Our evaporative cooler broke and it was way oversized so replacing it wasn't gonna be easy or cheap. Mario helped us explore our options and when we decided to switch to ac he went with what was most cost effective without sacrificing the needs to cool or heat our house. After the installation was complete I can't express how pleased we are with the job and services performed by them and we do recommend them over the big names like wagner and tlc

Timely; came when they said they would; took care of leaky faucets and repaired pipe leak; tidy; very satisfied with service; they are my go to plumbers even though they are not the cheapest in town.

We requested an estimate for the replacement of our furnace on 11/26/2018. Shawn Kukowski arrived and inspected the existing furnace and proceded to take measurements and made notes of all the area surrounding the furnace.

He made a proposal of three furnaces and explained in detail what would be done in a very expert way. I am impressed with his expertise and willing to offer many additional perks such as 10 year parts and labor, and one year maintenance.

We, however decided to replace the circuit board since the furnace is only 10 years old. The circuit board was replaced today, 11/26/2018.

We called for service on a clogged bathroom drain. They were able to send a technician out right away. Brad was able to quickly diagnose the problem (roots) and he was able to resolve the blockage in a just a few minutes. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. AC went out at 1 pm and they had a tech, Sean, come out before 5. Had to reschedule due to rain, but first thing Monday morning Sean was here and had us running quickly. He gave us all our options for the repair, gave a quote before starting work, and even came back the next day to adjust the float. Great experience and we'll be using them again for sure.

I have used Desert Suns to replace my furnace, hot water heater and a/c unit. Each time I have called, Eric has come to do an inspection and then offered me a couple of different options to decide what would work best. Never any HIGH pressure sales tactics. Desert Suns installed my new HVAC system two years ago. Had a problem with wiring last week and they sent repairman out same day. He found two problems and was able to fix one. He called the electrician who came out next day and fixed the second problem. Great customer service at a fair price! Thanks!!

We had 2 new evaporative coolers installed which required removing the old ones from the roof and installing new ones. There was a glitch with the voltage wiring for the thermostats but the problem was solved successfully. We had a complicated time line that required roof repair in between the removal and the new install and they were able to schedule that very well. David, Jake and Brad were a joy to work with and answered my many questions.

Great job!! Ran into Sean while out doing my job and talked a little about the troubles I was having with my ac unit. Was promptly set up for an initial diagnostic service for a 9a-12p arrival. Sean was here at 9 on the dot ( I was late after dropping the kiddo at school), he waited 15 minutes.
His demeanor was awesome. As a result of waiting and an awesome work ethic/attitude he won me over. Couple hours later (he took his time, was thorough and explained everything) I had ice cold a/c and am annual maintenance agreement for summer and winter. Well done all, could not be happier. We called around for several quotes and First rate was quick and responsive! We got an appointment for an estimate quickly and our salesman Mario Martinez was on time and touched base to confirm our appointment and to let us know when he was on the way. Mario was extremely knowledgeable, professional and detail oriented. Mario did the most detail inspection compaired to the other companies, for our quote which allowed for the most accurate pricing. I felt confident when we received a quote. Our install was amazing. They were on time quick, and detailed. Mario went above and beyond to check in on the whole process. My experience with everyone from scheduling, quote and install has guaranteed them my future business. I will recommend them to my friends and family. We choose a breezeair system to cool our home and it was the best investment in our home.

This company is incompetent at best and unscrupulous at worst. The guy who quoted me wouldn't itemize the list of products so I could actually see what the price was and then botched the calculations at least twice so that the system was going to cost more than originally quoted. When I drew his attention to it, rather than owning up to the mistake and attempting to do the deal he told me we couldn't do business together.

The service person was very nice person. Quit friendly and he was professional. I like friendly. He gave us alot of information on how to keep our drains and pipes running freely.

David Long and his team did a fantastic job with a new central heat, air, and a humidifier for us and removing old malfunctioning equipment. Team was very professional and willing to answer all of our questions. It was a challenging job but they still were able to finish the whole thing in a very brief time. It was impressive! Our sales contact Mario Martinez was also very helpful in helping us understand what we needed and getting all the paperwork in order to make it happen!

These guys are amazing and have superior customer service. I had many questions about the tankless water heater we were having installed due to my other water heater constantly having issues. Not only did the technician David (who does amazing work and is a perfectionist) answer my questions but they also had the owner contact me directly and answer and other questions I had that the technician may have not had answers to, such as pricing. They treat you as if they have known you for years. They do not treat you as if you are just a paycheck. They legitimately care about your concerns and needs. To the people who leave bad reviews, maybe you should contact the company and voice your concerns before ruining their reputation on google. I know from experience and multiple visits that this company is all about customer service and being hands on, including the owners of the company.

We have been using Desert Suns/First Rate for years. Recently, we decided to invest in a mini-split to help heat/cool a stubborn bedroom that never cooled down in the summer and was always cold in the winter. I always do my research and get multiple quotes before I select any company (even if I’ve used them before). I’m not always impressed with the lowest price, however I tend to focus on the overall value. Quality matters. I checked multiple companies for this project and am so impressed with First Rate. From the ease of scheduling with their friendly reminders, to their professional sales team who worked with us to determine the best solution for our system, to their expert installer that installed our unit with minimal obstruction, to the service team who takes care of our annual maintenance and any urgent service requests, to the follow-up call to make sure everything was seamless, I will continue to work with First Rate for all of our HVAC needs. Hands down they offer the best service and value in town. Huge thanks to Mario for always taking such great care of our family and to David for his first-class installation!

Call for service the tech showed up the next day and did tests found that the vent damper failed. The cost for his visit was $164 which I thought was fare called his office and told them to get back with a quote to replace. One hour later I received a call from his office and was told the part and labor was over $950 to replace I told the person on the phone that was way too much for the part and it was only a 5-minute job for one person, they said the part had to be special ordered and was hard to get, I said forget it went into the house did a search for the part online and came up with over 20 companies with that part price ranging from $120 on the low end and $164 on the high end. No brainer I ordered the part and installed it myself in under 4 minutes and save over $850. Double check the cost if you do business with them or you will get screwed.

They were absolutely wonderful and I 100% recommend them. I had them remove my swamp cooler, install a new AC, water heater, nest system, and furnace. Everyone I interacted with was professional and courteous, and helped me along the way to getting my house the much needed upgrades. From the first call to the last handshake they were fantastic.

No kidding, in less than a week, from initial contact we had our new COLEMAN furnace installed! Just in time for the first cold front to roll into ABQ! We were so impressed with their level of service, we signed up for their Club Membership, as we reside in the SE part of town, which means older neighborhood, which means plumbing issues at times. I would definitely recommend Desert Suns and First Rate!

My mother called me in the morning on a Saturday stating she was freezing and that her heater stoped working around 11pm that evening so she froze all night poor thing. I called First Rate and they had a tech there within the hour. Not only did they fix the problem but located an electrical issue as well and recommended a great electrician to fix that issue as well. Great experience starting with the salesman Mario to having a great crew that had my ac install done in no time flat!! They even returned an ac unit I purchased that would not fit back to Lowe's for no extra cost.

This company is top notch in my book. They came out and evaluated the problem, ordered the parts necessary to male the repairs and performed the installation of the parts as soon as the parts arrived. Very knowledgeable techs and very good service.

First Rate installed a whole home humidifier for us. A couple of hiccups getting it just right, but First Rate was very helpful and quick to fix everything. They seemed experienced in installing humidifiers and were good at troubleshooting. I am happy we went with them.

Excellent service by the First Rate technicians. Andres, David and Jake were great and explained in understandable terms what was happening with my hvac, this is an area I really was clueless in but now I do feel like I understand the process. Their install was very clean and my house now has predictable heat and cooling! Thank guys

The diagnostic fee wasn’t applied to the bill.
Who does that? Only these guys. So beware.

Also.... the tech did a monitoring bs he didn’t need to and charged me $100 before I could decline. I hate it when people act like if they don’t charge you they could lose their license. Such manipulation. And to have done it before he asked and acted like it was mandatory, is sleezy.
So.... a fuse change cost me $200.

And then the tech hung out on my tenants lawn talking on his phone (more than 20 mins) until she asked him to leave. Creepy much?

I won’t be calling again.

We saw the truck at our neighbors house, spoke with your employee, Little Shawn, and he recommended that we contact the company for an appt. Being he was working next door they said he could come when he was finished next door. He did a great job, was courtious, knowledgeable and respectful!

Our furnace stopped working on a Saturday morning and I was scheduled for the first appointment available on Monday. After scheduling my appointment, I also received a call from the HVAC Technician who was assigned my call, John, to let me know that he would be contacting me early Monday morning to alert me when he was on his way.
Unfortunately, as fate would have it, the spring on our garage door broke during the night on Friday unbeknownst to us with our car trapped inside so we had to prioritize the garage repair due to financial constraints. I will definitely be calling 1st Rate when we are ready for our furnace repairs.

I wanted to order a portable Breezair MobileMax swamp cooler by Seeley International - and the lady who took my call blew me off. She said they only spec out and install new products. I tried several times to explain what the product is and she wasn't having it because when we have never seen something before - it doesn't exist (i.e., a quarks, black holes, etc.). I finally said I'll pay for you to send out a tech, spec out my warehouse, order the unit, unbox the unit and plug it in if that's necessary, but it sounds like you don't want to order this product, despite being an authorized contractor of Seeley International. She realized I saw right through her, and said she would look into it and call me back - which never happened of course. I feel bad for this lady. www.Albuquerque Never Too Late Counseling. Understandably, shelter in place had a significant impact on a lot of us. It's not your fault who you are, but it is your responsibility.

In a nut shell, this lady refused to order a product and have it installed because it fell outside their expertise or the installation would not warrant enough hours to justify doing a new job - despite them being an authorized Seeley International Contractor. I'll reach directly out to Seeley and see what they have to say about this level or service. I simply don't think a company should refuse to provide service because it's not a text book commercial install. Mark up the product and make a little money - they all order through Johnstone Supply warehouse anyways.

I have gone through a LOT of Plumbers/Electricians.
First Rate is definitely the best around. The owner was delighted to tell me exactly what they do when they flush a boiler (unlike any other company). The girls that answer the phone are very nice and knowledgeable. I have met a few of their service technicians. Brad is terrific and unlike other company's plumbers doesn't try to sell you new equipment. He gave me options instead of outrageous estimates. Sean was super too. We have been First Rate customers since we moved to Albuquerque. They're responsive, friendly, and provide top notch service. Quicker than other companies we have called to compare times/rates. They just installed 2 new swamp coolers at our house without issues. Mario is a great project manager and fun to work with. Jake and his team made the install day a painless experience, and they were all friendly/accommodating the whole time. Highly recommend this company!

I called First Rate last week to inquire about replacement of our furnace. We had, unfortunately, waited too long and by the time we called we had a significant leak. (We have baseboard heating.) Brad, our technician was immediately responsive and came over to give us a quote. I don't know that the quote was competitive because we had no time to get other bids. Even if we had, and maybe saved money, I would've probably gone with First Rate. They were back the next morning ready to do the work and did a great job of replacing our antiquated boiled as well as redoing much of the plumbing. (Our boiler was over 30 years old!) We will most definitely use First Rate and Brad again. Thank you!

Great service! Same-day fix and good customer service. Wasn't the cheapest service, but it was worth it.

First Rate did excellent work when they took down our old tankless water heater and installed a brand new Navien system, with a Blue Max whole house water filter. The installation looks sharp, clean, and works like a charm. Also, their installation rates are very affordable and service top notch. I will definitely be using them again with our Furnace and AC unit.

We used First Rate to replace our A/C and furnace. First Rate had recently done repairs to both our furnace and a/c units. Due to units age we decided on replacing both units. We contacted four companies for estimates. We made an appointment for a quote and First Rate's sales person Mario arrived for the appointment on time, inspected our old system then outlined in detail several choices for us. After we accepted his bid Mario continued to follow up with scheduling details for the install crew. Great service from Mario as we always knew from him where we were in the schedule. The install went smoothly. A tech arrived the morning of install with the new equipment on board and began removing the old equipment. Later in the morning two additional techs arrived and the work proceeded quickly. About four in the afternoon the work was finished and the lead tech walked me through the thermostat programs and pointed out some of the code requirements for the new equipment. When the First Rate crew left when the installation was complete they left the the work area clean. First Rate also called for the City of Albuquerque mechanical inspection. The installation passed the city's inspection without issue. The inspector commented that they never have issues with First Rate's work. Great service from Mario in sales the the techs who did the install. Very pleased.

Had an emergency leak in water main. First Rate got here quickly, provided me with reasonable quotes and options, and fixed the problem within 2 hours of my call. Highly recommend!

I do not recommend this company even though they can schedule service immediately. They try to sell you a costly membership maintenance package and charge a $79 fee just to come out. The service tech said he was unable to locate the leak without a VERY expensive procedure. He recommended that I purchase a new AC/furnace unit instead of wasting money on coolant when we knew there was a leak. I called a well-known plumbing company and they immediately found the leak... within 5 minutes, ordered the part and filled the coolant back up. They also put dye in the coolant that is fluorescent and will show any leaking in the coils or anywhere else.

This company fixed my plumbing and AC on schedule and within the original cost estimate. They are not cheap, but they will save you money on re-work if things are not done well by sub-standard contractors who might charge less. They found and fixed a leak in my bathroom. They also did some plumbing rework (another company had made several mistakes) and installed a ductless AC system. They were meticulous, friendly, and professional. I am delighted with my new AC. They recommended the most appropriate system for my situation and performed a perfect install. I really got the feeling that they care about the quality of their work and their customers.

We had a sewer line under our house break 5 days before Christmas. I called first rate on a weekend and unfortunately they couldn’t fit me in the schedule until Monday. I was bummed at first, but man… first rate plumbing sure did deliver first rate service. Andrea got her team out stat to assess the situation. She communicated constantly via phone and text and kept me abreast of everything. The guys who came out worked for 3 days straight 8am to 5pm and got a 5 day project done in 3. I can’t say enough good things about this dedicated team. Fair pricing and excellent communication and workmanship. Would absolutely use again for future plumbing needs.

I would have given them 5 stars, but I scheduled them to come at 12 to 5. But they showed up at 10:00 AM and I was in the middle of a Zoom meeting I was hosting. Bad form, but in all other ways they were very professional.

Patrick of First Rate Plumbing did a wonderful job diagnosing, repairing and following up on the plumbing challenge in our home.

We recently bought an older house that presented many issues, including no hot water circulation. Patrick quickly determined the main problem, presented us with multiple options, and installed a hot water circulation pump for a reasonable price.

As with other repairs here, our house still needed more for this system to properly function; so, Patrick returned to install check valves at various points - for no extra charge! Then he followed up to be sure all of this was operating properly. Now we have hot water, even in the most distant points of this older home.

As an added note, this business is very responsive, always answers their phone, and quickly schedules appointments.

I was very impressed with the service I received from the first phone call to inquire about their service plans to the maintenance Jacob provided on our HVAC & tankless water heater. Our water heater was not providing hot water and had low pressure. Now it is performing as it should. Jacob is very knowledgeable. He did a thorough job and was so kind and patient with all my questions and concerns. He even FaceTimed with me the next day to help me make a small change in the frequency of water heating. It's been a little over a month since First Rate Heating and Cooling installed our new Aerocool Trophy Series swamp cooler. A few weeks earlier, Mario Martinez came to our house and presented me with several possible models that would keep our home cool, from a standard cooler to a number of upgrade options. On the day of the installation, David and Kyle arrived on time. They completed the work as promised, hauling away our old cooler and paying attention to detail as they hooked us up to our new unit. Now that we've had a number of hot days, the Aerocool works as promised, and there is a marked difference between the outside heat and the temperature indoors. Since this model is eligible for a PNM rebate, Mario walked me through the process of applying for one. My family and I wish to commend First Rate for their professionalism and a job well done.

My AC stopped working in the middle of 90 something degrees. I was able to get prompt service, efficient. The woman who took my call was pleasant & assured me the trucks were well stocked in case I needed a part. I did indeed need a blower relay & he did have the part on his truck! First rate plumbers able to get someone out to my house 45 minutes after I called and it was after hours!!! They were able to fix my problem that night. Quality, friendliness, on time, responsive, and professional. In fact, I was very happy with the service provided this afternoon. Surprised it cost me $371 to turn only one swamp cooler on, but I paid with no question asked. Had to go to Lowe's for some garden material, passed by the cooler isle, found that a belt that I paid $75(material only) for, cost only $8 at Lowe's. Aspen filter that I paid $126(material only) for, cost $12. I was shocked, but given the benefit of doubt, I called First Rate back and ask if it would be a mistake. The answer was no, that's how much they charge for the convenience of having the material available on site. I get it that all businesses have their materials marked up for convenience costs, etc. I don't mind paying extra, 2x, even 3x extra. But here, we're taking about 10x extra! I do not believe this kind of charge to be ethical. Had I not gone to Lowe's, I would not have known how much I got ripped off! Lesson learned. To the owner's defense, the material they use is of quality, unlike what is sold at Home Depot or Lowe's. When asked how different the quality is, she could not give me a straight answer but they provide one year warranty. Lowe's also has one year warranty! While I was very happy with the service, spending almost $400 for getting one swamp cooler running is ridiculous. $142 for service charge - fair, $75 for one belt and $126 for aspen pads is a total rip-off to their customers. Great service, but be prepared to either have your own material ready, or spend 10x for your convenience!

First Rate has done excellent work on a bathroom drain problem that was recurrent. Two other companies had told me they would have to tear up my bathroom floor and fully replace the pipes. First Rate was able to clear the pipes, get things running for again and give me advice on organic/bacterial drain cleaners that would keep things running well while not damaging my pipes.

Recently they came and set my evaporative cooler in order for the season. They were able to give me a next day appointment and again, we are very pleased with their service. Their prices are quite resonable too.

When I thought we had a carbon monoxide problem from the furnace, they got someone out to us within about 1/2 hour. It turned out to be only a faulty carbon monoxide sensor--and what a relief that was!. He also did a tuneup on the furnace, too.

We moved across the country into a house with 1940s issues, an ailing (and not up-to-code) electrical system, and a swamp cooler which had seen better days. Our plan was to install mini splits in both the main house and the casita.
From the initial meeting and subsequent bid, Ron G. was both knowledgeable and responsive. He knew his subject matter, he didn’t oversell or promise anything he couldn’t deliver, and he made some suggestions to save us money and time.
My husband met him, then I did, and we were both impressed by his familiarity with the systems, great explanations, and the ability to pivot when a change was requested.
We had several electricians out to our home; all promised us an estimate, but we weren’t getting any timely response. When we explained this to Ron, he immediately pulled out his phone and called two vendors with whom he had worked. Within several minutes, the owner of one business stopped by, assessed the situation, advised what could be done, and named a date to have his electricians come and trace our mystery electrical circuits. When we discovered that the swamp cooler on the casita wasn't working, Sean came out to diagnose the problem, explain the issues, and recommend a solution.
Our First Rate team of Kyle and Sean showed up early, with a great attitude, ready to work. The fact that they maintained this demeanor despite being 1) over six feet tall and 2) stuck in the crawl space for two days was impressive. They worked tirelessly, supplemented on one day by a few other First Rate technicians (Bruce, Jake, and Jude(?) Please excuse me forgetting their names, they were so silent and unobtrusive, I really didn’t get a chance to ask them), and even through the long days, they cleaned everything up (including vacuuming) before they departed every day.
After discovering that one of our vents could not be used due to asbestos in the piping, Ron came to our house, in person, to explain the issue, the workaround, and an extra charge, which we felt was reasonable.
Kyle and Sean worked grueling hours, made certain everything was correct, were extremely patient about answering questions, and maintained their proficiency and good-natured dispositions throughout.

First Rate has provided quality work in the past. They've installed an A/C, furnace and water heater. They really came through for us when we needed help the most! My 99 year old Dad is in the hospital with a fractured hip and needed his A/C fixed ASAP! Mr. Ron Gutierrez, Adam and Jude all worked hard to get it fixed before Dad left the hospital. Jude and Adam worked on one of the hottest days of the year to rebuild his A/C. All of this was done at a reasonable price. We woke up one morning last week quickly discovering that our furnace was not functional. Our furnace's warranty was expired and we wanted to use a different HVAC service. We had a strong recommendation to try First Rate PHC. I called and talked to Shirley who said she would see if they could free up a technician that could come out that same day because we had no heat! She was successful and we scheduled an appointment for the latter part of the day. She followed up with an email confirmation and then when the time window approached, called back and informed us that the tech (Sean) was running behind. Sean indeed worked us in at the end of his day because he wanted to be able to get any needed parts ordered ASAP. I was convinced the problem was a defective gas valve. Sean did a thorough investigation of several possible causes and because of my interest showed and explained to me exactly what he was doing. He ultimately identified the problem (not the gas valve) and was able to fix it right then. Excellent, timely, and professional service for sure from both Shirley and Sean. First Rate will certainly be our go-to provider from now on!

First Rate Plumbing, Heating and Cooling installed a BreezeAir Evaporative Cooler at my home. My house has never been more comfortable when cooling in the summer. I have set the thermostat at the temperature that I want and haven’t done anything else. It goes on occasionally in the afternoon and evening. My experience with First Rate was definitely Best Rate from my initial contact to request a bid, to Mario coming out to discuss what I wanted and then provide me with a proposal, signing of the contract, and then the install. The installers were very courteous, and professional. They did a great job. Then the office called me to be sure everything was ok. When I called back I spoke with Andrea Navarrete, CFO. Desert Suns has been my 'go-to' heating and air conditioning contractor. Scheduling is easy, the technicians are professional, knowledgeable and prompt. I highly recommend Desert Suns!

I set up an appointment on Tuesday for Thursday morning and the technician was supposed to come in 8-12 in the morning. I called them back and asked them for a narrower time so I was told that I was second in appointment line and it will be around 9:00am. I called them at 9:30am on Thursday and the operator told me that they don't know when their tech will be in my house but it should not be too long. I called them at 11:30 and was told to wait until they get a hold of their tech. They later called back and said that their tech is held up and will be able to come in at least an hour or so.

Here is why I give them low marks: the operator could be courteous enough to call the tech earlier. I had to take time off from work sitting at home waiting for their people. At least be courteous to monitor your appointments and inform your customers if you know you are not going to make them on time! Interestingly, after talking to the operator (who was very nice by the way), he did not seem to care a bit about my business and did not even offer to schedule another time. Very interesting customer service!

When our water heater went out I knew it was going to be a challenge to find someone to come out and help us right away and we were so relieved that they came out the next morning and was able to install the new water heater (and bring the area up to code) that same week. Kyle was absolutely wonderful explaining the process and what to expect from the new heater. He made what could have been a stressful experience a very positive one! These guys were very professional when speaking with me, but I could hear all of their crude comments to each other through the ductwork as they did my install. Not so good when I have small children at home listening too! They also smoked cigarettes on the roof and then threw the butts in my yard. The product they installed works great and they did a nice job on the install. Their customer service was fantastic when I called them later about an issue. I recommend, but beware what you might overhear!

Preventive maintenance......well worth it.

Having lived in ABQ a long time, one tends to have used all of the contractors at one time or another. We are newer to First Rate, but have loved working with them. Our favorite plumber has become Brad Bray, who let us pick his brain about tankless water heaters one time while he was installing a water heater in our rental house. We also just had our AC go out, and couldn't get a timely appointment (called on June 6th, appt was June 20th) with the contractor who installed it, and so we were excited that we could use First Rate/Desert Suns as an authorized company under the warranty. (We did do this as an emergency appointment to get faster service, but at 100 degrees, I was very happy to pay whatever their fees were.) Sean was our tech, and while he was hot and tired with 100 degrees outside, he still took the time to check everything, inside our house and out. He checked the refrigerant levels and tolerances, he checked fuses and circuits, he climbed on the roof and looked at the system there (no one wants to be on an ABQ roof at 4 p.m. on a 100 degree day). I also read all of the negative reviews on this site, just because ours have been very positive. And quite a few of them reflect the fact that we can all certainly get the parts cheaper at Home Depot or Lowe's, but sometimes one needs some help. Businesses have costs and we find their prices to be reasonable, and much lower in comparison to some of the other big names for the services we have received.

We recently had a new furnace and swamp cooler installed and we could not be happier. Of the 3 bids we received, Desert Suns stood out as a clear choice. Shawn is very professional and responds to all questions in a timely manner. The office staff is very friendly and professional, and our installers did a magnificent job. We are happy we chose Desert Suns and they will be out go to company for any future business.

I first contacted them to install a cooler in the dead of summer. They are reasonably priced, EXTREMELY courteous, and got me in fairly quickly (it was unbearably hot). They didn't just install and leave. They stayed to answer all questions and offered their own advice.

Flash forward to fall, I received a reminder call to get on their schedule to get switched over to heat. Again, got the job done!

Very professional crew. Dismantled old system and installed new system. Was very methodical and clean throughout. New ac works great. I am sure heating when it is time to use it will work great as well. Since other homes of exact floor model have been updated in the past year I went and asked those home owners to show me the installation of their systems. I can tell you the install by this company was cleaner and a more seamless transition than what I saw in other houses. At this point I can say Daikin is running quieter than others i observed. Dont know if all of First Rate crews work as well together or is of the same ability and knowledge of disengaging a system and then rebuilding one as these guys were but would highly recommend them for any heating and cooling issue you need solved.

Great experience from my initial call on 4:50 pm on Friday! The receptionist who answered the phone was very professional. Took his time to do initial intake. Assigned technician right away. Technician called me 30 minutes prior to his arrival (as I requested) so I didn't have to sit around all day in in my house. He was knowledgeable, very professional and fast. Cannot imagine better services than what I received. Highly recommended.

My air conditioner wasn’t working that well after less than a year of installing it. First Rate came out a number of times to try to get it working and finally tracked down the issue to a leaking valve. I obviously would have preferred no issues for something just installed and the issue being found quicker, but I do very much appreciate that they stood by their work and made an effort to make it right. A month later and it’s keeping things nice and cool. Great company to work with!

Technician explained the details of the proposed maintenance agreement pretty clearly, which I signed up for. Will continue to use for normal maintenance and repairs as needed.

Our family has used Desert Suns for about ten years. They have installed numerous things and serviced them for us with superior service. For example, we bought a high efficiency furnace from them when ours broke down just before Christmas. The furnace has a water discharge which is lead to the roof. That December was extremely cold for almost a week and the discharge pipe froze several times. They were very responsive, came and cleared the pipe and tried a couple of different methods to get it operating correctly since the furnace did not work without it. It operated a few days and then on New Years day it froze again. We called, expecting that we might have a cold night because of the holiday. We left a message and two hours later a repairman appeared at the door, fixed the problem and charged us nothing. We have used no other company since that occasion and have recommended them to anyone in need of their services. They are ethical,friendly and above all competent. Their recommendations for other items have been spot on and saved us money. I think that is as good a review as I can give them.

So we wanted to switch from a swamp cooler to AC because it kept causing roof leaks and didn't work at all in the summer.

One place told us $22,000 so we almost gave up. Decided to try these guys just in case and they quoted us far less than half that price.

Installed the unit, works amazingly well, installers were the nicest people, and they left the house cleaner than they found it.

Our furnace broke down on Christmas Eve morning. The technician came by within the hour. The repairs were going to be expensive and the furnace was old, so we opted to replace it. The salesman, Mario, visited us the same day. The furnace was installed in one long day on the following Tuesday. In the meantime, they loaned us a couple of space heaters. Great job by the whole team.

This company recently bought Desert Suns, I would advise you stay completely away from both companies. I will keep this as short as possible but there were A LOT of issues with both companies and I can't put it all in here.

Called Desert Suns for a intermittent heating problem. Was charged $738.00 for a part that was supposedly spewing oil. Technician showed me the part and I was surprised to see it was a small electric motor. These do not have oil to spew. 40 minutes later heat stops working again. Tech comes back out proceeds to tell me yeah when it gets cold these things have a hard time starting up. When it warms up it works better and reduces the gas pressure and says that was the problem. Isn't this exactly the opposite of what a heater is for? Keep in mind that gas pressure had worked fine for years. I later found out the pressure by the manufacturer specs is supposed to be set to 3.5 they had reduced it to 1.4 to keep the unit running cooler. That comes up later.

Next day, heat isn't working again, new tech comes out and says I need a new circuit board and that will cost $800.00. I ask why the other tech didn't diagnose this issue and he tells me the other tech didn't really know what was wrong and wasn't very thorough as he found the replaced motor wasn't installed correctly and a couple other issues that indicated sloppy, unprofessional work.

Call owner and complain of a premium charge for a repair that obviously wasn't needed since I was having the exact same issue and the other tech found a completely separate issue. She agreed to send another guy out to investigate.

This is where First Rate comes in. New guy, who's in the picture , examines the problem and tells me he found a big piece of insulation laying on the coil, several loose nuts and bolts and burner plate and some other item related to ignition that were dirty and in need of maintenance. This insulation is what kept the heaters internal alarm readings so high. Gas pressure was turned down to eliminate heat that was being caused by insulation laying on the coil! How was that missed?! Tech says that should solve the problem and there was no need for a circuit board. This tech relayed a few other smaller observances that also indicated sloppy, negligent work. I get angry at this point because I've got a guy telling me the previous 2 people did very shoddy work and I obviously paid for something that didn't need to be replaced. Unit works for a couple of days then quits again.

At this point I'm done with these people and call somebody else.
When I arrive at the location to wait for this new company I find the thermostat display is blank. This is the first time this has happened since the problems started. I remove and re install T stat and it works again. New tech from new company goes through unit and tells me, hate to tell you this but I think its just the thermostat. I can charge you $240.00 or you can get it yourself from Amazon. I replaced the thermostat and the heater worked. That is embarrassing for me to admit however the thermostat didn't show anything weird during this experience.

I sent a formal letter to the owner Ms. Navarette, requesting a refund since they did not repair the furnace and I was basically screwed out of over 700 dollars.. I received no response and had to call. During the call Ms. Navarette refused the refund. Told me that although she owns both companies she's not responsible for the charges of Desert Suns and doesn't have to stand behind Desert Suns lack of talent, ability or professionalism and said well at least you got a new part. Yeah, thanks. After more debate she offered to refund half the amount. It has been 2 weeks since that agreement and one unanswered phone message and I still have had no refund. 4 visits from 3 techs from the same company, each has a different story to tell including 2 stories from the same guy, $738.00 dollars charged and basically a screw you from the owner. Don't recommend them at all. The original part was only replaced DAYS prior.

I had my heating and air conditioning unit replaced a few weeks ago. The units themselves are working and really have not used the air to see how well it works.
Unfortunately I am not satisfied with the office end of the business. I was not told at day of scheduling that there was a mandatory training day and work was not started until the late afternoon. This really was not good for my business being that I work from home. No apology in anyway. Second the plumbers were not prepared on second day of installation that my heating unit was in need of a special heating element or other parts needed for installation because of high altitude I would think that working in Albuquerque that would be standard knowledge and that one should be prepared.
No apology again and was left with no heat for an entire weekend and nothing was made right in contract. Now I have received a letter from offices that I now need to schedule inspection with the city via permit that was applied for. Again!!! Very disappointed and dissatisfied with customer service on an office level and plumber level. Should that have been done at point of service installation????
What to say..... I may need to think about continuing business with First Rate

My experience with First Rate started off well as they actually answered their phone (many other places I called failed to even do that). The woman who answered was pleasant and booked me a same day appointment to look at my Central Air Unit that stopped working the day before. She booked me between noon and 5:00 and said my technician would call me 30 minutes before arriving. The cost of the service call was $79 plus tax.

Sure enough, Sean called me at 11:15 and said he could arrive in 20 minutes. Sean was polite and worked fast, quickly diagnosing a bad blower motor. He let me know he was going back to his truck to see if the part was in stock and to provide me a quote. Upon returning he let me know the part was in stock and quoted me $804 plus tax…this is on top of the $79 plus tax service call.

I asked Sean if he could provide me the details of the cost for parts and the cost for labor and he said they didn’t do that, instead it was a flat fee. When I responded in a shocked way that a business wouldn’t itemize their charges, he returned to his vehicle to speak with a superior. Sean returned, apologized and let me know he couldn’t provide further details, just a flat fee quote. Sean did let me know that the part supplier was Johnstone Supply.

I contacted Johnstone Supply and they confirmed a price of $240 for the blower motor on my unit. In addition, I did a bit of YouTube research and felt comfortable enough to do the work myself.

The job took me about 2 and a half hours (keep in mind, I didn’t have the best tools or any prior experience). I’m guessing that Sean could’ve done this in less than half the time.

Bottom line, their “flat rate pricing” includes massive price gouging on both parts and labor. I called a number of other places to get a labor only price and the most expensive was $255…most others were less than $200. All in all, First Rate wanted to bill me $883 plus tax for a $240 part and at most, an hour and a half job.

Beware of ANY company that refuses to itemize what they are billing you for.

First Rate installed a new HVAC system for us, after our old one gave up. They quoted pricing that was competitive with rates of other companies, but included a more efficient system. Our installers, Kyle and Sean did a great job and were very communicative throughout the installation process. The office staff are also excellent, and confirmed install windows and also scheduled a date for the city to inspect the newly installed system. First Rate does great work, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I want to give kudos to Brad and Adam who came out to do service contract HVAC system maintenance and boiler maintenance service this morning. They were very professional and went over any issues with me. They took their time and helped me get off to a good start in my new home. In July of 2022, I had a replacement and upgrade of my evaporative cooler system. Andrea Griego is a journeyman and President/CEO of First Rate. She answered every question and provided me with at least 4 different products and price points, as well as reasonable financing options. Her proposals included everything and there was no hidden costs.

When her team arrived (Jacob and David), they worked quickly. Their work site (my home) was left exactly as they found it. They also made sure to educate me on my new system (Breezair).

It's been 5 days and I couldn't be more happier with my new installation. The transparency of the expected work time, the cost and the respect they showed me and my home was above and beyond. I hope that you consider them and I hope that they treat you as well as they treated me.

I must use Desert Suns to start up and shut down my special Breezeair unit, as opposed to my own plumber. The technicians are competent and nice, and scheduling the service is easy. Living in Santa Fe, I must pay a trip charge for them to travel from Albuquerque, which I understand, but the technicians apparently do not carry the array of parts on their van that might be needed for repairs incidental to the service. What that means is, if something RELATED to the process fails, such as the valve to turn on or off the water supply to the unit, you will be on the hook for an additional trip charge for them to go get what they need, a few miles away.

Great communication. Everything was very clear and easy to decide on. Installers showed up on time (actually just a bit early) and they were very clean, fast, and professional. Great service and good follow up contact to make sure everything was done right. Thanks!

Called Desert Suns out for a Carrier unit that was not cooling very well. They sent out the technician the next morning, and he was very knowledgable, identified three small issues and fixed all of them on the spot. Discussed the pros and cons of fixing each and the potential benefits, and I agreed. All said, the unit is working wonderfully now, very cold! I highly recommend this outfit, very polite from the person answering the phone to the technician who worked at the house.

We purchased the annual membership from a very helpful and courteous woman named Shirley. Plumber Patrick serviced our tankless water heater. He was outstanding, educated us about the water heater and was very professional. In all, this company is a 5 star company and we would not entertain using anyone else.

I have First Rate Plumbing Heating installed a whole house humidifier. The installer did a wonderful job and they have to think about what's the best solution for the problem as my house is a high ceiling with no attic and they also have to change the thermostat so the new thermostat will also sense the house humidity too. They also clean up the area. I appreciated their hard work.
I have problem with the thermostat or A/C and I asked the shop to Send someone to check the thermostat and A/C. Dave found the problem and fixed it right the way. Thanks, I can enjoy my A/C now!!!

Mario thoroughly evaluated my system and brought all options forward;thoroughly explaining all options ,including all the pros and cons taking into consideration my financial and medical situations ! He inspected every aspect oI my system. Wow had first rate come out to fix my dishwasher which was causing my garbage disposal not to work they fixed my dishwasher my garbage disposal both were clogged thought i could do myself made bigger mess called first rate the service i got incredible on time so so professional highly highly recommend great job guys you're my to go company for sure hands down

First two tech services were very good. They sent a different teck that was inexperienced. He told me the water pump not functioning when it was. Later I told him to test it and it was working. He didn't check to see if the cooler was cooling the way it should . The fan belt was bad and a new one would cost me 100$. I will get my son to put it to par. I paid $7.50 for new fan belt.

Great people. Shaun was super respectful and personable ( sorry if I misspelled the name). Had to redo some wiring to thermostat I get it. Three stars though as they are super expensive. Found the thermostat they installed online for $41.99. They charged me 154.98 just for the thermostat, plus checking the system and “misc service”. Got a quote to replace fan motor for $500+. Found one for $170. $300+ for labor? It shouldn't take a pro more than 45 mins to pull old one out and put the new one on as I’ve done it within 1.5 hrs having to figure out what goes where. Wasn’t an emergency as I scheduled an appointment two weeks out so service fee was expected. Great experience with the tech. Just feel like I was robbed in regards to the thermostat and future quote. I get it, make money but don’t price gouge your customers. I get you use quality products, that claim is cliche as most company’s do. Somewhat discouraging to call for future services.

Ridiculous to charge a fee to come out and give an estimate on a project....plenty of companies out there that do not charge for an estimate to a home owner.....these type of charges are meant to tie you into the company...because they know that their pricing is way above what it should be.....unethical to to this to customers.

Terrific job installing new AC and furnace by Dsvid and Kyle. Mario made the purchase selection and experience easy and was knowledgeable in his recommendations.

The only thing I can really say is that they were on time. Our AC wasnt working so I called and schedule an appt and the repairman looked at it for about 2 minutes and told us that it was the capacitor so without questioning anything (very dumb of us) we had him replace it for $515. for a couple of hours it work semi-well but by the next day it was as if nothing had been fixed. I called back and asked to have someone look at it again and they told me it be another $70 diagnostic fee (on top of whatever repair they had to do) if it wasn’t the same problem as before. Which obviously it wasn’t going to be. I instead decided to go through a different company. They came out and replaced the motor for $100 (works like new) and they let us know that the part that desert suns replaced cost about $15. I also confirmed this with a friends family member that works in the business. Won’t be using this company again.

He also cleared the unit of the dirt its accumulated over the years and was very informative and gave me great advice on upkeep. My initial call for assessment/repair of my AC turned into a complete overhaul of my HVAC system and water heater. Even though this became quite expensive, I was given thorough explanations and cost estimates throughout the entire process. Andrea (one of the owners) was friendly & knowledgeable and offered several different approaches for fixing my aging HVAC; she helped my understand how this investment (Daikin) would help me feel more comfortable as and also add long-term value to my home. The service professionals (Kyle & Brad) who performed the install were top notch: hard-working, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Truly a FirstRate experience! I highly recommend this business!

First Rate is a top notch company. I have had them out to my house on 2 separate occasions. The 1st occasion was due to our cooling tower not working. Yes...Our house was built 15yrs ago with a cooling tower setup with swamp backup. Sean spent the time to first understand the system then start diagnosing the problem. Within a very short time, Sean had our cooling system up and running. The 2nd occasion, our hot water heater stopped working. Brad was able to troubleshoot the system and get the hot water back on. In both cases, First Rate had excellent communication regrading appointment, technicians were technically impressive, and were able to fix the very complex issues at a fair price. I will recommend First Rate to family and Friends.

I absolutely enjoy having this team come and service my heater and swamp cooler- both of which are brand new, and you're team installed them. It is not always easy finding good vendors- but First Rate is awesome!

No heat and the coldest night of the year: we received prompt, competent, courteous, and do it right First Rate service. They did not cut corners and were credible throughout. These people know what they are doing.

I was referred to Desert Suns Heating & Cooling Inc. by way of a distributor for York equiptment. They said Desert Suns was trained in installation for York. I called the general manager and described the condition at the shut down stage (closing) was excessively LOUD definitely not normal. I own another York unit that is 8 years old and it doesn't make that sound at all. He diagnosed the situation by phone and told me it sounds like its on its way out but to confirm we should make an appt. I did so and the technician didn't put any equiptment to the unit and could not duplicate the load noise by pulling the power clip in and out. He said probably only happens when it is running excessivly hot. The weather during the hot summer months was in full force.
Desert Sun would call the manufacturer and find out what the warrantee covers being it was still under warrantee. They did call back, York doesn't warrantee the equipment until it totally breaks down. Now why didn't Desert Sun already know that information which they must know to be totally in the know of the equiptment they specialize in.
That will be $75.00 please for that phone call to their general manager.

Excellent service. Had an issue with our furnace and they were able to send a technician in less than 2 hours. It ended up being extremely important because we received snow that night and I have a newborn. The technician was professional, friendly and fixed our issue immediately. An absolutely awesome experience from the initial phone call to Andrea at 7 AM to the scheduling of Brad to the installation of a new hot water heater. Waking up to water on the floor of your garage is never a good thing but having a company like First Rate take such good care of you makes it as quick and painless as possible. When I first called Andrea, she was on the road and asked if she could call me back when she got into the office to get my information. She called about 20 minutes later and said that they could get someone out after noon. Brad arrived to our house after about 1 PM. We had to get a new hot water heater and found we were out of code in about five different ways. He replaced the water heater, got us up to code and even got us on a service contract to take care of the water heater, and our AC and furnace when the seasons change. Brad was polite, professional and informative. The entire process was as easy as possible, given the situation, and that was because of Brad and Andrea. As a business, we have tried to set up an account with this plumbing company for over two months. Emails and calls are not returned. This company sounded very interested in getting our business when we made the initial call but we have received no follow up which is unfortunate. Obviously they have plenty of business so no need for more.

Made an appointment for after 5:00 p.m. on 10/26. Daniel phoned a little after 11:00 a.m. stating he could arrive in about 25 minutes which would save me the after hours service charge. Daniel and his co-worker were very informative in answering questions and quickly got the furnace up and running. First Rate Plumbing were the only ones able to get to my home quickly and save me another cold night! Thank you!!

David and Kyle optimized the heating distribution throughout a 23+ year old house that had previously been converted from a swamp cooling system to refrigerated air without the ducts being adjusted accordingly. David's technical expertise and great communication skills to help me understand what was being done and why, were immensely beneficial and much appreciated. I've lost all confidence in this company. They botched a simple swamp cooler pad replacement for a business that requires an AC. They forgot to turn on the water? How did they test it? It took 2 business days for them to return to turn on the water. Our temperature in our building hit 102 causing us to cancel customer visits. Employees were getting sick from heat. I had to walk in 4 times to get them to return. When they finally returned to turn on the water the A/C's no longer operate correctly. They ran so hot the first day without water i think it blew a relay or some electrical feed. Now they only run 1 hour on and off. The A/C's are a manual switch and our building runs from 85 to 105 every day. We never had issues last year or this year until they replaced our cooling pads. Knowing I do my home swamp cooler and what goes into it, you have to be completely incompetent to damage the system. Since they wont fix the problem I've decided to leave a negative review.

This place has gone downhill under the new ownership. I have used them for several years now, and with my most recent service they brought out two replacement filters which was an additional cost I was told with my annual contract of HVAC maintenance. I’d get an AC service in the spring, and furnace service and cleaning in fall, but the last set of filter they brought out were almost 3/4 inch to small, so I took them into the office to get replacements, but they only had the same manufacture which measured to small also. I’d requested a refund on the filters and said if just go buy some from Ace, but then all a sudden the were included in the annual service and their was no charge according to the employee??? WHAT, I’ve been paying an additional fee for the last two year for them, so they obviously weren’t FREE! I told them I will take my business elsewhere, and wouldn’t ever do business with a company taking my money! Also the door to the office said face mask are required which I wear in public out of respect for other, but what about the employee that helped me? Why is she not wearing a mask?!?! Because they only care about themselves obviously.

When it went down there was no fixing it! It needed to be replaced and I called in about five different quotes!!! Desert Suns was the first one. Not only was Mario professional, he was patient,compassionate, and completely understanding about my situation! Money was tight and we needed a whole new system! Desert Suns Loaned me and my family coolers to keep us cool until we could find us a whole new system! We needed a water heater furnace and a whole new central air unit! Some of the quotes for the water heater alone! Were for over $2500! Desert Suns were already the lowest one! I let all the other companies know that and they still could not beat it!

Over the years First Rate has replaced my furnace and swamp cooler, and has also helped me with a variety of smaller jobs. They always impress me with their friendly and level-headed attitude, experience, problem-solving ability, and trustworthiness. For example, when at first it looked like the swamp cooler I wanted wasn't going to fit on my concrete pad, they figured out a creative but safe and secure way to make it work. They're also willing to take the time to answer my questions carefully and accurately, and check on their answers when they're not 100% sure. I mentioned them to my neighbor, who's a retired engineer and proprietor of an expanding handyman business, and he says First Rate is the only company of its kind that he recommends. We definitely agree on that.

Mario came to my house today to do an estimate on my request to convert my swamp cooler to an Aerocool. I'm totally amazed by how knowledgeable he is. He loves what he does and is very good at it. He took time to explain to me what CFM my current unit has, why it's not worth it to convert to an Aerocool, the differences between Aerocool and Mastercool, how a centralized AC and heating combo works and so on. I also appreciate his honesty. He told me my current cooler is already more powerful than the Champion coolers most households are using and he needs to do some research and consult with his tech guy to know what units are good upgrades for my house. Besides that, he also debunked a long time myth I have about my cooler. My swamp cooler for some reason has always been weak and not as effective as my neighbor's. In my garage next to the furnace there's a metal sheet that's been sitting there for as long as I can remember but I never knew what that is for. Mario saw it (another inspector from another company just came in two days ago and he didn't see it) and said that must be the damper to stop the cold air from coming out of the furnace. He told me to turn on the cooler. He checked the airflow from the vents, put back the damper into the slot above the furnace (I never knew there's a slot there), then checked the airflow again. He was right. The airflow is normal now and my cooler is working better already.

Dario came out to fix my AirCon. He was very professional and courteous. Didn’t hesitate to answer any questions and seemed upfront and honest. I honestly felt comfortable having him here. I will definitely continue to use First Rate for all of my AC needs.

First Rate installed a new recirculating pump for my hot water heater. I initially called B. Carlson and the plumber quoted me and wrote in the quote that the pump which they had installed two years prior needed to be replaced due to lack of maintenance on the water heater. This in effect would void the three year warranty on the part. When I called First Rate they said the wanted to investigate, and quoted me a cheaper price. When Brad came he discovered that whoever installed the water heater initially used galvanized pipe. It was almost blocked with corrosion and should have been replaced when the recirculating pump was installed initially. I now have brass replacement parts and a new quiet pump. I am extremely happy with the service I received and will definitely be using First Rate from now on. I very much appreciated them having the part with them when they came instead of scheduling me for an added appointment and I was scheduled within a week of when I called.

This was my regular semi-annual service of my AC/Furnace (great deal....good preventative maintenance). Daniel was there to service the AC, and arrived within 30 minutes of my service window. He first performed all the checks/adjustments on the unit on my roof, then replaced my filters inside my house. Daniel informed me of components that were starting to get worn and may need replacing in the future and later provided me an estimate for those components. Daniel was very polite and professional. First Rate PHC (formerly Desert Suns ) has taken care of my my HVAC since my house was new, and always do a great job at a reasonable price. I recommend everyone get their yearly service deal which now includes plumbing as well. They will save you from an expensive replacement/repair due to a major failure.

First Rate sales person came to my home assessed my old system and made a good recommendation for replacement and assisted in getting a rebate from city for upgrading my unit. It was time for our spring A/C maintenance and we were having trouble getting the system to turn on. First Rate got me an almost immediate appointment, much appreciated in advance of 90-degree weather! Our technician Sean called ahead to let us know of his arrival time and showed up promptly. He was friendly and professional; he spent some time with our multiple fuse boxes and got everything up and running in almost no time at all. He also rinsed off the compressor coil and vacuumed out the accumulated dust in the system closet. He tested all the components and warned us of a future, anticipated part replacement. I discovered a problem with water in my attic from my air conditioner and didn't know what was causing the problem. First Rate came out and they were very thorough and professional in helping me solve the issue. They are completely fair and reasonably priced. I was so impressed with this company, their service and their pricing, I am signing up for their yearly maintenance program for my heating and cooling system. I've been really disappointed by my experience with Desert Suns. We had a new furnace installed about a year ago and it we encountered problems right away and it's been very difficult to get people out to fix it. We waited over a week during the coldest part of the year before they would come out and repair the unit's pilot light/ignition system. Shortly thereafter the thermostat quit working completely and wouldn't turn the unit on at the right temperature and desert suns tried to tell us that the warranty didn't cover that portion of the system. Overall, very dissatisfied.

register in back bedroom is still making loud noise, but of shorter duration. It is now only 1 to 2 seconds, but still loud enough to wake us. We have not noticed noise in daytime, only at night. With my limited knowledge, I think the boiler is working fine, but the circulation pump sounds like it is pushing air into the zone in question. If that is the case, it would appear that air is not bleeding properly..... just a thought,,,

I'm very thankful I came across First Rate. My 18 year old A/C started having problems and couldn't keep up with the extreme heat we've experienced lately. As I worked my way through Google recommendations, every other company had a 1-2 week wait just to diagnose my problem, which wasn't going to work with daily temps in the upper 90s and 100s. I called First Rate because they had a high Google rating, and they came the next day. Their service technician was very professional, knew his stuff, and quickly found the problem. Long story short, I needed a new A/C because fixing and charging my old Freon unit wouldn't have been worth it (leak in the system, coils damaged). They quickly scheduled the install and I now have a much more efficient and quiet system. Their installers did a wonderful job and were friendly and obviously experts in their field. From the time I called them to the time the new A/C was installed was less than a week - if I went with a competitor, I'd still be waiting for them to arrive to diagnose the problem. I'm happy to have a cool house again, and definitely happy to recommend First Rate to anyone else. Great service!

Called this morning and they were at the house before 11am. Turned out to be an easy fix and we are cool again. This company is responsive and honest. AC repairs are never fun but First Rate makes it easy!

Always came on time and always did the job right. Found a hard to find leak in my refrigerated air. If you have a maintenance contract with them (clean your AC and furnace units once a year), they do NOT charge you time and half for emergency calls on nights and weekends. This is a huge win on a HOT July night when your AC suddenly decides to die. Their technician Raymond is very good.

Central air conditioning goes out in July. I heard from a friend of a new company and after some less than favorable experiences with larger companies called First Rate. Brad and Sean were efficient, knowledgeable professionals. They made sure I undertood the repair and maintenance issues, and promptly completed the work. All staff I have dealt with down to the most entry-lever worker have been extremely professional and personable. Had an entire system installed to replace swamp cooler and gas heater about 3 yrs ago. Occasionally had problems with the thermostat. They replaced it several times at no charge. Always liked their repair people. Finally last month, the thermostat stopped working altogether. I asked for their top dog repairman and they sent out the boss of the service dept. He and his men found a shorted-out wire and spent nearly a day replacing it and the entire thermostat system. Now it works perfect. They charged me nothing. The owners and managers are respectable and fair people. It makes me feel good to deal with an honest company.
