Savage requested that we review them, so here goes. Service was on 8-2-2018.
The service was superb, but the price for literally & actually 10 minutes of work was STAGGERING. We were not warned in advance what the service charges would be. We are seniors & live on a fixed income so $201
dollars for 10 minuets was a real setback for us. Can’t afford to have Savage again. So, BEWARE OF THE PRICE !!!

Brandon came to my house thirty mins early, worked as if he was on his own dime and even returned promptly to install a faucet I ran out and purchased. I will definitely be using Savage & Son in the future.

Unfortunately there is no way to leave NO STAR!
I had a water leak next to my house. I called Savage and Son twice over a period of two weeks to make an appointment to find the leak, and each time Kathleen told me the owner would call back. The phone call never came, so I found a more responsive plumber who found and took care of the leak within a couple of days. Just look at the rest of my 5* reviews to see who I ended up using.
I have used Savage and Son since about 1980. We have stayed with them all these many years, because we trust them. They always do a top notch job.

Recently, we called Savage & Son with a bathroom plumbing issue. Our house is 35 years-old and some parts are wearing out. It is helpful to have knowledgeable people come out and fix stuff. We have been calling Savage & Son for over twenty years. They do excellent work at a reasonable price. The most recent call, they sent someone at the time agreed upon. She was on time. Did excellent work. We asked a few additional questions about plumbing issues in the kitchen. She gave us understandable answers without a lot of jargon. No matter who the company has sent out to us, they are uniformly competent. If you have a plumbing issue in your house, Savage and Son should be the folks you call.

Lots of choices and friendly customer service.
Their driver was flying down Keystone this morning; 10 or 15 mph over the speed limit. He evidently doesn’t care about the company vehicle or the other drivers on the road! Based on that, I wouldn’t take a chance on this company.

Could not recommend Savage & Son more!!! I had an AMAZING experience working with them. They were on time, polite, and communicative. The tech they sent out, Keith, was friendly, listened to what I was saying, and fixed the issue quickly! The only plumbers I ever want to use again!
Brandon is a great plumber! He is very professional and pleasant. His work ethic is great. I had a lot of work done during two bathroom remodels and the quality of work was excellent. The pics show the finished product however all the pipes were soldered and redone as well as the shower drain in addition to new toilets were added and a bidet had to be removed and the pipes soldered down beneath the new tile. Thank you very much. I have been using Savage and Sons for over 3 years now and am very pleased with the plumbers and the company itself.
Savage and Son Plumbing is just the Best Mark, the service man, is outstanding! Mark talked to the water company on my behalf. Mark called Germany to order special parts. I highly recommend them.

First, I want to say that the people I dealt with at Savage and Son were competent and friendly. The person I spoke to on the phone, Kathleen, helped me get my water heater replacement scheduled as early as possible and the installer, Robert, did a great job doing the installation.
The only issue I had was receiving phone calls from them. I get many phone calls each day from people asking for money for auto repair warranties, donations or scams and I don't answer them because they have unidentifiable Caller ID's. I missed two calls (from two separate numbers) from Savage and Son because they didn't have identifying Caller ID's. Apparently they don't know how to set up a proper Caller ID with their phone service provider.
Angel was def. very professional! He was on time, gave me a very detailed account of what he was doing and why. His work was accurate and well done, and he left a clean work space... I am very happy with the job!
Brandon did a great job finding and repairing vintage faucet and toilet issues. My faucets and toilet are working better than ever. I appreciate his careful work! Thanks

The recirculating pump on our water heater went out. S & S was at or house within a day to diagnose and repair the pump. As many others, we rely on Savage for all of our plumbing issues. I will not use their service again. I was on a business trip and the water heater was leaking hot water out of the pressure relief line. My wife was in a panic and had to call a plumber. A repairman came out, talked to my wife but he insisted the air tank was the issue. My wife told him that a friend came over, and jiggled the pressure relief handle and the leaking stopped. He replaced the air tank and continued to maintain that the air tank was the problem.
Hot water is still leaking; they did not fix the problem and I feel I was taken advantage of. I understand why he insisted the tank was the problem.

I’ve never had business with this company and with the experience I’ve had I don’t think I would ever seek them out or recommend them. Today 8/2/22, when heading home from work, I used the freeway on-ramp by western village. As my lane was merging into the freeway one of their company vehicles (#79, lic plate ending in N35) started to speed up and try to cut me off, when there was absolutely no reason for them to do so. They were a good distance behind me when my lane was beginning to merge into the freeway. I called the number displayed on the side of the van and a lady answered she asked if there was anyone I could direct my call to and I said I wasn’t sure since I had a complaint for one of their drivers. The lady put me on hold and then shortly after the call was disconnected from their end. I tried multiple times to call them back and from another phone and each time got a dial tone as if they had disconnected the phone. I’m very dissatisfied with how they handed this situation especially considering it involved one of their vehicles being driven dangerously and recklessly on the road.

What amazing service! On New Years Eve, Mark came out and saved my day. Water heater related parts were leaking along with other issues. The sweet and friendly person, who answered the phone, got help for me right away! Mark called immediately and directed me on how to temporarily appease the situation and came directly after he finished another job. He was professional and kind with an incredible attitude!

We had a new shower installed in our new/old house a year and a half ago. We have had a shower that dripped to the bathroom a level down and we had it fixed - we thought.. When it happened again I called the company that I knew would know what to do with the problem - and they did. I won't call a different company again for any of my kitchen and bathroom problems. I will definitely use them again if needed.

Response from Savage dispatcher was excellent and very timely. Technician was at our home an hour and half after my call for help. Robert Gonzalez worked quickly and efficiently to unclog our kitchen sink drain. He explained exactly what he was doing and recommended measures to avoid future clogging. Previous experience with Keith on a different issue was equally top shelf. Highly recommend Savage and Son!

Mark was on time, prepared with the needed parts, careful with turning off the supply valve (choosing to turn it off at the street rather than risk a stuck internal valve), and very helpful with recommendations for a timer for the recirculating pump and dealing with 24 year old toilets. My garbage disposal broke down on a Wednesday night. I called Savage and Sons at around 8:00 AM Thursday morning to see about replacing it. Their schedule was full, so they scheduled me for a couple weeks out, with a promise to get me in earlier if possible.
Only an hour later, Savage and Sons called. They were able to fit me in! So by noon the same day I had a new disposal.
The price for the unit and for the labor was more than fair, especially considering the prompt and professional service.

This was exceptional service by Roxy. She is so professional and friendly. We had purchased a new toilet. When she opened the new box, the seat was missing. As she started to examine the toilet she noticed it had a hairline crack. We returned the toilet,

I got a call from my wife that our water heater was leaking water. I ran home and it was almost poring out. I called Savage and Son. They informed me that they were booked up. Most companies would have ended the call then. Instead they walked me through shutting off the part that was leaking. Then they said I could call Saturday morning for an emergency call. Then they said they would try to see if someone got freed up. Having stopped the leak I headed by to work. By the time I got to work they found someone and then within an hour everything was fixed, tested and cleaned up. The 2 techs were great, polite and explained everything that they were doing. Super experience. I highly recommend them

We had a new sink, faucet, garbage disposal installed along with a circulating hot water pump. Brandon called us and was here as scheduled. He was polite, friendly and a great worker. We had water dripping from the ceiling and the carpet was soaked through. I called Savage and Son almost in tears. Kathleen in Service was so very nice and helpful. She calmed me down and got someone to us as soon as possible. The person who showed up did what needed to be done in a timely matter. We will never use another company other than Savage and Son, if needed in the future.

Savage&Son is a company I trust. My husband and I have had great plumbing service since 2008 when Mel did the first plumbing job at our home. I have requested him ever since. Mel is knowledgeable, skillful, well-experienced, honest, and friendly. Over the years, Mel has tackled big crazy problems for us, as well as small repairs. Today I had a leaky washer faucet handle, a worn-out toilet tank flapper, and a loose lever for the sink's drain stopper. After watching him, and asking questions, I could now fix a loose drain stopper lever myself. Mel explains why something broke down and what he did to fix it. I respect his expertise. I am also grateful for the Savage&Son Valpak coupons for $20 off a repair. This is a nice way to show customers that their business is appreciated. And we, in turn, appreciate Savage&Son.

Having used and been pleased with Savage & Son before, we wanted to call them again when our kitchen faucet broke. Being Saturday, we were afraid they either wouldn't be able to come out or the rate would be too much. Savage responded within an hour, fixed the faucet without trying to sell us a new one. and the bill was no more than we would have paid on a weekday. Tom Perkins was great; he was professional, and explained everything he was doing. Couldn't be happier!

I'm very glad that I went with Savage and Sons to install a new water heater and to fix a few leaks in my home. The reason I went with them was a direct result of a conversation I had with Kathleen when I called with questions.
She was friendly, and when I listed my issues and that I might need a new fixture for my tub, she said that I may only need a cartridge. I thought, now this is a company that I want to do business with.
Keith fixed the leaks, and installed our water heater. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. It's such a nice feeling to trust your plumber!
I will certainly use them again. Roxie was fantastic, and took extra care with everything she did. She was there to reconnect our sink and dishwasher after a new countertop install and to install a new faucet. Our counter installers left her with a small issue with the air gap, but she was able to work around the issue, and get everything to work. I would ask for Roxie again, if/when I need a plumber again. She did an outstanding job for us!

I was scheduled for a 2 hour window for my plumbing appointment. In the middle of the 2 hour window, they tried to contact me on my phone (I was at home, waiting for the plumber to get there). In the 5 minutes (that's being generous) it took me to call them back, they had cancelled my appointment and sent the plumber to another job. This is unacceptable service. I can see this happening if it was outside my scheduled 2 hour window, or if they had told me that they wouldn't be abandoning my job if they did not reach me on the phone within the 5 minute time frame, but that was not the case. In trying to reschedule, I could not get another appointment for a week. I have used Savage and Sons before, and was happy with my service and the pricing, but it is not worth my time to use them again.
Mel came out, he was professional and did great job fixing the bathtub. He answered all of our questions. We will highly recommend Savage and Son to everyone!

Last week we had a water heater replaced. The tech like all in my experience in dealing with Savage and Son was great. The install went smoothly, the replacement is working as expected and the service was really outstanding. Mike was our service installer and his job was clean, efficient and he was a pleasure to have performing the removal and install. He is very experienced, thorough, and friendly. Great Service, we always call them for any plumbing problem.
Robert from Savage and sons came over to do 2 simple plumber tasks. 1) fix a kitchen pipe leak and bathroom faucet leak. He tracks dirt and muck into my house and replace items as needed. His caulking job was so bad that I had to buy myself some caulk and redo it myself. 2 days later my bathroom faucet turns on with rust water. I remember him holding a very rusty pipe but I didn't see him install it. I call the office, they sent him back out and he told me it was a bib inside the wall that cause the rust and now he would need to go into the wall to fix it. I was never told that was remotely a possibility. He left with no resolution and told me his office will call me. It's been over 2 weeks, no one called.
Now my faucet gives me rusty water, Savage and sons is supposed to be Reputable! If that's a good merchant, I don't know what anyone considers bad! I am a very unhappy customer.
Just like other reviewers, they do not estimate before doing work so you get stuck with whatever they charge. If I can give negative stars...I would.

As my home turns fifteen years old I have been in need of new fixtures and services. Savage & Sons is the place to turn for plumbing. I have had their service tech, Brandon, install a new toilet, two new faucets, a new garbage disposal, and some advice on modiying an aroma therapy tub. Brandon's work is top flight in every way. He is careful, precise, and professional. He is also courteous and personable -- an ambassador for S&S. Although S&S isn't cheap, I have saved money by having significant problems diagnosed before emergency service has been necessary.
After having two other plumbers come to help resolve an issue with our water lines and heater we had Savage and Sons come out. Their plumber Tom was very professional and knowledgeable about what he thought our problem(s) might be and got them fixed for us. He was also very affable and communicated the problems and solutions very clearly.
We would recommend Savage and Sons as well as use them in the future for our plumbing needs.
Not only is Savage and Son, Inc. the best plumbing company I have ever used, but their prices are very fair. Service technician Brandon, and his assistant tackled a very tough water heater heater replacement for me and did a wonderful job. Brandon also went out of his way to install a hose bib that I asked if he could also do. He was able to change his schedule, which saved me a seperate service call. He is a craftsman and he as consciousness as could be. The bill for both projects was very fair, even with the trip charge from Reno to my home in Kings Beach.
I have heard from a home rental agency that Savage and Son is among, if not THE best in the business and I will gladly confirm that.

He came expediently and replaced the fixture. I was not thrilled about the sink that he mentioned but he found me one I liked a lot. The service was fast and he kept the social distancing but was not rude about it. Amazing job! This fix looks like it will stand the test of time and it feels like an upgrade!!
Knowledgeable kind plumbing woman took care of all my problems in just over an hour. She was professional and did quality work. Double checking even under my house to guarantee it was working properly. My go to for any plumbing issue in Reno. I'm terrible with names or I would have it.

Roxy was my first experience with a gal plumber. She was extremely pleasant and efficient. She replaced a toilet, installed a new garbage disposal and fixed a leaking faucet --- all within a 3 hour time frame. I couldn't be more impressed by her knowledge of the different products available, as well as her commitment to getting the job done. I would definitely recommend!

Robert Hernandez showed up on time, and immediately replaced aerators instead of replacing entire faucet as advised by another plumber. He will be back to make more repairs after I figure out how to turn off my well.
Wonderfully pleasant, knowledgeable, and wasn't about selling us new faucets when not needed. Five stars for Robert Hernandez and the skilled wonderful people at Savage and Sons
WOW. All I have to say is WOW. The faucet handle for our tub in our master bath took a nose dive. It was a long time coming but when it broke, water just kept coming out. We had to turn off the water to the house so our tub wouldn't overflow. My husband called a few places and we got various answers on costs and on overall repairs upwards of $3K - but Chris came by after I explained and sent picks to Josh and WOW. Done in about 1.5 hours and only a few hundred dollars for the fix. We highly recommend them and plan to hire them this summer for another fix they recommended.

Brandon did an excellent job during the whole process. He explained everything to me. Even replaced two cartridges in my tub and shower that had gone bad. Corrected my heat circulation pump position The company that had originally installed it a year and a half ago did it incorrectly. I even called them back 3x to get it working properly.
Any issues down the line, rest assured Savage & Sons will be my first phone call. Couldn't be happier with the technician and the results!
Called Savage on a Sunday for an emergency repair and they literally had a tech to our house in under 30 minutes. Roxy was amazing, did great work and the price seemed far less than I would have imagined. 3 weeks later, there was a problem with the fix that was no fault of Savage or the tech at all. They sent Roxy back out very quickly and the issue was resolved for free with no questions asked. Highly recommend.
Terrible and unprofessional service! They sent two plumbers in two weeks and none of them know what's wrong with my house. They charged me $300 for nothing. The plumber who fixed the problem from other company said it's a very obvious problem. I guess anybody could be a plumber at Savage and Sons.

Good communication is paramount to service that provides solutions to problems and Savage & Son are very good with communication and staying on task. HIGHLY recommended!

After an unavoidable schedule delay the Savage and Son team got to our home and completed a complex irrigation system supply leak (Below Ground) in one day. Very satisfied with the work done including installation of proper components and materials.

I do not call plumbers often but when I do I need the best. This time I had a leak between my water meter and my house and I dug for over two weeks to expose the leak, which turned out to be over six feet down at my main pipe to the house. My first big compliment goes to Kathleen the dispatcher who was as great listener and got me someone faster than I expected. The plumber that came was named Phil and had no reservations about getting down in the six foot hole. Toward the end of the repair Tom was called in to assist and they got it done. Overall I was completely satisfied with this service from the time I made the initial call to the time the trucks left my driveway. I will always trust Savage when I need a plumber for something I don't have the expertise to do.
Reckless driving award goes to you! If they cut corners and cut people off in traffic, risking the lives of themselves and others, imagine what they'll do when you hire them.

Would not. Tried to speak with customer service about them parking in our building loading zone blocking tenants from using the space. They leave their trucks there for hours. When I called to speak with customer service and report them, they told me their people were performing a service call. I said that's no excuse for leaving your trucks in a loading zone. Then she hung up on me. Anyone living in Arlington Towers should not use this company if their customer service people hang up on you.

I needed the service of someone to clear a clogged drain line. I have used plumbing services before and dreaded the predictable sticker shock I knew was coming. After trying to clear the clog and failing, I Googled a service near me. I tried several on Google and they failed to answered or put me on hold. Savage and Son answered right away. The serviceman said he was in the field and could be there in about three hours. He came early and had the lines cleared in a very short time. He was very cordial and nonjudgmental about my plumbing work. He told me I had done a good job. Very kind. The price was very good! I should have called them first and will do so the next time I need help. No sticker shock. The price was very good!

I was visited by Savage and Sons Technician Keith and by pursuing the source of a leak in a manner that would make Sherlock Holmes proud he was able to both identify and fix the problem ... great job.
Over the last five years I have used Savage & Sons on a number of occasions, including installing a new water heater, repairing broken pipes hidden in a brick wall, replacing a broken sink pipe, stopping a shower leak. Each time, the technicians have been very professional and have had the expertise needed to do a top-quality job. And, the repairs have all held up over time. I highly recommend their services.
