Bruce MacKay himself started installing pumps in 1978. By 1989, Bruce found that he could no longer serve his customers without help. After starting with one employee, we are now up to 19 employees. Making Bruce MacKay Pump & Well Service, Inc. the largest well company in Northern Nevada. We drill new wells, deepen existing wells, clean wells, and abandon wells. We also install new water systems, and repair existing equipment including the pump, the pressure tank, and controls.
As of 2020 we are in a new location!!

Frank and his team are extremely responsive and professional. Wells can be a challenge and they are the ones to call when you need someone ASAP!
This is a long review but worth reading. In June 20222 my 83 year old mother lost all water to the house. She lives in one of the original houses in this development and the plumbing is in very bad shape. I called at noon and they were out by 3:00 pm. They worked til after 7 to get water to the house. They had to replace the pump and were out the next day by 8:15 to finish. In August2022 we again had problems when the old filter popped open and was spewing water everywhere. This was around 1:00am and both my mother and I were very emotional and panicked. The staff and manager were amazing recognizing that I was in near tears and sent someone out as soon as they were available. The staff are always very professional and efficient. I would recommend them 100%.

Bruce MacKay Pump & Well Service drilled our new well and they were great to with. They gave us a very accurate estimate of the depth and overall cost of the well. They were professional and just overall very nice to work with to complete the project. We also had them dig a deeper well in our old house. It was difficult to get their big rig in the small space, but they performed the job and we were very happy.

Quick, professional and knowledgeable.
Woke up to no water. That's a fun day waiting to happen, right? Well, one call to Bruce and 3 hours later I had a new pump, control box, piping and wire. Painless (except on the pocketbook, but when it comes to wells, it's never cheap) but after seeing what I had prior and what I have now, I feel confident to not have to worry for another 25 years about my well.

Sloppy workmanship(2). 3 wraps of electrical tape to hold the wellhead cap on. Used excessive expensive electrical cable between well and pump house with excess left outside.
I have to take some responsibility for the last issue as I did not double check the workbefore he left the job site

When my pump was replaced the tech was careless and left several niks in the electrcal wiring. This caused shorts n lead to problems, no water. After 2 service calls the real problem was discovered. This is poor quality work on your installers part. I have to pay for this again. I thought you were better than this.
The guys that came out this time were wonderful, polite. The response time was more than excellent. Im disappointed that im paying for your bad quality work. Its the new norm.

We had a pre purchase home inspection on a well & holding tanks. They never checked the holding tanks to see if they held water or had water in them. There employee that came out did not bring a ladder or a flashlight to be able to see in them.
We would not recommend them. Very poor customer service.

Old well component broke this morning and Garrett came out within 2 hours. Problem is now fixed. Quick and expert service!
I don't think they have any Reno competition which may mean higher costs but they were great in drilling one well for me 500' deep and maintaining it and another well on a different parcel. I highly recommend them.
Quality service. Complete explanations and always honest about what needs to be done now vs what is recommended to be done soon.
These are our Go-To guys, for 20 years. When we have a problem, they help right away and have a reasonable price for quality work.
They have replaced two well pumps for me and I paid what I expected to pay and the work was done as I expected it to be done. I am a former well pump installer so I speak with some experience. I am hiring them again this spring.

Such a great company! Sam came out and did a well inspection and walked me through the process and was willing to teach me how the well system works. After he left we had a small leak in a hose bib from age and I called them back and Monty came out and fixed it quick. Both gentlemen were polite and professional as was everyone I spoke in the office. If we weren't moving out of state Bruce McKay Pump and Well service would be our go to for well service. Highly recommended company!

Wow, what service from Bruce MacKay Pump. I called with an urgent issue and Garrett, the Technician, arrived within 30 minutes. He asked that I send him photos of the pump issue so he could have the right supplies and materials, saving a trip back to shop or hardware store. He was quick, courteous and knowledgeable. Great job.

I have needed to call on funding pump service 2 times. Each time was a quality job and they stand behind their name and their product. The 1st time they replaced a pump at a 186' deep all within one day and put a variable speed 3 phase computer on it. On another job we needed to replace a pump which they got it done in half A-day. The pump was warranted so there was no cost. Both times they explained things to me and showed me things to make me more knowledgeable about my pump system. One of the jobs we had to work in the pouring rain and yet they didn't stop they wanted us to have water again. I cannot recommend them more and also for the cost of The new pump system.

I want to give a shout-out to this company because the staff there have been awesome. When our well went dry the beginning of August, this company came out immediately, ensured we had water, and started the process to have our system hooked up to city water. The staff answered all of our questions, did the work on time, within the estimated invoice, and handled everything with the county and city. Our family is very impressed. Plus, this company put in the initial well -- something we didn't know -- and had all the records. We would have them do additional plumbing work.

For a number years I was having problems with my well, and while it took some time and a number of visits to figure it all out, I found that Bruce MacKay Pump & Well Service to be very best company to work with. I am pleased to say that I haven't had any problems since they solved things. But should an issue come up, I know who I can call.

Very Professional. I have been a customer for years. They are not the least expensive, but often they are the only provider who can perform the services correctly. My only complaint are the drive charges which can be a significant part of smaller jobs. Hopefully the recent move to a more central location will reduce this issue. It is a very good company and I would recommend them.

Bruce and his team installed a new well pump, replaced our filter system, replaced old valves. They helped us understand our 40 year old well (new to us), were responsive to our questions. Our well is now operating at a high level
I have twice used them to dig wells. They are very easy to work with. They give a bid upfront and both times it matched what we were ultimately charged. The crews did a great job of cleaning up.
Prompt return of phone call, quick service, and clear explanation of problem with pump. They have always been there for us when we need them.

I'm so thankful for this company and the owner. My well failed on a Sunday and immediately no water with three children.
The owner Bruce sent a crew out on less than a few hours notice and ensured I was temporarily hooked up w water until the repair was made in less than 24 hours. The owner Bruce is a god send and his employees were awesome, polite and so professional. I'm a loyal, happy customer for life.
I had no water coming into the home, I called them at 8:30 and they were here at 11 AM done by 12:45 PM… Chris and his partner were very nice personable and efficient. Thank you.
In January 2019 I had a well drilled in very difficult terrain and weather conditions. The team that came out were fantastic! Just getting their rigs to the drill location was an adventure, up and down frozen dirt trails, but they did it. They worked thru snow storms, wind, and very cold weather and never faltered. The office staff were professional and helpful with every question I had. I really couldn’t be happier with the service MacKay provided and it was worth every penny! Highly recommended!!!
