We called Horizon because of their same day service guarantee… it took them two days to come out and when the tech came out he quoted us repairs that would be almost as much as a new unit. They then tried to sell us a new unit. I called another company and they did the repair for much cheaper…

We’re thrilled w/ Horizon Services! We needed our entire 20 year old HVAC replaced (3 units). We interviewed & received quotes from 3 companies & Horizon’s quote, service offering, education about the services, timeframe, HVAC units, & warranties far exceeded the other 2 companies. Our sales rep Dustin was very patient w/ all our questions, & he helped us come up w/ a reconfiguration that would allow us to take our units from 3 down to 2 which no other company thought of despite us asking if it was possible. This made us trust Horizon & made us feel good about spending so much $$ w/ them.
We accepted Horizon’s offer on Friday & by Monday they were installing our units. The project took 2 crews. They were quick, friendly, professional, did a great job cleaning up, & completed the whole thing in 1 day just as they promised. E/ of the 3 lead installers, Chip, Ian, & Frankie made sure we were satisfied w/ the work & ensured we knew how all the systems worked.

Highly recommend Horizon services. Excellent experience they came out the same day I called. The technician Jermaine arrived on time was very knowledgeable and friendly. He had my ac back up and running in no time. The communication was excellent letting me know when to expect the technician and the pricing was fair. I won't hesitate to call them in the future should I need help with the services they offer.
Kevin and Kyle did an exceptional job with the removal of an old chandelier and the installation of a new chandelier in my 2 story foyer. They were so professional and considerate. The attention to detail and customer service was so refreshing. I will definitely use Horizon again for future air conditioning and heating services.

The plumber went the extra mile to cap off our leaky shower valve as an emergency service until a full repair could be performed the next day. If he had not capped off those pipes we would've gone the night without water. Great attitude and excellent work.
Office staff was very nice and was able to have JJ come right away to our home when our A/C went out. JJ arrived on time and was very efficent on locating our A/C issues. He explained our issues very professionally to where I was able to understand the issue and was able to get our A/C back up and operational. Sadly our unit is out of date and JJ suggested we invest in a newer model. So, then we spoke with Mr. Snell who also arrived on time and was very efficentwas and was able to come in and explained more in depth of our Air Unit and the issues that were involved. He worked with us on finding the best deal for our budget. Mr. Snell explained all the values of a new unit would provide for us and was able to quickly get us on their schedule to install our new unit. So happy can't wait to join the Horizon family with our new unit. Highly recommend this company. The team came out and installed our new unit. They were very efficient with their work, worked well with each other and was able to get the unit installed quickly so our home didn’t get to hot. Overall very satisfied with this company. Also, excited that I shouldn’t have anymore unit issues. Which is always a plus. 5 starts just isn’t enough 10/10 recommend.
I was very pleased with the response and thoroughness of the HVAC tune-up services I received from Horizon. Easy scheduling, fair price and solid communication leading up to the technician arriving. I have 2 older units that have served us well and this was the first time using Horizon. A big shout out to JJ Jackson - very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Outfitted with great technology and I received the full report, pics and recommendations via email after he reviewed his findings with me. I will see them again in the fall as the systems are prepared for the heating season.
I made my appointment online. Within a few minutes I received a confirmation text and email. When the technician was in route, I was called, texted their name and emailed as well. Unfortunately the repair needed a second set of hands/eyes. Once again the information of the additional tech was sent immediately.

Technician showed up on time for tuneup. gave detailed information on the current status of the HVAC systems and provided recommendations. price was reasonable as well.
We've been having multiple problems with our toilet. Justin is so knowledgeable he was able to make a better assessment and solution than a previous plumber. Hopefully we'll never have another issue with any plumbing, but we'll call him first!

Ricky & Justin Gloss installed a dishwasher for me that Home Depot refused to install due to piping under sink needing repair. Both guys came and looked at plumbing and said absolutely no problem with your plumbing. HD refused to come back and install! I call Horizon back and Ricky & Justin fit me back into schedule late afternoon. They were awesome! Took care of everything I needed with my dishwasher. Horizon is my go to anyway and these two did not disappoint! They are out of Raleigh, NC office.
I reached out to Horizon Services after our AC stopped working. I had a service subscription with another HVAC company and they advised the earliest available date for an appointment was four days out. Horizon Services were able to schedule a same day service call. Our technician, Riad arrived on time and provided exceptional service. He answered all of my questions, quickly identified the problem, and was able to complete the repair quickly and efficiently. I received a recap of the visit and repair (including pictures) via email. Thanks to Riad, I am now a Horizon Services customer!

My AC broke and I called Angie’s list who referred to this company. The very next morning I had this company service my a/c when I had others wanting to come two days later. I have kids and having the a/c repaired quick was imperative. Michael was honest, quick to diagnose and solved the problem in less than an hour. I had a wonderful experience.

This team arrived when they said they would and were very professional. They replaced our existing gas pack and upstairs ac and furnace. They explained all of the work they were doing and kept me updated throughout the process. These guys were very thorough and showed me everything they had done once they were completed. The Horizon Services technicians were very skilled, fast, efficient and completed all servicing and updating equipment like surgeons. They were friendly but but business-like, and did an excellent job. I’m very pleased with this company and the excellent technicians.
Very professional and knowledgeable service! Had a tricky problem and the service tech took the time to inspect and test everything to get it right. Yes AC repair can seem expensive, but I would happily pay what it costs and receive great, reliable service. This type of work is not the kind you want corners cut or test your DIY skills on. As the saying goes: you got good, cheap or quick and you can only pick two.

My air went out and it was 95 degrees out and 87 inside. My family and I were miserable I called Horizon and was able to get a same day appointment. Tim the tech that came out was great. He was able to answer all my questions and knew exactly what to do to get my AC unit working. Tim was friendly, professional, and I am very pleased with his work. Before leaving he made sure that everything was working properly and showed me pictures of everything and explained the problem. I would definitely recommend

First off, Horizon got here faster than anyone else could, by several days. That alone is worth a fair amount when your A/C is dead and it's the middle of a heat wave. JJ was the tech and he was great - professional, thorough, all the things. The repair was by no means cheap, but he was there a solid 90 minutes to get it done and showed me pictures and readings of everything he checked. I would recommend them and will be using them again for my ongoing service needs.
The company is very responsive and professional, the technician Alex arrived on time wearing mask and glove. He patiently explained what he found to me and made very professional recommendations. Definitely top notch service and will recommend to friends.

our technician, JJ, was fantastic. he worked diligently, and this was no small feat. our unit kept him there for multiple hours and even required an additional big guns to stop by. JJ went above and beyond in helping diagnose our broken AC. the dispatch team at Horizon is very courteous as well. JJ was transparent in his suggestions going forward as well. it would be around 6500 to repair now; unit is nearing end of lifecycle; i asked what new unit runs (comparable to what we have currently); after the math, i concluded better to replace rather than repair (then replace soon enough). JJ connected me with dispatch to set up a next-day appt to discuss a new unit.
our sales rep, stephen was very knowledgeable and went through every option available that would match with our working furnace and what would get us the best SEER bang for our buck. no pushy tactics at all.
a couple days later, our install team, Ian, Deonte, and Elton were very professional, knowledgeable and personable. They walked both my husband and i through everything that was done and cleaned up after themselves. TY!!
I called Horizon to diagnose my A/C system after it stopped working (no cool air). The service person was friendly and professional. My problem is with the quote to repair. Without going into all the details I had a problem with my outside unit. The cost to repair (not replace) was quoted at almost $8,000. I was also immediately drawn into a discussion about replacing my entire system and was scheduled to have a sales person come out that same day.
I got two second opinions from other A/C service companies about the repair. I was told the original quote was excessive and that the repair would be around $3000.
In my opinion Horizon gave me an excessively high quote in order to attempt to sale me a new A/C system. Ironically I chose to replace my system, but could no longer do business with Horizon and went with another company. I would not recommend doing business with them.
Update: Horizon customer service reached out to me and refunded the service fee I was charged as I was not completely satisfied. They also attempted to explain the pricing differences between their company and others. I appreciate the effort they made in this regard. Thanks.
So I just had them at my house on 6-11-22. The tech that came was AMAZING. He was what you wanted to see in a tech coming to your house. Now for the rest of the visit. First off they charged me a $25 fuel surcharge and I believe $85 or $89 for a service call fee (no issue on the service call fee) but the lady who actually setup the tech told me that if I got the service done I wouldn’t be charged the service call fee. That’s what made me say ok let’s do it. So Mike the tech comes over and it’s my capacitor that’s bad. I looked up the cost of a capacitor beforehand because some friends said it sounded like the problem and that it was a common and inexpensive problem to fix if I do it myself. They ranged from $9-$20. After it was all said and done my quote was around $602 that didn’t include the fuel and service charge fee which would have made it well over $700. I explained to Mike about the conversation with the scheduler so he called his boss and after awhile it was handled. They took off the service charge fee. Not that it was Mikes fault but you would think that that was common practice the way she through it out there but he was clueless to it. By the way Mike was as professional as they come. So we’re going over the quote and there cost for this $20 capacitor was $495! Yes! I said the capacitor was $495. I immediately got upset and explained to Mike that I was not paying that kinda money for a $20 part and that it was troubling to me that a company would up charge that much. I told Mike that I would never ever consider using Horizon again nor would I recommend them to anybody. I ordered the part from Amazon and plan on switching it out myself. I wish I could leave no stars because that’s the how bad they were. I left a picture of the part that needed replacing.
I made an online request for service this morning, and they were here within 6 hours. They would have been here sooner, but I missed their call offering an earlier time. On top of that, the service specialist, Riad, was very knowledgable, professional and saved me some money by narrowing down the problem to one of two things and determined the cheaper option was what we needed. I will definitely call Horizon the next time I need HVAC services.

We've been using these guys since they were Phillips Air Care and they have always done right by us. Their techs have been professional, the service has been done right the first time and priced honestly. No complaints whatsoever.
Sean arrived on time and was very prompt in fixing the unit. He also suggested a maintenance plan to save me some money in future routine check ups. I would highly recommend them! The cost was reasonable as well!
Let me start off by saying that Michael (the service tech) was great. He was on time, very knowledgeable, and very pleasant to deal with. We are pretty new to the area and had no idea who to call for our HVAC servicing, so we took a chance on Horizon and have so far been very pleased.
What we initially planned as being a tune up and cleaning ended up as a replacement (that wasn’t a huge surprise though as the units were nearly 20 years old), but the options and pricing we received were surprisingly fair and we have none of the concerns or second thoughts that usually accompany major repair purchases like this.
I’ll definitely recommend them.
Update: We just had our new system installed (only a few days after our initial contact with Horizon) and they continued to impress. The crew arrived on time and immediately and efficiently started to tackle this large project. They were all extremely easy to deal with and it was clear that they worked well together. I wanted to provide this update to voice that the professionalism continued beyond the initial visits and throughout the entire project.
8/16/23 update...
System has been working great. Our energy bills now indicate that we use less energy than efficient homes are using in our area.
We did have to call for a service on our new AC unit, which wasn't working when we got home from work last night. Horizon (Mike Simmons) came out to resolve the issue (related to storm power surges) before 2pm the next day and everything appears to be working well once again.
We have received nothing but good service fron Horizon so far!

$500 for a capacitor replacement is robbery. You can get the part for $30 and it takes max 10 min to change it. Oh, and + $89 service charge and you dare to charge $25 more for fuel... Just call anybody else!
Our technician was very knowledgeable and kept us informed of the issues, and all our future options. He patiently answered all our questions. The promo included free refrigerant which was what our AC needed. He worked for nearly 3 hrs outside, in the heat, on 2 units and remained cheerful. We’ll definitely use this business for our winter HVAC maintenance and any future HVAC needs. The price we paid to service 2 units was surprisingly low.
Just an honest review of the service and costs. I had them come out and check my AC which is having trouble cooling. First off the service and the technician that came out was great. He was happy to discuss the issues and options I had to repair. He's the reason I gave two stars instead of one. He said the issues were the filter dryer and compressor. Cost to repair just the filter dryer was $2700, Compressor was $6000. Just got a quote for $860 to replace the filter dryer from another very well established local company. From what I can tell this company is a franchise that just opened up in Raleigh, likely have higher overhead costs, but 3x the market rate is unacceptable.

Recently hired Horizon services (8/19) for a capacitor replacement, a tech came out within 2 hours of calling but I ended up spending 710 dollars for a capacitor. I paid it because it was essential to get my air back on as we have an infant. The tech was great but the service was extremely overpriced. I’ve since received quotes for half the price and feel like I’ve been duped. Hire someone else if you can

I received a text that Helal was on his way at 6:30 this morning. Helal and Donte arrived early and got started on tearing out the old system. Ian arrived slightly later with the new equipment and all 3 of the guys worked professionally and diligently to get the new system installed. The guys were very professional and courteous. Great 1 day turnaround thanks to our sales guy Dustin and GM Stephen coming together to help me get a good deal and the installers for their efforts. Matt, Jeremiah and Audric did a wonderful job. They were respectful, and thorough with the information explaining what needed to be done to fix the problem we were having. Thank God for people who do their jobs the right way.

Same as a lot of other users. Very punctual came next day to perform service. Wanted to charge me $495 to change a capacitor. I needed three changing apparently so over $1500 with tax. Pretty good mark up for a part you can source off Amazon for less than $20 and probably takes 10mknute max to install. Feel bad for folks who pay this and I am sure plenty have.
Fantastic company. Service techs, sales techs, and installation techs great group to work with. Awesome experience with the team Mike, Stephen, Ian, Deonte, and Halal. Nothing but praise for the company happy I choose to go with them.

Had sewer line backup due to roots in pipe. Called Schwartz plumbing which is now Horizon and they showed up 30 minutes later! I was pleased with the quick response. They got to work immediately trying to identify the cause of the backup and where the clog was. It was a big job. They temporarily fixed the problem and scheduled a day for them to come back and complete the job of digging up driveway to repair and replace pipe and then repair driveway. Brian, Tommy and Thomas were professional and responsive. They answered all of my questions. Brian came back on Sunday, his day off, just to check on work as it had rained on the concrete the day they poured it. Also Thomas came back a few days later to touch up the concrete and make sure it was professionally done. He also replaced a part in toilet. I spoke to a few people at Horizon on the phone and they were all pleasant and professional. They always sent texts and emails to me when the guys were on the way to my house. I feel like I really lucked out when I found them on the internet and called them the day of the backup. Now I have a plumbing and hvac company to use if I have future issues. Will definitely recommend them to friends!

I used them for my air conditioning maintenance. They were very professional and gave me tips on how to maintain the system and do and donts. They also recommended me with few things to make sure my system remains functional for long period of time. I highly recommend them for any service you need.

Initially, the installation was done quickly after the sales call and it went well - and the new AC unit worked. That's when the honeymoon ended.
A couple months passed and it was time to turn on my heat. When I did, I began to smell tons of gas. I initially blew it off as the first time I started the unit for fall. After a couple of days, I called the gas company to test. The technician walked in the door and almost immediately walked out bc he said he was overwhelmed by fumes. He brought in a meter and the carbon monoxide was well over the normal limit and into the highly dangerous zone. Once the house aired out, he went into the basement where the AC unit lived beside the furnace. He found that the AC installer had completely left the exhaust pipe for the furnace detached so that all of the exhaust fumes were flowing back into the basement and into the home. We could have died.
I called into Horizon. They sent a tech same day, who was the same installer who installed the unit. He said, Omg, I saw the pics and I thought I was going to be fired. I never sent pics, but after installation, they take pics. I'm assuming he went back to review those pics. He gave me five free carbon monoxide detectors.
He fixed the exhaust. Then I asked Horizon for a copy of my city permit, which they applied for, but never actually got. So, but for the fact that I requested a copy... the AC unit would not have been permitted. They said they would send an inspector to come do a pre-inspection before the city inspector arrived. They did. He left. After he left, the unit didn't work. I called them. He couldn't come back that day. The next morning, the city inspector came and failed the permit bc the unit didn't work. He also said Horizon had never installed the MANDATORY safety feature such that if water is detected in the AC pan, the unit would shut off. So he said it would fail for that too. The pre-inspector didn't catch that. A whole series of rescheduled appointments followed. TOTAL NIGHTMARE.
What started as a pleasant, quick exchange quickly become one of the comically worse customer service experiences I've ever had. I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend this company to anyone.

Joe was the technician and did an excellent job! He removed/replaced a toilet.
Very impressed. Our A/C system had been struggling during the summer and we thought it might be low on coolant or perhaps the compressor was not working up to par. The service person (Tom) came on time and thoroughly checked things out. Unfortunately for us, the system checked out A-OK and there was no work to perform. When we asked to settle the bill, we were amazed that there was no charge -- not even a trip or service call fee. We were quite impressed with Horizon's policy. Will definitely call Horizon the next time something else goes wrong.

They do not provide a phone number for the office manager to resolve issues. I left a request for a return call and it has not been returned for 12 days. The sales representative is no longer answering her phone or responding to email.

These guys installed our system two weeks ago. They are people of their word. They are a new company down here. They price matched and installed next day. There was a accident to our ceiling. I called Bobby the insulation Manger who sent some one to repair it like it never happend 3 days later. Raleigh inspector came out and said our of the 7 years of inspecting his has done in hundreds of houses the work they did in my home was very clean professional. With the standard being below average to pass these guys went over and beyond. Also. They give a 10 year warranty can't beat that any where. Look no further hire these guys ac works great after we were informed our ac unit was not big enough. They caught the mistake made by our builders. Hire horizon you won't regret it.

Our air conditioner started acting up - alternately blowing warm then cold air - during the hottest week of the year. I made an appointment for the following morning and the serviceman showed up right on time. He had everything he needed to diagnose and fix the problem.
He took multiple pictures of the AC system, both inside and out, and we discussed each one at length. He then e-mailed them to me so that I'd have them for future needs.
He offered me 3 different repair options - good, better, best - and we were able to discuss the pros and cons of each option so that I could make an informed decision.
The AC works great now and the cost of repair was reasonable. I also really appreciated how much time he spent with me to discuss the state of my HVAC unit.

Timothy performed an overall check of my recently installed HVAC system, after taking the time to thoroughly understand my issue. He demonstrated how my thermostat works so that I am now able to understand how to use it to suit my needs. In the process, he took pictures of all the heating system equipment that is in my attic, and provided a thorough explanation of how it all works. I was thoroughly educated and now I am comfortable using my fancy new thermostat to maintain the temperature in my home, which is so important with all the fluctuations we are experiencing in the weather. Timothy is the type of professional I appreciate because he was knowledgeable and personable too, and his communication style made it so easy for me to express myself without feeling self-conscious about my lack of knowledge. Like many, the recent heat wave exposed to me that my AC unit was not working well. First noticed it on a Saturday after coming home from vacation. The following Sunday morning, I tried calling several places and got weekend answering services, with few callbacks. But Horizon’s online booking was easy and it quickly let me know I had an appointment for that same day. Anthony, our service pro, was friendly, communicative and professional. He did a great job and got the unit back up and cooling down quickly. We were grateful for a relatively quick/easy fix, but I would have trusted them to do more involved work as well! I will use them for future HVAC repairs!
Edit: Turns out we did need them for more involved work! The unit did not hold a charge, so I enlisted them to install a new one. They turned the job around quickly, doing the install on a Saturday, having worked with me on sizing, pricing and financing. The team (Bobby, Chip and Gavin) were friendly, professional, fast and they explained the new system/thermostat very clearly. And my upstairs is now cool once again!

They do a very good job with following up on their maintenance. You don’t have to call and remind them they are on top of it. The technicians are very friendly and knowledgeable. For the services that I have gotten done the prices seem to be reasonable.
Anthony came in on a few hours' notice on a Sunday when our A/C stopped working. He had the unit up and running in less than thirty minutes and was a pleasure to work with. He also changed the air filters for us without us even asking. He was polite, professional, and efficient!
The repair people are always very respectful of my home, they show us how to troubleshoot and always are very pleasant. Great employees!!
