We had a water temperature issue and leaky shower in our master bath. Brady at Gretna plumbing replaced a part and fixed issue. It was easy to communicate with the staff and everyone was organized and professional! Glad I don't have to look elsewhere and have a plumbing company I can count and depend on!

From this point on, I'll never hire anyone else but John and his staff. They are professional and the epitome of what a great small town company should be. They installed a water softener and sump pump at our home recently and would recommend them to anyone. Great people, great customer service!

John and team were completely professional, efficient and worked diligently to get a pretty decrepit old water heater out of my home and the new one installed along with a new water softener. I have now used Gretna Plumbing two times, they do a great job. They helped me understand why our drain was continually plugging up and gave idea's of a fix. Our water heater was leaking, I called Gretna Plumbing late evening to let them know of my issue, they were at my house the next morning and did an inspection on the water heater, it was bad and they also check for a warranty as it did still have one. Quick response after a water pipe burst!

I found myself in a panic the day before Thanksgiving. My toilet had broken and I didn't have the time to fix it before my company arrived later in the afternoon. I had called several Large plumbers in the area who didn't have any appointments available until the following week. I took a shot and called Gretna Plumbing & Drain Services. I did get voicemail, however was called back immediately by the owner himself. He promised that someone would be out to help even if it was himself to come and get my guest bathroom up and running. He called back within 20 minutes and said he had a guy coming out within an hour. The repair was quick and so very much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to understand my circumstances instead of just thinking of me as a number. I will definitely call again in the future!

John and his staff At GP & Drain are both very professional and skilled at what they do. More importantly, they care about their results and their work and your satisfaction. Water softener inspection/diagnostic check. I had Gretna Plumbing install our water softener a few years ago. We always thought our water wasn’t as soft as we’d hoped for. We scheduled, and Darren was on time and explained everything. They checked the water and changed the salt level settings. We’ve already noticed a big difference. The ran a natural gas line to the garage and then installed a garage heater for us. Works great - cars are never colder than 40 degrees which makes a huge difference in the winter!

For 8 months we had issues with a sewer drain backing up into our basement. John was the 5th plumber out to look at it and the ONLY ONE who suggested diagnosing the problem before simply spending money to fix something we couldn't see. I am completely impressed by the response and service from Gretna Plumbing! Yesterday, late in the day, we had a leak coming from the cold water faucet that our washing machine connects to. I spoke with Kennedy and she had someone (John, the owner) to our home within 30 minutes which to me was amazing!! John stopped the leak and told us he would have to pick up a part, and was back this morning and completed the repair. In addition, he quickly repaired a bathroom faucet that had a small leak in just minutes. Not only was John Ellis a pleasant and professional individual to work with, but his service was exceptional and reasonably priced. Gretna plumbing is our go to for any plumbing repairs or installation. We appreciate that they are not trying to hard sell us but seeking to find solutions. They are up front, direct, extremely helpful, knowledgeable and thorough. We have been customers for many years and can count on quality service and support.

We noticed water dripping through the ceiling late Friday evening. We have a fairly new house (4 yrs old) so a leak in the ceiling was unexpected, to say the least. I called GP&DS and was immediately connected with a very helpful person who took the basic information and promised to pass it on to the emergency crew. I got a timely call back from John (the owner) who confirmed my decision to shut off the water and told me they would have someone there the next morning (Saturday) between 9-11am. He couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful.

The technician (Chandler) was at our home at 9AM on the dot. He immediately went to work trying to identify the source of the water leak, but it wasn't immediately obvious. He tried a number of tests, but nothing showed up. He offered me the option of cutting a hole in the wallboard (ceiling) to see if we could track it down from below. I happily agreed. Chandler was very good about making sure I knew that this was a step they don't take unnecessarily, and that I could just opt to watch the situation for a few days to see what developed. I'm an engineer, so I don't like the idea of mystery water, and I told him I would be more comfortable looking and ruling out everything we could see. He went right to work and cut a modest access hole, but unfortunately we could not see any water of any kind anywhere. I settled up with him and I could not have been happier with Chandler, John and Gretna Plumbing & Drain.

I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone with any kind of plumbing need.

Chandler also kindly offered me a suite of maintenance plans that they have for water heater and plumbing maintenance. I signed up for one this AM. After owning several houses and even more water heaters, I can testify that having an annual flush will absolutely extend the life of the appliance.

[Follow-up note: I have been watching the area for 3 days and there is not a drop of water to be found anywhere, and no visible leaks. I guess I will have to add mystery water to my plumbing vocabulary :) ]

He not only assured me they could help us but had a crew at our home within 15 minutes of calling them. He personally arrived with his crew to evaluate the situation. They explained what the problem was, explained how they would fix it and gave us an estimate of what it would cost. They fixed the problem right away and charged exactly what they was quoted, with no hidden fees or additional diagnostic fees added in. They were honest and very fair in pricing. The staff of Gretna Plumbing and Drain Services went above and beyond to fix my problem during a drain emergency. I'm proficient in performing a number of tasks myself but know when I'm over my head. When this happens, I've hired my share of contractors and have had good, average, and really bad experiences. This company is one of the best, most responsive, and courteous that I've had dealings with and the prices were fair and transparently presented. I will definitely hire them again if and when plumbing or drain problems arise which are above my abilities.

After building my new home in Aspen Creek, I realized that I needed to install a water softener system. After checking around for pricing, I chose to buy a softener and enlist the services of a qualified plumber to install. The work required running additional lines and I had neither the tools or expertise. Based on recommendations and getting some quotes, I selected Gretna Plumbing. Their expertise was spot on - they were able to run the necessary lines, install the system and get it running. They were also very helpful in providing instruction for use and how to replenish the mineral salt. They were prompt, professional and courteous. I never had issues with the system and it ran great!

They were here the same day I called. We were without hot water for the entire weekend and wanted to get it fixed fast. They were here at 11 and done by 3:30. Took out 2 old water heater and replaced with 1 larger heater. Very courteous and protective of our rugs and walls.

Very professional and willing to assist in how we wanted things completed. John gave good suggestions that we were not aware of. Had several different workers and they explained things and were all easy to work with

WE called Gretna Plumbing to relocate a gas line and shut off valve in back of our stove so that we could move the stove closer to the wall. Their crew came out when scheduled and moved the gas line into the wall behind the stove. After they left I noticed that where they moved the gas line in our basement the line was hanging approximately 18 from the ceiling. We call Gretna and they sent a supervisor out to see what he could do to correct the problem. he took some pictures and a video of the gas line and sent it to his office for review. Within an hour the owner of their company came with a service tech.and both of them did a very professional job in attaching the gas line to the upper floor joists.

Thank you Gretna Plumbing! Several employees showed up bright and early, talked through the project, then informed us they need to get some supplies. While they were gone got a call from Gretna Plumbing office telling me that they were delayed because they had to go to a couple supply houses to find what they needed and would be returning shortly. Two employees returned, they worked diligently and quietly,finishing our project quickly and just as we described. It was a very cold day and of course they had to go in and out several times always closing doors behind them keeping it warm inside. When the work was finished I was walked thru it and asked several times if it looked and was exactly what i wanted. they even offered to put salt in my softner for me. Called John the morning our water heater went out and he was able to check it out within an hour. We got the water heater replaced that day and also had him install a water softener on a later date. He and his assistant Mike were both very professional and friendly. They did a great job installing the appliances and also helped me solve an issue I was having with my kitchen faucet. Outstanding. We just had a kitchen sink faucet replaced, but I can't say enough good things about the service. John Ellis explained everything, was quick, extremely courteous, and pleasant. Kennedy in their office was great to work with, as well. I had a question about a sticking valve and John actually advised me not to change it, because it wasn't necessary and didn't want me spending unnecessary money. I really appreciate that he told me the cost up front before starting the work.

The first plumbing company could not locate it after many attempts, and consequent bids were uncertain and costly - a couple which included digging up the street!?! This is a damn good local business. I was referred by a guy whose opinion I value and couldn't be happier.

We woke up with no hot water on Thursday morn. I contacted Jake at Gretna Plumbing and Drain later that afternoon. I also contacted a few other plumbers about the same time. Jake's professionalism on the phone was easily the best. We submitted a number photos so he could get an understanding of what the job entailed, and he said he'd get back with us in the morning.

Friday morning came and by 9am Jake's called and had a price estimate and a time his men could arrive.

On such short notice, we were just hoping that someone could get our hot water back on before the weekend, but we really weren't expecting it. His plumber John was at our house by 10:45am. New 75 gallon water heater installed by 12:30ish. He cleaned up nicely, and the job was done...That's service.

They were in and out. The plumbing and copper pipe work was clean and precise. And the price was better that some others I was quoted. This is an easy business to refer to people...

Always the best service in the worst times. Any time we have a break, burst, leak, or just need some help, John and Mike are out immediately. They always have a smile, do good work, and are just good folks. We had a problem with a basement floor drain and John got it fixed. While he was in the basement, he noticed that our hot water heater was leaking and he asked us about and then just fixed it. No charge, just a simple repair and a smile. Best service ever!

I felt lucky Gretna Plumbing sent a tech the same afternoon of my call because an old toilet seal was letting sewer gas deep into my home. The new toilet job was completed inside of 2 hours. Very pleased and will use them again.

My water softner was not working properly after moving to the Gretna - Tiburon area. In researching found the water softner was under warranty and Gretna Plumbing was the authorized dealer for these types of water softners.

I contacted Gretna Plumbing & John Ellis's team made numerous trips to my home in determining the issue. They provided superior service in sticking with me and fixing my water softner issue and was only charged for the initial trip and I know they were out at least four times.

Having been in the service industry over 40 years and it would have been very easy for John and his team to send the issue back to the manufacturer, they did not. Now I have water softner that is working properly in an area that has very high hard water levels.

I can't thank Gretna Plumbing and John Ellis enough for standing by me and fixing my water softner problem!!!

Gretna Plumbing is fantastic. I had a main line blockage that was causing the ground level of my building to backup and flood. I called at 12:30. They were fully booked for the day, but were able to move things around and had the issue resolved by 3:30. Recently moved to Bellevue from out of state. Bought our home and intended on purchasing a water softener. John from Gretna Plumbing did our consultation and talked to us first to understand our intent and water usage in the household. He talked about recommended size of units, pros/cons of various models, and then when he saw our current gas water heater he informed us it was from 1985 -- the age of the house. We learned we had scalding hot water because the thermostat was likely corroded. John didn't push at all, but explained that water heaters are designed to last roughly 10 years. He offered more recommendations, explanations of how he would do the work, models he would use, where he could place equipment, etc. We learned more in 1 hour with him than at any major home improvement store. In the end, we decided to go with a new water heater and two piece water softener system. John had great availability to install and gave us an excellent price, plus peace of mind that our old system won't die on us in the middle of winter. John and Jacob came to install everything and were friendly, professional, and explained everything about the system so that we could understand our equipment. Knowing that he also provides 24 hour emergency service gives us great peace of mind. Gretna Plumbing has earned our trust and continued business.

After it became apparent that I had a clog in my drain line out to my septic tank (which exceeded my ability to unclog and had the potential for a huge mess) I gave John at Gretna Plumbing a call. He dispatched two of his guys out to my house and they were there within an hour after my call and had the line to my septic cleared within 30 minutes. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. Got myself in a little too deep on a plumbing project on Friday night. Left the water off overnight and called John at 8:15 am on Saturday. He was at our house by 9:30 and had our situation resolved by 10:30. Friendly and courteous and did quality work.
