Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Las Vegas

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was sponsored by Google, so thought I’d give them a call. Their Call-Takers were professional and pleasant. They sent an initial technician out within 24 hours to assess and promptly identified the problem as a failed water shut-off valve to my townhome that restricted the water flow.

Apparently the valve was stuck in the “block all the dang water” position and so I had no water to shower, wash dishes, etc. Unfortunately, this problem occurred during the New Year holiday and so I did have to wait a few days for the Nevada Water Authority to shut-off the main water supply.

Matthew with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was scheduled to come out for the actual repair and he arrived on time and ready to roll. He even spoke to my HOA to coordinate the water shut-off. My HOA was being rather difficult, but Matthew handled it all like the pro that he most certainly is.

Matthew drained and removed my water heater so he could access the valve. Cut into the dry-wall. Replaced some of the pipes so a new and modern valve could be installed and ensured that he positioned the valve for easy access, should it be needed in future. He left for an hour or so, after the repair was complete, while we waited for the water authority to turn the water back on to the entire community. Matthew assured me that he would return to hook everything back up and test it and he kept his word. He rehooked and relit the water heater, tested the interior fixtures, had me test my new valve, cleaned up and was on his way to his next job.

The two men from the water authority also complimented Matthews work, which was very encouraging.

I am very pleased with their all around service from beginning to finish. The total job including tax was about $1393.00. It may seem a daunting amount, but well worth the peace of mind in a time of urgency, showerless nights and a filthy kitchen lol. The work also includes a 2 year warranty.

Needed to connect a water softner in a new build home. My house was already pre-plumbed for a softner, so the job consisted of installing 2 fittings and 2 flex lines. So about $100 in parts and an hour or less of labor. Wanted $926 to do the job. Basically charging $800 an hour for labor. I declined and will install the softner myself, but still had to pay $69 for them to come out. Definitely do not recommend.

It’s so refreshing to find a company that fixes what you need without always charging an arm and a leg and who’s not constantly trying to sell you something, which is what so find in a lot of plumbing and A/C companies do here.

The way plumbers charge for service is a bit weird they won’t give you a time and materials quote, it’s just a flat rate so it was more expensive than it should have been. That said we did appreciate the quality of work that was done and it was very timely. So we are very satisfied.

Jason was great. Very knowledgeable and fixed the section of my main that was being destroyed by my trees roots in a much more timely manner then I had anticipated. I thought it would take all day! I’m great-full for the 24/7 availability, as we found out this issue on a Sunday. Benjamin Franklin plumbing was prepared to send someone out same day. Which is so nice to encounter these days when there is normally at least a week wait for major things like that. I was even more impressed that it was able to be fixed same day as my quote. I would recommend this company and will use them again (hopefully we won’t need to though!) We are new home owners so I am sure we will eventually have something else that needs to fixed or maintained. Thank you!

Called them for Water Heater emergency on Saturday @ 7pm, Mitchell was dispatched within 30 minutes. Our water heater was under warranty with another company that just went out of business and they were able to warranty our unit with a new one. Mitchell was closed off lines so we wouldn’t have any more issues with water spillage in garage until they could replace with new one on Monday.

Bill was dispatched on Monday with new water heater and he too was very profession, friendly & informative.

We had called 2 different plumber companies that either asked us for all our residence information up front prior to asking what the issue at hand to see if it was something they could help.

Ben Franklin was the 3rd company we called and from the get go, they were more interested in the problem, dispatching and how they could resolve the issue right away. And on top of that..we were sent a text with a picture/name of technician that was dispatched with an ETA to our residence!

We received a telephone advisory that Matt would present to our home in 15-20 minutes. He arrived on time and rapidly and professionally performed the requested water heater flush and plumbing inspection.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing has always met my needs with honesty and integrity. I have never felt pushed or cornered or lied to when I have had any plumbing issue. The techs are friendly and very knowledgeable and always make sure I know just what is going on, they also clean up after a job. So why didn't I give them 5 stars? I think they could do better in cutting down their appointment window. Instead of a 4 hour window, a two hour window would be better. Put on more help if you need to to accomplish this. I hate wasting half a day waiting for a tech.

Technician Luis helped me with reverse osmosis system, determined there were no additional leaks, advised me on shower cartridge, water heater replacement and water softener replacement. Great advice, I will use Benjamin Franklin again!

Had 3 ancient ball valves that needed replacement. Danny was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He also answered some general plumbing questions I had with helpful answers. 10/10 for Danny. Only problem was the company was extremely off on their time window. How are you 3 hours late on a 4 hour time window? Would be 5 stars, but barely 4 after I had to sit in my empty house for 7 hours before someone showed up.

This was my first time using Benjamin Franklin plumbing and Roshon was great! On time and very professional. He had my problem diagnosed and fixed in no time. I'll keep this company in mind for my next plumbing issue. It was also cool that they waived the service fee for donating a 10lb bag of pet food so they can take it to pet shelters! Awesome way to run a business!

I called them out to fix a leaky toilet and when Shannon arrived I mentioned that the toilet rocked also. He never checked the leak only fixed the rocking of the toilet . Then I called them back out because it was still leaking I was told it would be another $200 for a toilet rebuild to fix the original problem I called them out for.

Horrible conmpany. Took my 8$ part I bought from home depot. Installed it in a few minutes. Charged me $250 for install. Leaking already after installation today.

I have used Ben Franklin for years. Always on time they are honest & reliable & work efficiently. They always make sure I understand the issues. They stand behind their warranties & don't overcharge for service. I recommend them highly.

Daniel very knowledgeable the water valve from the wall to refrig was broke replace the valve in no time. Job well done.

Included in our service contract with 1 hour heat & air, water heater flushing was included. It seemed the serviceman was inexperienced. He told us that our 6 year old water heater needed replacing every 5 years at 4-6k dollars although we're not experiencing any issues. After flushing it, he showed my husband that the hose bib attached to the water heater was leaking. My husband suggested he replace it. He said he would give us a discount & the price would be $215.00. He said if my husband wanted to replace it himself, he could get one at Lowe's for $40.00. When the serviceman went to his truck to see if he had the item, my husband tightened the packing with the serviceman wrench that he left there stopping the leak. He also said that our water softener is ruining our water heater & wanted to sell us one for minimum $1,500. Mark was very nice & professional, but we feel he was here just to be a salesman. We appreciate his advice, but we're very sceptical when it was going into the thousands of dollars. We can't afford that! A water heater at 5k every 5 years? We live in a family flying community & we feel that when he looked into our unfinished hangar (we can't afford to finish it) & saw our small 2 seater airplane, he judged us as being wealthy. He even took a picture of the airplane. We were very uncomfortable. Thank you.

Water heater went out on a Sunday & they came out that afternoon. Since it was Sunday the supply store was closed. They were there to replace water first thing the next morning. Would recommend this business to anyone. Was very happy with their service.

He also checked the salt level and made sure there was not a salt bridge in my water softener. Service was well done and I was very happy with the results. Nice guy drained water heater and recommended replacement of a valve.

Mark was eager to get our problem fixed, we had a leak which was coming from that gooseneck faucet thingy that no one really uses. We were shocked that the
gooseneck was causing the water leak underneath our kitchen sink. He went to Home Depot to purchase a faucet, we went with the Moen faucet, as we had been using the Moen fixture. Then he brought the new faucet along with his tools to start installing, but before he went any further he explained just what the cost would be, showed us the total of the new faucet along with the cost to install, once we agreed to the cost, he installed the new faucet and cleaned up any leftover debris, gave us the paperwork and then he was on his way. He is very knowledgeable, new just what was causing our sink to leak underneath our cabinet, he worked fast and made sure there was no more leaks before he left. We are pleased with Marks work and we would be glad to suggest to others who may need a Plumber to use this company, and you might ask for Mark, a job well ✔ done!

Positive: The technician came on time, cleaned up afterwards and was friendly.
Negative: Our cracked RO system was replaced by a much bigger unit than we need (smaller was out of stock). The net bill was over $1300 and we have received no itemized bill/paperwork at all - not even a product leaflet. The retail price of the unit was less than $350. What were the other costs????!!!

This was not a small job. I had to have over 30ft of my main water line replaced. They replaced everything and put my whole front yard back to the way it was in less than 2 days. The two guys were very personable and easy to talk too and walked me through everything along the way. I will definitely use these guys again but hopefully I don't have too.

Matthew was very professional and knowledgeable. He came over for water heater maintenence, however, he was unable to do so due the age being so old and risk of causing it to fail. Instead he did flush the tank. He performed a plumbing inspection of the home and gave advice when needed. I would recommend Matthew. Great job and keep up the good work!

My previous post was removed, so here I am posting again. I called a plumber out from this outfit. They quoted me 10k for a main line; when it ended up being a $200 irrigation line fix. I called several times to be refunded because they charged me a $70 service fee to come out. I would have no problem paying it; had they actually done a diagnosis. They came out, looked at my yard and said, “yup, main line is leaking, I need to measure your run and I will talk to the manager for pricing.” The man comes back and says, ok, 10k for the line and $70 for the service fee. I said NOPE and sent them packing. In response to the “owners” comment. I did call, more than a handful of times and never had a returned call from a supervisor. I could have been robbed 10k and this company DOES NOT CARE.

They were paid to put in a water filtration service but the plumber only brought one of the two filters needed. He said he would be back the next day so I paid him. Ten days later I have not heard from him.
Numerous calls all end up in a call center where they promise to pass my call on. Nothing!

I was given a 5 hour window for plumbing service and committed myself to wait at home patiently. When the 5 hours expired I called the company and was told they would try to reach the plumber, they called back to say he's not answering his phone and theres nothing else they can do. I was encouraged to wait patiently for the second half of my day but canceled instead and hired someone else. A little courtesy can go a long way and a simple heads up on a delay would have been appreciated but they obviously aren't concerned about my time which I also consider to be valuable.

Flushed my water heater. And checked for anything that would be a problem in the future. He told me everything looks great and didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need.

I was offered a free water heater flush. The technician told me I needed a part replaced. He charge me $260 to install an $11 part. He also recommended replacement of my water heater which is only two or three years old. I called to report this on the same day and have been totally disregarded. I had my water heater flushed. I was not readily getting hot water. So I had Roshon from Ben Franklin come out to check. All was fine. I just had to run the water to clear out air,etc. in order for all the faucets to work properly.

Matthew came on time, figured out that the scheduled camera inspection that would have cost us over $1000 wasn’t needed, explained that the noise was actually just the water softener draining. Rechecked to make sure everything else was in good working order and didn’t even charge us for the Re-visit. What more could you possibly ask for from your plumber?

New water heater and water softener

Jason answered the phone and was very helpful in assigning a technician to me the same night. He texted me when our technician Shannon was on our way. He was amazing and went above and beyond to fix our shower that we were not able to shut off. This was the first place I called due to the high ratings and they definitely delivered!

Bill and his college (I didn’t catch his name) were professional and so friendly. They worked efficiently to complete the long list of task I had scheduled (Filter system and dishwasher, sink, faucet and garbage disposal replacement).

Purchased water heater in August for $1700 installed. Supposed to be top unit Came out today for annual check and drain. Was told need a new anode rod for $200. On a 7 month old “high end “ water heater! Was told rods go bad in these “cheap” units. Performed the maintenance, but will not have Ben Franklin to my house in the future

I have found that it is not always easy here in Las Vegas to find a service provider that you can trust and you know they will stand by you and treat you right. I had an issue with my water heater, and after talking with Benjamin Franklin Pluming they stepped up and we got things taken care of. That is the kind of service you look for when you buy big ticket items like this. Their workers are always timely and professional. And I know that tomorrow or next month or next year they will be their in a professional and honest way.
Based on my experience I would highly recommend them. More companies need to learn “treat your customers fair and honestly and they will come back to you”

I fell for their scam by arranging to have my hot water heater flushed. The so-called p;umber was tinkering round in my garage for much too long and when he left I had no hot water.
i called them at 8:30 am and was told a serviceman would come out to my house today. It is now 8:35 PM and I am still waiting. They keep telling me that someone will be coming. I wonder how many days that will take.

The technicians that came to my home were courteous, professional, and did a good job. However, it’s the office that I have a problem with. When I called and set up the service call, I was told that the charge to unclog our slow kitchen sink drain would be $269. When the guys arrived, they said that $69 was the “diagnostic fee”. I already diagnosed it: the kitchen sink backs up and drains slowly. Maybe THEY should’ve paid ME the diagnostic fee!
It’s the second plumbing or air conditioning company that quoted me one fee and then charged me 3-5 times that amount.

One might think there’d be a law against that.

It wasn’t the fault of the field technicians, but you can bet I’ll be a lot more leery in the future when I call other companies of this type.

Didn’t want to hear that the Water Heat was bad, but the evidence was in the water. Mark job knowledge was outstanding, and the install was spot on. Nothing but great service .

Jason was great! I called because of a clogged drain and Jason showed up promptly and was very professional. He went above and beyond the standards and would recommend him to anyone. He has a great personality and very nice to talk to.

Service was a hot water heater flush but I had a tankless water heater. I found that these also needed flushing and it was done professionally and expeditiously. My only concern was there was suppose to use a chemical for de-calcification. But I am unsure if that was done.

We used this company for a Hot Water Heater flush. It had been 2-3 years since it had been done. The office called when Michael was on his way. He arrived promptly. He was talkative’ polite, explained things as he was doing them. He did a good job & I’d use them again.

We arranged to have our water heater flushed, but because it had been improperly installed and was so full of sediment it couldn't be done. When we noticed water was coming from the area of the water heater the next day, we arranged for the techs to come back and determine the cause. Turned out that the attempt to flush had loosened enough sediment that the relief valve was now stuck open. Anthony and Kevin cleaned out the valve and had everything working the way it was supposed to be in about five minutes at no cost to us. Their knowledge, skill and friendly (dare I say happy) dispositions, along with their willingness to explain everything to us, ensured that we will always recommend the company to our friends and family.

Called for a clogged drain. I asked what tools and abilities they can provide
and was told by the answering service the crew would come prepared with all the appropriate tools for clogged lines. They arrived on time and were friendlyand professional. When I asked if they could camera my line for blockages i was told we didnt bring that, we only have one and we left it at the office. Now they are at my house without the proper tools for a basic and i am on the hook for a $69 call out fee. Calling someone else next time.

Was told they had sonar leak detection devices in the van. Waited all day and took 1/2 day off work so Jason the leak tech could look around aimlessly telling me he didn’t have any equipment and just speculate what the problem might be!!! 😡

I was experiencing a steady water drip from one of outside faucets. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing around 9:30 am. By 11:30 am, two of their technicians arrived at my home and replaced the leaking faucet. The quality of their work was highly competent, and the two technicians couldn't have been more friendly and professional. I was very pleased with the entire experience. He was professional, courteous and provided detailed information on the warranty such as it started from the date of manufacture and not the date of installation (about a month or so). He informed us that his company would provide complimentary periodic draining of the water heater. He cleaned up after installation. I would recommend requesting Mitchell.

Anthony Archuletta arrived when the office said he would be coming. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He Knew what the problem was, had the tools and equipment right on the truck to fix it. We purchased a hot water heater from them. They called a year later to conduct the complimentary water heater flush. Once to our house the technician proceeded to tell us we needed some filter that costs $600 and they can’t do the flush until that’s installed. We declined and the technician kept insisting to the point we had to call the company to tell their employee to leave. Very unprofessional and sad they would try to scam you on what was said to be a “free service “ . Stay clear of this business.

Matthew came to my home in response to my request to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. There was a musty smell under my kitchen sink. He could smell the mildew smell. He checked the sinks, dishwasher, garbage disposal and reverse osmosis system and could not find a problem. There is no water under the sink. He said he would document his findings and I should call again if the problem continues. He was professional and pleasant to deal with.

Mr. Sykes renewed my faith in this company. He is the only one I want to service my home.

I can not recommend this company in any way. Incorrect diagnosis, low quality part used, was told essentially I was lying when I said part broke, was suggested 'I must know more than a plumber'. I finally stated nobody is going to talk to me and treat me that way in my own home. Rather than thinking of the customer, his job and the company reputation- he walked out saying 'then i won't work here'. Final insult- cleaning up their mess. Major fail.
4 days earlier, I worked with another plumbing company (different project) for four hours. They friendly, helpful, precise and made sure I was happy before leaving. I won't name them, as this isn't a fake review by a competitor. Now reconsidering using One Hour heating/cooling, their sister company.
Your experience may vary, but i doubt it.

This included air within the plumbing. I would refer any homeowners to their company. One main reason is a plumbing company that not only does Plumbing, but Water Softener work.

Very unprofessional. Hired this company to install gas lines for a customer. I expressed the importance of obtaining the permit # for this job both before and after the job was completed. Called multiple times a week only to be told over and over again that someone would call me back with the info I needed. I never once received a call back. Finally got the permit # needed one month after the job was done only to find out that they had pulled the wrong permit for the job. Called again to find a resolution with them only to be told once again that someone would be calling me back. This has held up the project going on 2 months now with no resolution. Save yourself a headache and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
