’t the policy of the company then they should educate their employees better - if this is their policy it seems like a rip off.

I would NOT recommend you call upon this business for your plumbing needs.

After learning of a constant low level water leak I was referred to Free Flow.I called them at noon and Nick arrived by 3:30. I found him to be personable, skilled, experienced and knowledgeable. There were actually two seperate leaks in need of repair. Working until after six on a Friday night he both repairs completed by 6:30.
