I was more than impressed with Chase and his company! The first time I spoke to Chase, he spent at least fifteen to thirty minutes on the phone with me discussing the best option. Chase was out to the house within a couple days and instead of making a quick sale, which he could have done, pointed out several potential safety issues that needed resolved. Chase left our house without selling or billing us anything and gave us time to call around. We ended up calling Chase back out to fix the issues and install a new water heater, which we have been very happy with. Our 17 year old water heater decided to spring a leak. We contacted Chase on a Saturday afternoon. He took the time to explain over the phone in-depth our options and gave us a quote. Hot water heater died this morning and saw all the great reviews for this company. Called them up and the owner, Chase, was here in 2 hours to install a new water heater and even fixed some things that were done incorrectly from the previous owner/servicemen. Chase was VERY knowledgeable and showed me everything I needed to know about my new water heater. He was also the nicest serviceman I have ever dealt with. He will always have my business ,as well, I will be referring anyone to him and his company, no doubt!

We needed to have an 18 year old water heater replaced quickly because we were leaving town the next day. I researched several plumbing/heating and cooling companies in the Kansas City area before finding Chase Thompson of KC Water Heater. Chase was listed in the member directory of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. I called KC Water Heater at 9 am and after speaking with Chase on the phone and receiving an estimate much lower than the local competitors I hired Chase. He was at my house within an hour and completed the job in hardly any time. Even though Chase was the low bid, it was more the way he talked me through the process and possible solutions. He definitely has great customer service skills. We are thrilled with our new water heater and Chase even took care of a water line problem while he was there. I would highly recommended this company.

I can't say enough good things about this company. After a horrible experience with a local plumbing company, Chase (the owner of KC Water Heaters) got us all fixed up and at a lower price than what the other plumbing company quoted. If you need a water heater - CALL CHASE!!! You won't regret it.

Our water heater went out finally after 27 years. I called Chase on a Sunday and he spoke with me over the phone and thoroughly went over all of the options/prices I would have to either bandaid fix the problem on our own or replace the unit. We chose to replace the unit and he came out the next day after 5 and worked until after 8 PM which I consider extreme dedication to the job. He was very thorough in explaining some issues we were having and also gave us a few referrals for furnace and electric work we also needed. He was CONSIDERABLY cheaper than anyone else around town and he was honestly one of the nicest people I've had come to my house for work and really took the time to explain what was going on in the house. Oddly enough, my parents water heater went out at their house the next day and I immediately referred them to Chase.

Chase is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Honestly the best experience I've had with hiring a home service contractor. Not only did he do exactly as he said, and charged the exact price quoted over the phone, he also educated me throughout the process on ways that I can prolong the life of my new water heater. I had no idea about water main pressure and the reason for adding a pressure reducing valve and expansion tank. He also went above and beyond and fixed some duct work that had nothing to do with his installation! There's no reason for me to look anywhere else moving forward. I will call Chase for all future water heater needs and will be referring him to family and friends.

Chase took the time to find the cause of our problems; reviewed which type of water heater is best for our area and fixed piping that was never installed correctly by other people at no extra charge. It's been 8 months since I got them replaced my old water heater and it is working good since then. Chase was willing to giving estimate based on the pictures of my existing component, explaining what's needed for the new installation and what can still work. Their pricing was lower than other large company in the market. The installation was neat, everything cleaned out after completion. He also explained to me how the atmosphere draft type of heater suffer when there is negative air pressure in the basement, and how my old unit is suffering from top panel rusted out. Adequate new air for the combustion, suggested me to install air louver allow air from the finished basement to supply new air.
About the Bradford brand heater he installed, I think it is good, we got 6 people showering same night(not concurrent) and hotter water did not run out.

It’s hard to find contractors who are passionate about what they do. I’d guess it’s probably even harder to find a contractor who’s passionate about water heaters. That’s the only way I can describe KC Water Heater. Chase took my call on a Saturday evening during a Chiefs playoff game for a non-emergency service call, and we talked plumbing for nearly an hour. He’s competitively priced and he pays attention to the details that would otherwise be overlooked. I’d highly recommend using him for your water heater project and you can live with peace of mind that you aren’t getting ripped off or half-ass workmanship.

I would recommend Chase and KC Water Heater to everyone looking to replace their system. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything before beginning work and pointed out some other areas of plumbing (a DIY job before we owned the house) that were visible near our system to keep an eye on. He also replaced some plastic line with copper to our humidifier.

I chose KC Water Heaters over another company because the price was better and I figured a specialist in water heaters would do at least as well as any other plumber. Chase not only did a great job, he also found and fixed a minor gas leak from the furnace -- no extra charge! He also stood by his warranty and replaced the water heater's bad igniter even though it failed through no fault of his own.

Chase just came out to my home after I found an issue early this morning. He is very professional and knowledgeable in his area of expertise. I would say around 10% higher than some other estimates, but honestly, the quality was great and he walked me through the entire process. You can also tell he takes a lot of pride in doing things the right way. Let me tell you what I loved, absolutely loved about this guy. He is very detail oriented and courteous with making any mess. As he's cleaning up, he opens our front door and it sticks a little bit. After 4 encounters with the door, I hear a power drill and 3 min's later my door is fixed and I think he was more happy than we were. I'll call him everytime

Our water heater gave up on us the week before Memorial Day, so you can imagine how hard it was to find someone to want to come out and replace it. My HWH started leaking a lot the last week of the year---it was almost 20 years old so I knew I would need a new one. I called on a Saturday night and they were able to get me in the following week, of course they verified if I still had hot water (I did) -- it wasn't an emergency. Chase came out on time and did a fantastic job replacing my HWH, adding an expansion tank, and even took care of some venting that will help me down the road when I replace my furnace. It's nice to have someone with in-depth knowledge of water heaters and all the intricacies that accompany them. Recently had a KC HVAC company that drives the pink trucks around town (which I had a service contract with for annual inspections) give me a hard sell on my hot water heater being near end of life and recommending that I replace it ASAP. Their estimate seemed extremely high so I searched online for a different company to evaluate my water heater and estimate a replacement cost.

I came across KC Water Heater and read a number of the reviews on Google and Yelp. I remember thinking at first that the overwhelmingly positive reviews seemed too good to be true but decided to give them a try and now can say that was a great decision.

I contacted KC Water Heaters to get a second opinion. Chase performed an inspection and said he didn't see any reason to replace it such that it looks like it should last another 3 to 5 years. I was impressed by Chase's detailed evaluation of my water heater and honest recommendation of not replacing it at this point. Even if my water heater had needed replaced KC Water Heater was far and away more reasonable for the estimated replacement cost too.

Absolutely outstanding. This is an owner/operator. He is running a small business and does great work. The guy you speak with on the phone is the guy putting in your water heater. I researched pricing and other services provided in the area and KC Water Heaters was the best option. He charged me hundreds less for parts than others and worked on the job until it was done right. The install of my water heater ended up being a longer job due to the age of the home, the vents and the piping. KC Water Heaters ensured everything was squared away. He even checked his work - noticed a small leak in a fitting. He took extra time and effort to make sure it was PERFECT. This is clearly an individual who cares about his business and customers. Labor Day morning awoke to no hot water and a steady stream of water running from the bottom of my old water heater. I called several well known plumbers in the KC Metro Area but none could make it today. Then i got ahold of Chase with KC Water Heater. Not only did he bring out and install a new water heater on Labor Day but his price was about 40% less than the nearest estimate from other plumbers. He was very professional, immaculate in his workmanship, very neat and clean but he also explained the why's to a lot of questions i had. Called on a Sunday evening and had my new water heater installed by noon on Monday. Chase was honest and knowledgeable and didn’t try to sell unneeded things. Great value as the final bill came under what I thought or even quoted over the phone. Hopefully I don’t need a new water heater for the next 15-20 years, but I will call kc water heaters when I need another one!

Excellent job! Professional, courteous, and affordable. The other six companies I got quotes from were over priced and I was preparing to replace the water heater myself. KC Water Heaters was the last estimate. The quoted price was within my expectations for a water heater replacement so I hired KC Water Heaters. Chase ended up replacing a gas shut off, replaced the flexible gas pipe with hard pipe to new unit, and rotated my existing Y vent to meet distance from combustible material using my existing single walled vent saving me over a hundred dollars. Other companies wanted to charge me for double walled venting. Both solutions meet code but Chase's solution reused existing vent and saved me over hundred dollars. I would refer KC Water Heater with confidence for any water heater replacement job.

Our water heater went out, and I first tried a larger name company in town - that was a quick mistake after they quoted an outrageous amount. I called Chase, but he wasn't going to be able to get to me for 2 days - we have 3 kids (one is a baby) so we needed hot water back ASAP. I went about scheduling someone else who gave me a quote over the phone and said they could probably come the next day to repair/replace.

BUT it was what happened later that afternoon/evening that made us go with Chase - he texted me tips to troubleshoot, and when one thing didn't work he gave me other options to try. I recently decided to replace our 15 year old water heater once I heard the new regulations were going into effect. I did a lot of research and got quotes from 8 major companies for a replacement water heater and then came across KC Water Heater. I don’t usually look for smaller companies on a big job, but when I looked at his reviews and saw that all of them were five star I had to give him a shot. He won out over all the others. He spent time going over options very thoroughly with me over the phone (even after hours 😳). what should have been an easy install was a little bit more difficult because of location of heater and codes, and he was the one trying the hardest to come up with a solution I’d be happy with. I can't really say enough about how great Chase did installing a new water heater in our home during a challenging week of weather. By far the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. Chase is one of those people who would be good at anything he chooses to do. He just happened to choose water heaters and he's really good at it.

I'm glad I found Chase to come out and install a new water heater for us. While our house and the old water heater were only about 7 years old, the water heater was having some overheating issues and new thermostats didn't fix it, so we went with a new heater. He also found many issues with the original installer's work. He corrected everything and installed a new water heater, expansion tank and PRV valve in very short time for a competitive price. I had a 17 year old water heater, that while still working, was giving off the sulfur smell from time to time. I hit up Chase, who did his due diligence before the job to make sure I actually needed a replacement, instead of immediately selling me a full replacement.

During the replacement, he diagnosed and replaced all other parts of the gas and water lines that needed updates, as well as fixing the exhaust venting. He also spent the time to explain all this work to us so we could understand the system for future maintenance.

Chase went above and beyond on the job and surpassed expectations.
He was detail oriented, trustworthy, diligent, very knowledgeable, and proactive. He was always ready and willing to share with me insights, tips, tricks, and explain the decisions of his work as well as what to look for in future maintenance. His focus and experience with water heaters really showed in what he did to resolve issues that I didn't know existed and at no extra cost.

After 3 months of limping along with cold or semi-warm showers, we finally got our tank replaced for HALF of what other companies estimated. Chase not only installed the new 50 gal tank with expansion tank, but also new flues for both the water heater and furnace and a new PRV. There was no more waiting as all the work was also completed upon his initial visit. The work performed was exceptional and Chase was able to answer every question. KC WATER HEATERS has our full and unequivocal recommendation. By working with a smaller company, we saved paying overhead costs and we were able to work with a professional who takes a substantial personal investment in his work. With minimal maintenance, we know we'll have a washer heater to last us a very long time.

When I called KC Water Heater I had no idea whether I had a minor or major problem on my hands. As someone who isn't mechanically inclined, Chase could have told me my water heater was shot and I wouldn't have known any different. Instead, after looking at it for about 10 minutes and re-lighting the pilot, he told me it would probably last a couple more years. He didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need right now. I emailed them pictures of my existing 1998 water heater for a quote on Friday. I received the quote the next day and it was FAR better than any other quote I got from the big local companies. Not to mention Chase did not try to convince me to buy a bunch more products/services like the big companies. They got me in the following Tuesday morning. Chase and his apprentice showed up right on time. Super nice guys, got everything (including water pressure regulator install) done in about 2 hours, cleaned up everything and were on their way. I called multiple places on Sunday morning, and Chase was one of the few who would offer me a replacement estimate over the phone with several options. Chase gladly came over on the same afternoon (still Sunday), gave me several options, and suggested where to spend more money on and where to cut cost,. We decided to listen to his advice by spending a little bit more money on a higher efficiency water heater. He also went through step by step on how to check water pressure and maintain our new water heater. In the end, Chase was the only person who offered to replace my water heater on the same day, and his price is the best I could find around town. Chase is awesome and I highly recommend KC Water Heaters.

I called KC water heater because my water heater vent into my chimney was backed up. I found out this is not a service they provide, but they spent 10 minutes on the phone with me, generously talking through different possible solutions. Because of my specific need, I was not a customer they were going to make any money off of, but they still took the time to help me understand my issue and point me in the right direction. (Based on their advice I probably saved $500+ ) If I need any hot water heater service ever, this is absolutely the company I will call!

Outstanding service and quality. I'm a good DIYer and thought about going to Home Depot and replacing two gas water heaters myself. So glad I didn't. I can't say enough good things about KC Water heater. Our home was built in 2009 and an AO Smith water heater was installed. 2 days ago, the old water heater developed a leak on the top of the unit and was spraying water all over our utility room. The old heater was under warranty but we were told that the labor portion of the replacement was our responsibility. We were quoted a $600 service fee and the new heater would only have the balance of the old warranty. Additionally, it would take 5-7 to get the new heater in.

I then contacted KC Water Heater. We discussed possible options. Chase was extremely knowledgable and educated us about water pressure, expansion tanks and hybrid savings. We decide on the hybrid and he installed it that day!

In addition to his knowledge and expertise, Chase is a true professional. He contacted me later to let me know that his truck may have leaked some oil on my driveway and wanted to make it right. My husband and I have considerable work done on our house this year and lots of unrelated damage. KC Water Heater is the only contractor to acknowledge the damage and offer to fix it. The damage is very minor and not worth any extra effort.

I will be honest, I saw these reviews and thought there was no way they could be real. To good to believe. But I emailed him asking about water heaters and he was so helpful and actually has a full database of water heaters he has replaced and their quality. He responded to many Emails and I finally scheduled an appointment.
He was on time and also so polite and professional. He fixed a bad connection to my humidifier because he noticed it was on the wrong pipe. He did not need to do it but still did. And he quotes his price upfront with tax included.
I have lived in this house 24 years and have never had a better experience.

Chase was awesome! After getting the run-around from my home warranty company, they finally said to call someone and they'll reimburse me for it. Chase was the first person I called and he was able to come out to my house the same day. He was willing to talk to my home warranty company before getting started to help me get reimbursed for the service. The installation was very well done, and afterwards he walked me through the equipment to go over service intervals and things to look out for to keep everything running smoothly. The visit kept him busy past 5pm which I felt bad for, but he didn't rush around and try to hurry out. I can't thank Chase enough.

What a great honest professional to do business with! Turns out my problem wasn't the water heater....and he told me so...and diagnosed the fact that it was a problem with my sump pump not working properly and the water I thought coming from my water heater was actually coming through the floor under my water heater! Most, I think would have just given me a new water heater...I'm a single woman, and I don't know about these things. After years of being taken advantage of by service people, it is so refreshing to find someone so honest, so knowledgeable and informative about water heaters and troubleshooting the problem! We had a leak in our 15+ year old water heater. I called Chase and he was able to come out that morning. He answered all my questions and was able to remove our old water heater and install a new one that day. He was very knowledgeable about the different building codes around KC and took the time to share with me how to increase the life of my new water heater with some simple once a year maintenance. I will call him if I have any future plumbing needs and would recommend him, especially if you have water heater problems.

We called KC Water Heaters at about 7:30 PM Friday evening. Chase was quick to call us back. We discussed the pros and cons of repairing our 9 year old water heater. We decided to go with a new water heater. Chase scheduled our install for the following day (Saturday). He arrived on time - calling prior to arrival. He verified our old water heater did need to be replaced. He checked our home water pressure and began the process. He is polite, knowledgeable of his trade, and extremely efficient taking out the old water heater and installing the new one. His prices are fair and he will leave your home clean. A excellent, locally owned business that obviously takes pride in the service they provide. Called to schedule an appointment to replace 15 year old water heater and got a callback within 30 minutes; spent a good 10+ minutes talking with Chase. Installation is very clean with new hard piping replacing flex cable on the gas line, T branch installed for the humidifier water feed, PRV installed downstairs, and an expansion tank tucked neatly away. Was right on time and had us back up and running in no time.Very knowledgeable and answered all of the questions I had.

Chase was knowledgeable, patient and didn't cut any corners on a complicated water heater installation. You can tell he is a genuinely honest and nice guy. Trust me, you can stop shopping around for a plumber, because you won't find better. KC Water Heaters, not only provided excellent service but is very reasonably priced!!

Chase Thompson, owner of KC Water Heaters, is a master plumber with a fuel gas certification. Chase replaced our two 15-year old gas water heaters with two new Bradford White tanks. The fuel gas certification is important to us since we know that a lot of houses do not have proper venting. Sure enough our old tanks had the melted plastic evidence of prior backdrafts. We spent time with him discussing various tank options as well as different configurations for plumbing setup. We decided on a reverse return plumbing setup as recommended by the tank manufacturer (Bradford White). We had other quotes from more well-known plumbing companies but they recommended the more well-known parallel or in series setups even with Bradford White units. I'm not sure they know reverse return setups. Chase installed the manufacturer-recommended plumbing setup and increased the size of the vents to properly handle the exhaust and be compliant with code. He gets city permits on his jobs. He also replaced the PRV valve which was old and not providing adequate water pressure. He was at the house for 6-7 hours and worked hard the entire time with no breaks. He is very knowledgeable and easy to speak with, and all he does is water heaters, so you're working with an expert. I highly recommend him.
