Water backed up in the main water line and paid over $550 for Lutz to cable the kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and washing machine drain. The back up has returned. I have now hired a new plumber to clear the main water line properly at a much lower price. I am disappointed with the service I received, even after I called to notify them that the problem had returned. I will never use/refer this company to anyone in the future. I have owned my home for over seven years and have never had any major plumbing issues, let alone the same plumbing issue that has happened twice in less than a year.

When I called Lutz they had a technician out within an hour and the problem was resolved the same day. The technicians were friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Much appreciated.

The toliet has been giving us trouble for a while. He was able to replace our toliet with the one I wanted in a short period of time. I called Lutz with a problem with with my gas fireplace pipe. I wasn’t even sure they could help but they had a Master Plumber, Brent D, at my house in 15 minutes and my fireplace up and running in 10. Afterwards, Brent stayed to help me figure out what was wrong with my master bathroom tub and gave me recommendations on who to call to get it fixed. I spoke to Mathew after midnight as our sump pump quit working and water was flooding the basement. He was courteous and understanding and came out to my house to replace the sump pump at 3:30 am after very little sleep. I highly recommend Mathew as your plumber and Lutz is lucky to have him on their staff.

We've used Lutz twice in the past year. Over the summer, our outside faucets were leaking. I called and was able to get someone out to repair them quickly. The work was done well and the technician was very friendly and efficient. We recently swapped out our washer and dryer and realized our shut off valves were bad. I was able to schedule online for this repair which was very convenient! Pearce came out on Saturday to replace the whole laundry box. He was very friendly and answered all my questions. His work is top notch and I'm very happy I found Lutz!

Had a pretty extensive boiler room pipe replacement and Scott and Lamont did an impressive job. Water heater is fine, but not sure I actually needed one. I felt pressured into buying one or have to pay the ridiculously high minimum trip charge of $165, which was not disclosed when I called and setup the appointment.

Update: Correct, I was not charged a minimum trip fee since I purchased the water heater. If I did not agree to purchase the water heater on the spot, I was told I would be charged the minimum trip fee, which was the first I was told of the minimum charge.

Needed three faucets hooked up and 1 drain line raised. I was given an estimate of three hours to do the job and I supplied all the hardware except for the p traps and the drain line extension for a total of 1,100+…..Absolutely outrageous to pay 325.00+ an hour for a plumber on a new install. Seriously!!!

William was our technician today, he removed a broken water heater and installed a new one. Job site was left very clean (much appreciated), great care was taken removing the old one and bringing in the new which wasn’t easy considering he had to go down a steep side yard with lot of steps in the snow we just had, dismantle a gate and reattach it afterward so he could get onto the deck, he did it while keeping his pleasant attitude! He showed me what he had done and explained the new model after he was finished, I’m very pleased with Lutz plumbing and the quality of the technicians they hire reflects on their high standards. I don’t bother to look anywhere else when I require the services of a plumber! Thank you for being so dependable!

Last June, a plumber from Lutz replaced an outside faucet incorrectly, this year the pipe split.

I called and they had a plumber out the next day. Willis did a great job explaining everything and working with us to fix the issue correctly. I was also relieved to know that the original plumber is no longer employed by Lutz because of their constant mistakes.

I would have preferred that the issue was fixed correctly the first time. However, Lutz redeemed themselves and did the right thing.

Our sump pump failed during recent heavy rains. Called Lutz, arranged for appt....service guy called ahead of time and was here 4 hours early, very professional, explained various pump options and then installed a new pump in about an hour...and it immediately started working fine. They also called a few hours later to make sure that everything was still working fine.

Great service and good people. Have always been pleased with their work. They aren't the cheapest, but they are very responsive and get the job done right. Highly recommended.

Had a pipe leaking in my basement. After trying to repair it myself I called a plumber. I received the most compassionate and caring service from the minute they answered the phone to start and finish of the work. They were right up front that they were a little higher than most but not the most expensive in the area. With the original job and an extra pipe about to need repaired, replaced along with a service contract, I found them right in the ballpark. Yes, little higher than Google high end, but Google doesn't include extras like service contracts. Thank you, Brent, Barb, and everyone at Lutz Plumbing😊

I called Lutz on a recommendation from the heating and cooling business we use. They set an appointment for 10am. I got called at 11 indicating their technician was held up and would show up at 2-4pm. No big deal. After he arrived I sent him to the laundry room where the leak was. I explained that we were trying to move the washer and dryer upstairs and the valve started leaking. He said he would recommend replacing the hot and cold valves, two valves total. The valves are located as many are, about waist high right behind the washer. No drywall or complicated but required for this job, just replacing the two valves. He quoted me $460 dollars to replace them, I was baffled. I asked how long it would take, he said around 30 minutes. I googled the parts, around $30-40 for them. I called the business to make sure the technician wasn't improperly applying charges and was told they are a flat rate company and that this was the right charge for this job. She went on to say that it came from their price book set by management. Feel free to use them if you want to pay nearly $500 for 30 minutes of work, maybe it gets cheaper as the jobs get more complex but I'll never know, because I won't be calling them again.

When we have plumbing problems, we always turn to Lutz. We've used them for years and always appreciate their integrity, workmanship and quality. We had Trey come out yesterday with an issue on our kitchen faucet and once again, the service was on time, honest and resolved.

The Lutz technician Hunter Smart was on time, communicated to us throughout the service, and was incredibly quick and efficient. He did a good job walking us through all of the repairs at the end of the service call, and did not try to up-sell any service that wasn’t necessary. He was kind and professional. We would use Lutz again.

I had a hot water heater that rusted out and need to be replaced immediately. I called 3 local companies. Lutz was the first to respond and was even able to replace the hot water heater that day. The communication was great, on site estimate and payment were easy. I would definitely use them again.

Showed up less than an hour after I called. Very friendly and professional. What should have been an easy job got complicated, and took way more time than originally thought, but they still only charged me for the original estimate cost.

I was literally running out of options on what to do with my water heater. The pilot light wouldn’t stay lit, my home insurance couldn’t do anything about it and neither could the heaters repair services. I was at my wits end being on the phone with the units company trying to figure the problem and just wanted someone to come out and look at it.
Luckily through a quick search online I found Lutz Plumbing and gave them a call and literally within 30 minutes they were checking my water heater and giving me a diagnostic om what was wrong . Thankfully they were able to fix the water heater and it cost a lot less that I had anticipated. Brent Drabik was very kind and helpful, thoroughly explaining what was wrong with the unit. I would highly recommend them to anyone having issues with a water heater or other plumbing services.

Trey and an associate put in a whole house water softener for us about a month ago - very professional and quality work. We had some not great looking piping that they advised replacing to ensure no issues later on. Trey also had to cover quite a bit of space with the plumbing and did it in a way that if we decided to finish the basement - would make it easy to do so. He took the time to explain the water softener and maintenance - Would highly recommend. Thank you!

I thought they charged way too much money to remove a spacer and set a toilet. It costed a little over $200.00 to do the above mentioned. I was shocked at the price. The service man was very nice but for a few minutes of work it was way too much money.

The plastic coupling cracked that attaches the water line to the turn-off valve under the toilet causing a serious leak! KIARA in the office took my call and was very helpful. She explained the Lutz up front pricing practice and $39 trip fee. I requested a master plumber and she gave me several time slots to choose from. BRENT arrived in a timely fashion, examined the valve connection and showed us the cracked plastic coupling. We asked him to fix the broken toilet connection as well as a similar plastic fitting in the other bathroom as a precaution. The price quote was reasonable. He was both efficient and neat. I would highly recommend LUTZ Plumbing.

I was stunned by the cost estimate of over $325 to clear a drain. I paid the service call fee of $40, and sent the technicians away. I had the drained cleared the same afternoon for $134. Quite a difference. I'll not be calling Lutz again unless everyone else is out of business. If they don't want to do drain clearing, just say so. I'd really like to get my $40 back too.

Hunter was great. Phoned on his way and arrived slightly ahead of scheduled time. Was thorough in description of issue(s) and explained options and cost in easy to follow manner that made me comfortable. Once I decided on the option I felt was best he got right to work and once he was done he explained all the work that was done. He was prepared and organized - placed runners on the carpet, kept the area clean and left no trace of anything left behind - very clean. Not that I want to have any other plumbing issues but if I do I have no doubt we will be reaching out to Lutz and hopefully see Hunter again.

He explained everything and brought me options considering both my toilets were over 20 years old. The purchase of 2 new toilets made the best sense for me. He brought in Reed, an amazing apprentice, made sure both toilets installed perfectly and fixed my water pressure issue. All in one day! I have used Lutz plumbing for a number of years. I am enrolled in their loyalty program. Who needs a loyalty program for plumbing? Every homeowner! I call and either get an appointment later that day or the next day or a few days later if that’s what I want. All the techs know their stuff and explain why they are doing what they are doing, if you ask. I always ask. For this service call, I was having issues with a toilet and my tech Matt was wonderful. He assessed the situation and gave me lots of options. He did not try to pressure me one way or the other. I decided to replace the toilet instead of repair it. He had a new toilet for me within the hour and had it installed very quickly. He left the area as clean as he found it. I will recommend Lutz Plumbing every single time.

Brent Drabic and Willis provided a very nice job of adding a hose bib to our house where none previously existed. The price as quoted seemed reasonable but there were many details not specifically discovered or discussed when I agreed to proceed. As the work progressed and the details emerged, Brent always chose the solution that met or exceeded my expectations. In the end, the project was completed holding the price quoted and exceeded my expectations.

Lutz Plumbing has installed a water softener, garbage disposal, and now running a gas line for some outdoor gas lanterns. They are very reasonable and knowledgeable and I highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs.

I am satisfied with the service call to install a new hot water heater. Matthew, completing the job, appeared knowledgeable of the product and steps necessary for installation and completed the whole job in a reasonable length of time.

Did a good job with a faucet leak. However, later I notice they have a $25.00 coupon on their website. I submitted a request on their website to see if they would honor the coupon even though the work had been completed earlier in the day. I received a phone call saying that would not honor the coupon since it was not submitted at time of service. I'm very disappointed that they provide a coupon they refuse to honor. I was told I could use it if they would need to come out again on another project. No need to worry about that, I will not use Lutz plumbing again. Sad that they won't honor $25.00.

I have used Lutz Plumbing twice after being recommended by my HVAC service. Once to replace the shutoff valves under the sink which no longer functioned and again recently to find and repair a leak which we were unable to locate. The plumber was polite and quickly found and repaired the leak and also told us where to find a part we needed which he did not carry and would have to charge us $400.00 if he went and got it and put it in. He was accurate ad my husband easily found to part at a local store. We will definitely call them for our next plumbing issue.

Lutz was able to send a technician within 30 minutes of my call to determine the problem with my sanitary line that had backflowed into our basement floor drain. Found with auger there was a broken section of the line and tree roots was able to fix the broken area the next day. Great service and awesome they were able to fix it as quickly as they did. They have been my go to plumber for about 5 years now and are always able to take care of what we need quickly.

While replacing the cartridge in our leaking shower faucet handle, the old plumbing in the house once again became a nightmare in need of a professional. Jason from Lutz Plumbing installed two new faucets in our relatively small bathrooms. I'm not sure how he managed to get himself squeezed into these little areas but he says he's a contortionist and I believe him! He did a fantastic job and they look beautiful. Had a kitchen sink main line backup. Called first thing in morning and Bill Mutch service technician arrived by Noon and investigated the issue . He had the right tools and knowledge to fix the problem fast and efficient. Bill even saw some issues with the plumbing work and corrected to make water flow more efficient. My mom and I have used Lutz Plumbing multiple times over the years. Last week they replaced a leaky outdoor spigot for my mom. The tech was there for a little over 30 minutes and charged her $528. The part is around $50, you do the math. They had no explanation and cannot send an itemized cost breakdown. Don’t take my word for it, look at all the other reviews. We will continue to yell from the rooftop to not use them. I called two other local companies for estimates after we had already paid them and got two quotes, $175-$225. There is also a bogus $79 charge on the invoice my mom wasn’t told about. BUYER BEWARE!

The customer service from this company was wonderful! They was very honest and affordable. Brent was an AMAZING technician and got the job done! I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I needed help to snake the drain pipe for my backed up kitchen sink, and I needed it fast. When I called Lutz Plumbing early Wednesday morning, they said they were busy, but might be able to squeeze me in that afternoon. They gave me a window of time (from 2-4pm) and just before 2pm, I received an email from Lutz stating a technician was on the way. I also received a phone call from that tech, confirming address and approximate arrival time.

When Bill Mutch and his apprentice arrived at my home, they were professional, confident and cleanly dressed. Bill introduced himself and his apprentice, and handed me a business card, then shook my hand. (I really appreciate a good firm handshake. That shows respect, sincerity, and understanding for one-another.)

Outrageous pricing! We should have been given the minimum pricing for the charge to do the job we knew needed done. We paid a service call fee for a man to walk in our door and tell us exactly what we already knew the problem was! We will never use your company or refer you to anyone!

Parts and Labor extremely high. Service was good, but I personally thought the overall charges were excessive. They do not itemize charges or that’s what I was told. A good experience that turned out bad for me. Very disappointed.

1 star is as low as I could give them. They quoted me almost $500 to replace a garbage disposal. I refused to pay that much, so I fixed it myself. All I had to do was redo the plumbers putty where it met the sink. There was nothing wrong with the disposer. They were going to replace it so they could over charge me. It was $39 for the service call, he could have fixed it in 1/2 hour, I did! Never going to use them again!

My DIY project to fix a low flow shower resulted in a call to Lutz. Willis Fitzpatrick was assigned the job and war really good at explaining and diagnosing the problem. Unfortunately the entire shower valve needed to be replaced due to calcium build up over the years, and not my shotty workmanship. As a result I plan to install a whole house carbon filter system to prevent future blockages.

We were beyond pleased with our service. Our provider was very knowledgeable and professional. We would highly recommend Lutz to anyone with a service need or needing to install something new. We got the Pro Systems Whole House Carbon Filter and have been very happy with the results! We were so happy we signed up for their membership which involves annual maintenance checks on our home's plumbing.

I was very impressed with the service. I was pleased with how quickly my appointment was scheduled. They called to remind me of my appointment date and time the day before service. I received an email indicating the technician was on his way and showed a picture of the technician. Austin explained the costs before performing work. Austin is very personable and did a wonderful job. After work was completed he explained what he did and what he did to make sure the garbage disposal was installed correctly. I would highly recommend Lutz plumbing.

Google review rating had misled me. I spoke over the phone very clearly that I would need to have one toilet replaced and one to fix for flapper leaking. I had a new standard toilet and parts purchased from HD and ready to be installed or repaired. Simple 1980s house, no complex plumbing, vinyl floor, no need to haul away the old ones since I had a way to dispose of it myself. They still wanted to come to take a look before providing a quote. Five minutes to finish evaluation, another 5 minutes to give me a quote ($1313): $522 for one installation and one repair (fill valve or flapper) with all the parts I myself got from HD, $692 for one-year warranty for both, and $99 for membership which would give me $214 discount. The crew gave me a second more expensive option if I used the product he brought with him. I said no to either option and was requested to pay the $89 service fee immediately. That was nearly one year ago when fuel cost was lower than now, and my house is near Shawnee West High. Later that day, I called a handyman I used for painting job to try to see whether he could do this job. When he showed up, I decided to have all three toilets replaced with new ones from HD. It took him two hours or less to finish all three replacement. I paid $250 with no warranty (he didn't mention it). Nearly one year now, each still works properly. I understand companies have to provide employees with insurance and benefit, v.s. single individual's operation.

We were very impressed with Lutz Plumbing’s speed, quality of work and customer service. We had a pipe freeze over a holiday weekend and they answered our call, and made a house call well within the timeframe they quoted us. Lutz has been extremely helpful solving a very difficult plumbing issue. They were very empathetic and treated my home as if it were their own.

Came for 'free estimate' for hot water tank pilot light inop, looked at unit for 15 seconds, said, 'you need a new hot water tank' quoted me $5200 for it, my wife $1000 less over the phone, and then proceeded to charge a $212 diagonstic fee . UNTRUSTWORTHY, SCAM.

I paid $40 for a five minute quote only to send them away.

My shower cartridge malfunctioned. He could not fix the old one and didn’t k ow how to assemble it. I bought a new shower with cartridge to be installed. The technician said it would be 500$ to install to which I said fine. He was unable to install the brand new system and suggested I get another brand new cartridge or whole new shower system for which he was going to have to charge at least another 500 dollars. So basically they tried to charge 500 for nothing and now I have to call a new plumber. Of course I will never pay the 500 and forsee small claims court in my future out of principle if they try to collect.

The plumber himself admitted he had been unsuccessful installing other pfister showers. I have no way of knowing if the brand new part is defective or plumber incompetent. I am having another plumber come out, if he cannot install it and it is in fact defective I will let the company know.

As suspected, the plumber from Lutz broke our new shower cartridge during install and ruined it. Not only that, it was improperly installed and was leaking all night. The plumber from the new company was great and wrote a nice document for us explaining the first plumbers mistakes. Cant believe he was going to try to make us buy a new one and then charge us for another install. Very dishonest. I should be charging this company for breaking the first shower which I was unable to return.

Kevin and another worker were nothing but courteous, professional and very intolerant of my very excited dog! They were super friendly to both of us, to include holding and petting my dog! All the while completing the task at hand in a timely manner.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had when looking for a plumber. There is no reasoning with dishonesty. Your company should be ashamed of itself and your bad business practices. Hope you sleep well at night ripping people off their hard earned money.

Read the other low reviews. There are several reviews that describe what happened to me. $350 dollars to clear a line and it was not clear. They could not get anyone out for days while toilet water sat on my floor. After the fact they said they stand behind their word, but they didn't when I needed help. Luckily, I had the work done for $100 and was told by a real plumber I was taken advantage of.

In response to what Lutz will respond, I would like to say...it is your lie and you can tell it how you want to, but your low reviews have a consistency to them and I experienced your business practice first hand. Shame on you.

Was told the part would take 1-2 weeks. Didn’t hear anything after a month so I called and they said they needed to check with the technician and didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks so I called again and they said the part had just arrived. No communication during that whole time. We are a restaurant and we’re left with a leaking faucet for 6 weeks with no communication.

Again, wonderful service from Brent with Lutz. He identified 4 leaks under my sink. Two of them I didn't know about. He was here promptly at 8am and was finished by 10:40. Beautiful job replacing old pipes, switching out the sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. The quote was provided before the work started and he tested each new part that he installed before he left. He also showed me what he installed and walked me through the upgrades.

Tech came out today and also installed new water line. Professional clean courteous and did the job quickly and efficiently. Would recommend and definitely use again.

Plumber was scheduled for 11-1 pm time frame. Shows up at 11 on the second. Looked at our issues and had us a quote with labor included in 20 mins. Clean,fast ,effecient,pleasent to deal with. He was complete and out the door by 1:30 pm. Could not ask for better service.

Totally the worst plumbing company experience I have had in many years of experience with plumbers. They called and changed the original appointment time window the day I made my appointment. They gave me an appointment window of 12-2pm. No one called or showed up. I called them to follow up at 2:30 and they said they were running behind and would be coming by 4 pm. 4pm comes and goes with no call or showing up. A technician finally calls me at 4:35pm and tells me he is now 30 minutes out. I tell him the service I need is to simply replace the wax ring around my toilet. He quotes me $447!!!
This is absolutely ridiculous for parts that cost under $10(wax ring and new bolts) and simple labor of pulling and resetting the toilet- 30 minutes maximum. I told him do not bother coming out!
Do not waste your time and money with this company!

Scott with Lutz came to repair a leaking shower drain at our home. He was straightforward and professional, giving me options (PVC and brass) and explaining the costs and benefits of both in a clear manner with no pressure. That's more or less what I would expect from any company. But, what really impressed me is that I was home with my toddler who was taking a nap, and Scott made sure to work as quietly as he could - it worked, kiddo slept right through the whole service call! He didn't have to go that extra mile, so I really appreciated that.

I can’t say enough good things about Bill and his apprentice! Bill replaced shut off valve and t-joint under the sink that had a little leak. They also anchored down a toilet by adding some kind of extra plate and drilling holes in tile to set bolts. I don’t know if I am using plumber language but they sure solved a big problem for me.
They also gave good advice regarding polybutylene pipes.

Austin is an incredible and knowledgeable plumber. He solved the issue with my washer and provided great options if things didn’t pan out.

Their 'tech' came to run the main drain for our business' building.
I guess he did but didn't even grunt at us when he left.
The only way we knew he 'worked' is because he rubbed his grubby self all over the walls in the Head, staining TF out of them.
I was planning on painting, just not yet.

Very pleasant experience in an unpleasant situation! We had a pipe clog in our lower level at 6:30 pm which caused 3 toilets to clog, and 2 showers to overflow with water. After calling 5 other plumbers who couldn't get to me until the next day, I thankfully reached Lutz Plumbing. A serviceman called me within 5 minutes of receiving my information, and arrived at my house 40 minutes later. In less than an hour he had everything working correctly. We called Lutz plumbing Inc to install the shut-off valve behind e refrigerator plumber came to install it took almost 5 minutes to do the job plumber charged $352 when we asked him how much do you charge hourly he said we go by the book which book? he did not know the next day we found out that the work he did was so poor because it was leaking behind the refrigerator we called Lutz then they sent the plumber to fix the leak.it is called ripping off by the book,

I called for service and in less than a half an hour the tech was at my home. In less than 2 hours from my original call I was ready to go with a new water heater! Great service!

I called this plumbing service yesterday at 3pm. They said they were down a plumber, but pretty sure they could get to our office before we closed at 6pm. They later called and said they would not make it, and would contact us at 8am to let us know when somebody would be out. We are a business with one toilet, that is not working. They didn't call until 9:30am, and then they cancelled because somebody else had an emergency, and offered to come next Monday (today is Thursday). I could have called 5 other plumbers in the mean time if they had just told me they couldn't come.

I called them recently for a minor issue, they quickly coordinated a time to come to my house to fix.
