Progressive Service Company

We had our dual air conditioning systems replaced last month by Progressive Service. The whole experience -- from our first call for an evaluation to find out why our power bill was way up, through the installation and even a service call -- has been fantastic. Responsiveness was very fast, I think one day for the evaluator (William Taylor) to come out after my call. He was straightforward and honest in his report, including several pictures of the bad news with our old systems. The sales rep (Darryl Boswell) was here the day after that, and gave us a great education on the different systems we could choose, benefits of each, and the cost. His 25+ years of experience, and how long he's been with Progressive, gave us a feeling of trust and confidence in both his advice and the company. And the final installation was done about 2 weeks after we ordered, and took two installers two full days. Communication was excellent, the installers were super friendly and did a great job keeping everything clean. Justin is the BEST! They put down protective cloths on the floors and stairs so as not to damage anything (pics attached). And when we had a problem with the units going into reverse defrost mode and blowing cold air into the house, we hade Justin out again the very same day that I called. Just a great experience overall.

Chad came out to represent Progressive SC. He was punctual, very personable, and straight to the point. I appreciate that. We tried to troubleshoot full house flickering of vanity lights and some canned lights. All LED. New home build (less than 2 yrs old). Checked main breaker, checked individual arc/GFI breakers. Individual breakers ran warm, they shouldn’t. Recommended replacement of breakers first, if problems persists, then try bulb replacements. If still continues, then it might be a neutral electrical line. Thorough, and professional. Never left any questions.

The technician never even looked for the leak. He said he would come back with another technician, cut a hole in the wall behind the washer and replace the plumbing for $1000. When we thought about this, we realized that that wasn’t even the wall where the leak was. The leak was coming from an abutting wall three feet from the back of the washer. We cut into that wall, found the leak and fixed the loose tub drain ourselves. It was never the shower fixture which we thought was the problem as the tenant said that they had recently replaced it. Would never recommend this company!!!

They showed (called first) about 1 hour prior to commitment. Very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. He explained what he was doing and what he had done. Outstanding total service and would easily recommend the technician and the company. Absolutely #1 in my books. Great job! Keep up the good work. Well done.

I was connected to Progressive through Costco*. My current system was almost 20 years old. I wanted to replace it proactively instead of reactively.
Scotty arrived on time and explained my options. He did not do any 'song and dance' or make 'unwritten promises' to get my business. Progressives upfront price was better than the competitions 'mangers today only price because he wants to help me out'. He responded timely to follow up questions.

Installation of system was scheduled quickly (2 days later). Installation Tech's were respectful of me and my property, kept me informed along the way. System was tested both air and heat prior to their departure.

* I ended up purchasing a different unit than the one that made me eligible for the Costco shop card. I'm thankful that Costco connected me to a great company.

The tech was prompt, courteous and personable. He did an excellent job of replacing a 24 year old refrigerator water line valve. However, the use of flat rate pricing and call out charge resulted in a $500 bill for 30 minutes of on site work.

I called Progressive on Wednesday and they scheduled me for an install on Friday at 9am.
Justin the tech called me 30mins prior to his arrival which I thought was really cool as lots of places just show up and you then can get lights on and dog put away if necessary etc..
Justin was by far the best tech installer I have had at my place in a while!
Courteous, professional, and took so much care to be clean and clean up after himself.
He double checked his work and the install went great.
This review was not for money or anything else - I want to write it as the company and Justin did a great job and they deserve it!

Our plumbers were amazing! Another company left us without water over the weekend after a repair job went wrong. We called Progressive around 7 pm on a Friday night and they had someone at our home within 20 minutes. I wish I’d gotten both guy’s names because they could not have been nicer. They started digging to get to our plumbing line around 8:30 pm and worked until 11 pm to make sure our water was able to be turned back on ? So far everything is working perfectly. 10/10 would recommend!

Called company to inquire about their service due to needing toilet set as we recently replaced flooring. The initial call was handled very well by the lady that answered. I was lucky that a plumber could be out in under an hr considering this was on Friday.
Ethan came out & while the price was IMO excessive, he was very kind & professional and explained what needed to be done to make the fix. I do not normally write reviews, but felt this employee needed to be recognized for his work as well as the company for their prompt response.
I would’ve easily have given 5 stars and believe that had the price not be as high as it was, this is a company I would call again to have in my home. Shoutout again to Ethan for being as honest & performed the work as explained. Great company to do business with.

Everyone at Progressive Service Company was very nice and very responsive. They are always so willing to help, respond to work orders very quickly, and their rates are quite competitive. I will definitely keep doing business with them as long as I'm able to.

Mr Shane did an awesome job. This has been the quickest install from calling the 800 number to getting dispatched to arrival and troubleshooting. All took no more than 4 hours. I waited for another company Proven Profesional Construction to come out they did but was taking them 1 week and a half to do the install. I will truly recommend Progressive for the 5 star service they gave me. I will always use you.

I used Progressive for electrical repairs. When I made the appointment I asked if they had the basics, such as switches, outlets, electrical boxes and plates on their trucks and I was told they did. When the electrician arrived he had none of these items and had to leave to shop for these basics. After completing what I had asked he told me I had a faulty switch, presented me with the bill and left. He did not offer to fix the faulty switch since he had none and it would have required another trip to the store. So after the visit I was left to buy and install a switch myself. I would not use again.

I had called in to schedule an AC tune up trying to use their promotion. After going specifically what the tech would do towards this service. The office explained it would cover cleaning coils, and also clean the water drain line. The tech showed up and out-rightly declined any of these cleanings. I informed him to circle back with the office and his work order it should have clear instructions regarding my expectations. He informed he was only gonna check for pressures and run a check to find out what else is required for the system and if it needs any repairs, he would quote.. Similar to a 30 point check you get when you take your car for an oil change. I had to ask the tech to leave without wasting his or my time. A total waste of time...

James always does excellent work. I have a 57 y/o house that needs some service over the years. James did a major Kitchen drain line repair last year and did outstanding work. Always glad to see him when he arrives.

My new AC unit installed in March died! If I had it fixed today (Saturday) I was going to be charged an extra $200. I am not happy about this. Also I never got follow up from installation. A grill that was to be installed in downstairs was never installed. Supposed to have been included in original cost. I work at Home Depot in Knightdale. I have referred you to many people over ARS. Now my faith has been shaken as to whether I made a good choice. Little things on the original work was never addressed. Hopefully on Monday they will be

Annual heating system inspection - I was very pleased with Robert’s experience and how capable he was. He hooked up my humidifier which I thought was already operational. Robert is a credit to Progressive Services!!

We needed an hvac inspection right away after our home had a tree fall during a recent storm. They came out on the same day and Robert M. was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We will definitely use Progressive again!

Michael, from Progressive, was very organized and fast. Did a good job installing three toilets, removing the old ones of course, and left things very clean before he left. Would recommend the company's work quality and professionalism of employees, though the company did mess up on the original install date by not scheduling a helper for Michael so he could finish the job the same day. He had to install one of the toilets that day and come back again another day once he had a helper. Would have also been nice if the company had updated me that he was delayed the first day rather than me calling in multiple times to check status. Wasted half a day as a result just waiting. I do appreciate them being very responsive whenever I called, though. If I didn't have time constraints that threw off my moving plans, those delays would not have mattered, but as it stands, it did throw off a few other things in my schedule of moving into a newly bought place. Good workmanship though, hence the 4 stars.

On Friday July 29 our A/C stopped working and we called Progressive Service. They have been our HVAC company for 10 years and we have always felt that they were fair and trustworthy.
The service man arrived at 9:30 AM and spent 1 1/2 hours and diagnosed the problem as ants getting into the contactor and causing a short circuit'. He replaced the contactor and said the charge would be around $800. I then asked to see the replaced part and he brought the part to me. The contact or is made from hard plastic with metal screw terminals. This part looked almost brand-new and showed no signs of ant invasion or scorch marks of short circuit. I questioned his explanation but he stuck to his story about ants . He told me that the replacement part would cost me about $700. The exact same part would cost me $8.99 on Amazon.
I have requested a copy of the invoice but have not received one yet.
I feel that a mark-up of 7800 % for this part to be outrageous and unethical and I will no longer deal with your company . I will also make sure that all my fiends are warned about your unethical practices.

Our solar water heater (circulating fluid to heat water) was not working. The system uses prop. glycol as heating fluid and it took them a while to get some for our system. They came and changed the fluid and also found a sensor that was not working. The service personnel were prompt (once the appointment was made) and professional. System works well now and I would recommend them especially for this specialized service.

Progressive would not honor an active warranty that we have on a HVAC system that they installed. Instead of assisting with a simple repair, they used bait-and-switch tactics to try to sell us an entirely new HVAC unit. They even went so far as to tell us that: (1) our warranty was not valid, (2) upon recognizing the valid warranty, they quoted a repair at 400% the normal repair cost. Sadly, I had previously recommended this company to friends and neighbors in the past, Now I am forced to tell numerous people to avoid using this company.

Marcus was very professional. We live in Creedmoor and needed someone to test our water for toxins. Marcus did a thorough examination and provided metrics to show that the water was in good standing. In addition to the metrics, he provided guidance based on his experience and sent documents we could review for further consideration. Marcus also went above and beyond what was required because we forgot to ask him to look at our water heater before he left. So, we called the main office 10mins after he left to see if he had time to return. He returned and did a thorough investigation of the water heater and stayed for an additional 15mins explaining to my fiancee what he (Marcus) had found and the recommendations to follow. Extremely pleased with Marcus' service and we feel educated enough to make a decision on how to ensure we have the best water quality for our home. We will utilize Progressive's service once we decide.

Ethan was prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly, and I would recommend Progressive Service with no reservation. They were able to come out for same day water heater installation when my water heater busted suddenly - they saved the day!

Older sink with a leaky faucet. Tech came in and diagnosed the issue quickly and made the repair. Very saticfied with the services provided.

The visit was for an initial assessment coordinated through Lowe's. Jeff, Progressive's Service Technician called 30 minutes prior to his anticipated time of arrival. and showed up as estimated. Following his assessment of our water heater, he communicated the nature of the problem, and responded clearly to my request for options to resolve the problem to include providing cost estimates for the various options and a timeline to complete the job. Based on his professionalism and courtesy I was able to make an informed decision based on the availability of the equipment that would meet our needs. Ultimately, we elected to have Progressive complete the work.

Bought a faucet at Home Depot and paid for installation. Progressive was who they sent. The service person was on time, knowledgeable, personable and professional. In these days this was a breath of fresh air. I liked him so well I asked for his company card in case we needed a plumber again

When my water heater gave out this company was very responsive to my request for service. A technician came out in a timely manner, went over my options, and worked with me and my schedule to get the heater replaced quickly.

They also performed solar hot water system repair. The technician was knowledgeable and did good work. The communication with the administration end of it was a bit confusing and in the end I had to ask for the receipts for the payments made.

Michael was incredibly professional on site. He called and asked if it was okay if he was EARLY to the job site! We expected this job to take much longer, but with Michael the job was done very quickly and thoroughly. Would recommend to anyone looking for good quality work.

My experience with Progressive Plumbing was Great from start to finish. The dispatcher was very nice, and the plumbing technician was the Best! Justin was very knowledgeable. The problem was solved in no time. I would would definitely recommend Justin and Progressive Plumbing .

I was confirmed an Appointment on Monday 3/28 with Jeff between 8AM and 10 AM. . At 11:0 AM I was advised that they were running late due to an emergency. They arrived at 2 PM. and it was not Jeff. I later asked the two Plumbers when they were due at my house . They said 1 PM which was later changed to 3 Pm. The work was done but I thought the $50 charge was too expensive. My prior experience not been satisfactory as I had a water Heater pump that did not work and then the Plumber who installed the second one was not familiar with it and it took two more visits to get it correctly functioning.

Marcus Carter was absolutely amazing-he showed up promptly for an emergency call and quickly diagnosed the problem. He cleared our main sewage line without needing to resort to any drastic measures and gave us helpful tips for how to prevent another clog in the future. We will be calling him for any plumbing issues in the future.

Rivers arrived promptly and evaluated the leak in our master bathroom lavatory. After discussing the issue with him, we decided to order two new Delta faucets so they would match. We have an appointment for him to return and install both faucets. Rivers have us an estimate for the labor and was very helpful in recommending replacements. He was courteous, respectful and highly professional. We continue to be pleased with Progressive for our plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance and repairs.

Shane was frieny and knoedgable. He fixed the minor toilet leak swiftly.
The big job was to replace the RO water system at our kitchen sink. We had pre-purchased the RO system. He removed our previous 6 yr old system and insed the new one. He had a concern that the new one ight have a leak. We will monitor that. He left after 2hr 10 min total. Nice guy.

I have been using Progressive more and more as they generally don't try to add on a bunch of additional items or charge a fortune. Unfortunately this was the first time both of these happened. Like all of these businesses, the repair people appear friendly and sociable but the lack of transparency in pricing continues and you never know if you actually need the service or if the price was fair. For now my issue seems to be fixed with out the suggest add on (one that has never been mentioned in the 15+ years I've lived here) so I guess that is a plus but I will be trying someone else for plumbing.

Progressive provided information and an estimate on hvac equipment and installation. They did an excellent job. The job was delivered and installed on time.

We hired Progressive to fix a gas leak and install a new electric water heater with an expansion tank in our crawl space. Brandon worked alone and did both jobs in about 4 hours (despite having a migraine). Unfortunately, when the gas co turned on the gas the leak was worse than before. The gas co tech said that an air pressure test should be done whenever a gas line repair is made. Brandon had not tested the gas line and when notified of the leak offered to repair it but said that an air pressure test would be an additional cost. We decided to have him complete the repair and we would pay the gas co to test the line. When Brandon arrived he said he would do the air test at no extra charge. So after 6 days the gas line was finally fixed. Overall we're satisfied but wish the test had been done after the initial repair, avoiding delays and a few anxious days of waiting and deciding what to do next. We are grateful to Brandon for upgrading the water heater to the brand we wanted at no extra charge and for doing a great job installing it by himself. However, it's unlikely we would use Progressive again because there were several communication issues between us and the office and between Brandon and the office.

This was only an estimate. The only reason I have not used this service as of yet is simply because I am waiting to receive two more estimates before making a decision. However, Michael was spot on, very knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and did not seem to mind answering questions and giving explanations as to the costs involved. Kudos

LOOK NO FURTHER! We were unsure if a water heater replacement was even necessary. Brandon provided an honest, practical assessment. He actually gave us MORE reasons NOT to hire him - and his biggest concern was us feeling like we'd been pushed one way or the other. His insight enabled us to make an informed decision. Once we requested a replacement, he was communicative, careful, and COVID-safe as he took care of it in just a few hours. We are TOTALLY satisfied, and relieved, that we have the right product in our home.

Justin worked really hard under difficult conditions to help us with our water heater warranty and installation. He went over and above to get our system replaced.

A UV light bulb was installed in the HVAC system to reduce the bug activity in the system (the idea was good) but the price charged of one bulb installation, $500+taxes (whereas the bulb cost is around $100 and 30 minutes of labor for installation) was a rip-off of a senior citizen.

The technician repaired a module on my generator. He was friendly, and courteous timely, knowledgeable and corrected the previous problem.

Good quality equipment. Generally good installation. A ductwork and drain line deficiency were corrected. The drain line was installed without an elbow outside. An elbow would prevent blowing grass cuttings into the pipe and pluging the pipe.

Did not go over how to drain it...does not seem like hose will go on because of the way water heater was placed.....I really wanted my old water heater removed....but he seem liked he really did not want to do it ....so it was drained..and left in attic...so eventually...I will have to find a way to get it out myself.....
